Eva could still hear the voices, ones trying to get her to kill, but they were now easy to ignore and it was getting easier. She remembered that hearing the word "syringe" had set her off. All she wanted to do was kill everyone. Even with Thor holding her, she had tried. Trying to fight him and Loki performing the ritual had prevented her from doing so.
Eva cried, "I tried to hurt all of you!"
Her mind couldn't process the thought of hurting any of the people around her. They had helped her and Loki escape hell. They eased them bother into a sense of normalcy. She had created a family with them. It devastated her to think that she had wanted to kill all of them just moments before.
With hesitant movements, Steve put his hands on Eva's shoulders as he said, "Baby, it's okay."
"But I threw Bruce," she responded, her voice showing her anguish.
Before anyone could try to reassure her, Hulk came running in. When he saw Eva, he roared. The amethyst-haired woman stepped back in fear. She had never seen Hulk, only heard about him.
Hulk threw desks out of his way to get to Eva. Wanda was concerned and walked toward the green giant.
"Bruce," she said in a calm voice, "it's okay."
Hulk turned to her and grunted in anger. The Sakovian woman didn't look afraid. She had done this before. She held up her hand.
"I know," she said, her voice soft and sweet. "It's okay." Hulk slowly made his way to her. "That's right. You're safe now." She put her hand palm up. "That's it. I'm here." The angry being stared at her, his face softening as he laid his large hand in hers. "Please."
She began to play her fingers down his arm, touching specific pressure points until she snapped her fingers off of his. They stared at each other for a moment before Hulk ran through the hole. Everyone stared after him, watching his body contort and shrink. Grunts could be heard as the change took effect.
"Bruce?" Wanda called out.
Hulk-Banner stumbled on bits of debris and couldn't stay upright. He landed hard. He was breathing heavily, trying to hold onto any part of his clothing he could.
"Wanda?" he gasped out.
Everyone let out a collective sigh of relief. Sure, there was a new, large doorway in several rooms, but Hulk was tamed for now. Loki was especially glad. His last encounter had not left the best impression on him. Thor had his arm around his boyfriend, who shook slightly but the tremors were leaving him now that Banner was in control again.
