"YAHOOOO WE'RE BACK!" Natsu yelled ahead of them. "Come on Happy let's get moving!"

"Aye sir!" Happy yelled, flying off after Natsu as he darted off into the city.

Ken smiled and yelled out. "Tell Master I'm right behind you!"

Natsu just whooped and ran off further into the town, already down the street before she and Ken even set foot inside. A part of her had wished she could have flown like that had for a good amount of the journey, but Ken said that he could only fly with two people for a certain amount of time before his magic energy would start running out. He had explained to Lucy how he was born with probably twice the amount of magical energy as most people, and it was easy for him to replenish it thanks to his angel blood, but he still liked to be conservative. She didn't mind, it was a beautiful day, and she had seen the town of Magnolia sprawled out from the sky before. It was well worth it.

"Wow…" She said, looking into the distance as they entered the town. "That's the guild hall right?! I can see it from here!"

Ken chuckled. "Ha, yeah it is. You can really see it from any part of Magnolia. My step-father used to tell me it was built like that so if anyone's in danger in Magnolia, they could see the guild and know where to go for help."

Lucy smiled at him, feeling giddy. "That's so cool! Ha, so you're stepfather was a part of Fairy Tail?"

He nodded, a proud look on his face. "Aha, he was actually in the running to the be it's third guild master, but decided he didn't want it. He was teammates with Master Makarov, so I guess you could say I'm a legacy member."

He's being so open, and telling me about himself, YES! She thought with all the excitement that went with it.

"I see, so you must have been here your whole life," Lucy said, walking with her hands behind her back. "I hope I can stack up to someone like you or Natsu. You guys were amazing in Hargeon!"

He blushed, which Lucy was learning he did rather easily. "Ha… I've actually only been here for eight years. My stepfather, he told me to come when I was eleven. As for fitting in, don't worry. Don't worry about stacking up to us, in Fairy Tail, we all got each other's backs, anyone would do anything for anyone in the guild, whether it's your first day or your eighth year."

Lucy stammered, not knowing what to say. Her chest thumped, and she looked up to see him smiling at her, still blushing but it was such a cute smile. The more she talked to him, the more she had that vision she had of Kenshin Kokoro shattered. He didn't seem that different from any other boy she'd ever met. Of course, she thought he was cute, sweet, and she loved seeing him smile at her… but a part of her also felt bad for automatically assuming he'd be any different then how he was now.

In the end, he was really just like her, a normal wizard, who loved magic.

"Then… I'm glad to hear that, I'm really excited, I hope I prove that you made a good choice in you and Natsu bringing me here Ken," She said.

He shook his head. "I think I already know it was. Ha… I should be the one apologizing to you, I was really going to let you walk here alone. I'm… sorry for that again."

That made her laugh nervously. She still didn't understand why he hadn't told her about who he was. Did he really think she'd treat him differently knowing who he was?

"Ha… it's okay, really," She said, as they walked through crowds and the market. "I just don't understand, do you really think I would have acted different had I known who you were?"

"Well… honestly, yes," He said, sighing and rubbing the back of his head. "People… they say they don't care, but ever since that interview and photoshoot, everyone I've met just assumes I'm some celebrity and wanna be treated like it. I'm sorry for assuming that about you Lucy."

Lucy stammered… the truth was she probably would have reacted like that if she knew Kenshin Kokoro had her in his arms after she fell. She suddenly felt even worse, who was she kidding? She had been just another fan girl before she had met him, she was still trying to recover from the fact he'd brought her up into the sky to fly to Fairy Tail.

She sighed as they stopped. They were in the middle of the market, and people walked around them. She could see the guild hall in the distance, and a few people even whispered as they passed looking and smiling at Ken. His white hair blew in the nice breeze, and his brown trench coat did as well, he really was handsome, but more importantly, he was helping Lucy realize her dream.

"No, don't apologize… I'm the sorry one, I probably would have treated you like that," She told him, before smiling and feeling her determination grow. "But I'll make it up to you! I promise I'll be the best Fairy Tail wizard I can be!"

He looked surprised for a minute, before that cute smile finally came back to his face. He even chuckled, and nodded, gesturing for her to follow him.

"I think you will be Lucy, and you can count on me if you ever need help," He said, turning back towards the guild hall. "Come on, let's-."

"KEN!"

He and Lucy both turned, and through the crowd of people, Lucy looked down to see a tiny girl rushing through the crowd. Ken smiled and stepped up next to her and knelt down, people kept moving past the two of them, but Lucy watched the tiny girl excitedly stop in front of Ken. She had long black hair, and excited green eyes, with a white and red dress on. It was adorable, she practically was bouncing up and down when Ken knelt down to her.

"Ha, hey Shana, jeez, you've gotten huge," Ken said, rubbing the girls head.

"Haha, I did I grew a few inches!" She said, eating up the interaction. "I just saw Natsu and Happy, they said you were right behind them!"

Ken scoffed but smiled. "Natsu's pretty fast, so I was a little further behind. Have you been practicing with that wooden sword I made for you?"

The girl nodded, bouncing from foot to foot. "Aha you bet I have! And I've been practicing my lightning magic, watch!"

The little girl held her hands apart from each other. Lucy watched on, and jumped when small sparks of lightning started bouncing between each of her fingers, and then with a small crack they smashed into each other between her hands. The girl seemed absolutely elated, and Ken genuinely did too, even clapping for her.

"Haha, that was awesome Shana!" He said, rubbing her head again. "We'll have to get you signed up with Fairy Tail soon too with magic like that."

"You bet!" She said excitedly, pumping out her fists. "I'm gonna be an S class wizard just like you are! And then I'll… huh? Who's that Ken?"

Lucy jumped, as she realized the girl was looking at her. "Oh! Um… ha, hi there, I'm Lucy."

The girl looked on amazed at her, and Lucy felt self-conscious for a minute. Ken smiled and stood gesturing over at her.

"Shana this is my friend Lucy, she's coming to join the guild today," Ken said, turning to Lucy. "Lucy, this is my friend Shana, future S-class Lightning Wizard."

"Aw… well, it's nice to meet you Shana," Lucy said, kneeling down to her. "I love your dress, it's so pretty!"

Shana's eyes got wide, and she nodded. "Thanks! Wow… you're really pretty Lucy, isn't she pretty Ken?!"

Lucy stiffened, and instinctively looked up to Ken while she blushed, well… am I Ken?

Ken nervously laughed but smiled and nodded. "Yeah, you bet she is. She's gonna be a great addition to Fairy Tail."

"I think so too!" Shana said, looking over to Ken. "And one day we'll go on missions together!"

"You bet we will!" Ken said with a smile, rubbing the girls head again. "I gotta get back to the guild hall, I'll see you tomorrow okay?"

"Okay! I need to get back to my mom anyway," She said, with a smile that was so precious Lucy wanted to pull on her cheek. "Bye Ken! Good luck Lucy!"

Lucy let out a chuckle and waved with Ken. "Thank you!"

Lucy watched the little girl run back off to an older woman who smiled and waved at Ken as well. Ken waved back, and so did Lucy. After they had walked off, she looked over to see a serene look on Ken's face as he sucked in a calming breath and smiled.

"Finally home…" He said, looking up at the guild hall.

Lucy smiled sheepishly at him. "Ha… you are pretty popular around here aren't you?"

Ken laughed nervously and nodded. "I guess I am…. Still, kids like Shana, inspiring her? That's why I joined the guild. I can't wait for you to be a part of it."

"Yeah… I can't wait either," She told him.

He nodded and waved for her to follow. "Alright, let's get moving!"

Lucy smiled, looking at him and then up to the guild hall, Fairy Tail… I'm finally here mom!

Snow Fairy: Fairy Tail OP 1

The Angel of Fairy Tail

Episode 2: Mountain Adventure

"Ahhh finally back! I missed that guild hall smell," Ken said, with a sigh, looking at Lucy as they walked through the doors. "Are you thirsty Lucy? We got plenty-."

"HEY KEN!"

"ARGHHHHH!" Lucy yelled, as Ken grabbed her and took her to the ground as a chair flew over their head.

A loud crash sounded over her head. Lucy looked up to see a chair in splinters, then looked up to see Ken on top of her.

"Jeez, animals, you okay Lucy?" He asked, his face inches from her.

Her entire body got hot, she stammered. "Y…yeah, yeah I'm okay. Um can you… um get-."

"HEY KEN GET OVER HERE!"

"DAMMIT ELFMAN WATCH WHERE YOU THROW YOUR CHAIRS!" Ken yelled, shooting back up to his feet.

Lucy breathed, but her entire body was shaking. She looked up to see an all out brawl already going on in the center of the guild hall. She recognized Natsu in the middle of the chaos with somebody in a headlock, but dozens of chairs, tables, and people were all strewn about as if a tornado had just passed through the hall. She started panicking and got up to her feet and looked to see Ken sighing, clearly annoyed as he pulled off his coat and dropped it to the ground.

"Ken! What the heck is going on?!" She asked, jumping behind him.

Ken sighed again and cracked his knuckles. "Natsu said he was gonna kick the crap outta someone for giving him fake information on a Salamander, and naturally-."

"HEY! Quite hiding over there and come fight like a real man!" A large guy with white hair said, rushing over towards Ken as he threw another chair towards him.

"AHHHHH!" Lucy yelled, grabbing onto Ken's back.

Ken rolled his eyes and shot out his hand. The chair stopped mid-air, surrounded by Ken's bluish green magic, and when he flicked his hand it smashed into the wall.

"I just walked in!" Ken yelled, as the fighting continued, and a few of the people fighting seemed to finally realize he was back. "What in the hell has gotten into all-. GAH! DAMMIT GRAY!"

"Why don't quit hiding like a wimp and come fight swimsuit boy!" A guy with no shirt and black hair yelled, having just thrown a mug at Ken's head. "You and Natsu owe me for last time! Come on Angel Face!"

"Oh… I KNOW you aren't ripping on me for not wearing a shirt you icy freak," Ken said, rather darkly rolling up his sleeves, and turning to her. "Lucy, I'll be right back."

"WAIT!" She yelled, going to grab his arm. "But who should I… oh man, that doesn't look good."

"OH, so you can do something other than fly around and do pretty pirouettes!" The guy with black hair said, raising up his fists as Ken rushed in. "Bring it pretty boy, quit hiding behind that girl and fight!"

"I will, WHEN YOU PUT A SHIRT ON!" Ken yelled, rushing up and punching the guy in the stomach. "WE HAVE GUESTS!"

And with that, the fight was on. Ken got swallowed up by the crowd, and Lucy was left standing in the front of the guild hall by herself, aimlessly wondering around and trying not to get crushed by the mob. Ken threw a punch into the black haired guys stomach, the guy threw a punch back, but Ken held up his hand full of magical energy and caught the boys fist. The guy looked like he knew he made a mistake, before Ken threw him across the room right into Natsu.

"OW! WHAT THE HELL KEN?!" Natsu said, rushing over to punch him as well. "I've been waiting to get another crack at you anyway!"

"Bring you fiery freak show!" Ken yelled as they went to punch each other, and Lucy yelped, jumping back behind another table.

"GAH! KEN!" She yelled. "What the heck I thought he and Natsu were best friends!"

"Oh they are!"

"Happy?!" Lucy yelled, looking up and seeing the cat floating down next to her.

"Aha, hey Lucy!" The cat said, floating next to her. "Natsu and Ken are best friends, but believe it or not, they used to fight all the time when they were little, and they still do sometimes."

"Everyone is fighting! Is this normal?!" She asked, still slightly terrified.

"Aha pretty much!" Happy said, dodging another cup that went flying.

"Oh man, so… this is really Fairy Tail huh?" Lucy said, grabbing her issue of Sorcerer Weekly out of the back of her pocket. "I wonder how many I'll recognize…"

"ARGHHHHHHHHHH!" She heard Ken yell and turned to see him locked with Natsu and the black haired guy. "I'LL KNOCK YOU BOTH OUT JUST LIKE I ALWAYS DID!"

"YOU DIDN'T DO IT EVERY TIME SHUT UP!" Natsu yelled.

"YEAH FOR ONCE HE'S RIGHT ERZA AIN'T HERE TO SAVE YOU THIS TIME!" The black-haired kid yelled.

"I DON'T ERZA FOR CHUMPS LIKE YOU!" Ken yelled, kicking his foot up into Natsu's stomach, and grabbing the black-haired guy into a headlock. "You'll never take your shirt off again when I put so many bruises on you, you icy freak!"

And the black haired kid tried to flip him around, where they continued on into the melee. Lucy's jaw dropped, stammering as she looked at her magazine, trying to put faces to the pictures.

"Jeez, this is why I don't date any of the guys here, no class any of them," A girl said, and Lucy turned to see her have quite literally an entire barrel of booze in her lap. "Hey Ken! You want me to save you any?!"

"YEAH! YEAH SAVE ME SOME CANA!" Ken yelled, as he kicked up into someone's head, before turning and getting headbutt by Natsu.

The girl-Cana- scoffed and smirked. "Okay, guess we can play cards later too, maybe you'll get another magazine cover out of it!"

"NEVER AGAIN THAT REPORTER IS BANNED!" Ken yelled, Natsu pressing an onslaught of punches, before the large guy with white hair came swinging a chair. "NO CHAIRS ELFMAN!"

"Ah… ah… is Ken normally involved in fights like this too?" Lucy asked, looking for Happy, who had actually gotten kicked across the room.

"Haha, you should have seen him when he was younger! He may not look like it but he was quite the little troublemaker when he was younger!"

Lucy turned and her jaw dropped. "O…OH MY GOD! YOU'RE MIRAJANE!"

Everyone who knew Fairy Tail knew Mirajane, and Lucy thought her long white hair was just as beautiful in person as in her swimsuit photos. Her and Erza Scarlett had been on the main photo with Ken in her magazine, their interviews saying they'd all been with Fairy Tail for years together. She smiled just as sweetly as in her photos as she held a tray of drinks in her hand.

"Haha, yeah, that's me," She said walking up to Lucy. "Are you new? Before Natsu started kicking, he yelled something about Ken following him with a new member."

"Oh! Yes, that's me, my names Lucy Heartfillia," Lucy said quickly, bowing and smiling. "Ken and Natsu helped me out in Hargeon, and said they'd bring me here to join!"

"That's fantastic, we always love new members," She said happily. "Sorry about it being such a madhouse in here, it normally is, but I think it's what gives us our charm!"

Lucy chuckled. "Yeah… you aren't kidding. You… said Ken was a troublemaker? From what I've seen of him so far, I find that hard to believe."

"Oh yeah, when we were all young we were all even more rambunctious," Mira said, smiling as she looked at the melee. "Especially Ken, Gray and Natsu, they were always getting into fights!"

"I THOUGHT WE SETTLED THIS ALREADY!" Ken yelled, as Lucy saw him locking horns with the black-haired guy-Gray- again. "YOU DON'T STAND A CHANCE ICE FOR BRAIN!"

"OH YEAH?! YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN ME DOWN YET ANGEL BOY!" Gray yelled back.

Lucy noticed they both had black eyes.

"BOTH OF YOU ARE GOING DOWN THIS TIME!"

"NO NATSU!" Gray and Ken yelled as the same time, before Natsu landed ontop of both of them, before they started fighting again.

"On… second thought, I really can believe it," Lucy said with a small laugh. "Still… this place seems amazing already."

The spirit, and pure magic power she could feel was spectacular. And while everyone was fighting… they were all smiling while they did it. Was this really what she was going to be able to expect every day?

"Well, I'll admit I never thought Ken had it in him," A voice said, and Lucy turned to see a handsome guy with orange hair smiling at her. "I never thought I'd see the day he brought such a beautiful lady back to the guild; I certainly did teach him well."

Lucy's stomach dropped. "T…teach him?!"

"Oh yeah, with his newfound fame and the rockin bod he has naturally he'd need advice," The guy said, leaning closer to her. "But I didn't teach him everything. I can't believe he up and left you all alone-."

"NOT A CHANCE YOU WORTHELSS GINGER GIGILO!"

"ARGHHHHHH!" Lucy yelled as she jumped back into Mirajane.

Ken came out of nowhere, and with a swift kick to the midsection he sent the guy flying back into a table which crashed it.

Mirajane giggled. "Oh Ken, you know Loke was just joking!"

Ken turned around, and Lucy initially jumped back, he looked angry. However, once he looked and saw Lucy he went wide eyed, and blushed, quickly rubbed the back of his head and nervously laughed.

"Ha uh… right! Right yeah," He said, before, groaning and walking past Lucy. "Hit me Cana."

The tall girl with dark hair sitting at the bar tossed up a mug. Some of whatever it was filled with spilled, but Ken reached out with his magic and held it in place. He controlled the mug mid air and pulled it back to himself, before downing what seemed like the whole thing, and looked to Mirajane.

"Mira, is Erza just out in town? Or is she on a job?" He asked.

Mirajane shook her head. "On a job! She should be back in a few days oh, by the way Ken! The Master wanted to talk to you, it seemed pretty important."

Lucy turned and it seemed the gears in Ken's head were starting to whir. She was kind of upset that he didn't even seem to notice her there then, but she could see whatever he thought the master had to tell him was probably big. She was going to ask him, but he quickly jumped back in front of her and she heard a loud CRASH!

"YOU IDIOTS WATCH WHERE YOU THROW EACH OTHER!" Ken yelled, jumping, and stopping Natsu from slamming into her.

He then proceeded to get Natsu into a headlock, but that was when Gray came to take them both out, and the three only ended up rolling around on the ground pummeling each other again.

"Haha, like I said," Mirajane told her, "we may fight, but in the end we're-. ARGH!"

"GAHH NO MIRAJANE!" Lucy yelled, as the large white-haired guy fell on her.

"Ye…yeah! One… happy family!" Mirajane said with swirls in her eyes.

"Oh my god, this is insane!" Lucy said, turning to watch the brawl again. "Is everyone here like-."

"ARGHHHH WOULD YOU ALL STOP ACTING LIKE FOOLS?!"

Lucy yelped and turned around. She looked and saw Ken had Natsu in a headlock, and Gray had been just about to punch down across his face. The entire fight stopped, as Lucy turned and saw a massive man covered in shadow pulling all the wizards apart. Lucy yelped, as after all the chaos had settled down, it turned and looked at her.

Ken yelped and jumped up. "Master! I brought her, this is Lucy she's here to join the guild!"

Master?! Lucy yelled, looking up again, almost jumping behind Ken again.

"Welcome back Master!" Mirajane said, coming up next to her.

"M…Master?!" Lucy said, looking up as the shadow slowly shrunk. It got smaller, and eventually standing in front of her was a short mustached old man, who smiled up at her. "This… is the master of Fairy Tail?"

"Nice to meet ya!" He said, a comforting smile on his face.

"Oh! It's nice to meet you too!" Lucy said, quickly bowing to the older man. "I'm Lucy, like Ken said, I came here with him and Natsu.

The Master nodded, and oddly, looked Lucy up and down, before smirking at Ken. "Well, Ken I gotta say you certainly have a good eye my boy!"

Ken went red and stammered. "M... Master! Ugh… Mira said you wanted to see me?"

Lucy realized with a shiver what Ken was talking about and tried not to gag as the old man smirked. She remembered Ken mentioning his stepfather had been on a team with this Master Makarov back in the day. If Ken's stepfather was anywhere near as powerful as Ken looked, and this tiny man was his teammate, he was definitely someone Lucy could learn a lot from.

And when he looked to Ken, all the pervyness was gone. He slowly nodded and walked past him.

"Yes, I think I've found something you'll find quite interesting," he said, walking past Ken. "Just one moment."

Ken fell back next to Lucy, looking contemplative. She was going to ask him what it was about, but she was too enamored watching the tiny master leapt from table to table, and over peoples head until he was on the balcony overlooking the guild hall. She noticed he had a stack of papers hidden under his hat, and when he stood at attention, every single wizard stopped fighting and looked up to listen to what he had to say.

"You've gone and done it again you bunch of clods! Look at all this paperwork the magic council sent met his time, it's the biggest pile yet!" He complained, waving the papers to everyone. Lucy notice him glare at Natsu, and then at Ken, who actually slid behind her this time.

Lucy was worried for a moment that she was going to get yelled at with everyone else on her first day. Ken looked worried too, and she realized that it was probably because of what happened in Hargeon, so when Ken hid behind her she wanted to switch places. The master scoffed and waved the paper in front of them all again.

"Have you all lost your minds?! All you're good at is getting the higher ups mad at me!" Master yelled, his fists shaking as everyone else seemed actually ashamed. However, Makarov sighed, before smirking and looked back down at them all again. "However! I say to heck with the magic council!"

Lucy looked on in amazement as the master set the papers on fire and tossed them into the air. Natsu even jumped up and ate the flames. Behind her, Ken let out a sigh and stepped up next to her and Mirajane again. He looked at her and winked, before smiling back up at the master.

"Listen up! Any power that surpasses reason comes from reason right? Magic isn't some kind of miraculous power! It is a talent that only works when the flow of energy inside of us and the flow of energy in the natural world are in synchronization!" He yelled down, hands on his hips as everyone was enraptured. "To master magic one must have a strong mind, and the ability to focus, it should take over your being and pour from your soul! If all we do is worry about following rules then our magic will never progress!"

Ken next to her smiled and talked under his breath. "Dad says the exact same thing…"

"Don't let those blowhards on the council scare you! Follow the path you believe in!" He yelled, before holding up his hand, one finger and his thumb pointing to the air. "Because that's what makes the Fairy Tail guild number 1!"

And with a massive cheer, Lucy looked around and everyone shot their fingers up and cheered. All the people who were just beating the living snot out of each other were now all laughing, hugging and cheering on their guild. Happy cheered as he floated above them all, Natsu was going crazy, even Gray was next to him with his finger up.

Her mouth fell open, and she couldn't help but cheer herself.

It was finally happening.

"Hey Mira!" Ken said, and Lucy turned to see him smiling over at Mirajane, before he turned to look over at her. "What do you say we get Lucy her guild emblem?"

"That's a great idea!" Mirajane said, running off towards the counter.

And he smiled at her again, running a hand through his white hair.

"So? You excited, no second thoughts?" He asked, smiling from ear to ear.

She smiled and nodded back to him. "Are you kidding?! Of course, I'm not having second thoughts! This is going to be amazing!"

Kenshin

"Okay and it's all done! Welcome to Fairy Tail Lucy!" Mira said, as she pulled the marker away, and Ken saw the pink Fairy Tail emblem on the back of her hand.

"Haha, this is awesome!" She said happily, and her eyes fell over to him.

Ken got nervous at first, seriously, he couldn't remember the last time he got like this around anyone at all. At home, everyone assumed he and Felicia had been a couple, or would eventually be one, but neither of them ever really had any kind of romantic feelings for each other. Of course, and then when he had first got to Fairy Tail, since he had arrived with Erza, everyone thought they were together, which also was far from the truth.

But now? He had meant it, he seriously couldn't think of anyone he thought was just more beautiful then he thought Lucy was. He felt bad, it looked like she wanted to talk to him, but she saw he was with the Master. He just shot her a thumbs up and flashed his own emblem on the back of his hand. She smiled at him, which was rewarding enough, and he watched as she turned and rushed over to show Natsu, who was at the request board with Happy.

"Ken! Are you listening boy?" Master Makarov said, snapping him back to reality, when he looked the Master gently stroked his beard and smirked, his eyes drifting to Lucy too. "Ah, it's like I said to you early my boy, you certainly do have good taste."

Ken choked. "Master! I told you it's not like that!"

"Mhm, really now? And you kicked Loke across the room for talking to her because…?"

"Because it was Loke!"

"A good enough reason I can understand," Master said, clearing his throat, meeting Ken's eyes again.

Ken sat with a drink in his hands on the stool, as Master sat on the bar itself. Mira, after she had gave Lucy her emblem, came over and joined the two of them.

"She's a really nice girl Ken!" Mira said with a smile. "You certainly found us a good one."

Ken couldn't help but smile. "Yeah… she'll be great," he looked to the Master. "So… you're certain about this Master? Magic that looked like mine?"

Master Makarov nodded, and Ken's stomach dropped. He wanted to be excited, to head out right away, but it wasn't the first time he'd heard a rumor about someone using angel like magic. Every single one so far had led to a dead end. He couldn't afford to chase another rumor; he didn't know how much time was left.

"Yes, and I know what you're thinking, that it could just be another wild goose chase," The master said, drinking some of his beer before looking at Ken again. "But this comes right from the magic council. A forest has shown up drained of magic power, wilted, dead, burned."

"So… they were targeting forests?" Ken asked, confused. "That doesn't make sense, if someone's using angel magic like mine, they could replenish magic energy just from the air around them, why would they got through the trouble of burning down a forest?"

His step-father, and his mom had both told him, that some of the legendary angel wizards of the village, could go for days without replenishing their magic energy, that they could make the smallest amount last for weeks or even months on end. What made his magic so powerful wasn't his ability to use it to replicate other wizards magic that he saw, but the ability to absorb and use magic energy from the environments around him. He wasn't as good as his step-father was or any other of the more legendary warriors in his villages legends, but he was getting there, coming to Fairy Tail had only helped him increase his control.

Of course, he still wasn't the strongest in the guild. Gildarts would still trample him, and as much as he hated to admit it, so would Laxus. When they were younger, he had been downright afraid of Mirajane at times. Erza and he had a pretty even split whenever they fought, and Mystogan? Well, Ken had never had a real conversation with the guy, let alone a fight. Ken was S-class for a reason, he was strong yes, but with plenty of room to grow.

And that was his greatest annoyance. That he had all this strength, yet still couldn't find his brother, find his father again… or do anything for his mother.

I wonder how much stronger Caria's gotten… Ken wondered, as Master pull a newspaper from his back pocket and handed it to him.

"I thought the same thing, but ever since the fire was seen, nobody's been able to enter the forest now," Master said, as Ken looked over the paper. "I suspect the entrance is an illusion, throwing back anyone who tries to enter those woods now."

Mira looked over the counter at the paper as well. "Ken… that forest, it looks like…"

Ken's fingers tingled. "Yeah… when I used to lose control of my magic. It looks like whoever it was, they were trying to clear out an area to build something."

"Yes. The council suspects that after clearing the forest, they used some kind of spell to regrow the area they didn't need to act as a shield so nobody would come their way," Master said, stroking his beard.

Mira shook her head. "I'm sure the council has someone who could undo an enchantment or spell like that right? Unless…"

Ken nodded as her eyes turned to her. "Unless it can only be broken or knocked away with angel magic like mine… I guess this really would be worth it. Master I… I can't waste any more time, I need to find my brother, my mom she-."

"Yes… Itsuki does not have much time left. Gabriel is doing all he can, but finding your brother may really be the last hope she has," Master said, recounting what Ken already knew.

Ken shuddered. The last time he'd been back to the village last month with Natsu and Erza, his mother's condition hadn't changed, and that was hopeful but it was clear her magic energy wouldn't last for too much longer. No matter how many times his stepfather took her to the springs, her magic just wouldn't come back.

And if someone with angel blood ran out of magical energy, or absorbed too much? Well, that wouldn't be good.

Ken's hands shook over the paper, he let out a shaking sigh and dropped it back down onto the bar and downed the rest of the beer in his mug, before handing it back to Mira.

She took it and shook her head. "I'm sorry Ken… this is probably a dangerous mission. I'd go with you but I… I just-."

"Don't apologize Mira, it's okay really," He assured her with a smile, before sighing and looking back to the Master. "Master… permission to take Natsu and go?"

Master Makarov scoffed. "After you spent a month away chasing that last rumor, and then came back after having set a town on fire you want me to just let the both of you run off to a place not even the magic council has been able to reach?!"

Ken winced as Mira put another mug in front of him. Master did have a point, the last lead that he and Natsu had left to chase just over a month ago had been shaky at best, but Ken had been desperate. It worked out well in the end, since now they had been able to bring Lucy back to the guild, but he had been right when he assumed Master would be angry. Makarov had that annoyed look to his eye, but Ken knew it really wasn't annoyance, it was concern.

He spun and stood out of his seat, bowing. "I'm sorry Master… I really am, but you know I can't not go and investigate this."

Master Makarov sighed and met Ken's eyes. "I remember when you first walked into this guild hall with Erza. You were a cocky, arrogant, self-centered brat, I had a hard time believing that people like Gabriel and Itsuki raised you."

Ken cringed at the memory. Master was right, he really hated thinking about how he'd been back then when he first arrived.

"But… as time went on, I saw them more and more in you my boy," Makarov said, sitting with his staff in between his arms as he looked up at Ken. "You've grown not only in size and magical ability, but in the kind of person you are… I'm proud of it, Gabriel is, and I know Itsuki is as well. I know how much finding a cure for her means to you Ken, truly, I'd love nothing more than to see her well again but…"

Ken stood there, chewing the inside of his lip. Praise from Master Makarov meant everything to him.

"But… I also promised the both of them when they sent word you were coming that I'd look after you, and keep you safe," He said, meeting Ken's eye with a serious look. "No matter how powerful you grow, I will keep that promise to my two friends. That is why I'm hesitant to allow you to go."

"Master, I appreciate it but please!" Ken said, trying not to let everyone else hear him to drag down the good mood in the hall. He stepped forward and shook his head. "Natsu and I are strong enough. I'll even ask Gray to come if I have too, but I can't not-."

"Natsu and Gray are both strong, yet still have much growing to do. Besides, the three of you may very well destroy another town," Master Makarov said with a shake of his head. "I will allow you to go, but you must bring another S-class wizard with you."

Ken's stomach clenched. He knew rankings really meant nothing, Natsu was just as strong as he or Erza if he really unleashed all his power, but he knew the Master wouldn't take no for an answer. He knew what the Master really meant when he ordered this.

He sighed and bowed. "Thank you Master. Well… Gildarts still isn't back, Mystogan is well… Mystogan, and I'm certainly not asking Laxus. I'll wait for Erza to come back from her job."

Master Makarov nodded. "That would be for the best. Now, why don't you sit and relax. You've been gone for-."

"MASTER MAKAROV!"

"KEN!"

Everyone in the guild hall turned as the two tiny voices yelling carried through the guild hall, it was followed by two tiny people coming as well.

Ken's eyes widened as they stopped in front of him and the Master. "Shana, Romeo! What are you two doing here?"

"Ken! Romeo tells me Mr. Macao has been missing for a week!" Shana said, wearing the same dress she'd been wearing in the market, she looked up at him with pleading eyes. "What if he's in danger, he could be hurt!"

Ken's eyes looked over to Romeo, who seemed near in tears. He realized that Macao was indeed missing and not in his normal spot next to Wakaba complaining about the young people in the guild. Everyone's eyes were over near Romeo now, who stepped up from next to Shana and looked up at them with pleading eyes. Ken's stomach churned, he knew that look all too well.

"Macao is normally never late…" Ken said, looking to the Master. "Master Makarov… maybe-."

"This again boy? I've told you before, your father is a Fairy Tail wizard he will be fine," Master said, looking down at Romeo. "Have faith in your father!"

"But sir, it's like I told Shana! He took the job on Mt. Hacabe!" Romeo said, looking up desperately. "He said he'd be back in three days and now he's been gone a week, what is something happened to him?! I don't know what I'd do without him here!"

Ken chewed his lip again, and had to turn away from the kid. He could remember saying things similar when he had been younger, it had been why he came to Fairy Tail after all. He loved his stepfather Gabriel; he'd raised him like he was his own without any questions asked alongside his mother.

But, the question had always lingered in ken's mind. Why would he just leave me a sword and go?

His mother was a half-blood angel too, so was his step-father, they had met their full angel parent, they both had, so had most other half-blood angels… so why hadn't he or his brother? Why was his father seemingly missing? And… now why was his brother missing too?

Master Makarov sighed. "It's as I've told you boy! You need to believe in your father! Now go home, have some cookies and milk, and wait for his return!"

A bit harsh Master… Ken thought with a sigh. He felt his own worry start to rise, not only was Macao a friend and Fairy Tail wizard… he wasn't going to risk Romeo ending up like him, even if the chance was small. He was about to tell Romeo he'd go himself, but rationally, the kid wasn't too happy.

"You… you jerk!" He yelled, grabbing a mug, and throwing it at Master's head. It smashed into his tiny Master and knocked him off the bar, while Romeo cried and turned. "I hate you!"

"Wait, Romeo!" Shana yelled, as the little girl chased after him out of the guild hall.

Ken watched them go, not bothering to check on the Master. He would be okay, but the news of Macao clearly had sent the guild hall quiet. He looked around, and eventually he saw Lucy sitting next to Mira. She looked worried, and her eyes eventually looked over to Ken. Ken was about to go over to her, finally congratulate her on getting her emblem before leaving to go to Mt. Hacabe.

But a loud, CRASH stopped him.

His eyes shot over to the job board, which was now destroyed.

"Ken," Natsu said, meeting his eyes, a dark look to them, before he and Happy both started walking towards the door.

Lucy looked over at him, worried, but Ken just met her eyes and smiled, giving her a nod. Natsu didn't need to say anything else for Ken to know what he was saying.

So, he stuffed his hands in the pockets of his trench coat before going after Natsu.

Lucy

"Ken… Natsu," Lucy said, worried as she looked from the destroyed job board to the two boys who were already leaving the guild hall after just returning. "Are… they going to Mt. Hacabe?"

Mirajane behind her nodded. "Probably. Poor Romeo, I bet he's worried sick."

Lucy turned back to her. "I'm guessing that Macao is that boys dad?"

Mira smiled as she looked out at Ken and Natsu too. "Yeah, and a missing father? Well… I'm guessing that hit home for Natsu and Ken both."

Lucy wracked her brain, and remembered Ken telling her about looking for a missing brother, but he had never said anything about his father.

She met Mira's eyes. "I had no idea about Natsu, but Ken I thought he was looking for his missing younger brother?"

"He is, but his brother has only been missing for four years now," Mira explained as she leaned on the counter. "Before that? Well, Ken came to Fairy Tail to get strong and one day find his real father, his stepfather and mother raised him. Ken, his father was an Angel, and Natsu, well his father who raised him was a dragon, named Igneel."

Lucy's jaw fell open. "Woah a freaking dragon seriously?! And… the rumor about Ken being the son of an Angel are really true? I thought it was just like a half-angel or someone descended from one."

Mirajane chuckled. "Haha, nope, a dragon and a full on Angel. Natsu… one day, Igneel just disappeared, and Ken's never even met his father, he only knows that's who left him his sword."

Lucy thought about the brilliant sword Ken had summoned-Aerondight-back in Hargeon, how it had absorbed magic energy. She also thought about Natsu, and how powerful his fire had been, like he was an actual dragon.

Mira laughed again. "Haha, back when they were younger, Natsu and Ken really didn't get along much at all, they were always fighting all over the hall like I told you."

"I remember… I find that hard to believe," She said, remembering the two together in Hargeon. "It seemed like they could practically read each other's minds really."

"Yeah, now they can, but when they were younger they didn't go a day without fighting," Mira told her, smiling as she seemed to fondly remember the times. "But… then they both learned they were really here for the same reason. Ken and Natsu both… they hope that if they become strong enough, maybe one day, Igneel and Ken's father will come back."

Lucy looked out the door and saw Ken and Natsu both walking just out in the street. She couldn't hear what was going on, but they both stopped by the girl Shana she'd met, and the little boy Romeo. Ken and Natsu both talked to them for a minute or so, before patting their heads, and she watched as they both continued walking down town, Ken throwing his arm around Natsu as Happy floated along with them.

So… this is really the kind of people they are huh? She said, unable to not smile as she looked at them before something urged her forward.

Meanwhile, in a forest deep in the wilderness in Western Fiore…

"I can't believe we're really making this our guild hall," Uriel complained, as she slumped against the tree. "Seriously, what a dump, at least Grimoire Heart's got themselves an airship, why can't we get an airship?"

"Do you want to pay for an airship?" Her brother Raphael muttered, combing his long white hair in his mirror next to her. "Seriously, the upkeep would be more than it's worth."

Uriel scoffed and stood, her hair was even shorter then her brothers, falling down near her ears. "Who says we have to pay people? We're angels, people should be lining up to work for us, we're their gods."

Luke sighed, looking over at her, if he didn't put a stop to this now she'd go on for hours.

"Uriel!" He snapped, and right away she stood to attention. "How many times must I correct you? You know I grow tired of repeating myself."

She seemed terrified. Luke wouldn't harm her of course, she was one of their most powerful of them after all. Her and Raphael both wielded divine bows, which would be instrumental going forward. It would take far too long for them to find another of them to wield and perfect the bow Uriel wielded, so Luke couldn't eviscerate her then and there.

And in the end, of course, they were family after all, if he went around incinerating every family member he disagreed with, family reunions would grow awfully dull.

"I… I apologize, brother Luke," She said with a deep bow. "I simply wish for plans to proceed as quickly as possible. I still fail to see the reasoning behind building our guild hall here."

"Oh will you please stop calling it a guild hall you dolt," Raphael said, coming up next to his sister with a roll of his eyes. "You equate us with those pathetic guilds with talk like that."

"Oh piss off Raphael, go back to stroking your hair, your cock, whichever it is today," Uriel snapped at her brother, nose to nose with him. "I'm sorry I found a day of regrowing a forest around this pitiful place useless. Not that you helped, you were too busy beating off weren't you?"

"You little she-devil, I can't believe we come from the same womb," Raphael yelled back at her, tossing his hair behind his back. "You may be my sister, but you're nothing but a hussy and-."

"Oh will you shut up and talk like a normal person?!" Uriel said, turning from her brother. "Seriously, hussy? Who says things like that anymore? You're not some knight-."

"ENOUGH!"

Luke chuckled. "He's back."

Their new 'guild hall', as Uriel had described it, was coming along nicely. They'd borrowed guild members from Grimoire Heart and other dark guilds to build this new base, and they worked well, so Luke had no complaints, but he couldn't help but wonder as well why their father had told them to set their operations so close to the magic council.

But in the last 300 years, Luke had learned to not question his father.

So, they'd done what they were ordered. They set the forest ablaze, before regrowing the thick brush around where the grunts now had the base of what would be their hall already made. After that, they'd set the enchantments around the forest, and now were waiting for orders.

Luke turned and smiled. "Brother!"

"Brother…" Michael said, coming up next to him. "I could hear these two idiots from hallway across the forest."

Michael looked more like their human mother. Luke couldn't even remember her name it had been so long, but he could remember her face. Michael had dark grey eyes to go along with his close cropped white hair still wasn't even balding yet. He didn't look anymore then forty just like Luke didn't, they had the luxury of being supplied with magical energy for all these years from their father, so they had the advantage even over other half-angel wizards. Luke's eyes were blue, like their fathers were, and his white hair was unkept around his ears.

White hair, it had been all Luke kept seeing for so, so long, every day he saw at least one other person with white hair.

"Brother Michael!" Raphael quickly said, elbowing his sister. "You see what you did you tramp?!"

"It all you, you dumb asshat," Uriel snapped at her brother. "I ought to-."

"Do the two of you ever shut up?" Luke groaned. "Seriously, we should have sent you two to Grimoire Heart instead of the triplets."

Michael scoffed. "You can say that again, now, why don't the two of you head back to the border and check the enchantment?"

Luke looked and watched the two of them stammer, he didn't know which one was more embarrassed, and that was hilarious to him. He looked up at he sun still high in the sky near mid-day, they probably didn't have to check the barrier until later, but it seemed his brother really could still read his mind, because the faster the two were gone the sooner their headaches would go away.

Raphael cleared his throat, straightened his white robes and bowed. "Of course, brother Michael, brother Luke. We will move at once, come Uriel."

"Piss off, don't answer for me, I'm the older one anyway," Uriel said with an eye roll, she clearly wasn't happy, but she wouldn't disobey. "We'll move at once, brother Michael, brother Luke."

Luke nodded, and even smiled at them with a wave while his brother just looked at them annoyed. Both Uriel and Raphael rose from their bow, and looked up into the air. The magic of the Angels glew the very familiar bluish green light, and they both lashed themselves up into the sky, taking off towards the barrier into the blue open air. The minute they did, all the black robes workers from Grimoire Heart stopped to look for a moment, before returning to their building.

Michael sighed and ran a hand down his face. "I can hardly believe we're related to those idiots."

"What's the matter little brother? It's as father says, we're one big happy family after all," Luke said with a smirk. "Admit it you'll miss them when they both go to join with the Oracion Seis."

"That would be lying, and you know I would never lie to my big brother," Michael scoffed, turning to the construction. "And will you quit calling me that, you're only a year older than I am."

"Aw, but nobody else in the family gets to call you that," Luke said, ruffling Michael's hair. His brother slapped his hand away annoyed, and Luke laughed again. "Ahaha, it's my exclusive privilege as the oldest in the family."

"A privilege and a curse I'm sure," His brother sighed, looking back at the forest. "I'm still worried we left too much of a trail for the magic council."

Luke rolled his eyes, flicking some dirt off of his white robes. "You worry too much. If those fools on the magic council could break the enchantment they would have by now. You doubt your own abilities?"

"No, I don't… but I suppose you have a point, the only ones who could break the spell wouldn't dare come here," Michael said, looking back at the half-built hall. "Uriel does have a point though… a guild hall seems so… childish. We can soar through the air, why not build something in the sky?"

Luke shrugged. "I've learned in the last few hundred years not to question father. Speaking of him, have you gotten anything? Talked to him?"

Michael sighed, pulling a piece of paper from the back of his white robes. "You know father, doesn't like to come down unless it's absolutely necessary, take a look at this. We're moving soon. We… also may have trouble."

Luke took the letter and scanned it over. Most of it he had already knew. Azrael and Damiel were still undercover in the village, the triplets had gone to join with the Seven Kin of Purgatory and the rest of Grimoire Heart, Uriel and Raphael would go to meet up with the Oracion Seis soon. Father wanted them to finish the hall soon, and then he'd show up and go over their next phase.

It was the 'trouble', Michael was referring too that made Luke shoot up an eyebrow. "So… they're really both still alive, the lost generation, how about that huh?"

"You joke, but it's rather serious," Michael said, taking back the paper. "The two of them could pose a threat."

Luke scoffed. "A threat? They haven't had a chance to take any of father's magical energy, have his training, how could the two of them possibly be any threat?"

His brother shrugged. "I don't know, but don't underestimate the power of vindictive heart. What you and father did to their mother still lingers, the younger one saw you."

He rolled his eyes. "It was my fault for losing the brat, Father still grills me for it. Didn't the older one go and join the Fairy Tail guild?"

"Yes, the guild of Mavis Vermillion," Michael said, sighing and looking up at the sigh. "Ironic? Isn't it big brother?"

Luke slowly nodded, looking up at the clouds with his younger brother as they had done together for hundreds of years, through new siblings, death, destruction, life, ultimately leading them to this point.

"Yes… very ironic indeed little brother," He sighed, crossing his arms. "The older one may pose a problem, especially if he has Fairy Tail's support, the younger one? We can forget about him, he's not important."

"Famous last words Luke," Michael said with an eye roll. "But you are right about the older one, Father also wrote, you saw he gave me permission to deal with it."

Luke followed his brothers' eyes to see where he was looking and when he did, he scoffed and shook his head.

"Are you sure? He's not even had his sibling born yet?" Luke asked. "He shouldn't have come before he had a sibling anyway. Wouldn't it be safer for him to go to the village with Azrael and Damiel?"

Michael shook his head. "Azrael and Damiel are too deep undercover to send someone else now. They'll move soon anyhow. Besides, he won't be alone, I'm sending him to Isenwald. Aragorn and his rabble work with the Oracion Seis."

Luke sighed again. "But didn't we just go over the fact the older one has the backing of Fairy Tail?"

"If what I hear about Aragorn's plans are true, even Fairy Tail won't stop him. He'll be fine," Michael said, looking back over to the workers. "BARCHIEL!"

Luke watched, as the young man looked down from the sky. Barchiel was the youngest of them. Luke had thought it was a mistake for him to come, before his sibling was born. It had been the fault of the lost generation, their bastard mother, that their father was now having a hard time finding a suitable woman to conceive with. After he had with Barchiel's mother, the woman had tried to take him away, much like the lost generation's mother had, but luckily Michael had gotten to Barchiel first for their father.

He was special amongst them, having spent all fifteen years of his life raised by them and father. While his Angel weapon wasn't as powerful as the others, it was still formidable, and Luke had watched him grown greatly in skill over the years. Luke liked to think he could stand up to one of the lost generation, but you never knew with Fairy Tail wizards. If the boy died or was defeated, it would upset Luke.

But he and Michael couldn't show favorites. The two of them made up the first generation after all, it was their job to grow the rest of them to be strong for their father's goal, not to coddle them. Michael did have a good point, this could be Barchiel's first challenge.

And if he succeeded? That was one potential headache out of the way, if he failed? Well, if he failed, Luke and Michael would know that they actually needed to take the lost generation seriously.

"Brother Michael!" Barchiel said, floating down from the sky and landing into a kneel in front of them both. "Brother Luke, it's good to see you both again! Progress is going along well; Grimoire Heart has some very good workers."

Luke smirked, and ruffled the kid's hair, pulling him up. "Stand up kid! You don't gotta bow to us, we're brothers after all."

Meaning I can tolerate you much more then Uriel and Raphael, Luke thought as the kid smiled.

Barchiel like the rest of then had white hair, his was long, tied up above his head. His eyes were a dark yellow, and Luke could see the eagerness in them. Had he really looked that young before? It was odd, Luke didn't look more then forty, but he still thought everyone else looked so young.

"Luke is right, besides we have a new assignment for you. This is from father," Michael said, meeting the boy's eyes and shaking his head. "We believe that the two members of the lost generation could pose a threat to what father and the rest of us plan."

Barchiel's eyes went wide. "The lost generation?! How could they possibly pose a threat to us, they don't have any of our father's power!"

"No, you're wrong. They do have fathers power, they just don't have access to him like we do to empower themselves further, but we must be vigilant," Michael explained to him. "Now, you'll attempt to kill two birds with one stone. You will travel to the Dark Guild Isenwald. They are currently undergoing a plan involving the dark artifact lullaby."

"Lullaby? Didn't Lord Zeraph create that flute? The one which brings death when it's played?!" Barchiel asked, shaking his head. "Such a thing shouldn't be in the hands of even a dark guild, it belongs with us, father's children."

"I agree, which is why you will pose as support from us for Isenwald. Report to their leader Aragorn, and show father's seal and your power," Michael instructed. "We assume the older child of the lost generation will attempt to stop them. He's a member of the Fairy Tail Guild. Defeat him, and then, after that, take the lullaby flute, kill Aragorn as well if you have too."

"Think you can handle it?" Luke asked the kid, knowing his answer.

Barchiel scoffed and held out his hand. "Switch on, Fragarach!"

Barchiel's Angel Weapon shimmered to life in his hand. It coalesced and dripped condensation like it was morning dew. The dark grey blade was thicker at the bottom, coming to a sharp point, with a simple fur grip, and equally boring grey crossguard. The blade was about forty inches long, and its smoke colored blade shimmered in the sunlight. It was boring, compared to some of the other Angel Weapons that they all wielded, but Luke knew personally how dangerous the weapon was, its configurations were deadly, and Barchiel was a great swordsman, and great with his magic as well.

He'd made good use of it.

Barchiel held the sword above his head, its smoke grey blade shimmering brighter. "I swear brothers, on the holy sword bestowed upon me by our father, I will destroy this member of the lost generation!"

Luke couldn't help but smirk, remembering that Michael and he had been like this when they were young as well.

Michael even managed to crack a smile. "Good… I have faith in you. Now go, leave right away. Father will know of what you did."

Luke smirked and placed a hand on the kid's shoulder. "And remember… do not underestimate the Fairy Tail guild, or the lost generation. Fulfill your mission and come back alive."

"I will!" Barchiel said enthusiastically, stepping back and letting his sword disappear into mist. He bowed again, and looked at the sky, holding up his hand. "Lash!"

And with that, Barchiel took off into the sky, and Luke's chest felt heavy.

Michael looked from the sky to him. "Do you believe he'll succeed?"

Luke shrugged, crossing his arms. "I don't know, he has a good chance… but it's like I said, we can't underestimate the lost generation, the older one at least that's in Fairy Tail."

Michael shook his head. "Now you're sounding like me. Barchiel will win, it may be difficult but I believe that he will. Us? We need to see to the finish of the hall, and after that…"

"Yes… it's time for us to see father," Luke said, as he and Michael both walked towards the half built Guild Hall.

I'll never forget that night, the determination of that woman, Luke thought, the names of the first generation coming back to his mind. Will share in her willpower…? Caria… Kenshin?

Kenshin

"Wow, so it'll really come back to you no matter what?" Lucy said from next to him, looking at his sword as the carriage trotted along.

Ken smiled at her enthusiasm; it was seriously cute.

He nodded and held up his sword. "Yup, no matter what. Watch this."

"Huh?" Lucy said, as he turned around and opened the carriage window. "What are-. Huh?! What the heck are you doing?! It'll get buried in all that snow, we're on a mountain!"

Ken laughed, as he watched his sword fall through the window after he threw it out into the passing wind. He saw it for a second fall to the ground before tumbling and disappearing into the snows of Mt. Hacabe, they were pretty far up the mountain now, and they had to kill time somehow. Lucy had watched him cleaning his sword, and cutely was curious about it.

He smiled at her and closed the window before holding out his hand. "Don't worry! Check this out, it's like I said, it always comes back! Switch on, Aerondight!"

Lucy's eyes got wide with amazement, as his sword shimmered out of air into his hand. It dripped like morning dew again and smelled like a fresh ocean breeze. Ken never got tired of summoning his sword. Each Angel Weapon had tons of different abilities and a look that made them unique. The village had a book of them that he'd memorized, but even taking out his bias, he always thought his sword was the most beautiful, the gold runs up the pure white blade, the gold crossguard and pommel, and the pure black leather grip. It felt light as a feather to him now, but he could remember when he was younger that it was hard to even raise.

He held it over to Lucy, who sat next to him in the carriage, as Natsu naturally was unable to speak, motion sick from the ride. Ken felt his stomach tingle, swirling into knots as she smiled and looked at the blade of his sword, he thought it'd be hard to say something to someone he just found so beautiful, but with Lucy? It was surprisingly easy, and he loved it.

"Tada, back safe and sound," He said, as she looked at it amazed. "You see, when I was little, it was linked to be with a spell, a drop of my blood was dropped onto the blade to seal it. So now, no matter what until I die, or I break the spell, it'll always come back to me when I summon it."

"That's so cool! Seriously, whenever I think I've seen everything magic still amazes me," She said, running her finger down the blade slowly. "I thought it was just a regular magic sword!"

Ken chuckled, as they both put their heads down towards the blade. "Well, technically it is. But like I said, it's called an Angel Weapon, there's a few hundred of them and only someone with Angel Magic, angel blood like mine can use them."

"I see… so, how did you get yours?" She asked him. "I've never even heard of Angel Magic. I heard you were half angel, and just assumed you were the only one."

He shook his head. "Nope, there's actually a lot of people with Angel Magic. I'm from a village full of people who are all descended from an angel in some way. Me though? I'm… a bit of a special case, it's rare, but I'm what's called a half-blood."

Lucy nodded, seeming to understand. "Okay… so I'm guessing you're called that because your father is a full angel right? And your mom, was she human?"

"Ha, believe it or not my mom she… she's a half-blood too. Not to sound cocky, but that's why I have a bit more magic energy then usual," He explained, remembering the last time he saw his mother.

Thankfully, before he could frown, before the pain of what happened could come back, Lucy's smile distracted him.

"Haha, you don't sound cocky, it makes sense!" She said, feeling the blade with her pointer finger again. "So, do all half-bloods get swords like this I guess?"

Ken smiled, his chest feeling warm despite the nippy air leaking into the carriage. "Not just Half-Bloods, my half-sister, Aria, she has one, but she's my mother and stepfather's daughter. My stepfather is a half-blood too so Aria's a… quarter blood I guess? Either way it really depends on your strength and magic energy, but it's mostly Half-Bloods who get them, because the Angels are in control of most of them, they give them to their children."

Yeah… I only have this now because of you father, Ken thought, his eyes drifting over to Natsu, and remembering their mission.

Lucy again nodded. "I see… so, you're father gave the sword to you?"

Ken managed a small smile. He looked over and saw Happy had actually dozed off while Natsu groaned and did his best not to puke everywhere. The ride up to Mt. Hacabe hadn't been too long, and they two of them were certainly surprised when Lucy had come chasing after them. Ken had to admit though, he was excited, he'd heard of celestial wizards, Angel Wizards really weren't that much different from Celestial Spirits, Angels like Celestial Spirits were different beings from humans and lived in another world. The only difference was Angels could travel freely to and from heaven and the human world.

He smiled and held his sword out over to her. "Yup, according to my mom, he left it for me, and one for my brother too. Here, wanna hold it?"

"GAH!" She yelled, almost dropping it after she nodded, and Ken handed it to her. However, she looked on with awe and shook her head. "Wow… a real Angel Weapon…. I'm sorry if it was weird that I pried, but Mira told me you and Natsu were both well, looking for your fathers."

Ken's smile waned, but he knew Lucy was only curious. He grabbed his sword back from her with a smile and it disappeared in a puff of cool mist. Sighing, he leaned on his knees, remembering all the years that he'd spent with Natsu looking for Igneel and his father too, before Caria had gone missing, it all seemed like so long ago to him now.

Still… it did make him smile, knowing Lucy was interested enough in him to ask about his past.

"Don't apologize, I don't mind, I'm sure Natsu doesn't either, most of the people in the guild know," Ken said, looking over at his best-friend sick on the seat. "I bet Mira told you how we used to be at each other's throats all the time too huh?"

"Haha, she did," Lucy said, shaking her head. "It's like I said to her, that surprised me. You two were so in synch fighting together in Hargeon!"

"You think so…?" Ken said, feeling himself blush.

"Of course I think so!" She said, sounding genuinely excited. "It may have destroyed the town, but his Dragon Slayer Magic, and just the color and strength of your magic, it was so amazing to get to see it after reading about it!"

"Ha…ha, thanks," He said, not able to look at her now.

His stomach was all tingly, he had people tell him that before and got the same way… but this time it felt different.

"Mhm, you're welcome… and when I saw what you were going to do for that little boy, well, I couldn't not come along," She told him, looking determined now. "I got your backs!"

He couldn't help but smile. "Thanks Lucy, we're happy to have you along. I'm sure Romeo appreciates it too. Macao has been here since before I even started, I can't leave him be."

"It's nice you don't want Romeo to have to go through the same thing…" She said, looking nervous now as she shook her head. "I'm sorry for bringing it up and prying again but, were you talking to the Master about something important?"

Ken chewed the inside of his lip. After hearing what the Master had to say, he had been on the balls of his feet. Macao going missing took priority, but if Erza had been back at the guild then he probably would have headed out with her right away. Erza and her worked like an even more well-oiled machine then he and Natsu did. He loved Natsu, but he tended to get caught up in trying to fight himself, prove his strength and of course, he tended to shoot fire first ask questions later.

Erza and he? They'd been fighting together since their journey to the Fairy Tail together, he'd never forget running into the red haired girl with the eye-patch in the forest. He looked at Lucy then, and saw she did look concerned, her question wasn't out of any desire to pry into his business. He wanted to lay it all out for her, but he held himself back.

He didn't want her, Natsu, or anyone getting any ideas that would put them in danger. Master was right after all, it was an S-class wizard thing, this mission he'd go on with Erza. If anyone knew how dangerous Angel Magic was, it was him.

"Oh, don't worry, he was just giving me an idea about where to go look for my brother," He said, even managing to laugh at the situation. "Ha… I bet you heard Mira talking about it with us."

Lucy chuckled. "Ha, I honestly expected you and her to be related. You both look so much alike!"

Ken had to laugh at that. "Haha, we get told that all the time. Believe it or not, Mira was actually pretty scary when we were little. She used to be an S-class wizard you know."

"Huh Mirajane really?!" Lucy said, sounding surprised, but excited. "I had no idea! Ha, you must all really be close then."

"You bet. Me, Natsu, Gray, Elfman, Cana, Levy, Erza, the older members call us the new generation," Ken explained. "We all basically grew up in the guild together. We all may fight, but we'd do anything for each other. Whenever any of them get any clues about something that could involve my brother well, they always tell me. That's what Fairy Tail's about, being there for each other."

Lucy blushed, smiling at him. "I really like the sound of that…. I'll help you too Ken, and Natsu! If I ever hear anything that could help well, you can count on me. It's the least I can do after you both brought me here."

And her smile only grew, and Ken wanted to look away because he knew he was blushing then. He'd need to go around and have a conversation with somebody, about how he was starting to feel, because he really didn't know what to do next. He thought he saw Lucy blushing around him in the last day or two, but he had no clue what to do next.

He certainly didn't want this chance to slip away from him, not with someone as sweet as her.

"Thanks… it really does mean a lot. But remember the guilds here for you too now," He promised her, smiling and trying to keep the conversation going. "So, you asked about my parents, what about yours? Do your mom and Dad know you came to Fairy Tail?"

And that made her go stiff.

Lucy's eyes widened and she laughed, waving her hands in front of her like crazy. "OH! Ahahaha, my parents?! Of course they know! Ha, I'm really not that interesting at all seriously nothing interesting at all you shouldn't even bother asking about me when you're a freaking angel who can fly and- GAHH!"

"We're here!" Natsu suddenly yelled, perfectly fine the second the cart had stopped moving.

Happy yawned and blinked open his eyes. "Oh, we're here?"

"Yeah, seems like it," Ken said, ignoring Lucy's odd response to his question and going to the door. He looked and Natsu, who nodded to him before he kicked the carriage door open.

"ARGH! It's freezing!" Lucy yelled, as the winds of Mt. Hacabe smashed into them the second the door was open.

"It's certainly not warm…" Ken said, jumping off the carriage ledge and letting his feet sink into he snow.

Natsu finally breathed properly and jumped out with him. "Alright! We're here, now time to find Macao!"

"Are you both crazy?!" Lucy said, coming out hugging her arms and already shivering. "We'll barely be able to move out here!"

"Well maybe you shouldn't have come then Lucy!" Happy pointed out.

"Shut up cat!" Lucy yelled back, making Ken laughed as he looked out at the winding peaks of Mt. Hacabe around them.

He let out a chilly breath and turned to Natsu. "Okay, why don't I take off into the air and see if I can find him. Meanwhile, you take Lucy and go on foot, shoot up some fire if you find him."

Natsu smirked and nodded. "Sounds good to me!"

"Be careful up there Ken!" Happy added in.

Lucy looked horrified. "What?! Ken you can really fly up there?! It's almost a blizzard!"

"I'm wearing a coat," He joked, zipping up his brown trench coat and turning to her. "I'll be alright don't worry! We'll be back at the guild hall before it gets dark!"

And with that he turned, and held up his hand, letting his magic flow. "Lash!"

He took off into the sky, a feeling that never got old.

XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX

"Man… Lucy was right, this storm's picking up, I can barely see a thing," Ken muttered to himself as the wind passed him by. "Well, guess I better warm up at least…. Trace magic structure, project!"

In his hands, fire appeared, and he let out a sigh as it right away warmed his body. "Thanks Natsu."

The ability to make fire at all times certainly was handy one, and it helped Ken then as he landed on a small outcropping of rock at one of the nearby cliffs. He didn't get too far away from Natsu, and Lucy who had conveniently summoned one of her spirits-a giant clock- to hold her inside it so she kept warm. It was a pretty practical use if Ken did say so himself, then of course you had Natsu who was just naturally warm. Ken knew where they were incase he needed to get to them, but he didn't see any sign of Macao, or anything really. Mt. Hacabe was freezing this time of year, and he knew it his friend was in trouble, they would need to find him soon.

Still, he knew he needed to wait for the snow to calm down even a bit, so he held his hand out towards the cliff and let his magic take control.

"Trace magic structure… earth magic!" He yelled, remembering the dozens of earth wizards he'd seen over the years. A small piece of rock shot out from the cliff, and Ken shivered as he plopped himself down under it, wiping the snow out of his already white hair.

Shuddering he hugged his sleeves and looked out over the mountains again. It still amazed him at times he was able to get to places like these. Flying was something that every kid dreamed of when they were younger, wizards and non-magic users alike all had a secret desire to soar through the air and feel like you were free. Of course, Angel Magic made it easy, Ken had been flying since his mother first taught him when he was nine, just before he'd gone to join Fairy Tail.

And in the last ten years, he'd never taken being able to fly for granted.

He smiled and looked at his pendant blowing to the side in the wind, and then back out at the beautiful mountains stretched out before him.

"It never gets old…" He said to himself, standing up from underneath his tiny stone roof and letting the wind nip at his face as he looked down into the abyss at forest beneath the mountains and let out a sigh. "It's just like the view back then… huh mom?"

XxxxxxxxxxxxxxX

"Alright, go ahead, jump!" His mother said, smirking next to him on the cliff.

It never really got to be 'winter' around Haven. It got nippy outside, but where the mountain was located was a lot more rugged and rocky, the dark orange soot made Ken think sometimes he was in a giant oven and he was going to be baked alive. However, that day the air was nippy, they didn't get much snow at all, it snowed once a year if they were lucky, why his mom thought today of all days-with the cold and now wind- was the best day for his first flight alone he'd have no idea.

"J…just jump?!" Ken said, scoffing and crossing his tiny arms. "You can't be serious!"

"I am," His mother said, smirking as she knelt down behind him and poked at the sides of his ribcage. "If you want, I can give you a little push-."

"GAHH NO! MOM NO!" Ken yelled, jumping back, tossing his arms around his moms neck and jumping back from the ledge. He grabbed onto her, and she laughed, grabbing back around his waist and holding him there as he shook holding onto her. "That wasn't funny!"

"Haha, I'm sorry," She said, pulling him off her and staying knelt down on her knees as she held onto his arms gently and squeezed them, smiling as she looked at him. "I knew you were still afraid."

Ken stammered, realizing what she had done. He wanted to snap back at her, but he could never do that to his mom. She smiled at him, her gold eyes even managed to glow in the sunset that day. He hated how most of the kids in the village would always tell him how, 'hot' his mom was. Ken knew his mother was pretty yes, but hot? Didn't they know how uncomfortable that made him?!

His mom looked no older than a woman in her twenties, when in reality she was 91. Angel wizards aged differently then regular people, with such a large influx of magical energy due to their angel heritage, Angel Wizards could live to almost 200, and didn't even really show signs of aging until around 130. His mom, not only was one of the two village chiefs with his step-dad, but a half-blood as well, her mother had been an Angel, so she had even more of a surplus of magic energy like Ken and Caria both did.

She had long hair, that was bright red, and her eyes always seemed to be glowing they were so gold. Even as he stood embarrassed then, seeing his mom smile at him always had him calmed down.

"I am no afraid!" Ken protested, subconsciously stepping away from the ledge. He pouted, with his back away from the drop now and shook his head. "This is nothing at all!"

His mom tilted her head. "Ohhh? If you're not afraid, then why aren't you over the edge flying right now?"

"I… I well… I…" He stammered, turning away from her amused face. "I just got worried about the wind! Yeah, the wind! It's too cold and windy to fly right now anyway!"

"You've flown with me plenty of times in much worse weather than this," She said, resting her hands on her thighs as she stayed on her knees across from his tiny self. "You know how it goes. So long as you keep your concentration, you can stay in control even during a snowstorm."

"Itsuki…maybe this wasn't a good idea," His stepfather said, and Ken turned to see him stirring the massive pot of bubbling stew at their makeshift kitchen they'd set up. He shook his head. "Maybe we should wait a bit longer."

"What?! No, we don't have too! I'm not scared, not at all!" Ken said, looking from his stepfather over to his mother. "I can do it mom, really!"

She chuckled and rubbed his head before standing up. "I know you can, but Ken, you're going to have to take the plunge yourself. That's how my father taught me. It's how you learned too, right Gabriel?"

His stepfather sighed, but smiled and nodded. "It is, my mother was ruthless, grabbed me by the collar and threw me right off with no warning one day."

His stepfather, Gabriel was just as old as his mother, over 90, but looked no older then someone in his twenties. He had puffy combed back blonde hair, and calculating grey eyes which were intimidating to most people, and as chief he had to be. However, Ken knew he wasn't nearly as scary as the people thought he was. His stepfather also had the emblem of a dancing red dancing fairy on the back of his left hand, he'd been one of the members of the Fairy Tail guild, and could have become guild master, but decided to come be chief at Haven instead.

"I can do it! Please dad come on, I wanna fly too!" Aria yelled from behind him, coming back to her father with an empty plate in her hands. "I can do it, I've done it with you a hundred times!"

Aria, his half-sister was the spitting image of both Ken's mom and Gabriel. She was only six, but already had really good control over her Angel Magic. She had a red ponytail, and her fathers grey eyes, but they weren't nearly as intense. Ken could only describe his sister as a tiny red puffball of nothing but pure energy.

Gabriel scoffed but laughed and rubbed her head. "Oh no, not happening. Not now at least."

"Ughhhh it's not faaaaaair!" She yelled, shaking her head back and forth. "How come Ken gets to try and I don't! Mom!"

His mother laughed and looked over at her. "You'll fly soon enough Aria, just relax. Today, it's Ken's turn. Now, come on Ken, lets try jumping again."

Ken's stomach churned. "B…but what about the wind?!"

"It's dying down I think," She said with a smirk again.

Ken stiffened and shook his head. "I… I don't know! It's not that I'm scared or anything, not at all! I'm not scared of anything, I… I just think we should wait-."

"Will you quite complaining and just go!" His brother's annoyed voice said, and Ken turned to see him glaring at him, very annoyed as he sat on their picnic blanket. "Seriously, stop being such a wuss and just do it! You're lucy enough to get to do it now, so do it!"

"Caria…" Mom started, narrowing her eyes at his brother. "Don't say that to-."

"What did you call me?!" Ken yelled, stomping towards his brother.

Caria scoffed and shot to his feet. Ken and he despite being a year apart in age looked almost identical in terms of heigh and build. Caria's white hair was a bit longer then Ken's, down near his shoulders and messy, and his eyes were gold like their mothers while Ken's were blue. Other then that however, it was like Ken was looking in a mirror.

His brother narrowed his eyes and got nose to nose with him. "You heard me! You're being a wuss! Mom says you need to jump so you can learn to fly on your own, I can't believe you can't do something so simple!"

Ken blushed, embarrassed, but he couldn't let his brother make fun of him like that! "Oh yeah?! Well why don't you go and jump off the edge then?!"

Caria balked, going red as he shook his head. "I mean I… I totally could! But it… it's not my turn today! If it was, I wouldn't be a wuss like you-."

Aria giggled from the other side of their camp. "HAHA, you're both scaredy cats!"

"SHUT UP ARIA!" They both yelled turning to their sister who just laughed at them.

"Okay, enough, all three of you," Mom said, coming and putting a hand on both he and Caria's shoulders. She looked down at Ken's brother. "Caria, you get to go next year when you turn nine like we promised. Ken, come on, let's try it again."

The two brothers both groaned, but they knew better then to argue with their mother. Ken let her lead him back over to the ledge. He gulped as his mother stood there just over the ledge into the mountainous ravines below, looking at the forests beneath Haven, and just how long of a drop it was. She was right when she said Ken had been out flying with her dozens of times since he'd been born, so it wasn't like he didn't know the proper form of how to fly, or the area around where he was supposed to leap off now.

But the idea of jumping off without his mother? Of jumping off by himself at all? It was horrifying.

A tiny pebble fell and tumbled down the cliff, and Ken gulped, his legs shaking. He shook, until he felt his mother grab onto both his shoulders, and looked straight up to see her smiling down at him, rubbing both his shoulders reassuringly.

"You know, it's like I said, it's okay to be afraid," She told him again, her soft smile the most reassuring thing Ken could ever remember. "I know I was when I first had to jump."

Ken went red and looked back down at the ground. "I told you already, I'm not scared! Not at all! I'm not a weakling, only cowards get scared!"

"Being scared doesn't make you a coward, it makes you human. We may be part divine, part angel… but Ken, never forget that you're also human," She said, as Ken slowly looked up to see her un-waning smile. "It's okay to be scared, besides, the only time we can be brave is when we're afraid."

Ken gulped and looked back over the cliff. "You… were really afraid to do this too?"

"Of course I was, but once you do it, you'll never be scared to fly again," She said, reaching down and touching his cheek and shaking her head. "Ken, you'll never face a more fearsome opponent in life than yourself."

"M…myself?" He asked her. "What does that mean?"

She never stopped smiling. "It means no battle you fight will ever be as fierce as the one you fight against your own emotions. Never tell yourself you can't do something or give up. The only person that can truly stand in the way of anything you ever want to do, whether that's to defeat an enemy, protect the ones you love… or even fly, is yourself."

"I'm the only one standing in my way…" Ken said slowly, looking over the edge, taking another step closer, both his toes over the cliff now.

"Aha, now… why don't you show him just how tough you are huh?" She said, and Ken realized, she'd taken her hands off his shoulders and stepped back. "It all starts with a single step."

Ken shakily sucked in a breath and turned back quickly. Mom stood there, Gabriel next to her, and Aria in front of him. Even Caria stood next to their mother watching him.

And then, he turned around and looked over the edge again.

"A single step…" He told himself.

That was all the start of a journey took.

XxxxxxxxxxxxxxX

"A single step…" Ken said, looking over the snowy peak, wondering how he was ever scared to fly that day. He turned on his ledge, and unfortunately unlike that day, saw no faces looking back at him.

He'd have given anything to be back in that moment, even for a few seconds.

It was amazing to him how different things were now. Despite how long Angel Wizards lived, Ken's life then had still felt just like yesterday.

Now, Caria was gone, his mother… almost gone, finding Caria was her only hope. Every single day that went by, was another day closer he was to losing her, to losing his mother and that smile that had trained him for so many years, loved him for so many years. He wouldn't let her down, she'd never asked him for anything her entire life, and now it was his chance to repay her.

"I'll do it… don't worry mom, just like I jumped that day," Ken muttered, looking out over the cliffs again. "The only person standing in my way is me…. Okay, first though, I should-."

A massive BOOM cut him off, and he spun around to see the snow off the side of a nearby cave explode.

"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"Natsu…?" Ken said, seeing a tuff of pink hair fly out of the cave, followed by a blue cat flying after him. His eyes went wide and he leapt off the edge, putting his hands to his head. "Where is she at…. Trace magic structure! Telepathy magic!"

Warren hadn't been back at the guild for a while, but that didn't mean Ken hadn't been able to copy his telepathy magic. It would let him hear the thoughts of anyone in the guild, and while he knew Natsu would be okay especially with Happy going after him, he still didn't see Lucy.

He flew towards the cave he'd seen Natsu fly out of. "Man, I hope she's-. GAH!"

"GAHHH TORUS SNAP OUT OF IT AND GO BACK! IF YOU DO YOUR AXE WILL DISSAPEAR! GAH GET AWAY FROM ME YOUR CREEPY MONKEY!"

Ken's eyes widened, and he yelled over the wind as he zipped through the sky towards the entrance to the cave. "LUCY!"

"KEN?! GAHHHH NOW I'M HEARING VOICES!" Lucy yelled through the telepathy magic in his head. "GAHH I DON'T CARE HELP MEEEEE!"

"HOLD ON!" He yelled, seeing the cave where Natsu had fell.

Over the years Ken had nearly perfected landing, which his mom had always said was the hardest thing to do. To land at different angles, to fight while in the air and land successfully, it all had to be very precise and intricate, you had to pull your body and use your magic in the right direction at the right speed. It had taken him a while, but by now, he knew exactly what he was doing.

He tucked his arms behind his back and going head first he burst into the cavern that he had seen Natsu fall out of. He was moving fast, but was able to see a giant Vulcan overtop of Lucy who had fallen back on the ground. Ken knew he didn't have time to summon his sword, or project any magic missiles, so when his feet touched the ground, his momentum carried him forward, and he shot his magic energy through his body.

One of the first things you learned with Angel Magic, was how to disperse your magic energy throughout your body. All wizards naturally were a stronger then regular people who weren't trained, magic energy was able to enhance their body to be able to take out and deal more punishment. With Angel Magic however, those who had it, had a huge excess of magic energy naturally, allowing them to move quicker, throw more powerful punches and stay in fights for longer.

Ken would never forget, when his mom was training him and Caria, for a few years before they even learned how to use their swords, they would simply fight each other hand to hand, or fight their stepfather, or even their mother herself. Ken knew pushing his magic energy to his fists, legs, everywhere in his body let him move faster and punch harder when he wanted.

"KEN?!" Lucy yelled, as Ken slid forward just as the Vulcan was going to grab her.

"BACK OFF!" Ken yelled, and as he got to the Vulcan he kicked his leg low, and knocked the monster off its feet. He came around after it was falling to the ground and threw a punch forward, it smashed into the Vulcan's chest and sent it flying backwards and smashing into the wall.

Ken saw snow and bits of rock collapse over it. He stood in front of Lucy for a moment with bright bluish green magic energy shooting off his arms and legs. After a moment, he realized for the moment the Vulcan wasn't getting up, so he let out a sigh and let the magic disappear, turning around to see Lucy started to get to her feet.

"Are you okay?!" Ken said, grabbing her hand and helping her up. "What the heck happened to Natsu?"

He knew Natsu wouldn't get taken down by a Vulcan of all things.

Lucy let out a relieved sigh. "That thing started talking! Natsu thought it may know where your friend was, so he tried talking to it, and then it punched him out of the cave!"

Ken let out a sigh. "That's just crazy enough that I believe it. What about you, you're not hurt right? I heard you screaming."

"Heard me?" She said, looking surprised. "So it was you I heard in my head! How did you do that?!"

Ken smiled. "A friend in the guild has telepathy magic, it lets him communicate telepathically with anyone that has the Fairy Tail emblem, I copied it and heard you."

Lucy looked at the pink emblem on the back of her hand. "Wow, you definitely have a lot of useful spells…. I tried to summon one of my spirits, but he got hit in the head and dropped his axe! That monkey picked it up, and then tried to grab me! I'm sorry you had to go through that trouble to save me again."

Ken scoffed and shook his head, smiling at her still. "Don't apologize, you're a member of Fairy Tail now, my friend, so long as I'm around nothing will happen to you!"

Right away, he choked, realizing how cringy what he said had been. He meant it, but when Lucy blushed he realized what he said could have an even deeper meaning. He would say the same to anyone in the guild, but to Lucy it felt different.

Seriously… I need to talk to someone about this, anyone! Ken realized, nervously rubbing his head as Lucy smiled back at him.

"Ha… thanks, I promise I'll repay the favor one of these days!" She said to him.

He nodded. "I know you will, now we should-."

"Arghhh… NO! MY WOMAN!"

Ken spun back around, and Lucy yelped, stepping back behind him. The Vulcan had gotten up, and now looked really angry. Ken wasn't afraid, but knew Vulcan's were shapeshifters, and getting hit by one wasn't exactly pleasant. People tended to believe Angel Wizards were invincible, but that was far from the truth. If you hit Ken hard enough he'd die, just like everyone else.

"Lucy, stand back!" Ken yelled, holding up his hand.

Magic circles formed around his left and right, and in the palm of his hand. The second thing you learned as an Angel Wizard, was how to focus your excess magic energy outwardly instead of just inwardly. Channeling it inwardly let you move faster, but Ken's mom had taught him early, the biggest advantage of being an Angel Wizard, what made them so powerful was their ability to channel the magic energy in the world, and how to bend it to your will.

If Ken focused his magic energy outwardly like this, magic circles could appear and he could fire missiles of magic towards any enemy. It was a simply offensive tactic, but if he wanted, he could control the magic energy around the Vulcan itself to freeze him in place. You could do this against any enemy or creature, but was hard because they would naturally push back with their magic energy, so unless you were stronger then who you were trying to hold in place you wouldn't be able to do it for long.

The real versatility in this ability, was manipulating other objects, however. If Ken wanted to-his mother and stepfather did this very well- he could fire the missiles of magic he had, but at the same time control the magic energy of one of the larger rocks nearby and fire them at his enemy as well. Being able to control the magic energy in the air gave you the ability to effectively use telekinesis.

The thing his mom had always stressed to him, was that Angel Magic, was versatile, and could be used for offense, defense, support. You could adapt it to any situation.

Ken still wasn't anywhere near as powerful as his mom was. She was the most powerful Angel Wizard of this generation, for hundreds of years, and his stepfather Gabriel wasn't that far behind. He'd had the most amazing trainers and family any young Angel Wizard could ask for.

And now, this was the one time he needed to finally be there for them, like they always were for him. However, it wasn't just his mother, stepfather, sister, and brother who he looked for, that he had to be there for nowadays.

It was also his Fairy Tail family as well.

"Be careful Ken! That thing may look dumb, but it's really strong," Lucy said from behind him.

Ken shook his head. "Don't worry, I'll stop it before it."

"ARGHHHHHHH GET OVER HERE YOU STUPID MONKEY!"

"GET DOWN!" Ken yelled, turning back and taking Lucy to the ground as a blast of fire went over their heads.

Quickly he rolled off her and they both shot to their knees, as the cave wall burst open again.

Ken's eyes went wide. "Natsu! Ha, great job as always Happy!"

"Thanks Ken!" Happy said, flying over to him and Lucy.

"Happy! You went and grabbed him?!" Lucy asked the cat.

Happy smirked and nodded proudly. "Aha, he's heavy but I'm super strong you see!"

Ken chuckled and rushed forward. "Getting knocked out of the cave by a monkey, really Natsu?"

"Hey, shut up man it took me by surprise!" Natsu yelled, before growling and turning to the Vulcan. "Alright you stupid monkey! We're not leaving without Macao! Ken!"

"Right!" Ken yelled, rushing forward toward the Vulcan with Natsu.

The Vulcan growled and rushed at them to. It came with a large punch which Ken ducked and slide under. Natsu came in, dodging the punch and launched one of his own, hitting he Vulcan back, and that was when he reached out his hand.

"Switch on, Aerondight!" Ken yelled, as his sword coalesced into form and landed in his hand with a spray of mist.

Sword training, wasn't something that his mother had even started until Ken had been seven. She told him, that he needed to learn how to fight with his brain before he could fight with a sword, which really meant he needed to control the rest of his Angel Magic first. His mother was a dueling champion, she made sure to stress how lucky Ken was to have an Angel Weapon. She stressed as well, that while some Angel Weapons were more powerful then others, it ultimately came down to the skill and magic of the one wielding it.

All Angel Weapons could absorb Magical Energy and then disperse it, but each had its own special quirks and powers. His mom had an Angel Sword, and so did his stepfather originally, but he had given his sword to Aria a few years ago Ken knew. Then of course, their real father had left Ken and Caria both of their weapons. Mastering the powers of your Angel Weapon, and combining that with your Angel Magic, that was how regular Angel Wizards became legends.

It was what his mom and stepfather had done, it was what Ken wanted to do.

"Natsu!" Ken yelled, holding up his sword. "Aerondight, elemental overedge!"

"On it!" Natsu yelled, bringing his hands to his mouth. "FIRE DRAGON ROAR!"

The fire came, but the Vulcan jumped out of the way, but luckily Natsu had been aiming for Ken. Ken held out his sword. Aerondight had the ability to absorb any element into it to power the sword, powering it up and giving Ken ways to redisperse that element. So, when the fire hit his sword, it glew, the blade started growing hot and started to become red colored, and that was when Ken stuck it into the ground. Fire shot from the sword in a wide arc, setting the Vulcan's butt on fire, making it yell and jump up and down.

Ken's sword had dozens of other abilities he could call upon, but he knew that one thing all Angel Weapons had, was one final trump card, and that was the ability to unleash all of the magical energy it had stored up. This was the only time having a more powerful Angel Weapon came in handy, the closer your Angel Weapon was to being one of the first few ever created, the more magic energy it could hold. Of course, the attack also relied on the user putting his or her own magic energy into the attack.

If Ken had overloaded his weapon in that cave like he had in Hargeon two days ago, he'd more then likely collapse the mountain.

"HAHA! FIRE DRAGON WING ATTACK!" Natsu yelled, opening his mouth.

That was another part of his swords power. Since Ken had been the one to unleash the fire, they were no longer Natsu's flames, which let him sucked them up, and unleash his powerful attack. It slammed the Vulcan into the ground, and then he landed next to Ken.

Ken shot out his hand. "Trace magic structure! Dragon Slayer Magic!"

Finally, copying spells was seen as the ultimate trump card for Angel Wizards. Of course, Ken's copy of Natsu's spell wasn't as powerful as Natsu's spell itself. Still, copying the technique and style of magic used by someone else, require a great amount of concentration and familiarity with the person who's spell you were copying.

According to his mom, only a few Angel Wizards could pull it off, but it was possible with real magic as well.

Natsu smirked and his hand erupted into flames. Ken smirked back, as his did the same.

"FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST!"

"Haha, they beat it!" Happy yelled, as Natsu and Ken's flaming fist smashed into the Vulcan and blew it back against the wall of the cave.

Ken swiped his sword through the air and let it disappear in a puff of wind, before letting out a sigh and looking over at the Vulcan they had just beaten. It wasn't moving now, sufficiently knocked out while still breathing so if it could talk, they could question it.

Natsu next to him, sighed, but smiled holding out his fist. Ken managed to smile and give him a fist bump, turning to see Lucy and Happy smiling as they rushed up towards them. That calmed him down, as he and Natsu both turned back to the monster, and Natsu walked over towards it.

"Alright, that's enough now!" Natsu started. "Tell us what you did Macao you… huh?!"

"It's… changing!" Lucy said from behind them.

Ken scoffed, and relief washed over him. "Vulcan's can shapeshift, thank god we found him when we did."

Macao formed out of the Vulcan's body, and it didn't take long for Natsu, Ken and Lucy all to help him onto a blanket. He was in rough shape, but Ken knew he'd had much worse before. He used his magic energy to try and recharge his old friends, but he knew that he'd end up being okay in no time.

The whole time while Macao talked to Natsu, telling them what had happened, introducing himself to Lucy, Ken could only sigh and fall back onto his butt and smile.

I couldn't let poor Romeo go without a parent… I know what that's like, Ken thought, looking down at the angel wing again. Mom… it won't be long now, I promise.

Lucy

"Ha, you still seem cold," Ken teased, as they walked down the street. "Maybe next time you volunteer to go on a mission up a mountain you'll remember a coat."

"Shut up…" She said, shivering still, looking ahead of them at Natsu, Macao and Happy. "Either way, I'm glad to see everything ended up okay in the end."

It warmed her heart seeing Natsu joking around with the older guy, Happy chiming in now and then. The way back had been easy enough going back down the mountain. Ken had offered to fly Macao back, but the older guy said it would've made him more sick, and he didn't want to leave anyone else behind. Lucy didn't mind, it meant they got to talk a nice walk through town like this as the sun was starting to set.

"Yeah… it is nice," Ken said, looking over at Macao again, before his head fell. "Really nice… I'm just happy Romeo won't be missing his dad anymore."

Lucy felt her stomach tingle. Ken had been like this the entire walk back, something was bugging him, but she had no idea what. She'd held back, because she didn't know if they were close enough yet for her to ask such personal questions… but she couldn't stop herself that time.

Don't apologize, you're a member of Fairy Tail now, my friend, so long as I'm around nothing will happen to you! Ken had said that, so she was determined to have it the other way around.

"Ken… are you okay?" She asked, stammering when he looked up at her. "N…not to pry or anything but well… you've seemed a bit off since we started on our way back. Sorry… we don't even know each other that well really and-."

"No, it's okay, thanks for asking, I guess I have been a bit of a buzzkill," He said, nervously rubbing the back of his head looking forward at Macao and Natsu. "I guess well… seeing this had got me thinking about my dad, and my mom."

Lucy nodded, it made sense now. "Oh… I understand now. You're thinking about trying to find your father right? It makes sense that-."

"Oh no, not my birth father," He said, shaking his head, a smile coming to his face. "I'm talking about my stepfather Gabriel. Macao, Romeo… this whole situation reminds me of him, and my mom."

Lucy was confused for a moment as they walked. "You… said you were looking for your birth father though, right?"

"I am, but not to beg him to come into my life or anything," He said, looking into the sky. "I honestly, just wanna thank him for my sword, my powers, for giving me the magic I need to help people. But, Gabriel? It's his last name that I have. He's been there for me my whole life, he never second guessed me or my brother, treated us like his own right from the start. And… he's been there ever since my mom got sick."

Lucy felt bad now, bringing up such a sensitive topic, but… he was talking, and didn't seem to mind too much.

"He sounds like he's great, your mom too," She told him as the guild hall came into view. "Have you not seen either of them for a while?"

"No, I see them at least once a month but… well…" He said, before letting out a sigh, his word seeming shaky now. "My mom she's… been sick, for four years, and it doesn't seem like she's getting any better. My stepfather he… he's been taking care of her this whole time, while I've looked for Caria."

That was something Lucy could relate too… thinking of all the letters she had to her mom that would remain unsent.

He shakily let out a breath. "My brother Caria… he was with our mom before she was found sick four years ago. We have no idea what's wrong with her, but Caria's disappeared. He's the only one who could possibly know what kind of spell or curse took my mom that night… so I've-."

"You've been looking for him… to help your mom," She said with realization, her eyes widening, even feeling like she was close to tears. "Ken I… I'm so sorry, if I had known I wouldn't have asked-."

Still, miraculously he smiled.

"Ha, you apologize a lot don't you? Don't worry, it's okay," He said, looking towards the guild hall. "Besides, everyone in the guild knows. They've been helping a supporting me this whole time, I honestly don't know what I'd do without them. With their help… I'll find my brother, and I'll cure my mom, if it's the last thing that I do."

And like that he was back, the Ken she'd gotten to know in the last few days. He was really good at that, one moment he could be ready to fight an enemy to protect her or anyone in the guild, and a second later he'd be back to the blushing, stammering boy she'd come to know.

Yes, Kenshin Kokoro wasn't anything like that article in Sorcerer Weekly made him out to be.

She smiled at him, new determination filling her. "And you will, I know it. Someone as strong as you, you won't have any problem!"

He did it again, Lucy had noticed it, but didn't know if he was just naturally nervous, or if it meant something else. He looked so embarrassed, got red in the face whenever she complimented him. She wanted to think it was because he was starting to like her, but she tried not to get too excited, it had only been two days they'd known each other, plus some people just naturally blushed.

"Ha… thanks Lucy," He said, his white hair blowing back in the sunset breeze. "Um… do you maybe want too-."

"DAD!" "MR. MACAO!"

Lucy was a bit annoyed he got cut off, but remembering the voices, she turned with Ken to see Romeo and Shana both rushing over towards Macao, who Natsu let off his shoulder.

Ken chuckled and leaned over to her. "Shana's mom and Macao have been dating lately, they you could say they're all pretty close."

"Aw…" Lucy said, as Natsu joined them and they watched the reunion.

Lucy saw Macao hugging his son, even doing to the same to Shana as he promised them he'd never go missing like that again. She could remember how excited the little girl had been when she met her earlier on their way into the city, and tried to imagine her and Romeo both excitedly getting their Fairy Tail emblems like she had that morning.

She looked down to the back of her hand, smiling, unable to believe that in just her first day she'd already had such an amazing adventure, although she assumed that this was far from the last one. Especially with the two boys and blue cat behind her.

Ken sighed, and stepped between them, and Lucy saw each of his arms drape around her, and the other around Natsu, with Happy landing on his head.

"All in a days work for Fairy Tail eh?" He said, smiling at them both.

Happy proudly stood up on his head. "You bet it is!"

Natsu scoffed and smiled. "Yeah… it was a good day," and then, Natsu looked over at her. "Thanks for tagging along Lucy!"

Lucy was surprised, but then saw both Natsu and Ken smiling at her. "Ha… well I'm just glad I could even help a little bit."

Ken smiled and nodded, looking between them. "Alright! Natsu, Happy, what do you say we have Lucy here join the team?!"

Her heart jumped from her chest.

"Huh?! Team…? With the two of you?!" She said, looking at them with wide eyes. "Are you serious?"

"Three of us!" Happy noted, smiling from atop Ken's head. "I say I approve!"

Natsu smiled and shrugged, looking at Ken. "I don't see a problem with it!" He looked and smiled wide at Lucy again. "She is really nice! What do you say Lucy?"

Lucy was thankful but a little embarrassed, because she was nice, and not because of her skills as a wizard? Either way, she was grateful, and looked over to Ken, who pulled his hands back and clapped his hands together.

"Okay it's settled!" He said, his cute smile not leaving her. "What do you say Lucy? Wanna turn Team KN, into Team KNL?"

Natsu glared at him. "HEY! I thought we agreed the N came before the K?!"

Ken scoffed. "The N can come before the K when you finally beat me."

"I've beaten you plenty of times I'll do it right now Angel Boy!" Natsu yelled back at him.

Ken narrowed his eyes. "You don't wanna do that, I'll knock you-."

"YES!"

They both shut up and turned back to her.

Lucy chuckled, and smiled nodding at the both of them. "Yes! I wanna be a part of your team!"

That seemed to defuse the situation, because both of them unclenched their fists, and started to smile.

Natsu smirked and pounded his fists together. "Alright, welcome to the team Lucy!"

"Aye! Fairy Tail's strongest team is even stronger now!" Happy said, landing on his head.

Ken chuckled, and smiled at her, the sunset making him glow. "Yeah… welcome to the team Lucy. Now, how about we all get dinner to celebrate? I'll buy-."

"HEY! NATSUUU! KEEEEN!"

They all turned around to see Romeo standing next to Macao with Shana. He smiled ear to ear waving at them all.

"THANKS FOR BRINGING MY DAD BACK!"

Lucy's heart warmed, as he saw Ken go red, flustered, he waved back. "NO PROBLEM!"

"YEAH! NONE AT ALL!" Natsu waved back.

"YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOME!" Shana yelled as well, waving to them. "ONE DAY WE'LL JOIN FAIRY TAIL AND REPAY THE FAVOR!"

Natsu and Ken smiled, waving back to them both. Lucy was about to turn and walk down the street again… but the same voices stopped her.

"AND LUCY! THANKS TO YOU TOO!" Romeo waving at her enthusiastically.

"YOU'RE THE BEST LUCY!" Shana waved too from the other side of Macao, her smile infectious. "I'LL BE JUST LIKE YOU WHEN I JOIN FAIRY TAIL!"

And she finally did let a tear slip. This was the reason she had come to join Fairy Tail, and the reason she wanted to use magic, to help people like this.

She laughed and waved. "HAHA YEAH! NO PROBLEM!"

"Alright! DINNER TIME!" Natsu yelled, throwing arms around her and Ken's shoulder before smirking over at Ken. "AND KEN SAID HE'S BUYING!"

"Ha… I'll come to regret that I'm sure," Ken said, as they all with Happy flying overhead.

Lucy just let them take her along, and it was then, as with her new team they looked for somewhere to eat dinner together, it all finally set in.

She was a member of Fairy Tail, it had only been a day, but she already loved this guild!

Next Time, Season 1, Episode 3: The Wizard In Armor!: After a week of being in Fairy Tail, it's been a whirlwind of adventures for Lucy! After returning from the Everlue Manor and her first official job with her new team however, she notices something seems to be bothering Ken. However, his mood suddenly changes, when Erza Scarlett finally comes back to Fairy Tail! She's one of Lucy's idols, but why does it bother her seeing how close her and Ken are?! Ken meanwhile, finally sees Erza back to the guild, but his own mission will have to wait, when Erza puts together a powerhouse team to go combat a new threat she discovered while out, this will really be the strongest team Fairy Tail has ever seen!

A/N: Chapter 2 of Fairy Tail is in the books and this was soooo much fun to do haha. So, as you can all see by reading the next episode part, we're jumping right into the Lullaby Arc next with Isenwald. I'm skipping over the Everlue mission because well… nothing would change lol. It would be exactly like the show, except Ken just makes the whole job a lot easier, I don't think that would be too fun to read. If you've read my stories, you know that unless my OC changes things up enough I tend to skip over some chapters lol

I initially was gonna skip over this arc too, but in the end I wanted to use it to get some flashbacks in for Ken and further explain his powers from his perspective and not Lucy's for you all to have a better understanding. (Also if you look at the VA choices, notice how Ken and Caria are Deku and Bakugo xD)

As for this chapter however, we get an introduction to who will be the main villains for Ken that I added into the Fairy Tail story, they're a bit of a mystery right now what their motives are and all, but I will say we're going to see them all keep popping up, including in the Lullaby Arc coming up!

So, as for Ken and Lucy, as I said, Tower of Heaven is the arc they'll get together in, if not definitely Battle of Fairy Tail, but what do you think of it so far, are they moving a bit too fast or is it believable? I really love Lucy, like a LOT, so I wanna do her justice haha.

SO, the next chapter of this story may take a bit longer since I wanna catch up on some of my other ones, but be patient, it'll be here soon! In the meantime if you want check out my other OC stories haha.

But as for this story, I can't wait to explore Fairy Tail and Ken's relationships with other guild members more soon. I hope you all enjoy! Please, give this a review if you got time, and stay tuned for the next one!
