To answer a few questions I was given.
There will be NO character bashing in this story. I have made it clear in a previous chapter. But will mention it again, I do not implement character bashing in the story. Since it is ultimately pointless, needless, and serve no purpose to the story. If there is some form of character bashing, I am confident that I will be informed of it and will correct the situation as best as I can.
I understand that it looks like that from Noel's visions in the previous chapter. But there is a lot more to it that I can't give away. But rest assured there will be no character bashing.
For RWBY volume 9, I have seen the trailer and clip and I'm going to keep my expectations to a minimum. It is clear that they are going for an Alice in wonderland theme with the volume as many people have said both in the reviews and the comments.
Unfortunately, the writers have a consistent history of taking good concepts and dropping the ball on them. Examples include turning Adam from terrorist revolutionary to yandere ex-boyfriend. Ironwood's turn to villainy that is poorly handled and poorly explained. Not to mention the NUMEROUS times team RWBY act holier than thou and receives no form of consequences with hypocritical actions. Like for example lying to Ironwood after chastising Ozpin for the same thing and choosing to tell him the truth at the worst time. Which is to name a few examples. Also side note, I'm thinking of removing Ironwood's semblance in this story. Because it is essentially strengthened stubbornness and in my opinion using it to explain his turn to villainy feels lazy. Let me know whether or not I should remove, change, or keep Ironwood's semblance in the reviews.
I have seen a few clips of the RWBY Ice Queendom anime and saw Weiss's outfit. It might be just me, but I'm getting a lot of Esdeath vibes from her. For those that don't know, Esdeath is the Ice General from Akame Ga Kill.
**Corrected the anime name, thanks J the Rider and sorry for the mistake, I had Game of Thrones on the brain**
Chapter 80 Negotiations
(Moments earlier in the House)
Ever since the group meeting, Ragna has spent most of his time keeping to himself. The reason is because of two things. The first reason is that most of the group are very cautions of Ragna and are actively staying away from him. Mostly out of fear of both the power he has and of the fact that he's revenge driven. Another reason is that Ragna has a lot on his mind. With the world turning against him and that Nu needs to be saved. Ragna is determined to save Nu, but as it currently stands he has no idea on how to save her. As Ragna was in thought, Bang appeared and got Ragna's attention.
"Ragna, I have come to see how you're doing. I know that people are wary of you, but please do not hold it against any of them. Myself, along with our fellow travel companions trusts you a great deal. They are only guided by fear and will only need time to process everything." Bang told Ragna
"I understand Bang, this is a big process for everyone." Ragna responded to Bang before he continued
"I also see your plight regarding your dilemma with your sister Nu. I can assure you that I understand your drive to protect your family and you have my support. One of the main foundations that the people of Ronin-Gai has been taught is the importance of family. Which applies to those we have grown close to. Such as my team who I've come to see as my own family. In fact, allow me to sing you a song that shows our embrace of family." Bang explained to Ragna
"That won't be . . . ." Ragna tried to say before Bang started to sing
"Family are the ties that keeps us strong, the bonds that will surely last long. Family, keeps us all united as one, and brightens our days like the sun. Family is what we must all embrace, and are ties that can never be replaced. Family are . . . ." Bang sang before Ragna quickly interrupted
"You know what Bang, I really appreciate your song and support. But I just remembered that I need to go and catch up to my training. So as much as I would like to continue hearing your . . . . interesting singing. I need to keep my skills sharp." Ragna quickly said before he stepped away and quickly found himself in the hallway. Before Ragna could do anything further. He noticed Jaune was approaching him.
"Hey Ragna, I was hoping if I could talk to you about something?" Jaune asked Ragna in a slightly nervous tone
"Sure, I have some time to spare. What do you want to talk about?" Ragna asked Jaune
"Not here, I want to talk to you in a room where I know we'll have some privacy, like that room over there." Jaune said as he pointed at a nearby room with its door opened.
"Alright." Ragna responded in a cautious tone before he entered the room. Once he entered, Jaune heard Ragna speak and immediately afterwards, the door quickly closed with a glyph appearing on the door. Immediately after the glyph appeared, Makoto and Weiss appeared.
"Are you sure this is a good idea Makoto? The both of them have proved to be very stubborn and hard-headed on a good day when they were on good terms with each other. So what makes you think this idea is going to work?" Weiss asked in a concerned tone.
"Problems with stubborn people requires a stubborn response. Since they refuse to talk to each other. They need to be put in a situation where their shared stubbornness will not help them in any way. Which is why forcing them to stay in a room with each other is the best solution." Makoto said in a proud tone
"But won't they be furious at us for doing this in the first place? We really shouldn't be doing anything to make things worse between those two. Or worse, they have a reason to direct their rage at us." Jaune said voicing his concerns
"This is one of those times where it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. Besides, if something goes wrong then just pin the blame on me. Trust me, once those two start talking. They will be thick as thieves again." Makoto said in an optimistic tone
(The Room)
The tension between Yang and Ragna is felt despite the silence between the two. For a few minutes that felt like hours, both Ragna and Yang said nothing to each other. The reason for this is the numerous things that happened between them. From the revelation that Ragna lied, to the fight that occurred over Nu and the loss of Yang's arm which were indirectly caused by Ragna. Once a few more intense minutes have passed, Ragna was the first to speak to Yang.
"I'm sorry for lying to you and for what happened to your arm. Things wasn't supposed to happen the way it did and if I could go back in time and change how I did things I would." Ragna told Yang in a regretful tone before she spoke up
"When you found out about what Nu went through and decided to protect her. Was that before or after you learned that she was your sister?" Yang asked while giving Ragna a focused glance
"It was before I learned that she was my sister. I know I said it before, but I still want to save her. You can't change my mind on this Yang." Ragna told Yang which visibly angered her
"I can't believe you still want to save her after everything we all talked about. After everything she's done, the people she's killed. Especially with her cutting off my arm, something that shouldn't have happened if you'd have worked with us." Yang told Ragna
"The only thing she has ever experienced in her life is pain and misery. I would think that you of all people would at least try to sympathize with her. Especially since you know how it feels to be abandoned. You still have your family but Nu had nobody who cared about her and only wanted to use her." Ragna stated to Yang
"So what will you do about Cinder, or Emerald or Mercury? For all you know they could have also gone through something terrible and were taken advantage of. Are you determined to help them just like Nu?" Yang asked Ragna
"Those three knew what they were doing and are committed to following Cinder. Nu is still a kid and you can tell clear as day that she needs help. What if it was Ruby, would you be willing to fight her if her situation is like Nu's?" Ragna countered causing Yang to get angry
"You have no right to ask me that Ragna. The only thing motivating you to be here is Nu and the chance at revenge. I know that your family was threatened, but instead of doing the right thing to protect them. Your letting revenge consume you and you have shown that you don't give a damn about anything but what you want." Yang told Ragna
"Your damn right I want revenge. I am not going to let the people who hurt my family get away with it. Even if I have to travel through Remnant, I will find them and kill them." Ragna angrily stated to Yang
"That's exactly my point, you don't want to do the right thing, or help Ruby or your team. It's only about what you want and you don't give a damn about who you hurt to get what you want. Two good examples is taking Jin to a Grimm infested area and almost getting you two killed. Also, protecting Nu, who ended up cutting off my arm while keeping secrets and endangering all of us. I know your family was put in danger, but provoking Cinder instead of coming to us was reckless and stupid." Yang explained to Ragna
"You have a lot of nerve to use that against me Yang. Since you want to talk about reckless stupidity. Then let's talk about what you've done. You took your own kid sister while she was asleep to a Grimm infested area. Looking for a woman who abandoned you when you were a baby. What I did was stupid, but what you did was nothing short of selfish. If it wasn't for your uncle, the both of you would have died because of you." Ragna angrily stated to Yang causing her to change her eyes to red
"How dare you bring that up Ragna. At least I showed sympathy and regret for putting Ruby in danger. While you couldn't even be bothered to so much as apologize to Jin. I used to think that Jin judged you too harshly. But now I'm starting to think that maybe he has a point about you." Yang stated to Ragna
"At least he can learn from my mistakes, unlike you who's passing on your recklessness to Ruby!" Ragna responded
"Recklessness!" Yang yelled before Ragna continued
"Let's start with that Grimm breach, instead of learning from that investigation where we all almost got killed. You saw Mountain Glenn as another adventure and failed to stop anything. Or how about when you busted up a night club still looking for a woman who quite frankly isn't worth a damn!" Ragna yelled to Yang
"AT LEAST I STILL HAVE MY FAMILY. SINCE YOU DESTROYED YOURS!" Yang angrily yelled before she quickly realized what she said evidence by their stunned reactions. After a brief moment of intense silence. Ragna walked towards the room door while maintain his calm yet intense composure. When he made it to the door, Ragna kicked the door and destroyed it. Once the door was destroyed, Ragna didn't pay attention to the stunned silence of Makoto, Weiss, and Jaune. Instead, he just proceeded to just leave and go about his business.
"I'm going to go and find some stuff to fix the door with." Jaune said before he left the hallway
"I'm going to go and find Ragna, to make sure he doesn't destroy anything else." Weiss said before she left leaving Makoto alone with Yang
Makoto understands that Yang is still hurt by what Ragna did at Beacon. She also sees that Yang has a good deal of abandonment issues that originated from Raven leaving her when she was a baby. Also Summer leaving for a mission and not coming back. Makoto has been understanding and gave Yang time and space. But since that anger is still going to be a problem. The gentle approach is no longer going to work. Now it's time for the time honored yet carefully handled method of tough love.
"Yang, what the hell were you thinking saying that to him? Don't you think he has enough crap to deal with in his life?" Makoto asked Yang
"Makoto, he is here for nothing else but revenge. I could let it go if he protected her after learning she was his sister. I could let it go if he wants to make up for the mistakes he's made. But he's doing all of this for himself and what he wants." Yang angrily told Makoto
"Did it ever cross your mind for one second that Ragna regrets his mistakes and you're the one who refuses to let go? Or better yet, that not one time you tried to see things from his point of view and that if you were in his shoes, you would have done the exact same thing?" Makoto stated to Yang
"What do you mean by that?" Yang asked causing Makoto to speak up
"You made it clear numerous times that you care deeply about your family. Now granted, Ragna did what he did before learning that Nu is his sister. But at the end of the day, Ragna made his choices to protect his family. If your family was threatened like his was, then what would you have done differently?" Makoto asked Yang
"I would have told someone I trusted, so we could find a way to figure things out together. I would have done so many things differently. It's hard for me to just let go of how he hurt me the way he did." Yang responded
"Yet every time you see him. You always respond with rage and anger. It's like your having nothing more than a damn temper tantrum. You take some pain and you respond with greater force. That sounds exactly like your semblance which is essentially a damn temper tantrum." Makoto stated to Yang
"WELL HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO FEEL WHEN HE HURT ME LIKE MY MOTHER DID!?" Yang angrily responded with her red eyes before she calmed down and realized what she did. Once a calming moment has passed. It caused Makoto to have a realization
"I think I understand, are you angry that he kept secrets from you? Or that you feel like he didn't trust you? Which as a result makes you feel like he abandoned you?" Makoto asked causing Yang to realize something before Makoto spoke further
"When you yelled at Ragna with what you said, are you talking to him or your mother who abandoned you? I get that you meant what you said to Ragna. But I also get the feeling that you also wanted to tell your mother that. Especially with what your dad told you." Makoto told Yang causing her to have a slightly confused look causing Makoto to explain
"I overheard your talk with your dad, about how Raven's fault's tore her team apart. I think that those faults also caused her to abandon you and made things worse. Which was further confirmed when you met up with her. So when you yelled at Ragna, you were also releasing your anger towards Raven." Makoto explained further causing Yang to have a sudden realization
"Your dad told me that from everything he's heard about Ragna from what we've told him. He is reminded of Raven in so many ways and I think that when you saw him again. You saw those similarities too, which includes how they both hurt you the way they did. Raven is the root cause of your abandonment issues while Ragna contributed to it. But there is a big difference between those two. A difference that shows why you need to make an effort to restore your friendship with Ragna." Makoto explained to Yang
"What difference would that be?" Yang asked
"When you saw Ragna again, he actually showed remorse for what he's done. While your own mother congratulated you for finder her. Knowing full well that you were looking for her and could have gone to you at any time. Though Ragna was willing to fight you if you tried to stop him from coming here. He took that punch from you because he knows he had it coming. But Raven showed no remorse, no regret, she even went as far as to promise to explain things to you if you sided with her. Now tell me what kind of mother is willing to do that?" Makoto explained further causing Yang to think for a few seconds before she spoke
"I never thought that Ragna would hurt me the way he did. I would have helped him and stand by his side if it came down to it. But for him to hurt me the way my mother did is just too much. I . . . I shouldn't have said that to him." Yang told Makoto.
"Which is why you need to make an effort to fix things. Preferably when the both of you calm down and will talk to each other calmly." Makoto told Yang
"Your right, but I can't just give up on my mom. She's complicated and maybe she's not too far gone. But for me to talk to Ragna, that's going to require some time. I can't just trust him so easily because of what he did." Yang told Makoto
"I understand, trust is easy to break. But very hard to fix, especially if it's from people your close too." Makoto responded in an understanding tone
"Also, thank you for sticking with me. I realize now that my rage didn't make me the easiest person to deal with. But thank you for being patient with me all this time." Yang said in an appreciative tone
"Yang, I'm surprised that you've forgotten that I stick by the people that I care about. So don't worry about it. I know that we haven't had a chance to spend some quality time together. But there is at least one thing we can do." Makoto said with a smirk before her and Yang started to kiss each other
"Whoa?" A male voice said which quickly got Yang and Makoto's attention. When they turned to see who it was, they saw that it was Jaune holding a box of wood and Bang was with him with holding a few tools.
"My apologies, it seems that we were interrupting. So we shall take our leave." Bang quickly said before Jaune spoke up
"Yeah, we'll just get going and fix this door later." Jaune said before he left with Bang
"Guys wait, let's talk for a bit." Makoto said before she quickly left to chase after the two leaving Yang alone in the room
"Forgive Ragna and let go of my pain?" Yang asked herself before being deep in thought
(The House Hallway)
The moment Makoto was seen kissing her girlfriend, both Jaune and Bang proceeded to leave the two alone. Makoto knows that the both of them aren't the type to talk about other people behind their backs. But due to a lot of problems Makoto faced in her life. It was a risk that she couldn't take. Fortunately for Makoto, it didn't take her long to catch up to the two.
"Jaune, Bang, wait a minute please." Makoto said the moment she caught up to the two
"Makoto, I'm sorry we didn't mean to interrupt you two. We were coming to fix the door and we saw you two." Jaune quickly said to Makoto
"We honestly meant no disrespect to your time together. I can assure you, the both of you will be left alone." Bang said as well before Makoto spoke up
"Listen you guys, I clearly see that your showing respect for me and Yang. But I would really appreciate it if you could keep what you saw quiet." Makoto told the two
"Umm why? Personally, I don't really see the harm in other people knowing. I won't go around telling everyone, but I just don't understand." Jaune told Makoto
"Neither do I, as a protector of love and justice I fully encourage people to follow their hearts. Which is something that you have done, and I am proud of you for it. Especially with your choice of partner. She is strong of will, loyal and passionate. Though she is going through a tough time, your support shall bring her the warmth and comfort she needs." Bang explained to Makoto
"That's good Bang but . . ." Makoto said while Bang continued to talk
"A love that has been born from a friendship between two passionate friends. Two individuals that embrace strength and loyalty. Who found each other and along with their love for each other shall be each other's pillar of strength in the darkest of times. It's . . . . quite simply beautiful that mere words can't describe." Bang said while on the verge of tears
"Listen, I appreciate each of your words of encouragement. But please don't tell anyone, the reason is both personal and complicated. Which is why I can't stress this enough, do not tell anyone." Makoto told the two in a pleading tone
"OK Makoto, I don't quite get it but I won't tell anyone." Jaune told Makoto assuring her that he will keep the secret
"I will keep it quiet as well. Though I don't quite understand it either. I trust your judgement and you do know what you're doing. So I will keep this a secret as well." Bang said agreeing to Makoto's request
"Thank you, I know it's odd but like I said. But the reason I want this a secret is both personal and complicated." Makoto told the two after they agreed
(The House Patio)
After leaving the room, Ragna went to the patio so he can be alone with his thoughts. The moment he found himself locked in the room alone with Yang, he had a gut feeling that it wasn't going to end well for either of them. Ragna understands the reason for Yang's anger, even her statement about how he's driven by revenge. Especially since he's not even hiding the fact that he wants to kill Terumi and Cinder. While also doing whatever he can to save Nu. Though a moment that greatly angered Ragna is the comment that he destroyed his family. As he was thinking, he heard someone approach him and when he took a quick glance to see who it was. He saw that it was Weiss that approached him.
"What do you want Weiss?" Ragna asked in a frustrated tone causing Weiss to have a brief look of guilt before she started to speak
"You probably figured out that we were the ones who locked you in the room with Yang. For starters, don't be mad at Makoto for what happened. Makoto knows that you and Yang were close back at Beacon and she was just trying to help. As for Yang, don't hold what she said against her either. She's just angry and with everything else that's happening with Salem and her mom. It was just a lot for her to handle in so little time." Weiss explained to Ragna
"I'm not holding it against any of them, if I were in Yang's shoes. I would be pissed off too, and I know that Makoto's heart was in the right place. Even though this particular plan was essentially a very bad idea." Ragna told Weiss before he continued to speak further
"The problem is about what she said about me destroying my family. I can't help but think that she may have a point. She was just the only who actually had the guts to tell me and I can't really deny it." Ragna explained further to Weiss
"What do you mean?" Weiss asked in a curious and concerned tone
"Jin was adopted because he scored the highest on some international special test. There was a time when he would visit but we always fought. All of that started because I put him in danger and I never really thought about anything else. I wanted to make him stronger, but I realize now that it was a bad idea. Sister Celica doesn't have a mean bone in her body. But the only thing she wanted was her family. Jin would come and visit, but for one reason or another we would always fight. I should have learned to let it go and try to make amends. But as you can see, I didn't. Then I provoked Cinder into going after them. Though it was Terumi that hurt Sister Celica and traumatized Saya. I should have stuck around and looked after them. But instead, I just went after those two because I wanted them to pay. I can't let go of my revenge, having me just forgive them after what they've done to my family is something I can't do. But it would be stupid of me to forget about my role in messing things up." Ragna explained to Weiss in a somber tone. A brief second later, Weiss was in deep thought before she decided to speak
"Everything you said just now, reminded me of Jin in so many ways. The both of you have a lot in common. Your shared stubbornness for starters, and also your guilt for a lot of things that happened at Beacon. I know you regret hurting Yang the way you did and I think that if you make that clear to her. Then she will let go of that pain she has that you caused." Weiss explained to Ragna
"I see, thanks Weiss and I'll keep trying. I owe her that much and more." Ragna told Weiss
"I'm not done." Weiss said which got more of Ragna's attention
"I know that I'm in no position to talk regarding family ties with brothers and I am not going to give you any details. But I think that you and Jin need to keep trying to fix your family relationship with each other. I see that the both of you care about people and each other. Despite it not being easily noticeable to people. Since we're clearly in something that's bigger than any of us can imagine. The both of you need to work together now more than ever. If the both of you can't see eye to eye regarding certain problems. Then you need to at least find a middle ground." Weiss suggested to Ragna
"I'll keep that in mind." Ragna told Weiss while looking out the forest view. A split second later, Ragna noticed out of the corner of his eye a summoned white Boarbatusk Grimm was charging towards him.
Remembering his fight with Winter, Ragna quickly sidestepped the summoned Grimm. But quickly noticed a large sword that was quickly summoned. Reacting quickly, Ragna blocked the summoned sword with his weapon. Unfortunately, because he had to block the large summoned sword. Ragna was knocked off of the patio, but was able to land on the ground safely. Before Ragna could try to figure out why Weiss attacked him. He noticed a large white knight being summoned from the ground and took up a fighting stance.
"Since we're going to have to work together. We all need to get as many chances to train and get stronger as we can. Since I refuse to fall behind and you need more training to better control your power. We're going to spend this time to improve on what we can." Weiss told Ragna
"So are you acknowledging my strength Weiss?" Ragna said in a smug tone
"Don't push it." Weiss said before she finished the knight summoning
"You still have more of my respect than your sister. I'll give you that much." Ragna said before he fought against the summoning
(Branwen Camp)
The moment Raven heard a commotion outside of her tent. She quickly put on her mask and looked to see what's going on. When she saw a small group of people enter the camp, she had a strong suspicion as to who they are. Once she came to grips with the reality of the situation, Raven mentally steeled herself for what's next and stepped out of her tent and took charge of the situation.
"Did I forget that we've had more guests coming. Or did all of you lose your spines! Pack up, we're moving on!" Raven commanded as the tribe proceeded to start packing up
"Raven, you can't blame your people for recognizing true power. So don't be too upset with them. It's because of the powers of a Maiden that we need to speak with you." Cinder said as her eye glowed to emphasize her point
"Quite an impressive set up you all have here. Though it's a bit late to run away and hide from us. You've been on our master's list for some time, so you can understand why we can't just let you slip away from us." Dr. Watts told Raven
"I know all about your master, but I know a little about some of you. To be honest, I am not impressed or intimidated." Raven told the group
"So confident, but you're the one hiding behind a mask." Mercury told Raven in a smug tone
"At least I never threatened a defenseless woman and earned the wrath of the Beast of Remnant. Something I'm sure your Fall Maiden has experienced." Raven commented which visibly angered Cinder before she composed herself
"I'm Cinder Fall, this is my associate Arthur Watts, and these are my disciples, Emerald and Mercury. The one in the mechanical bed goes by Bedman, why the young girl with the silver hair is Nu." Cinder said introducing everyone. Though when she took a look at Nu, Cinder noticed that Nu was looking towards a specific area with a intense gaze and made a mental note of it.
"Now that I know who each of you are, I'm even less impressed. You have such a strong case of Egomania that you've convinced two kids to follow you and an Atlesian Scientist that's been disgraced. While have two unknowns who are clearly a lot stronger than they look." Raven stated after looking at the group
"Well technically I was also a Doctor but I must say that the rest is spot on." Dr. Watts told Raven
"Your quite perceptive and well informed." Cinder commented to Raven
"It's what's kept me alive for all these years." Raven told Cinder
"Yet it's not enough to protect you from Hakumen. We're well-informed as well, especially with the fact that you do everything you can to steer clear of the White Void." Cinder told Raven in a confident tone
"At least I'm still intact, how did it feel being close to death after a brutal attack by Ragna the Bloodedge?" Raven responded which angered Cinder even further evident by her eye flare. When she noticed this, Cinder calmed down and took a deep breath before speaking further.
"We're getting off topic, you have something that our master wants. If we're wrong well, we can vent our rage at us wasting time." Cinder said as she summoned her flames
"Vernal!" Raven called out before Vernal stepped out of the tent
"So that's the lost Spring Maiden, prove it." Cinder commanded causing Vernal to close her eyes and raise her hands. As she did so, the sky darkened and the winds started to pick up intensity. Raven saw that Cinder was excited about the power. Yet two individuals stood out to her. Nu continued to look at the specific spot she's been staring at since they arrived. While Bedman had a bored look on his face. Yet when the power was demonstrated, the bespectacled boy looked at her and gave a smirk. Raven mentally panicked because the smirk can mean many things. But until he says something, then she will keep quiet about the details. Soon after, the power demonstration came to an end.
"Vernal has done well under my guidance, so I would take that into consideration before any of you try anything." Raven warned the group
"Raven I won't insult your intelligence so please don't insult mine. There is a slim chance that you could escape with the Maiden. But if you know our master as well as you think you do. Then you should know that there is really no true escape from her. But we have come here with an olive branch that will be beneficial to all of us." Cinder briefly explained before Dr. Watts spoke up
"The Maidens are a means to an end. Salem's true objective is the Relics. Allow Vernal to open the vault of Haven and all previous acts against Salem will be forgiven. This is the best deal either of you are going to get." Dr. Watts told Raven in a confident tone
"You act as if it's going to be easy to get into the school." Raven said
"That's because it will be, Headmaster Lionheart has been loyal to Salem for a long time. Your not the only one who . . . . ." Cinder said before she noticed Nu approach Raven aggressively. Cinder was tempted to stop her, but is decided to see how this will go.
"He was here, my Ragna was here. Where is he?" Nu asked Raven in an aggressive tone
"I don't know what . . . ." Raven said before Nu generated a great deal of power and grabbed Raven by her neck. Which was strong enough to knock her mask off. Vernal made a motion to move, but Raven motioned for her to stop despite the struggle and pain
"WHERE IS MY RAGNA? I KNOW HE WAS HERE." Nu angrily asked while tightening her grip and summoned many swords and directed at Raven
"Alright, he was here but we didn't want any trouble with the Beast of Remnant. So we just let him go. He said that he was going to Haven Academy but I don't know whether or not he made it." Raven struggled to say before Nu let her go and started walking off to a nearby border wall. Once Nu made it, she used her strength to destroy it with ease.
"Nu, you must not go off on your own like . . . ." Dr. Watts said before Nu gave him and the group a death glare that unnerved everyone
"Do not get in the way between me and my Ragna." Nu said before she left on her own
"An abnormal obsession for a specific individual. Could be proof of very deep psychological issues or an attachment that is beyond anything reasonable. Using nightmare theatre on her could provide me with some possible answers. But given the implication that she went through a hellish experience of her own. Could prove to be a dead-end inquiry. So observation is the best option to observe the holder of the other half further. Assuming of course she returns and I can observe her." Bedman quickly said voicing her thoughts.
"Salem is going to need to know about this." Dr. Watts said
"Let's finish hashing out the terms for this first." Cinder told Dr. Watts before they spoke to Raven further
(Belladonna Manor)
Blake, Sun, and Tao are currently sitting at the dinner table with very noticeable expressions. The expressions are of fatigue, frustration, and disappointment. The reason for this is that it has been several days since they all tried to get more people to volunteer. Yet every last answer turned out being the same which is no. Making things worse is that they all have been hearing rumors that more Faunus have been joining the White Fang. There are too many reasons why this doesn't bode well for anyone and time is slowly but surely running out.
"We've been at this for four days. You would think that we would have at least some people willing to sign up." Sun vented to everyone
"Meow, they need to like beating up the bad guys. I was really close to getting a few people to sign up." Tao said
"Tao, having them sign up in exchange of you leaving them alone is not what we wanted. But I do see that the lack of support is a problem." Blake said agreeing with Sun and Tao
"Don't worry too much about this. It's not like the entirety of Menagerie are signing up with the White Fang. We still have some people who are still loyal to Ghira and we're not in a war. So this means that we still have some time." Kali told the three before Ghira walked in and ate
"Indeed, giving the people a choice to help us does seem like a pointless endeavor at first. But we need to have people who believe in our cause who have faith in what we're trying to achieve. My swiftest messenger has been sent to Haven Academy so they could be warned about any possible attack from the White Fang. Tora also told me that she has an associate who works with her and Tenjo who has been informed and will act accordingly. So all hope is not lost. Still I can't help but to feel a great deal of pity for both Sienna and Adam." Ghira said which slightly confused Sun and Blake but surprised Tao
"Why, those two are very bad people. They like to hurt a lot of people and we need to beat them really bad." Tao excitedly told Ghira
"I understand your um . . . . passion to defend the innocent but with some people it's not as clear cut as one might think. Sienna Khan wants the Faunus to be accepted into the world, but the way she goes about it makes things worse in certain aspects. She doesn't see that and careless makes enemies of the humans and thus continues the cycle." Ghira explained to everyone before he continued
"As for Adam, the path he walks is formed from a strong sense of pain he had to endure. Which is evident from the scar on his face. When someone had to endure pain for a long time, they are very easily led astray. I should have seen it sooner and prevented him from going down this path. But instead, I allowed Sienna to encourage his worse impulses and formed him into the man he is today. I know they both made their choices, but understanding why they've taken their actions opens the possibility of a peaceful resolution and a chance for them to redeem themselves. I don't want us forced into a situation where we have to kill each other. Killing another is something that should be done as an absolute last resort. But the fact that we'll end up killing each other, due to causes we believe in. Is a testament that all parties have failed in some form." Ghira explained further to everyone
"I actually see what you're talking about Dad. One of my teammate's lives was affected by a lot of what the White Fang has done. Because of that, she grew to be angry and distrustful of the Faunus as a whole. At the time I never tried to understand what she went through and instead of trying to, I defended everything the White Fang has done. If I knew then what I know now, I would do so many things differently." Blake told everyone
"I'm proud to see how much you've grown Blake." Ghira said in a happy tone
"I need some fresh air." Blake said before she left to go to the balcony
Once Blake arrived on the balcony, she was satisfied by the soothing breeze she felt on her face. For one brief moment she wasn't consumed by her worries for the White Fang and was living in the moment. This didn't last too long, when she heard the sound of a very familiar voice.
"Blake." Ilia said quickly getting Blake's attention
"What are you doing here?" Blake asked in a frustrated tone causing Ilia to have a guilty look on her face.
"I overheard your talk with your friends and family and I started to think about a few things. To be honest, I've noticed a few things with Corsac and Fennec since that conference and I'm starting to get worried." Ilia told Blake in a worried tone
"Then tell me what you know, it's not too late for you to leave the White Fang. We can still do the right thing for everyone." Blake pleaded to Ilia
"Not here, the White Fang could have someone listening in on us and I don't feel comfortable. But I know where we can talk in private where nobody will listen to us. I'll send you the location on your scroll later." Ilia said before she disappeared into the nearby forest. A few seconds later, Blake saw on her scroll a map with a location marked on it.
(The Airship)
Despite the situation with Nu taking an unexpected turn. Everything went as Cinder as hoped and more. Raven agreed to the terms that's been established for them to work together and even added a few details that sweetened the deal even further. Along with agreeing to kill Qrow, this also gave Cinder a chance to kill Ruby. Though they do not know whether or not Ragna will be at Haven once the plan is set into motion. The chance for revenge and greater power is too good for Cinder to pass up.
"I still do not appreciate your alterations, Cinder." Dr. Watts told Cinder in a frustrated tone
"Like I said, you will have nothing to worry about. The Relic will be acquired and everyone get's what they want. So I fail to see the downside in any of this." Cinder confidently responded
"Raven only wanted Qrow dead, there are numerous ways we can give her what she wants and still secure the Relic. Secrecy is our greatest weapon, and it is a big mistake for you to throw it all away. Just to satisfy your pride and ego. Not to mention we still have to deal with Nu's disappearance. If that girl gets to Haven, she will draw a lot of attention to herself and I don't need to explain the problems that will bring. This will go wrong spectacularly, and I will not take the blame." Dr. Watts explained his concerns to Cinder
"Our shared strength will ensure the death of Ozpin's soldiers and the Relic will be secured. The White Fang will destroy Haven's CCT Tower which will erase any trace of our involvement. As for Nu, Terumi has a knack for tracking, so he will be the one to find her in time, if she's captured. You worry too much Arthur." Cinder confidently responded
"What about Ragna the Bloodedge, Salem gave clear orders that she wants him alive. How do you plan on dealing with him? Since your last encounter worked out so well last time." Dr. Watts asked
"I have grown much stronger since then. Besides, that brute prefers to overpower his opponents. All I have to do is apply some skill and he will cease to be a threat. It feels like you're underestimating me." Cinder told Dr. Watts
"It's a sign of wisdom to listen to the concerns of your associates Cinder. The fact that you're ignoring the possibility of things going wrong is a sign of stupidity with a touch of arrogance. Maybe Raven was right with her statement regarding your ego." Bedman quickly commented to Cinder which angered her before Dr. Watts spoke up
"Regardless of our feelings of the situation, Salem does need to be updated as soon as possible. Since you've handled certain aspects of this mission. I'm sure you will have the honor of explaining things to Salem." Dr. Watts said before Cinder came into contact with the Seer Grimm in the airship. A few seconds later, Salem came into view.
"Cinder, I assume you have something to report?" Salem told Cinder
"Raven has agreed to be cooperative in the retrieval of the Relic. Soon, the Relic within Haven will be yours." Cinder reported to Salem
"Excellent." Salem said in a satisfied tone
"There has been one unfortunate complication that occurred." Cinder told Salem which got more of her attention.
"What sort of complications?" Salem asked with the frustration clear in her voice
"There is a possibility that Ragna intends to make his way to Haven Academy. Once Nu learned of this, she ran off. She made it clear that she did not want to be pursued." Cinder reported causing Salem to think for a few seconds before speaking
"It appears I've underestimated her wishes to be with Ragna." Salem said in a slightly somber tone
"Do you want us to pursue her before we claim the Relic your grace?" Cinder asked
"No, Arthur Watts is still to return here to assist Relius in Tyrion's treatment. He has made a remarkable recovery, but Dr. Watts expertise should be fully utilized. While you and your associates focus on the retrieval of the Relic." Salem commanded
"Understood." Cinder said before the connection ended
(? ? ?)
"Tyrion!" Salem called out before the Scorpion Faunus appeared before Salem
"Is there anything you need your Grace?" Tyrion asked Salem
"Describe the progress you have made with your recovery." Salem told Tyrion
"Relius's medical engineering expertise has done wonders for me your grace. My new arm is even better than my old one. All that is left is my tail." Tyrion told Salem in an excited tone
"Are you able to fulfill a task I have for you?" Salem asked Tyrion
"Hehehehe eagerly." Tyrion responded happily
"Nu's concerning obsession with Ragna has caused her to do something rather impulsive. I would like for you to use your skills in finding Nu and bring her back. Her significance is too important." Salem commanded to Tyrion
"Gladly milady." Tyrion responded before he proceeded to leave. Before he left Salem called out to him
"Tyrion, if you succeed in this mission, then I will forgive you and Hazel's failure to bring in Ragna the Bloodedge. Though if anything happens to Nu, then understand that I will have no room for leniency or forgiveness." Salem warned as her eyes glowed to emphasize your point.
"Understood." Tyrion responded
(Menagerie Plaza Valley)
It didn't take Blake too much time to get to the specified location that was sent to her. Once she arrived, she waited for a few minutes before she noticed Ilia arriving and she was alone. Blake looked around the area and noticed that Ilia was alone and unarmed.
"I've come like you wanted Ilia." Blake told Ilia in a cautious tone
"I see that, I know it wasn't easy for you to come. Especially with how things are right now." Ilia told Blake
"I know your scared and I know things are hard. But me, my family, and my friends can help you." Blake told Ilia trying to reassure her
"I'm sorry, but it's too late." Ilia said in a somber tone
"It's not too late, just tell us what's going on and we can find a way to fix this. You just have to trust me and we can work together." Blake told Ilia trying to gain her trust
"It is too late . . . for you. NOW!" Ilia yelled out before a Bat Faunus attacked Blake and caused her to disarm her weapon. Before Blake could reclaim her weapon, a Spider Faunus appeared and used her web to trap Blake in place.
"Well done sister Trifa and you have done well sister Ilia." The Bat Faunus said before he gave Ilia her weapon
"Ilia, you can't do this. This isn't the right thing to do, and you know it." Blake told Ilia in a pleading tone
"I've warned you before Blake, I'm sorry that it has to come to this and that you've forced my hand." Ilia said to Blake with hints of anger
"Don't tell me your sorry." Blake quickly interrupted
"But I am sorry, that you didn't listen, that it came to this, and that you're fighting against your kind. While hold the Faunus back from what needs to be done." Ilia angrily told Blake
"We're trying to help people, how is that holding the Faunus back? Attacking innocent people will do nothing but justify the hate and fear people have of the Faunus. We have all suffered enough and it needs to end." Blake told Ilia which caused the young girl to be visibly angry
"WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT SUFFERING!?" Ilia yelled to Blake before she continued to talk
"You have not endured the suffering many of our kind had to endure. You have never been driven from a Kingdom, you still have your family, and you have never been persecuted just for being who you are. While so many of us have lost everything. When you were a part of the White Fang, I thought that you sympathized with us and wanted the world to be better for the Faunus. But I see that the humans have corrupted you." Ilia explained to Blake
"Listen to me Ilia, I know you have suffered. But if you and the White Fang keep doing this, then everything will just get worse. Then peaceful coexistence will be impossible." Blake said in a pleading tone
"Look at the world Blake, the humans are content with letting us suffer while many others will just allow it to happen. Fear puts an end to hate and even though I don't like hurting people. The fear that we give to the humans has gotten us results. We've gotten the fair treatment that we deserve and they know what will happen if they try to keep us down. It's a tough world and a painful reality." Ilia angrily told Blake
"Look what all of that has gotten you. The suffering continues, and the Faunus still hasn't been seen with respect but with fear. There's no justice in any of this." Blake stated to Ilia
"Sometimes for the greater good, we all need to make sacrifices. Even our sense of justice, I thought you understood when you were a part of the White Fang. But Adam was right, the humans have corrupted you. So you can be cleansed and then redeemed." Ilia said causing Blake to have an even more shocked look on her face at the familiarity of the words
"Did Adam tell you to do this?" Blake asked in a slightly panicked tone
"No, Adam is preparing for a noble mission that shall strengthen the White Fang. But you will be punished. Starting with your family, once their gone. You will have nothing left in the world." Ilia explained causing Blake to have a shocked look on her face
"Ilia please, you can't do this. This isn't right, none of this is you in any way." Blake said in a pleading tone
"This is me, but I guess you were too blind to see it." Ilia told Blake before she continued
"Our time together in the White Fang, were the best moments of my life. Your eyes lit up when you talked about fighting for a just cause. I would have given anything for you to look at me like that at least once. But I guess we can't get what we want." Ilia said with dark pink eyes
"Ilia . . ." Blake muttered
"Yuma, come with me, Trifa, take her to the docks for transport." Ilia said before she left with the bat Faunus
"Let's go traitor." Trifa said as she tried to drag Blake along.
"Now!" Blake yelled causing Sun to jump from a nearby roof and kick Trifa away. Before Trifa could attack Sun, Tao jumped down as well and rammed her to a nearby wall as Sun freed Blake.
"Thanks for the save you two." Blake said in a grateful tone
"Meow, thank you for the chance to beat up some bad guys." Tao excitedly said as she was throwing some air punches
"Come on you two, my parents are in danger. Sun call the police, Tao just follow me and don't get lost." Blake said as the three rushed to get to the manor
(The House Yard)
After spending a good deal of time training with Weiss. Ragna decided to call it a day and spend time in the yard. The sight of the numerous trees and moon reminded Ragna of simpler times back at the church or when he was training with Jubei. Back during a time when the world wasn't calling him the Beast of Remnant and when the world wasn't against him. Ragna knows that he shouldn't let his wish for revenge consume him. But he could never bring himself to forgive Terumi, Cinder, or Salem for what they've done to him. As he was looking at the moon, he noticed a familiar short presence and she acknowledged him.
"Hey Ragna." Ruby said in an excited tone
"Hey Ruby, it's nice to see your still in high spirits despite everything." Ragna told Ruby causing the young girl to smile in response
"I heard what happened between you and Yang. I know that things are bad between you two but don't be too mad at her. I mean she's just hurt and . . . ." Ruby tried to explain before Ragna interrupted her
"Ruby, don't bother trying to defend what Yang said. I already head the defense and I'm not holding it against her. I know I screwed up and I know that sorry isn't going to cut it. But I can't stop what I'm doing because of my regrets. They have to pay, I refuse to let those bastards get away with it." Ragna briefly explained to Ruby causing her to have a concerned look on her face
"I know we have to stop Salem, but you can't let revenge consume you. It will just destroy you from the inside." Ruby told Ragna in a slightly pleading tone
"Would you let go of what Terumi did to your mother? I know it was him that killed her. Since I heard the son of a bitch brag about it at the top of the tower." Ragna asked Ruby causing her to look down with a slightly guilty way
"I guess, I'm in no position to talk." Ruby somberly said before she thought of a question to ask
"You said you knew about Cinder and Nu's past with your semblance. But when uncle Qrow mentioned who told him about all that stuff about the Grimm Aura and the Three Azures. You knew who he was talking about. Do you know the person?" Ruby asked
"Only a little bit, her name is Rachel and she is really hard to deal with from the time I spent with her. She told me about the Murakumo Labs and warned me about Nu. She also warned me about Jin having a special power." Ragna explained to Ruby causing her to have a look that's a mix of curious and amazement
"Ooh, a secret yet powerful person that has a lot of answers and sounds very mysterious. I wish I could meet her." Ruby said in an excited tone
"Trust me you don't, that brat is condescending and dresses like a rabbit. Honestly, I wish I could meet her again so I could tell her in her face that her ribbons makes her look like a rabbit and one day I will strangle her with them." Ragna stated to Ruby in a tone of annoyance. A few seconds later, a small whirlwind of wind and rose petals started to envelop both Ragna and Ruby
"What's going on?" Ruby asked in a worried tone
"It looks like I'm about to get my wish." Ragna said before the both of them disappeared in a shroud of darkness
(The Rose Garden)
A split second later, both Ragna and Ruby appeared in the Rose Garden. When Ruby recovered from the surprise of being teleported. She looked around and her face was full of amazement at her surroundings. While Ragna on the other hand felt annoyed at what happened and looked around for the individual that is responsible for there recent transportation.
"This place is so cool. A vast rose garden that could fill an entire classroom. A beautiful moon that's not broken. Wow, is that a castle in the back, are we going to meet a princess?" Ruby excitedly asked
"She's more of a headache than a princess." Ragna said before they noticed a young girl drinking tea while looked over by a familiar older man. At the sight of this, the two walked towards her and immediately recognized Valkenhayn.
"I remember back at Beacon, thank you for your help Mr. Valkenhayn. Also it's nice to meet you Miss um Princess." Ruby said as she bowed to Rachel
"Do you see that brute, that is what we call manners and respect. Maybe if you've gained a modicum of her sense of respect. Then maybe you would have many people wouldn't be quick to judge you harshly. At least not before seeing the failing potential you have." Rachel stated to Ragna which visibly surprised Ruby
"Maybe if you talk to me with more respect and got rid of those ribbons. I wouldn't be tempted to chop you like a rabbit." Ragna angrily responded
"You know Princess, I never thought he would abduct little girls. I hope he isn't becoming a beast of another nature." Nago commented
"They do seem quite familiar with each other. Though I hope that the young girl hasn't grown infatuated with him. She can do so much better, an ape that punches first and thinks later would be a vast improvement." Rachel said which angered Ragna further
"I'm gonna make you cry rabbit." Ragna said as he grabbed his sword
"As much as I would love to bring you down like the lowly speck that you are. There is a reason I've brought you here. Don't be in such a rush to be defeated like the last time we clashed." Rachel told Ragna before Ruby spoke up and covered Ragna's mouth
"I'm sorry about Ragna, a lot has been happening to him and he's just a bit frustrated about it." Ruby told Rachel
"I see that you do have some measure of manners despite your naïve perspective on the world and your path. But I am aware of much that is going on. Even the fact that you are now part of the war against Salem." Rachel said which calmed Ragna down and piqued Ruby's interest.
"Can you tell us anything about Salem? I think that whatever you tell us can help us." Ruby asked Rachel
"It is not my place to divulge what I know about Salem. Besides, compared to another threat. Salem is nothing more than a minor inconvenience." Rachel told the two
"You mean Terumi." Ragna stated to Rachel after he calmed down
"Well the brute used his brain. Yes, Terumi is an even greater threat than Salem. If she has a basic idea of what he's fully capable of. Then she would not work with him. Before any of you ask, I have a few ideas of what he's after but none of it is concrete." Rachel told the two
"Since you know so much, I have to ask to confirm it. Did Terumi tell the truth, is Nu my sister?" Ragna asked Rachel causing Ruby to look at him in concern
"It is true, Nu is your sister. Terumi is capable of many evil acts. Yet in a case of immense irony, he does not tell lies. He'll leave specific details out, but he does not lie. It is how that monster brings others to the depts of despair." Rachel explained to the two
"Then is there a way for me to save her?" Ragna calmly asked
"That depends entirely on what you can do?" Rachel responded
"Then how about this, do you know why that masked freak wanted me dead?" Ragna asked in a frustrated tone
"Because your young companion had put me in a pleasant mood. Along with your miraculous survival against the White Void. I do feel slightly inclined to answer your questions. Hakumen's hatred for the Black Beast is much more personal for him. Especially when you consider where he came from." Rachel said which piqued more of Ragna's and Ruby's interest
"Where did Hakumen come from?" Ruby asked
"The armor he wears has not originated from Remnant. But the individual himself did come from Remnant. Hakumen comes from an era of time where the Black Beast has never been stopped." Rachel said which surprised and excited Ruby which is evident from the look on her face
"I've read something like this in my comics from the X-Hunter series. Did Hakumen come from the bad future and he traveled to the past?" Ruby excitedly sked
"That is a basic yet accurate grasp of the situation. The Black Beast was never stopped in Hakumen's original time and due to numerous circumstances. He agreed to travel to the past." Rachel told the two which excited Ruby further
"So cool, with armor that has not been created on Remnant. Hakumen has traveled to the past to destroy the Black Beast. A threat that has not ended in his original time." Ruby said in a slightly deep voice trying to narrate
"Do you see that brute, she grasped the concept easily. This is what happens when you use your brain." Rachel told Ragna in a condescending tone
"Don't push it you rabbit." Ragna responded before Ruby asked another question
"Does that mean you know who Hakumen really is?" Ruby asked
"Indeed, but you can't expect me to spoon feed you all the answers you seek. Ragna, did you feel a connection of some kind to Hakumen when you two fought?" Rachel asked
"Why would I feel a connection to that masked freak. Is there a reason your asking that?" Ragna asked in an impatient tone
"It is nothing for you to ponder over." Rachel quickly responded
"Then why have you brought us here?" Ragna asked in a slightly impatient tone
"It's regarding Terumi, and it is imperative that you both listen and understand." Rachel told the two before speaking further
"The both of you are not to fight Terumi under any circumstances. If you two do end up fighting him. It's imperative that you both retreat from the encounter with him. Victory against him with you two will be impossible." Rachel said causing Ragna to angrily step towards Rache with Valkenhayn stepping in
"You expect us to just run away from that son of a bitch after everything he's done!" Ragna yelled to Rachel
"Despite Terumi's full capabilities, besting him in combat is simple. But making sure he stays dead is much more complicated. Let's just say that he has a few more chances. Nine learned this fact the hard way and died for it. Which is why sealing him was the best option at the time." Rachel explained to the two
"What can he do and why do we need to run?" Ruby asked
"Along with having aura and a semblance, Terumi is also capable of using magic. Not to mention he is very skilled and experienced and also clever and intelligent. As for the reason you two should retreat, it will much be better for you two if you didn't know." Rachel explained further to the two
"I see." Ruby said in a disappointed tone
"Well if it isn't Ragna the Bloodedge, this is quite the pleasant surprise." A male voice said which got everyone's attention. When they looked to see who it is, they see a green apparition with a red eye. Though when Ruby and Ragna recognized the voice, they knew who it was.
"TERUMI!" Ragna yelled as he grabbed his sword and swung at the ghostly figure. Only for the result to be as if he's swinging air
"I'm not really here Rags, this is a projection. I just wanted to see the shitty vampire, you know just to mess with her and the loyal dog for a bit. Only for me to find you here of all places. How's that new arm holding up?" Terumi asked in a mocking tone
"COME AND FACE ME YOU SON OF A BITCH! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE! TO SISTER CELICA, MY SISTERS, AND TO ME!" Ragna yelled causing Terumi to laugh
"HEHEHEHE HAHAHAHAHA! If I'd have known you would still be this mad because of what happened at Beacon. I would have waited for you to come just so I can see your natural reaction when I hurt Celica. I might've even hurt Saya just for fun. Your reaction would be so worth it." Terumi sadistically told Ragna
"FUCK YOU!" Ragna yelled as he released a strong burst slash at the ghostly figure
"I told you that wouldn't work. Are you just a natural dumbass or think you might have a chance to hurt me? Still, we will have a proper fight Rags, especially with your copy of the Azure Grimoire." Terumi gleefully stated to Ragna before Ruby calmly stepped forward and looked at the ghostly figure while fighting back tears
"You are a monster Terumi, you take satisfaction in spreading despair and misery to everyone. How could you kill people and smile about it? You were one of the Six Heroes of legend, but you're a monster. You've killed innocent people, killed people who are just trying to make the world a better place. Even . . . even. . . ." Ruby choked up before she angrily looked at ghostly Terumi with tears running through her face
"EVEN MY OWN MOTHER! You've killed my mother and bragged about it. The Grimm has more humanity than you! DO YOU HEAR ME!" Ruby yelled at Terumi with anger and tears
"I killed your mother, you're going to have to be a bit more specific. Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down? I've killed a lot of people, mommies, daddies, sons, and daughters." Terumi stated angering Ruby further
"YOU MONSTER!" Ruby yelled before she released a blast of silver light from her silver eyes. Once the light dissipated, Terumi was slightly unnerved
"Now I remember, you were at the tower with rags and what's her name . . . oh year Pyrrha. To be honest I don't even know why your mad, if anything you should thanking me." Terumi told Ruby
"THANK YOU!?" Ruby angrily yelled
"Of course, you chose a profession that has schools that train kids to fight and kill. Did you honestly think the Grimm would be the only thing you'll be fighting? You'll end up killing people sooner or later. Then you'll have someone wanting to go after you for revenge. Your mommy knew what she was getting into and still chose to be a Huntress. Do you know how many Huntsman and Huntresses died and their families don't know their fates? I told you what happened and gave you closure regarding your mother. She died a warrior's death and you should feel honored. Which is why you should be thanking me. Well I'm waiting for my thanks." Terumi explained to Ruby angering her further
"YOU ARE A MONSTER!" Ruby yelled releasing a blast of silver light from her eyes at Terumi
"Interesting, so that's the power of the Silver Eyes. I see some potential value in its use." Terumi thought before Rachel stood up
"Your unwanted visit has come to an end Terumi." Rachel said before she waved her hand to blast Terumi's apparition away from the Rose Garden
"Is he dead?" Ruby asked
"No, I merely banished him from my Rose Garden. It's a temporary measure and can return. Unfortunately he still lives, it will take more than that for him die." Rachel answered
"Do you see that, how can we walk away from that bastard?" Ragna angrily asked Rachel
"That is something you two must figure out. I stand by my warning and reason for not telling you." Rachel told said before she used her power to send the two away
"Milady, do think the details you've given them will suffice? It appears that they are not ready for such burdens." Valkenhayn asked
"When they learn the true depts of Ozpin's war and Salem's immortality. The burdens they bear will only grow heavier. Terumi still remains the greater threat but his partner is still unknown to me and it is problematic." Rachel told her loyal butler
"Regarding Hakumen, should I interfere with him?" Valkenhayn asked
"There's no need, Hakumen has his own duties to fulfill, and it won't be effective if there is interference. Besides, like I told Amane I can't bail the brute out of trouble every time he gets into it. Nor can I spoon feed him the answers he wants. Besides, when the time is right, I predict that Ragna will learn of his connection to Hakumen." Rachel said as she drank her tea
(A/N)
Makoto went through a lot of problems as a Faunus. Even though she has friends that accepts her for who she is. She is not ready to come out because of everything she went through. The memories of what she went through still haunts her. Which is confirmed from her bad ending in Continuum shift extend.
For Blake, I'm going to be honest for a bit. The more I think about it. It feels like that for Blake's backstory in canon. In my opinion, I think the writers missed the mark. I do not hate Blake, but having her come from a very well off family and not have any bad experiences in her life due to being a Faunus prevented her from being a compelling character. I know that she was part of the White Fang before they became terrorists. But a lot of things she does such as lying, not helping Velvet, and running away did more harm to her character. Especially when nobody calls her out on it and she also treated Sun horribly in volume 4 canon. I see that she is a good person, but her writing could have gone better.
I've heard the Smile RWBY song repeatedly and if Blake's backstory is similar to Ilia's or better yet Makoto's. Then it would have benefited her character greatly, but since it's not, I have to do what I can. So Ilia's rant against her does have some valid points.
For Rachel asking Ragna about feeling a connection to Hakumen. It's her way of teasing him that she knows who Hakumen really is. You guys and myself who Hakumen's real identity. But most of the characters in the story don't know and I am not going to hint at whether or not they will ever know.
For the F bomb used in this chapter. I've read the forums and I've seen other T rated stories use the F word. If I use it once, I should be fine. But I do want this to be a T rated story. If you guys want me to change it, please let me know and I will do it.
So read and review
Thank you
