(A/N) Thank you everyone for how I handled the proper debut of both Adam and Terumi. But don't think that the characters can rest just yet. Because there are still a few surprises waiting for them in the upcoming chapters.
Chapter 53 Anger PT 3
(Building Rooftop)
After making the broadcast to the world, everything fell into place as Cinder had hoped. When Terumi told her of the plan to turn the entire world against Ragna. She was admittedly skeptical at first. But after doing her part, she was amazed at the results and then some. Even though Cinder was impressed about the end results, there were only two things from the plans that surprised her. First is the fact that the Aura Beast's real name is the Black Beast. The second detail that surprised Cinder is that Ragna contains half the power of the Black Beast.
Cinder has always believed that she was destined for great power and for her to learn that Ragna has half the power that almost destroyed the world has surprised her. Cinder has tried asking Terumi how was it that Ragna was able to gain such a power. But Terumi's vague answers has both intrigued and annoyed Cinder even further. Though this did not bother Cinder one bit. Because she knows that once she gains the power that she seeks. Then no one will be able to pose a threat to her.
"Are you getting all of this Mercury?" Cinder asked in a amused tone
"Every detail, I've even got footage of those Atlus soldiers attacking the students." Mercury said in a smug tone to Cinder
"All of this destruction, its all so sad." Emerald said in a somber tone while looking at everything that's going on
While the three of them were looking over everything that's going on. Cinder noticed a large group of students arriving at the entrance of Beacon and started to attack both the Grimm and the Atlus soldiers. Some of the students chose to go to a different area of the school to cover more ground. While a good number of them held their ground at where they are. As Cinder was watching the students fight valiantly for their school and Kingdom. She was able to notice Ozpin call Pyrrha back to the school.
"It's time for me to go and get my prize." Cinder said as she was making a motion to leave
"What do you need us to do?" Emerald asked Cinder
"Mercury, continue the broadcast of the Atlus soldiers until the end. Emerald, I want you to cover him. As long as you do those tasks, you're welcomed to do as you please." Cinder said before she left
(The entrance of Beacon)
Thanks to Jubei, the students were able to barely survive an encounter with Terumi. When they arrived at their destination, they wasted no time in dealing with the threat that's before them. Some of the students left to protect other areas of Beacon. While a good number of them chose to stay and defend the entrance. Since it is where the majority of the Grimm and Atlus soldiers tend to go to. As everything is going on, Jaune noticed Professor Ozpin stand at the entrance. As if she knew the reason, Pyrrha went ahead to Ozpin.
"Where is she going?" Nora asked Jaune
"I don't know, I'll follow and see what's going on." Jaune said before he made a motion to follow Pyrrha and Ozpin. Though before Jaune got close, a large debris fell in front of the entrance. Preventing Jaune from entering the school.
"Are you all right Jaune?" Ren asked in a curious tone
"I'm fine, I'm just glad that I wasn't crushed. I'll find another way into the school." Jaune told Ren
"With all these Grimm running around and the Atlus soldiers trying to kill us. You can't go by yourself." Nora stated to Jaune
"He won't have to, I'll go with him and make sure he's fine." Noel said overhearing the conversation
"Noel, we can't let you risk your life for something like this." Ren said before Noel fired her gun at a nearby Ursa Grimm and managed to kill it
"Our lives are already at risk because of the Grimm breaking into the school. Besides even though Pyrrha is your teammate, she is also my friend and I want to help to. So let me watch Jaune's back, not as his girlfriend. But as another person who's fighting too." Noel told Ren and Nora with them nodding in agreement
"Noel, make sure you both came back with Pyrrha. We won't lose anymore people." Nora said with Noel agreeing before she ran off with Jaune.
After the two left, Ren and Nora continued to fight against the Grimm. A Beowolf Grimm leaped towards Ren while his back was turned. Nora was able to notice this and fired her grenade launcher at the Grimm and managed to save Ren. Meanwhile, Neon continued to skate around the area while being chased by the Grimm.
Once Neon noticed that a small group of Grimm is now following her. She led the group of Grimm to Flynt and he used his semblance to split into a group of four and hit them with a sound blast from his trumpet.
Kagura spent the last few minutes cutting down Grimm with his large sword. As Kagura was cutting down the Grimm. He noticed a Beowolf Grimm getting closer to him. Before the beast got too close, Bang pierced the Beowolf with his giant nail saving Kagura in the process. When the two looked around, they noticed a small group of Grimm that was coming towards them. It was a mix of Ursa, Beowolves, and Boarbatusks Grimm. When the two saw the group of Grimm. They looked at each other and shared a nod with each other.
After sharing the nod, Bang made a quick jump into the air while Kagura positioned his sword. After Kagura's large sword was positioned under Bang, he made a strong upward swing and launched Bang into the air above the Grimm. Once Bang was above the Grimm, he threw several smoke bombs on the ground that is center to where the Grimm is. The second the smoke bomb landed, it exploded and the Grimm were enveloped in a smokescreen unable to see anything.
As the Grimm were enveloped in a smokescreen, Bang quickly ran to each of them and delivered a strong uppercut that launched the Grimm high into the air one by one. Once all of the Grimm were in the air. Kagura threw several razor winds at the Grimm's weak spots and they were greatly injured. This went on for a few more seconds, because the razor winds would bounce ricochet off the armor and rebound to the Grimm. Before the razor wind disappeared, the Grimm landed and a good number of them dissipated. The remaining Grimm that were still standing, were quickly taken care of by Bang and his close quarters attacks.
Once the group of Grimm were dealt with. A large Atlus mech appeared and started to approach the group of students. Before it got too close, a glyph appeared above the mech and it has gotten everyone's attention. Before the Atlus mech could react to the glyph, Yang was suddenly launched through the glyph and was able to bring down the mech with a single punch. Once the Atlus mech was down, everyone gathered to Yang happy to see her.
"Yang, its so great to see you." Nora said happily before turning to see Weiss approach them
"I'm happy to se you all too, but lets save the chitchat for when we don't have a bunch of Grimm and Atlus mechs and soldiers trying to kill us." Yang said before she quickly punched several Grimm that tried to ambush her. After the Grimm were dealt with, several Atlus soldiers had pointed their rifles at her. Before the could fire, Weiss slashed through them all with her sword and dealt with them. Unknown to any of the students, a masked individual was watching all of them.
"Ignis, the target is now on the move. We must depart if we are to accomplish our task in a timely. Which has now been made much easier with Terumi distracting Jubei." Relius said before he left with his large crimson doll
(Beacon grounds)
For the past few minutes, Jubei and Terumi have been fighting furiously against each other. There is no moment that either of the two fighters has wasted a movement trying to kill each other. Though at first glance, it can be seen as two exceptionally powerful people fighting each other to the death. Though when one takes a deeper look, there is a lot of history that's shared between the two. Both Jubei and Terumi have been focused on each other. Not allowing the other a chance at victory.
A good deal of Terumi's attacks has been very aggressive against Jubei. While Jubei has been either evading and parrying Terumi's attacks. After a brief moment, Jubei used his semblance to launch himself to the top of a nearby wall to avoid another one of Terumi's attacks. After Jubei avoided the attack, Terumi ran up the wall and started to furiously attack Jubei. The Cat Lotus held his ground and before the both of them realized it, they fell to the ground. Once they fell to the ground, the both of them resumed their fight with each attack being either parried or blocked.
After a few seconds, the both of them clashed blades against each other once again and ended up running down the street while their weapon are locked to each other. As the two were running, they managed to push themselves back and made space between the two while running down the street. As they were running, the Grimm tried to attack the both of them but they made quick work of them.
As they were running, Terumi launched his chain at Jubei while maintaining the distance between the two. Jubei was able to deflect Terumi's chain attacks while facing Terumi. After deflecting another chain attack, Jubei managed to quickly jump on the chain and proceeded to run on the chain towards Terumi. Once Jubei got close to Terumi, he tried to attack the green-haired killer while he was close. Reacting quickly, Terumi wielded his butterfly knife and managed to parry Jubei's sword attacks.
After the sword attacks were parried by Terumi. He tried to kick Jubei since he was so close. Jubei countered with a kick of his own and was pushed back as a result. After being pushed back, Terumi launched several of his chains at Jubei while he had the chance. Fortunately, Jubei managed to roll around the ground to avoid the chain attacks and managed to recover quickly to resume his fight.
"Your still as strong as ever you wretched cat. I guess your title as the World's Strongest has been properly earned. Though if you were the World's Smartest, your wife would still be alive. By the way, how is your daughter Kokonoe doing? It must bother you a lot knowing that you have to keep your distance from her. Knowing what being related to you would do to her. Though if it makes you feel better, I don't give a damn about what she does. Though I might pay her a visit if it means pissing you off." Terumi said gleefully before Jubei started to aggressively attack him
"YOU DON'T EVER MENTION MY DAUGHTER'S NAME YOU BASTARD!" Jubei yelled while furiously attacking Terumi. Only for him to radiate energy and push back Jubei.
After Jubei was pushed back, he was on the defensive from Terumi's attacks. This time though, Terumi was steadily gaining ground and pushing back Jubei. As Terumi was continued his assault. Jubei looked around to see if there was an area that would give him the advantage. Realizing that he couldn't go anywhere, Jubei maintained his ground and continued being on the defensive. After waiting for a few seconds, Jubei managed to kick Terumi away and made space between the two.
"Damn, the mention of my daughter gave him the edge he needed. I have to keep my negativity suppressed at all times when it comes to this bastard." Jubei thought before he resumed his guard. Before Terumi could do anything further, he deflected several gunshots that was aimed at him while Jubei did the same. When they looked to see who fired at them, they saw General Ironwood who looked injured due to his metallic body showing. When they looked further, he was accompanied by Glynda and Qrow.
"That was a warning shot, now what is going on here." General Ironwood said to the two causing Terumi to smirk
"General I'm not the enemy but Terumi is! Suppress your negativity as much as possible or else you'll make him stronger!" Jubei yelled causing Terumi to attack him before the attack is deflected.
"Terumi, the same Yuuki Terumi that's one of the six heroes?" Glynda asked before she pointed her crop at him
"We can ask questions later, but right now we need to settle this situation first." Qrow said as he was wielding his weapon
"Fighting the cat is already pushing me to my limits. But if I have to fight three more people who has experience under their belts. Then I might have a problem in the long run. Oh well, he needed you away for a while and I'd say he got all the time he needed." Terumi said before he ran off into a hoard of Grimm that was fighting several people
"Damn." Jubei muttered before he made a move to pursuit him. Before he went far, General Ironwood pointed his gun at Jubei.
"I don't know who you are, so I would like some answers." General Ironwood said to Jubei
"Fair enough, know that I'm associated with Ozpin. I'm not an enemy but there's a good reason he didn't tell any of you about me. My name is Jubei and I have a good idea of what's going on. More specifically, what Salem wants and she's no ally of mine." Jubei quickly explained causing the General to put his gun down.
"I'm sorry for the shots I fired earlier. I didn't know which side either of you were on and I couldn't be too certain." General Ironwood said apologizing for earlier
"Its fine, when faced with an unknown threat, its better to take control of the situation than to apologize for not doing anything. Besides, when it comes to Terumi you don't take any chances." Jubei said before several more Grimm started to show up.
"Are you still able to fight Jubei?" Qrow asked while facing the oncoming hoard
"Yep, I may be old, but I'm not too senile that prevents me from fighting." Jubei confidently responded to Qrow
"We don't need to kill all of them, just enough so I can get to my ship and disable the mechs." General Ironwood said before they engaged the Grimm
(The Vault)
After Pyrrha reunited with Ozpin, the two silently knew where it was that they needed to go. It didn't take them too long to get to the vault, but once they did. They knew that they had to hurry, because time was something that they no longer had. Once they made it, they hurried to their destination at great haste. Once they made it to the capsules, they knew that the next moments were crucial.
"Pyrrha, once you enter the pod. Everything will be different from this point on. Are you certain your ready for this?" Professor Ozpin asked with a great deal of concern in his voice
"I'm ready Professor." Pyrrha responded with no hesitation in her voice
"Good Ms. Nykos, now enter the pod. Once you do so, I'll begin the preparations for the entire process." Professor Ozpin said before Pyrrha entered the pod. After she did so, the Headmaster looked back to make sure there was no one else around
"Are you ready Ms. Nykos?" Professor Ozpin asked Pyrrha while she was inside the pod only for her to nod in silence
"Please Pyrrha, I need you to say it. I need to hear it from your own mouth using your own words. So that neither of us will have any lingering doubts." Professor Ozpin said while looking at her
"Yes, I'm ready for this Professor." Pyrrha said with no hesitation or regret in her voice
"Thank you, and I'm very sorry for this." Professor Ozpin said before he started the machine.
Once the Headmaster activated the machine, he saw that both Amber and Pyrrha were in immense pain. Ozpin knew that the process would be painful, but the necessity of it was crucial for the sake of the world. It was at this moment that he was glad to have lied to Ragna and Jin about the true purpose of this machine. Because if either of them knew what his true plan were. Then there is no doubt that either of them would have kept quiet about it. Though before Ozpin could think further, an arrow penetrated the pod and pierced Amber's heart. When the Headmaster looked to see where the arrow came from. He saw a slender young woman wielding a bow and it appeared that she fired the arrow that killed Amber.
It was clear that Cinder was the one that fired the arrow that killed Amber. Seconds later, the power of the Fall Maiden left both the machine and Amber's body and it reached Cinder and she started to radiate a great deal of power. When the Headmaster saw this, he was filled with a sense of dread and realized that not only Cinder was the one who initially attacked Amber and claimed half of her power. But she now has killed her and claimed the other half. Becoming the Fall Maiden and giving an old enemy a powerful asset. After Cinder claimed the full power of the Fall Maiden. Pyrrha used her semblance to break out of the pod and tried to attack Cinder. Only for Ozpin to stop her from going forward.
"Get out of here Pyrrha. Find either Glynda, Qrow, or Ironwood and bring them here. The tower cannot fall under any circumstances." Professor Ozpin told Pyrrha in a worried tone while facing the new Fall Maiden
"I can still help." Pyrrha told the Headmaster
"You'll only get in the way. What you can do right now is get help. So that there won't be anymore casualties on this day." Professor Ozpin told Pyrrha causing the noble girl to escape. Cinder noticed Pyrrha leaving but she did not care. She had gotten the prize she had sought and is now powerful.
"Under this school, all this time. She was right about you, about your arrogance and your secrets." Cinder said causing the Headmaster to wield his cane. Ready to fight the deadly threat.
(Beacon Side Area)
Both Adam and Jin have been fighting against each other in the presence of the White Fang members. Any Grimm or Atlus soldier that tried to attack the two, were quickly and efficiently dealt with. It was made clear by Adam that nobody is to interfere with the fight and the White Fang intends to uphold that expectation. The both of them showed a great deal of skill with their respective katanas. When one of them goes on the offensive, they quickly switch to the defensive in such a fluid way that nobody truly notices.
As the two are fighting, the sparks that was made from the clash of their blades surrounded the two. Along with the sparks, waves of energy also surrounded the two. Light blue to indicate the swings of Jin's swords and red to indicate the swings of Adam's sword. The both of them have shows great speed and precision with their swords and neither of them appear to be backing down.
After the both of them made their attacks against each other. Their blades clashed once again and the both of them were knocked back a good distance. After they were knocked back, Adam used his semblance to release several strong slash waves at Jin. Reacting quickly, Jin used a combination of his sword and semblance to create an ice pillar that quickly rose from the ground with him on top of it. Adam's slash waves were able to destroy the pillars. But not before Jin jumped over Adam and launched several ice swords at Adam.
Adam was able to skillfully destroy each of the ice swords with each swing of his sword. Though before he resumed his focus on Jin. He was quickly surprised by seeing Jin ride on a large ice sword towards him. Adam was able to destroy the large ice sword, but Jin avoided the attack and after doing so. He managed to cut Adam's hand and froze it with Yukianesa. After Adam's hand was frozen, Jin managed to kick the frozen hand and though the ice is broken. Jin was able to disarm Adam from his sword.
Once Adam noticed that he was disarmed, he proceeded to fire his gun at Jin to keep him at a distance and reclaim his sword. Jin wouldn't allow that and proceeded to make his own slash waves at Adam. This time, Adam couldn't avoid the attack and was forced to endure each attack. After he endured the attack, Adam's body started to glow red. Jin decided to go and pursue Adam and had gotten close enough to make a direct attack. Before Jin's attack could land, Adam glowed and made a strong burst of aura that was able push back Jin.
"Just because my sword allows me to use my semblance at full strength. Doesn't mean I need it just for me to use it." Adam said before he proceeded to go and reclaim his sword.
After Adam reclaimed his sword, him and Jin started to charge at each other and fought against each other furiously. Once a few seconds have passed with the two of them fighting each other. The two of them locked blades against each other. Jin did the best he could to maintain his ground. But he was slowly being pushed back by Adam.
"What's wrong Hero, are you realizing that your not as strong as you think you are?" Adam asked in a sarcastic tone before he landed a kick on Jin.
After Jin was kicked away, he quickly blocked the flurry of sword attacks from Adam. Jin was able to block a good number of Adam's attacks, but realized that Adam was able to land a few attacks. Once Jin noticed this, he proceeded to become more aggressive and was able to push back Adam. When Jin pushed back Adam, he proceeded to make several slash waves at his opponent. Once Adam saw the slash waves, Adam's body started to glow before he grabbed the handle of his sword and released a powerful wave attack at Jin. Reacting quickly Jin tried to block the attack by creating the ice wall. But it was no use, since the ice wall was destroyed and Jin was pushed back greatly.
"Ugh, if only I was at full strength." Jin said as he was standing
"Look everyone, the Hero to the Humans is wounded and weak. He would have you believe that I chose to fight him when he was at weakened and at a disadvantage. But it has been for many years that the humans have weakened us. Put all of our kind at a disadvantage by causing and allowing our suffering. Now this false Hero is granted the treatments that were forced to us. But he must not worry, for his death at the hands of a true hero will rally the Faunus to OUR just cause." Adam proclaimed to the White Fang causing them to cheer for him. Before Adam could do anything further to Jin, a female figure had leaped down between the two. When Jin looked to see who it was, he saw that it was Makoto
"Woah, you don't look too good Jin. I'm glad I went around the school to fight the Grimm. Otherwise you would have been in a lot of trouble." Makoto told Jin
"Get out of here Makoto, this is my fight." Jin said to Makoto
"No way Jin, you weren't even at full strength after dealing with Ragna. Now you expect me to let you go all out against the Grimm, Atlus mechs, and the White Fang without someone watching your back. We're teammates, we need to be able to watch each other's backs. Besides, Tsubaki and Weiss would kill me if I let you die." Makoto said before she turned to face Adam
"Why must you defend the false Hero? Can't you see that his death will be beneficial to our kind?" Adam said to Makoto while pointing his sword at her
"I know Jin's not the nicest person in the world. But he's one of the few nobles from Atlus that treats humans and Faunus equally. If anything, your showing more racism than Jin every has." Makoto told Adam
"The human have brought the Faunus nothing but pain and shame. If they believe that we will stand idly by accept the torment. Then it is time for them to suffer for their hubris nature. Starting with this Academy, and all those who will stand with the humans and fight against our cause." Adam stated to Makoto
"Beating most of you guys would be easy. But fighting against you is a different story. So I'll be taking Jin and skedaddling outta here." Makoto said before she grabbed Jin and proceeded to make several leaps away from the White Fang.
"You see, the false Hero needed our kind to save him. That just proves that I am stronger than the Hero to the Humans. This day has been won by not just me. But by all of us and soon,, many more Faunus will follow in our footsteps." Adam stated to the White Fang before he was surrounded by several cheers
(Beacon Grounds)
Ragna has spent a good deal of time fighting against the Grimm and the Atlus soldiers. As he was making his way to the school, his very being is occupied by several emotions and one of them is rage. Ragna feels angry that Cinder was able to manipulate the events that forced him and his power to go berserk. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that everything that happened has allowed him to play right into Cinder's hands. Not only is there blood on his hands, but the very people he wanted to protect either fear him or wants him dead. Complicating the issue even further is that he can't truly blame them for how they feel.
Another emotion that Ragna is filled with is guilt. Ragna had no control over his actions, but had full awareness over what was going on. He witnessed as he killed many people in the audience. Even saw first-hand how he brutally attacked the Professors and the students that tried to stop him. Some of which were people that he was glad to call his friends. Making himself feel worse, he also remembered in good detail of how he almost killed Nora and brutally ripped Penny in half. Ragna knows that most people would be overwhelmed with guilt. But he knows that he has a lot to do and figure out. One of which, is trying to figure out who the man was that was with Nu that caused him to go berserk.
"Damn it, these Grimm just won't let up." Ragna said before he killed another Grimm. Once the Grimm was dealt with, Ragna decided to pick up the pace going towards the school. As Ragna was going towards the school, he saw several people notice him and proceeded to run away from him.
"It's the Beast of Remnant!" One of the citizens yelled before they ran from him.
As Ragna was going, he felt a rumble and decided to look around to see where it was coming from. After Ragna looked around, he saw a large Grimm Wyvern and noticed that it was heading towards the school. Seeing this, Ragna knew that everything after today would be different. Things would be different for both the world and for him. Knowing that a crucial part of history was a lie and that the Beast lives on through him.
"All these Grimm, if only I knew how Sister Celica and Saya were doing, I'm already going to make Cinder pay for her part in this. But if anyone hurts them, they will know true suffering." Ragna muttered with rage at the thought of his family getting hurt. Before Ragna could do anything further, he quickly found himself being pushed into Beacon. When Ragna looked to see who it was that pushed him. He saw Nu in her armored form and was able the one pushing him towards the school.
"Hahahahaha, now we can finally have time to ourselves Ragna." Nu gleefully said as she was pushing Ragna. After a few seconds, Nu was able to push Ragna to a vacant classroom with the ground partially destroyed
"Nu, who was the one who helped you set my power off like that?" Ragna asked while holding his sword
"That doesn't matter Ragna, because now that there are no more distractions. I get to have you all to myself and there's no escape this time." Nu said in a sadistic tone before her and Ragna started to fight each other.
(Beacon Entrance)
The students spent a good deal of time fighting against the Grimm. Though it's clear from the many sounds of destruction that is evident from the area. The students were able to clear out enough of the threats to allow them a chance to breath for a moment. As the students were taking a break before they continued to fight. Sun, Ren, and Nora caught Yang and Weiss up with everything that happened. The shared look of shock on their faces at the events speaks volumes of their surprise at what happened.
"I knew that Jubei is Sister Celica's brother-in-law. But for her to also be the sister to Nine the great Sage. I don't know how to feel about that to be honest. Especially about the part about the Aura Beast's real name is really the Black Beast." Yang said voicing her thoughts at what she's recently learned
"Not to mention that all of you fought Yuuki Terumi. Though the fact that all of you barely survived speaks volumes to how much of a threat he is. Looks like this is the second time you owe him your life Sun." Weiss commented causing Ren and Nora to be confused by the comment
"What does she mean by the second time Sun? Are you guys keeping a secret that we should all know about?" Nora asked in a scolding tone
"It's a long and complicated story." Sun admitted to Nora while scratching his head
"By the way, where is Sister Celica and Saya? I thought that they would be with you all." Yang asked while looking around
"Sister Celica left to go help as many people as she can. Saya left to accompany her but made sure to let us know that Minerva will be protecting her." Ren answered causing Yang to ask another question
"Why did you let her go knowing that she would be put in danger?" Weiss asked the three
"We couldn't stop her from going off and trust me we tried. Besides, its not like we were standing around twiddling our thumbs. We were busy fighting the Grimm and mechanical Atlus soldiers. If anything, she would have been in more danger if she stayed with us." Nora said explaining the situation to the two teammates
"Then why did you let Ragna go?" Yang asked in a curious tone causing Ren and Nora to look away in slight guilt
"He was adamant on going, besides most of us were scared just to be around him." Ren answered Yang
"But what happened wasn't his fault, he couldn't control himself. We all know how dangerous it is, you guys couldn't just let him go off like that on his own." Yang responded in a scolding tone
"You weren't there to face Ragna like that Yang. Some of us almost died fighting him and he managed to kill Penny. Besides, what's stopping him from losing control like that again? I'm eager for a challenge, but maybe next time more people will die this time if he loses control like that. Especially since he contains the power of the Black Beast." Nora explained to Yang causing Sun to speak up
"But that's no reason to treat him any differently. I was there too and I know that Ragna wasn't at fault for what happened." Sun said defending Ragna
"But what's stopping him from losing control again?" Weiss said voicing her thoughts on the situation before Ren spoke up
"Enough, we're all just tired and need some rest. For now we just need to take a breather and try to figure out what's going on and what to do from this point on." Ren said calming everyone down and preventing the situation from becoming more tense than it already is. Before either of them could discuss things further, a loud explosion could be seen and heard nearby. When the students looked to see where it came from, they saw that it came from Beacon itself.
"Did more Grimm make it to the school or is it the White Fang?" Sun asked voicing his thoughts out loud
"Whatever it is, we can't just leave it alone. Weiss, can you help me get to that part of the school?" Yang asked Weiss
"I can get you to the same floor, but your going to have to run to where to the source of the explosion. But I'm going with you, so don't even think about arguing otherwise." Weiss stated to Yang not backing down from her decision
"Thank you, its nice knowing you'll have my back." Ang said in a happy tone to her teammate
"Let us go with you Yang." Nora said struggling to stand up
"No, you still need to stay here and rest with the others. Besides, if something else happens, your going to need to help them out. Me and Weiss aren't too banged up, so we're better suited to deal with whatever is going on." Yang explained to Nora reassuring her friend
"Just be careful you two, we don't want to lose anyone." Ren said in a kind tone
"Don't worry about us, just make sure to stay alive." Weiss said before she summoned several glyphs that her and Yang traveled through
(Beacon Courtyard)
Jaune and Noel have traveled through the remains of Beacon trying to find either Pyrrha or the Headmaster. As the two were traveling, they continued to fight against anything that tried to attack them. Every time the Grimm tried to attack the two, they were either quickly cut down by Jaune. Or quickly blasted away by Noel. As the two were traveling, they managed to find an elevator.
"Hopefully they went to Professor Ozpin's Office at the top floor. Otherwise I'll be officially out of idea." Jaune said in a frustrated tone
"Don't worry Jaune, we'll find her and bring her back. We just have to keep looking if his office is a dead end." Noel said sounding optimistic to Jaune
"Thank you Noel, if it was just me, I would have had a major breakdown by now." Jaune said showing gratitude to his girlfriend
"Don't worry Jaune, Pyrrha is your teammate but she's also my friend. I'm not going to let you face these threats alone. I told you, I'll watch your back." Noel said to Jaune. After the both of them pressed the elevator, there were some noise but it would be a while before the elevator would arrive. As they were waiting for the elevator, they noticed a man standing a fair distance from them. What made him stand out is his crimson colored attire and his mask. He was also accompanied by a large crimson colored doll.
"Are you a Huntsman?" Jaune asked the man
"In a manner of speaking, but I'm not here for you. I'm here for the girl that's behind you." Relius said as he was pointing at Noel.
"What do you want with me?" Noel asked in a curious tone
"You have something I must make use of. Now you must come with me this instant." Relius said in a calm tone
"What if I don't want to come with you?" Noel asked while her and Jaune are on guard
"Then I will do what I must." Relius said maintaining his earlier tone but with a hidden confidence
"You're not going to do anything to her." Jaune said in a bold tone to Relius while on guard with his sword and shield
"You are of no interest or consequence to me boy. But the girl behind you, who is the wielder of the Eye of Blue is." Relius said ready to approach Jaune and Noel with sinister intentions
"Jaune run, I don't know what he wants. But you still have a chance to get away. I can't explain it, but I think that this man is extremely dangerous." Noel told Jaune
"I'm staying and helping you Noel. No matter how dangerous things are, I never run away from people in need of my help." Jaune told Noel on guard against Relius
"Hehehehe, another reason for me to love you." Noel said ready to fight the masked man
(The Vault)
The fight against the Headmaster was admittedly intense. But in the end, Cinder proved to be overwhelming to the Headmaster and managed to kill him with the aid of her newfound power. Cinder is confident in the fact that everything on this day has been an overwhelming success. She has become the new Fall Maiden, Beacon's fall is now inevitable, and Ozpin has died. As an added bonus, she has not only discredited General Ironwood, but she has also listened to Terumi and managed to turn the world against Ragna. There was just one more piece that needed to be played before she can consider this an absolute victory. As Cinder was making her way towards her next destination, her scroll started to ring and she answered it.
"The fact that you answered this call means that things have settled down on your end." Terumi said over the Scroll call
"It did, I have now claimed the other half, thus making me the new Fall Maiden. A title and power that's Rightfully mine so I might add." Cinder said in a proud tone over the call
"Then it seems your not too busy to run a quick errand for me." Terumi told Cinder with a hidden commanding tone
"Why should I run this errand for you when I have other things to deal with?" Cinder asked losing a bit of her patience
"Because as associates we have to at least be able to help each other when we can. Don't worry Cinder, this errand involves Nu and since your closest, you'll be in a position to do something." Terumi said which caused Cinder to give an amused hum
"Depending on what it is, I might be obliged to help you." Cinder said in a confident tone
"You see, I have a strong hunch that Nu is fighting Ragna right now. Along with this hunch I have a good feeling that she is in a lot of danger. If Ragna manages to either kill her or capture her, then it will be a big problem for us in the long run." Terumi told Cinder over the call
"Since my schedule is now free, I'll see what I can do." Cinder said before she hung up and left the vault. Content with the power she now has acquired
(Within Beacon)
Ragna has fought against Nu for a good deal of time. Of the many threats he would be facing tonight, he dreaded the fact that he would have to fight Nu. For starters, he knows that Nu is a lot stronger than she looks. The second reason is that Ragna was not at full strength and knew that he was at a major disadvantage.
For the duration of the fight, Ragna found himself blocking Nu's multiple blades that were aggressively sent after him. Fortunately, Ragna was able to block a good number of the blades and counterattacked as much as he could. Unfortunately, not only would Nu summon a sword at the exact spots where Ragna would attack her. But she would and retaliated by attacking him at every opening that she would find. After Ragna was hit by another barrage of attacks. He found himself getting kicked away by Nu.
Before Ragna could recover, Nu summoned several more swords at him. With the intent to skewer him before he could stand up. Fortunately, Ragna was able to roll around the area and was able to quickly avoid the summoned swords. After Ragna avoided the swords, he was able to quickly recover and transformed his sword to its scythe form. After the weapon transformation, Ragna threw his scythe at Nu. The armored girl merely deflected it, but Ragna was able to catch the weapon on the rebound and managed to turn his weapon back to its sword form and charged at Nu.
Unfortunately, Nu made a smirk and decided to activate her second semblance. She summoned a circle underneath Ragna and managed to slow down his movements greatly. While Ragna's movements were slowed down, Nu quickly went up to him and furiously attacked him with both her summoned swords and sword swings. After the final sword swing, Nu summoned a large sword and managed to knock Ragna back a good distance.
"Damn it, I know it's a risk. But holding back against you would be even more dangerous. RESTRICTION RELEASE!" Ragna yelled releasing the seal on his power
Yes, Ragna, I want every part of you to be mine. Now you can stop holding back against me." Nu said excitedly before the two fought each other further
Ragna made several aura streams, with the hope to keep Nu at a distance until he can think of a plan. Unfortunately, Nu was able to power through the aura stream attacks and decided to take on Ragna head on. Once Nu got close, Ragna released a powerful aura burst that was able to push Nu back. After Nu was pushed back, Ragna was able to quickly catch up and land several hits on the young girl. Before he could land the final hit, Nu created a portal and a barrage of swords started to quickly fly out.
Before the swords could reach him, Ragna was able to quickly turn around and block the barrage of summoned sword attacks made by Nu. Unfortunately, this gave Nu the chance to attack him from behind which she was able to do by a strong swing of her sword. After Nu managed to attack Ragna, she was able to knock him back a good distance. After Ragna was knocked back, he was able to quickly recover. But he found himself ducking and dodging Nu's summoned swords that appeared all around Ragna. The swords that he couldn't avoid, he either endured the attack or parried them with his own sword attack.
Once Ragna dealt with another one of Nu's sword attacks. He noticed Nu was rushing towards him with a sadistic smile on her face. Before Ragna could be prepared, the circle from earlier appeared and Ragna noticed that his movements would get slowed down again. This time, he was having a better time resisting the slowed gravity. But it won't be too long before Nu caught up to him. Before Nu got close enough to him, Ragna decided to speak. Putting all of his hopes into his next move.
"BLOODEDGE!" Ragna yelled catching Nu by surprise before she got too close
After Ragna yelled, he was able to destroy the seal the slowed down his movements and proceeded to furiously attack Nu. As Ragna was attacking Nu, he was able to absorb her aura with each sword swing. Once Ragna made the final and powerful swing, he was able to not only push back Nu. But he was also able to break a portion of her armor and absorb a good deal of her aura. After Ragna absorbed her aura, he started to receive a strong rush of visions.

The images were clear and vivid to the person observing these moments. But for the person in question, the imagery wasn't the main concern. The main concern was the single feeling that she felt all over her body. That feeling was pain, this person was feeling pain all over her body. The pain wasn't new, it was a pain that has gotten used to for a long time. Though this is something that she's come to expect, it didn't change the fact that she wants it to end.
"The subject is still conscious after another test run. Should we go forward with the optic tests?" One of the scientists asked another one of the scientist
"Very well, but lets limit the test to just one eye. If by some off chance that the subject lives, we can't risk any long-term disabilities." The second scientist responded while taking some notes
"Please stop, it hurts so much." The girl pleaded to the Scientists but unable to say anything. The only indication of her emotions is the tears in her eyes
"The subject is crying, it appears the pain limiters we implemented didn't activate as soon as we hoped." Another Scientist said
"They will activate as soon as her aura is activated. Proceed with the optic tests on the subject. Remember, everything needs to be limited to just one eye." The scientist said before they all started to work on the girl's eye
"Help me, I want the pain to stop. Please let me die so the pain can stop." The girl said to herself. Yet doesn't have the strength to speak or do anything as the experiments started again
(Moments Later)
After the Scientists were finished testing on the girl for the day. They returned her to a single room. The girl struggled to walk and after a few seconds, she ended up falling to the ground. The weakened girl crawled on the ground and barely managed to make her way to the little light that she had. Once she did so, she was able to barely see her reflection on the wall and noticed her face was covered in bandages and she could see out of her remaining eye. When she looked at herself further, she sees her pale skin that is accompanied by many cuts that have healed up.
"Why . . . . why do I have to be hurt so much?" The girl barely said before she started to cry. She wanted to cry even further, but she lost the strength to do so. She lost track of how long she's dealt with this pain. But she knew that it has been for a long time.
As she was laying down, with the thoughts of the next experiments that she could expect soon. An image of a young boy appeared in her mind. The girl never saw this boy before, but something about the boy intrigued her. The more she thought of the young boy, the more she saw of him and her fascination grew.
"What . . . is your name?" The girl asked the image that's in her head. Though she heard no voice, she suddenly realized the answer
"Ragna, your name is Ragna. Then my name is Nu, maybe you can be the one to save me." Nu said in a hopeful tone
(Some time Later)
"The subject doesn't appear to have any negative responses the test runs. Should we perform experiments on the subjects?" The Scientist asked
"Of course, since there is no sign of fatigue, we can run a few more tests than before, just be careful of the subject's eye." The scientist warned
"Doctors, we have the results from the test runs we did recently and there's been a change. She is producing the desired energy that surpasses our previous records." One of the female scientists said to the other doctors
"I see, then we have our thirteenth subject. We shall rename her, Nu-13. All the more reason for us to ensure our tests becomes a success." The Scientist said before they did more experiments on Nu
"Ragna will come, he will be the one to make the pain stop." Nu thought with a good deal of hope while enduring the experiments
(A few weeks later)
"Ragna . . . . . where are you Ragna?" Nu thought before she started to cry.
"I've been seeing you in my dreams for a while Ragna. But I can't see you anymore. Are you here to save me? Or did you abandon me to my pain, like the world did?" Nu thought to herself before she started to cry even further
(Several Moments Later)
"The subject still has the content of energy within her body. But we still haven't been able to draw out the power. We haven't even made any notable progress in replicating it." One of the Scientists said to their colleague
"As long as the subject is alive, we can still continue our experiments. Replicating her power is still possible and she can still serve as our weapon. Given some time, her power will soon be the pinnacle of this branch of the Murakumo Labs." Another one of the Scientist said
"Hahahahahaha." Nu started laughing which was heard by the Scientists
"The subject laughed, we haven't seen the subject act like this before." One of the Scientists said in a curious tone
"Power, that is what it always comes down to, isn't it?" Nu said which surprised the nearby Scientists
"Nu-13 is communicating with us, but we thought she didn't have the strength to do so." One of the Scientists said in a surprised tone
"You all took away my life, gave me nothing but pain in return. Now you've taken away me special one and made me endure so much. All of you have made me suffer, the world allowed my suffering!" Nu yelled before she started to generate a good deal of her power
"The subject is using her power, the readings show that its similar to aura but different. What kind of power is she using?" One of the Scientists asked while seeing the readings
"I cannot live, but with this power. I CAN DIE AND BE FREE FROM MY PAIN!" Nu yelled before she started to generate a large portion of her destructive power
"We sought to create a weapon that surpassed anything Nine was able to create. It is glorious, because we have actually succeeded." One of the Scientists said before he was engulfed in the explosion that was caused by Nu
(Present Time)
Once the visions came to an end, Ragna felt sick. After taking a second to catch his breath, Ragna finally managed to put the pieces together from his visions. When Ragna absorbed Nu's aura, he was able to see her memories. Including all of the torment she went through at the Murakumo Labs. Due to the numerous experiments done to her. That managed to destroy her hopes and spirits. Though Ragna questioned why it was that Nu had gotten visions of Ragna when he was a kid. None of it mattered now, because he no longer saw a threat. He sees a child whose mind and body was broken by a cruel world and a hard life.
"Nu . . . . . I'm so sorry, I didn't know you went through something so horrible." Ragna muttered to Nu
"Seeing you gave me hope through those times Ragna. Now that we're reunited, this cruel world can pay for my suffering." Nu said before she fell unconscious before her armor broke apart.
"I have to think of something now. Beacon's not safe anymore and I can't take her back to the church. But I don't trust that General to help her out. He'll probably interrogate her and try to run a few more experiments on her." Ragna muttered while trying to think of a way to deal with Nu.
"So that's how you figured it out." a female voice said quickly causing Ragna to be on guard. When Ragna looked to find the source of the voice. He sees that it was Cinder with smug look on her face
"When you absorb a person's aura, you gain more than their power. But you can also gain their memories. When you absorbed her aura, you were able to see into her past. So how did it feel to see her experiences with the Murakumo labs?" Cinder said to Ragna
"Did you know about her past Cinder? How many lives do you need to ruin before your satisfied?" Ragna angrily asked Cinder
"I had nothing to do with those labs. An associate of mine found her and filled me in on the interesting details. Her life is a tragic existence when you think about it. An innocent life, never given a chance to live or choose for herself. Experimented on because those in power sees her as a weapon. Therefore, not knowing anything else, she must live as a weapon." Cinder said before she dodged a sword attack from Ragna
"You orchestrated everything that happened tonight. Because of you, my family is now in danger. I'm going to tear you apart Cinder." Ragna said in a bold tone
"Your welcomed to try Ragna the Bloodedge." Cinder said before she blocked several blasts from a distance. When her and Ragna saw where the blasts came from. They see that it came from Yang and she was with Weiss.
"He's not fighting you alone Cinder." Yang said confidently to Cinder
"Well now, if it isn't the Brawler and the Heiress. Coming to assist the Beast of Remnant to oppose me." Cinder said in a smug tone
"Don't think you can get away with everything you've done tonight Cinder." Weiss said while pointing her sword at Cinder
"You've set me up in my match. Because of you, a lot of people turned against me." Yang angrily said to Cinder
"It was necessary for the sake of our mission. Your misery was a necessity to ensure that everything was carried out smoothly. Still if Ragna had acted sooner, maybe things would have ended up differently." Cinder said confidently causing Weiss and Yagn to look at Ragna in confusion.
"What is she talking about Ragna?" Yang asked in a tone that is both curious and concerned
"She's just trying to mess with us. We can't give her the chance to get in our heads." Ragna quickly responded causing her to have an idea at the final piece that still has a part to play
"You know Yang, I admit that you were treated a little too roughly. So allow me to tell you the truth on certain matters to make up for your pain. You see, Ragna has been suspicious of me and my team for a few months." Cinder said surprising Yang and Weiss
"Is that true Ragna?" Weiss asked Ragna in a demanding tone
"She's trying to get in your head, you're playing right into her hands. Besides this isn't the time for this." Ragna quickly responded after realizing what Cinder is trying to do
"That's not an answer Ragna, did you know?" Yang asked in a much more demanding tone
"Before he has the chance to lie or play dumb. Allow me to prove it to the both of you." Cinder said before she brought out her scroll and played a video
"I know you had something to do with that Grimm Breach a few weeks ago. Even though Torchwick was captured. Your connected to it in some form or fashion." Ragna told Cinder in a suspicious tone
"You don't have proof Ragna, after all Roman was captured and confessed to everything. Unless you have evidence that connects me in some way." Cinder told Ragna in a confident tone
"I'm onto you Cinder, so don't get comfortable. Because you will slip up and when you do, I will be there to bring you down." Ragna told Cinder in a confident tone of his own
"I must admit Ragna, I'm still trying to find out how you knew it was me who was at the CCT Tower. But I'm not worried about it, because the truth will always come to light." Cinder told Ragna while not losing her composure.
After Ragna and Cinder spoke to each other. Cinder stopped playing the video before she spoke
"Even though this was taken fairly recently, Ragna caught on to us even before the Grimm Breach occurred. The fact that he didn't tell any of you anything must mean that he doesn't trust any of you. I'm sure you have a lot to talk about. Sorry Nu." Cinder said before she used her powers to launch herself into the air
"Come on guys, we have to go after her. Its clear that she's heading for the top of the tower." Ragna said before he proceeded to go. Though before he went too far, Yang made a warning blast in his direction
"Your not going anywhere, until we clear this up right here, right now." Yang angrily said with her red eyes
"Yang, this isn't the time for this. We need to . . . . ." Ragna said before Yang cut him off
"THIS IS THE PERFECT TIME FOR THIS RAGNA! I TRUSTED YOU, CONFIDED IN YOU AND EVEN SAW YOU AS MY BROTHER! YET YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT THE WOMAN WHO HAS LIED TO THE WHOLE WORLD ABOUT ME IS TELLING ME USING A VIDEO RECORDING THAT WE ALL HEARD. THAT YOU'VE LIED TO ME OF ALL PEOPLE!" Yang furiously yelled at Ragna while Weiss stood by and watched silently waiting for the next moment
"Yang I . . ." Ragna tried to say before Yang cut him off again
"BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING ELSE! I WANT YOU TO TELL ME THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT WE ALL HEARD RAGNA! TELL ME THAT THERE IS MORE TO THIS! TELL ME THAT THE VIDEO IS A LIE! TELL ME THAT MY FRIEND DIDN'T LIE TO ME AND ABANDON ME!" Yang yelled further before she calmed down causing Ragna to think for a moment
Ragna knows that this would be the perfect time to explain that his family was threatened. But the problem was that in Ragna's heart, it wouldn't feel right to state that to a furious Yang. Because it would feel like he's using the threat against them as an excuse. In hindsight, he should have gone for help even before confronting Cinder. But because he confronted her, his loved ones have been made targets to keep him at bay. Though the reason for secrecy is justified, it didn't change the fact that he still lied to her. Besides, even if he told her the full story, she would not be in a frame of mind to listen. With her clear yet justified anger. He knew he had to respond, and he knew what the likely outcome would be.
"Answer the question Ragna, is what Cinder said is true. Did you lie to me in my face?" Yang angrily asked trying to suppress as much rage as she possibly can
"Yes Yang, I did lie to you and Cinder is telling the truth. I suspected her and her team for months." Ragna answered causing Yang and Weiss to have a shocked look on their faces

This is a good time to confirm Terumi's semblance. Terumi's semblance is called Negativity, he is able to feel and sense Negativity, the very same negativity that attracts the Grimm. The more negativity that Terumi is in the presence of, the stronger he gets. Both physically and in terms of his aura. Making things worse is that if Terumi is in the presence of someone who is releasing a lot of negativity. Then he will be able to read their minds and know everything about the person.
For example, if Terumi was to fight Raven while she was filled with Negativity. He would be able to both get stronger and read her mind because of the negativity Raven is releasing. It is very important for a character to suppress as much of their negativity as possible. Otherwise, they could give Terumi plenty of advantages in a fight.
For Jin's fight with Adam, under most circumstances. Jin would be more than a match against Adam. The problem though is that Jin is nowhere close to full strength. Due to him fighting against Beast-Ragna and the many threats he faced when he made it back to Beacon. Fighting someone like Adam alone and not at full strength is VERY ill-advised. Since Jin hasn't fully recovered his injuries or aura. Adam had many advantages in the fight.
The visions Ragna saw when he absorbed Nu's aura. Is Nu's memories of her time in the Murakumo Labs. As it was made clear, Nu's time in the Labs were not pleasant, and that's putting it VERY lightly. Without giving too much away, I can confirm that there are several Murakumo labs. But the details for what the labs are will be explained in a future chapter.
For Yang's anger at Ragna for being lied too. It has been established by canon that Yang has abandonment issues. So in her case, she truly trusted Ragna. But the realization that he lied to her and kept her in the dark about Cinder. Especially when Cinder was the one who orchestrated Yang's public disgrace to the world. It would be understandable for Yang to be furious at Ragna and feel like she had been abandoned.
