Primary Colors;

Naomi was awake now more than ever. She had been thinking about it all night - What was she going to do? Fight him? She couldn't. That wasn't even his real body, and even if she could - who knows if that would get rid of him. He could just jump into another body and haunt her again and again and again, until the days she died.

No. She had to go home. She had to get answers, or at least some kind of information on this strange vampire, and apart from Tanaka, her parents were the only ones who knew everything about her childhood.

Naomi opened her closet to change into a casual outfit; her loose shirt was replaced with black crop top and her cotton shorts were replaced with a maroon skirt, but she laced up her academy boots before she grabbed her bag, stuffed Phthisis inside one of the pockets, and flung it over her shoulders. No one was going to stop her from leaving, and with Asuna fast asleep, and judging how Naomi blew up at her yesterday, Naomi doubted she had to worry about her roommate trying to stop her. She silently made her way out of the Sun Dorms, hoping that no one was awake this early, but someone was.

Zero's deep voice called out to her, "Hey! Where do you think you're going?"

Naomi turned around to face and started walking backwards. She rolled her eyes at him, "I thought vampires were nocturnal."

Zero glared at her, "Change and head to class."

Naomi pretended to think about it, "No."

Zero quickened his steps and grabbed her arm roughly.

She let out a small yell, "Ouch, that hurts." She tried to yank her arm free from his grip, "Shouldn't you be on a leash?"

Naomi could hear Tanaka sighing in disappointment; so much for showing compassion.

Their eyes met, his only a few shades lighter than hers but their hair a complete contrast of each other.

"Change," Zero reported, "and head to class."

Naomi frowned, "As if I'm going to take orders from you." She stepped hard on his foot and kicked him in the knee.

Zero winced as he was forced to let go of her and she ran to make her escape.

"I wouldn't hold my breath." She smiled, "I'll be back later!" She mockingly waved goodbye at him, "You'll tell the Headmaster for me, won't you?"

Naomi could feel his lavender eyes piercing her back as she opened the gates and left; There was no chance in hell that I was going to let him ruin this for me. Still, Naomi, just in case, ran until she made it safely into town.

Naomi straightened her skirt, and who does he think he is? Man handling me like that, tactless.

Avoiding Tanaka's coffee shop was easy enough. She learned the nooks and crannies to slip into, so she went unnoticed. Tanaka's probably attending to some early birds. She continued to walk through town with ease as most of the residents were at work and kids her age were at school; I'll bother him later.

Naomi breathed in and her bag fell to her side, who do I bring it up? 'Hey, mom, dad! I have a stalker! Do you happen to know if there was a creepy man following me when I was a kid?' She ran her hand through her black hair, 'Ooh, and by the way vampires are real!' Naomi then frowned, Okay, maybe not that far...

As she walked towards her house, Naomi let her mind wander to other things such as: Yagari's an ass and Vampire Hunter. Zero's a vampire with issues, Kaname's a Pureblood who just appears out of nowhere, and Yuki is a lovesick puppy. She tapped her chin, Am I missing anything, oh yeah, Aido has ice powers. Why? Beats me.

Naomi began to stare at her feet and began to not step on the lines of the cobblestone, do they all have powers? Kaname made the ice disappear and the way they acted around him was strange as if he was king. Must be because he's pureblood, and Yuki did say they're rare and dying out.

This brought up a memory for Naomi.

She began to giggle, "Extinct animal," but before she could relish her joke, she realized she was already in front of her house.

Naomi let out a shaky breath and paused, and then knocked.

Naomi waited in bated breath.

The doorknob turned and the door was pulled open.

There she was Naomi's mother, Sayako Nakamura. Her long black hair cascading down her shoulders and her eyes, a piercing blue. Naomi always thought her mother was gorgeous, she sometimes wondered if they were related. But then, Naomi sees her own lock of hair and finds that it's identical to her mother's. Naomi also loved her mother's smile, it was full warmth and love while hers was awkward: much like her father's, but her father was not without his charms; charms, Naomi did not inherit.

However, instead of a smile on her mother's face it was a frown.

"Hi mom." Naomi smiled brightly.

The frown deepened on her mother's peach pink lips, "Please tell me, you didn't get expelled."

Naomi's eyes widened, "No, I didn't! I was just... um, homesick."

Sayako shot her daughter a sharp look, "So if I call the Headmaster, he'll be fully aware of your absence?"

Naomi smiled sheepishly, "No, he won't."

Sayako sighed, "Well... since you're here." She smiled, "Come in."

Naomi saw her go into the kitchen, "Close the door behind you, will you Nao?"

Naomi nodded and did just as her mom asked.

"I made breakfast, it's still hot~" Her mom sang.

Naomi ran into the kitchen with glee in her eyes, "Really?"

Sayako hummed, "Have a seat.~"

Naomi got this sparkle in her eyes. A sparkle only her family has ever had the pleasure of seeing. She dropped her luggage in the living room and quickly got to her seat at the table.

Sayako set down the plate of fluffy pancakes. Naomi's mouth waters as she let the memory of her parents coming back from trip to America wash over her. Her mother made pancakes every day since.

Naomi enthusiastically scarfed her breakfast.

Sayako laughed, "Calm down, you glutton."

Naomi cheeks burned into a light of pink, "Too late."

"Alright, alright..." Sayako, sporting a flawless smile asked, "Now, why are you really here, sweetheart?"

Naomi cocked her head to the side, "I already told you. I was homesick."

Sayako put her hand on her chin, "Naomi, honey, I know you like the back of my hand." She shook her head, "You don't get 'homesick'."

Naomi looked down at her empty plate and fiddled with the fork, "Mom... how was I when, you know, I was little?"

Sayako raised an eyebrow, but answered: "Well, no offense sweetie, but you were kind of a nightmare." She sighed, "You drank coffee when you were four which I blame Tanaka for, you also learned how to pick locks when you were four from a Nancy Drew book! All because I locked the cookie jar!" She began counting with her fingers, "Oh, and you always ran off on your own. One second, I was holding your hand and the next, you were gone. Just poof!" Her mom rubbed her temples, "I'm getting a headache just thinking about it. Fortunately, you always went to Tanaka's." She let her hands softly fall on the table, "You have no idea how much I worried about you."

When Sayako was finished, Naomi felt a pit in her stomach, was I really that horrible?

Upon seeing her daughter's guilty face, she quickly interjected: "Don't feel bad, Nao, you were a child."

"Right..." Naomi looked at her, "Did I ever talk to someone with a blue left eye and a red right eye?" she asked nonchalantly.

Naomi saw her mother tense, "Why?"

"Just remembered." She played it off.

Sayako grabbed the empty plate and walked into the kitchen.

Naomi gulped, "So did I?"

"Yes, you did but you weren't exactly nice to him." Sayako confessed, "You kicked him in the shin once."

Naomi tried not to look too interested, okay, okay, we're getting somewhere.

"What was his name?" Naomi asked innocently.

Sayako gently placed the plate into the dishwasher, "He never said."

Is she lying? She wouldn't... would she?

"Well, what did he look like?" Naomi pressed.

Sayako put a hand on her hip, "He was tall, very handsome, but I never liked him either."

Incredibly vague.

"Why did you let me talk to him then?" Naomi questioned.

"He was there when you ran off." Sayako said, "It was the only time you'd come to me." She began rubbing her temples again, "I tried to keep you away from him, but he kept showing up. Thank God, he stopped when you were four."

Naomi nodded, "When did I start running?"

"When you were three."

Naomi's blood ran cold, "He did this for a year?"

And now he's doing it again! Why!?

Sayako gave her daughter a worried look, "Is he back? You can tell me. God, I knew I should've called the police!" She began to ramble.

Why didn't you? Naomi thought, maybe it was better that she didn't... what could've the police have done against a vampire?

Naomi smiled and swiftly lied, "No mom, he's not back. I just remembered and was curious."

Her mother sighed in relief, "I was so worried whenever saw him. I felt like that man was going to take you away from me."

He probably was and he was probably going to kill me or feed off me or whatever it is vampires do.

Naomi never felt so violated in her life.
