July 4th dear diary we spent today at a huge state 4th of July party. We were there as Clara was in a kids cook off, she came in 3rd over all and 1st in her age group. While she was doing this Elsie was at a nearby tent signing copies of her newest book. And Emily was at a meet and greet for Disney Princess junior. I won 1st in my age group for my crazy quilt and got reserve winner in the overall contest. We then all met up for a late lunch of junk food from various food stands. I liked most of it but deep fried Oreo cookies and Deep fried twinkies are just disgusting. We then rode a few rides before staking out the perfect fireworks spot. We ended up about 4 or 5 rows back, it was the perfect spot, a great view but not so loud. Signing off we just got to our hotel and it's after 1 in the morning.
July 6th dear diary we have all now seen all 50 state our nations capital and been to 4 countries. This is amazing at how young we are. We leave tomorrow to finish our European tour. I will write the first part of August.
August 10th dear diary we had so much fun on that vacation. We saw and did so many new things. One thing mom and I are now working on is the genealogy for my granddads side, we did grandmas a couple years ago. We have discovered that mom may have an older half brother and sister, born when my granddad served overseas with the army. We are currently chasing a lead on this. She also discovered her great granddad was adopted by his grandma so his mom was actually his grandmother we were shocked by this particular fact. He would have called his mom sis not mom. Holly crap is that crazy as can be. On this side we have discovered a link that most likely means we are related to Elanor Roosevelt and her husband and uncle who were both presidents. This is very interesting in my honest opinion as I am a huge history buff. I also learned my birth dad's family came from Ireland during something called the potato famine. I am heading to go shopping with mom tty in a day or so.
August 15th dear diary we start back to school tomorrow so today we I went and finished shopping for clothes and supplies I am taking a larger load this year as I am thinking of graduating at 17. I am at school from 7 to 7 this year instead of 8 to 5. The whole older gang has decided to use this schedule. This means I may only write every few days as I am in school 12 hours a day 4 days a week. Signing off till next time.
August 31st dear diary the school year has been amazing so far I love almost all my classes but geometry makes 0 sense to me. Thank God Zack can tutor me in it. I am helping him with a history class he must take as he has trouble remembering dates. I am glad we can help each other. The group is off the next 5 days as we are all heading on educational trips that go with our chosen areas of work. Mom is taking Emily and I to Pennsylvania so I can go to several quilting shops and see an Amish quilt shop. Susie is going to Paris with her sister, Zack is heading to see several woodworkers with his step dad. Rebecca is going with dad to see the NASA space center. I can't remember where the others are heading though. Signing off till the 10th as we get home on the 9th.
September 10th dear diary at 11:25 I turned 14 we are celebrating with a small party this weekend. Today we celebrated as a family. My biggest gift is a brand-new quilt frame like the ones I saw on my trip and a huge gift card for more fabric I am almost out. I also received some money from my portion of my French grandmother's estate. I will get so much a year until I'm 21. With this portion I used a quarter to buy a longarm quilt machine. Put half in savings and used the remaining quarter on several new tools. I am not allowed to disclose the amount each of my cousins and I get a year. But I will say it's a very large amount. I better sign off its time for Clara's special seafood sauce with riced broccoli and fresh seafood. She also made me a peanut butter cake with white chocolate butter cream.
September 15th dear diary today we had Susie and my combined friends party. We decided on a simple movie party this year as we are all very busy. From Zack I received a promise ring. It's a small silver band with an Eeyore that's made of Sapphires which is my birth stone. He must have saved for a very long time for this. What this means is we are engaged to be engaged at some point in the coming years. I am very happy about this and diary I am going to scream, HE KISSED ME ON THE LIPS YES, I GOT MY FIRST REAL KISS TONIGHT. This is so cool and crazy.
Mom and I had a discussion and I have signed a vow to never do certain things until I am married. This is important to me as it's a hard decision to make. Mom made this same choice when she was a year older than I am now when my dad became her future husband. They met at age 8 or 9 at his grandma's summer home. My paternal great grandma and her family stayed near here for many years. Another very crazy thing is that my now stepdad was my dads best friend from the time they were 6. Yes my mom has known my step dad since she was about the same age as she met my dad. And although I don't remember it he helped mom and I move here when I was 3. Signing off mom wants us to finish packing a few boxes we are moving to a larger piece of property a few miles from where we are.
September 30th dear diary we are now moved into the new house the old one is now occupied by Madeline and Ian. The rest of the gang has also moved near here. This is so that dad can actually work from home as he needs to be here to help Daniel and Ellen. They are both getting up there in years and need more help. Signing off till around the 10th.
October 11th dear diary we have been really busy with home and school stuff. We found out that both Ellen and Daniel have some major health challenges. They both have maybe 2 years left. This is sad for me as she has been in my life for as long as I can remember. She was there when mom had me as a late teen yes, my mom was a teen mom but who really cares. I only realized this earlier this year. She married my dad at 17. I was born when she was almost 18. This is a story I am only allowed to share here. Signing off till the 31st at the earliest.
October 31st dear diary we have been very busy doing work here at the new farm. We are finally settled in I am doing great at school as is everyone else. This has been a very crazy fall and late summer as so many things happened. We moved some of us started new schools and so many more things. I am signing off for the rest of the year as the next 2 months are full of stuff we need to do.
