Shelby Lays the Mac Down

I walked into Hollywood Arts that morning. And found Tori's make it shine locker.

The moment I got there, like flies to honey her friends began to gather.

One by one or two by two of them would come to her and chatter around her.

Did my sister not realize how popular she was? Finally Andre arrived and my heart was a flutter. But I couldn't let him know it was me.

So I closed my locker and turned to face them all. Andre smirked and said, "hey Tor… let's take a walk."

He wrapped his arm around me and led me away from the crowd.

My body tingled where he touched me. "So what's your plan?" He asked

"For what?" I asked furrowing my brows.

"To get with the only planet that doesn't orbit around your star?" He said signaling with his chin.

I turned my head and saw Jade applying Mascara at her locker. "I don't know D-Andre, maybe I'll have Shelby come and hit on her and make her like me? You know Cyrano that bitch."

Andre quirked a brow, " it could work, that girl has lots of confidence. But didn't Roxanne end up falling for cyrano?"

"She liked the face first… and we got the same face." I answered as we ended up in a theater-like room alone.

" you really don't." He said facing me. Then he kissed me. "Tori doesn't cuss."

"Fuck!" I sighed. He laughed

"Don't worry no one else knows you are a Vega."

"Okay, so does Tory not know she is popular?"

Andre shook his head. "Not really." He shrugged. It's what makes her more lovable."

I sighed. " not to Jade."

" let me tell you something about Jade…" he said "you gotta get her alone, you got to let her know something good about herself. I've told your sister this, but she gets all tongue tied."

I nodded "thanks for the tip… give me a ride home tonight?"

"Sure Chizz," he said and walked away towards class.

I walked out of the theater, my hand digging in my bag for Tori's phone so I could check her schedule. I stopped by a bank of lockers and someone was standing there texting. I looked up as I pulled out the phone, and I quickly hit the camera app because there she was angry texting. Jade west."Has anyone ever told you how sexy you are when you're angry? I said.

Well she was…

Jade stopped dropping her texting hand. "Excuse me?"

"Do you remember our date?" I asked, she shifted. "I had the best night with you after that song. You are probably awesome to love, if you let yourself." Shelby shrugged "No pressure Jade is cool"

"Don't be weird Vega." Jade said and walked off to class. I finally got to Tori's schedule and it was Sikowitz… which I knew Jade was in. should have just followed her.

I sighed and headed in that direction and sat in a chair right behind her.

I took out Tori's notebook. I was supposed to take good notes. But this was Sikowitz and she would be fine tomorrow. So instead, I wrote. "Sorry for being weird, you kinda drive me out of y mind. I know You might kill me, but, I think you're so pretty. And I've come to learn that to me that's not a bad thing."

I ripped the whole page and folded it n eights and dropped it on her lap. She looked back at me and turned back to Sikowitz. She opened the note and stiffened. Then she wrote one line, folded it up again and stuffed the paper down my boot leg.

I smiled and reached for the note. It read. "Are you gay Vega?"

I didn't know if this was what Tori had in mind, on the one hand it would make what I am doing clear, but on the other side if she is not out in school, maybe she wants to stay in the closet. I thought of texting Tori. but then I wrote this instead. "I know what I like, there are no labels here."

I passed the note and she sighed. She pulled out her phone and leaned back in her chair as if she were listening.

TOri's phone buzzed in my pocket and I pulled it out.

Jade: Don't you know how to text

I smiled and answered.

Me:I thought the note would be a tad more.. IDK romantic… kind of old school. I needed to make you look.

Jade: You're an idiot.

Me:you think so?

Jade: I said it.

Me. Look Jade, I just wanted you to know what I think of you, and that I would like to go out and get to know you. For real.

Jade:Well you should be a woman and ask me to my face.

I Quirked a brow.

Me: You think I won't?

She turned back to me and rolled her eyes. So I stood and walked to the front of her seat. Jade looked up at me and I willed her to recognize the question in my eyes. "Do you want me to say it outloud?"

"Uh, Tori…." I heard Sikowitz behind me "I'm in the middle of a lecture."

"I just got a challenge from Jade, I want to know if she meant it." I said turning back to the girl in question.

She looked around then her eyes locked with someone's behind me then she looked back at me.

"When?" She said. Softly.

I leaned forward. " I don't know, I don't think you're ready for me yet." I whispered then sat back down. Then I turned to Sikowitz. "Proceed."

Later that day I was in Andre's car he was wrapped around me as we made out. We separated and I took a deep breath

"Oh god, thank you." He said.

I looked at him and smirked. "We didn't do anything"

"Girl, we did a lot." he said. "We haven't had our first date yet."

I smirked. "I can't wait."

"Tori is going to kill you, you know?" He said as I straightened my clothes out.

"What do you mean?"

"You came up so strong, Jade is probably plotting to hurt her now." He said. "She isn't a fighter like you."

"Oh I am making sure that she is… where do you think she was all day?"

"Is she at the gym?" I nodded with a grin. "Yo, Vega is going to be ripped."

"Besides I figured Jade would appreciate her confidence and how ripped her body is going to be."

"That;s if Jade even swings that way." Andre stated. "We still don't even know what her preferences are."

"Trust me she looks at Tori the same way you look at me…" I paused and turned coquettish eyes to him. "Do you want in my pants?"

"Okay then." He said then came loser to me and messed my clothes up again.
