Hey everyone, sorry for the wait, I had many things to do, finishing one of Grace's biggest chapters, went on vacation, getting ready for school to start, and getting ready to move out of my current place.
Now you heard about the new stuff from Gen 9. And while I may add some pokemon from the games to the story. I won't do Terastal, at least not at the start, I have something special in mind for how and when they get it, but it won't be for a while.
So here's part 8.
Book Change Part 8
The Terror Within The Dark Type
Zaofu
In Zaofu Korra and Wing were practicing metalbending, at the same time Treecko and Ferrothorn were practicing battling. Wing fired two iron rocks at Korra, and Feerothorn fired needles from his spikes. Korra and Treecko dodged the attacks, and Korra metalbend a cable at Wing, at the same time Treecko ran at Ferrothorn at high speed.
Wing dodged Korra's attack, and stepped on it, stopping her. And Ferrothron took Treecko's attack, and forced Treecko back. Then Wing used Korra's cable to knock Korra off her feet, and one of Ferrothron tenciales glowed green, and he whipped Treecko back to Korra. When Treecko hit Korra, it caused Korra and Treecko to get rolled up in the caple.
Wing high five Ferrothron. "I can't believe I'm sparring with the Avatar and her Pokemon." Wing said. "I can't believe me and Excadrill are stuck with her friend and his Pokemon." Wei said, with an annoyed tune in his voice. "Excadrill." Excadrill said, agreeing with Wei, with an annoyed tune in his voice.
As Korra, Treecko, Wing, and Ferrothron got back to fighting, Wei, Excadrill, and Numel watched Bolin try to bend an iron rock. "Hang on, I think I got it." Bolin said, as he tired, only to drop the rock. "No? Okay, Maybe if I- Ow!" Bolin said, before getting it by two metal platforms. "Trial by fire! It's the best way to learn metalbending" Wei said to Bolin, before bending a rock at Bolin.
Then Asami, Mako, Zoey, Lucas, and their Pokemon came walking up, with all of Zoey and Lucas' pokemon out of their Pokeballs. As they did that, Bolin bend a small pebble and hit Wei right between the eyes, giving Wei a headache. "Oh, nice shot, Bolin. But I thought you were supposed to be practicing metalbending? Not earthbending" Mako asked Bolin.
"Yeah, cheater." Wei said to Bolin. "Mako, metalbending is extremely difficult. No one gets it right away, if they can get it at all! It's not normal!" Bolin said to Mako. "Tell that to Korra?" Zoey said to Bolin, pointing to Korra. Making Bolin noticed Korra bending the cable around Wing's leg, knocking Wing off his feet and retracting the cable.
"Whoo-hoo. Metalbending champion." Korra said, flexing her muscles. "Oh, sure. She's the Avatar." Bolin said to everyone. "Guys, it's time to get cleaned up. Tonight's Opal's farewell dinner." Asami said to everyone, making Bolin sigh. "Now I gotta say bye to Opal? This is the worst day ever!" Bolin said to everyone. "I can think of a couple days that have been a lot worse for us all." Lucas said to Bolin, before they all left.
In the dining room, Opal, her family, the gang, Varrick, Mason, and their Pokemon, with only Mason's Aggron out, were enjoying a big fancy veggie meal. "Thanks for making my favorite meal." Opal said to the chief. "I'm really going to miss you, Opal. no one appreciates my raw veggie wraps like you do." The chief said to Opal.
"Every time I eat raw kale, I'm gonna think of you." Bolin said to Opal. "You're so sweet." Opal said to Bolin. "This stinks. We were just starting to get to know each other and now you're off to the Northern Air Temple." Bolin said to Opal. "We'll be together soon. You guys are heading up after finding more airbenders, right?" Opal asked Bolin. "Yeah, but that's… in the future. Oh, I hate the future." Bolin said to Opal.
"Until then, we'll always have kale." Opal said to Bolin, sharing her food. Bolin and Opal looked at each other, as Bolin ate the food. "Kid, can I give you some relationship advice?" Varrick asked Bolin. "Um, no." Bolin said to Varrick. "Well, your loss. Zhu-Li! Bring the, uh, thing." Varrick said, snapping her fingers. That's when Zhu-Li and Klink appeared and gave Varrick a device.
"Check out my latest invention. An airbending finder." Varrick said to everyone. "Wait, that can find airbenders?" Korra asked Varrick. Asami took it and pointed it at Korra, but nothing happened. "Uh, I think it's broken." Asami said Varrickp passed the device back to Varrick.
"It's not broken. She needs to air-bend into it! Who else do you expect the thing to work?" Varrick asked Asami, taking the device. "Then it's worthless. If you need someone to airbending into it, to find out they're an airbender, then it's pointless." Lucas said to Varrick.
"What's going on? I can't hear anything. I hate sitting down here." Mako said. Then Zoey elbowed him in the side, making Mako notice Aiwei on his other side. "Not because of you." Mako said to Aiwei. "I can tell you're lying." Aiwei said to Mako. then Su tapped her glass.
"If I could have your attention, please. Tonight, my beautiful little girl leaves for the Northern Air Temple, with Skarmory. Opal, none of us could be more proud of you. You're an incredible daughter, sister, friend, and soon-to-be airbending master." Su said to Opal, before pulling Opal close to her, and giving Opal a kiss on the forehead. This made Wing and Wu tear up a little, and Huan was a little uncomfortable. "Here's to Opal. may she help lead us into a new era." Su said, as everyone raised their glass.
A few hours later, after the party was over, everyone watched Opal and Skarmory leave on an airship. "Lock it down for the night." the guard with the Scyther said over the radio. "We'll head out first thing in the morning." Lin said to everyone, before she and meowth left everyone.
Then everyone noticed Bolin with a sad look on his face. "Come on Bolin, you'll feel better in the morning." Lucas said to Bolin, as the lead Bolin inside, and as the domes went up.
Later that night. Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li were hiding in the shadow of Zafou, moving to Korra's room. But even though the guards didn't notice them, the Pokemon in the room with Mako, Bolin, and Lucas, and Pabu, heard something moving outside. "Kale, Kale, Kale." Bolin said in his sleep.
That's when Pabu and Pokemon noticed Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li outside. That's when they started to growl and make noise, quietly. But their noise did wake up the guys, with Mako annoyed by this. "What's going on? Pabu, Pokemon, sleep." Bolin said, as he tried to get back to sleep. Lucas got up, and walked to the Pokemon and Pabu. "What is it everyone?" Lucas asked them, placing his hands on Coalossal and Rillaboom.
With Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li, they reached Korra's window. There Ming-Hua cut open a hole in. Then Ming-Hua got ready to throw four blow darts into the room. Naga and Treecko senses something and get up. That's when they noticed them, and roared, but that's when Ming-Hua threw the darts at them, knocking them out. But Korra then woke up, and noticed them. Korra tried to attack them, but Zaheer shot a dart into her right leg. Korra tried to fight it, but she soon passed out.
Then Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li took Korra, with Korra over Ghazan's shoulder, and left. As they left, Lucas, Pabu, and the Pokemon noticed them leaving. "HEY!" Lucas said, as the Pokemon broke through the wall and went after. This surprised Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li, but they kept running.
This woke up Bolin and Mako, and they saw Lucas and the Pokemon trying to get Korra back. "They got Korra! They've got Korra!" Bolin said, as he and Mako ran out the fort door and joined Lucas and the Pokemon. "LET HER GO!" Mako said, as he fired a fire blast and Lucas and Bolin fired some boulders at Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li. But P'li blocked the fire, and Ming-Hua smashed the rocks.
Then Ming-Hua fired a water burst at them, but Mako used his fire to turn it into steam. Then Zaheer, Ming-Hua, and P'li all fired attacks. "Rillaboom, Toxtricity use Boomburst!" Lucas said to Rillaboom and Toxricity. "RILLABOOM/ TOXRICITY!" They roared, firing a sonic burst, pushing back Zaheer, Ming-Hua, and P'li attacks.
But the Boombursts also got the attention of the guards and the Pokemon standing guard. "They've got Korra." Mako said to the guards and Pokemon. This made the Pokemon roar, making more Pokemon show up, the alarm sound, and the guards turn some searchlights and focus on Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li.
"So much for the element of surprise." Ming-Hua said to everyone. "We wouldn't have this problem if not for those Pokemon." P'li said to everyone. "Backup plan." Ghazan asked everyone. Then P'li fired two combustion blasts destroying the searchlights.
Then P'li fired a combustion blast at the guys, but Coalossal moved in front and took the hit for them. It didn't do much to him, and made him glow red. Then in a flash, Coalossal moved to Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li, and rammed his right hand into P'li's gut, making P'li gasp for air and sent flying back. Coalossal then tried to attack Zaheer, Ming-Hua, and Ghazan, and get Korra back, but Zaheer, Ming-Hua, and Ghazan, used their bending to jump back into the air and moved to P'li.
Then Asami, Zoey, and their Pokémon ran up to the guys. "We can't let them take her." Mako said to everyone. "I don't think they're going to get far." Asami said to Mako, as they noticed the guards and Pokemon surrounding Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li. But even with their bending, Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li were outnumbered, and were getting overwhelmed, as they tried to run, they were stopped by metal plates.
Then Lin, Su, Wing, Wai, and Mason showed up with their Pokemon, and only Mason's Aggron out, and everyone but Mason used their metalbending to trap Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li in a quick made cage made out of metal plates.
Then the female guard, Scyther, more guards, and more Steel type Pokemon formed a circle around the cage, with the Pokemon growling and roaring at the cage. "We have you surrounded. It's over." the female guard said to Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li.
But then the ground started to turn into lava. This caused everyone to fall back. Then the cage met a little, revealing Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li, with Korra on the ground, and Ghazan was the one making the lava. "No way! That guys lavabending that awesome…" Bolin said, but stopped when he noticed Zoey's mean look. "-Ly good for us." Bolin said.
"So we're facing a telekinetic waterbending, a lavabender, a combustion bender, and a crazy airbender. And here I thought Amon was a crazy bender." Zoey said to everyone. "Coalossal use Rock Slide!" Lucas said to Coalossal. "Coalossal." Coalossal said, as rocks fell around, some landed in the lava, and others landed around the lava, giving them cover. In one of the covers, Lin, Mako, Bolin, Asami, Lucas, Zoey, Mason, and their Pokemon took it, and everyone else scattered around. Then everyone started to fight.
During the battle Korra was drowsy, and could barely move. But she was conscious. "I'm going to create some cover. We're getting out of here." Zaheer said to everyone, as he started to spin his staff around, try to make a tornado of smoke around the,
"I don't think so." Lucas said, as he plantbend a vine around Zaheer's wrist. Then Lucas pulled Zaheer to their side of the lava pool. Ghazan tried to hit Lucas with some lava, but a guard used a metal plate to block it.
After landing on their side of the lava pool, Zaheer used his airbending to cut free of the vine, and used his airbending to dodge and forge some guards that were charging at him.
But then Vanilluxe fired a light blue beam, freezing the ground Zaheer was about to land on. This made Zaheer fall to the ground, and dropped his staff. Zaheer got up and tried to reach for his staff, but a vine came up and grabbed his staff. Then the vine whipped back, and that's when Zaheer noticed Zoey holding his staff. "You're not flying away." Zoey said, as she lit the staff on fire, and tossed it into the lava, completely destroying it.
"We'll take care of Zaheer. The rest of you get Korra. Orbeetle, Dragapult, Volcarona, help them." Lucas said, as he, Zoey, and the rest of their Pokemon started to fight Zaheer, with Zoey and Lucas having vines whips out.
"Why do they get the easy fight?" Mason asked, as P'li fired an combustion blast at their cover making an explosion. "Is this kind of thing normal?" Mason asked as he covered his head. "Pretty much." Asami said to Mason. Then P'li fired another combustion blast, and caused one of the rocks to break.
The rock was about to crush Mason, but one of his Pokeballs opened up. From it a creature on thick round four legs, a very thick body with a row of small white silver spikes on the back, it's head a giant thick metal planc, with the bottom having four spikes, upper part having three spicks with two large silver spikes on the corners, four sliver bumps that curve over its mouth, a large nose that was the end of a big bump, two metal spikes attached to the nose like it was a piercing, yellow eyes under the piercing, and two symbols above its eyes, and those symbols looked like squares with a curve top and the inside was yellow and outside was black.
The creature blocked the rock, and forced the rock into the lava."Thanks Bastiodon." Mason said to the creature. "What is that?" Bolin asked Mason. This is Bastiodon. Bastiodon is the Shield Pokemon. A Steel and Rock Type. The bones of its face are huge and hard, so they were mistaken for its spine until after this Pokemon was successfully restored." Mason said to Bolin. "Restored?" Bolin asked Mason, wondering what he meant.
Then P'li fired a combustion blast again, and it hit Bastiodon in the face. But Bastiodon didn't move. He just shook off the attack like it was nothing. "Bastiodon." Bastiodon said, as he made rock fall from the sky. Then everyone started to fire attacks at Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li, josing the rock slide. But Zaheer, Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li used their bending to block the attacks.
Then P'li did a curved combustion blast, aiming for the gang. But that's when Su, Wei, and Wing blocked the attack with a metal plate. "How did they get in here?" Lin asked Su, as Su, her sons, and their Pokemon joined in their cover. Then P'li hit their cover with another combustion blast.
"I don't know, but we're not letting them escape." Su said to Lin. "The problem isn't them escaping. It's us getting Korra back." Mason said, as they all saw the fighting, and how they couldn't get close to Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li. Not even the Pokemon could get close to them. The reason is, Ghazan made the lava burst up like a geyser.
"There's no way to cross that moat." Asami said to everyone, as Su looked at the top of the dome. "We don't need to cross it. Lin and I can drop in from the dome on cables." Su said to everyone. "That's a great idea. Except we'll get blown up the second that third-eyed freak sees us." Lin said to Su, as another combustion blast hit their cover.
"Like Zoey said. She's a combustion bender. If one of you can stun her, her powers will be knocked out temporarily." Su said to everyone. "Stun her? Easier said than done. According to some of the books I read, the only way that will work is if you hit them in the third eye. We need a bullseye." Mason said to Su.
"Bolin can land a shot." Mako said to Mason. "I can?" Bolin asked. "You have to take her out right before we drop down." Su said to Bolin, before she, Lin, Wei, Wing and their Pokemon left. "I do?" Bolin asked.
A few minutes later Su, Lin, Wei, Wing and their Pokemon, were on the top of the dome. "Open the hatch." Wing said, over the radio. Then when a hatch over the battle opened. "If we get in trouble, metalbend us up." Su said to Wei and Wing. "Meowth, Bronzor, stay here. This is going to be difficult." Lin said to Meowth and Bronzor. The two nodded yes.
"We're in position." Wei said over the radio. "Copy that." Mako said over the radio. "It's Bolin time." Mako said to Bolin, as a combustion blast hit their cover. "All right. Bolin time Bolin time!" Bolin said, before he fired a rock at P'li, as everyone else fired attacks to try and hide the rock. but P'li dodged the attack and she, Ming-Hua, and Ghazan, fired attacks at them.
"I can't get a clean shot!" Bolin said, as they moved back into cover. "You have to!" Mako said to Bolin. "Are we a go?" Wing asked over the radio. "No go." Mako said to Wing over the radio. "Copy that. We're a go." Wing said over the radio. "I said no! Wait!" Mako said over the radio.
But Mako's message didn't go through and Lin and Su jumped. Mason noticed them. "Bolin, you have to make the shot. I'll distract them." Mason said, as he stood up. "HEY LOSERS! I BET YOU CAN'T HIT ME!" Mason said, as he started to run, getting Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li attention, and having them attack him. But Mason metlabend a few metal plates, blocking their attacks.
Then he made the metal plates spine like a saw, and threw them at Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li. They got down, dodging the metal plates. "I THOUGHT YOU THREE WHERE SOMETHING IMPRESSIVE!" Mason said to Ming-Hua, Ghazan, and P'li, as he started to run again, annoying them.
As they got up, P'li noticed Lin and Su coming down. "Bolin, take the shot!" Mako said to Bolin, as he and the Pokemon fired attacks, giving him some cover fire. P'li got ready to fire, and Bolin took his first, firing a small pebble at P'li. The pebble flew at P'li, and hit her right in the third eye, right as P'li was about to fire her combustion blast. This caused P'li combustion blast to explode right above her face, hitting her, Ghazan, and Ming-Hua.
This made Mako laugh. "Nice job, little bro." Mako said to Bolin, as Lin and Su landed on the ground and grabbed Korra. As Ghazan got up, Su used her earthbending to knock him back to the ground. Then Su and Lin move back up with Korra in Lin's arms. Ming-Hua then tried to stop Lin with her water tentacles, but a fire blast from Mako and Dragapult's Dreepys hit Ming-Hua chest and broke her water tentacle, freeing Lin.
With Lucas, Zoey, and their Pokemon, they were still facing Zaheer. But Zaheer's fancy footwork made it hard to grab or hit him. And Zaheer tried to fire air guests at them, but Golurk and Coalossal blocked those attacks, and were unaffected by the wind.
Then Zaheer noticed Lin carrying Korra away, and forgot about the battle. At that moment, Zoey and Lucas were able to wrap some vines around Zaheer's angles. Then they started to spin, pulling Zaheer into the air, and making him move in a circle. "Golurk, batter up with Hammer Arm." Zoey said to Golurk, as she and Lucas threw Zaheer at Golurk.
"Golurk!" Golurk said, as he slammed his right hand into Zaheer. This caused Zaheer to crash into the ground like a stone hopping across water, and like that stone, Zaheer skipped a few times, the last time over the lava moat. But Zaheer used his airbending to get to the side with his friends and avoided getting burned by the lava.
Then as his friends got up, Zahher fell to his knees tired. P'li helped him up. "We failed!" Zaheer said, as he forced P'li off him. And being angry, Zaheer made the smoke tornado and he and his friends used it to escape.
When the smoke cleared they were gone. "Where did they go?" Lin asked Su from the top of the dome. "They can't be far." Su said to Lin. "Guards, search the entire estate." Su said over the radio.
A few hours later, the gang, Lin, Su, Mason, and their Pokemon were in Su's office, with Korra and Treecko laying on one of the couches, with Aiwei and Mason treating them. "This should neutralize the shirashu toxins." Aiwei said, as he and Mason made Korra and Treecko drink something. It slowly started to work on them.
"How could you let this happen? You assured me this was one of the most secure places in the world." Lin said to Su. "It is. I don't know how this happened. Obviously this was a well-planned operation, so don't blame me." Su said to Lin.
That's when the female guard and her Scyther walked into the room. "We searched the entire estate. But there's no sign of them." the female guard said to everyone. "Well, keep looking!" Lin said to the female guard. The female guard and the Scyther then bow and left the room.
"It would seem they had some inside knowledge of Zaofu. They must have been working with someone." Aiwei said to everyone, raising a flag for Zoey. Then Korra and Treecko got up. "The- the guards. It had to be one of them." Korra said to everyone, placing a hand on her head, Teecko doing the same thing,
"I agree." Aiwei said to everyone. "Question them all! whoever betrayed my city will suffer the consequences!" Su said to Aiwei, before leaving. "I guess that temper comes from the mom side of the family." Lucas said quietly. But Lin heard him and gave him a mean look. "Heh heh. Sorry." Lucas said.
The next morning, Korra, Mako, Lin, Su, Zoey and their Pokemon watched as Aiwei questioned the guards, and they did this for a while, all the while Zoey looked at Aiwei, after a while, they tried Varrick, under Zoey's request. So Varrick was in the room, with Zhu-Li, Klink, and Pikachu standing behind him.
"What was I doing last night? Same thing I always do. From 9:00 to 10:00 I checked my body for ticks. Lyme disease is a serious killer. Then I did my nightly Varri-calisthenics with Pikachu followed by 30 of breath holding. I filmed the whole thing if you want to watch it." Varrick said to everyone. "That won't be necessary." Aiwei said to Varrick, as everyone gave Varrick a gross or annoyed look. Then Varrick, Zhu-Li, and their Pokemon left.
"Maybe it wasn't a guard after all. Maybe it was someone a little higher up the food chain. Aiwei, why don't you question Su?" Lin said to everyone, and asked Aiwei. "Lin, stop. Your sister wasn't involved." Korra said to Lin. "No, I'll gladly be questioned. I have nothing to hide." Su said to Korra, as she took a seat at the table.
Aiwei was hesitant at first but started to ask Su questions. "What is your full name?" Aiwei asked Su. "Suyin Beifong. I'm the daughter of Toph and the only sister to Lin, and I had nothing to do with the attack last night." Su said to Aiwei. "She is telling the truth." Aiwei said to Lin. "Argh! This is a waste of time. Just bring in the next guard." Korra said to everyone.
Then a young man, a few years older than Mako, Korra, and Zoey walked in. "Give me your name and tell me where you are from." Aiwei asked the young man. "I'm Hong-Li. I was born and raised here in Zaofu." The young man said to Aiwei. "Do you have any knowledge of the people who tried to kidnap the avatar?" Aiwei asked Hong-Li.
"No." Hong-Li said to Aiwei, making Aiwei look closely at Hong-Li. "Did you help the attackers enter Zaofu last night?" Aiwei asked Hong-Li. "No, of course not." Hong-Li said to Aiwei. "You're lying." Aiwei said to Hong-Li. "What? No, I'm not!" Hong-Li said to Aiwei, as Su walked to him. "How did they get in and out? Where are they now?" Su asked Hong-Li, slamming him into the wall.
"I don't know! I'm telling you, I didn't help them." Hong-Li said to Su. "You're a Traitor to the entire clan." Su said to Hong-Li. "I suggest we search his place." Aiwei said to everyone. Hong-Li looked confused, and Zoey noticed this.
A few minutes later, everyone was looking through Hong-Li's apartment. There Mako found a piece of paper on top of his desk. "I got something." Mako said to everyone. "What?" Bolin asked, with his mouth full of Hong-Li's food. "Bolin spit that out. It could be poison for all you know." Lucas said to Bolin, slapping the back of Bolin's head, making Bolin spit up the food.
"What'd you find Mako?" Zoey asked Mako, as they all walked to him. "It looks like it's from them. Team assembled. Ready to rendezvous." Mako said to everyone. "And look at this." Asami said, as she handed Aiwei a small book. Aiwai opened the book and looked at it. "These are the guards' log books. All their schedules and routes are in here." Aiwei said to everyone.
"That guard knows everything. We have to get him to talk." Korra said to everyone. "Let's go confront him with this evidence right now." Mako said to everyone. "No. Let's give him a little time to sweat it out. He will talk eventually." Aiwei said to everyone, before leaving, making not only Zoey feel odd about this, but Mako too.
Later, the gang was at the battlefield, and Naga and their Pokemon were trying to find a scent, with only Lucas' Orbeetle out of hif Pokemon trying to find something with his psychic powers, and Zoey's only Haxorus out of his Pokeball trying to find something.
"I don't understand why we're not talking to that guard right now. Every minute we waste here, those guys get further away." Mako said to everyone. "Maybe because that's what Aiwei wants." Zoey said, getting everyone's attention. "What do you mean?" Korra asked Zoey.
"Think about it. A random guard that's about our age, was born and grew up here in Zaofu, and works with four very dangerous crimales, criminals that have been behind bars for 13 years. It doesn't add up. Then there's Aiwei's actions. Not even a minute after they get away, he's telling everyone that someone had to let them in, without even looking around to see if they let themselves in. Then he doesn't want us to talk with the guard after finding these things in his apartment. It's very odd." Zoey said to everyone.
"I don't know, but we all saw the evidence. It's pretty overwhelming." Korra said to Zoey. "Maybe a little too overwhelming?" Varrick said, as he popped up from behind a metal plate, with some lava rocks in his hands. "Hey, Varrick. What are you doing here?" Bolin asked Varrick, as Zhu-Li, Pikachu, and Klink walked up, with Zhu-Li and Pikachu carrying some lava rocks.
"Collecting pumice stones with Zhu-Li and Pikachu. That lavabender did a lot of damage but he makes a nice exfoliating rock. And when you got calluses like mine, you take all the pumice stones you can get your hands on. Or in my case, feet!" Varrick said to everyone, chuckling, as Zhu-Li used a stone on his feet, grossing everyone else out.
"Can we get back on topic before we lose our lunch?" Lucas asked everyone. "Yeah, what were you saying about the evidence?" Mako asked Varrick. "I was saying that I can smell a conspiracy when I see one. And it sounds like Zoey can too. Look, if I was trying to set someone up, I would tell everyone he's guilty, and then plant the evidence in his apartment as proof." Varrick said to Mako.
"Oh. You mean exactly like what you did to me and Zoey." Mako asked Varrick. "Yes! Just like that. Remember how great that worked?" Varrick asked them, as Zoey held up a flame calw near his face. "Yep you remember." Varrick said to Zoey, laughing nervously.
"But you're right. All the evidence points to this guard, but maybe he's just the fall guy." Mako said to everyone. "The fall guy for Aiwei." Zoey said to everyone. "The only person who can truly keep a secret in this city." Mako said to everyone. "Now let's go talk to him." Zoey said to everyone, as they moved to his home, which was on the very edge of the city.
When they got there, they noticed Aiwei wasn't home. "He's not home or he's hiding in there. Or he's invisible." Bolin said to everyone. "Or you have an overactive imagination." Zoey said to Bolin, as she and Mako gave him a mean look. "Probably just not home." Bolin said. "We have to get in there and find some evidence. That links Aiwei to Zaheer, otherwise Su won't believe us." Mako said to everyone, before they sneaked into Aiwei's home.
Everyone then looked around. "It's just an empty book." Asami said, as she flipped through a book. Bolin then found a clay pot and picked it up. "Oh, it's like a desert on a jar." Bolin said, looking at the clay pot. "Bolin, put that back. We don't want Aiwei to know we were in here if we can't find anything." Mako said to Bolin.
But Bolin forgot where it was he took it from. "You forgot where it goes, didn't you?" Mako asked Bolin, taking the clay pot and putting it on the shelf, in the wrong spot. "Mako look at this." Zoey said, as she found some scuff marks on the floor. "Look at these scuff marks. I think this bookshelf slides open." Mako said to Zoey. "Let's find out." Zoey said, as she and Mako pulled the bookshelf to the side, revealing a secret staircase going down behind it.
Everyone moved to Mako, Zoey, and Bolin. "What do you think is down there?" Korra asked everyone, as they noticed a door at the bottom of the staircase "Could be a storage cellar." Bolin said to everyone. "Or it could be how Zaheer got in and out." Mako said to everyone. "Huh we're going to have to figure that out later." Lucas said to everyone, as he and Asami looked out the window. "Aiwei's coming back. Quick!" Asami said, as they got out of the tunnel, and closed the bookshelf.
Then Aiwei walked into his home and was surprised to see them. "What are you doing in my house? You are trespassing on the property of one of the highest-ranked officials in the city. You had better have a good explanation." Wiwei asked everyone, with a mad tune in his voice.
"We do, we do." Bolin said to Aiwei, before stepping in front of Bolin, stopping Bolin from talking. "We just wanted to talk to you. The door was unlocked, so we came in." Zoey said to Aiwei. Aiwei looked at Zoey confused. "Well you still shouldn't have come in." Aiwei said to Zoey.
"Sorry, but we had to talk to you about what happened last night. Something isn't adding up." Zoey said to Aiwei. "Sit. If you want to talk, let's talk over some tea." Aiwei said to everyone. They all took a set and Aiwei poured them some tea. "So, what is not adding up, exactly? Hong-Li was clearly lying, and we found evidence in his apartment." Aiwei asked everyone, when he was done pouring the tea.
"But don't you think it's weird how young he is? How did he ever get mixed up with this group?" Mako asked Aiwei. "Perhaps through a relative. Or maybe he was bribed. We will find out those answers in time." Aiwei said to everyone, as he walked to the bookshelf.
"But good possibilities, but something doesn't add up. Lin said, Zaheer and his team are some of the best crimels, working with a guard that was stuipd enough to leave the most important things laying around. That doesn't match up with someone Zaheer would work with. So maybe it wasn't him." Zoey said to Aiwei
"If that's the case, who do you think it was?" Aiwei asked Zoey. "We don't know." Asami said to Aiwei. "You don't think I had something to do with this, do you?" Aiwei asked everyone, as he moved the clay pot back into its true spot. "We're just looking for answers." Korra said to Aiwei.
"And you think you found something, don't you?" Aiwei asked, as he noticed the bookshelf moved. "I believe we found someone who was a champion of truth, becoming a liar for whatever reason that was not worth it, and will earn the wrath of Reshiram."
"You have no idea what is coming for you, Avatar. You and Arceus." Aiwei said, before metalbending a thick wall. Mako and Zoey fired a fire blast at the wall, but it had no effect. Korra then turned to metal bending the wall, but she didn't get threw it. "Come on! He's getting away!" Mako said to Korra. "I'm still a little new at this, so back off!" Korra said to Mako, before metalbending a tear in the metal wall.
Then everyone moved through the wall, and saw the bookshelf was moved. They went down the secret tunnel, and when Korra opened the door, only for her to see a barrel with a bomb on it. And it exploded right in their faces. The explosion was so big that it could be heard outside. Lucky Korra was able to make an air bubble around everyone, and they were okay.
Everyone got up and walked through the room, with their guard up. "He's gone." Mako said to everyone. Cashes are, he activated that bomb before balling, just in case we went after him." Zoey said to everyone. "Look. He must've escaped through there. Help me clear it out." Korra said to everyone, as she, Bolin, and Lucas, earthbend the rubble out of the way.
"What happened? We heard an explosion." Lin asked, as she, Su, Mason and their Pokemon, with it only being Mason's Aggron, came into the secret room. "Where is Aiwei?" Su asked everyone. "Your trusted advisor was the one who betrayed us. He was lying about the guard." Korra said to Lin. "What? No." Su said to everyone. "Considering that he just tried to kill us. I have to agree with Korra." Lucas said to Su.
"We confronted him and he bolted through here." Korra said to everyone. Then Lin made a seismic stomp and looked down the passageway. "He must have collapsed the tunnel behind him." Lin said to everyone. "And he rigged an explosion to destroy any evidence that might have been here." Mako said to everyone.
"This is where Zaheer got in and out. Aiwei was the traitor." Korra said to Su. "I… Trusted him." Su said to everyone, not wanting to believe it. Then the female guard and her Scyther came running in. "Is everyone okay?" The female guard asked everyone. "Aiwei is a fugitive. Get all available guards to search the mountainside. And find out where this tunnel exits immediately!" Lin said to the female guard. The female guard and Scyther then left. Once they were gone, Lin put a hand on Su's shoulder.
Later that day, everyone was in Su's office waiting for a report. That's when the female guard and Scyther ran into the room. "What did you find?" Lin asked the female guard. "We located the end of the tunnel, but there's no sign of him. Just some fresh tire tracks." The female guard to everyone. "Figure out where he could have gone." Zoey said to the female guard. The female guard bowed at them and left with Scyther.
"He had an escape plan all ready to go." Mako said to everyone. "My guess, if we haven't figured him out, he would have used this to fake his death and blame it on Hong-Li, making us waste our time and energy on Hong-Li instead of hunting him down." Zoey said to everyone.
"I trusted him with my life. I thought we were family, but it was all a lie." Su said to everyone, her head lowered in shame. "Whoever these guys are, they're more powerful than we thought. And more dangerous." Mako said to everyone. "What's bugging me is what Aiwei said about Arceus. These guys must have something big planned." Lucas said to everyone.
"That's why we have to find them. We're going to hold off on our search for airbenders and hunt down Aiwei. Naga can track his scent." Korra said to everyone. "And I bet if we find Aiwei we'll find Zaheer." Asami said to everyone. "No. We're not hunting this group. There could be other secret agents in other parts of the world looking for you right now. I'm taking you back to Republic city where I can protect you." Lin said to Korra.
"If I wasn't safe here, then I'm not safe anywhere." Korra said to Lin. "She's right. You alone can't protect her, and that city is too massive. It will be a lot easier for them to sneak into the city and attack Korra there than here." Zoey said to Lin. "I have to stop them." Korra said to Lin.
"It's too dangerous. You are not going!" Lin said to Korra. "Stop trying to protect me. I'm the Avatar. This is my job!" Korra said to Lin. "Don't lecture me about jobs!" Lin said to Korra. "Enough. Korra, listen to Lin." Su said to Korra. "But they-" Korra said to Su, but Su interrupted her. "Please. Lin's only looking out for you. I promise you Aiwei and everyone he's working with will be brought to justice." Su said to Korra.
"Fine. if you really think it's best." Korra said to Su. "I do." Su said to Korra. "Thank you, Su." Lin said to Su. "Everyone should get some rest tonight. I'll have my people prep your airship and you can leave first thing in the morning." Su said to everyone.
Then everyone went to their rooms, with Korra not liking this. Unable to sleep, the gang, minus Lin and Meowth, were awake, and hanging out in the living room of the building they were staying in. That's when they heard a knock on their door. They opened the door to see Su, Mason, Aggron, and Bronzor standing outside.
"Su." Korra said to Su. "You really think Naga could track Aiwei?" Su asked Korra, as she came in, making Korra back up. "Definitely." Korra said to Su, as Mason, Aggron, and Bronzor walked into the room. "Then here. There's a jeep packed with supplies by the east gate. It's all gassed up and ready to go." Su said to Korra, giving Korra a key.
"What? Why?" Korra asked Su. "Because I want you to hunt down Aiwei and bring him back to me. Mason is going with you." Su said to Korra. "But you said-" Bolin said to Su, but Su interrupted him. "I said what Lin wanted to hear, and I brought you guys some time." Su said to Bolin.
"But why is Mason joining us?" Lucas asked Su. "I'm coming along to deal with Aiwei's metalbending, plus I hung out a lot with Aiwei, so I know how he thinks." Mason said to everyone. "I'm sure he'll be a big help." Su said to everyone. "Well, I guess we could use all the help we can get." Zoey said to everyone. "Go, I'll deal with Lin in the morning." Su said to everyone. "Let's get this guy." Korra said to everyone. "Thanks." Korra said to Su, before huggin Su.
Then the gang left Zaofu, with Korra riding Naga with Treecko with her, Lucas riding Dragapult, Zoey riding Golurk, Mason riding Magnezone, and everyone else in the jeep.
