Progress report!
Hello, everyone! Long time no see! (Unless you've been reading In Another World With My Smartphone: The Lost Hero, you guys saw me last month, -and the next chapter will be up soon)
The first thing I would like to do is apologize for the long wait, but I didn't just want to keep posting these update chapters (Especially since FFN tends to frown on these, so I need to be careful how often I employ them.)
But since I have decided to post one, it means we are close for the reboot to kick off and I wanted to share some new details on not just what to expect, but to also brief you on my general plans for the stories in the Untold Universe going forward.
First thing's first: Titles.
The original version of this story was just called: The Fafnir Knight and was first published 9/11/2018 (With its Multiverse code name being Project Knighthood.)
The first reboot which is this version, is of course called: My Hero Academia Untold: The Fafnir Knight and was published on 3/7/2019 (The Multiverse code name being rebranded to the Untold Universe)
So I would like to official announce the new title for the second soft-reboot, (because, I didn't just want to put Redux at the end of the main title and chapter title)
The reboot will be called: My Hero Academia Untold: The Knights of Fafnir, I found the new title will be much more fitting with my future plans. Though there will only be one true Fafnir Knight.
The Prequel Story had followed a similar pattern with it came to the titles. Draco Knight and My Hero Academia Untold: Draco Knight.
Since the prequel is also being rebooted, under the title My Hero Academia Untold: The Black Dragon Knights which will be a much more suitable title that will make sense once it concludes. In addition, I can confirm that this story will contain 16 Chapters, (1 prologue, 1 epilogue and 14 normal chapters)
The third and new story My Hero Academia Untold: The Shields of Spring and the multiverse code name will remain unchanged.
Second: New stories
I have a new story for the Untold Universe, My Hero Academia Untold: Sidestories.
Before anyone worries about me overburdening myself out, hear me out. Sidestories is a purely supplemental project that covers content was the cut from earlier drafts of previous chapters.
For example, for readers who remember the TV show Animal Buddies and remember that Eri participated in a segment in the live show, but we skipped into the next scene. Yeah, I actually wrote the whole thing before I decided to cut out due to pacing issues and the fact didn't add much to the plot.
Sidestories is simply an excuse for me to release a ton of cut content that were parts of earlier drafts. (This includes a few gags that so desperately wanted to write but couldn't because the tone shift for some these scenes were so bad, it would have ruined the chapters they were featured in)
In short, Sidestories won't take much extra time except proof-reading them from their early draft versions.
The second "story" if you can call it that would be making an anime op/ed for each of these stories. (Again inspired by Viridescent by Darkfire1220) But these will also cover The Black Dragon Knights, Sidestories and The Shields of Spring
While mostly for fun, these will also be used for some major foreshadowing if you play close attention to the details.
Third: Expectations
While I'm not done, I am to the point where I can share some new details and confirm other details I wasn't sure about just yet.
First the is number of chapters.
My Hero Academia Untold: The Fafnir Knight currently has 38 official full chapters with two omake chapters.
My Hero Academia Untold: The Knights of Fafnir turned those 38 chapters into 44 full chapters with the occasional intermission chapters (2 thus far) which I'll go into more detail once the reboot goes live. This does not include the new Sports Festival Chapters (of which I currently have 4 finished with the rest on their way)
My overall goal is to be finished with the Sports Festival (which actually isn't too long thanks to my hard work without planning) so I can have a head start with the fourth arc (I will not have a break between arcs this time to make up for all of the lost time)
This is why I needed the reboot. The reboot helped me get some much needed breathing room to start the Festival with a real bang! (Yes I am talking about that little chekov's gun I set up.) I can't wait to finally get to reboot off the ground.
Fourth: Execution
Once the reboot goes live (I will release one final update chapter to announce the official release date for the Untold Universe)
The plan is to update story roughly every 4-6 days until we catch up to where we left off. (Sorry for wanting to rebuilt my audience with the reboot, plus, there are new chapters with new details so like ways I recommend to take your time reading.)
In addition, some Mainline chapters will accompanied by companion chapters from the other stories.
For example Chapter Three of The Knights of Fafnir will be accompanied by the first chapter of The Black Dragon Knights on the same day.
This will give you an idea of the best time to read these supplemental works to get the most out of this project of mine. (That being said, they are still not required to read to follow the main story, but it does make certain things much more clear)
In conclusion
I think that covers everything I wanted to say for the time being. Again, I'm almost done with everything, I just need to do a bit more work to give all of the best story I can produce for your enjoyment.
Again I am sorry for the wait, but I am hoping to prove to all of you that it will be worth it when it comes time to show you the fruits of my labor.
