Hello everyone, I know you were all waiting for the Beginning chapters and well I'm half way done. You see instead of making you all wait for the second part I've decided to do both parts at the same time. It will still have two separate chapters, but they will be posted one after another. And I don't know when part two will be done. But know that both chapters are on their way, just be a little patience.
Now for this Side Story I wanted to do a show. After all Lucas has a Rillaboom and a Toxiricity, and is friends with the Dark Type Gym Leader Piers, so I thought Lucas might have learned a thing or two from him, including how to rock. Now let's get this Side Story started.
Side Story 4
Battle of the Bands
Republic City Park
After a hard day's work of bending training. Tenzin gave everyone the rest of the day off. And Olivia decided to take the group to the park, where they met She and Lucas ran into Lily. It wasn't long after they arrived at the park, that they all started dancing around, even Zoey, who still had her grumpy face on. "I got to say Olivia, this place is pretty cool." Korra said to Olivia. "Yeah. This place is one of the best places in the city." Olivia said to Korra. "Well, well, well, look who's here." A male voice said to Olivia, making everyone stop dancing.
"With a few down sides." Olivia said as everyone turned to see a man with white skin, greasy black hair, tied into a ponytail, hazel eyes, wearing a torn vest, with no sleeves and shirt, revealing his baer chest, ripped jeans, spiked shoes, and a guitar on his back. "Olivia I see you got away from the stupid temple." The man said to Olivia. "That stupid temple is my home, Zane. what do you want?" Olivia said to the man.
"What can't a boyfriend see his girlfriend?" Zane asked Olivia, surprising Lucas. "For the hundredth time I'm not your girlfriend." Olivia said to Zane. "Oh come on baby don't be like that. You know, I can give you a better life if you come with me." Zane said to Olivia, placing a finger on Olivia's cheek. "Hands off her." Lucas said as he forced Zane's finger off Olivia's face, and forced him back. Then Lucas got in front of Olivia.
"Look, this doesn't concern you." Zane said to Lucas. "No it does." Lucas said to Zane. "Ah, I see, so that's what this is about. Trying to act the hero to get my girl. Well then how about we settle this. A battle of the bands. You and your band vs mine. If my band wins Olivia's all mine and you can't stop me. But if you win then she's all yours, and I'll leave her alone." Zane said to Lucas.
"And why should I agree to this. Olivia has the right to choose who to be in love with." Lucas said to Zane. "What's wrong, don't think you can win." Zane said to Lucas. "No. It's that Olivia is a person not a prize." Lucas said to Zane. "Sounds like you forfeit. So come on Olivia, let's leave these losers." Zane said to Lucas and Olivia, as he reached for Olivia's hand. Then Lucas grabbed Zane's hand and forced it back.
"If beating you in a battle is the only way to get you to back off. Then you're on." Lucas said to Zane. "Main stage, middle of the park in one hour. Don't be late or you forfeit." Zane said to Lucas, before leaving. Then everyone looked at Lucas.
"Lucas are you crazy. You don't have a band." Mako said to Lucas. "And none of us can play any instruments." Asami said to Lucas. "Plus none of us can sing." Bolin said to Lucas. "What are you going to do Lucas?" Korra asked Lucas. "Going to win. Obviously" Lucas said to Korra. "But what are you going to do? I could lend you a few Pokemon, so that at least you have a dazzling display for your performance." Lily said to Lucas. "I'm good Lily." Lucas said to Lily.
"Lucas. This is a battle of the bands. Around here that means everyone is going to be watching. I don't want you to be made a laughing stock, for me." Olivia said to Lucas. "I appreciate the concern. But I can't just stand by and do nothing while that jerk is trying to force you to do things you don't want to." Lucas said to Olivia. "Lucas please allow us to help?" Asami asked Lucas. "Guys relax. I can handle Zane." Lucas said everyone. "If this was a Pokemon battle, we would have not worried. But this is a battle of the bands." Lily said to Lucas. "Guys trust me. Now come on let's get to the middle of the park." Lucas said to everyone as he started to walk, with everyone following him.
An hour later everyone in the park gathered around the main stage, waiting for the battle of the bands to start. With Lucas and everyone with him standing on the side of the stage. Then a woman, with white skin, black hair, blue eyes, wearing a leather jacket, leather jeans, and a microphone in her hands walked into the middle of the stage. "Hello everyone. As you know I'm Mila. and I will be the referee for this battle." The woman said to the crowd.
"Now before we start, let's go over the park rolls when it comes to this battle. Each band will play one song. The winner will be decided by how much you cheer for them after the battle is over." Mila said to the crowd. Making the crowd cheer. "Ok let's get this show started. First will be Zane and the Serpents." Mila said to the crowd as Zane and two guys with the same style of Zane, with one having a bass, and the other having some drums.
Then Zane started to sing a scream song making Team Avatar and many of the crowd cover their ears. After a few minutes of Zane screaming, Zane and his band smashed the interements before leaving the stage, with a decency cheer following him. "I get it now. Zane uses scream songs and breaks the interments so that his opponent has a much harder time to win. It's the strategy of a jerk, but it's effective." Zoey said to everyone.
"Lucas are you sure you can do this?" Korra asked Lucas. "Just watch me." Lucas said as he left the team. Soon Lucas got into the middle of the stage. Zane had a cocky smile on his face, thinking that he had won easily. Then Lucas let Rillaboom and Toxiricity out of their Pokeballs, surprising everyone. "Okay guys let's get this show on the road. Now lets show Zane that he isn't ready for me." Lucas said to Rillaboom and Toxiricity, as he grabbed the microphone with his left hand and had a cocky grin on his face. Then Rillaboom and Toxiricity started to make their sounds.
"You ain't ready. You ain't ready. You ain't ready. You ain't, you ain't ready for me." Lucas sang as he pointed his right hand at Zane. "A little bit of love. A little bit of grief. A little bit of pain and misery. A little bit of strife in life. I fight and I survive." Lucas sang as he punched his right hand into the crowd. "My back is getting pushed up against the wall." Lucas sang as he moved to the back of the stage. "I'm never giving up, I give my all, I'm never looking back, attack. No fear, it's in the past." Lucas sang as he pushed himself off the wall.
"Stand up, stand up, stand up." Lucas sang to the crowd. "You ain't ready for me." Lucas said as he pointed to Zane. "Give me your best shot, the stronger I stand. Not looking for sympathy." Lucas sang to Zane as he taunted Zane. "What doesn't kill me. Makes me who I am. A soldier fights 'til he's free. You ain't ready for me." Lucas sang as he turned away from Zane.
"You ain't ready (No). You ain't ready (No). You ain't ready (No)." Lucas sang, raising his right arm into the sky getting to crowd to join him, by saying no. "You ain't, you ain't ready for me." Lucas said as he turned to Zane again. "A little bit of hope, a little bit of hurt, a little bit of get what you deserve." Lucas sang as he turned to the crowd. "Dragging through the mud and blood. Get up, I've had enough." Lucas sang as he laid on his back and got up.
"Am I getting though?" Lucas sang as he pointed to the crowd. "Time to come alive. Do you wanna live before you die?" Lucas sang as he pointed from one side and moved his arm to the other side. "Hold on to your truth till you break through you'll never lose." Lucas said as he did a punching motion. "Stand up, stand up, stand up." Lucas said as he moved his arm up a few times. "You ain't ready for me." Lucas sang as he turned to Zane. "Give me your best shot, the stronger I stand. Not looking for sympathy." Lucas said flexing his muscles at Zane. "What doesn't kill me. Make me who I am. A soldier fights 'till he's free." Lucas sang as he placed a hand on his chest. "You ain't ready for me." Lucas sang as he turned away from Zane.
"You ain't ready (No). You ain't ready (No). You ain't ready (No)." Lucas sang, raising his right arm into the sky getting to crowd to join him, by saying no. "You ain't, you ain't ready for me." Lucas sang as he turned to Zane again. "Stand up. Stand up. Facing the lions. Stand up." Lucas sang to the crowd. "You ain't ready for, You ain't ready for." Lucas said pointing at Zane. "Stand up. Stand up. Facing the fire. Stand up." Lucas sang to the crowd. "You ain't ready for, You ain't ready for me, You ain't ready for me." Lucas said pointing at Zane.
"Give me your best shot, the stronger I stand. Not looking for sympathy." Lucas sang, waving a finger at Zane. "What doesn't kill me. Make me who I am a soldier fights 'till he's free. You ain't ready for me." Lucas said as he moved closer to Zane. "You ain't ready (No). You ain't ready (No). You ain't ready (No)." Lucas sang, raising his right arm into the sky getting to crowd to join him, by saying no. "You ain't you ain't ready for me." Lucas sang before dropping the mic and walking away, with Rillaboom and Toxiricity following him, and the crowd cheering, loader for Lucas, then for Zane.
When Lucas got back to his friends, everyone had a surprise look on their faces. "Man Lucas, I didn't know you could sing like that. '' Asami said to Lucas. "Yeah, shortly after I was made champion I was helping raise money for one of our towns called Spikemuth. And for one of the fundraising events I had to sing with Piers the former gym leader of the town and a popular singer in Galar. And since I didn't want to mess anything up. Piers taught me how to sing, and help Rillaboom and Toxiricity be my band." Lucas said to Asami.
"Out of curiosity why haven't you sang before?" Lily asked Lucas. "Cause I'm a battler not a singer. Don't get me wrong I know who to sing. I just prefer not to if I can help it." Lucas said to Lily. "Will the two bands come center of the stage." Mila said over the microphone. "Got to go guys. Come on Rillaboom and Toxiricity." Lucas said to everyone, as he, Rillaboom, and Toxiricity moved to the center of the stage.
"After both your performances, the winner is Lucas." Mila said to everyone, earning him a cheer from everyone. Well everyone except Zane, who had a shock look on his face. "What no way. He cheated. You can't use animals for a band." Zane said to Mila. "Actually you can. The rules of the battle of the band say that even an animal can be part of the band so long as it helps with the performance." Mila said to Zane. "But, but, but, he can't win this. This guy is too much of a loser for a pretty girl like Olivia." Zane said to Mila.
"The only loser here is you." Lucas said to Zane. "What did you say to me?" Zane asked Lucas. "You heard me. You only think about Olivia's looks. And she's more than that. She is a hard worker, loyal to the Air Nation, and is beautiful on both the inside and outside. Now as per our deal you said if you lose, you'll leave Olivia alone. So get lost." Lucas said to Zane. "No way the deals off." Zane said to Lucas. "Then I'll do what I should have done an hour ago. Rillaboom and Toxiricity use Boomburst and send this jerk flying." Lucas said to Zane, Rillaboom, and Toxiricity.
"Rillaboom/ Toxiricity!" Rillaboom and Toxiricity said before sending out large soundwaves sending Zane flying into the crowd. The crowd moved, letting Zane hit the ground. Zane then turned to Lucas who was still on the stage. "You'll never bother Olivia again. Now get out of my sight." Lucas said to Zane, with a serious look on his face. Zane then had a scared look on his face, and crawd away. Lucas then started to walk to the others, and returning Rillaboom and Toxiricity to their Pokeballs..
"Nice work Lucas, way to show that jerk who's boss." Korra said to Lucas, punching him arm. "Now that we dealt with the problem of the day, how about we get back to dancing." Lily said to everyone. "Yeah!" Everyone cheered. Then everyone started to move. But Olivia stopped Lucas before he could leave for the others. "Lucas I'd like to thank you for standing up to Zane for me." Olivia said to Lucas. "Of course what else would a knight in shining armor do for his princess." Lucas said to Olivia bowing to her.
This made Olivia blush a really bright red color. Then Lucas realised what he said and blushed a really bright red color too. Lucas and Oliva then shook their heads, trying to shake off the blushes, before they looked into each other's eyes. "We'll again, thank you. I go after the others." Olivia said to Lucas, before going after the rest of the group. "Okay, I'll be there in a minute." Lucas said to Olivia, as she left.
Lucas then moved to a wall of the stage, and leaned against it as he slipped down. "Why did I say that?" Lucas asked himself. "It's only going to make things worse for both of us." Lucas said to himself. "But it's not like you can't help it. After all, she's amazing." Lucas said to himself, cracking a smile. Lucas then shook his head. "No remember, you're from another planet, there is no way it would work out." Lucas said to himself.
"But maybe we can make some really good memories together." Lucas said to himself. "No, no, no! You have to be strong and push your feelings down. It will be better for both of us if we just stay as friends, before I have to go home." Lucas said, shaking his head a lot. "Okay, now let's just get up and have a good time with everyone, and ignore this feeling in my heart." Lucas said as he stood up.
Then as he started to leave he felt a pain in his chest. "This will be harder than I thought." Lucas said as he placed a hand on his chest. Lucas then lowered his hand and went after the others.
