Hello everyone, just finished the Darkness Falls chapter and started to work on the Light in the Dark. No idea how long it will take, but I'm getting it done, as fast as I can. Now one more side story before the end of season 2.

Now for this side story. I wanted to give Dakota some love, cause he hasn't been in a lot of the other Side Stories, so let's have this one be all about Dakota. Now onto Side Story 7.

Side Story 7

Dakota's Day

The South Pole

The sun broke into a small room, where Dakota and Nintales were sleeping. "Aaaaw. Morning Ninetales." Dakota said to Ninetales, as he yawned, got up, and pet Ninetales on the head. "Ninetales." Ninetales said to Dakota, before going back to sleep.

After getting dressed in a plain normal blue coat, he moved to the living room where Tonraq and Senna were having breakfast. "Morning Dakota." Senna said to Dakota. "Morning Senna." Dakota said to Senna, as he sat down and started to eat. "So what's your plan for the day?" Tonraq asked Dakota. "Oh I planned to help Isaiah with some deliveries today." Dakota said to Tonraq. "That's right, I heard their snowmobile broke down." Senna said to Dakota. "Yeah, so I'm going to help them for a couple days. While their snowmobile is getting fixed." Dakota said to Senna.

After finishing breakfast and cleaning up the discs, Dakota went outside and got a sled read. "Ninetales we're going." Dakota said, calling out for Ninetales. "Ninetales." Ninetales said as she came outside. Dakota then straps on a harness to Ninetales, and ties the harness to the sled. "You're ready?" Dakota asked Ninetales. "Ninetales." Ninetales said nodding her head yes. "Then let's go." Dakota said to Ninetales, as he got onto the back of the sled. "Ninetales." Ninetales said as she started to pull Dakota and the sled.

After Dakota and Ninetales left. They made their way to the dock. There a man with light brown skin, hazel eyes, wearing a common water tribe coat, and a hard hat, noticed Ninetales pulling the sled up to him with Dakota riding it.

"Ah Dakota morning." The man said to Dakota, waving his right arm, getting Dakota's attention. "Colton, morning. Dakota said to the man, getting off the sled and walking to the man. "So what are you here for today?" Colton asked Dakota. "I'm here to pick up a package for Isaiah." Dakota said to Colton.

Colton then picked up a clipboard, and read it. "Ah here it is." Colton said. "We've just finished unloading it from the ship. I'll go get it for you." Colton said to Dakota, before walking away. "Thanks Colton." Dakota said to Colton. "Well look who it is?" A male voice said to Dakota, from behind Dakota. 'Oh no.' Dakota thought, as he turned around to see Varrick and Zhu-Li.

"Varrick, morning." Dakota said to Varrick. "So have you given any more thought on selling Ninetales to me?" Varrick asked Dakota. "How many times do I have to say no. Ninetales is my Pokemon, and there's nothing I would trade her for." Dakota said to Varrick. "Come on Dakota. Ninetales is a one of a kind creature. And a beautiful creature, that's a bonus." Varrick said to Dakota. "Why do you even want Ninetales?" Dakota asked Varrick. "Cause she will make me, the talk of the business world." Varrick said to Dakota, as Colton came back with a medium size crate.

"Here's your package." Colton said to Dakota, passing the crate to Dakota. "Thanks Colton." Dakota said to Colton, as he took the crate. Colton then left to do his job. "Come on Dakota, think about it. I can get you anything you want. What do you say?" Varrick asked Dakota, as Dakota put the crate onto the sled and got on the back of the sled.

"Here's what I have to say. Ninetales use Dazzling Gleam." Dakota said to Varrick and Ninetales, and closed his eyes. "Ninetales." Ninetales said, as she started to glow a bright multi light, blinding Varrick and Zhu-Li. Ninetales took this chance to leave with Dakota and the Crate. Once Dakota and Ninetales were gone. Varrick and Zhu-Li regained their eyesight. They noticed Dakota and Ninetales were gone. "One day I will have a Pokemon of my own." Varrick said to no one.

Back with Dakota and Ninetales. After leaving the dock they went through the city and stopped In front of a small shop, with coats on display. "Attack." A male voice said, getting Dakota's attention.

Dakota turned his head to see three little kids coming out of the shop. They all had the same light brown skin and hazel eyes, all wearing similar, full body winter gear. The difference was the tallest one was a boy and the other two were girls that were the same height. The kids then started to throw snowballs at Dakota.

"Raiders! Ninetales we must protect the cargo." Dakota said to Ninetales, as he started to throw snowballs and dodge snowballs. "Ninetales." Ninetales said, as she used her tails to gently kick up snow, and made the snow hit the kids. Everyone laughed at the snowball fight.

As they all fought, a woman with light brown skin, hazel eyes, long black hair, average body, wearing a blue water tribe coat, walked out of the shop. "Jayden, Leilani, Amelia, that's enough." The woman said to the kids. "Ah ha. General Natalia, you've come to deal with these Raiders?" Dakota asked the woman. "Correct Private Dakota. I'll have these Raiders doing their chores." Natalia said to Dakota.

"But mom, we wanted to play with Dakota and Ninetales." The boy said to Natalia. "Jayden, Dakota and Ninetales have work to do, and so do you. So everyone, back inside." Natalia said to the boy. "Yes mom, come on Leilani and Amelia." Jayden said to the girls. The girls nodded yes, and they all entered the shop.

"Sorry about that Dakota." Natalia said to Dakota, as he picked up the crate. "No problem. Their kids, trying to have some fun. Here's the parts for your snowmobile you ordered." Dakota said to Natalia, as he passed her the crate. "Thanks. I'll let Isaiah know you're here." Natalia said to Dakota, before going into the shop.

A few minutes later. A man with light brown skin, stubby black hair, hazel eyes, wearing a blue water tribe coat, and carrying a few boxes. "Hello Dakota." The man said to Dakota. "Hey Isaiah." Dakota said to the man, as the man put the boxes on his sled. "So ready to make a few deliveries?" Isaiah asked Dakota. "Just tell me where to drop them off." Dakota said to Isaiah. "Here's the address. Come back here when you're done. I'll have the next round of deliveries ready when you get back." Isaiah said to Dakota, as Isaiah pulled out a paper and gave it to Dakota. "You got it." Dakota said to Isaiah, as he got on his sled. "See you later Isaiah. Let's go Ninetales." Dakota said to Isaiah and Ninetales. "Ninetales." Ninetales said as she started to pull the sled again. And Dakota and Ninetales were off to make some deliveries.

Dakota and Ninetales spent the rest of the day making, and it was sunset when they finished and made it back to the shop, where Isaiah was waiting outside for him. "Well Isaiah, that's the last of them." Dakota said to Isaiah. "No, there's one more." Isaiah said to Dakota, as he went inside and came back out with a large box. "And who's that for?" Dakota asked Isaiah "You." Isaiah said, handing Dakota the box. "Huh?" Dakota asked Isaiah. "Open it." Isaiah said to Dakota.

Dakota put the box on his sled, and opened it to see a new outfit. He pulled it out, to see It was all dark blue coat with a white crescent moon on the front, a hood with white fluff around it. "This is amazing." Dakota said to Isaiah. "Natalia and the kids work on it together." Isaiah said to Dakota. "I promise to take care of it." Dakota said to Isaiah, before putting the coat in the box and closing it. "See you later Dakota." Isaiah said to Dakota, as Dakota got onto his sled. "Tell the family, I see them around." Dakota said to Isaiah, before Ninetales started to pull the sled.

Later that night at Senna and Tonraq's home, after eating dinner, Dakota changed into the new coat. Dakota looked at himself in the mirror. "I like it." Dakota said to himself. Then Dakota started to leave. "I'm going out for a bit." Dakota said to Senna and Tonraq. "Don't be out too late." Senna said to Dakota. "Ninetales." Nintales said as she started to follow Dakota. "You stay here Ninetales. You've done enough for one day. Why don't you go to sleep." Dakota said to Ninetales. "Ninetales?" Ninetales asked Dakota. "Yes I'm sure. See you in the morning." Dakota said to Ninetales, before giving her some pets and leaving.

After walking for a bit Dakota stopped by the edge of the sea, and sat down, letting his legs dangle over the edge. There he just took in the sound of the waves crashing below him, thinking about Alola. That's when the moon came out from behind some clouds, showing Dakota that it's full. "Hey Lunala, I know you can't hear me. But I wanted to talk to you. It's been a while. I hope everything is going well in Alola. I hope everyone is happy. Me, I'm doing all right. Made myself at home here, even though it's freezing." Dakota said to the moon laughing a little.

"Got a girlfriend now. But I don't see her that much. But she's amazing. I think you'd like her." Dakota said to the moon, cracking a smile. "I'm a waterbender now. And it's fun. I've been practicing healing with the best waterbender in the world, and helping her in the healing hut. She saids in a few more years, I'll be just as good as her when it comes to healing." Dakota said to the moon before sighing. "Well it's time I get back." Dakota said, as he got up. "Have a goodnight Lunala." Dakota said to the moon, before he started walking. Then a gentle sound could be heard in the wind, making Dakota stop. "I miss you too Lunala." Dakota said to the moon, before he got back to walking.
