A/N I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their support of this fanfiction. It has been amazing, and I wanted to get your opinions on a few things, First, I'm thinking of ways for May, Ash, and Brock, to keep all their Pokémon on them, even going past six. Second, I've been thinking of a few ideas for future chapters, and one of them was for Ash and May to compete in a couple contest. The final one was somewhere down the road, I was planning on giving May a Pichu and having them have a relationship like Ash and Pikachu. Let me know what you think of the ideas, and if you have a good idea of your own, please PM me. Again, thanks for your support.
A couple of days have passed since the Blake incident, and May has gotten over it. The gang had run into Team Magma and Team Aqua again and learned that both teams had blue and red orbs, and May's Silcoon had evolved into a Beautifly while Jesse's Cascoon had evolved into a Dustok. Professor Birch had left the gang, and now that the gang was around, Brock was making sandwiches. "Hey Brock, what kind of sandwiches are they?" Ash asked the Pokémon breeder.
All of the Pokémon are out of their pokeballs. Anticipating lunch, Brock chuckled at the Pokémon's impatience. "Everybody be patient; you're just like your trainer," Brock joked.
Both Ash and May gave the breeder a glare. "What's that supposed to mean?" Both May and Ash asked.
Brock nervously chuckled, "Nothing; I was just joking." Brock replied, "Or was I?" He mumbled under his breath, which neither Ash nor May heard.
"Hey, Corpish, do you think you can help with the salad?" Brock asked the Pokémon.
"Corpish" It responded happily.
Corpish jumped onto the table. "You can start by cutting the vegetables," Brock told it.
Corpish did as it was told as it began slicing the vegetables. "Wow, Corpish is really good at cutting," Ash remarked.
Corpish then scuttled over towards the sandwiches, Alarming May, wanting to eat the sandwiches. "Wait Corpish, don't cut the sandwiches," May told the Pokémon, but it was too late; Corpish diced the sandwiches into crumbs.
"Dig in," Brock nervously said.
Everyone spoons their meals into their mouths, but is glum about it, especially May. "I really wanted those sandwiches," May said in sadness, her love for food apparent.
"This is all your fault, Corpish, and I hope you feel bad about it," Ash told his Pokémon, but Corpish only snapped its pinchers and appears to be happy regardless.
"Well, Corpish appears to be happy, and the answer is no," Max said.
Ash sighed "Something has to be done about his attitude quickly," Ash said.
We join Team Rocket as they approach an abandoned mine. "You know, this used to be a gold mine," James reveled to Jesse and Mewoth.
Jessie is thrilled to hear this used to be a gold mine, and she laughs to herself, as she imagines herself surrounded by gold bricks. "Um, Jess, this mine hasn't been operational for years," James clarifies to her.
"Yes, but if we find gold, the boss would give us a big promotion." Jessie remained him.
With James now on board with their plot, the trio begins searching for gold. They find a mine cart, and they use it to go deeper into the mine. Everyone becomes more nervous in the pitch darkness and creepy atmosphere of the mine. They then saw two shining eyes and a toothy grin in the distance, and they became even more frightened. James pulled the brake with a sharp stop, throwing Mewoth, The smiling figure approached them, with James and Jessie putting the trolley in reverse, leaving Mewoth by himself. The smiling figure approached Mewoth, and Mewoth looked at it and screamed. He tried to run, but he tripped and fainted. The mysterious figure, Sableye, pokes at Mewoth and scratches its head in bewilderment.
James and Jessie, now outside of the mine, poke their heads out and now realize that Mewoth is now missing, James and Jessie then heard Ash's voice, and they turned towards the group, crawling out of the trolley, followed by Wobbfuet.
"So, this place used to be a gold mine?" May asked Max.
"Yeah I'm pretty sure, but my Pokenav doesn't have any information on this mine at all," Max replied.
"It looks like to me, that his place has been abandoned for a long time," Brock added.
After finding that the lights still work, "This will be a great place to test out courage," Ash said.
May, though, seemed reluctant to enter the mine, as she found the place to be really creepy. As she held onto her boyfriend's shoulder, her grip tightening around his shoulder, Ash let out a small chuckle, and her grip on him tightening around his made him feel good, to know she came to him for protection and comfort, and anytime he felt May grab him, it would make him feel warm, as he loved to feel his girlfriend's touch. "Don't worry, May, nothing's going to happen, and I'll protect you," He said, giving her loving peck on the lips, making both of them blush.
May was comforted by his words, as his grip tightened a little less, but she still held onto her boyfriend for comfort, and she returned with a peck on the cheek. "Thanks, Ashy," She said.
"So, why do we come for anyway?" Max asked Ash curiously.
"For some training, maybe we could scare Corpish, So it would calm down," Ash replied.
Ash then secretly whispered his plan to the group, "I think your plan is going to work great." May cheerfully remarked.
Ash blushed at his girlfriend's praise, and she asked Max if he would join, to which he agreed to. Unknown to the gang, both Jessie and James, hiding behind crates, had overheard the gang's plan.
"This would be a perfect time to steal Pikachu," Jessie said.
"Maybe we should tell the twerps about the ghost," James suggested.
Wobbufet was about to speak, but both James and Jessie covered its mouth. To avoid being caught or discovered, May and Max entered the mine in a trolley, May held onto her brother's shoulder with a strong grip, still scared, but she wanted to help her boyfriend. "Sis, let go of me," Max said.
May let out of her shoulder "Sorry" May said.
Max then smirked, "I'm not Ash, you know." Max teased his sister.
May blush a bright pink "Shut up," She said.
"Max, we'll have to dress up as ghosts, to scare Corpish," May explained to her brother.
May hands a white sheet over to Max and grabs it for herself. "I don't know about this, sis," Max said, still skeptical of the plan.
Meanwhile, Mewoth was awakened in a mine control room with Sableye standing over him. Mewoth was frightened of it. "Please don't hurt me, I'll do anything," Mewoth said before recognizing it was Sableye.
Sableye then explained to Mewoth that he loved to scare humans and that he didn't mean any harm to Mewoth. Sableye then brings out a rock, crunching part of the rock with its teeth. "I haven't eaten all day," Mewoth said.
Sableye handed the rock over to Mewoth, but Mewoth realized it was rock as Sableye laughed. "That wasn't funny," Mewoth yelled at the Sableye.
Mewoth then realized that Sableye just wanted some company. Mewoth then asked where they were, and Sableye answered they were in the mine control room. Mewoth then noticed on one of the surveillance screens showing May and Max were huddled in the mine cart. Sableye then invites Mewoth to help scare the twerps. Mewoth agreed with Sableye, hoping to find the treasure for himself.
Ash walked along the rail track, wondering if May and Max were ready to go. Ash hoped his girlfriend wasn't too scared, as he was feeling bad for making her do this. Well, he didn't force her to; she agreed to do this, but still, he felt bad. Ash sent out Corpish. "Corpish it's not time for battle; I'm going to test our courage," Ash told his Pokémon.
Corpish seems to be disappointed. "You better watch your attitude," Ash warned his Pokémon.
There's a ghost in the mine," Ash said.
A waling sound is heard. "Sounds like there's one now," Ash said.
The plan seemed to work, as Corpish seemed to be frightened, moving its pinchers in a frantic manner. May and Max soon appear from behind from a nearby mine cart and approach Corpish disguised as ghosts. Corpish seemed to be paralyzed with fear, and Ash chuckled, as his plan seemed to be working. However, the entire plan went wrong, as Corpish attacked the "ghosts", knocking the cloths off, revealing it to be May and Max. Staggering from the impact, promptly tips, causing her and Max to topple into a trolley, Furious that it had been tricked, Corpish charged the trolley, sending May and Max further into the mine "Corpish, stop; we're trying to test your courage," Ash said, worry on his mind about his girlfriend and her brother, hoping they wouldn't be in any danger.
Further in the mine "So, that was an amazing plan, huh?" Max asked sarcastically.
"I didn't know Corpish would attack us," May replied.
The siblings then heard a sound, and Sableye, with eyes gleaming, appeared. May and Max looked frightened and screamed as Sableye revealed its sharp teeth, but then soon Max realized that the ghost was actually a Sableye "May, calm down, it's only a Sableye," Max said, assuring his sister.
Sableye then jumped onto the celling, and May scanned the Pokémon with her Pokedex: Sableye, the Darkness Pokémon. Sableye normally live deep within caves and eat rocks. They use their sharp claws to dig through the earth.
Both May and Max were irradiated at Sableye for scaring them. May called out her Torchic, and she told it to use Ember on Sableye, to teach it a lesson. Sableye dodged the attack by crawling on the celling before leaping down and using lick on Torchic. May was distraught that her Torchic was dizzy, and she recalled it. Mewoth soon joins Sableye, and with a remote with in his hands, he captures the siblings in a drop net, and they demand to be released.
"Let me go," May said.
"Just wait and see when Ash gets his hands on you," May said.
Mewoth was tired of hearing May's mouth, and he scratched her cheek, causing her to scream out in pain. "Shut up," He told her.
Blood trickled down her cheek from the scratch. She put her hand on her cheek, with blood covering her glove, as a few tears trickled down her face. Back with Ash, he had just exited the mine and saw Brock standing there. "Well, the plan failed, and Corpish found that May and Max were ghosts," Ash reported to Brock.
After realizing May and Max hadn't emerged from the mine yet, Ash and Brock decided to go searching. As they enter, Mewoth spots them on the surveillance system. Mewoth assures Sableye that they are still best friends and that they will have more fun scaring more people, and Sableye nods, so they leave to frighten their next victims.
"They're best friends?" May asked, as she wiped some of the blood off her cheek with her glove.
"Mewoth is probably just using Sableye," Max replied.
Max looked at his sister, concern in his eyes, as blood still trickled down her cheek from the cut, with her gloves being covered in her own blood from her wiping the blood from her cheek. "Are you okay, sis?" Max asked her, concern in his voice.
May smiled sweetly at her brother. "I'll be fine," she replied.
Corpish angrily scuttled along with Ash and Brock. "How long are you going to be mad?, And it's your fault for May's and Max's disappearance," Ash told his Pokémon with anger.
Angrily, Corpish raised its pincers in the air and muttered, "Ash, maybe you shouldn't have mentioned that right now." Brock stated awkwardly.
They saw a trolley up ahead. "Maybe May and Max are in there," Ash suggested.
Corpish appears to be frightened of the trolley. Ash and Brock investigated the contents of the trolley, but they were disappointed that nothing was in it. With Ash distracted, Sableye lowered itself from the celling and licked Ash's neck. Ash is startled, and asks if Pikachu did it. Pikachu shook his head no in reply, leaving Ash confused. They soon heard a voice and attempted to locate where the voice was coming from. "Did anyone hear that?" Ash asked.
"I got the strangest feeling that we are being watched," Brock commented.
Sableye then licked the back of Brock's neck, startling him. Mewoth, decked out in garments and a veil, slapped Corpish with a fan. Corpish turned around and saw nobody around. "Brock, what's in here with us?" He asked the breeder.
Corpish waved its pincers and exclaimed repeatedly, "What's wrong?" Ash asked it.
Corpish then tackled Ash "What was that for?" Ash asked defensively.
Pikachu jumped in front of Ash to protect him, and Corpish slammed into Pikachu. "Knock it off, Corpish" Brock commanded her.
May and Max watched the scene from a computer monitor in the control room, but felt helpless to intervene. May then brought out Torchic, but Torchic was still frightened from earlier. "It looks like Torchic still hasn't recovered from earlier," Max said.
"Torchic please use Ember," May gently told her Torchic.
Torchic then used Ember to burn through the net, releasing May and Max from the net. May then recalled Torchic. "C'mon sis, let's hurry and help Ash and Brock," Max said to her, with both of them rushing over to Ash and Brock.
The situation had escalated as Pikachu launched an attack at Corpish, but Corpish leapt to evade it. Corpish aimed his bubblebeam at Pikachu, but Pikachu jumped over it. The pair confront each other, with Pikachu's cheeks sparking from the tension. "Stop it, both of you," Ash commanded his Pokémon.
Mewoth then shot a net and captured both of the Pokémon. A burst of laughter alerts both Ash and Brock to the culprits, Mewoth and Sableye. "We're best friends," Mewoth declared.
The siblings then rolled in on the mine car. "Don't listen to him, Sableye, he's lying to you; he's just using you," May said.
Sableye turned to Mewoth and turned his head in confusion, Mewoth quickly tried to defend himself. "Get them," Mewoth commanded.
Sableye looked doubtful. Jessie and James then appeared and cited their motto, "Good work, Mewoth." James congratulated him on his capture, while Jessie grabbed the net, which contained Pikachu and Corpish.
"The jig is up," Mewoth announced, jumping into the cart with his teammates.
As Team Rocket rides away, Sableye remains behind, fuming with anger. Ash calls out Tailow, who quickly catches up and begins pecking Jessie's hair. Jessie throws a bomb. The explosion caused the celling to crack and a rock to fall. Sableye points in a direction in the mine and urges the gang to follow it, which they do.
Team Rocket is sprawled out on the ground, safely outside of the save. "That was close," Jessie remarked.
Mewoth said that he felt bad for tricking Sableye, and they argue over who's to blame: "This was my fault." Ash asserted, the gang had reached a ledge.
Both Corpish and Pikachu cheered happily at Ash's appearance, and James and Jessie told them they were safe, while Mewoth asked if Sableye was safe. "Yeah, it's safe, no thanks to you, Sableye even helped us," Ash replied to the question.
Sableye yelled angrily at Team Rocket. Ash then commanded Sableye to set Pikachu and Corpish, and Sableye got the net back from Ash and released them, Ash then told Corpish to use Crabhammer and Pikachu to use Iron Tail. They both did so, slamming into Team Rocket. Sableye then used Night Shade, causing an explosion and sending Team Rocket blasting off.
As soon as Team Rocket blasted off, May went over to her boyfriend, gave him a hard slap on the cheek, and stormed off angrily, leaving stunned Ash, Brock, and Max. "I deserved that," Ash said.
"Yeah you kind of did, Ash," Brock said sheepishly.
Ash let out a sigh, knowing May was pissed off at him, He really didn't know how to deal with this situation, but he picked some flowers and began searching, He found her on a ledge, watching the ocean. Ash took a seat beside her. "I'm really sorry, May. I shouldn't have put you in a situation like that." Ash apologized to her.
May's once angry eyes, softened a little, and she let out a sigh. "It's okay," she said with a small smile.
Ash then handed over the flowers as an apology, making her smile more wider, and she gave him a peck on the cheek, making both of them blush. Ash then softly touched her scratch, making her flinch a little, and a littleb blood smeared on his glove "Are you okay?" Ash asked, concern in his voice.
May smiled, at how concerned her boyfriend was for her. "It stings a little, but I'll live," She joked.
Ash chuckled and grabbed some wipes from his bag and began cleaning the scratch. As May would flinch, after cleansing the scratch, Ash put on a band-aid on the scratch. "There you go," Ash said.
May smiled and gave him another peck on the cheek. "Thanks Ashy," She said.
Corpish then approached, and it looked guilty at May. "Corpish" It said.
May looked at Ash for clarification. "I think he's trying to apologize," Ash told her.
May softly smiled at Corpish. "It's okay, Corpish I know you didn't mean it." She told the Corpish, petting it.
Corpish danced around, making May giggle, while Ash chuckled, "So, you like her, huh?" Ash asked in a joking manner.
Corpish pincers in happiness make both Ash and May giggle/chuckle
