The next morning, everyone sat around the table eating breakfast, Korra's head shoved into the newspaper. During the press conference yesterday, I was barraged with a ton of more questions, and it was soon revealed that Korra was my sister. The two of us made the front page of the newspaper, and we seemed to be the talk of the town. "And in the final round, the Buzzard Wasps won with a decisive knockout." Korra stated. "Why do you say we go the Arena tonight, catch a few Pro Bending Matches?" Korra asked. She looked up at Tenzin hopefully.
"That sport is a mockery of the noble tradition of Bending." Tenzin stated.
"Come on, Tenzin, I've dreamed about seeing a Pro Bending match since I was a kid. And now I'm just a ferry ride away from the Arena."
"Korra, you're not here to watch that drivel. You're here to support Yunoh as she finishes her Avatar training. So, for the time being, I want you to remain on the Island, both of you."
"Is that why you're keeping White Lotus Sentries around to watch our every move?" I glanced up from my meal to see that, yes indeed, Tenzin had increased security around Air Temple Island and there were White Lotus Sentries in every corner of the room.
"Yes. In order for Yunoh to master Airbending, I believe she requires a calm, quiet environment, free from any distractions."
"Yunoh?" Korra asked, turning to me. I almost choked on my meal.
"Tenzin is the only Airbending Master in the world." I reminded her softly. "It's his decision on how I train." Korra huffed and turned to gaze out the window. I followed her line of sight. I know she wanted to go, and I was curious as to how a Pro-Bending match was actually played, but for now, my purpose was here, on Air Temple Island, training.
TIMESKIP
Right after breakfast, Korra had been whisked away by Tenzin's children to go play, leaving me to deal with the Airbending Master. Tenzin had me changed into traditional Air Bending robes to train. He led me through one of the many walkways towards the area where I would begin my training. "So, my mother informed me that you're able to do some basic Air Bending techniques." Tenzin said as we walked. I nodded.
"I can, but not much." I informed him. "I can create a current, but other than that, nothing."
"That's perfectly alright, we just need to be patient. Often, the Element that's most difficult for the Avatar to master is the one most opposite to the Avatar's personality. For Aang, it was Earthbending."
"That's the thing, Tenzin, Firebending was the hardest for me to learn, it took me longer to learn it than Waterbending or Earthbending. Airbending should come naturally to me."
"Let's begin your first lesson." Tenzin stated. I followed the tattooed man up a set of stairs to a large set of gates, with his children and my sister standing behind them. Jinora was standing calmly between her two siblings, Ikki jumping up and down clapping her hands while Meelo was waving like a madman. Korra stood to the side, her arms crossed as she watched the three Airbending children with a fond smirk.
"Yunoh's gonna Airbend!" Ikki cheered. "Yunoh's gonna Airbend!"
"What are those?" I asked as we approached the gates.
"A time honoured tool that teaches the most fundamental aspect of Airbending." Tenzin explained. "Jinora, would you like to explain this exercise?"
"The goal is to weave your way through the gates and make it to the other side without touching them." Jinora explained.
"Seems easy enough." Korra commented.
"Jinora forgot to say you have to make it through while the gates are spinning." Ikki added.
"Wait what?" I wondered, my head snapping over to Tenzin as he got into an Airbending stance. He pushed compressed air away from his hands and towards the gates, causing them to spin rapidly. I tried to follow the gates but it only made me dizzy. Tenzin picked up a leaf and gently blew it towards the gates.
"The key is to be like the leaf." Tenzin started. "Flow with the movement of the gates. Jinora will demonstrate." Jinora nodded and gracefully lept into the gates. Her elbows tucked into her torso, her hands open as to feel the way the gates moved, her feet barely skimmed the ground as she danced through the wooden slats. "Airbending is all about spiral movements. When you meet resistance, you must be able to switch direction at a moment's notice." Jinora exited out the other side of the gates, before using her Airbending to hasten their movements once more. I gulped, my eyes wide.
"Ok." I breathed. "I can do this. Spiral movements Yunoh, spiral movements." I took a deep breath, and stepped forward. I got into position, and metaphorically, jumped right in. Using my prior knowledge of Waterbending, I slipped through the first set of slats. Closing my eyes, I allowed the Air Currents to dictate my movement. I felt one or two boards graze my arms, but I managed to make it out the other side with no injuries. I opened my eyes and a smile broke out onto my face when I realised I had done it. "Yes!" I cheered, jumping into the air. I jogged over to Korra with a wide grin. "Did you see that?" I said excitedly. "I did it!"
"Yeah, you did." Korra said, reaching up and ruffling my hair. I pouted up at her, fixing my bun. Despite her only being two inches taller than me, she loved to rub it in my face. "Mind if I have a have a turn?" Korra asked, turning to Tenzin. The taller man stored his beard for a moment.
"I don't see why not." He relented. Kora un-strung her water pouch from her hip and handed it to me before she turned to the gates.
"Let's do this." Korra then ran into the gates. She got knocked around before the wooden slats spat her out in front of us, on her butt. I cringed. Korra got to her feet, huffed, and ran back into the gates. She continued to get knocked around, hitting ever gate, some even more than once.
"Don't force your way through!" Jinora called to her.
"Dance! Dance like the wind!" Ikki encouraged.
"Be the leaf!" Meelo added. One more gate slammed into Korra's face, causing her to spin out of the contraption and land in front of us, beaten and bruised.
"Korra!" I exclaimed, racing forward. I un-corked her water pouch before Bending the water out of it. It shone a pale blue as I bent it over her wounds, healing them slowly. I sighed, Korra was out cold.
TIMESKIP
After some simple yet intense training the rest of the day, I retreated to my room after dinner. I had changed into my pyjamas, a simple pale blue nightgown. I was seated on my wooden bed as I wrote in the diary I had. It wasn't a diary for me, no, it was a diary for the next Avatar in the cycle. I knew that being the Avatar was a difficult job, having to keep the peace between both the Spirits and Humans, and not only that, the world they would be born into would be in complete disarray. My death, as untimely as it may be, would throw the world into chaos. Suddenly the Avatar is gone and the world must wait another sixteen years before realising who their next one was, who knows what the world would be once they came of age and started training.
You'll face many trails as the Avatar, not only for yourself, but for the world around you. The first hurdle you will face will be your training, mastering the Elements. One element will be the hardest for you to learn. I can only assume you're Earthbending is something to behold already. Avatar Aang struggled learning this element. As an Airbender, he always looked for a different solution to problems, trying to find another angle, evade and never facing anything head-on. This is most likely in stark contrast to your own way of Bending, facing head-on, no shortcuts. As the Avatar, you must learn how to adapt to change. I know it will be hard, but as the Avatar, we all have faith you can do it.
I sighed, closing the diary and setting it on my bedside table before Korra burst into my room. I yelped, jumping in my bed at my sister's sudden appearance. "What is it, Korra?" I hissed. "It's the middle of the night!"
"There's a radio on the island!" Korra said excitedly. A smile grew on my face.
"Really?" I asked, throwing off my covers.
"Yeah! Come on! They're doing a play-by-play of a Pro Bending match!" I quickly grabbed my robe, tugging it on as Korra lead me into the courtyard. We managed to find ourselves on top of one of the watchtower gazebo's, listening in on the radio from above.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm coming to you live from Republic City's Pro Bending arena, where tonight, the best in the world continue their quest for a spot in the upcoming championship tournament." The announcer called. "Grab your snacks and grab your kids, because this next match is gonna be a doozy…" Korra and I exchanged glances, this was gonna be good.
TIMESKIP
We'd been listening to the radio for the better part of an hour, silently cheering for the Fire Ferrets, the rookies of the tournament. There were three members, an Earthbender named Bolin, a Firebender named Mako and a Waterbender by the name of Hasook. "This Mako's got moxie. He advances, fires quick two shots, Yomo is hammered back into Zone Three." Korra and I started to get excited. "Clock is winding down, can Yomo hold on? He's tethering on the edge of the ring now. The Fire Ferrets line up to strike-" The radio cut out, and I let out a silent groan of disappointment, now we're never gonna know who won!
"Yunoh, Korra, come down here please." An angry voice called from bellow. I paled. Tenzin. I turned around in my seated position, gripping the edge of the roof as I slid down into the watchtower beside Korra to the surprise of the White Lotus sentries.
"You shut it off at the best part!" Korra complained.
"I thought I made myself clear. I don't want you listening to this distracting nonsense."
"But it's their radio. And technically, you said I couldn't watch a match, you didn't say anything about listening to one."
"You...you know what I meant. It's bad enough you're hooked on this, I don't want you dragging your sister into it. Anyway, shouldn't you..shouldn't you be in bed by now?" Tenzin then turned, and with a flick of his cape, sent a gust of air blowing my robe open slightly as he stalked off.

The next day, back in my Airbending robes, I was sitting cross-legged in a line with Jinora, Ikki and Meelo in front of Tenzin. The five of us were meditating, though Meelo's snores cut through the silence. I took a deep breath in, trying to connect with the Spirit World, but it wasn't happening. I sighed, slumping my shoulders. "I don't think I'm doing this right." I muttered.
"There's nothing to do." Tenzin reminded me. "Let your mind and spirit be free. For air is the element of freedom."
"Tenzin...I don't know how I could do the whole 'freedom' thing when I haven't been free my whole life. First the Training Compound in the Southern Water Tribe, and now the island?" I sighed, my gaze falling to the city. "How can I embrace freedom when I'm trapped."
"Please, Yunoh, look at Meelo, he's able to meditate peacefully." Tenzin gestured to his son. I glanced at the bald boy.
"Meelo's asleep." I informed him.
"What? Well, at least he has the relaxing part down." My gaze dropped to the floor, even a five-year-old could meditate better than I can. "Listen, Yunoh, these teachings will sink in overtime. Then, one day, they'll just click." I nodded reluctantly, returning to my meditative position.

That night, Korra met me in my room once more. "I'm going to the Pro Bending arena." She announced.
"And you're telling me this why?" I asked her, crossing my arms.
"I saw how excited you looked when we were listening to that game yesterday, don't you want to see a real match? We're just a five minute swim from the arena!" Korra put on a pout. "Please? Can we go?" Korra's eyes widened comically as she begged. There was a tense couple of seconds.
"Fine!" I relented, and a grin spread across Korra's face. "Just this once." Korra and I managed to sneak past the White Lotus sentries undetected, and reached the end of the Island with no problem. The two of us jumped into the water, Bending it up towards us so we didn't splash into the ocean. The two of us used our combined Bending to swiftly make our way to the Pro Bending arena. We reached the building in no time, and after a loop around the structure, we found an open window. We Bended the water to shoot us into the open window, and we landed delicately. We Bended the water off us and tried to find the entrance to the seating. We traversed the halls until we came across what seemed to be a gym. Korra was instantly intrigued, and strolled inside, admiring all the equipment. I followed her reluctantly, smiling at the awe on her face.
"Hey!" A voice shouted from behind us, causing us to turn to a man with a towel around his neck. "What are you two doing in my gym?" He demanded.
"Uh, we were just looking for a bathroom and we got lost." Korra tried to lie.
"Ah, the old 'i had to pee' excuse. You know, I'm sick and tired of you kids sneaking in without paying. I'm taking you to security!"
"There you are!" Another voice shouted. I looked and saw an Earthbender strolling up to us wearing what seemed to be a Pro Bending Uniform, with black hair and green eyes, with a green sash tied around his waist. "I've been looking everywhere for you guys! It's alright, Toza, they're with me."
"Yes!" I jumped in. "We're with him."
"So, you see, we're together."
"Not together-together though!" I insisted, waving my hands. "We're here as friends."
"Right, friends. No no, I didn't mean to imply-"
"Oh you implied it." Korra but in.
"I don't care what you are!" Toza said. "I got work to do. The man stalked away, throwing his towl to the floor.
"Right this way ladies." The boy gestured to the exit.
"Thank you sir." Korra said. We turned away from Toza, and she dropped her voice to a whisper. "Seriously, thanks." The three of us hurried out of the gym, and we followed the boy through the halls to we came to an inconspicuous door. He opened it, and Korra and I entered the room. Instantly, our eyes widened at the scene.
"Best seats in the house, huh?" The boy commented. That was the least he could say. We were in one of the prep areas for one of the teams, right behind the red team's platform.
"Oh wow!" I gasped, running up to the guard rails and looking over the arena. "This is so cool!"
"Unbelievable…" Korra muttered. "This place is even more amazing than I imagined."
"The name's Bolin by the way." The boy introduced.
"Korra."
"It's nice to meet you Bolin." I greeted. "Korra and I are a fan of your team."
"Why thank you." Bolin said.
"Psst! Bolin!" A voice hissed from behind us. We turned to see yet another boy in a Pro Bending uniform, with black hair, gold eyes and weird eyebrows. I turned my gaze back to the arena. It was a large platform, half was red and the other half was blue and was risen high above a large pool of water.
"Come here!" Bolin said, grabbing Korra's arm and dragging her over to the other boy. I followed reluctantly. "I want you to meet my brother, Mako." Korra and I shared a glance instantly recognising the name.
"Mako?" Korra questioned, offering her hand to shake. "Wow, we heard you play on the radio."
"Come on Bolin, we're up." Mako said, walking away and ignoring Korra's extended hand.
"Or we could meet him later."
"Yeah, sorry about that." Bolin apologised. "My brother just gets real focused before a match." Bolin put on his helmet. "Ok, I gotta go. Wish me luck, not that I'll need it." Bolin hurried to follow his two teammates to the extendable platforms that extended to the arena.
"Good luck out there everyone!" I cheered. "Knock them out!" Kora and I were pressed up against the guard rails as we observed. A man rose from the centre ring on the arena,
"Introducing the Fire Ferrets!" He announced.
"The rookie ferrets came from out of nowhere and have made it further than anyone expected this season." The radio beside us said. "But tonight, they face their toughest test yet folks." Korra and I watched as the Fire Ferrets were being pushed back. Bolin and Hasook were pushed back into Zone Two, and then Mako joined them, allowing the Tigerdilllo's to push forward.
"Come on Ferrets!" Korra cheered. Hasook was quickly pushed back into Zone Three, and then knocked out. Mako and Bolin were pushed back into Zone Two, giving the Tigerdillo's the first round. Round two started, and instantly, all of the Fire Ferrets were pushed into Zone Two. It wasn't long until the last seconds where the Fire Ferrets were able to push back one more time and win the round. The last round started horribly. Hasook stumbled, crashing into Bolin. They went down and were unable to separate themselves with the Tigerdilo's Earthbender knocked them clean out of the ring. "Oh no."
"Go Mako!" I cheered, cupping my hands over my mouth to echo my voice. Mako was in the last zone, managing to dodge all the attacks. He was wearing them out, hoping to get the other team exhausted before going on the attack, and it worked. The Tigerdillo's were so tried they weren't able to survive Mako's barrage of attacks, and he managed to score a total knockout, winning the match. I have never seen any sort of Bending like that. The way that Bolin and Mako moved, it was nothing like I had learned from my Masters. Bolin was the first of the team to arrive back in the room.
"Wooh!" He cheered. "Yes! One more win and we're in the Championship Tournament! So, Korra, Yunoh, what do you think? Bolin's got some moves, huh?"
"I think that was amazing!" I exclaimed, my eyes wide.
"You did more harm than good out there." Mako's voice sounded as he and Hasook entered the room again. "You almost cost us the match."
"We won, didn't we?" Hasook asked.
"Barely."
"Get off my case pal, ugh!" Hassok threw his helmet to the floor and stalked out of the room.
"Useless."
"You guys were incredible out there." Korra said. "Especially you, Mister Hat Trick."
"Oh, you two are still here?" Mako muttered.
"Oh, you're still a jerk?"
"Listen, Bolin, all my life I've been surrounded by Bending, but the way you were moving today, you were so light on your feet!" I said excitedly. "I've never seen an Earthbender move like that! Is like this city has a whole different style of Bending that I've never seen before! I was wondering, do you think you'd be able to show me how you did that?"
"Absolutely." Bolin agreed.
"Right now?" Mako questioned. "Come on, Bolin."
"Just ignore him. Yeah, I could show you the basics. I'm just not sure how my Earthbending would translate to your Waterbending, but we'll figure it out."
"Oh no, it's ok, I'm an Earthbender." I told him.
"I'm sorry! No, no, I didn't mean to assume. 'Cause I...you know, I was just figuring...with your Water Tribe getup that you are a Water Tribe Gal."
"Nope, you're right there too." Korra but in. "She's a Waterbender, and a Firebender, and an Airbender."
"Mm...hmm...I'm very confused right now." Bolin admitted.
"She's the Avatar, and I'm an idiot." Mako realised.
"Both are scarily accurate." I said.
"No...way…" Bolin trailed off, his eyes wide as he gazed at me. He turned to his brother, pretending to whisper at him but I could clearly hear his awe. "The Avatar!" After the match, Mako and Bolin took us to the gym that we stumbled upon earlier. After getting over his original shock, Bolin seemed to be fine. He started out by wanting to see how I use the clay disks that the Pro Benders use. "Alright, let's see what you got." I nodded, getting into an Earthbending stance. I punched forward twice, sending two of the clay disks into a net on the far side of the room. "That was great! Good power. But, in a real match, you'd be a sitting Turtle Duck. Not so upright and flat-footed. Stay light on your toes, right up until the moment when you need to dig in and strike. Then, Pop! Pop!" Bolin demonstrated, sending two clay disks into the net in quick succession.
"Ok, light on toes, and be quick." I breathed, shaking myself out. "Just like Waterbending. I should be ok, considering I've only been a Master Waterbender for ten years." I bounced on the soles of my feet and sent two punches forward, one after the other, and sent the clay disks shooting into the net.
"Wow!" Nice adjustment." Bolin congratulated. "You're a natural at this."
"Not bad." Mako commented.
"What's it take to impress this guy?" Korra wondered, appearing at my side.
"What? I said 'not bad'."
"His opinion means nothing to me." I said to Korra. "I'm a Master in my own right, I don't need anyone else's opinion."
"You know what, it's getting late. I think I'm gonna turn in. You kids have fun." Mako strolled out of the gym. "Nice to meet you Korra, Avatar Yunoh."
"Please, don't call me that." I sighed.
"Yeah, it's been a real pleasure." Korra commented sarcastically.
"See you upstairs bro." Mako called behind him as he walked away.
"Upstairs?" Korra questioned. "You guys live here?"
"Yep." Bolin conformed. "In the attic. It's nothing fancy, but we have some great views. So, back to Bending, why don't you throw that combo one more time?" I nodded. finding my light Earthbending stance once more.

The next day, Korra insisted on trying the gates again, despite not even needing to. She continued to get knocked around like crazy. "Patience Korra!" Tenzin reminded her. I heard an angry shout, and the water from Korra's pouch shot out from beside me and into the gates. Almost instantly, the water became a whip and started to destroy the gates. My eyes widened as the boards gave away under the force of the water. Korra was standing in the middle of it all, panting heavily as the water fell. "That was a two-thousand-year-old historical treasure." Tenzin muttered. "What...what is wrong with you?"
"There's nothing wrong with me." Kora said to him. "I've been following exactly what Yunoh did to get through these gates, and you taught her. But nothing is sinking in! It hasn't clicked at all!"
"Korra, this isn't something you can force. If you joined in on Yunoh's sessions, and listened to me."
"I have been listening to you!" Korra shouted. "Yunoh shows me everything she does before she goes to bed, so it's like I've been with you the entire time. You know what I think? Maybe the problem isn't me, maybe the reason I haven't been able to go through he stupid gates is because you're a terrible teacher!" Korra then stalked off.
"Yeah! You're a terrible teacher daddy!" Meelo cheered, pointing at his father before running to the destroyed gates, kicking them around a little more. I looked at the ground, saddened by my sisters reluctance to even try.

"Hey, are you coming to the next match?" Korra asked me, opening the door to the stables where Naga and Nuki were staying.
"No." I told her, not turning to her as I gently brushed Nuki's back flank.
"What? Why? We promised we'd be there."
"You promised." I reminded her. "I didn't say such a thing. I'm not going back into Republic City unless I absolutely have to."
"But I thought you loved learning from Bolin." I sighed stopping my brushing as I turned to my sister.
"Yeah, I did, learning a new bending form is always fun, but I'm disappointed in the way you acted today. Those gates are thousands of years old and you just destroyed them in a fit of rage. I'm not angering Tenzin any more than you have. You can go to the match, I won't join you." I put Nuki's brush aside, scratching her under the ears before I left the stable and a fuming Korra. I arrived at the dining room just as Pema set all the food down.
"Ok, everyone here?" She wondered. She then looked up, only to notice that I was the only tanned girl here. "Wait, where's Korra?" Pema turned to me as if I knew the answer.
"I don't know." I told her, crossing my arms. "And honestly, I don't care right now.
"Honestly Pema, I am at my witts end with that girl!" Tenzin admitted. "I-I don't know how to get through to her."
"Dear, the best thing you can do right now is to give her some space." Pema told her husband. Tenzin looked up at his daughters.
"You must promise me that your teenage years won't be like this."
"I will make no such promises." Jinora stated.

I joined Tenzin later that night to try and find Korra. We decided to try one of the watchtowers to see if they had spotted her. "Pardon me, everyone, have you seen Korra this evening?" Tenzin asked. "She's not in her room." The White Lotus Sentries were gathered around their radio, listening to the Pro Bending match.
"You've gotta be kidding me!" The radio announcer shouted. "She's the Avatar's Sister folks! Playing in a Pro Bending match!" One of the guars spat out their drink. I paled, looking up at Tenzin. He started to go red.
"I'll get her myself!" With a flick of his cape, he started to stalk away. "Yunoh! Come with me!" I turned on my heel and scurried after him. Korra was in so much trouble. Tenzin and I mounted Oogi, and soon we were soaring through the air towards the Pro Bending arena. After landing at the front gates, an attendant showed us towards the landing at the bottom of the arena. We watched as Korra flew off the end, and into the water below. She swam over to us, and she paled when she saw Tenzin glaring down at her. I was behind him, watching silently.
"Oh...hey Tenzin…" Korra trailed off. "I thought you didn't like coming to these matches." Korra pulled herself out of the water. She was dressed in the Fire Ferrets uniform. She was indeed their new member.
"Once again, you have flagrantly disobeyed my orders. You were to stay on the island. Let's go."
"No. I'm kind of in the middle of something."
"I have tried my very best to get through to you by being gentle and patient, but clearly the only thing you respond to is force. So I am ordering you to come back tot he temple right now!"
"Why? So I can sit around and do nothing? Day in and day out, all you're doing is teaching Yuoh while you stick me on babysitting duty!"
"What? That is a ludicrous accusation. The Avatar needs to learn Airbending, she can't be distracted by little kids every time she tries."
"No! Just because Yunoh's the Avatar doesn't mean I want to be second to her every day of my life. I'm not just the Avatar's sister here, I'm a member of a team that values me without being in her shadow all the time! I hate being her sister!" My eyes widened, and I took a step back. "Now, if you don't mind, I have a match to finish." Korra turned and stalked away, walking onto the platform that rose to send her back to the arena. Tenzin turned and walked away, while I gazed up at Korra for a moment.
"Yunoh." Tenzin called. I hung my head and followed him out.
"You wait for Korra." I said to him, crossing my arms. "I'll meet you back on Air Temple Island, I...I need some time to myself." Tenzin sighed.
"Very well. Be careful."
"I will." I gave Tenzin a small smile before walking out of the arena. I ignored the droves of fans that were unable to get into the arena, and slipped through the bodies out into the street. I wandered through the almost deserted streets until I came across the restaurant district of the city. I smiled at the smells that enveloped my nose. I gazed around in awe at the different cuisines that lined the streets. Unfortunately, I didn't realise where I was going, and I was accidentally bumped into and fell backwards. I landed on my but, and skidded back slightly. "Oww…" I complained.
"Oh my spirits, I am so sorry!" Someone gasped. I looked up, and froze. I was staring into the most mesmerising pair of green eyes I had ever seen. They belonged to a gorgeous, dark-haired girl who was dressed in a sharp black jacket, a maroon skirt, red tights and black boots. "Are you ok?" The woman asked.
"Um." I cleared my throat. "Yeah, I'm ok." The woman offered her hand down to me. I reached up and grasped it tightly, letting the woman pull me up. "Are you ok?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah, I'm ok." The woman eyed me. "You look familiar...have I seen you somewhere?"
"Oh, maybe." My cheeks flushed. The woman gasped.
"My spirits! You're the Avatar! I am so sorry!" The woman started to freak out. "I knocked over the Avatar! What does that say about me?"
"It's ok!" I assured, waving my hands. "It's ok! No harm no foul."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Oh, wow." The girl pushed a lock of hair behind her ear. "I should probably introduce myself." The woman offered me her hand. "Asami Sato."
"I'm Yunoh." I greeted, clasping our hands together. "But you already knew that." Her name then clicked. "Oh, your father is Hiroshi Sato, right? The inventor of the Satomobile!"
"Yeah that's him." Asami looked away. "He gets a lot of the credit."
"Oh wow!" I gasped. "Does that mean you're the one behind all his ideas? I'm sure with him as a father you'd be a genius!"
"Yeah!" Asami seemed to perk up at that. "Dad lets me help out with designs." I blinked when a water droplet landed on my nose. Looking up, I saw that clouds had descended onto Republic City. It wasn't long before it started to rain. The few people that were around were racing to shelter, but I had a better idea. I got into a Waterbending stance, and waving my hands, I managed to stop the rain above mine and Asami's heads. "Oh wow! You're pretty good.
"I learned from the best." I told her, focusing on keeping us dry. "Katara is surprisingly powerful, even in her old age."
"Why don't we head into one of these restaurants and wait out the rain." Asami suggested. I nodded. "How about...there." Asami pointed to a restaurant just across the road. I nodded again, and with Asami pressing close to me, we slowly made our way through the rain. We made it across the road with no issues, and once we got undercover, I allowed the water to return to the road. "Come on, I've heard great things about this place."
"Lead the way." Together, Asami and I entered the restaurant.
"Welcome Miss Sato." The host greeted, bowing. "Table for two?"
"Yes please." Asami requested. The host took out two menus and lead us to one of the booths. We sat down and continued to talk. We talked about everything and nothing, getting to know each other. After having a hearty meal, sampling food from all of the four nations, and even trying a bit of fusion food. When we were finished, Asami paid. I was embarrassed that I didn't have enough money to pay, but she said it was fine. We exited the restaurant, and noticed the rain was gone.
"It was really nice talking with you Asami." I said, lacing my hands behind my back. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to pay. I promise, next time we have a meal, I'll pay."
"Don't worry." Asami insisted, waving her hand. "But it was really lovely talking to you too Avatar."
"Don't call me that, please." I sighed. "You're my friend, I don't want you to address me as my title. It puts everyone on edge."
"Yeah, no problem." I looked up at the sky.
"It's late, I should probably get back to Air Temple Island."
"That's a bit away from here, do you want me to take you to the docks?" Asami asked.
"No, it's ok, I can get there myself, but I hope to see you soon, Asami."
"Me too." Asami and I shared a hug. I smiled at her, and with a small wave, we went our separate ways.
TIMESKIP
I arrived on Air Temple Island late. I Bended the water up to deposit me onto the docs. I Bended the water off me, and squeezed out my hair as I approached the temple. Korra was sitting on the temple steps, waiting for someone. She looked up, and when she saw me, she stood. I paused, crossing my arms. "I'm sorry." Korra apologised. "I lashed out at Tenzin, and I lashed out at you too."
"You said you hated being my sister." I muttered. "I didn't ask to be the Avatar, or for Mum and Dad to take me in. But that was what the Spirits decided for us. We can't change what has happened, but we can control what we do with it." I clenched my fists. "Saying that you wish we weren't related hurt, ok? You…" I closed my eyes. "Saying that made me feel you wished that Dad hadn't saved me that day, as if my life now meant nothing to you."
"Yunoh, I love being your sister, I was just angry that I wasn't able to get that thing down. Airbending and Waterbending are so similar I thought that I'd be able to get it. But I was just frustrated that I couldn't." I was silent, "I'm sorry, Yunoh, I really am. I wish there was some way to repay you. I'll join in on your Airbending lessons with Tenzin if you want."
"You know you're gonna hate it." I admitted.
"I know." I smirked. "I don't like that face."
"I know." I skipped away from my sister, a grin plastered of my face. Oh yeah, this revenge is gonna be sweet.
