This chapter is based on Pharaoh, featuring Evie with some changes.
Evie logged on to her laptop and went to the LadyBlog website. Alya told her that she had posted another video. Evie clicked on the video.
"Don't blink now 'cause we are live from Paris. Yo peeps, Alya here bringing you the one and only Ladybug," The video shows Ladybug flying past with her Yo-Yo attached to a helicopter. Something fell from her hands and landed on the ground. "Ladybug in action. Hang on cause we are going for a ride." Alya hurried over and picked up a book. "Freak out. What we have here is no ordinary book, it's a year 9 history book. And I should know because I have that very same book. Could our own Ladybug be a high school student in real life?"
The video ended.
Evie pressed the back button on the video until she got to the textbook part. Shen then pulled out her own textbook from her bag.
"Could it be possible?" Evie said while looking at her textbook.
Her Kwami, Starr noticed and flew over to her.
"Everything ok, Evie?" Starr asked.
"Ladybug has the same textbook as me. What are the chances that we go to the same school?" Evie said, "Do you think that I already know Ladybug?. We could even be in the same class."
"Doesn't every student have that textbook?" Starr asked. "Besides, you shouldn't be trying to find out who Ladybug really is? It's dangerous for you to know."
"Alya seems to think that she can figure it out from the text book," Evie replied.
"Alya has some crazy ideas. She can't possible check all the girls history textbooks in your year group." Starr said.
"Maybe but she is totally obsessed with Ladybug and finding out who she is" Evie added.
"That won't happen by looking at pictures or textbooks. Ladybug would have to either tell her or transform in front of her." Starr said.
"Anyway, I have to meet Caragh at the Louvre?" Evie said.
Evie arrived at the Louvre and waited for Caragh. They agreed to meet outside the glass pyramid. It was Evie's first time visiting the Louvre.
Caragh arrived and they headed inside.
"Did you know that it would take 100 days to see all the artwork in here?" Caragh asked.
"Really. I didn't know that," Evie replied. "What are we going to be seeing today?"
"The Egyptian Antiquities," Caragh replied. "We have that test on Ancient Egypt."
"Oh, I forgot about that," Evie said.
The two girls walked into one of the large rooms that were home to 'over 50,000 pieces dating back to 4,000 BC' (Louvre Wikipedia) They spend time looking at the different statuses and artefacts on display before wandering into another room. This room had been chosen to host an exhibit on Egyptian Pharaohs.
"Well, this seems interesting," Evie said.
"It's seems popular." Caragh added.
"This exhibit has something to do with Ladybug. For real?" A familiar voice said.
"I swear we keep seeing them. First it was outside the supermarket now it's the Louvre," Caragh said.
"Oh, shall we say Hi?" Evie asked.
"Yeah, maybe we can find out what Marinette knows about Ladybug," Caragh agreed as they walked over.
"Marinette, Alya," Evie called.
"Hi Evie, Caragh. Are you here to see the exhibit?" Alya asked.
"We came to look at the Egyptian Antiques but I guess this is part of it." Caragh replied. "So, I heard you mention something about Ladybug"
"Marinette, did you find it?" Alya asked. "Evie, Caragh and I would like to see."
"It's over here" Marinette replied as she pointed towards a scroll on the wall. They walked over to it and started looking. The scroll had lots of different symbols on it. "Hey, Evie, Caragh."
"Come on tell us what it is already," Alya said.
"No, No cause it wouldn't be a surprise then," Marinette replied.
"I'm telling you, father. It's right there in the hieroglyphics." Two men walked towards them. One of them appeared to be in his early twenties. He had chin-length moderate tangelo hair and brilliant blue phthalo blue eyes. This was Jalil Kubdel. "Excuse me." He walked in front of Marinette.
"There, as you know, the one with the sceptre is Tutankhamun, the first. And there, opposite is Nefertiti, his princess. There are exactly one hundred mummies beside them. She died several years before him, and the sun god Ra took her as his goddess."
"Yes, I know. I'm the director of the exhibit remember." The other man said. He had pale blue eyes and orange-brown hair. He also had a moustache. This was Alim Kubdel, the father of Jalil and the director of the exhibit.
"Then you also know that Tutankhamun wanted to bring his princess back to life by offering the sun god a new wife. This seemed to illustrate the ritual he devised. Nobody has ever fully deciphered the hieroglyphics but I have. It's a magic chant that needs to be recited in order to complete the ritual. I'm sure of it." Jalil said.
"Jalil, these types of frescos are almost always the illustration of a legend. They call it a legend for a reason"
"That's what everyone thinks. But I know it's real. I can prove it" Jalil said,
"How are you going to prove it?" His father asked.
"I just need to get my hands on the sceptre and recite the spell" Jalil replied.
"Are you serious? I'd lose my job on the spot. It's a priceless historical object not a toy" His father told him, stopping him from taking the sceptre.
"Come on dad. We have to try out the spell. What if Tutankhamun found a way to bring people back to life."
"Listen Jalil. That's enough. Get your head out of those papyrus scrolls and focus on the real world. This one."
Evie stood with her three friends listening to the conversation between Jalil and his dad.
"Talk about crazy ideas." Evie said.
"I know I shouldn't but I kinda fell sorry for him. He seemed really sad. I just hope that Hawkmoth doesn't take advantage of him" Caragh said.
"I still don't understand what this scroll has to do with Ladybug." Evie asked as she turned back to the scroll. She could see it clearly now.
"This things making my eyes hurt" Alya complained.
"Look closely, it's in their," Marinette said.
"Hey, you," Someone shouted. The girls looked around a noticed one of the museum guards blowing his whistle. In front of them stood a supervillain with an Egyptian theme. The unnamed villain was tall and muscular with pupilless eyes that glowed a light, greyish-cyan colour. He had gold bands on his wrists, ankles and biceps.
"Thoth give me time," The villain said as he trapped some of the civilians and museum workers in bubbles that appeared to slow them down.
Evie, Marinette, and Alya managed to avoid getting trapped in the bubbles but Caragh wasn't as lucky.
Evie ducked behind one of the many statues in the hallway hidden from her friends. Starr flew out and hovered next to her.
"Starr, blend in," Evie said and she transformed into Snow Leopard.
Evie (Snow Leopard) arrived to see Ladybug throw her Yo-Yo towards the villain, but the villain grabbed the Yo-Yo and swung Ladybug away and she crashed into a wall.
The villain who Evie learned was called Pharaoh used his strength to bend the bars.
"How nice of you to open the door for me," Chat Noir said as he attacked the Pharaoh only to find himself being thrown into one of the caskets on display.
"Enjoy your coffin," Pharaoh laughed.
Evie hurried over to the casket and managed to open it, freeing Chat Noir. While this was happening, Pharaoh had taken Alya.
"Let her go," Ladybug said from behind the bars. Pharaoh had used his strength to put them back together.
"Hiding behind an innocent bystander. Your weak Pharaoh" Chat Noir said.
"I'm way more powerful than you," Pharaoh told them as he walked away, taking Alya with him.
"And don't forget all the latest information is on my blog" Alya called.
"Wow, even in danger Alya thinks about her blog. She is something" Evie said.
"Yeah, she's one brave chick" Chat Noir added.
"If by brave you mean bossy, feisty and bold. Yep that's her," Ladybug said. "Come on Chat Noir, get us out of here."
Chat Noir used his cataclysm on the bars.
"How are we going to find them?" Evie asked.
"Alya has a livestream on her blog" Ladybug replied.
"Good idea," Evie told her.
Ladybug got the blog on her yo-yo and pressed the live stream.
"Alya here, live blogging from the shoulders of another terrifying villain. Huge scope to come. Stay tuned"
Chat Noir's miraculous beeps.
"You go ahead. I'll catch up with you as soon as my miraculous is charged up again," Chat Noir said.
"Hurry up. It's going to take all three of us to defeat him" Ladybug said.
Evie and Ladybug ran through the Louvre trying to locate the Pharaoh. Ladybug managed to get caught in a time bubble so Evie used her weapon to pop the bubble and free Ladybug.
"Thank you," Ladybug said.
"The Pharaoh has taken Alya outside," Evie (Snow Leopard) told her. The live stream from the Ladyblog showed Alya on the ground with the Pharaoh standing near her. In front of them was the scroll.
"On to the next phase. Anubis bring me mummies" The Pharaoh said as beams of light shoot out of his eyes, turning civilians into Mummies. "Soon, we'll be together again. my Nefertiti. My long lost love."
"This is gonna be one major scoop," Alya told the Live stream as she tapped the Pharaoh on the shoulder "Uh, excuse me, Pharaoh but what exactly is going on here?"
"I'm going to carry out the secret spell to bring Nefertiti back." Pharaoh replied.
"Ah, right. You're talking about the spell on the papyrus, right?" Alya asked.
"Correct. The one hundred mummies and the offering" Pharaoh replied.
"Offering. What offering?" Alya asked sounding confused.
"To persuade the sun god Ra to give me my sweet princess, I must give hime something in return. A pure soul" Pharaoh replied.
"That's hard to come by," Alya said.
"But I've already found her. You look so much like her."
"Say what," Alya said, sounding shocked as she looked at the scroll. Two of the symbols on the scroll stood out to her. One was a lady with black spots on her body. The other was a girl with glasses on and long hair being used as the offering. "Ladybug, this is Alya. I just found out that I'm the offering to the sun god, please hurry."
"We can use the stairs to get to the roof," Evie pointed out.
"Let's go," Ladybug said.
Chat Noir joined them and they walked out onto the roof.
The three heroes watched, not sure what to do next. The live stream continued to play on Ladybug's Yo-Yo.
"Whoa. Who's that goddess chick with the black spots. There on your papyrus," Alya asked.
"Ladybug, my sworn enemy. My nemesis may have kept me from carrying out my ritual 3000 years ago, but she will not stop Nefertiti from coming back to me this time" Pharaoh said.
"Did you say Ladybug 3000 years ago?" Alya gasped.
Evie, Chat Noir and Ladybug looked shocked.
"Everyone has a past they can learn from," Ladybug said.
"Well, you don't look a day over 1000" Chat Noir said.
Evie wondered who the Ladybug on the scroll was.
"Now you know why I'm so much wiser than you,"
Ladybug told Chat.
The Pharaoh started the first part of the ritual.
"We've got to save her before he completes the ritual, or Alya will be gone forever," Ladybug said.
"What should we do?" Chat Noir asked.
"We have to get past the mummies first," Evie added.
"The two of you will distract and stop the mummies while I take on the Pharaoh," Ladybug said.
"Sure" Evie replied.
Evie and Chat Noir took on the mummies. Evie used her weapon to trip some of them up while Chat Noir jumped across the lampposts. The other mummies followed him.
Ladybug and Evie (Snow Leopard) find themselves next to each other once more. They are surrounded by mummies.
Chat Noir wasn't so lucky. Some of the mummies had managed to lift a car and were about to hit him but Ladybug quickly used her Yo-Yo and pulled him out of the way.
"This way," Ladybug said as the ran towards a bus. The mummies followed and Chat Noir turned to the bus on its side, trapping them.
"We have to save Alya before the reaches the circle of darkness," Ladybug said.
"You will not stop me from bringing Nefertiti back. I'll finish you off. Anubis bring me mummies" The Pharaoh said as he fired beams at them. The heroes managed to avoid them.
Ladybug uses her Yo-Yo to grab the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh took Ladybug for a ride as he lifted them into the air. Ladybug reached for the pendant around Pharaoh's neck. Ladybug grabbed the pendent and dropped it.
"Chat Noir, the pendant. Thats where the akuma is" Ladybug said.
Evie and Chat Noir run towards the pendent but Pharaoh puts his foot on it.
"Sekhmet, give me your strength," Pharaoh said as he made a sonic wave that knocked Ladybug, Chat Noir and Evie (Snow Leopard) over.
The Pharaoh grabbed the pendent "it's over."
Ladybug uses her 'Lucky Charm' and gets a ladybug costume with earrings and a yo-yo.
"A ladybug outfit," Ladybug said.
"Thats our last hope?" Chat Noir questioned.
"This offering isn't good enough for Nefertiti," Ladybug told Pharaoh.
"Too late, Ladybug. The ritual has begun" Pharaoh said.
"Set Alya free and sacrifice me instead. Wouldn't it be the sweetest revenge? 3000 years later. After all I'm the one who kept Nefertiti from you all these years" Ladybug said.
Evie realised that Ladybug was messing with Pharaoh. There was no way that she was 3000 years old.
"It's true that you make a much more precious offering than this mortal," Pharaoh said as he took Ladybug's hand and flew them over to the circle of darkness.
Pharaoh throws Alya off the beam. She slides down the pyramid and lands safely on the ground.
"Excuse you. I make excellent sacrifing material" Alya complained.
Evie watched the rest of the plan which involved Ladybug pretending to remove her Miraculous while taking the pendant. The Pharaoh falls for the plan and Ladybug captures the Akuma.
After capturing the akuma, she uses her 'Lucky Charm' to repair the damage caused by Pharaoh.
Pharaoh turned back into Jalil.
Evie left the scene while Chat Noir and Ladybug spoke with Alya. She remembered that Caragh would be waiting for her.
After transforming back, Evie hurried to find her.
"Caragh" Evie called when she found her.
"Evie, what happened? I was stuck in one of those bubbles." Caragh said.
"I didn't see much. I hid for most of the fight," Evie lied. "I heard that Alya almost got sacrificed tho,"
"Really?" Caragh asked, "That has to be one of the craziest villains I've seen so far."
"Yeah. Well not as crazy as Hawkmoth who gave him powers but nobody has ever seen Hawkmoth." Evie added.
Evie had got back from the Louvre a few hours ago. Her Mum asked her about her day. Evie told her that they bumped into Marinette and Alya, she also told her about the interesting facts she had learnt.
"Marinette and Alya, there in your class at school?" Her Mum asked.
"Yeah. Caragh's in the other class. Why?" Evie replied.
"Just asking," Her Mum replied.
"I'm off to bed now, Night Mum," Evie said.
In her room, Evie got ready for bed. She put her pyjamas on and then got into bed, hoping to do some reading before her history test tomorrow. The textbook had a picture of the scroll in it. It made Evie remember something.
"Starr" Evie said as the Kwami landed on her shoulder. "The ladybug today can't be 3,300 years old, that's not possible. Humans don't live that long."
"Superheros like you and Kwamis like me have been around for a long time." Starr said.
"That means that you are over 3,300 years old," Evie said,
"You don't look that old."
" I'm older than that, I've watched over every holder of the snow leopard since the very beginning," Starr said.
"So, you must have seen some important events in history then?" Evie asked.
"Some important, others not so much," Starr replied.
"Will you tell me more about your past holder?" Evie asked.
"Maybe but not right now." Starr replied. "You should get some sleep. You have that test on Ancient Egypt tomorrow."
