Ranma and the Talismans chapter 7

I think it's time to say that the story is also on space battles, and if you want to get into some discussions involving the story, I recommend checking it out.

Without further delay here's part three of the Ryoga arc, I hope you all enjoy it, and I hope you all had a good International woman's day.

P-Chan vs Three Girls

Ranma awoke with an ice pack over her head and bruised chest, and her hair wasn't taller than herself. Getting up with a slight headache, she noticed Jade was just about to fall asleep. However, the girl from Hong Kong quickly got up in excitement and shouted, "you're awake! Are you all right Ranma sensei? Kasumi said you will be all right within a few hours, but I decided to stick around to make sure. I even cut your hair to what it was earlier to help keep your secret".

Ranma after letting out a quick wince in pain said, "no worries Jade I have recovered from worse. Some of Pop's training sessions can be really painful and I'm talking about the ones that went right". Jade after hearing this knowing her friend would be all right, let out a quick laugh, and smiled.

To Jade's confusion, Ranma didn't head back to the dojo for a good night's sleep she instead got dressed, grabbed a hot tea kettle, and started walking. Jade saw this and quickly asked, "Ranma where are you going"?

The red-haired girl simply replied, "I cannot say, but I need to get that pig away from Akane".

Jade simply shrugged her shoulders, and said "Ok. I trust you. Although if you plan to sneak into Akane's room you may want to send me instead if you want to avoid being burned alive by a dragon".

Ranma immediately stopped in his tracks after hearing those words and softly and confusedly asked, "you trust me"?

Jade nonchalantly answered, "we are friends, of course, I will trust you. This fact will not change just because you got into a fight with one cute little animal. I trust you Ranma over a farmyard animal any day".

Ranma smiled at this and quickly tried to wipe away the tears appearing on his face. Jade figured Ranma probably wanted to switch topics so the girl brought up her theory. "So I take it Akane's, new pet is Ryoga"?

Ranma's face of joy quickly got replaced by confusion when he asked, "how did you know Jade".

The black-haired girl simply replied by saying, "I found it weird that a pig suddenly showed up in Akane's room the same night Ryoga disappeared. However, if the pig was Ryoga it would explain all of P-Chan's actions involving you and Akane. Plus, unless you're keeping a friend's secret I'm pretty sure you would've told me the truth straight away about why you are going into Akane's room".

Ranma looked impressed at this answer. "I'm still surprised how smart you can be sometimes Jade; you were right on the money. The only thing you didn't get was that me and Pops were partially responsible for Ryoga's curse. Apparently, I was so blinded by rage after receiving mine I accidentally knocked Ryoga into a spring without realizing it. So the least I can do for the guy is keep his secret. However, that doesn't mean I will let the pig do whatever he wants with Akane"!

Jade quickly snatched the tea kettle and began sneaking into Akane's room. However, before she disappeared from her mentor's sight Jade said, "you know, getting Ryoga cursed was a jerk move. However, I will help you figure out a way to make it up to your rival after I get that dirty pig out of my cousin's room".

Akane's room

Jade sneakily approached the sleeping Akane and pig and whispered to the animal, "back away from the girl P-Chan. If you so much as squeal you will find out what happens when your protector sees a naked guy"!

Under normal circumstances, Jade holding a hot kettle is about as threatening as a Chihuahua. Less so to a trained martial artist like Ryoga. However, to P-Chan Jade looked like a sinister shark about ready to enjoy some Ryoga-flavored bacon.

Jade attempted to hold up P-Chan by its bandanna, but the still-sleeping Akane grabbed a hold of the pig. This forced Jade to grab the pig's bandanna from the other end subsequently allowing Ryoga to bite the young girl's hand, and forcing her to let go. Jade quickly drop the kettle in pain. Luckily for her, she was able to put her hand in front of her mouth to muffle her screams.

The eternally lost pig began, bouncing around the room and trying to force Jade to admit defeat. However, Jade just like her master was too stubborn to give up. She quickly grabbed ahold of the kettle and began trying to smack the pig from mid-air or splash the creature.

However, the pig was too agile and all Jade managed to do was splash Akane. Yet just like Ranma being splashed with a little bit of hot water doesn't seem to wake the slumbering girl. The two combatants even stopped for a moment to register how much of a sound sleeper the youngest Tendo was.

Their battle quickly continued. However, The two were in a complete stalemate. Jade couldn't hit the pig out of the air. Yet Ryoga could barely mess up Jade's hair without risking beings splashed. Yet the stalemate ended when the kid knocked the farm yard animal onto the ground, but in her rush to capitalize on this weakness the girl slipped on one of Akane's weights and was falling to the ground.

In desperation to break her fall Jade grabbed onto the covers of the bed. Yet all this managed to do was move the covers half off of the sleeping girl. This action was enough to wake the girl up.

Jade noticing her cousin was stirring from her slumber, frantically began to move and hide with the kettle in tow. With speed and stealth that would shock the Saotomes, Jade manage to successfully get under Akane's bed before the girl could fully awaken. A few seconds later Akane was awake, looking around, and saw her pet on the other side of the room.

However, examining the messed up covers Akane felt wet bedsheets. Crimson covered the young girl's face as she muttered, "I can't believe I wet the bed again"! Immediately Akane grabbed her wet blankets, and made her way out of the room, hoping to dry them before the others awaken.

All the while the pig smirked in Jade's direction with a smug victorious look on his face.

Morning Tendo House

Nabiki woke up tired. With the storm and constant activity in the house during the night she didn't get much sleep. Yet she was awake enough to tell Jade and Ranma missed out on around four hours of sleep, simply based on the bags under their eyes. In curiosity, the middle sister asked, "what kept you two awake all night"?

Ranma sighed, "Yeah, of course, you would be wondering why this happened to us".

Jade yawned before adding, "long story short? It's all because Ryoga's a dirty hog."

Hearing this Akane angrily snatched the duo's rice and begin feeding it to P-chan. The two stared daggers into Akane's direction, and all the girl could say to this was, "Ranma you hurt this precious little piglet, you deserved to lose some rice. As for you Jade since father and Kasumi aren't going to punish you for siding with that jerk my guess It's up to me to punish my student".

The youngest Tendo sister then walked off to finish her breakfast on the porch. Nabiki took a look at Ranma in sympathy and spoke in a sorrowful tone, "sorry about my sister's behavior. Akane has trouble understanding there are multiple sides to the same story. Meanwhile, when Akane disagrees with someone a lot, she sees them as the bad guy regardless of what happens. To make matters worse Akane is even reluctant to apologize whenever she jumps to conclusions. She has been like that ever since she was young, and those traits have gotten her into more fights and detentions than she is willing to admit. So why don't you tell me what happened between the red head and Akane's new pet, and let's see if I can smooth it over"?

Jade then bluntly said "Ryoga got a Jusenkyo curse that transforms him into a pig. Akane found the pig Ryoga transforms into and adopted it as a pet, and is completely unaware of the curse. Ranma found out about the curse last night. Then Ryoga attacked Ranma in pig form destroying the laundry room.

Jade paused for a brief second to take a deep breath before continuing to summarize last night's events. "Akane seeing Ranma beating up her new pet P-Chan attacked her fiancé with the Falcon of Pestilence and knocked my sensei out. After that, I tried defending Ranma and Akane got angry at me. Once Ranma woke up, I quickly learned what was happening. Both of us have been trying and failing to catch and expose that dirty pig for the past couple of hours, but that piglet is easily the slipperiest animal on the farm.

Ranma was the first to respond by saying "why would you say that Jade"?!

Jade tiredly responded by saying, "I have been up for the past several hours, trying and failing to catch a pig. I don't have the energy to give my cousin the long version that keeps Ryoga's secret just to uphold your specific code of honor! Besides Nabiki was bound to figure out your rival is Akane's new pet eventually with all the breadcrumbs we will inevitably give her".

Nabiki looked confused after hearing all of that. Even for her, that was a lot to process. yet, the information quickly began to organize itself within the middle sister's mind. This was evident when she muttered, "this explains why both of my sisters have been so angry".

Ranma raised an eyebrow and inquisitively asked "both"?

Nabiki calmly replied, "Kasumi is better at masking her emotions than anyone I know. Yet by living with her for 17 years, I figured a few tricks to identifying my older sister's emotional state. For example, whenever she's having trouble containing her anger Kasumi's right eyebrow twitches. Although if you were not paying close attention you'll miss it. Although, we should be talking about the fact Ryoga getting too chummy with my little sister"!

Jade bluntly said, "I tried telling Akane the truth an hour ago, but she just ignored me. Akane even said, 'I shouldn't jump to conclusions just because Ryoga and P-Chan has the same-looking bandana. Even when Ranma backed me up Akane just punched him in the face and said 'don't lie to Jade'. If I had Akane's temper, I would have performed that Falcon of Pestilence on her".

Curious Nabiki asked, "what is the Falcon of Pestilence anyway"?

The red head shivered from the phantom pain before explaining the technique. "it's a cheap shot for fighting girls. You grab a girl with a claw strike." For a visual demonstration Ranma made one hand into a gripping claw like shape then said hand hovered over Nabiki's chest. "First you squeeze like a falcon catching its prey, then twist as if you were ringing out a towel, and finally you pull back your arm with tremendous force. It was apparently one of the two techniques my Pop's master deemed forbidden. Yet my guess your father taught the two forbidden techniques to Akane for self-defense, but didn't drill the forbidden part into her head well enough". Concluded, the young Saotome looked sick just by describing the technique.

Nabiki grimaced at this explanation and began apologizing, "from the deepest depths of my heart I am so sorry Ranma". The brunette then took a deep gulp and said something that Takawaki Kuno thought Nabiki Tendo would never do. "Why don't I bring you out for ice cream sometime... My treat".

Ranma then frantically waved her hands and said, "no apologies necessary it was Akane who did it. I'm just glad that your sister didn't use the second for bidden technique on me in guy form, the nutcracker of death". Although in a much calmer tone, Ranma continued by saying, "although I will hold you up to that free ice cream social, Nabiki".

Jade slyly commented, "could you two save planning your first date for after we take care of the pig"?

The twos face became about as red as Ranma's hair after hearing this. However, after a few seconds Nabiki still with pink cheeks did manage to say, "no worries Jade I have a plan to deal with Ryoga".

A little while later

Akane stepped back into the family room, glared at Ranma, and said, "so Nabiki what do you want"?

The middle sister calmly said, "I heard of the argument between you three and since Kasumi is out shopping I figured it was my responsibility to solve it. Since these two are convinced P-Chan is Ryoga why don't you give your pet a warm bath, or simply splashed him with this tea kettle I prepared".

Akane huffed, and then replied, "fine if it would make those two stop talking nonsense about P-Chan". The pig hearing this began to sweat profusely and attempted to walk away without being detected. Yet the youngest Tendo girl grabbed a hold of her pet and prepared to spill some hot water onto the animal.

Yet before a single drop of hot water was spilled P-Chan grab a hold of the spout with its mouth and began to chug the steaming liquid. The four humans were in shock at the piglet's actions. Before they knew it the pig with an inflated belly drank twice its body weight in hot water and promptly rolled on its back in pain.

This action made what little doubt Nabiki had about the pig being Ryoga vanish. However, the same thing couldn't be said for the youngest Tendo sister. The black-haired girl gently held up the pig and began to gently rub the animal's stomach to alleviate some of the pain. "You poor baby what on earth could've made you do something like that? Let's go to the furo so you can cough up that water and prove to those meanies you are a normal piggy with a nice hot bath".

P-Chan after drinking all that water looked like it was about to pop. Yet those words still managed to get the pig to move frantically. However, with the piglet inflated like a balloon, said frantic movement was hardly noticed. However, the pig still managed to get away at the last possible minute.

The farm yard animal mere feet from the tub barbed up all the water it drank onto Akane. This distraction allowed P-Chan to escape from her grasp and run back into the family room. Yet Akane still unaware of Ryoga's secret ran back into the room and shouted, "this changes nothing you guys, plenty of pets' hate taking a bath".

In response to this Nabiki shrugged her shoulders and said, "oh well, it appears I will have to move to plan C". The brunette then clapped her hands to signal the beginning of her third plan. Yet Ryoga wasn't afraid of this statement. With a determined look in his eyes, the pig stared at his three adversaries ready for whatever they might bring. Yet it wasn't those free the eternally lost pig should be worried about.

The pig stared daggers into Ranma, Jade, and Nabiki, but none of the girls in the house so much lifted a finger in response to Nabiki's plan C. Right when P-Chan was starting to realize something fishy was happening the pig felt hot water pouring onto its head. The pig only had a second before the change and attempted to bolt. Yet this only revealed the culprit behind the hot water. A panda with a tea kettle in hand blocked the pig's path.

P-Chan immediately disappeared and a naked Ryoga emerged in its place. Akane was left speechless. Her mind was shifting from concerned, pet owner to that of an angry executioner. She was so mad the girl didn't even register what Genma was doing. The panda walked over to the trio, held out his left hand, and pulled out a sign with his right that read, [pay up].

Jade handed a ¥500 coin to the panda and said, "here you go, uncle Genma".

In response, the panda flips the sign over with the words [what!] plastered all over it.

Jade calmly said, "this is the amount of money Nabiki gave me for probably drumming up ¥6000 worth of bets. This should be more than enough payment for splashing a pig with some hot water".

The panda flipped the sign over, but it read something different than before, [oh well still more than triple my current savings]. Yet before Jade could question this impossible feat a loud sound shook the house.

Akane's mind had finally finished reloading and she let out a scream of rage that could leave demons quaking in their boots. The girl then ran at Ryoga at top speed. In response, Ryoga attempted to say, "wait Akane I can explain…". Yet before the boy could finish his exclamation an Akane-style beat down began.

The girl grabbed a hold of Ryoga's arm and through him to the wall. If you would listen closely you would have noticed a notable pop coming from Ryoga mid-flight. By the time the eternally lost boy regained his bearings the embodiment of rage that was Akane began to whale on the black hair boy, and Ryoga started screaming in pain.

Seeing the carnage Akane was releasing Ranma put his hands in front of Jade's face and guided her out of viewing range. In irritation, the kid asked, "why can't I see the fight"?!

Ranma simply responded, "Jade this is not a fight it's a massacre! One that's too violent for someone of your age to see! In fact, it might even be too brutal for someone of my age to see". With these words said the two made their way into the interior of the house until the pain screams stopped.

One hour later

Ryoga had received so many injuries he wasn't able to scream. Her focused rampage was so brutal the wall behind the eternally lost boy had been turned to rubble. Seeing her sister had finally stopped attacking Nabiki asked, "have you got it out of your system yet Akane"?

The black-haired girl kicked the down boy one more time, took a few deep breaths, and said, "I think so". Seeing Jade and Ranma had decided to check in Akane walked over to their location, and bent down on one knee before speaking again. "I'm sorry, Jade, I should have believed you about Ryoga. Could you ever forgive me"?

The kid simply smiled and said, "apology accepted cuzz. Just try to hold back your anger next time I make a mistake, all right? Although isn't there someone else you should be apologizing to"?

Akane got into a thinking pose yet after about a minute had passed she finally came up with an answer. "I suppose I should apologize to Kasumi for the mess P-Chan caused". After saying those words, the girl quickly ran off in search of her oldest sister.

Ranma shouted at the fleeing girl, "Jade was referring to me you ungrateful tomboy". Akane didn't respond to her fiancé's words, either because she was out of range, or decided to ignore the redhead with that "ungrateful tomboy" part at the end. Ranma not hearing a response took a deep exhale in exasperation.

The next thing Ranma said shocked the only two people in listening range. "Oh, well, I might as well bring that jerk Ryoga to dr. Tofu for treatment. Or at least this human-shaped bruise I think is him".

Confused Jade asked, "didn't he try to kill you earlier and get you in trouble with Akane literally a day ago"?!

Ranma picking up her rival then said, "he only did that stuff because I couldn't control my rage at Pop's back in China, and if it wasn't for the curse, he wouldn't have rightfully earned Akane's wrath. This guy if I like to or not is my responsibility. Although, after he accidentally destroyed the dragon's whisker, I think I am a few good favors away from being even with Ryoga. So sending this guy to the doctor is the least that I can do to even out my debt".

Ranma picked up the unconscious Ryoga bridal style. The boy in response muttered, "curse you Ranma Saotome", and drifted back into unconsciousness. Yet before the girl left Nabiki took a picture of the comedic site. This picture might not make the middle sister much money, but to her and Ranma it was comedy gold.

Several hours later

The orange and yellow evening sky had emerged as normal, yet something peculiar had just driven into the neighborhood. A yellow cab had driven up to the Tendo house, Soun gaze drifted to the vehicle and the person who stepped out shook the man to his core. An old man had stepped out of the vehicle, wearing a yellow polyester vest. Noticing the old man had spotted him Soun quickly, ran into the house and hollered, "girls get ready he's here"!

The old man walked up to the front door and rang the doorbell. Jade happily rushed to the door and greeted the visitor. When she opened the door a huge grin appeared on the girl's face and proceeded to give the old man a hug that almost knocked him over. Yet the guy simply smiled at this, and return the hug. Jade then said, "It's so good to see you, Uncle"!

In a happy voice, Uncle replied, "it's good to see you too Jade".

This chapter marks the end of the Ryoga arc and the welcome to the Nerima saga. The first Saga of the story. The next chapter titled uncle will begin the Talisman saga.

1&2.) No Name Steak, and mad thought- Since both of your answers are similar I'll answer them simultaneously. I decided to reveal Ryoga's Secret to Akane, both of your wishes have been answered. What can I say there's no way he could convince Jade P-Chan is a normal pig for long, and when Jade figures out the secret there is no way Ryoga could convinced a girl to stay quiet. This goes double if Nabiki finds out.

I did ponder some alternate endings to this arc, like Akane being Kuno levels ignorant, or Ryoga getting ridiculously lucky during every exposure attempt during the story. However, both of these solutions wouldn't be satisfying, and involve giving the pig dangerous levels of plot armor. So I figured exposing Ryoga's secret was the best option; especially when I considered the fact this plot line doesn't bring much to the table.

3.) djinn- thank you and I hope you enjoy this one. I also hoped you enjoyed the ending to the first saga and this story. I can promise you all that the next saga is going to be a lot better, but you may have to be patient when it comes to updates for the next saga.

Next time: Uncle comes to visit to help with Ranma and his Father's magical problems. Meanwhile, Soun is trying to impress the guy for his own reasons. However, Genma accidentally put a wrench in their plans.

Since I am only about 20% of the way through the Uncle chapter I'm sad to say that you all would have to wait extra-long for the next update of the story. The next chapter will arrive at the earliest on St. Patrick's Day. At the latest the next chapter will come out sometime in early April. It all depends on how favorable the Muses are.

Lastly, I'm looking for ideas on how Ranma could impress, or at the very least earn Uncle's respect in the next chapter. I am planning on having Ranma save the guy from a falling tree branch, but I need at least one more good interaction between the two to earn Uncle's favor. Enough for the guy to see Ranma as a net positive influence on Jade with Genma around.
