I'm glad that a lot of you guys like how I handled Roman in the previous chapter. However, it's come to my attention that some of you guys might be concerned about me making him insane or a psychopath. That is not the intention, the plan I had was to have Roman be a mix of professional, villainous, and sadistic. The reason I had Roman laugh in the previous chapter is because Roman is the type of person to mock people when he's able to. He knew that the students or the Professors were coming so he prepared for them to come. He also knew that they would fail to stop breach and because the breach happened because of him. It was a significant victory for him, so his laughing was a way for him to rub the situation in their faces.
It slipped my mind to mention this but allow me to explain Baiken's Semblance. Baiken's semblance in this story is called Enhanced Senses. She is able to enhance her five senses to incredible levels that is similar to Daredevil. For example, she can see at far distances and can see through walls as well as in the dark. Her sense of touch is more sensitive and she can hear as well as a Dolphin or a cat. The drawback is that she can only enhance one sense at a time and has to wait a few seconds before she can activate her semblance again. If she enhances all five of her senses, she will suffer from sensory overload. Another thing to know about Baiken in this story is that she is very skilled with her strong aura.
Chapter 37 Grimm Breach
(The Central City of Vale)
When Ruby looked at the Malachite Serpent and saw it empowering the Grimm making them abnormal. She was filled with a strong sense of purpose that is mixed with fear. Ruby is seeing the danger that the people are in and the situation that she's in is the reason she wanted to be a Huntress. Though the sense of fear she has comes from the possibility that she may not succeed in dealing with the present threat. But she knows that her fears doesn't matter right now. What matters is dealing with the Abnormal Grimm and the giant snake with whatever she can do.
Before Ruby could think of a way to attack the giant serpent. One of the Abnormal Beowolves leaped towards Ruby. Reacting quickly, Ruby used Crescent Rose to leap to the air to avoid the attack. After she leapt to the air, Ruby fired her weapon in the air to land quickly. After she landed, Ruby tried to attack the Abnormal Grimm. Unfortunately, the scythe bounced off of its hide and Ruby was slightly knocked back. After Ruby was knocked back, the abnormal Beowolf Grimm let out a roar in Ruby's direction and she was pushed back further. Ruby was able to regain her ground, by stabbing into it with Crescent Rose. Unfortunately, the abnormal beowolf quickly charged to Ruby with a ravenous look in its eyes. While Ruby didn't recover enough strength to counterattack or avoid it altogether.
Before the abnormal beowolf got too close, its face was suddenly hit with a flaming ball. The hit was strong enough to briefly stagger it, which was able to save Ruby. After seeing the abnormal Beowolf staggered, Ruby fired at it with her weapon. This time though, she fired at its legs using the ice dust rounds and succeeded in trapping it. Before the abnormal Grimm could break out. Dr. Oobleck appeared and smashed its head with a great deal of force thus killing it.
"Thank you Doctor." Ruby said in a grateful tone to the Huntsman
"WOOF WOOF." Zwei barked at Ruby
"I'm sorry, thank you too Zwei." Ruby said to Zwei before she took a look at the Malachite Serpent
"It appears that we've come across a creature of some significance. Both to the current crisis we're in and that of the past." Dr. Oobleck said while getting a confused look from Ruby
"What do you mean Dr. Oobleck?" Ruby asked in a tone that is mixed with caution and curiosity
"I'll give you more details later, but what you should know is that this isn't the first time the Grimm have gotten stronger. In fact, these empowered Grimm were common during an entirely different time. A time that all of Remnant would will wish to forget about. A time that was ten years of pure despair." Dr. Oobleck briefly explained to Ruby while she quickly showed a look of a shocked realization
"You mean that giant snake has powers that's similar to the Aura Beast?" Ruby asked in a slightly panicked tone
"Exactly my point Ms. Rose, though keep in mind that this is merely speculation. For all we know it could be a coincidence. Or this serpent is a survivor from the days of the Aura Beast. Most would jump at the chance to study it, but the fact that this creature is too dangerous means one thing. For the sake of the people, we must destroy that giant snake." Dr. Oobleck told Ruby while looking around and seeing more abnormal Grimm surrounding them
"Before we can even deal with that snake. We have to deal with these Abnormal Grimm, I've recovered some of my strength and aura. So I'm ready for the creatures." Ruby said to the Doctor
"Indeed Ms. Rose but remember there's too much we don't know about these creatures. So we must be on our guard when engaging them. While also saving civilians should we come across any." Dr. Oobleck said before the both of them proceeded to fight the abnormal Grimm
(A different part of Central City)
So many things happened so quickly after the explosion. Though Yang had some trouble collecting herself, she was able to heal up quickly due in no small part to her aura. When she looked around, she saw the giant snake that's bigger than a king taijitu and more armored. Another thing that made the giant snake stand out to her is that it is malachite green. While Yang is feeling a lot stronger due to her semblance, she is sore all over and the headache is taking a bit longer to go away. Before Yang could fully process the situation, she saw a blurred vision of one of the abnormal Grimm running towards her.
Before she could react, a strong punch knocked it to the side. After the abnormal Grimm was attacked, Yang recovered and quickly blasted the Abnormal Grimm. After the blast barrage stopped, she looked around to see who helped her. When Yang's vision stopped being blurry, she aw that it was Bullet who helped her.
"Thanks for the help Bullet." Yang said in a grateful tone
"No problem, but don't let down your guard around these Abnormal Grimm. There a lot stronger than the regular Grimm that we're used to. Also, they have abilities that's similar to a semblance." Bullet briefly explained to Yang
"Noted, do you have any suggestions against these creatures?" Yang asked while getting into a fighting stance after noticing the Abnormal Grimm surrounding them
"They take a lot of punishment, so deal with them quickly before they get the chance to recover. I don't know what to tell you other than that Yang." Bullet said while getting back to back with Yang
"It's simple but it's better than nothing. How much aura do you have?" Yang asked Bullet
"I'm good, but one good hit is all it'll take to knock me down for the count." Bullet answered
"I'm not doing too hot either, for now we fight our way through until something comes up. I'll try to call for help, hopefully we can think of something soon." Yang said before she tried to call Makoto. When the call got through, Yang was about to speak until she ended up dodging the Grimm causing her to drop her Scroll. Before the Abnormal Beowolf acted again, Yang proceeded to deliver a strong punch. The punch was able to send the Abnormal Grimm back a good distance, which is due to Yang's semblance strengthening her. After the Abnormal Grimm was sent back, Yang was able to pick up her scroll but saw that it was cracked.
"I don't know if the call went through Bullet. We just have to endure, watch my back and I'll watch yours." Yang said before she blasted the Abnormal Grimm that was nearby
"What about that giant Snake that's crawling around? It looks like it's making the regular Grimm stronger." Bullet said before she sent an energy blast of her own
"One thing at a time, there will be no point in us planning to fight that giant snake if we can't survive this. Besides we're running low on aura and neither of us can afford to push our luck. Use your arm shield to watch my back and I'll blast whichever Grimm comes for us. The moment we see an opening, we go and meet up with either our teammates or Professors." Yang said voicing her idea of a plan before the girls proceeded to fight the nearby Abnormal Grimm
(The Beacon Hallway)
Makoto was quick to answer a call on her Scroll from Yang. But what made her concerned is that the call suddenly ended almost a soon as it was made. Makoto knows that Yang isn't the type of person to hang up after suddenly making a call. She also knows that the both of them are back on good terms. This recent event made Makoto realized that something was up and after getting an emergency news feed of a breach of Grimm with a bizarre appearance. She was able to put the pieces together. After doing so Makoto quickly got ready along with Noel. Though Makoto did question internally why Ragna and Jin already have their clothes on and are armed with their weapons. Given the circumstances, she decided it was best not to question it.
"Are you sure that Yang and her team might be in trouble Makoto?" Noel asked in a concerned tone while team RJNN were on their way to the ships
"It sounded like a struggle from Yang's end of the call. I'm probably overthinking this, but we have to make sure. Besides almost after Yang called me, I saw the report of the Grimm breaching the Central City. That's a good place to start if my hunch is right." Makoto briefly explained to Noel
"Your hunch is probably right Makoto." Ragna said in a hidden tone of caution
"By the way, where were you and Jin? It's a little questioning that you two are ready and armed. Also I'm surprised that Jin is coming along without complaints." Makoto said voicing her thoughts on the situation
"Something happened, it's a bit complicated." Ragna briefly answered while Jin silently observed. As the team were walking, they noticed Professor Goodwitch approaching them.
"Where do you all think your going?" Professor Goodwitch said in a tone with authority
"I've received a call from Yang and it sounded like she was in trouble and I have a good idea about with who. I saw the emergency broadcast and I have a hunch that Yang and the rest of her team are there." Makoto explained to the Professor
"I saw that emergency broadcast as well Makoto. I understand that you mean well, but in good consciousness I can't let you go and face that strange creature." Professor Goodwitch said
"You know what's going on Professor?" Noel asked
"I do have a good grasp of the details. I've received reports of the Abnormal Grimm that's been appearing in the Kingdom and it appears that their the ones who breached Central City. From what I know, they are stronger than the normal Grimm and have gained abilities. Which makes them much more dangerous, both team BLST and team JNPR barely survived such an encounter. Though I don't know why team RWBY are in Central City. It goes without saying that the situation is very dangerous. I'm going to Central City, along with some of the Professors to deal with the situation." Professor Goodwitch told team RJNN while getting various concerned looks
"Let us come along Professor, we've gotten stronger and our friends are there. We can't just sit around and do nothing." Makoto said in a pleading tone to the Professor causing her to think for a second
"This is going to be very dangerous, which will no doubt be very different from what your all used to. Are you all prepared for this?" Professor Goodwitch asked while being given a focused look that's followed by a nod
"Then consider this your field mission team RJNN. We're going to Central City to deal with the Abnormal Grimm. We'll formulate a plan on our way there, hopefully we can come up with a way to deal with that giant abnormal snake." Professor Goodwitch said before team RJNN went on ahead with her following
(Central City)
Baiken was able to quickly recover from the train crash and proceeded to quickly fight against the Abnormal Grimm. She found that they're stronger to kill than regular Grimm but was not discouraged. For a few seconds, Baiken found herself dodging the Abnormal boarbatusk. While counter attacking with her sword. Baiken doesn't know the abilities of the Abnormal boarbatusk. Her instincts as a Huntress is telling her to kill them before they get the chance to use it. The only thing that Baiken noticed about them so far is that they are a lot faster than usual.
After dodging another roll attack, Baiken quickly leaped to the Abnormal boarbatusk and killed it with a single slash. After killing the Abnormal Grimm, Baiken looked ahead for a quick second. After she looked, An Abnormal Beowolf appeared and made a move to attack her with its claws. Baiken quickly did a back flip and was able to avoid getting hurt by the Abnormal Grimm. As she was doing her backflip, Baiken used her rifle arm to blast the Abnormal Beowolf head off with an explosive shot.
"Invisibility, its been a while since I dealt with that. Also it looks like these Abnormal Grimm are smarter than the regular Grimm." Baiken said before she used her semblance to look around the area.
After she looked around, she saw the silhouettes of some of the Abnormal Grimm and quickly slashed at each of them with her katana. When the invisible Abnormal Grimm noticed this, they stopped being invisible and tried to attack Baiken. The veteran Huntress noticed this and made a small smirk. A brief second before she proceeded to dodge the attacks and quickly dealt with them. When the nearby Abnormal Grimm were dealt with, she decided to take a breath so she can recover some of her energy and aura. After she did so, she looked at the Malachite Serpent and decided to check her ammo supplies.
"I lost a lot of my spare ammo packs because of that train crash. Right now, I have 4 shots left on my rifle arm. I have to conserve as much as I can. There must be a way to del with that giant snake though. As long as it's around, the Abnormal Grimm will keep on coming." Baiken thought to herself before she proceeded to go around the area looking for survivors.
(Ruby's Location)
Ruby spent a lot of time fighting a variety of the Abnormal Grimm along with Dr. Oobleck and Zwei. So far they have been holding their own, but the fight against the Abnormal Grimm is taking longer than anticipated. To make matters worse, The Abnormal Grimm are stronger than the regular Grimm and are much harder to deal with. Not to mention that the numbers aren't slowing down anytime soon. After dealing with another Abnormal Grimm with Dr. Oobleck. Ruby took a look at the Malachite Serpent while catching her breath.
"There has to be a way to fight that thing. If I could get high enough, I could deal with it in one go." Ruby said before she quickly dodged an attack and sliced the Abnormal Grimm's head off.
"I could try to create an opening for you. But given the strength of these Abnormal Grimm and their numbers. I doubt such a move would be effective and would last long." Dr. Oobleck said before he smashed an Abnormal Boarbatusk into the small group of Abnormal Grimm.
When the both of them looked around, they saw that they were quickly getting surrounded. Before Ruby or Dr. Oobleck could do anything, a figure had dived into the small hoard that surrounded them and a strong burst of electricity followed which destroyed them. When Ruby, Dr. Oobleck, and Zwei looked at what helped them. They saw a grey metallic with red eyes and after seeing it, Ruby quickly realized who it was.
"Thank you for the help Minerva." Ruby said in a happy tone to the metallic figure
"I'm glad that she could help you." Celica said after stepping out from behind Minerva
"Ma'am this is a very dangerous area, I must strongly advise that you get to safety." Dr. Oobleck told Celica in a concerned tone
"I've been in situations like these before. Saya is in a safe place, me and Minerva can help you two. Allow me to heal your body and aura, since you two look to be in rough condition." Celica said as she was making a move to use her power before Dr. Oobleck stopped her.
"In that case, please heal Ms. Rose. I suspect that she needs it more than I do. That attack from earlier had destroyed some of the Grimm but there are a lot more. I'm going to go and do what I can to help the civilians and deal with the Abnormal Grimm. Be careful you two." Dr. Oobleck said before he sped off and left with Zwei following him. After Dr. Oobleck left, Celica used her healing abilities and healed Ruby while recovering a good portion of her aura
"Thank you, now get to safety Celica." Ruby said before she looked around ready to fight more of the Abnormal Grimm
"I'll go and heal the people who are injured or is low on aura. Minerva is capable of helping you fight these Grimm. Besides, from where I'm standing you need all the help you can get." Celica told Ruby
"I appreciate your good intentions, but I don't want you to be put in danger. Besides if I let you help me and something happens to you. I don't think neither Ragna or Jin will ever forgive me and I won't blame them." Ruby told Celica in a pleading tone
"Then at the very least let Minerva help you. She has a few abilities that will be very helpful to you." Celica told Ruby insisting on wanting to help
"Do you think she can help me get to the top of the building while getting you to safety?" Ruby asked Celica while looking around for more Abnormal Grimm
"She can do a lot more than that." Celica said before Minerva transformed into a figure that has the appearance of a small jet in front of Ruby. When Ruby saw this, she was flabbergasted at what she saw and if not for the current predicament. She would have gushed over the newly revealed transformation of Minerva. Though Ruby's Weapons Geek self couldn't help itself.
"Oh my gosh that is so cool. It looks like it can fly which is so awesome and . . . ." Ruby said before she quickly shook her head after realizing what she was doing
"Sorry, I'll go weapons geek later. What do you plan on having Minerva do?" Ruby asked after briefly getting her thoughts together
"Minerva will fly the both of us up to a high point. From there you should be able to attack that Giant Snake with the force of the gravity to help you. Will you be able to do it?" Celia asked Ruby
"Yes, that should be enough for me to kill it in one go. What will you do Ms. Celica?" Ruby asked in a concerned tone
"While Minerva is in her jet form, I'll be able to quickly get to the people who needs help. Either by evacuation or with me healing them. Minerva can't maintain this form for too long, so we need to hurry." Celica said before her and Ruby grabbed on to Minerva's arms
After Celica and Ruby grabbed on to Minerva's arms, she suddenly took flight at a strong burst of speed. As Minerva was flying into the air, Ruby was amazed at Minerva's newly revealed capabilities. While she was focused on dealing with the Giant Snake, a part of her wanted to enjoy the fact that she's flying through the air. But she figured that she can just ask to fly on Minerva after everything calmed down. As they were flying, they found themselves at a high point above the Malachite Serpent and when Ruby looked at it. She was able to find a spot that has exposed skin.
When Ruby found it, she let go of Minerva and proceeded to dive towards the Malachite Serpent. As Ruby was diving, she started to roll forward with her scythe. As she was rolling forward, she used Crescent Rose to increase the speed of her movements. After she was getting closer, Ruby rolled so quickly with Crescent Rose. It appeared that she became a high speed rolling motor blade, thanks to her semblance, weapon, and skills. When Ruby got close to the Malachite Serpent, a strong burst of light came from the serpent and it was strong enough to push Ruby back. When the light dissipated, Ruby found herself knock to a nearby wall and even though her aura didn't break. She felt that it was getting close to doing so. Before Ruby could fully recover, she noticed the Malachite Serpent was crawling towards her. Before the serpent got close, a pink sash was wrapped around Ruby's waist and tugged on her before the snake could get to her. After Ruby was tugged, she saw that it was Amane that saved her.
"Thanks Amane, that snake would've ended me if you hasn't saved me." Ruby told Amane in a grateful tone.
"I saw what you tried to do Ruby, the idea was good. But that snake was stronger." Amane said as the both of them were looking at the Malachite Serpent
After the Malachite Serpent tried to attack Ruby, it started to move around Central City ignoring Ruby and Amane. As it was moving around, parts of its body started to be covered in more bone like material as if its armor was growing. When a few seconds have passed, the Malachite Serpent roared once again and the Abnormal Grimm had gotten a bit stronger.
"Why isn't it coming towards us, I'm not complaining but it's a bit odd?" Ruby asked before she proceeded to attack the Abnormal Grimm that was leaping towards them.
"I saw its head a little earlier, it might be a hunch but I think that giant snake is blind. If that the case, it might explain how I didn't immediately come after us." Amane told Ruby as he used his aura sash to create a large fist and knock back an Abnormal Beowolf
"If that's the case then we need to use its blindness against it. If we can do that, we'll be able to find a weak spot and deal with it in one blow." Ruby said to Amane voicing her idea
"But we need to be smart about it Ruby. That train crash took out a large chunk of our aura. Also from what I can see, it responds to sound and can sense aura. So we need to get its attention and have a powerhouse to deal that strong blow." Amane told Ruby while looking around. As he was looking around, he noticed a pathway to both Yang and Bullet. After Amane saw both Yang and Bullet, he motioned Ruby to both of their teammates and they quickly made it to them. Thanks to the use of Ruby's semblance making the trip much easier and faster.
"Ruby, your OK." Yang said in a happy tone before she hugged her sister.
"Its good to see you too sis. But I can't breathe . . . . . ." Ruby said struggling to breathe before Yang let go of her with an embarrassed look on her face
"Glad to see you two are still alive. So either of you have any ideas to deal with that giant snake?" Bullet asked Ruby and Amane
"Amane figured out that the snake is blind and can sense aura. If we can find a weak spot and deal with it in one blow. We can kill it and the Grimm won't get any stronger." Ruby told Yang and Bullet
"I see what you need us to do then. Bullet hit me with your strongest punch." Yang told Bullet while being given a confused look from everyone
"Why?" Bullet bluntly asked
"My semblance lets me get stronger the more hits I take. Your semblance lets you get stronger the more hits you give. If you give me a good hit, the both of us will get stronger and we'll get enough strength to deal with that giant snake." Yang told Bullet after quickly thinking of a plan
"My punches aren't exactly weak. Are you sure you'll be able to handle it Yang?" Bullet asked in a concerned tone
"Given the circumstances we don't have a choice." Yang said while mentally preparing herself for the punch.
"Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you." Bullet said before she punched Yang hard in the stomach. After taking the punch, Yang was pushed back a bit, but after a few seconds her aura felt a lot stronger due to her semblance. Bullet was feeling a lot stronger as well and the girls looked at each other and nodded in agreement.
"Alright Amane, now we have to bring that giant snake here. Have you ever heard of a pinwheel?" Ruby asked Amane with a hidden smirk
"I think I figured out your plan Ruby." Amane said before he threw his aura sash to Ruby before she grabbed it.
After Ruby grabbed the aura sash, she proceeded to use her semblance to quickly run to the Malachite Serpent while holding the sash. When Ruby got close to it, she used Crescent Rose to boost herself into the air and spun quickly to the serpent at an exposed skin. Like earlier, a strong burst of light came from the Malachite Serpent but this time Ruby was ready for it. Ruby was pushed back, but this time Amane pulled on the aura sash and him along with Ruby succeeded in luring the snake to them. When Ruby got to the ground, she used her semblance to get back to Yang, Bullet, and Amane much faster. When the serpent got closer, Yang and Bullet delivered a strong punch to the Serpent's jaw knocking it to the side.
"We did it, it's knocked out." Ruby said with enthusiasm in her voice
"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Amane said in a cautious tone while looking at the Malachite Serpent. A quick second later, the Malachite Serpent recovered and made a very loud roar. The roar was so loud and sudden that it briefly startled Ruby. But she didn't let it show on her face.
"Yang, Bullet, do you guys think you can knock it out again?" Ruby asked while looking at the Serpent
"We'll try but I doubt it'll work a second time." Yang answered Ruby while looking at the Serpent
"Besides, punching that thing the way we did took a lot out of us and the best we could do is stagger it." Bullet said while looking at the Malachite Serpent as well
After the Malachite Serpent recovered from both Bullet's and Yang's punch. It started to move towards the students at an increased speed. Rub was trying to think of a way to counterattack or avoid the large serpent. Unfortunately, Ruby couldn't think of anything and is seeing how powerful the Serpent truly is. When the giant snake got close, Ruby braced herself for when the serpent attacked.
"HYAAA!" Ragna yelled getting everyone's attention. After hearing Ragna yell, the small group of four looked up and saw Ragna leaping towards the Malachite Serpent. Before the giant serpent could do anything, Ragna was able to land his attack and cut a deep gash in the Malachite Serpent. The serpent roared in pain at the injury and ended up moving back a bit.
"Thanks Ragna, if you hadn't come along we would've been in trouble." Yang said in a grateful tone to Ragna
"No problem, I live for taking on strong creatures like these. Besides its not just me, my team and other students came." Ragna said causing Ruby to look around and see more students coming. After looking around Ruby decided to take another look at the large serpent and saw that the deep cut that Ragna made to the Malachite Serpent, is healing up which surprised her.
"It's healing, its as if it has aura. But Grimm can't use aura, so this is just strange." Ruby said after seeing it
"I don't know what to think of this either sis. But the only thing that matters right now is that it'll take more than that to bring it down." Yang said while looking at the Malachite Serpent
"Since you guys went through a lot, take a breather and leave this oversized green lizard to me. Besides, I'm always up for a challenge." Ragna said in a confident tone before he charged to the Malachite Serpent
(Jaune's Location)
One of the other students that arrived in Central City was Jaune and his team. Afterarriving, team JNPR split up leaving Jaune by himself while armed with his shield and sword. Looking at the Abnormal Grimm reminded him of his first encounter with them back in the Verivert Swamp and the second time in Emerald Forest. Some of the weaker Grimm leapt at Jaune with a ravenous look in its eyes. Fortunately, thanks to the training that Pyrrha helped him with. Jaune was able to quickly cut them down, showing the fruits of his training. After the Grimm was dealt with, Jaune used his shield to block an attack from an Abnormal Beowolf Grimm. Before the Abnormal Beowolf Grimm could do anything, Jaune quickly and blindly slashed at the Abnormal Beowolf Grimm at a furious speed. After Jaune was finished, he opened his eyes and saw the Grimm standing still. After a brief second, the Abnormal Beowolf Grimm fell backwards and dissipated. After the Grimm dissipated, Jaune was filled with a strong sense of confidence and pride.
"Oh yeah, don't mess with an Arc. Anyone else want to take me on." Jaune said in a confident tone. After Jaune made the statement, three Abnormal Beowolf Grimm snarled at Jaune getting his attention. When Jaune looked at the three of them, he started to chuckle nervously while looking at them.
"Um OK, I've done this before. I just have to stay calm, remember everything Pyrrha taught me and don't get careless." Jaune said to himself while looking at the trio of Abnormal Beowolf Grimm. Before Jaune made a move to attack, the three Abnormal Grimm were suddenly frozen, much to Jaune's confusion. A second after they were frozen, they shattered into little pieces. When Jaune looked around, he saw that it was Jin who helped him.
"Don't let down your guard and stay calm." Jin told Jaune before he ran off to fight more of the Abnormal Grimm
"Thanks buddy!" Jaune yelled out to Jin before running off to fight more of the Abnormal Grimm
"Thanks for helping him Jin." Pyrrha said to Jin when he ran past her.
"No need for thanks." Jin quickly said before he fought more of the Abnormal Grimm
(Bang's Location)
Bang spent a good deal of time fighting the Abnormal Grimm. Unfortunately for him, his aura is depleted and he had no choice but to stay on the defensive. Bang made a mental note to intensify the training with Baiken if they survive this. After Bang defended another attack from the Abnormal Beowolf Grimm. One of them were able to smash Bang to the side knocking him down. After Bang was knocked down, one of the Abnormal Beowolf Grimm leaped towards him with the intent to finish him off. Before the Abnormal Grimm got close. A female figure showed up and delivered a strong punch to its jaw. The punch was strong enough to launch it far. For the other Abnormal Grimm, another figure appeared and swung his large sword cutting some of the Abnormal Grimm in two. When Bang looked to see who saved him. He saw that it was both Makoto and Kagura.
"Thank you Makoto and Kagura." Bang said in a grateful tone
"No problem Bang, I saw that big hole where the train came from. So I can make a good guess about what you went through." Makoto said as her and Kagura were helping Bang up
"Your in no shape to keep fighting, so heal up and let us handle this. When you've recovered at least a fourth of your aura help us out." Kagura said to Bang while walking towards the Abnormal Grimm with Makoto
"Mai and Tsubaki tells me that you're a good fighter and leader. Despite how flirtatious you are Kagura." Makoto told Kagura.
"Looks like this is a chance for you to see what I can do." Kagura said in a confident tone to Makoto before fighting the Abnormal Grimm alongside her while Bang recovered
(Weiss's Location)
The train crash had more of an impact on Weiss than she initially anticipated. A few moments after she was separated from everyone. She used what was left of her aura and strength to keep the Abnormal Grimm at bay. Either by slashing at them quickly, or by using her glyphs with the little aura she has left. After dealing with a few Grimm, Weiss tried to run away so she can find any of her teammates. Before she could get too far, she came across a small hoard of Abnormal Grimm that were ready to kill her. Before either of them could do anything, a powerful soundwave had suddenly burst in the Abnormal Grimm's direction. The soundwave was strong enough to stagger the Abnormal Grimm, after they were staggered, a swarm of machine gun shots were unloaded onto them and after a few seconds, the small hoard of Abnormal Grimm dissipated. When Weiss looked to see who helped her, she saw that it was the woman in the red leather clothes from a few weeks ago, I-No.
"You really are a fragile princess aren't you? Tempting as it is to see you get torn apart, I still have a job to do." I-No said in a mocking tone to Weiss before an Abnormal Usa Grimm tried to attack her, I-No was able to block the attack with ease and looked at the Abnormal Ursa Grimm with an angry look on her face
"YOU ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT %#$T WOULD WORK. YOU #%&KING BRAIN DEAD BEAST! LOOKS LIKE I'M GOING TO HAVE TO RIP YOU ALL TO %#^KING SHREDS!" I-No said before she took her guitar weapon named Marlene and smashed it over the heads of the Abnormal Ursa succeeding in decapitating it. After it was decapitated, I-No proceeded to quickly and brutally deal with the nearby Abnormal Grimm with ease. After she dealt with another one. I-No saw the small group of Abnormal Grimm in front of her and drew a smirk on her face. After she saw them, she proceeded to play her guitar and doing so released a powerful soundwave that dissipated the nearby Grimm. After the nearby Abnormal Grimm were dissipated, I-No had a satisfied look on her face before she continued.
(Ragna's Location)
Ragna spent a few minutes fighting the Malachite Serpent alone, while Yang, Ruby, Amane, and Bullet dealt with the nearby Abnormal Grimm. Though there's a part of Ragna that hated to admit it. In the past, Ragna has fought a large variety of Grimm. Even though the Malachite Serpent is similar to a King Taijitu in terms of being a serpent. That is the only thing that makes them similar. Making things more complicated, is that the giant serpent is making the other Grimm stronger and its capable of using aura. To further add to the mystery, something about the Malachite Serpent feels familiar to Ragna. A sense of familiarity that is similar to Nu.
After blocking another head bash from the Malachite Serpent. Ragna used a good deal of his strength to jump on top of the giant serpent and rapidly cut its body. Though Ragna was able to make some deep cuts. The injuries didn't last long because the snake was able to recover very quickly. After delivering another series of attacks, Ragna jumped off and took another look at the Malachite Serpent.
"Looks like I'm going to have to hit it with something its not going to recover from. RESTRICTION RELEASE!" Ragna yelled releasing his seal. After Ragna released his seal, the Malachite Serpent along with the Abnormal Grimm started to roar much loudly. Though it wasn't a roar of pain. It was a roar of resolve and when Ruby looked at them she realized why. The Abnormal Grimm started to grow more bone-like armor on their bodies and they emitted an energy that felt like aura. After seeing this, Yang realized something and decided to yell out to Ragna.
"Ragna, I don't know how but your aura is making them stronger! You have to reactivate your seal!" Yang yelled before she found herself fighting off one of the Grimm. When Ragna heard Yang call out to him, he looked around and saw that the Abnormal Grimm were getting stronger because he released his seal. Just like what Yang said a second ago.
"Dang it." Ragna said before he reactivated the seal on his arm. After Ragna did that, the Abnormal Grimm stopped getting stronger and continued with the destruction they were causing earlier. Before Ragna could think about what happened. He noticed the Malachite Serpent charging towards him. After he saw the serpent, Ragna braced himself for another attack. Only for the Malachite Serpent to quickly move past him and head straight for Ruby, and the rest of the people she was with.
"What am I chopped liver, you were fighting me earlier." Ragna said before he ran towards the Malachite Serpent.
After Ruby was barely able to deal with another Abnormal Grimm. She felt a great deal of fatigue at the chain of events that happened recently. Though a good portion of it was unexpected, it still doesn't change the fact that a lot of destruction quickly occurred. Being able to protect the people from danger like this, reminds Ruby on the importance of being a Huntress. When Ruby dealt with another Abnormal Grimm, she was able to catch her breath for a moment. Unfortunately, that moment was brief because she noticed the Malachite Serpent quickly charging towards her and the group.
Ruby was able to quickly reload her gun and fired at the Malachite Serpent along with Yang and Bullet. The shots proved to be ineffective since they bounced off the serpent. When the Malachite Serpent got close, Ruby mentally prepared herself for Serpent's attack. While trying to think of potential counterattack options. Before the Malachite Serpent got too close, a barrage of powerful bullets were fired upon the Malachite Serpent and it was staggered. When Ruby looked to see where the shots were coming from, she saw that they came from one of Atlus's Gun Ships. She also saw a large number of Atlus mech soldiers coming into Central City to help the citizens, Students, and fight off the Abnormal Grimm. Ruby would have been happy with the fact that a lot more help is coming.
But the events that happened next prevented her from doing so. What happened next is that the Malachite Serpent started to roar and radiate a stronger surge of energy, while parts of the bone like armor started to have cracks which made Ruby nervous. A brief second have passed, and the bones that have cracks in them started to fall off and what replaced them were sharp red and green eyes. The sharp eyes appeared all over its body which made for a disturbing sight for Ruby and everyone else that saw it. After the transformation, a lot of people looked at the Malachite Serpent but ended up regretting it. Because everyone who looked ended up frozen stiff, unable to move or do anything.
"I . . . I can't move, what is this power? What is that Serpent." Professor Goodwitch muttered while trying to fight the paralysis.
"This . . . is quite the dire situation." Dr. Oobleck commented while trying to fight the paralysis as well
"This . . . isn't good, I have to . . . break free." Blake said trying to break out of the paralysis but to no success
After sensing a lot of people were paralyzed. The Malachite Serpent's many eyes started to glow for a brief second. After that, a large barrage of energy blasts came from the eyes and was able to hit a lot of locations. The energy blast barrage was able to hit both the building and a lot of people, including the civilians, and the people fighting the Abnormal Grimm and the Malachite Serpent. The only ones that it didn't hit was Ragna and the other Grimm that was nearby. After the energy barrage ended, the Malachite Serpent caused a strong burst of light. As if to finish off the ones it may have missed. After the light dissipated, almost everyone was greatly injured and down for the count. The only one that was still standing is Ragna.
"You oversize snake, don't think you can ignore me and do this to the people. Your as good as dead, I'll see to it personally." Ragna said while getting ready to fight. Before Ragna could do anything, he felt a faint glow that felt both welcoming and threatening. When Ragna looked to see where the glow came from. He saw that it was Jin, who was flashing a light of pure white. While walking towards the Malachite Serpent. A part of Ragna wanted to see what was going on with Jin. But every fiber in his body is warning him not to. Both out of fear, and because he knew that he was going to see something incredible and that Jin has control of the situation.
"You Grimm, threaten everything in this world. You wretched creatures threaten this world's order and the lives that work to uphold it. As long as you monsters exists, and the ones who both cause and benefit from your destruction still lingers in this world. Then I will do what I must and fight against all of you. Grimm, Human, or Faunus, it doesn't matter who or what it is. Whatever threatens this world, either the lives, or the order of the world. THEN I WILL FIGHT TO STOP ALL OF YOU!" Jin said causing a strong bust of pure white light to come from his body.
When the light came from Jin, all of the Abnormal Grimm and the Malachite Serpent looked at Jin with a strong desire to kill. As if the power that Jin radiated made him top priority. When one of the Abnormal Grimm leaped towards Jin. The blonde swordsman didn't look nervous or afraid. When it got close, Jin destroyed the Abnormal Grimm in one blinding slash. After Jin killed one of the Abnormal Grimm with ease, a large number of them charged towards him. But the results were the same as before and the Abnormal Grimm never stood a chance. After quickly killing the large number of Abnormal Grimm, Jin gave the Malachite Serpent a strong glare. Though it was hard to tell, it appeared that the Malachite Serpent felt fear. After giving the Malachite Serpent a strong glare, Jin held up his sword and the light coming from him grew stronger.
"I will protect the balance of order and the lives of this world. All those who threaten either will become my enemy and I will show no mercy. I am the cold steel, I am the just sword. YUKIANESA!" Jin yelled before he stabbed his sword into the ground causing a strong burst of pure white light from his body. Both the Malachite Serpent and the Abnormal Grimm were in immense pain. But as for the people, they were getting healed. Nobody could explain why or how, but they weren't going to complain or question it. Jaune was another student to notice Jin, and when he looked at him. Jaune was reminded of a certain individual he came across back in the Verivert Swamp along with Cardin.
"It's like I'm seeing . . . . Hakumen." Jaune mentally commented to himself
"ARCTIC DUNGEON!" Jin yelled causing all of the Abnormal Grimm and the Malachite Serpent to quickly be frozen solid. A quick second have passed and every last one of the Grimm and the Malachite Serpent were frozen with no chance to survive.
"SHATTER!" Jin yelled causing all of the Grimm and the Malachite Serpent to break apart into thousands of pieces. After all of them shattered, Jin stopped glowing pure white and looked around to see some of the people were able to move.
"Looks like all of you will be fine." Jin said before he collapsed. Before Jin hit the ground, Ranga was able to catch him.
"You did good Jin, you did real good." Ragna said while holding Jin
"JIN!" Weiss yelled as she was running towards the brothers. When she got a closer look at Jin. She had a worried look on her face and started to grow concerned. When Ragna noticed Weiss's concerned look. He decided to speak, to put the Heiress's fears at ease.
"He's alive Weiss, unconscious but very much alive. He just needs to rest so he can recover his aura and heal up." Ragna told Weiss
"Thank you Ragna." Weiss said in a grateful tone
"Let's get him to the Medical Wing. I can tell he needs to go there badly." Yang said before Ragna carried Jin over his shoulder
"Is this the power that Jin has that I was warned about?" Ragna thought to himself while he was carrying Jin
(A Distant Building)
Hazama is many things and observant was one of them. He knew that the breach was going to happen and watched the events unfold at a distance using his binoculars. While making sure that he wasn't seen by anyone. While the events unfolded, he had a smirk with the mindset that everything was going as expected. Though one moment made Hazama stop his train of thought and made him slightly cautious. What made Hazama cautious is when Jin displayed that power that allowed him to very easily deal with the Abnormal Grimm and the Malachite Serpent. After everything was settled, Hazama put down his binoculars and crushed them in his hands with no effort at this recent development.
"Looks like the sly cat tried to pull a fast one. I didn't think the Power of Order would awaken like this. Or better yet be a possible factor in your plans Jubei. This is going to suck, but it looks like I'm going to have to bring in Relius. Since the Eye of Blue shouldn't be too far off now. Oh well, at least everything went according to plan. I can't wait to see the look on Cinder's face when she catches wind of all this." Hazama said with a hidden smirk while leaving before anyone noticed

I know that I-No is a very vulgar character in the Guilty Gear series. So I decided to censor out the heavy swears that she'll say in this story.
Also around the last part of this chapter, Jin used the Power of Order to deal with the Malachite Serpent and all of the Abnormal Grimm. The best description I can give without spoiling things, is that it is a combination of the Silver Eyes power in the RWBY series with some elements from the Power of Order from the Blazblue series. There is a lot more to it, but I can't give away the details.
