Tori Baffles Jade

I saw the video, and I read the texts I don't exactly know what the note said, but I got the gist…. I'm nervous.

She told Jade she wasn't ready… as if it were a challenge… "Oh God…" I said shaking my arms out as I stood out there staring at the school entrance.

But before I stepped into school someone stood in my way. "What makes you think that like girls?"

"I- I Just thought I'd shoot my shot."

" so shoot it." She said arms akimbo

"NO… I think I was clear." I said and began to back off. Forget Jade, I wasn't ready for this. I didn't have the words. "I would rather you be sure about it."

"Look, Tori… you're cute. I'm single right now, and the way you came up to me yesterday, made me think about you differently."

I swallowed "Is that a good thing?"

"That depends…" Jade said and turned.

"On?" I asked, but she kept walking. "Jade! On?" She kept moving. I side and lean back on Trina's car. What did she mean?

I limped a bit into school my muscles were sore from the workout the day before, but not as painful as they could have been. Shelby said the ice bath was to make sure I was able to move today.

I watched Jade as we went about our day. Most of which I avoided talking to her. The next day I watched a video of Shelby talking to her and the utter confusion on Jade's face. Then I went to school the day after and practically ran from her. Not that she was chasing me at all. You Know Jade. She's the picture of cool at all times.

By the third round of Shelby sweet talking her, I walked into school and did not see her. I relaxed and went to my locker like normal. I started to prepare for class and as I pulled my last book out of the locker the locker shut in my face.

I looked up at black-painted fingernails. I followed the hand to a black leather-clad arm and to a really angry set of blue eyes. "What's your Deal, Vega?"

"Ummm…" I stuttered. "I- I…"

"You tell me all these things one day then avoid me the next." she spat out. Her other arm caged me in. "I don't understand you,"

"I really like y-you… but…" I tried she looked at me with angry eyes not softening a bit. "Like I…"

"Oh, I know you like me…." She said. "I just don't get what you are doing?"

I took a deep breath. I could perform in front of thousands, but this girl had me completely twisted. "Okay… I want to ask you out. I'm just afraid…"

"Of Me?" She asked.

"Yes… Wait, NO." I said. "Look… I'm just scared that I won't be enough for you,"

She looked at me then stepped back uncaging me. She just stood there and stared at me. Then she turned away from me. She didn't have anything to say. And she left me alone.

When I got home that afternoon I was devastated. She didn't talk to me the rest of the day… and I wasn't avoiding her. All I did was scare her way. I told Shelby about the conversation and Shelby sat with me.

"God, THing Two, you really boffed this one up."

"I know." I said, dropping my head on my pillow."

"I'm not going back," Shelby said.

"Shelby, Please!" I begged my sister.

"We are beyond a time where you need my confidence," Shelby stated. "You need to prove to her now that you think you are good enough for her."

"Right… Your confidence."

"No… Yours." Shelby responded. "We move differently out here. She needs to see you. So I'm not going back."

I sighed, She was right. But she didn't see how Jade looked at me when she walked away. But I looked at Shelby and she looked determined. I will try to get her back on board. I need her.
