(A/N) This chapter will be the start of the fall of Beacon arc of volume 3. Even though the chapters will have different names, it will be multiple part under the same story arc. Also there will be some chapters that has some intense moments. So I wanted to give you all the warning just to be safe.
Another thing, at this point in the story. Only a small handful of people are able to fight against Beast Ragna. Jin with the power of order, Hakumen, Azrael, Jubei, and also Valkenhayn are among the few that can fight against Beast-Ragna. Also even if Ruby has gotten as strong as the Six Heroes, her silver eyes powers would still have NO EFFECT against Beast-Ragna.
The reason Valkehayn allowed Jin to fight Beast-Ragna while using the Power of Order. Is because Rachel told him to do so. Because it was the best way to make sure that Ragna would be subdued without getting unintentionally killed.
Chapter 51 Under Kingdom's Divide PT 1
(Amity Arena)
As of this moment, Jin is facing a threat that's unlike anything he's ever seen before. The very power and sense of dread that Beast-Ragna is emanating far surpasses that of anything that Jin has ever faced before. As if Ragna has become the physical embodiment of the very negativity that attracted the Grimm. The ones who were near both Jin and Ragna could feel the power from the two. From feeling the power just by presence alone, it's clear that a fierce clash is about to be underway.
Once a split second has passed, Beast-Ragna quickly charged towards Jin and started to furiously attack him. Fortunately, Jin was able to react and defend himself in a blinding speed. After being able to successfully block Beast-Ragna's attacks, Jin proceeded to counterattack with the hopes to freeze Beast-Ragna before things escalated than they already have.
For a good deal of time, both Jin and Beast-Ragna fought against each other at an intense speed that amazed everyone who is watching. Every attack that Beaast-Ragna is making, is quickly and skillfully dodged by Jin. After a few more attacks were avoided, Beast-Ragna slammed both of his hands down with the hopes to kill Jin in one strike. Fortunately, Jin was able to quickly jump back and managed to avoid the attack.
Unfortunately for Jin, after space was made between the two. Beast-Ragna managed to gather some energy and was able to fire a powerful energy blast at Jin. In a split second, Jin was able to use Yukianesa create a large and sturdy ice wall that was able to block the energy blast but was destroyed in the process. After the ice wall shattered, Jin took control of the ice debris with his semblance and due to the power that Jin is using. The ice that he's controlling started to glow white. After the ice glowed white, Jin launched them at Beast-Ragna in a blinding speed. From a quick glance, the launched ice has an appearance that's very similar to a barrage of lasers sent to destroy a single threat.
Beast-Ragna was able to endure the empowered barrage of ice-shards. But it was slowly but surely getting to him. After enduring the barrage for a few more seconds, Beast-Ragna released a powerful roar and was able destroy the ice-shards that Jin was able to control. After making the roar, Beast-Ragna made a powerful horizontal swipe causing him to release an energy wave. Jin was able to dodge the energy wave Beast-Ragna made and countered with his own ice wave. Once the attack got close, Beast-Ragna destroyed the attack with a single strike and released several more attack waves. Jin repeated his actions from earlier and released several ice waves of his own. As a result, both Jin's and Beast-Ragna's attacks clashed against each other and several small explosions soon followed. This went on for a few moments until both Jin and Beast-Ragna clashed against each other at an intense speed. When the two clashed, a powerful explosion of energy soon followed and the two were able to hold each other down.
"I can't believe those two are this strong." Coco said while watching the two fight each other
"Power such as this is unheard of. This very easily surpasses anything else I've seen before in my lifetime." Dr. Oobleck said while watching
"Ugh." Nora muttered after Celica was able to heal her. After being healed, Nora raised up and noticed that she was near Ren
"What happened?" Nora asked in a curious tone
"A lot has happened, but for now you need to rest." Ren said before he turned to Celica
"Thank you, I don't know what I would have done if . . . ." Ren said before he was in deep thought
"Don't worry about it, I have to go and help Dizzy heal the others." Celica said before she proceeded to heal the others along with Dizzy
"I have to go and help." Ruby said before she proceeded to get up and make her way to the arena where Jin and Beast-Ragna are fighting. Before she went though, Valkenhayn stretched out his arm to stop Ruby from going
"I apologize young miss, but I can't let you get closer. If you do so, you'll only serve to get in the way." Valkenhayn said to Ruby in a stern tone
"But I have to . . . ." Ruby said before Celica spoke up
"Ruby, you need to listen to Valkenhayn. He knows what he's talking about." Celica told Ruby causing her to think for a second. Before she said anything, Velvet spoke up
"Wait, your Valkenhayn, as in the Silver Wolf Valkenhayn who's one of the Six Heroes?" Velvet asked in a surprised tone while getting the attention of some of the people that are nearby.
"Yes I am milady, it's a pleasure to meet you despite these unfortunate circumstances." Valkehayne told Velvet causing some of the people to mutter
"Wha . . . what are you doing here and why is this happening?" Ruby asked in a curious tone
"I'm sorry miss, but I fear that there are more pressing matters that requires our attention." Valkenhayn told Ruby is a somber tone
"Valkehayne, what's happening to Ragna? Why does it feel like the same power as back then?" Celica asked in a concerned and worried tone
"I'm afraid to tell you that it is the same power as back then Lady Celica. I do not know the specific details but I do know that young Kisaragi's power is the only way to subdue him without killing him. It appears your sister kept much from you to protect you." Valkenhayn responded
"I see, please let nothing happen to either of my boys." Celica said before she left to heal more people.
(The Streets of Vale)
While a great deal of events is going on in the Amity Arena. Jubei is jumping from roof to roof of various buildings at an intense speed. The look on Jubei's face indicates a mix of both worry and panic. The speed of his movements indicates that he's in a rush to get somewhere. As Jubei was going to his intended destination, several more Grimm started to appear in the streets. More and more Grimm appeared every second and they were going in the same direction Jubei is going.
"Damn it Terumi, provoking Ragna's power like that and have him attack and kill people. I don't even know why I'm surprised, stuff like that is child's play after all." Jubei said as he was jumping from roof to roof. After a brief second, a Centinal Grimm had rose from the ground and tried to attack Jubei as he was jumping to another roof.
Reacting quickly, Jubei noticed the centipede like Grimm and was able to quickly spin slash the Grimm while being able to propel himself to the ground. Once he got to the ground, several Death-Stalker Grimm tried to attack Jubei with their giant stingers. Fortunately, Jubei was able to dodge the stingers and was able to make quick work of the nearby Death-Stalkers. After the Death-Stalkers were killed, three Nevermore Grimm landed on the roof of nearby buildings. While several more Grimm started to surround Jubei.
"Looks like things are going to take a bit longer than I thought." Jubei thought before he started to fight against the Grimm
(Amity Arena)
Everyone near the arena and in the audience has spent the last few moments seeing the fight unfold between two individuals. The Hero of Vale fighting against a being using a power that's unheard of. Many people who are observing this clash has a good deal of mixed feelings. Some are hopeful that the Hero of Vale has arrived to save them, using the same power that was used to save Vale during the Grimm Breach. Though a lot of other people are feeling fear. The kind of fear that matches those who's staring into the face of death itself. The power and savagery that Beast-Ragna has displayed, easily surpasses that of anything the Grimm has done. Making things worse is that several students and Huntsman have tried to subdue Beast-Ragna. Only to be on the receiving end of a brutal beatdown. Not to mention Beast-Ragna not only killed a lot of people in the audience. But he also mercilessly ripped Penny apart. Many people are afraid for their lives.
After both Jin and Beast-Ragna spent a good deal of time fighting against each other. The two powerful figures clashed once again and was pushed back by a large explosion that was caused by the both of them. After being pushed back, Jin created several ice-swords of various sizes and launched them at Beast-Ragna. Once the ice-swords got close to Beast-Ragna, several of the small to moderately sized swords were destroyed very quickly. The large ice-swords though were able to pierce Beast-Ragna.
Though after Beast-Ragna was pierced by the large ice-swords. He released a powerful roar and was able to destroy the large ice-swords that was able to pierce him earlier. While also healing the open wounds in the process. A quick second after the ice-swords were destroyed. Jin quickly appeared in front of Beasat-Ragna and was able to land a flurry of strong and fast slashes against Beast-Ragna. After delivering the final slash, Jin created several large ice pillars that were directed at Beast-Ragna. The ice pillars were able to not only push back Beast-Ragna, but also hurt him a great deal.
After Beast-Ragna was pushed back, he released a powerful roar that was felt by everyone who both heard and witnessed it. After making the roar, Beast-Ragna generated some energy and many dark spikes started to pop out of the arena and were going for Jin. The blonde swordsman tried to run to get away from the spikes. But quickly realized that the spikes were going to reach him soon. Before the spikes got too close, Jin had cut the ground with his sword and was able to create an ice pillar to launch himself to the air. In order to avoid the rapidly approaching spikes. Soon after Jin was launched into the air, Beast-Ragna grabbed a good portion of the ground and was able to the large debris at Jin. Once the debris got close, Jin managed to cut them down with relative ease. Unfortunately, after Jin had cut down another debris, Beast-Ragna was able to jump far into the air and was able to get close to Jin.
The second Beast-Ragna was close to Jin, he grabbed the blonde swordsman and was able to dive to the arena ground. Once Beast-Ragna reached the ground, he was able to slam Jin into the ground and repeatedly did so for a few seconds. After the final slam, Beast-Ragna threw Jin with a good deal of strength. Jin was able to regain his footing, but quickly noticed Beast-Ragna leaping towards him. Once Jin noticed Beast-Ragna, he took up a defensive stance. Once Beast-Ragna got close, he made a motion to attack Jin. Before the claw could reach Jin, it clashed with an ice barrier and Beast-Ragna's arm was frozen. After Beast-Ragna's arm was frozen, Jin proceeded to rapidly move back and forth while slashing and freezing Beast-Ragna in the process. This went on for a few more seconds until Jin made the final slash.
Once the final slash was made, the ice that Beast-Ragna was in shattered and it was able to hurt him greatly. Not wanting to give Beast-Ragna a chance to recover or counterattack, Jin decided to deal another attack that would deal a major blow against Beast-Ragna. He decided to put Yukianesa's handle into its sheath and hold it towards Beast-Ragna. Once he did so, Jin started to put his hands together and gather some energy. When he pulled his hand back, it was as if he was pulling the bow of an arrow and the energy started to take the form of an arrow. Before Beast-Ragna could do anything, Jin fired the rrow and landed a directed hit against Beast-Ragna. The attack was not only able to greatly injure Beast-Ragna, but it was also able to freeze him once again. After Beast-Ragna was frozen, Jin drew his sword and decided to fully sheath his sword causing the ice that Beast-Ragna was trapped in to fully break. Once the ice was broken, it created a powerful energy shockwave that was felt by everyone nearby.
After he was freed from the ice, Beast-Ragna proceeded to walk slowly towards Jin. But as he was going, the same energy that he was enveloped in started to get weaker. Before he went too close to Jin, the dark red and black energy started to dissipate and after a few seconds. The energy as gone completely and it was Ragna who returned back to normal. When Ragna tried to take another step, he collapsed to the ground. Not too long after Ragna collapsed after returning to normal. Jin collapsed as well, and he was no longer glowing white like earlier.
"He did it, Jin did it." Jaune said in an impressed tone
"To be able to fight Ragna like that. I can't believe that the both of them were this strong and we didn't even know it." Pyrrha said in a surprised and composed tone
"RAGNA, JIN!" Celica yelled in a worried tone for her sons and started to rush to the arena with Dizzy following her.
"Please bring Jin to here, I'll be able to heal them both easily if there close to me." Celica told Dizzy with her nodding in agreement
"WHY IS SHE HEALING THAT MONSTER?" One of the audience members yelled from the stands
"THAT MONSTER KILLED PEOPLE! THEY NEED TO MAKE SURE HE STAYS DEAD!" Another one of the audience yelled. Which was quickly followed by more people yelling for Ragna to be killed
"Ozpin, did you know about those two this entire time?" General Ironwood mentally asked after watching the entire thing. When the General looked around, he noticed that the entire event of Jin using his power to fight against Beast-Ragna has been recorded for the entire world to see. Before the General could question why the recording is still going on. The screen turned red and a symbol showed up on the screen. The symbol is that of the black queen chess piece. At the sight of the symbol, the General had a shocked look on his face and tried to turn off the broad cast himself. Only to realize that he couldn't do it and that the screen is shared to everyone in the world and the arena.
"This is proof, proof of arrogance, carelessness, pride, and stupidity. Many of you have given your trust, your lives, even your futures, in the hands of those who are careless with it. They claim to be our guardian yet are nothing more than people. Who foolishly believe that they are more than what they are." Cinder said via announcement over the screen before she continued on.
"The Headmasters of our Academies have more power than most armies. Yet one who controls both has the audacity to bring his army to an unsuspecting Kingdom as a show of his power. Yet they proved to be very ineffective when it came to stopping the Grimm Breach. If it wasn't for the Hero of Vale, who used his power properly. Then I'm afraid of how things would have turned out, no doubt for the worse. I mean, the General had the galls to bring a robot that was disguised as a little girl." Cinder said over the announcement before continuing
"But Ozpin isn't entirely blameless in this matter. After all, my sources tell me that he carelessly allowed a group of inexperienced children to partake in a mission that they were clearly not ready for. The end result is that they all failed to prevent the Grimm Breach in the first place." Cinder said causing Ruby to have a look on her face that is a mix of shock and fear.
"No, he can't be right." Ruby said maintaining her earlier expression while remembering Roman's words to her
"You and your band of misfits and two professionals were sent to stop me and you all failed. That fact will haunt the ten of you for years because you failed to stop the destruction. So technically speaking, this is also your fault as it is mine." Ruby remembered Roman saying during the Breach causing her to shed a tear. Before Ruby could comment Cinder continued
"I have no idea of who is right or wrong in this situation. But I do know that the peace we line in is fragile, and as someone who comes from Mistral. The situation is just as undesirable as it is here in Vale. But I must admit, I do at least understand where Ozpin's arrogance comes from and I thank Ragna the Bloodedge for that." Cinder said causing the entire audience to turn their shared attention to the arena.
"The power Ragna has displayed is unheard of. But the painful truth is that this power has been seen before. This power has been seen by many who remembers the days of the beast from a long time ago. Yet the truth is that this history is covered in many lies and deceit. One of the lies is the name of the Beast itself. I do not know why the Beast's name was changed in the history books. But the truth is that the Aura Beast's real name is the Black Beast. Unfortunately to make matters worse, the Black Beast has returned in the form of Ragna the Bloodedge. He is a herald of the return of the Black Beast. Because Ragna bears the power of the Black Beast and as long as he lives. The return of the Black Beast is inevitable, I doubt even the Hero of Vale could be able to prevent this. After all, does the Hero really have it in him to kill his own brother? When the first shots are fired and blood has been shed. Who can you bring yourself to trust in the chaos?" Cinder asked before the transmission was cut off
Once the transmission ended, everyone in the audience and arena started to erupt in a panic. Many people tried to run out of the arena in fear of their own safety. While several others started to yell for Ragna to be killed.
(Beacon Hallway)
"Tell me I didn't hear all of that." Yang told Blake and Weiss over the scroll
"We heard it, its just hard to believe. Ragna has the power of the Black Beast and everything we knew was a lie." Blake said over the call while Yang was on speaker
"Did Ragna know and if he did why didn't he tell us?" Weiss asked
"That doesn't matter, I have to get to the arena. Ruby is still there and I have to go help her." Yang said in a worried tone
"Ruby is our leader, she can take care of herself and she's not alone." Blake said to Yang reassuring her
"But did you see the destruction Ragna caused when he used that power. Everyone is in danger. I should never have let myself be caught in this slump, I should have been there." Yang said as she was running
"Calm down Yang, Jin was able to stop Ragna. I know I'm not Ragna's biggest friend, but I know that there's probably more to this than we know. Let's talk to Ragna and give him a chance to explain himself." Weiss said trying to calm Yang down
"Your right, I just need to . . ." Yang said before she heard the sound of yelling on Blake and Weiss's end.
"What's going on?" Yang asked in a concerned tone
"The Grimm are coming, I don't know how but they made it to the festival grounds." Blake told Yang ever the call
"What but how could . . . ." Yang said before she looked out the window and saw several airships bring the Grim to Beacon. When she looked further, the airships were being piloted by the White Fang
"The White Fang is here, and there bringing the Grimm to the school." Yang said over the call.
"What, but why would they . . ." Blake said before Yang found herself fighting against the various Grimm that made it to the building
"We'll have to talk later, be careful you two." Yang said before she hung up her scroll and fought against the Grimm
(The Festival Grounds)
"I can't believe this." Weiss said in a somber tone to Blake
"About what, the history about the Beast being a lie. Everything about Ragna. Penny being a robot. Or the Grimm coming?" Blake asked her teammate
"I don't know where to begin to be honest with you. Penny and all of those people died because of the power inside Ragna." Weiss said before Blake brought in the locker that contained her weapon
"Its as you said, we have to give Ragna the chance to explain himself. But for now, we do our jobs and protect the people." Blake said before she grabbed her sword and gun
"Right." Weiss said before she called down her weapon locker as well
(The Amity Arena)
After the announcement, it didn't take too long for the people to get into a panic and many of them decided to aggressively leave the arena. The ones that were in the arena were still there and are shocked at everything they heard. The Aura Beast's real name is the Black Beast and Ragna contains its power. Some of the students wants Ragna to regain consciousness soon so he can explain what happened. But others want to kill Ragna if everything the voice was saying over the video was true. Before any of them could do anything, a giant Nevermore attacked the arena and it has gotten everyone's attention. After seeing the Nevermore, Jaune, Makoto, and Sol went to Celica who are treating the brothers. As Celica was healing the two, Jin started to regain both his strength and consciousness
"I can't leave either of my boys like this." Celica said to Jaune in a panicked and worried tone
"Don't worry, we'll bring them to a safer place so you can heal them. But we have to move." Jaune told Celica while Sol grabbed Ragna. Before Makoto was able to grab Jin, he was able to barely get up.
"I can move, but I just need a minute. Thank you though Makoto." Jin said to Makoto. But after a brief moment, the giant Nevermore was able to break through the barrier and dived towards the small group. Before the giant Nevermore got close, Valkenhayn delivered a powerful roundhouse kick the Nevermore's face and destroyed it with ease.
"I will catch up to you all later, but first, I must make sure that you all are adequately covered while escaping." Valkenhayn said while prepared for more Grimm
"Thank you Valkenhayn." Celica said in a grateful tone before she left with the others
(The Arena Docks)
It didn't take too long for many of the students to get to the docking area of the Arena. When they arrived, they saw various citizens and students entering the airships that is leaving the arena. Once everything seemed safe for the moment, Sol had put down Ragna and Celica resumed healing him. Before too much time went by, one of the citizens recognized Ragna and started to yell.
"WHAT'S THAT THING DOING HERE!" One of the citizens yelled causing everyone to look at Ragna. As soon as the random man yelled that, a large crowd started to take form and they all shared an angry look on their faces
"Everyone, its imperative that you all calm down and board the . . . ." Professor Port tried to say before someone cut him off
"That monster already killed some of my friends. What's stopping him from killing us?" One of the female students said causing more people to share in the anger
"All of you, please listen to me. I don't know what's going on either, but there's no way that Ragna would do anything like this. There has to be something we're all missing." Jaune said trying to calm the people down. Though after he said that, Russel and Sky stepped forward from the crowd and they were armed with their weapons
"Move it Jauney boy, its clear that guy is a threat. So it would only be right if we do our duties and take care of a threat." Russel said before he started to approach Ragna while he was being healed by Celica. Before Russel got too close, Cardin stood in Russel's way. Which surprised many people that knew of Cardin and his team.
"Russel, guys, this has gone on for too long. We have bigger things to worry about." Cardin said after he stopped his teammate
"I can't believe you Cardin, you heard what that voice said. As long as Ragna is around then the Beast from a long time ago will return. You saw how he killed people, we've gotta do what it takes to protect them. Heck you of all people should be ready to put a permanent end to him." Russel said causing the crowds to cheer in agreement with Russel's statement
"Its no secret that I have problems with Ragna. But now that I think about it, Ragna would never hurt people like that if it was up to him. Let the guy get healed so he can at least explain himself. Besides, your willing to hurt a woman who's just trying to heal someone who can't even defend himself." Cardin briefly explained to his teammate
"Look Cardin, we can just move the woman away and deal with Ragna easily. Letting her heal him is a mistake that a lot of us will just end up regretting." Russel argued to Cardin
"We've made mistakes ourselves, the way we treat the Faunus and how you guys left me for dead at the Verivert Swamp. But attacking a helpless woman who's just trying to help isn't a mistake. It crosses a line that we'll end up regretting." Cardin told Russel
"You know what, me and everyone here agrees that Ragna needs to be put down." Come on everyone, lets get the . . . ." Russel said before Sol started to approach him. Once Sol got close, Russel and the rest of the crowd started to move back but were still on guard
"You can try to get to these two if you want. But I know for certain that none of will get close. Me and my trusty sword will make sure of that." Sol said to the angry crowd
"COME ON, WE CAN TAKE THEM!" One of the angry members of the crowd said before they started to approach them. Before they got too close, General Ironwood fired his gun into the air. When he did so, everyone looked at him.
"Enough! All of you need to board the airships and leave. Or would you all rather stay here and die pointlessly?" General Ironwood said causing the crowd to disperse and get to the airships. After they did so, Cardin decided to go off to his team with Jaune stopping him for a few moments.
"Cardin, will you be OK with your team?" Jaune asked in a concerned tone
"Yeah, they just need a good knock on their heads to start thinking straight. Heat of the moment mixed with fear you know." Cardin said before he left, Before going too far, Jaune spoke out to him one last time.
"Thanks for sticking up for Ragna." Jaune said to Cardin before he left to catch up to his team. After Cardin left, Jaune was able to catch up to the group.
"What's going on General?" Jin asked once he was able to fully move on his own.
"The Grimm are invading the city, the White Fang has taken over Beacon. To make things worse, someone has seized one of my ships. Until we regain command the skies are out of our control. So I'm going to go and take it back." General Ironwood answered Jin
"What about Ragna?" Scarlet asked the General
"Normally I would bring Ragna to a ship since he's a clear and present threat to himself and others. To be frank, if what that voice said about him having the power of the Beast is true. Then this is something that will require my full attention. However, given the circumstances, I believe that it will be best if he's with you all. Since I have no doubt that Jin should be able to subdue him." General Ironwood explained to everyone
"Then what do we do?" Jaune asked the General
"All of you have two choices, you can stay and defend your Kingdom and school. Or you can go and save yourselves. If you stay and fight, then there is a very certain chance that you can die. But if you save yourselves, you can be with your loved ones. Personally speaking, nobody would fault you for leaving. If anything I would understand and not look down on your decision. If anyone does so, then that means they don't anything." General Ironwood said before he boarded the airship.
"MOVE OUT!" the General yelled before the ship he was on took off.
"Are all of you alright?" Jaune asked his friends after General Ironwood left
"We're fine, but some of them aren't exactly . . ." Pyrrha said before her and Jaune looked at their friends who some have a dejected look.
"Can you really blame them. If that voice is telling the truth, then Ragna is a living crisis. Our history is a lie and we're in the middle of something that's bigger than we thought. All of us barely survived and some of them aren't exactly sharing in the optimism some of you guys have." Kagura told Jaune
"Yeah, and its hard to tell how Ruby feels about all of this." Makoto said in a concerned tone causing the small group to look at Ruby.
When they all looked at Ruby, the bright and optimistic girl they knew has a shocked look on her face. Given everything that happened very recently, its easy to understand why. Her friend contains a power that was close to destroying the world. While also killing another one of her friends in a merciless way. Making things worse is that the world was lied to. Which is already raises the question of what other lies has been told to the world.
"Isn't our choice obvious?" Sun said to the group
"We can take a ship to Beacon, we don't have to worry about the Grimm or angry mobs." Coco said with everyone agreeing
"Its clear you have all made your choice to defend your Kingdom." Valkenhayn said after appearing getting everyone's attention
"What will you be doing?" Sun asked the Silver Wolf
"There is something that I must immediately attend to. The affair is quite urgent and requires my full attention." Valkenhayn answered
"Don't tell me your running away." Nora said to Valkenhayn after she recovered
"Don't misunderstand milady, me and my master have a good idea of the full situation. Therefore I must return to my duties and continue fighting those responsible." Valkehayn told Nora. Before he went too far. Jin stepped up wanting to speak to the elderly gentleman
"Can you take me back to Beacon?" Jin asked Valkenhayn
"The method of transfer is very much limited. But I'm certain that I can manage to bring you back to Beacon Mr. Kisaragi." Valkenhayn said causing Saya to stand in front of Jin with the intent to block his path
"Jin, I can't let you go, you can get killed and I can't bare to lose either you or Ragna. I know for certain that you aren't fully healed. At least give Sister Celica some more time to make sure your fully recovered." Saya said to Jin in a pleading tone.
"I agree with her Jin. Just give me some more time your aura or your injuries hasn't been fully recovered yet. Please Jin, I don't want to even think about what would happen if I lose you." Celica pleaded to Jin
"I can still fight, therefore it's my duty to protect those in need." Jin said before he walked past Saya and got closer to Valkehayn. Before he went too far, Jin turned to look at Jaune
"Jaune, please look after Sister Celica and Saya as best as you can. When my idiot brother wakes up, I doubt he'll want to sit idly by and do nothing." Jin told Jaune before he looked at Celica and Saya
"If this is the last time that we'll see each other. I'll never forget either of you." Jin said before he went with Valkenhayn and the two teleported away from the area
"Come on guys, lets get to a ship before we lose it." Jaune said before him and everyone else ran off to get to a ship. Before all of them went to look for an airship, Ruby noticed an airship being destroyed and saw it crash. Seeing this had given Ruby an idea, which was able to get her out of her daze. Once Ruby has her idea, she grabbed her weapon and went back to the arena.
"Ruby, where are you going?" Sun asked in a concerned tone
"There's something I have to do. All of you go on without me, we'll see each other later." Ruby answered in a determined tone before she went to the arena
(The airship)
It didn't take the students long to get settled on the airship. Fortunately, it wouldn't be too long before all of them made it to Beacon. The bad news, is that there is a good deal of tension in the air and the reason is Ragna. After boarding the ship, Celica decided to focus on healing Ragna while she was given the chance. Though the majority of the passengers are keeping a considerable distance away from him. Given the circumstances its entirely understandable. Knowing what Ragna is capable of and the danger they are all in. Once it was clear that the ship they were on is on their way to Beacon. Silence filled the air as if to match the high tension.
"So . . . . are any of us going to talk about it." Nora said getting everyone's attention
"What do you mean Nora?" Jaune asked in a curious tone
"You know, about what we heard about the Aura Beast. Also about Ragna having that power and what he did." Nora answered
"We have no way of knowing if what that person said is true. For all we know, they could be trying to turn us against Ragna." Velvet said voicing her thoughts on the situation
"Besides, we don't even know who to ask to clarify these things." Sun said voicing his opinion
"We do know one person and she's here with us." Ren said causing everyone to look at Celica who's currently healing Ragna
"What do you mean Ren?" Pyrrha asked in a curious tone
"I noticed Sister Celica talking to Valkenhayn as if she knew him. Not a lot of people can just say they coincidently know one of the Six Heroes. The way they spoke to each other, it's as if they have a basic idea of what went on with Ragna." Ren said with a focused look
"So your suggesting that we question her?" Yatsuhashi asked in a nervous tone
"Guys are you even listening to yourselves right now. The way all of you are talking is no different than the mob from earlier." Sun told everyone
"That's right, this isn't the time for an interrogation. Especially with everything going on." Bang said with some of the students agreeing with him
"I know how you feel, but all of us almost died when we fought him. If it wasn't for Jin and his power. Things would've turned out much worse for us." Coco said with the students agreeing with her
"Everyone, I'm sure that we can talk about this after things calmed down. We have bigger things to worry about and an interrogation isn't one of them." Noel said to Coco
"But we can't ignore this forever, we have to learn the truth sooner or later and this is the best chance we've got." Leo Whitefang said in a calm tone
"Everyone we can still . . . ." Jaune said before Celica spoke up
"Its fine everyone, I know that your all afraid and that all of you almost died. Its only fair that answer your questions as best as I can." Celica said getting everyone's attention. When they turned to look at Ragna, they saw Saya staying near him. While guarded by the silver doll Minerva.
"How is he?" Jaune asked in a concerned tone
"I healed him as best as I could. Right now he just needs to get some rest. But given everything that's going on right now. I don't know how much rest he'll be able to get. But until we land, I can answer your questions." Celica answered Jaune
"How much do you know about what's going on?" Coco asked
"I truly don't know anything about the Grimm Invasion or the ones who are behind what's going on." Celica answered truthfully to Coco
"How do you know one of the Six Heroes and how much of what that voice said is true?" Velvet asked Celica
"Me and my sister met Valkenhayn a long time ago. During the time when the Beast still caused problems for the world. As for what that the voice said about the Aura Beast's real name being the Black Beast. That part I know for certain is true." Celica answered Velvet shocking everyone
"You mean, the entire world was lied to for almost seventy years." Nora said in a shocked tone
"Why would the name be changed, or better yet why didn't anyone say anything?" Neptune asked saying what everyone else is thinking
"I don't know why the name was changed in the official documents. But both my sister and brother-in-law made it clear that I was not to interfere and declare the truth. They know I don't like violence, so it was an easy request to follow." Celica answered Kagura
"You mentioned your sister earlier, now you brought up your brother-in-law. Do they have anything to do with this?" Makoto asked getting curious
"The both of them spent ten years fighting the Black Beast. My sister's name is Nine, my brother-in-law's name is Jubei. It is exactly the people your thinking of. Before any of you ask, neither of my kids know and I would like to keep it that way. Being related to the Six Heroes will likely bring unwanted attention." Celica said getting a shocked expression from everyone on the ship
"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT!" Most of the students yelled with some of them muttering to themselves
"Ruby would kill to be learning all of this. If it wasn't for everything that's going on right now." Jaune thought to himself before everyone calmed down
"Then let's get another big question. How is it that Ragna has the power of the Black Beast?" Kagura asked
"I don't know, my sister would know a lot more about stuff like that. But she died not too long after the Black Beast fell. Like everyone else in the world, I thought the Black Beast died as well. How Ragna was able to gain its power I honestly do not know." Celica told everyone
"We know a few things at least, but its not a lot in the grand scheme of things." Makoto said with everyone nodding. While some of them are still showing a considerable fear to Ragna. After a few seconds everyone heard Ragna groan and it was not too long before he sat up.
Urgh." Ragna moaned as he was getting up
"Ragna!" Noel yelled causing everyone to see that he's getting up. Some were glad that he's still alive. While everyone else are afraid of him. When Ragna looked around, he saw fear in the eyes of the many students that he knew. After thinking for a second, Ragna figured out what happened.
"How many?" Ragna asked causing some people to share an uncomfortable look
"Ragna, I don't think it was your fault and . . ." Jaune said before Ragna stopped him from speaking with a glare
"Don't sugar coat it Jaune. I had no control over my body or power. But the look of fear in everyone's eyes makes the implication clear enough. So tell me, how many people died because of me?" Ragna said causing everyone to have a nervous look
"Hard to say Ragna, everyone was running for their lives so keeping a body count wasn't a priority. But if I had to guess, I'd say the count is high enough. The fact that almost everyone in the audience wanted you dead earlier gives a good idea to how many people died." Sol told Ragna giving him the brutal honesty he asked for
"Damn." Ragna said sounding slightly depressed. Before he continued to maintain his depressed mood. Sol walked up to Ragna and gave him a strong smack to get him out of his funk.
"WHAT THE HELL!" Ragna yelled surprised at what Sol did
"Good, you still have that spark I knew you had. Look Ragna, you can do one of two things right now. You can be a little depressing wimp and feel sorry for yourself over what happened. Or you can get your $#!T together and get back in the fight. When I first met you, I never pegged you to be a coward. So are you going to fight back and get the bastards that made you go berserk like that? Or run away leading your own pity party?" Sol asked Ragna in a bold tone causing him to stand face to face with Sol
"Don't get the wrong idea, I never run from a fight. Even if it means facing an endless hoard of Grimm." Ragna told Sol causing the brown-haired swordsman to have a smirk of satisfaction
"Good, I'd feel bad if we had our rematch and you held back because of self-pity. But one thing is clear, the world knows that you have that power. If having power is good for anything, its making sure you have a big target on your back. So you need to know who you can trust to have your back." Sol told Ragna in a tone with deep experience behind it.
"Your right." Ragna said before he had a quick thought about something
"Jaune, since your one of the few people that aren't afraid to look at me. Would you mind telling me what happened." Ragna said before Jaune explained everything that happened with Beast-Ragna
(Moments Later)
After Jaune explained everything that happened regarding Beast-Ragna. The ship was filled with a tense silence once again. Ragna figured that everyone would be afraid of him because of the power he displayed and that he killed a lot of people. But what he didn't expect, was that the panic from everyone would be enough to cause the Grimm to get into the Kingdom. Also that part of the history regarding the Aura Beast was a lie. To make things worse, if the voice on the screen was telling the truth. Then due to the realization, then Ragna should expect that many people in the world wants him dead.
"Ragna, are you OK?" Jaune asked Ragna while the red clad student took everything in silence. Before Jaune could ask further, Ragna punched the nearby wall shocking everyone.
"DAMN IT!" Ragna yelled after punching the wall
"I know your mad but . . . ." Jaune said before Ragna quickly cut him off
"MAD DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO COVER IT JAUNE! Everyone wants me dead and I happen to have something inside me that almost destroyed the world a long time ago. To make things worse, I can't even blame them. There's blood on my hands and someone orchestrated everything. Not to mention that the history we know is nothing but a lie." Ragna told Jaune while thinking about what to question Jubei with. Before he could think further, He remembered something urgent and decided to speak up.
"Is there a way for me to get to Beacon sooner?" Ragna said in a demanding tone before he noticed Minerva
"Sister Celica, I know that Minerva can fly at high speed. Do you think she can bring me to Beacon faster than this ship?" Ragna asked Celica causing her to have a concerned look on her face that's shared with Saya
"I don't want to answer that question Ragna. Like with Jin, I know that you haven't fully recovered. But just like him, you've made up your mind to keep fighting, haven't you?" Celica asked in a worried tone
"You know the answer to that Sister Ceilica." Ragna said in a bold tone
"Minerva can take you to Beacon much faster than this ship can Ragna. But remember, I healed your body but your aura still hasn't fully recovered. Now that the world knows of your power, people will be afraid of you. Please be careful out there Ragna." Celica warned Ragna in a worried tone
"Don't worry Sister Celica, I'll be careful." Ragna said before he opened up the hatch
"Listen Ragna, Jin hasn't fully recovered either. I have no doubt that you'll might come across him when you get to Beacon. Please look after your brother Ragna. I can't stand to lose either you or Jin. The both of you along with Saya are my children, despite us having different blood." Celica said to Ragna causing him to look back at her
"He can handle himself, but I'll do what I can." Ragna said before Minerva went into flight mode. Once she did so, Ragna grabbed one of her wings. Before he left with Minerva, Ragna turned to look at everyone in the ship
"Even if the world wants me dead, I'll still do what I need to do." Ragna said before him and Minerva took off at a high-speed heading towards Beacon
(The streets of Vale)
Both Qrow and Glynda Goodwitch have spent a good deal of time fighting against the hoards of Grimm that were careless enough to cross their paths. For the Grimm that got close to Qrow, he was able to make quick work of them with his weapon Harbinger. As for Glynda, with both her riding crop and semblance. She was able to quickly dispatch the Grimm before they made it too far. After the both of them dealt with the nearby Grimm. They decided to take a quick breath to reflect on the situation.
"We need a plan of attack, I doubt we can keep this up forever." Qrow said to Professor Goodwitch
"Its hard to come up with a plan with everything going on. First the White Fang are bringing the Grimm to the school. The streets are filled with the Grimm at every corner. To make matters worse, everything we thought we knew about the Aura Beast is now put into question. I should I correct myself and say the Black Beast." Professor Goodwitch said before she smacked away an incoming Grimm
"When I first saw Ragna use his power, I thought there was something strange about it. But I couldn't even imagine that he would possess the power of the Beast itself. Just how much is going on that we don't even know about?" Professor Goodwitch asked in a frustrated tone
"I know how you feel, but until we can this mess straightened out. We'll have to wait a bit before we can start trying to figure out what's going on and start ironing out the details." Qrow said before he fired his weapon at an oncoming Grimm. After a few seconds, the nearby Atlus mech soldiers started to change their color highlight to red and point their guns at both Qrow and Glynda
"You have got to be kidding me." Qrow said before both him and Professor Goodwitch took up a stance ready for a fight. Before either of them could do anything, the mechanical Atlus soldiers were destroyed by several swords that pierced their torsos. When the two looked to see who destroyed them. It was a little girl with an eyepatch. When she came into view, both Qrow and Professor Goodwitch saw that it was Nu.
"That girl was with that team. But the General told me that all of them disappeared." Professor Goodwitch said to Qrow.
"Look like we were all lied to regarding that little fact. I doubt she's here to fulfill her duties as a Huntress. From past experience, I when someone has a lot of murderous intent. The kids filled with so much of it, I'm surprised that we aren't dealing with more Grimm." Qrow said while on guard
"Ha ha ha ha ha, Ragna is coming and this is my chance to be with him. It will be some time before we're reunited. So the both of you will make for a good warm-up until then." Nu said with a sinister smile to both Qrow and Professor Goodwitch
"RESTRICTION RELEASE!" Nu yelled causing her to release a powerful surge of energy in front of both Qrow and Professor Goodwitch. After the power surge ended, Nu was covered in a blue and silver metallic armor with a visor.
"This girl, does she have the same power that Ragna has?" Professor Goodwitch asked while on guard but surprised at the power her and Qrow are seeing.
"Don't know, but it looks like that this is going to be the toughest fight we've had in years." Qrow said to the Professor before the both of them started to fight against Nu
(A/N)
For one of the big reveals in this chapter, the Aura Beast's real name is the Black Beast. This is a chance for me to introduce a situation in the story that will make the characters question everything that they knew. For instance, if the name of the Beast that almost destroyed the world was a lie. Then how much of the world is true or a major lie. This was something that was hinted at. Since when the Six heroes address each other. They never refer to the Black Beast as the Aura Beast. Since they know its full name.
(I even went back to previous chapters to edit this fact to better reflect this. I couldn't hint at this in the author's notes either. If there is some that I missed, please let me know)
Only a small number of characters aside from the Six Heroes, knows the Beast's real name. Some of the characters that knows is Rachel and Celica. But as it was explained in this chapter. Celica was asked not to reveal the truth, since doing so would paint a big target on her back. Knowing that a crucial part of history was a lie will no doubt make the characters question everything and it can shake their resolve. Especially since they know that as long as Ragna is alive. The Black Beast can still come back and destroy the world. Many characters in this story are going to be tested in terms of skills and resolve.
As for the reason to why the history books gave it a fake name will be revealed really soon. But I will confirm this, the name Grimm Aura is still going to keep its name for story purposes. But the full details are a MAJOR SPOILER, so I can't reveal it this soon.
The Fall of Beacon Arc in this story is going to have Several major reveals and moments. The real name of the Beast and the revelation that Ragna and Nu has the power of the Black Beast is going to be one of those major reveals. I have SEVERAL more reveals and moments coming up in future chapters of this arc and I'm looking forward to the responses.
So far with the concept, Adam will make a more proper debut that's not a cameo. A fair heads up about him in this story. I'm going to be handling Adam VERY DEFFERENTLY than canon did with him. I have a lot of reasons for why I'm handling Adam different. But I'm not going to put them in the author's note for now.
One more thing, I know it was stated in this chapter but I will make it clear. The world is now fully cautious because of the reveal that Ragna has the power of the Black Beast. The world either wants him dead or want to use him for his power. I wonder where certain characters fall into. Such as Raven or the other Headmasters? Only a handful of characters such as aune, Bang, Pyrrha, Sol, Noel, and Makoto aren't afraid of him. Because they know that it wasn't Ragna's fault. But everyone else is understandably afraid of him, since he displayed a lot of power and ended up killing a lot of people. While most of the students and the Professors that fought him almost died. Making things worse, is that nobody knows the full story of how and why Ragna went beserk like that.
As of now, its going to be important for Ragna to start learning who he can trust. Because the traits of him being a loner he displayed in the games is not going to help him much in the future. Especially with the plans I have for the future volumes.
