To answer a quick question, Jin was fighting the Grimm along with everyone else. I wanted to focus on the other characters in the action and change things up.
Also, I don't think I will do a RWBY X Justice League crossover. That might change but I wouldn't count on it. Though I am honestly surprised I am not seeing a crossover parody of RWBY X The Boys. I would love to see Homelander in the world of RWBY.
A couple of warnings for this chapter.
A quick reminder, I am not going to write the flashback of Ozpin's and Salem's past life. Since the audience knows the details and I won't really add anything significant to the flash back. So writing it will be unnecessary which is why I decided to not write it out. Though I will still write the various reactions to learning the truth after they learned the full details.
A second heads up, there are going to be some intense moments in this chapter and it may not be easy to read so discretion is advised. Once the moment is seen the reason will be clear.
Chapter 87 Lost Truths and Answers
(Crash Site)
Everything was supposed to go smoothly for the large group. The plan was for everyone to get to the City of Argus. Then figure out a way to get to the Kingdom of Atlas despite the border closing. The plan was simple with no needed complications, yet the moment they all boarded the train. Complications is what everyone was greeted with. Due in no small part to the withheld crucial information regarding the Relic attracting the Grimm. A detail that proves that the Relic itself will put people in danger as long as its not properly secured. Moments after the train crash, everyone tried to recover as best as they could. Yet the anger they had still lingers which is evident from the tense rage they have at their current predicament.
"This is nothing but a load of bullshit. We're stranded in the middle of nowhere and we lost a large portion of our group. Making things worse, we have a defenseless old lady. Who were are going to have to protect. On top of everything else we have to deal with." Yang angrily said as she was getting her motorcycle out of the pile of snow.
"My name is Maria Calavera and I am not defenseless. I'm just a little hard of hearing, and blind without these specialized goggles. That are in desperate need of repair." Maria said as her goggles spazzed for a moment before they were quickly settled, once her eyes were settled, she spoke further
"OK, I see your point this is pretty bad." Maria said
"I know that we are in a very bad situation. But its important for you to stay calm and remember to respect your elders. Manners and respect can't be forgotten even in the worst of times." Bang told Yang
"Thank you young man, it's nice to see that some of you know to respect your elders." Maria said in a happy tone
"Well it's hard to stay calm and respectful when we're in a situation like this." Yang angrily responded
"Yang we get it, this is a bad situation but we need to keep it together. If we lose it now, then we'll just attract the Grimm. Given our condition, we're in no position to push our luck." Qrow told Yang
"It doesn't matter, wherever we go. The Grimm aren't far behind." Blake quickly said causing Yang to speak up further
"Oh and how could I forget another big detail. What happened to being honest and trusting us?" Yang angrily asked while looking at Oscar
"I agree, you owe us an explanation for that." Oscar said before Ozpin took over
"I didn't lie to you, I just . . . ." Ozpin said before Ragna interrupted
"Decided to leave out a very important fact that put us all in danger. It's stuff like this, that makes me wish I could have done more than just punch you back at Beacon Ozpin." Ragna angrily said causing Qrow to grab his shoulder to hold him back
"Please everyone, I know your angry but this isn't the time for this. We need to . . . ." Ozpin said before Ragna angrily spoke further
"When the hell is the perfect time then Ozpin. You keeping secrets have put a lot of people in danger back in Beacon. Then instead of giving us a warning about the Relic being Grimm magnets. You decided to keep it from us and made sure that we weren't prepared. We've been doing things on your terms, well now these are our terms and you better give us some damn answers!" Ragna angrily explained to Ozpin causing him to back away cautiously
"If I am agreeing with Ragna of all people. Then the situation is truly dire." Weiss told Ozpin voicing her thoughts on the situation
"It's true that the Relic attracts the Grimm, though I am not entirely sure why. I suspect it has something to do with their origin. I suspected that if you all knew about this, it would bring added stress that you all didn't need. I hoped it would be what's best for all of you." Ozpin calmly explained to everyone
"I'm getting tired of people trying to tell me what's best for me. Instead of letting me decide for myself." Weiss said causing Bang to speak up
"Professor Ozpin, I know that your heart was in the right place for all of us. But if that was the case, why didn't you tell Qrow this crucial detail? He's been with you the longest out of all of us and it's a slap in the face to his loyalty for you to do this." Bang told Ozpin in a questioning tone
"Was it this mindset that made you lie to everyone about Lionheart?" Yang angrily asked
"Yes, as a matter of fact it was. I believed the Kingdom of Mistral deserved to be remembered for his lifetime of service instead of his series of poor decisions that led to his death." Ozpin firmly told Yang and the group
"Poor decisions that brought many people to their deaths and led us to a trap." Yang angrily responded
"What he did is reprehensible, I am not arguing otherwise. But should a lapse in judgment mitigate the good that he's done. We've all made mistakes and have regrets in our lives. You all met him but I knew the man he was before Salem got to him." Ozpin briefly explained to the group
"So because he did a few good deeds, we're supposed to pretend he deserves to be honored?" Ragna angrily asked causing Ozpin to look at him with a stern gaze before speaking
"How many lives do you think is on Nu's hands Ragna? I understand that your family was threatened but that doesn't change the fact that you knew about Cinder months before the attack on Beacon. It also doesn't change the fact instead of subduing Nu which would deal a major blow against Salem and Terumi. You chose to protect her and unintentionally aided in her escape. I thought that you of all people would at least understand why I would want to protect Leo's legacy." Ozpin explained Ragna
"Fine, I'll give you that, but that doesn't change the fact that you kept a secret that carelessly put us all in danger." Ragna told Ozpin
"We're not going to betray you, the only thing we want is for you to trust . . . ." Yang said before Ozpin yelled
"DO YOU THINK LEO WAS THE FIRST!?" Ozpin yelled before he spoke further
"I've been told all of this before. Many people have betrayed my trust and I've had to learn from that every single time. I have no reason to doubt any of you, but you have to understand that the things I do and the details I keep close to the chest are backed by years of experience. Especially the secrets I find it crucial to keep closely guarded." Ozpin explained to the group
"Listen everyone, it's clear that things are tense right now. So let's talk about this when we are not in the middle of nowhere. Ozpin needs to be held accountable for carelessly keeping us in the dark like this. Especially since his secrets has endangered many people. But we need to make sure we're safe and secure before we can discuss this further. Otherwise, all of this arguing will be for nothing." Bang explained to the group before Ozpin realized something crucial
"Where is the Relic?" Ozpin asked before Ruby showed him she has it
"It's right here Professor, it got scattered in the crash." Ruby said as she showed the Lamp
"Thank you, please let me have it." Ozpin told a hesitant Ruby
"All those times you said that we need to have faith in humanity. Did you mean it or was it something for us to hear?" Ruby asked in a concerned tone
"That's not what I meant to suggest, Ms. Rose the relic is a powerful item and I feel that it's my burden to bear. Please bring me the Relic." Ozpin said in a pleading tone causing Ragna to speak up
"Since it attracts the Grimm and Oscar still needs training. Wouldn't it make sense for one of us to carry the Lamp? We're still stronger and more experienced. So why are you adamant on carrying a Grimm magnet?" Ragna asked while giving Ozpin a focused gaze
"Please, I need you to . . . ." Ozpin said before Oscar interrupted and there is a visible struggle within the body
"You need to hurry, he is trying to stop you." Oscar struggled to say
"Stop us from what?" Blake asked in a concerned tone
"He's afraid that you'll learn the truth about the Lamp. You need to say the name Jinn to summon her." Oscar told the group before he lost control to Ozpin and fell to the ground
Upon learning the name of the Lamp, the nearby wind increased in intensity. As if to either match the shared tension of the situation. Or to tempt the group to use the lamp that has the potential to expose more of Ozpin's lies and secrets. As Ruby looked at the Lamp further, she made a decision to utter the word that can affirm or break her trust in the mysterious Headmaster.
"Jinn" Ruby said causing the snow in the surrounding area to stop as if frozen in time. A brief yet tense second after Ruby said the name. The lamp mystically floated in the air as it glowed and for a few moments, glowing blue mist surrounded the lamp and as the seconds went on, more of the blue mist seeped out of the lamp moments later. A large female figure was formed and she took shape and appeared before the large group that has various looks of bewilderment on their face.
"Welcome I am Jinn, a being created by the God of Light to aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge. I've been graced with the ability to answer 3 questions every 100 years. Your all lucky, because I am able to answer 3 questions for you all." Jinn said causing Ozpin to have a visible look of surprise on his face despite his tears.
"That can't be, it was supposed to be 2 questions." Ozpin said which surprised everyone even further.
"What do you mean, it was supposed to be 2 questions?" Blake asked causing Jinn to speak up
"It's a pleasure to see you again old man. You are right, I did have 2 questions remaining for this era a few years ago. However, a great power has restored my questions so I can answer 3 questions for this era. Now tell me, what is your question?" Jinn asked causing everyone to angrily look at Ozpin
"Ruby, please don't. You can hate me all you want, you can curse my name to the end of time. But I am begging you not to do it. Please." Ozpin said in a pleading tone in tears
"Hey." Qrow said causing Ruby's team and Ragna to point their weapons at him. With an angry glare that made it clear that they are at their limit. Getting the message, Qrow started to back off
"Do whatever you think is right kiddo." Qrow said getting the silent message. Afterwards, Bang started to approach the group in a calm manner, despite the group point their weapon at him to
"I understand your angry, I know that Professor Ozpin has a lot to answer for and his carelessness and secrecy has endangered many lives. But look at him, he is desperate to prevent us from learning something. Are you sure you want to find out like this? Because I have a feeling that whatever we all learn. Will change everything and I don't know if it's going to be for the better or worse. Are you sure you want to do this Ruby?" Bang asked Ruby in a concerned tone
"I understand what your saying Bang. But with him keeping so many secrets and endangering us. We can't deal with it anymore and at some point, we need to draw the line on where we stand." Ruby told Bang before she looked at the Jinn with a look of resolve.
"Jinn, what else is Ozpin keeping from us?" Ruby asked
"NOOOOOOO!" Ozpin yelled before everyone proceeded to learn the truth behind the war and Ozpin's greatest secret
(The City of Argus)
Despite the intense attack from the Grimm. The group and the passengers were able to safely make it to Argus with no further problems. Once the passengers left to go to their intended destination. Jaune and the others decided to sit at the station to figure out what else to do. Though aside from reporting on everything that happened, they are at an impasse.
"I hope everyone else is still okay." Ren said in a calm tone
"I'm sure their all fine Ren. I mean come on, team RWBY is back together again and they have a skilled Huntsman. Not to mention Bang and Ozpin is with them. If anything , you should be more worried about any sorry sap that crosses their path." Nora excitedly told Ren
"They also have Ragna with them." Ren quickly told Nora causing her to visibly shake
"Well I'm sure that as long as Ragna doesn't um go crazy they should be fine. If anything, this proves my point that whoever is crazy enough to cross them will certainly have their days numbered." Nora happily said before Jaune approached them with Bullet and Tao.
"I've been trying to call Ruby and the others but I can't get through. Dammit, they should have been here by now. I think something went wrong, I should have never let them get separated from us." Jaune said in a worried tone before Makoto grabbed his shoulder
"Calm down Jaune, it's like Nora said they are more than capable in a fight and have handled worse situations. Once they all arrive, you'll see that you were worried over nothing." Makoto said trying to reassure Jaune
"Your right, I just need to give them some time and stay calm." Jaune told Makoto before calming down
"Lambda, can't you use your semblance to sense where they are or something?" Nora asked Lambda
"They are currently out of range and unless they are grouped together. I can only sense and track one person's aura at a time." Lambda answered causing Nora to pout
"So until something changes, we're practically sitting on our butts doing nothing." Nora said in an annoyed tone
"For now we need to see what we can do about getting to Atlas. For now we should make our way to the base and try to talk to someone who can help us." Ren suggested to the group
"Speaking of people who should be helping us. Where is the Jin,?" Nora asked before Jin, Bullet, and Tao approached the group as if on cue.
"I've filed the report for what happened while leaving out certain details. I've also looked at the map, so I know how to get us to the Argus Base." Jin told the group
"Wow, way to show concern for the others Jin." Nora said in a sarcastic tone
"We can sit here twiddling our thumbs worried. Or we can make sure everything is ready for when they all arrive. I would prefer to do something instead of wallowing in worry. Besides, Ragna is with them, so I doubt any of them will die easily." Jin briefly explained to Nora.
"To this day, I still can't tell if your being encouraging or condescending." Nora told Jin
"Try focused and determined to get things done." Jin sarcastically responded before Jaune spoke up
"Please everyone, let's just do what we can without any problems." Jaune said in a tone that is a mix of tired and worried
(The City of Argus)
Once the group left the station, they started to make their way destination by riding a streetcar while being led by Jin. As they were traveling, they see that the people of the city are living in relative peace. If it wasn't for the knowledge of where they currently are. Then they could easily believe that they are in a Kingdom. The size and scale of the city is nothing short of impressive. Which amazed many in the group.
"This place is incredible, so many people are living pretty comfortable lives." Nora said in an impressed tone
"The settlers of Mantle helped in the development of this city while Atlas keep the people safe and ensure secure trade." Ren told the group as they were walking
"Until recently due to a lot of decisions by General Ironwood." Nora added to the details
"Which is a nice reminder that our work is going to be challenging as it is stressful." Bullet stated causing everyone to have a concerned look
"Meow, but can't they just open the borders for a brief moment to let us in?" Tao asked in an innocent tone
"Unfortunately Tao, it's not that simple. The Kingdom of Atlas has strict military guidelines and we can't expect them to break the rules to help us unless we have a very good reason. So trying to convince them to allow us to get into the Kingdom of Atlas while leaving out specific details regarding the relics, Ozpin, and Salem is going to be . . . . problematic." Ren explained to Tao causing Nora to have an idea
"Hey Makoto, aren't you friends with Tsubaki who is a noble? Maybe she can help us get into Atlas without much problems?" Nora asked
"No can do, even though Tsubaki's family has a lot of political and government influence in Atlas. They still have to listen to and obey the council every day. From what Weiss told us, because General Ironwood has two seats on the council and commands the military. He has majority power and Tsubaki's father is a big supporter of General Ironwood. Even though me and Tsubaki are close, I don't expect her to go against her father to help us. Especially since we're not going to be upfront with her about why we need to get to Atlas and meet with the General." Makoto explained to Nora
"Ugh, I hate to ask you for help Jin. But can't you use your family connections to get us to Atlas? Seeing as though your part of a family of nobles and is the hero of Vale and Mistral." Nora suggested to Jin as they were walking
"My adopted family aren't the type of people to do things for altruistic purposes unless they gain something from it in some form. I doubt any of them are fans of the General's policy, but unless there is a significant gain from going against his orders, they will not help us." Jin briefly explained to Nora
"Wouldn't the idea of doing the right thing be a good reason for them to help us?" Nora asked
"No it wouldn't, my adopted family has a large number of private military forces that ranges from mercenaries, to various militia groups. That also extends to many reaches of Remnant. Even though the head of the family wouldn't be fond of General Ironwood's actions. He knows not to go against him since it will create countless problems in the long run." Jin explained further
"Not surprising, the mercenary group I was born into had to deal with a few people from the Kisaragi's. But I thought that the Kisaragi's have investments in many avenues aside from military and mercenary work?" Bullet said
"They do, but they have a great preference for the world of Huntsman and Huntresses. Business wise, they never put all their eggs in one basket. But they still have a heavy interest in combat based careers. They see the business of Huntsman and Huntresses as very lucrative." Jin explained answering Bullet's curiosity
"So the bottom line is that we can't expect any help. Well this just means we need to rely on our people skills to secure an airship until we are reunited with our wonderful friends." Nora said with a great deal of enthusiasm
"Well I'm glad to see that your enthusiastic Nora because it looks like we've arrived." Bullet said as the group found themselves within walking distance of the base. When all of them saw the destination, they got off the streetcar and started to approach the base. Once they got closer, they were greeted by a large gate and two guards who are wearing the same attire.
"Meow, is it just me or am I seeing double?" Tao asked
"I'm seeing the same thing Tao, their dressed the same way and they also look the same too." Jaune told Tao
"How may we . . ." One of the Nubuck guards said
"Assist you . . . ." The other Nubuck guard said
"On this fine day?" The Nubuck guards finished in perfect unison
"We need some help with something important." Jaune told the guards
"What do you need help with?" One of the Nubuck guards asked
"Do you have need for a military Huntsman?" The other Nubuck guard asked
"Or do you need to file an official report?" The Nubuck guards asked in perfect unison
"What we need is quite simple, just a very simple Bullhead to get us and the rest of our friends to the Kingdom of Atlas please." Nora quickly said causing the guards to look at each other awkwardly
"A request like that . . . ." One of the Nubuck guard said
"Cannot be filled . . . . ." The other Nubuck guard added
"At this time due to the border being closed. Please have a good day." The Nubuck guards finished denying the request
"Look, we need the damn airship so if you two guards won't help us. Then bring out your commander so we can move this along." Bullet aggressively said causing the two guards to briefly look at each other
"Very well." One of the Nubuck guard said
"Give us a moment." The other Nubuck guard said before they started to run off in militarist chant and unison
"Bullet what was that about, we need to play it cool and get them to like us." Jaune told Bullet
"They weren't going to help us and my brain cells could only take so much of a beating. At least speaking to the person in charge will give us a chance to move things along." Bullet told Jaune
"Then let Ren be the one to talk to the one in charge. He has incredible people skills and it will be our shoe-in for an airship." Nora confidently stated before the Nubuck guards returned
"Introducing." One of the Nubuck Guards said
"Special Operative." The other Nubuck guard said
"Caroline Cordovin!" Both of the Nubuck Guards said in unison before a short yet older woman approached the group. Once she got closer to the group, she looked over each of them and gave a brief huff before speaking
"My guards have informed me that all of you have urgent need of an airship. So I hope that you civilians appreciate the fact that I'm taking time out of my valuable day to attend to all of you personally." Caroline told the group in a confident tone causing Ren to clear his throat before he spoke
"Ms. Cordovin, me and my friends are currently on an urgent mission that has led us here. Due to the circumstances of our mission, we have a great need for an airship. I know that we're asking for a lot, considering the fact that the border is closed. But our mission is very important and I can assure you that we wouldn't request something like this if it wasn't important." Ren explained to Caroline
"This facility has been built by the great minds of Atlas to ensure the stability of Argus. Part of my duties is to ensure that this facility follows all guidelines as it is a representation of the great Kingdom of Atlas. As such, your request for an airship cannot be granted. Because it is unreasonable and the borders are closed. You can leave now." Caroline explained to Ren causing Jaune to speak up
"Ma'am, we know that the border of Atlas is closed, But we need to speak to General Ironwood and it's really important that we do so." Jaune told Caroline in a pleading tone
Please, you civilians can't honestly expect me to lend you an airship just for you to meet the General. Who is spending his valuable time ensuring the safety of Atlas. Due in no small part to the emergence of the Beast of Remnant and the rest of the world wishing the grand Kingdom of Atlas dead. So your delusional and unreasonable request is denied." Caroline explained to Jaune
"Meow, our request isn't delusional just give us the airship." Tao said causing the group to facepalm
"I hope whatever Kingdom this cat Faunus comes from can teach her the value of knowing big words. Consider your little and delusional request denied." Caroline said before she noticed Jin and spoke further
"Though exceptions can be made for very significant people of Atlas. Such as yourself Mr. Kisaragi." Caroline said causing Jin to have a curious look before speaking
"What do you mean an exception?" Jin asked
"Of course, nobody blames you for the unfortunate events that occurred during the fall of Beacon. If anything, many significant people commend you for stepping up and representing your rightful Kingdom. After all, you saved Vale during the Grimm Breach which earned you the title of Hero of Vale. Then you went a step further and subdued the Beast of Remnant. Adding to your growing list of accomplishments, you have played a pivotal role in saving Haven Academy and earned the title Hero of Mistral. Which makes you a very significant individual to Atlas." Caroline explained to Jin
"Word travels fast." Jin commented before the specialist spoke further
"As I said, nobody blames you for the unfortunate events that occurred. We most certainly refuse to believe the slanderous claims that you're the brother of the Beast of Remnant. After all, such a notion is ridiculous, our esteemed hero. Related to the bane of the world, this is stuff you only read story books." Caroline explained further
"I did what anyone would have done." Jin stated to Caroline
"We understand, why your initiative is the motivation for the Hunter's Initiative program." Caroline said causing Jin and everyone else to have a curious look
"What is the Hunter's Initiative? This is the first time I've heard of something like this." Jin asked
"The Hunter's Initiative is a program that is sponsored by many Atlas nobles with the head of the Kisaragi family spearheading the program. It's designed to allow youthful individuals such as yourself to do their part in protecting their Kingdom as fellow Huntsman and Huntresses." Caroline answered which surprised everyone
"Doesn't that program bypass the Academy's altogether?" Ren asked
"There are some restrictions but this is the best way for others to follow Mr. Kisaragi's noble example. So if he wants to return to his rightful Kingdom where he will continue to set an example. Then he is more than welcomed to do so. As for the rest of you, we are done here." Caroline finished making her position on the matter clear
"WELL WE WON'T REST UNTIL YOU LET US THROUGH!" Nora yelled before Caroline and the Nubuck guards returned to the base and the gates closed
"Uptight and everyone thinks their better than everyone else. Now you all see why I'm not entirely thrilled to get back. Still, at least this wasn't a complete waste of time. We learned a few things in the process." Makoto said to the group
"Your right, still the program seems like a legal way for the nobles to undermine both the Academies and General Ironwood." Ren said voicing his thoughts on the grogram
"It's like I said, my adopted family won't do anything unless they gain something from it. Since the border is closed, it will deal a blow to my adopted family's various business. Hence the creation of a big workaround. A private force of Huntsman and Huntresses that doesn't answer to Ironwood. But also one that they indirectly control. With me as the poster child with my Hero title. With word of my newest title being known. It adds to the justification of the program. I told all of you that we should have been truthful about the details of the attack." Jin vented in a frustrated tone
"I know you don't like it but it's like Qrow said it was necessary. Right now we need to figure out what to do until Ruby and the others get here." Jaune told Jin
"I still have some money, we can get a hotel for a few days until further notice." Jin suggested before a blonde woman holding a young toddler stated to approach them after noticing them.
"I thought I saw you." The blonde woman said as she recognized Jaune. When the blonde leader took a better look at the woman, he recognized her immediately
"I can't believe it, Saphron is that you? It's so great to see you again." Jaune happily said as he gave her a hug. After the siblings hugged each other. Jaune happily brought his sister to the group to introduce her
"Everyone, this is my older sister. Saphron, these are my friends and teammates." Jaune happily said introducing his sister to the group with everyone exchanging greetings. As the greetings were being exchanged, Saphron's son Adrian pointed at Jin with a toy in his hand. When Saphron noticed this, she quickly realized why
"Wow, I never thought I would meet a hero in person before. Not to mention know that my brother is friends with one. It's a pleasure to meet you Jin Kisaragi." Saphron said as she greeted Jin
"How do you know who I am?" Jin asked before he noticed the young boy holding a toy that is modeled after Jin
"Now what brings my adorable little brother all the way to Argus?" Saphron asked in a curious tone
"It's a long and complicated story sis. A big part of the details is that we're waiting for the rest of our friends. For now, we plan on going to a hotel." Jaune said before Saphron spoke up
"Now that won't do, I'm not going to allow my brother to spend money at a hotel. I have a perfectly large house that can accommodate all of you." Saphron happily said much to everyone's delight
"While your offer is appreciated, that won't be necessary. Once everyone else gets here, it will make your place crowded and more of a headache. All of you know my scroll number, so call me if something happens." Jin told Jaune
"I will go to the hotel as well." Lambda said causing Jaune to speak to the both of them
"Come on guys, I know that things are bad but we need to stick together. If something happens you can help protect my family." Jaune told Jin
"So I can protect your family like you protected mine?" Jin said causing Jaune to have a look of guilt before Jin spoke further
"Look, having too many people under one household will cause some problems in the long run. If something happens call me, the local signals are still up and running. Besides, I'd rather not have all of us get badgered due to my acquired title." Jin said as he was leaving with Lambda
"Come with me Jaune, I look forward to hearing all about what you've been up to." Saphron eagerly said to Jaune
"I'm looking forward to it." Jaune told his sister as his mind drifted towards his friends and is hoping for their safety
(Train Crash Site)
The entirety of the group is standing in stunned silence after learning many crucial details regarding Ozpin and Salem. From how Salem's actions have led the God of Darkness to destroying the people of the world. The origins of the Relic and what will happen if they are reunited. To the family that was formed by both Ozpin and Salem. Yet among the biggest takeaways are the origins of Ozpin's reincarnation and Salem's immortality. Yet the biggest revelation is the fact that Salem is immortal and Ozpin said nothing. Upon learning this, everyone was in stunned silence and among their silence is the anger that was formed within themselves.
"You all heard it too right? Salem can't be killed." Yang asked the group
"I . . . ." Ozpin tearfully said causing Yang to angrily yell
"There is so much you didn't tell us! Hoe could you think it was OK?" Yang angrily asked causing Ozpin to have a look of guilt on his face while enduring the tears. Seconds later, Ragna angrily stepped up
"My family was put in danger because of you and Salem's bullshit. Because of you two, this whole damn war started. The same war that put my family in danger and allowed you to stupidly endanger the lives of everyone close to you! People have fought for you and you decided leave out a crucial piece of information! Not even giving anyone a chance to prepare or a false hope! This won't change my plans for Salem, but this damn war started because of you and her!" Ragna angrily yelled at Ozpin
"Professor, do you have a plan to stop Salem?" Ruby asked in a stern tone with a matching gaze. Upon seeing Ruby, Ozpin has a look of shame and guilt as he was about to speak his answer
"I'm sorry, I don't have a plan." Ozpin said in a tone full of regret. Hearing the answer angered Qrow due to his lifetime of loyalty and service being a big lie. Causing the veteran Huntsman to angrily charge at Ozpin with a strong punch. Before the punch landed, Bang pushed Ozpin out of the way and allowed himself to be punched in Ozpin's place. After getting hit, Bang blocked everyone from Ozpin
"GET OUT OF THE WAY BANG! THIS BASTARD HAS A LOT COMING TO HIM!" Qrow angrily yelled prepared to attack Ozpin
"If you want to attack someone to vent your frustration. I will gladly take your hits and will not retaliate. But I will not allow you to attack him, not in good consciousness." Bang told Qrow holding his ground on the matter
"He lied to all of us! Kept the fact that Salem is an immortal from us and is prepared to force us in a never-ending war! WHAT REASON DO YOU HAVE TO STOP US FROM GETTING THAT LYING BASTARD!" Yang angrily yelled with her red eyes
"All of you are angry at what we've learned regarding Ozpin's secrets. Make no mistake, I am also disappointed in him as well. Even if it was Lord Tenjo, I would make my disappointment clear. But all of us are thinking solely with our anger. We haven't had time to process the information and it's a lot to take in so soon. Besides, ignoring the facts regarding Salem, does this truly affect our reasons for walking the path that we do? If we were in his shoes, would we do anything differently?" Bang explained causing everyone to maintain their glare before he continued to speak further.
"Besides, moments ago Professor Ozpin said that many people have betrayed him in the past. The moment we learned the truth, we turned against him and in turn validated his decisions. If we're prepared to put our lives on the line for his mission, then we deserve to know the truth of what we're getting into. Our leaders also needs to be held accountable and take responsibility. But if we respond poorly and justify their decisions, then the cycle of mistakes and secrecy will continue with no sign of ending. We need to take some time to process all of this so we can think clearly." Bang explained to the group calming some of them down significantly causing Qrow to speak to Ozpin with more restraint rage
"I was cursed, nobody wanted anything to do with me. You gave me a place in this world and I thought I was doing some good. But all of it was a lie, meeting you was the worst luck of my life." Qrow stated to Ozpin in a disappointed tone
"I'm sorry, you may be right." Ozpin said before he withdrew within Oscar's mind
"Oh no," Oscar said as he quickly realized what happened
"Are you OK?" Ruby asked in a concerned tone
"He's gone." Oscar said in a slightly panicked tone
"HOW DARE THAT BASTARD! TELL HIM WE'RE NOT DONE YET!" YANG angrily yelled causing Oscar to panic
"I can't, it's like he's locked himself in the back of my head. Or is it our head, I don't know anymore." Oscar said in a panicked tone with everyone else matching his frustration
"He just left us?" Weiss asked in a tone full of disbelief
"What are we going to do now?" Blake asked before Ruby had a sudden thought
"Wait everyone!" Ruby yelled out getting everyone's attention before she spoke further
"I know that we're all angry. But we still have another question and this is a chance for us to get some much-needed answers." Ruby said as she looked at the lamp
"Jinn." Ruby said bringing out the spirit of the Relic
"Two callings in a row, I assume that you have a question for me?" Jinn asked
"I do, who is Yuuki Terumi?" Ruby asked the Relic
"Yuuki Terumi is . . . . ." Jinn started to say before she felt immense pain. Shortly afterwards, several markings started to appear all over her body. Once the markings appeared, she started to writhe in immense pain.
"GYAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Jinn yelled as she was in immense pain which had everyone look at her in concern. This lasted for a few minutes until the pain dissipated as the marking disappeared. Once it did so, the spirit of the relic felt immense relief that the pain ended.
"What happened, can you answer my question on who Terumi is?" Ruby asked in a concerned tone
"This has never happened before, but I see that a power equal to my creator is blocking my power to answer that particular question. Though I can still answer two questions, I cannot answer questions regarding the individual that you're referring to. Doing so would mean my destruction." Jinn explained to Ruby which surprised everyone
"You've got to be kidding, just when we can learn about Terumi. We're being told that we can't learn a damn thing." Ragna angrily stated to everyone
"It looks like a power that's equal to a God is interfering with the Relic's power. If that's the case, how did something like this happen?" Blake asked
"This just means we have more questions than before and since we can't speak to Ozpin about this. We're on our own with this." Yang added
"It's not like we have any lingering questions that needs to be answered. Besides, having two questions is still better than nothing. Despite the fact that we can't learn anything about Terumi." Weiss further added causing Ruby to have another thought
"I do have a question." Ruby said causing Jinn to look at Ruby in an intrigued tone. Before Ruby spoke, she took a glance at Ragna.
"I'm sorry Ragna." Ruby said in a somber tone before she looked at Jinn
"What are Ragna's origins? as far as where he came from and his family." Ruby asked which surprised everyone before Jinn used her powers to envelop the area in a light blue mist before she started to speak
"To discuss the origins of your friend Ragna, we will need to discuss the origins of his parents. His father was a humble farmer, though he had no true fame or glory to his name. He was a simple man who was content with his farm and doing simple work. A reflection of his kind nature that's acknowledged by many within his village."
"Though the origins regarding his mother is admittedly different with its own set of tragedies. Among the world of Remnant, after the fall of the Black Beast. Many people who reside in the underworld have allowed their scientific ambitions to go unchecked have sought to create weapons with the sole purpose of destroying the enemies of the Kingdom by any means necessary. Even if the method to create such weapons comes at the cost of things such as morals and humanity. Where experimentation on all manner of life, including the Grimm and people were common occurrences. With ambitious drive and accomplishments growing each moment. These locations were known as the Murakumo Labs. Where inhumane experiments is as common as the deaths that follow the Grimm attacks. Yet there is one scientific ambition that has received progressively better results over the years. The creation of artificial life."
"Within the Murakumo Labs, many scientific minds have contributed their own ideas and in time it inevitably led to the creation of the first Artificial Human. Yet despite the success of the creation of artificial life. It was tragically short lived and over the years through generations. Many Artificial Humans were created, with each one barely living longer than the predecessor. Yet until one day, an Artificial Woman was created and she lived longer than all the previous Artificial Humans from before. Then once her body was stable enough, various training regimens were implemented. Training sessions she passed with flying colors. Then when she was ready for combat, she fulfilled her missions to perfection. Hordes of Grimm, seeing the end of there days. People that were a threat to the interests of the labs, killed before anything could be done. The Artificial Woman knew nothing of right and wrong, she was not even given a name. She knew only to follow orders and followed them she did. Until one day, when her skills were to be put to the ultimate test."
"One day the ones in charge of the Murakumo Labs caught wind of an individual that's capable of great feats of magic. Seeing a golden opportunity to advance their scientific research and ambitions further. It was decided to for the Artificial Woman to go and retrieve the person of magic. The person being what you all know as a Maiden. However, due non-existent experience regarding magic and the Maiden being exceptionally skilled. Despite the Artificial Woman's feats and capabilities. It was not enough and the Maiden bested the Artificial Woman. As a result, she was lost and the Murakumo Labs declared her dead. Yet this paved the way for a destined union."
"Going back to the humble farmer, he was out and about one day. Until he found a lost and injured woman. Due to his kind nature, he took in the woman and gave her aid as best as he can. Because the Artificial Woman knew nothing of the world or about herself. The Farmer believed it was an major case of amnesia and decided to take care of her. Yet as time went on, the farmer grew more fascinated with the artificial woman knowing nothing of her origins. An interest that slowly but surely started to be mutually shared. After several years, the two started to truly care for each other. The Farmer growing fond of the mysterious woman and found himself attracted to her more and more over time. While the artificial woman herself, slowly but surely developing her own sense of humanity due to this kind man's nature."
"As the two truly found each other, they proceeded to live together as husband and wife. Then over time, a large family was formed from the two with kids. The oldest boy with a strong passion named Ragna. A set of timid twins named Jin and Noel. With a much younger child named Saya. While the artificial woman was expecting a fifth child. With the occasional help from the Villagers, the Farmer and the Artificial Woman was happy with their lives. They had close community and a happy home. Yet like many tragedies born from happiness. This happiness inevitably came to a tragic end."
"It was a matter of time until those from the Murakumo Labs. When they did, they were surprised by the fact that the Artificial Woman they created was able to produce life. Yet the intrigue was short-lived, as they captured the Artificial Woman. Despite the Farmer's noble attempts to protect his family. It wasn't enough and the Farmer, the Artificial Woman, and their children was taken. The Village that they were a part of was destroyed to ensure that nobody would track them down. When everyone arrived at the Murakumo Labs, they quickly learned that the Artificial Woman was pregnant and saw many more research opportunities. They would have to keep her and the baby alive. But they had to make sure they wouldn't escape. Hence they did their intended deed. The children would be separated from their parents. Yet out of pity, three of the siblings will still be together for experiment research purposes. While the twin girl Noel will be in a different lab. Though to prove they are not bluffing, they killed the Farmer in front of the Artificial Woman with the message that they are not bluffing and a similar fate will await her children if she fights them."
"Months later, the Artificial Woman proceeded to give birth to her fifth child who you know as Nu. Yet due to not receiving sufficient care. The Artificial Woman died shortly after giving birth, only to be able to see her newborn baby once. Before closing her eyes one last time. The ones within the Murakumo Labs learned from this and took care of the child with their own plans in mind. Yet as Nu was being raised, fate had their own plans for the other children. Due to the actions of a revenge driven scientist named Kokonoe, one of the Murakumo Labs was destroyed in an explosion and either by luck, or the intervention of fate. Noel was spared the horrors of the Murakumo Labs and happily found herself adopted by the Vermillion Family."
"The set of three children were hours away from enduring the horrors of the Murakumo Labs. Yet a timely intervention of a Faunus of legendary status and reputation. The Faunus that brought an end to that particular lab is the legendary hero Jubei himself. Many of the children within that lab were sent to various orphanages with no knowledge or understanding of where they were or what they were saved from. Yet the three children, Ragna, Jin, and Saya were happily adopted by Celica A. Mercury, sister to the legendary hero Nine."
Unfortunately, Nu was not so lucky compared to her other siblings. The ones in the Murakumo Labs did raise the child with the bare minimum. Ensuring that she was alive and safe. With their sadistic ambitions prepared for her. Only to be given the bare minimum regarding education and care and the moment Nu became old enough and her body is in acceptable condition. Her true hell began."
After Jinn made the statement, the entire group saw in good detail the experiments that Nu was forced to endure. The experiments was of many variety, from sharp objects to various uses of dust. Yet the intense pain was consistent and worsened each day. The ones on the Murakumo Labs kept Nu alive, but only to experiment on her shortly afterwards. The group saw the true hell that Nu endured.
There were various reactions towards what Nu experienced within the Murakumo Labs. Qrow was simply stunned at what was happening to a little girl and made him realize that there were people in the world that were more of a monster than the Grimm. Maria clutched her heart upon seeing something truly inhumane done towards a child. Bang's face was filled with anger at the fact that Nu is not only forced to endure this. But to also know that there are people like this in the world. Oscar, was stunned and frozen in thought and action, while having an expression that's a mix of shock and worry.
Blake's expression was of horror upon seeing a monstrous experiment done to a child. A treatment that is similar to what the abused Faunus had been forced to endure. Weiss's face was full of horror and her face was full off tears at what she's seeing done to a child. Yang's face was a mix of shock and anger and she understood why Ragna is determined to protect her. Ruby's face has a look of pure horror and eventually, she could endure it no more and threw up at the terrible sight that's before her. Ragna on the other hand was filled with nothing but pure rage. An anger that is contained by the fact that if he releases his anger at what he's seeing now. He could once again become Beast-Ragna and would go on a murderous rampage hunting the ones that created the Murakumo Labs.
"The experiments continued for years and increase in intensity shortly after Nu unlocked her aura at such a young age. Her tears and looks of pain went ignored and as she was on the cusp of despair. A vision of an individual gave her hope and the strength to endure believing that her pain would come to an end. Yet after a great deal of time, the individual never came and under the influence of pain and despair. By her own power, she destroyed the Murakumo Lab she resided in by a surge of her own power. Thus ends the story of Ragna's origins but not his family."
"Ragna is the oldest of his siblings. His younger siblings are twins Jin Kisaragi and Noel Vermillion. His younger sister is Saya and his youngest sister is Nu. Yet there is one more, though he came from the future. I do not know how he came from the future to our current time, but he goes by another name as proof that he abandoned his former self and took on a new identity. He travels Remnant and has claimed the name Hakumen. Yet his past self, his original name is one you all know. Hakumen's real identity and his original name is Jin Kisaragi." Jinn finished explaining
"What?" Ragna muttered in a stunned tone upon learning everything

For the intense moments in this chapter, if it was too much to read, I do apologize but it was necessary for the sake of the story. Team KKMT, the Happy Huntresses, Carl Clover, and Jaune have seen the Murakumo Labs after they were destroyed or completely shut down in this story. But nobody ever saw what it was like in there prime. Ragna only saw glimpse of them and they were from Nu's memories. Thanks to the Relic of knowledge Jinn, everyone was able to see what the Murakumo Labs was like. Jinn was right, Nu did experience hell.
As for the big revelations, Ragna, Jin, Noel, Saya, and Nu are half human. With the other half artificial human. Blazblue canon, confirmed that these characters are artificial humans and I wanted to keep that.
I've read many complaints about Volume 6 and I am curious about a few things. I have my own thoughts on Volume 6 and I want to know. What complaints do you guys have regarding Volume 6 and if you do have them. Please let me know, because I want to avoid the mistakes as best as I can. I already know how I'm going to approach Volume 6 in the story but I'm willing to make adjustments for quality purposes.
