(A/N) To answer a question I've received about Lambda. I have a special plan for Lambda to be more involved in the story. But I can't give a hint at what those plans are or else I will risk giving away some future spoilers.
Chapter 42 Clashing Suns
(Amity Colosseum Audience seats)
When Ragna approached Jin for help in dealing with a threat in which that Celica and Saya are in danger. Jin was initially cautious of Ragna, since he never comes to Jin for anything. Though after thinking about the criminal activities that's been occurring within Vale. Jin suspected that there are some truths to Ragna's warning. Then after learning about the Maiden that's hidden within the Beacon Vault. Jin realized that the danger is even greater than he initially realized. Then when Ragna told him to be cautious of Cinder. A lot of things started to make some sense.
Unfortunately, there are a few barriers that's complicating thing. One of the biggest ones is that neither Jin nor Ragna has any proof that connects Cinder or her team to the criminal activities that's within Vale. The second barrier is that they can't handle this carelessly or else their family will die. The third barrier is that they do not know what Cinder is fully capable of nor do they know what she's planning. Jin suspects that Cinder had some outside help and that whatever she was planning has been planned for a good deal of time. Jin hates to admit it, but this requires a cautious approach and that means not rushing this carelessly. Which also involves keeping some people in the dark out of respect for Ragna. But the fact that they don't know anything or have any proof makes the matter more frustrating as well.
After the match with team CFVY, Jin quickly made his way to the audience seats while keeping an eye on Celica and Saya. Since Ragna warned him to be cautious of Cinder. Jin figured that the warning will also apply to her teammates. The fact that nobody from team CMSN confronted Jin. Confirms the fact that they do not know that Ragna went to him for help. This is good, because Jin can look into Cinder without them getting suspicious. Though the fact that he has no help, evidence and that he's keeping the suspicions regarding Cinder a secret. Jin has to handle this properly since there is no room for error and one careless mistake could cost Celica and Saya their lives.
"It seems Ragna did as I instructed and announced that him and Makoto will be proceeding further in the tournament. I was never one for these tournaments and Noel has a lot more to improve on when it comes to fighting. So this works out perfectly since it will give me the chance to keep a close eye on Sister Celica and Saya." Jin thought to himself while taking a glance at Celica and Saya. When Jin looked further he saw Mercury sitting at a nearby bench that is a moderate distance from Celica and Saya. Yet at the same time, Jin is barely able to see that Mercury has been focusing portions of his attention at them. After a few minutes have passed, Jin saw Mercury leave to go about his business.
"Things would be different if either of us knew what Cinder's plan is. We know what she wants but how she'll get it is something else entirely. I don't like having to keep people in the dark. But we're still in the dark about things ourselves. I also suspect that Ragna is hiding something else." Jin thought to himself while in deep thought, a brief second later, Jin felt a tap on his shoulder getting him out of his train of thought. When Jin looked to see who it was, he saw that it was Weiss.
"You look bothered by something, is everything alright?" Weiss asked in a concerned tone
"I'm fine Weiss, its just that I'm thinking about a few things." Jin answered
"About the tournament, or the thing your helping Ragna with?" Weiss asked Jin
"You could say that, I've been thinking and I realized in hindsight that things are going to be much harder." Jin told Weiss
"I also assume that Ragna still doesn't want you to tell anyone?" Weiss asked
"That would be accurate, I want to tell you the details but I don't know the full story either." Jin told Weiss
"I know that you're doing the best you can. So don't stress yourself over it too much. But I do have to ask, is there a chance that you could be in danger? I know that I told you to keep the details a secret out of respect for Ragna. But I don't want you to do anything that could cause you to get killed." Weiss asked Jin
"I'll be fine as long as I don't do anything stupid. Also before you ask, both me and Ragna knows not to put other people in danger as well. But the fact that the both of us don't really know anything is bothering us a great deal." Jin briefly explained to Weiss
"Just do the bet you can Jin. But for now let's just watch this match." Weiss told Jin as she was sitting beside him
"Your right, it should help me take my mind off of things. Besides, team SSSN's opponents are strong. I lost to the one named Ky and he's the one who showed me that I can control water." Jin told Weiss
"Then this should be interesting at least." Weiss said as the arena selector was finishing up. The arena that both team SSSN and team SDLK will be fighting on is a forest
"Alright now that the field is selected, both teams may now BEGIN!" Professor Port announced causing both teams to jump into the forest
The only one who didn't jump into the forest was Leo and Sol. After a few seconds, Leo proceeded to take a deep breath and after a quick second released a loud roar into the forest that team SSSN is hiding in. The roar was loud enough to disturb not only team SSSN but also the audience that were in the direction of Leo's power roar. After the roar was finished, Sol used his sword and abilities to make a downward sword slam. When Sol slammed the ground with his sword, he caused an explosive blast that was in the direction of the forest. The explosive burst was strong enough to destroy a good portion of the forest leaving an empty gap.
"It appears Sol used a combination of his semblance and his weapon to destroy the forest to bring down team SSSN in one go." Dr. Oobleck announced to the cheering audience
"Such destructive power." Celica commented
"But it does make sense, change the terrain that suits your needs and the fight will be on your terms." Ragna told Celica
After a portion of the forest was destroyed, both Neptune and Scarlet proceeded to fire at Sol. Reacting quickly though, Leo stood in front of Sol and proceeded to block the shots with his twin greatswords. As Leo was blocking the shots, Sun's light image jumped from the tree and tried to attack Sol. Reacting quickly, Sol used his immense strength to destroy Sun's light image with one swing. After the image was destroyed, Sol made a follow up swing and tried to destroy another section of the forest. Before Sol could do anything further. Sage ran from the forest and tried to attack Sol. Reacting quickly, Sol focused on counterattacking Sage and the two clashed blades against each other. After the clash, the both of them were knocked back for a bit.
"Lets see if you know how to use that large sword of yours." Sol said in a confident tone before he fought against Sage
As Leo was blocking the shots from both Neptune and Scarlet. Several dust crystals were thrown at the trees where the shots were coming from. After a brief moment, there was an explosion of electricity and it caused Neptune and Sun to get out of the trees and away from their hiding spot. After the two teammates were forced out of their hiding spot. They regrouped with each other. While Ky and Dizzy regrouped with Leo.
With the two teammates exposed, Leo made a move to attack the two and eliminate them in one move. Before Leo got close, Sun jumped from the nearby tree and was able to attack Leo with his gunchucks. The attack caught Leo off guard, but he was able to recover quickly. Ky made a move to throw several dust crystals at them after he gave them a charge of electricity. Before the Dust crystals could go far, Neptune and Scarlet fired at the dust crystals and destroyed them. Knowing full well that they could be a problem.
"Alright, we have to deal with them quickly, do any of you have any ideas?" Scarlet asked his teammates
"We have to make this one on one for now. I have an idea on how strong Sol is and I don't know how long Sage can keep up. If we can eliminate at least one of them. Then that will give us a chance to help Sage." Sun said before he went for Leo. While Neptune went for Ky and Scarlet went for Dizzy.
When Neptune went for Ky, he turned his assault rifle into its trident form and went for a direct attack. Unfortunately for Neptune, Ky generated electricity and clashed against Neptune. When the weapons clashed, Neptune was electrocuted for a few seconds before he was pushed back. While Neptune was staggered, Ky followed up by attacking Neptune with his sword. Neptune was hit a few times, but quickly recovered and quickly thought of a plan. After recovering, Neptune ran to the parts of the forest that Sol didn't destroy and hid among the trees. Ky made electric blasts at the trees that Neptune was hiding in. But the trees were strong enough to block the thunder blasts and it gave Neptune the chance to dive from the tree and fire at Ky. Ky quickly used his sword to deflect the shots and realized what Neptune is planning.
"It appears that Neptune is trying to turn the fight against Ky into a war of attrition." Ren said while observing the match
"Why would he do that?" Nora asked
"Neptune probably figured out quickly that he can't beat Ky head on. So he's using the forest to gradually weaken him. At least until one of his other teammates are in a position to help him against Ky." Ren explained to Nora
"Is Ky really that much of a problem?" Nora asked further
"From what I remember from his fight with Jin, then yes he is." Jaune said while paying attention to the match
Scarlet found himself face to face with the female member of team SDLK, Dizzy. When Scarlet took a look at her. He couldn't see any weapons that she could be wielding. But if his time as a student is of any indication, its to not judge a book by its cover.
"I feel a little bad fighting a pretty woman like you." Scarlet commented to Dizzy
"I'm not one for fighting either. But for the sake of the morale of my teammates. I must participate in this tournament and give it my all. But I hope there are no hard feelings for us when this is all over." Dizzy told Scarlet in a kind tone before he drew his gun at her and proceeded to fire.
When Scarlet proceeded to fire his gun, Dizzy was enveloped in an energy to of pure white and a barrier was constructed. The barrier was strong enough block the gun shots, causing Scarlet to run towards her with his sword. Dizzy then decided to dissipate her barrier and proceeded to gracefully dodge Scarlet's sword swings. After dodging Scarlet' sword swings, Dizzy jumped back a bit and made some distance between the two. After the distance was made, Dizzy was enveloped in a black energy and generated electricity. After Dizzy generated electricity, she reached out her hand and blasted electricity at Scarlet. Reacting quickly, Scarlet was able to dodge the thunderblast. But he was caught by surprise by a fireblast that Dizzy made. Scarlet was able to recover, but when he checked the overhead screen. He saw that he lost 15% of his aura. After seeing this, Scarlet decided run to the other side of the field to try and hide from Dizzy. With Dizzy following him.
Sun spent a good deal of time dodging Leo's greatsword swings. Though Leo surpasses Sun in terms of raw strength and power. Sun knows that Leo having all that power won't do any good if Leo can't land a hit. After avoiding another hit, Sun used his gunchucks to fire at Leo for a few seconds. After doing so, Sun retreated to the trees and proceeded to hide from Leo. While Sun was hiding, Leo looked around waiting for some kind of sign that shows which tree Sun is hiding in. After a few seconds of looking. Leo decided to slash at some of the nearby trees when he heard a sound. After slashing the trees, Leo looked around further to see that Sun didn't hide in the destroyed trees.
Realizing that Sun won't come out anytime soon. Leo thought of a plan that would force Sun to come out of hiding. Leo stepped away from the forest and looked at the section of the forest that Sun was likely hiding in. After looking at the section of the forest, Leo took a deep breath prepared to use his power roar. Before Leo could fully use his semblance, Sun's clones jumped from the nearby by tree and attacked Leo in the chest staggering him. While Leo was staggered, Sun himself jumped from the tree and used a blast from his gunchuck to attack Leo's chin. The attack forced Leo to direct his power roar to the sky. Sun followed up by using Leo's large build to flip over him and rapidly attack Leo with a rapid assault of his gunchuck blasts. After the attack assault was finished, Sun grabbed Leo's shoulder and was able to slam him to the ground. When Sun looked at Leo, he saw Leo slowly being able to get up. Before Leo got up completely, Sun attacked him with a barrage of gunchucks blasts. After a few seconds Leo was knocked down for the count.
"With that brutal yet effective attack combo from Sun. Leo is down for the count." Professor Port announced to the audience
"Sun was able to utilize his speed and agility to great affect against his opponent who outclassed him in terms of power and durability. Not to mention he was able to properly use the environment to his advantage." Dr. Oobleck announced explaining what happened
"Looks like your friend was able to take down Leo. I gotta admit, that's not an easy thing to do. But now I need to step it up a bit." Sol said to Sage with a smirk
After Sol spoke to Sage, Sol started to focus more on the fight and started to push back Sage with little effort. Sage did the best he could to hold his ground against Sol. But the younger swordsman quickly realized that Sol was toying with him and was holding back a lot of his strength. After a second has passed. Sol quickly pushed back Sage making some small distance between the two. Once distance was made, Sage charged towards with the intent to deal a strong blow. Unfortunately, the power and speed behind Sol's attack was too much for Sage to handle. Sage was able to block the attack with his sword. But Sol was able to knock him out of the arena and deplete his aura in one move.
"Sol knocked him out in one swing." Jaune said in a shocked tone
"From his facial expression, it looks like he was holding back while fighting Sage. If I didn't know any better, I'd say Sol was just toying with his opponent." Ren said voicing his thoughts
"That kind of strength is monstrous." Celica commented while Ragna looked with a focused gaze
"With an amazing display of strength. Sage is knocked out of the ring with an aura depletion. Would someone please make sure he's alright." Dr. Oobleck announced to the audience
Neptune spent a good deal of time maintaining a small distance between him and Ky. While also fighting him using his weapon's trident form. Every time Ky tried to get close, Neptune maintained the distance to prevent himself having to fight Ky in close quarters. After the two fought for a good deal of time, Ky realized that Neptune is either trying to find an opening, waiting for more help to arrive, or gradually weaken him. Ky then decided to end things in one move by throwing several dust shards at him. Neptune quickly deflected each of the dust shards while also maintaining his distance. After a few seconds were spent deflecting the dust crystals, Neptune charged towards Ky. Unfortunately, Ky generated electricity and blasted Neptune with the electric attack. Neptune was able to dodge the thunder blast but it was what Ky wanted.
Because the thunder attack was able to hit one of the thunder dust that Neptune deflected earlier. When Ky's electricity hit the thunder dust, all of the thunder dust that was around Neptune started to glow brightly. After a few seconds of glowing, all of the thunder dust discharged electricity and it homed in on Neptune. The blue-haired student did the best he could to endure the attack but after doing so old he greatly injured. Despite his injuries, Neptune was still able to stand and wield his weapon. Unfortunately, before Neptune could do anything, Ky quickly ran in front of him and raised his sword while generating electricity. A brief second later, Ky slammed down his sword and managed to slash Neptune. As Ky landed the attack, a large thunderbolt appeared, and Neptune was hit with the thunderbolt attack following the slash. When the thunderbolt dissipated, Neptune was lying on the ground face up while twitching.
"I guess after today I'm going to be afraid of thunder." Neptune muttered
"I'm sorry for the injuries, my girlfriend Dizzy will heal you once this is over." Ky said before he left to go help Dizzy
"With that shockingly strong attack, Neptune's aura is depleted." Dr. Oobleck announced to the audience
"What you said was stupid Doctor." Professor Port told his fellow announcer
Scarlet spent a good deal of time shoot at Dizzy from as many angles as he could. However, Dizzy's barrier proved to be very durable and Scarlet couldn't do anything. As Scarlet was shooting, Dizzy blasted her opponent with various energy blasts every chance she had. Scarlet skillfully dodged each of Dizzy's energy blasts and counterattacked with his gunshots. Unfortunately, Dizzy's barrier quickly appeared and blocked Scarlet's gun shots. After a few seconds, Scarlet had to reload his pistol and decided to hide behind one of the trees to do so. This was what Dizzy wanted, because after Scarlet hid behind a tree. Dizzy gathered a lot of wind to the palm of her hands and made wind sphere. After the wind sphere was made, Dizzy threw it at the location Scarlet was at. When the wind sphere hit the tree, a tornado was summoned and Scarlet was lifted up above with the powerful wind. Scarlet tried to stay close to the ground, but the gust was too strong and the only thing he could do was ride the wind. After a few seconds, the wind stopped and Scarlet quickly dropped to the ground outside of the arena. He was wasn't hurt, but he is now out of the match.
"It appears that Dizzy blew us away with her abilities and managed to eliminate Scarlet by ring out." Dr. Oobleck said to a cheering crowd
"That was even more stupid." Professor Port said to the Doctor
It didn't take too long for Sun to take a quick look at the screen and see that all of his other teammates were eliminated. Once Sun realized that it is now a one vs three fight, he made a move to get to the parts of the forest that wasn't destroyed. Unfortunately, before he could make it to the forest. Sol destroyed the rest of the forest with his immense power, destroying Sun's best chance to even the odds. When he looked around the area, Sun saw Sol, Ky, and Dizzy approach him. Before Sun did anything, Sol stepped forward and started to speak.
"Its one on three kid, no shame in giving up knowing your odds." Sol told Sun with a smug smirk
"Nah, I'm not the kind of person to give up knowing my odds." Sun said before he took up a fighting stance
"Hahahaha, I knew I had a good feeling about you. You even managed to take down Leo, so you have some potential at least. But we both know the outcome." Sol said before he dashed towards Sun and the two clashed weapons against each other.
As the two clashed, Sun jumped back for a brief second and tried to blast Sol with his gunchucks. Sol was able to quickly guard against the blasts and after doing so, he quickly dashed in front of Sun and made a downward slash against him. Sun saw the attack and quickly moved to the side and managed to avoid the attack. After he avoided the attack, Sun was able to counterattack and hit Sol with a quick barrage of blasts from his gunchucks. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be enough to deal with Sol and before Sun could hit Sol again with his gunchucks. Sol grabbed the gunchucks with his free hand. Sol then proceeded to deliver a strong fired burst from his sword against Sun and was able to knock out Sun depleting his aura in the process.
"With that, the winner of this match is team SDLK." Professor Port announced to the cheering audience
"Team SSSN was able to put up a tremendous fight, but their teamwork was not strong enough to overcome the combined might and experience that team SDLK accumulated over the years." Dr. Oobleck said
"Looks like the match is officially over. Dizzy, why don't you go and do your thing before you and Ky start complaining." Sol said to Dizzy casuing her to approach Sun
"The only reason we complain is because you don't know a thing about restraint and the people you fight against sometimes ends up hospitalized." Ky said as Dizzy got close to Sun. Once Dizzy made it to Sun, she reached out her hands and enveloped Sun in a warm light that lasted a few seconds. When the warm light dissipated, Sun opened his eyes and proceeded to get up. As Sun was getting up, he saw Dizzy walk towards Neptune and Leo and did for them what she did for him. After a quick second, Neptune and Leo made their way to where Sun, Sol, and Ky are.
"I feel completely refreshed, what did your teammate do?" Sun asked in a curious tone
"Dizzy's semblance lets her use her aura and the elements for a variety of purposes. I'd tell you more but why spoil the surprise. What you do need to know is that she used her abilities to heal." Sol briefly explained to Sun
"Dizzy doesn't like to fight or hurt people. So part of the terms for her to fight with us in this tournament is for her to be allowed to heal the people we fight against." Ky told Sun
"Well I do feel a lot better after being healed by someone so pretty." Neptune told his opponents
"I appreciate you compliment, but you should know that I'm going out with her, and I also care about her a great deal." Ky told Neptune causing him to have an awkward laugh and look
"You must be pretty skilled to be able to beat Leo the way you did. Though you didn't stand a chance against me, you did put up a good fight. Next time we go at it, I'm sure you'll do better." Sol said praising Sun
"Thanks, I know we'll do better next time." Sun said before him and Sun shook hands
During the entirety of the match, Ragna paid close attention to Sol. After the brief sparring match Ragna had with Sol, he had a strong feeling that their blades would cross once again. So when Ragna saw that Sol was participating in the tournament, he realized that the inevitable clash would occur soon and he had to know what Sol was capable of. The only thing that Ragna knows after watching the match is that Sol is holding back a great deal. If he is to have any chance, then Ragna can't allow himself to hold back either. Though the issue of Cinder haunts him greatly, Ragna isn't in a position to do anything and until something changes. He's going to have to focus on the tournament.
"What's up Ragna." Yang said quickly surprising Ragna
"Oh hey Yang, its nice to see you." Ragna responded causing Yang to look at him with some concern
"I see you have something on your mind, So what are you thinking about. Personal stuff, or are you afraid of fighting me and my team in the tournament?" Yang said in a teasing tone
"Please, if you think I'm scared of fighting you. Then you must have forgotten the sparing match that we had a few months ago." Ragna responded in a confident tone
"That's only because I was going easy on you. If I was serious, then you wouldn't have stood a chance." Yang responded matching Ragna's confidence before she started to have a concerned look on her face
"But seriously though, is there something wrong Ragna? I'm honestly surprised that you were able to work with Jin for the tournament." Yang said in a slightly concerned tone
"We agreed to a truce, for the duration of the tournament we won't try to tear each other apart. We also found a way for us to settle things from what happened 8 years ago. Its not a lot but it is a step." Ragna briefly explained to Yang
"I see, so what did you two agree to?" Yang asked Ragna
"We'll fight at the end of the year until we graduate." Ragna plainly answered
"Your kidding?" Yang bluntly said
"I'm not and its better that way when you think about it. Me and Jin don't really talk and the best way we communicate is with our fists and weapons." Ragna told Yang
"I see, well that makes sense now that I think about it. Still at least you guys are making an effort." Yang told Ragna in a reassuring tone
"Yeah, its not the best way we can settle things, but at least it's a step in the right direction." Ragna told Yang
"It looks like Sun's team got wrecked by Sol's team huh?" Yang told Ragna
"Not too surprising when you think about who they were up against. Sol and his team has a lot of experience behind them and they know how to utilize their strengths. Sun and his team are good, but there lacking a lot compared to their opponents. Not to mention that Sol was holding back a lot of his full strength and was just enjoying himself." Ragna told Yang causing her to give Ragna an impressed look
"Not bad, I guess your master taught you to notice those things?" Yagn asked Ragna
"Yeah, one of the things my master taught me early on is to never judge someone by appearances. Because I'll be surprised at what that person is capable of." Ragna told Yang
"Looks like your master taught you well. But if he really is holding back a lot, then I feel sorry for the poor person that ends up fighting him in the tournament." Yang told Ragna
"Really, I thought a thrill seeker like yourself would jump at the chance to take on someone as strong as him." Ragna commented to Yang
"It doesn't look like it, but I do have my limits. Don't tell me you actually want to take him on." Yang told Ragna
"Of course I do, I wanna finish what we started and I have a feeling that he feels the same way. Besides I have no doubt that if we end up fighting each other in the tournament. Then our fight will be an incredible one." Ragna said with a great deal of excitement at the idea of fighting Sol in the tournament
"Then it's a fight I'm looking towards seeing." Yang said to Ragna
"Now that everyone has settled down from the previous fight. It is time for the next match to be decided. Who will be the one to face each other in the tournament?" Professor Port said as the randomizer were making the selection. After a few seconds, the first team that was selected for the fight is team RWBY. The other team that they will be facing are of students that have a variety of looks.
"Looks like we're up, wish us luck Ragna." Yang said before she left to go to the arena with her team.
"Alright, good luck Yang." Ragna responded
(Moments Later)
"Alright everyone, this is what we've trained all semester for." Ruby said to her team with a lot of confidence
"We have proper coordination." Weiss said
"We're fully prepared for the tournament." Blake added to the statement
"We also kicked a lot of butt over the semester. So by comparison this should be a breeze." Yang added with a confident tone
"Exactly, so all we need to do is to remember our training and team attacks and we'll have this match in the bag." Ruby said in a confident tone. After Ruby made her statement, three individuals made it to the arena. One of the individuals is a female with long brown hair and is wearing a red silk dress with black trims. The second individual is a muscular man wearing a business suit and glasses with peach hair that is tied to a ponytail. The third individual is a slender individual with long blonde hair and is wearing a blue attire.
"Um are there only three of you?" Ruby asked in a tone that is mixed with concerned and curious
"Our leader will be here soon, he insisted on making an entrance." The blonde hair individual said
"Um you sound like a guy." Ruby commented
"Well that's because I am a guy. My name is Bridget. The one on my right is name Jam and the one on my left is name Answer. My leader Chipp will be here soon." Bridget said introducing himself and his team
"Wait, you're a guy and your name is Bridget." Yang said in a slightly surprised tone
"Yeah, there's a reason that my name is Bridget and that I dress like this but it's a bit complicated." Bridget told Yang
"That won't be a problem will it?" Jam said prepared to defend Bridget
"It's no problem at all, we have a friend who dresses like Bridget. It just caught me by surprise. Remind me to introduce you after we win." Yang said to Bridget
"Your not short on confidence, but don't underestimate us." Answer told Yang
"Well where is your . . . ." Ruby said before a male with white hair jumped between the teams. After he landed, he rose up and proceeded to strike a dynamic ninja pose. After the pose was struck, Chipp proceeded to speak
"I thank you for granting us the honor to fight against you in the tournament. May the better team win and the losing team learn and improve for the future." Chipp said in a confident tone
"Well he's certainly humble." Blake commented to her team causing them to nod in agreement
"Then lets not disappoint and give it our all." Ruby said before her and the rest of her team took up fighting stances as Chipp's team did the same thing. After a few seconds, the arena changed to have a city structure theme.
"Alright, both teams nay now . . . BEGIN!" Professor Port announced before Ruby and Blake proceeded to fire at there opponents.
Before the bullets reached them, Bridget used his yo-yos and spun them around in a circle to create a barrier. The yo-yo shield was strong enough to protect Bridget and his team. After a brief second, Answer threw some cards to the ground. A second after the cards hit the ground, they exploded causing a smokescreen that caught team RWBY off guard. While team RWBY were covered in the smokescreen, Each of them were hit with a bladed slash. They tried to catch the attacker, but they kept missing their attack.
After getting hit once again, Weiss switched the dust cartridge of her weapon and stabbed her sword to the ground. After doing so, she used a good deal of her strength and aura to summon a glyph and created a strong gust of wind to blow away the smokescreen. After the smokescreen was cleared, team RWBY saw Chipp dashing towards them with his arm blades out. When Ruby saw Chipp, she used her semblance to rush towards Chipp and the two clashed blades against each other before they made space between them.
When Yang saw that Ruby was about to fight, she ran to give her sister some back-up. Unfortunately, she quickly blocked a kick from Jam and realized that she has to deal with Jam before she could help her sister. When the two girls saw each other they both clashed against each other with their attacks. Yang with her punches and Jam with her kicks.
Blake looked around to see if there would be any other surprise attacks. Though a brief second later, she did a backflip and was able to avoid an attack from Answer. Blake tried to shoot at him, but Answer used his speed to avoid the shots and hid behind the various walls that was part of the city setting. Blake pursued him but remained on guard so she wouldn't be caught by surprise. Before Blake made it far, Answer threw some of his cards at her. Blake was able to deflect the cards and fired at Answer in response. Answer went back to hiding turning the fight between the two into a war of attrition.
For Weiss, after she blew away the smokescreen. She saw Bridget run towards her. As Bridget was getting closer, he was twirling his yo-yos getting ready for an attack. Before he got too close, Weiss used her sword to blow away Bridget before he could attack her. Bridget was able to recover, but realized that being able to fight Weiss in close quarters is going to be harder than he thought.

The Vytal Tournament has gotten a lot of attention from a lot of people within Remnant. So it is to be expected that there would be a large number of people who would tune in to watch the tournament for various reasons. Either for the entertainment value, to show support for their Kingdoms Academy, or for the occasional side bet to make things interesting. The patrons of the various bars within Remnant fall somewhere of the three.
"Those students are really something else. I never thought a set of yo-yos could be used as a weapon." The Bartender said to the other patrons
"Yeah, but what about that blonde girl. She looks like she can knock you out eight ways to Sunday." The other bar patron said
"Yeah, I got some Lien on this match, gotta show some love and support to the home Kingdom of Vale." The other patron said in a proud tone
"While making money on the side?" Another patron said in a sarcastic tone
"I show support for my Kingdom, while the ones who bet against good old Vale support my wallet." The betting patron responded
"I'm not against a wager. But if you ask me, those kids still have a lot to learn." Qrow said while overhearing the conversation
"Who do you think will win this match? I noticed that you haven't been speaking about the other matches." The Bartender said to Qrow
"I don't really care about those matches. The Tournament matches are nice to watch, but I've got my own fights to worry about." Qrow said as he was drinking while watching his nieces tournament match.

I've created a new poll about whether or not I should implement the Chibi segments either at the end of the chapter, or they should be there own separate chapter. If I put them at the end of the chapter, it will be similar to how I handle the CODECS and Reminisce segments in my other story Metal Ga Kill Rising (CH 15 and onwards). But they won't be at every chapter and they will be implemented when I get to the Volume 4 portion of the story. Though if I make them separate chapters, there will be more but the wait for them might be longer.
Once the Chibi segments are implemented, anyone is welcomed to give ideas and I will give credit when I implement the segments that someone gave me ideas for.
For the match of Sun's team vs Sol's team, Sun's team is strong in their own right. But Sol and his teammates have a lot more experience and capabilities behind them. Even though Sun's natural skills and abilities allowed him to beat Leo. Him and his team didn't stand much of a chance against Sol, Ky, and Dizzy.
