Ticket here, welcome to the fourth season premiere, and first episode of 'Survivor: Man versus Machine'! This will be divided into four chapters to start, so I can make room for everyone to set up their characters and get that sweet sweet screen time.
This will be the introduction. 1B will show first impressions and some early dynamics. 1C will have some more dynamics AND the first immunity challenge. 1D features the first vote and Tribal Council of the season, where someone will get the unfortunate label of "First Boot." How embarrassing will that be?
Just a couple notes: Merge WILL actually for real happen at final twelve this time. Also, if I feel that this episode needs cut down to just 'A/B/C' again, I'll do it and have a YouTube apology. But let's not waste anymore time, and get started on this new journey!
"Welcome to Borneo…"
Shots of the island are shown, from its forest, to its wildlife. A spider is shown weaving its deadly web. "Eighteen new castaways are about to outwit, outplay, and outlast each other, for our grand prize: one million dollars!"
The source of the voice is shown to be Jeff Probst, standing on a steel cliff, no caution for his body at all! "They will be divided into two tribes: Man, and Machine. In the end, we'll see which one is stronger, and which one will crumble into dust." he says, with two boats pulling up in the distance.
"Forty-Two days, eighteen people, but only ONE survivor!"
The camera pans out, iconic as always…
Cut to those boats, with nine players on each. The first boat shown is one full of robots and creations. The first player shown is the tallest and hardest out of everyone: Megatron.
Megatron: Man has always been carried by Machines. Now, they'll be obliterated. The fight I bring will be more than enough to make the other tribe extinct.
The camera pans alll the way down and Clank appears, the tiniest of them all.
Clank: We are more alike than we think. What body we are in won't dictate who comes out on top. Instead it will be the mind.
Then Dark Samus is shown, no read on her at all.
Dark Samus: I will use anyone to win. Betrayal is a shock to some, but for me it's just another day in the world.
Cut to the second boat, with eight humans and one humanoid-like rabbit. The first person we'll hear from on this tribe is Chun-Li.
Chun-Li: The Machines will come in way over their head. Just because we're complex doesn't make us weak. I'd bet I'm stronger than half of them.
The next person shown is a man in a blue jacket, and a black cowboy hat. It's Rick Grimes, definitely hiding his career.
Rick Grimes: Where I'm from, every day's a fight for survival. The elements won't bother me at all. The people will be the biggest challenge, especially if the other side has big egos.
Before the boats reach shore, Drax gets a confessional.
Drax: I've left robots broken. If they launch an attack on us, I'll exterminate their whole team…except for Rocket. He's nice.
Footage of that raccoon on the boat plays as it switches up.
Rocket: I'll stab these bots in the back, I'll stab these people in the back, it doesn't matter to me. Drax is gonna be a big issue if he can't shut his mouth. I love the guy but he doesn't know what "subtle" means.
The boats close in on the shore, but a Mighty Gazelle confessional pops up.
Gazelle: The pace is going to be volatile. We have a snippy Raccoon to my right, a freakin alien on my left, and a Metal Sonic clone.
The shade on Silver Sonic. Rough.
Finally, they come to a stop and the players make a b-line for their colored mats: Purple and Black. Jeff wastes no time greeting them.
"Welcome to Survivor: Man versus Machine!" he exclaims, and while the Machines remain still, Mankind claps.
"WOOHOO!" Daisy shouts, and the host immediately points her out. "Lady in the yellow dress, you're enthusiastic. Name?"
"Daisy! I've been waiting for-EVER!"
"I'm just curious: how many times have you applied?" Jeff asks.
"Four times! There's only so much to do in the Mushroom Kingdom before you get bored." The princess admits.
Daisy: Sooo I run Sarasaland, but nobody else needs to know that because they'll never give me the win if they find out. Nobody knows but you and me. Got it?
Producer: Your secret is safe.
Daisy: Okay sweet!
Jeff points out a robotic gator. "Gator in the back, what's your name?"
"Monty, and im ready to rock and roll!"
"You're definitely the rockstar type. That may work where you come from, but worlds collide every season. How do you think you'll do?" Jeff asks.
"I can get along with anyone, dude." Except for Bonnie. "You don't have to live the same life to get along."
"Understood." The host replies.
Monty: Y'know Jeff needs to lay off the "rockstar" label. I'm more than my guitar.
He pulls out that black and yellow guitar to show the world.
Monty: I'm radder.
Jeff points out a certain red robot next. "Red bot upfront, who are you?"
"Sektor."
"Sektor…in a game of deception, do you think both tribes will stick to their own? Or will they branch out?" Jeff asks.
"They always branch out. Dante had connections across both tribes early in 'Maldives Madness.' We are well aware of Metal Sonic and Nefarious' partnership as well." Sektor points out.
"So basically you predict fluid gameplay?"
"Affirmative."
"Let's hope so." Jeff jabbing at someone?
Sektor: Despite working with nine, I am devoted to one force: the Cyber Lin Kuei. We are evolving our clan, and the more funding we have, the better. You'll notice Cyrax is identical. He's also devoted to the cause. If we make it to the finals, then that it a win for our clan. Unlike the Black Dragon, we are not going to put on a show, but a slaughter instead.
Jeff calls out Grimes next. "Guy in the front, introduce yourself."
"Rick Grimes."
"Rick, you just pop out. Is this new to you?"
"I like adventure. I've been East and West, but that's not enough. This will be what I'm lookin' for."
"Hope you get the experience you want." the host says, pointing to Drax next. "Warrior next to him, name?"
"Drax."
"Drax, take a look at the Machine tribe. They seem really tough." Ok we see you egging him on. "Do YOU think they'll be a challenge?"
"A robots strength is nothing compared to ours." Drax says, causing Rocket to facepalm. "What are these machines but cannon fodder?"
"Surprised someone like you knows big words." Monty responds, getting all eyes on him. Drax gives him a thousand yard stare. "What do you mean by 'someone like you?'"
"You must be special or somethin'. It's day one dude, take a chill pill."
"You're the enemy, of course I—" Chun-Li gets in the way of his stare. "He's provoking you, ignore him for now."
Drax: I rally my team, and the Gator starts being offensive. Of course I'm going to crap on those machines. I'm not shaking hands with our enemies. Not him.
Monty: No regrets. That guy killed my vibe..and his shot to win.
Drax looks away for from Monty for now, and the show goes on. Ulala looks on, and actually gets herself a confessional.
Ulala: Good afternoon space cats, this is Ulala coming at you from Borneo! We just witnessed alien versus predator, and it's the mess we've needed!
Jeff calls on the biggest robot in the bunch. "Robot in the back, introduce yourself."
"I am Megatron."
"Look at the other team. Do you think they can measure up?" Jeff asks.
"It's looking like a slaughter." Megatron pulling no punches. "They may have a heart, but we have the power."
"Oh please…" Rick says, getting his attention.
"Do you have a counter, human?"
"You think it's done already, but we'll prove you wrong. I PROMISE." Ooooh, there are fighting words already!
"Yeah! We'll prove you wrong!" Drax shouts. "Thanks for the assist." The officer responds.
Rick: Megatron thinks he's got it alll figured out. You know what they say: pride comes before the fall.
With the Mat Chat portion done, Jeff's got a podium next to him with two boxes, and two maps sitting on it. "Alright. Before you head to your new camps, here's your buffs…" he tosses nine buffs to the Man, then the machines.
"If you got a Purple Buff, you are the Man tribe." Jeff says, tossing a map their way. Chun-Li catches it. "If you got a Black Buff, you are the Machine tribe." A map is sent their way, and Cyrax catches it. With everyone set, the host dismisses them. "You're all set. Head back to your camps, because this is the start of your Survivor journeys."
The eighteen split up into nine, and head their separate ways for now. Who knows how this field is going to look like at the end of all this…
One last confessional airs before commercial.
Dark Samus: Conflict already? This is going to be a bloodbath. Just the way I like it.
Man: Brandon, Chun-Li, Daisy, Drax, Porky Munch, Nabbit, Rick Grimes, Sackboy, Ulala
Machine: Clank, Cyrax, Dark Samus, Megatron, Mighty Gazelle, Monty Gator, Rocket Raccoon, Sektor, Silver Sonic
Nothing like some spice to kick off the season! Some are feeling hot, while others are just laser focused. Also there already seems to be conflict between Drax and Monty, as well as Rick and Megatron. We'll see how that plays out. A few castaways didn't get content here: Sackboy, Nabbit, Brandon, Porky, and Cyrax. But don't worry, they'll get screen time in the next few chapters when they get released.
