Jorge requested that more people come to retrieve the things, and with that, they announced that several groups of rebels scattered throughout the city and some leaving from the Augury base were coming to the port. However, we had been the first to enter, as the site had been spotted and reported, but no one dared to venture in. Additionally, according to the radio reports, the current objective was to seal the tunnels of the antlion, because there was almost no Combine presence in the city.

As we passed the entrance, the volume of the resistance voice we heard through the headphones gradually decreased. The doors closed, and red lights turned on. After a few seconds of suspense, we heard that voice once again, the one we all had heard before:

"This is a war zone, is this what you wanted?! I should kill you myself to leave all of us in peace. Let it be known that not all of us in this city pose a threat to civil protection, an effort that strives to protect us from people like you."

"It seems he forgot that the ones who initiated the quarantine were the Combine. If they hadn't done that, none of this would have happened. But of course, the fool who speaks through all their communication systems doesn't know that."

"If you think I can't hear you, you're wrong! I've set a trap for you, and I know... we know where you and that… extraterrestrial are! I'm not speaking to you through the city's wiring; you're in my base now."

The port's speakers seemed to be connected to a wireless communication system, so he was telling the truth. He not only had the ability to monologue across the city, but he could also communicate throughout this location and activate the security cameras.

"Stop speaking in plural; we know that only you believe you're the good guys."

"You'd be surprised at just how WRONG you are."

There's a brief moment of white noise, indicating the communication was cut.

Something tells me he didn't set all this up for us or anyone who would come here. We might have reached where he's been hiding all this time. I don't think he'll let us leave until the Combine cavalry arrives, which might be never. We need to deal with him.

I attempted to guide Jorge to the location where I had a feeling Dimitry might be. We found ourselves in a place with scattered weaponry, a computer with over a dozen monitors, all displaying the site's cameras.

"Was this the plan? His trap was... to leave?" Jorge pondered.

"Some monitors are off. Maybe they point to where he's heading."

As I explored the area, Jorge tried to turn on the monitors.

"Faraday, give us an image. You might be right. Go find him; I'll try to guide you from here. Actually, I see a microphone. Maybe I can talk to you through what Dimitry was using. However, it might take a while for me to figure out how it works."

I followed Jorge's lead and began searching for him all around the port. I found the area where the ships were docked—quite spacious, with an indoor section covered by a metal roof, as well as open outdoor space, while the containers seemed to create a labyrinth.

Some doors were locked for Combine security, as if there was a way to manually seal off all the exits. Curiously, though, some were still open. I was certain that it was toward this area that Dimitry was heading.

"Testing, one, two, three, testing. Are you still there 'Dimwitry'?" Jorge inquired as he started to be hear in the communication system of the location.

"I haven't gone anywhere! I'm just preparing..."

"Oh, sure, whatever you say. Look, since you have a walkie-talkie or whatever it is to talk through the same system, can you tell me why you had to set up explosive crates? Or are you going to claim you know nothing and that it wasn't you? You killed people in the worst way possible, it was practically a backstab."

"Listen," Dimitry cleared his throat, "I didn't force anyone to grab an ammo crate. Everyone who used them knew what they were doing. I killed people who caused chaos and fear. So, if they hadn't armed themselves, they wouldn't have fallen into that trap." Everything was saying in a full security tone, completely convinced of his own explanation, almost practiced.

"Then, we were supposed to follow orders to stay put and let them take us by force? As far as I know, you were at the Augury base, and you probably had this planned even before all of this started. You're not one to follow orders either."

"I'm more useful here! And I was right! Look at how things turned out!"

"Your attempts to help civil protection didn't do much either."

"No?! If my help hadn't worked, you wouldn't even be here in the first place! Do you know how clueless the resistance is? 'Oh, help, I'm a scared child, let me stay near the storage where they keep everything, and I won't budge from here.' And they believed it! I did it three times! The third time, I had to kill a guard or two, but I'm sure when they realized it, it was too late for the lambda group, I am right?"

"Confirming that you're a coward. Come on, you have to pay. Surrender along with everything you stole, and maybe we won't hurt you… too much."

"That..." He responded in a low voice, getting closer to the point where you could hear the air from his mouth "will be over my dead body."

I was searching for Dimitry throughout the silent location. Some of the ship containers were closed, and others were open. It was impossible to know which one we were looking for, so confronting the owner of this place was necessary. Occasionally, the silence was broken by exchanges between Dimitry and Jorge, hurling insults through the intercom.

"They will come. You won't have their forgiveness anymore, but I will."

"Dimitry, I was just thinking, if civil protection heard the things you say through 'their' system of public verbal communication, or whatever they use, I doubt they'd be pleased with your rosy speeches. You're taking something away from them just like you did with the rebellion, do you realize that? Don't you?"

"You respond clumsily, but bravery won't save you."

"Cowardice won't either, clearly, in your case. Also, think about this: Do you think with everything going on outside they'll have time to reward your so-called collaboration? Do you think anyone will surrender right now after all we've fought for?"

"I've seen how they take prisoners from several resistance members, even when they were armed. I know there's humanity under those mysterious uniforms, they have something for us. They just need to trust."

"Trust them, go ahead. You know what they'll give you? Electric shocks, punches, kicks or cuts..."

I heard him angrily hang up.

"We shouldn't waste words on him, Jorge."

"Haha, sure, he probably doesn't want to hear. It's fun to get under his skin. He's an idiot; I don't know if you know everything he's been doing since the war started, he doesn't deserve anything other thing than this treatment."

Both of us were convinced of the outcome. I formed several ideas about what Dimitry had prepared, but I didn't know what I was about to face.
