Untold Hazard;

The three of them were so quiet, Naomi could hear the wind whistling and rustling the trees outside. Her blood was rushing, and her heart was slamming against her chest. She was sure they could hear it too.

But he's a day class student, Naomi let out a shaky breath, he's a prefect.

Yuki's labored breathing turned heavier and with it her body slumped roughly against her. Naomi struggled to support her weight, but Naomi wasn't strong. Still, she did her best to keep Yuki from crumbling to the ground.

Zero reached for her, "Yuki, I'm – "

Naomi tightened her grip around her and twisted Yuki's weak body behind her, A vampire. He's a vampire.

Under Naomi's grasp, Yuki weakly jerked away from him.

Zero stepped away from them. He hung his sorrowful gaze down in shame.

Yuki's weight shifted – she was getting heavier. Naomi's knees slightly buckled under her weight, and she was about to ask if she was okay but stopped herself. It was a dumb question, of course she wasn't okay - she was bleeding from her neck. She raised to place pressure on Yuki's wound.

Naomi glared at Zero, "Get out of here."

The infirmary. She needed to get Yuki to the infirmary and grab gauze to stop the bleeding. Naomi looked at the top of the stairs gauging how she was going to get Yuki up there and then across the hallway where the medical supplies were.

Naomi saw a white uniform turn to go down the stairs, "Yuki?"

"Kaname..!" Yuki's eyes widened.

Naomi's eyes narrowed, another vampire.

Kaname's lips pulled themselves into what looked like a snarl. He was fast to move in front of the two girls; faster than the human eye could catch.

Kaname glared at the silver haired boy. His voice dripping with venom, he said: "So you've finally succumbed, Zero."

Yuki with the last remaining strength she had, had pushed off against Naomi. Naomi reached for Yuki's arm but stopped when she saw the blood on her own hand. She clenched the handrail with her other hand and stared as the blood dripped from her palm to the floor.

Yuki forced herself between Kaname and Zero, "Kaname, don't!" The moment she got the words out she collapsed.

Naomi couldn't tear her gaze away from her bloodied hand. She swallowed; I have to leave. I have to go. I have to wash my hands. She looked up and saw Kaname holding Yuki, Yuki. She couldn't leave Yuki here alone. She was bleeding and they were vampires. She wasn't safe here with them.

I can't leave, Naomi thought.

Kaname spoke calmly, "Your thirst must have been insatiable," but there was an edge to it, "to have drained her to the point where she can't stand."

Yes, you can, Naomi began to back away down the stairs. This is not your fight, she stumbled down the stairs. It's not your problem so don't make it yours. Just walk away.

Another step, but what if she's –, she shook her head, no.

Someone called out to her, "Naomi?" She didn't turn around to see who it was.

Naomi ran out of the academic building. This would not become her life. She would not allow it to become her life. A chill ran down her spine, I'm fine, she thought. Everything is fine.

Bile rose through her throat, "Oh god," and she ran; ran as fast she could to the Sun Dorms. She pushed and pulled the door open until she was facing a toilet. She took in a breath and hurled.

Naomi took in big gulps of breath as she let her back hit the tiled wall behind her. She tried to slow her breathing down to at least something that would be considered semi-normal. Naomi hugged her knees to her chest – she was so pathetic; I'll probably be called to see the Headmaster again.

She reached her hand towards the handle on the toilet and pushed it and with a satisfying whoosh, her vomit was flushed down. She pushed herself up to her feet and turned on the water from the sink. She rinsed her mouth from the taste of puke, then she brushed her teeth twice to make sure there was no taste left of her vomit.

Naomi dragged her tired legs to her dorm room where Asuna still slept peacefully. She thought, how nice it must be to know nothing? She grabbed the string for the blinders. Asuna had forgotten to pull them down and Naomi saw those eyes again.

"I can't handle this right now." Naomi whispered to herself, and for the first time, she ignored her curiosity. She closed the blinds and laid down. This time sleep did not elude her.
