(A/N) Even though this is a side chapter, this is the official start to Volume 3 of this story. Thank you everyone for standing by this story and for reading it.
Also, I know that there are some questions about how Izanami was able to find out who Ozpin's next reincarnation is going to be. What I can confirm is that there is a VERY GOOD reason about how she knew. But I can't answer that question without giving away some massive spoilers. The only thing I can say is that she can't predict the future but finding out is within her abilities.
Chapter 39 (S) Things to come

A lone female individual is standing in front of a window with a thoughtful look on her face. Her hair is gray, and her skin is ghostly pale. Though upon closer inspection, her face has red eyes and there are red veins on her body. One look at the woman and it is easy to tell that she is a being of immense power and knowledge. The depth of this is unknown, but one thing is certain. It is obvious that she is the master of the Grimm. This woman's name is Salem, and she has been in deep thought about everything she has learned from Cinder recently. Though she is fully aware that not much can be done with the new development. She does know that she must plan for them, since they are likely to play a crucial role in the future. A few more minutes after Salem was in deep thought, the room doors opened up. After the doors opened up, three individuals entered the large room and proceeded to a seat.
A slender male with a ponytail went to a chair but crouched on it instead of sitting in it. His name is Tyrion and in his eyes lies a sadistic bloodlust. A large man wearing a green trench coat and a black shirt is sitting down. The second male's name is Hazel, and he is a stoic male. The third male that entered is named Dr. Arthur Watts, when he sat down there is a good deal of composure behind him. Behind his eyes lies a high aptitude of scientific knowledge.
"Watts, Tyrion, Hazel, I have called each of you here to give you all an update on young Cinder's progress towards her mission." Salem told the three men as she was turning around
"Ah yes, our soon to be Fall Maiden. Truth be told I'm amazed she's still at it. Given her mouth and attitude I thought she would have been able to pull it off by now." Dr. Watts said voicing his thoughts on Cinder's mission
"We were told that the initial process was interrupted. But Cinder and her teammates were able to keep their identities hidden and avoided unwanted attention." Hazel told Dr. Watts
"If it were me, I would have killed the Huntsman and took the rest. But that's just what I would do my lady. hehehehehe hahahahaha." Tyrion said before he started to chuckle
"Though the process was unfortunately interrupted by the Huntsman. It still presented an opportunity that young Cinder is fully making use of. She has successfully infiltrated Beacon and with Terumi's help. She was able to sneak in a surprise that will be useful for when the fated moment arrives." Salem told everyone before she turned her attention to Hazel
"Which reminds me, tell me again how you failed to deal with Iron Tager. Who is, as I recalled Kokonoe's trusted subordinate." Salem told Hazel
"Me and Relius were close to dealing with him. Unfortunately, Kokonoe had brought another individual who's from the Murakumo labs. There combined strengths forced us to retreat. Unless we were to run the risk of bringing in the Grimm or another unwanted assistance. Though the message was made clear to the scientist." Hazel told Salem
"It looks like Kokonoe is more resourceful than I thought. To think that we would have to deal with another individual from those labs." Dr. Watts said voicing his thoughts
"Do you want me to deal with Iron Tager and the one from the Murakumo labs my lady?" Tyrion asked Salem with a sadistic enthusiasm
"No need Tyrion, another opportunity to deal with that revenge driven scientist will come. Which reminds me, there have been a few interesting developments regarding Cinder and Terumi." Salem said before she continued speaking
"While Cinder was undercover, a student has caught wind of her activities." Salem said getting everyone's attention
"How could it happen, no doubt Cinder was careless and got discovered." Dr. Watts said voicing his surprise at the news
"From what Cinder told me, she's not sure either. However, a threat against his family was able to stay his hand. The student's name is Ragna, the one who has the other half of the Grimm Aura. Though Cinder tells me of a rumor that he's trying to be known as Ragna the Bloodedge." Salem told the three men
"Doesn't Nu contain the other half of the Grimm Aura?" Hazel asked
"Indeed she does, Cinder told me that Nu has had an obsessive attitude towards Ragna. To a point that Cinder or Terumi has to keep her on a short leash and keep a close eye on her." Salem told Hazel
"Your grace, if you would allow it. I would be happy to go and capture Ragna's family. Maybe even kill them to send him a message." Tyrion told Salem
"Though the idea is tempting, it wouldn't help us in the long-run. So for now, I will leave it up to Cinder's discretion." Salem said which caused Tyrion to pout
"How are things proceeding with the White Fang?" Hazel asked Salem
"The White Fang are still continuing to prove useful. Along with Adam Taurus and the Mad Dog Azrael. Cinder has consulted with me about allowing Azrael to join our numbers. So tell me, what do you guys think of that prospect?" Salem asked everyone
"During my time in Atlus, even I've heard of the infamy of Azrael. As long as we can keep him in line. Then I see how he could prove to be very helpful. Power like his is something we can't ignore if it can be of use to us." Dr. Watts said to Salem
"Yes, his bloodlust is cause for concern. But as Dr. Watts said, as long as he doesn't go overboard. Then he should be a good addition to our group." Hazel said agreeing with Dr. Watts
"Personally I would love to meet the Mad Dog himself. I bet we could exchange a lot interesting stories. Hehehehehehe." Tyrion said in a gleeful tone
"I'm glad that you all feel that way, which makes me pleased to announce that Azrael is now part of our group. I made the decision months ago, but I figured that this will be a good time to inform you all. Besides, I suspect that Azrael will be quite useful for when we have to eventually deal with Hakumen. I hope there aren't any problems with my decision." Salem said in a tone that held subtle dominance with everyone nodding in acceptance
"Good, now onto the matter at hand. Young Cinder has done well while undercover at Beacon. Though aside from the situation regarding Ragna, there was another incident that occurred that I'm sure your all somewhat aware of." Salem told the men
"Central City suffered a Grimm attack and Roman was behind it. Wasn't he supposed to be working with Cinder in Vale?" Hazel asked
"My thoughts exactly, either Roman acted on his own, or something bizarre had happened." Dr. Watts said voicing his thoughts on the situation
"Terumi instructed Roman to cause the breach earlier than it was supposed to be done." Salem said
"It seems that snake has acted independently, doesn't he realize that he could have ruined everything?" Dr. Watts said after learning what Terumi did
"I questioned him on that myself and he explained himself to me properly. Though his sense of initiative was careless. He informed me that we're in a much better position to get what we need. Though the loss of the Malachite Serpent is regrettable, there are still two more that we still have. I did have to make it clear to Terumi, that the next time he decided to take the initiative like that. It is highly encouraged that he informs one of us. Otherwise, the moment things goes wrong, we would at least be prepared for it. Still things did turn out favorably for us." Salem informed everyone
"No doubt this'll lead to another bit of news which will make for an interesting topic. The individual who managed to stop the attack and destroy the Malachite Serpent. If I recall correctly, his name is Jin Kisaragi. Or as a lot of people are calling him, the Hero of Vale." Dr. Watts said before he pulled up a picture of Jin that's been shown on the news for the past few days
"It doesn't appear that Jin has the power of the silver eyes. So how is it that he was able to destroy the Abnormal Grimm and the Malachite Serpent?" Hazel asked voicing his thoughts
"Terumi has informed me that Jin has awakened to a power that allowed him to destroy the Grimm with ease. He said that it is called the Power of Order, and it makes him very powerful and dangerous to us. That power allows him to be a major threat to both Nu and Ragna. Due to the both of them having both halves of the Grimm Aura. It also makes him a problem for us, because Terumi has told me that the Power of Order is a power that surpasses the power of the silver eyes." Salem told everyone causing them to be surprised
"That all sounds problematic. The power of the silver eyes had some restrictions that we can at least make use of. But if the power of Order is stronger than that. We need to take immediate precautions against Jin." Dr. Watts said
"I agree, but fortunately Terumi informs me that he has no control over that power. So until Cinder fulfills her mission, we aren't in much of a position to do anything regarding him. Make no mistake everyone, I'm fully aware that we can't leave either Jin or Ragna alone with the fact that they each have a great power within. But if we carelessly interfere out of impulse. Then we could ruin things regarding our plans for Vale since so much is underway. Which is why I will leave the situation under Cinder's discretion." Salem told everyone
"Will they at least be taking proper precautions against them? If any of them are ill prepared, then everything will be ruined very easily." Hazel told Salem
"Terumi will be taking part in the plan to ensure that things goes smoothly. I was also informed that Relius will be taking part as well as an extra measure." Salem responded to Hazel
"Which reminds me, do you happen to know where Relius is? I haven't seen him since he got back with Hazel." Dr. Watts asked
"Relius told me that since we might expect more interference from Kokonoe in the future. He wanted to find more recruits that can be of help to us. He informed of a possible candidate, so he's out doing what he can to make the recruitment easy. I believe you'll be pleased with this one Dr. Watts, but it is someone who bears an interesting scientific mind." Salem told the Doctor
"Interesting, well it would be a nice to have another scientific mind in our group. Though I really do wish Relius would do a joint collaboration with me." Dr. Watts said
"Tyrion, soon Cinder shall become our new Fall Maiden. I want you to begin your search for Spring until I contact you again." Salem commanded Tyrion
"It will be done ma'am." Tyrion said in an obedient tone
"Hazel, I want you and Dr. Watts to go to Argus. Relius told me that the new recruit will be there if he's successful. That man has shown to be resourceful, so I'm confident that he'll succeed." Salem instructed Hazel and Dr. Watts
"Yes ma'am." Dr. Watts said before he left the room along with Tyrion and Hazel. After the three men left, Salem looked out the window going back to her previous deep thoughts. After a few seconds of deep thinking, Salem decided to speak
"Ragna, Jin, what else are you two capable of? Did you plan for the capabilities of those two Ozpin?" Salem thought out loud in a curious tone
(The Clinic in Argus)
One of the things about Litchi Faye-Ling that's known is her highly intelligent mind. Another thing that allows her to stand out is her unconditioned kindness to other people. After tending to a young injured boy a few months prior. Litchi watched over him to make sure his recovery went smoothly. One day though, the mysterious young boy disappeared along with his large purple mechanical doll. While leaving behind a note that thanked Litchi and Linhua for the treatment. While also leaving behind some lien. A part of Litchi wanted to drop everything and look for the young boy. Due in large part to her protective instinct. But she also knows that she knows practically nothing about the boy and if she searches for him. Then the search would turn up empty. For now, she's focusing on doing the good that she's capable of doing. Part of that good, found herself being in Argus while tending to her own personal affairs.
"Alright that should do it, I did what I could for your son Ms. Cotta-Arc. I know a sprained wrist could be scary. But all he has to do take it easy for a few days and he'll be fine." Litchi said to a blonde woman after treating her son. The blonde woman's name is Saphron.
"Thank you Doctor, when Adrian got hurt while playing I practically panicked. My wife Terra said that I was overreacting but I just wanted to make sure he's OK. Also, just call me Saphron, I'm not feeling old enough to be called a Miss. " Saphron said as she was coddling her son Adrian
"Its fine Saphron, it's always a delight to see a mother care for her son. Besides I'm not a doctor, I was just passing through and I heard that this clinic was shorthanded, so I decided to volunteer. A lot of people assume that I'm a bit older than I look for some reason." Litchi told Saphron in a humble tone
"Well I'm sure that you'll be a great doctor Litchi. When you get your Medical License, how about you get settled here in Argus? There's a lot of good you could do here, and I can tell that your really friendly with people." Saphron suggested to Litchi
"Thanks Saphron, there are some locations I have in mind. So I'll give it some thought for setting up a clinic here. I'll still be here for a few weeks, so I have plenty of time to think about setting up in Argus." Litchi told Saphron
"I understand." Saphron said to Litchi in an appreciative tone
"Before I forget, I have a couple of questions for you, if you don't mind me asking. Its nothing urgent but its something I'm a bit curious about." Litchi said which slightly surprised Saphron
"Sure, I'll be able to answer some questions." Saphron said in a slightly curious tone
"A few months ago I was tutoring a few students at Beacon Academy. One of the students I helped tutor is a young blonde male name Jaune Arc. I noticed that your last names are similar. So I was wondering if you might know him/" Litchi asked in a curious tone causing Saphron have a bright glint in her eyes
"Of course I know him, he's my adorable little brother. Please tell me Litchi, how is he doing?" Saphron said with a good deal of enthusiasm
"I wasn't at Beacon for that long. But from what I can recall he seems to be doing fine. He happens to be friends with some good people." Litchi told Saphron
"Thank you for telling me Litchi. The first chance I get, I'm going to tell Terra about this." Saphron said in a proud tone
"Before I forget, I have another question I would like to ask you. You see a few months ago, I looked after a child who appeared to be injured. When I found him, I dropped him off at a clinic I would frequently visit and gave him treatment with another medical intern. Then one day when I went to check on him he was gone." Litchi told Saphron
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry about that." Saphron told Litchi giving her sympathies
"The only thing I know about him is that he is wearing purple clothes and is accompanied by a large purple and white mechanical doll that has a will of its own. The young boy has blue eyes, blonde hair, and is wearing glasses. Have you seen anyone who fits that description?" Litchi asked Saphron in a concerned tone
"Well aside from the clothes, mechanical doll and glasses. It sounds like he looks like my brother Jaune. But I haven't seen anyone like that. My wife works at an Atlus owned facility as a technician. I have her ask around to see if anyone saw someone like that." Saphron said to Litchi
"Thank you Saphron, I know its not much to go on. But a part of me can't help to be worried about him." Litchi told Saphron in a slightly reassured tone
"Your worried about your patients, see you already have the makings to be a great doctor. I have to get going, hope to see you around Litchi." Saphron said before she left while carrying her son
"Hmm, being a doctor here would be nice. I get to treat a variety of people and I can do a lot of good here. Not to mention, it'll give me a chance to find a way to save . . . . Roy." Litchi said in a low and somber tone while deep in thought about a few things. After a few seconds have passed, Litchi decided to go over some paperwork so she'll be prepared for the patient. After a few minutes have passed, Litchi heard someone enter the room. When Litchi looked to see who it was, she saw that it was an adult male wearing clothes that bears the colors of purple and magenta. What made the man's appearance stand out further are two things. One of the stand out things is the mask that he's wearing. The other thing that makes him stand out the large metallic magenta figure that is near the man. When Litchi saw him, she immediately thought of the young boy she helped a few months ago and suspects that the man has a connection to him.
"Excuse me, would you happen to be Litchi Faye-Ling?" The masked man asked Litchi in a tone that bears no emotion
"Why yes I am, is there something that I can help you?" Litchi asked in a tone that is a mix of caution and curious
"My name is Relius Clover, and my associate has caught wind of your accomplishments and we are both very impressed." Relius told Litchi
"Um . . . . thank you sir, but my accomplishments are nothing to brag about. I just apply what I've from the medical schools and use what I've learned to help people. Once I graduate, I plan to get my medical license." Litchi told Relius in a humble tone
"I wasn't talking about your medical accomplishments. I was referring to your scientific accomplishments. More specifically, your work as Kokonoe's intern when you were working for Sector 7 full time." Relius said which had gotten more of Litchi's attention
"How did you know that I used to work for her full time?" Litchi asked while Mentally on guard
"As I said earlier, my associate has done research on you and from what we're both impressed. Being able to work under someone like Kokonoe is itself an accomplishment that is worthy of praise. But you managed to prove yourself further by giving a theory on the implementation of aura with the physiology of the Grimm. While also managing to outdo yourself by theorizing a way to strengthen aura that can surpass its natural capabilities that's akin to magic." Relius told Litchi causing the woman to have an upset look on her face
"I don't know how you managed to learn all of that. The research I've done for Professor Kokonoe is classified. So it should go without saying that my theories hasn't been made available to the public." Litchi told Relius in a cautious tone
"My associate has done a great deal of research on you Litchi. In fact we also know about an incident that caused you to go from full-time intern to Sector Seven to part time while attending medical school. I believe the incident involved a young lab assistant name Lotte Carmine." Relius told Litchi causing her to have a stunned look on her face
"Either tell me what you want or get out." Litchi told Relius while slowly losing her patience
"Then I'll get straight to the point. My associates are dealing with a few sensitive matters and we would like for you to assist us. I believe that with us, your scientific brilliance won't wither away and you'll be able to hone your skills further." Relius told Litchi
"Why would I join you when I don't even know what your end goals are?" Litchi asked Relius in a frustrated tone
"Because my associates have access to resources that will make your goals a reality. Think about it Litchi, Kokonoe knows of the incident as well as you do. Then why is it that she refuses to use her own natural magic to aid in saving him? Yet instead is readily prepared to kill him? As I recall I believe that his name is now Arakune?" Relius asked Litchi causing her to have a surprised look on her face
"The Professor is capable of using magic?" Litchi asked in a surprised tone
"Indeed and the young man your trying to save knows of this as well as I do. In fact, he was there when Kokonoe helped me with the awakening of my greatest creation." Relius told a surprised Litchi
"I . . . I don't know what to say. But regardless as such, how do I know that you'll even help me? The Professor has her problems, but I know that if I can just convince her. She'll be able to find a way to save Roy." Litchi said in a determined tone
"Then how would you feel if I told you that I know where he is right now? If you agree to join us, then I will personally capture him and let you do what you must to find a way to save him. All that is asked of you, is for you to aid us within reason." Relius told Litchi
"I . . . .I can't just . . ." Litchi said in a stunned tone before Relius spoke to her further
"My other associates will arrive here in Argus in a few days. Once they arrive, they will wait for contact from me. You have four days to make a decision, you can join us and have more possibilities presented to you to save the one you care about. Or you can hope for a miracle to solve your problem." Relius told Litchi before he proceeded to leave. Before he left too far, Litchi reached out to him and stopped him
"Wait!" Litchi yelled out to Relius stopping him
"If I do decide to join you and your associates, how will I be able to find any of you?" Litchi asked in a concerned tone
"They will be informed that you'll be working at this Clinic as a volunteer. One of them wears a black overcoat with a yellow and is a slender build. While the other one is a large man wearing an olive-green coat with a black shirt. That description should give you at least some idea of what to expect for when they meet you. As I said before, if you decide to join and help us. Arakune will be captured and you will be given assistance in saving your friend. The choice is yours at the end of the day." Relius said before he left the Medical Clinic with the crimson mechanical doll quickly following
"I don't know what he wants. But at the same time, if there's even a small chance that he's telling the truth don't I owe it to Roy to at least take the chance. Though now that I think about it a bit further. The Professor has always avoided me when it comes to Roy. Does she really intend to kill him? I don't know what to do, but I know that I have a lot to think about." Litchi thought out loud in a low tone before she went back to the paper work

"Where . . . . where am I?" A young girl voice asked out loud while she was looking around. As she was looking around, she noticed that she was in the middle of what's left of a destroyed building. When she looked further, she noticed a lot of burned papers and damaged glass tubes. The young girl quickly realized that she's in the remains of a lab that was destroyed.
"I'm still here, I didn't get to die like I wanted." The young girl said in a tone that is a mix of depressed and despondent
"I wanted the pain to end, I wanted my special one to come and make the pain end. Did he abandon me, were all those dreams a lie?" The young girl said while on the verge of tears. The young girl spent a few seconds channeling her energy and was able to radiate a good deal of power
"Maybe if I release it again, my pain can truly end." The young girl said as she was generating her energy. Which will cause another explosion as a result. Before the young girl could do anything. A hand touched the young girl's shoulder quickly causing her to stop. When the young girl saw the one who touched her shoulder. It was a tall and slender man wearing a yellow coat with a hood. What made the man stand out further is that he has sharp yellow eyes.
"So you're the one who caused the explosion, not bad, not bad at all." The man said nan impressed tone
"Who are you? You're not my special one, why did you come?" The young girl asked
"I'm not your special one. But I do know what it is you want. Stand by me and I will help you find your special one. The Life Link has already been established, so you just need to be a bit patient Nu. My name is Yuuki Terumi, and I can help you." Terumi told Nu in a reassuring tone
"The pain, it will finally end. This world must pay for everything I've endured." Nu told Terumi
"Don't worry, I will help you make your dreams and desires a reality." Terumi said while giving a sinister smirk. Before the two could do anything further, the both of them noticed a hooded figure coming to the wrecked location.
"Oh my goodness, what in the world happened here?" The hooded female asked out loud. After she briefly looked around, she saw Nu and quickly ran to her
"Little girl, are you alright? I don't know what happened, but I'll take you to a safe place." The hooded woman said before she quickly and instinctively blocked a kick from Terumi. The kick was strong enough to push her back and after getting pushed back, the hood came down. When the hood came down, the features about her that was noticeable is that she has short red and black hair. Though what made her stand out even further is that she has a pair of silver eyes and she has both skill and experience behind them.
"Oh dear, I was hoping that I wouldn't have to get started on my Huntsman and Huntress killing spree until later on today. But you just had to get here, talk about showing up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Oh well, I guess I can consider this an early start on my quota. Last week I was at 12 killed. Think you can help me get up to 20 killed for this week?" Terumi asked in a sadistic tone causing the Silver-Eyed Huntress to be on her guard
"I don't know who you are or what you plan on doing to that girl. But I'm giving you this one chance to surrender. Either you come with me or be prepared for the consequences." The Silver-Eyed Huntress said to Terumi causing him to laugh
"Wow, look at you trying to sound all intimidating. Though if I were you, I would worry about leaving behind your little girl. If I recall, isn't her name Ruby Rose?" Terumi said causing the Silver-Eyed Huntress to have a surprised look on her face. Before fully focusing on Terumi
"How did you know my daughter's name?" The Silver-Eyed Huntress asked in a demanding tone
"Its within my capabilities, but as I said before you don't need to worry about that. Because your future hinges on the next few seconds Summer Rose. Though we both know that its going to be a very bleak future. So at the very least, try to make it look good. So that if I decide to visit your family, I won't have to tell them how the fight you put up was pathetic and laughable." Terumi said before laughing maniacally
"Ruby, I don't think I'll be able to come back. If I don't I'm sorry for leaving you behind like this. But this man is a monster that I need to fight." Summer thought before she focused on fighting Terumi
(Team CMSN's Dorm Room)
In a very quick and sudden moment, Nu opened her visible eye and quickly stood up. After she stood, she walked to a nearby wall and started to be in deep thought for a few minutes. When her train of thought ended, Nu started to chuckle for a few seconds before she sat back down on the bed.
"Why am I remembering such pointless memories, they don't matter now. The only thing that matters to me is Ragna. I know you're here Ragna, its only a matter of time until I kill you. Once I do, we shall be one and you will be mine forever." Nu said in a low and sadistic tone

Terumi and Relius will show up again later in the Volume 3 portion of this story. Terumi's semblance will be revealed in a future chapter so until then I can't reveal it. The only thing I can say without giving anything away, is that if certain conditions are met. Terumi's/Hazama's semblance can make him OP. Also even without his semblance, Terumi is a VERY powerful character.
A quick heads up, only a handful of characters knows about Terumi, Salem and her inner circle along with Relius are among the few that will refer Hazama as Terumi.
Another thing, The reason that it was Relius that went to recruit Litchi and not Hazama is that if Hazama went. He would end up getting a lot of attention since he is still the Head of the Intelligence Department. So sending Relius to recruit Litchi was the best Hazama could do since Relius was going to Vale anyways and he needed to get past Argus.
One more thing, if you guys hated Cinder and Terumi from their respective Canon. Then wait until this story gets to a few certain events. Because I have a few surprises in store for the Volume 3 portion of this story.
