Chapter 27 Journey to Suna
Naruto greeted his team members with his usual bright smile as they gathered at the village gate. Seeing their determination and readiness, he felt a surge of pride. He took a moment to explain the mission and the journey ahead.
"Alright, team! Today, we're embarking on our C-rank mission to deliver an important scroll to Suna. Our objective is to get this scroll into the hands of the Kazekage himself. But the journey won't be easy, so we'll need to be prepared for whatever challenges come our way. Our first stop will be in that village where I helped out a while back. We'll rest and resupply there before continuing on."
Naruto looked at each of his team members, his gaze filled with determination. "Our formation will be Hina in the front, followed by Shin, then Hanabi, and I'll bring up the rear. Hina, keep your senses sharp for any signs of trouble. Shin, be ready to provide support with your ninjutsu. Hanabi, stay focused and alert. And remember, the power of youth will guide us through this journey!"
With a final nod of reassurance, Naruto led the way as they set off on their mission. The road ahead was long, but he was confident that their teamwork and determination would see them through.
As they arrived at the village and were welcomed warmly, Naruto couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Seeing his team hold up well after the journey was a good sign, and the fact that they were provided with a comfortable place to stay was a relief. About halfway through their journey, Hanabi's Byakugan alerted her to an approaching figure. Naruto noticed her sudden alertness and immediately went on high alert himself. He signaled for his team to stop and take a defensive stance, ready for any potential threat.
"Hanabi, what do you see?" Naruto asked in a hushed tone, his senses sharp and alert.
Hanabi's Byakugan allowed her to see with incredible clarity, and she responded, "There's someone approaching, about a hundred meters ahead. They're not acting aggressively, but they seem to be heading straight for us."
Naruto nodded and motioned for his team to stay vigilant. He kept his hand near his kunai pouch, ready to defend or react if needed. As the figure got closer, Naruto's keen eyes recognized them as a lone traveler.
As the stranger came into view, Naruto relaxed slightly, though he maintained a cautious stance. He raised a hand in greeting as he called out, "Hey there! We're just passing through. No trouble intended."
The traveler, a middle-aged man with a friendly demeanor, approached with a smile. "No worries, young shinobi. I'm just a wanderer myself. Name's Takeshi."
Naruto introduced himself and his team, and Takeshi explained that he was a merchant who traveled between villages, selling various goods. He had heard about the protection offered by Konoha ninja and felt reassured by their presence.
Naruto's suspicions eased as he engaged in a friendly conversation with Takeshi. He learned about the man's travels and experiences, and he shared some stories from his own journeys as well. As they talked, Naruto was reminded of the importance of understanding and empathy, even in the midst of caution.
After a while, Takeshi bid them farewell and continued on his way. Naruto watched him until he was out of sight before turning to his team. "Remember, team, not everyone we encounter is an enemy. But always stay alert and ready to respond if things take a turn."

Temari stepped forward, her expression serious but not hostile. "Naruto, I didn't expect to run into you out here. What brings you and your team to this area?"
Naruto relaxed slightly, a small smile forming on his face. "Hey, Temari. We're on a mission to deliver an important scroll to the Kazekage in Suna. And you? What's your team doing out here?"
Temari gestured to her team, introducing them one by one. "These are my students: Kenji, Sora, and Mina." Each of them gave a nod in greeting.
Kenji, a young ninja with spiky hair and an air of determination, spoke up. "We're on a training mission to gain experience and work on our teamwork."
Naruto nodded in understanding. "Sounds like we're all out here for similar reasons. Well, it's good to see you, Temari. And it's always nice to meet fellow ninja from Suna."
Temari's expression softened into a small smile. "Likewise, Naruto. We might be from different villages, but we're all in this together."
As the two teams shared a brief exchange, Naruto's team observed their interactions. Hina, Shin, and Hanabi watched with curiosity, taking in the encounter between the Konoha and Suna ninja. As they approached the Kazekage's office, Naruto's pace quickened with excitement. He was eager to catch up with Gaara and share their success in delivering the important scroll.
Naruto entered the Kazekage's office with his team in tow, his energetic presence filling the room. Gaara looked up from his desk, his expression calm yet warm. "Naruto, it's good to see you again. And I see you've brought some company."
Naruto grinned and gestured to his team. "Yeah, these are my gennin team members: Hina, Shin, and Hanabi. We're here to deliver the scroll as requested."
Gaara's gaze shifted to the scroll in Naruto's hand, and he nodded in acknowledgment. "Thank you for your assistance, Naruto. I appreciate you taking care of this for us."
Just then, Naruto's eyes fell upon a familiar face seated nearby. Iruka stood there with a smile, his presence a pleasant surprise. "Iruka-sensei! What are you doing here?"
Iruka chuckled softly. "I came along as part of the diplomatic team from Konoha. It's good to see you again, Naruto."
Naruto approached Iruka with a grin, a sense of nostalgia washing over him. "Yeah, it's been a while. I guess we're both here on official business."
With a nod of agreement, Iruka turned his attention to Naruto's team. "And these must be your students. Nice to meet you all."
Hina, Shin, and Hanabi exchanged greetings with Iruka, feeling a mixture of excitement and respect in his presence. They had heard stories about Iruka from Naruto and knew he held a special place in their sensei's heart.
Naruto turned back to Gaara, a hint of pride in his voice. "Anyway, Gaara, I'm really proud of my team. They've been doing great, and I thought it would be a good experience for them to take on a mission outside of Konoha."
Gaara's gaze held a sense of understanding. "It's important for young ninja to gain experience beyond their home village. I'm glad they're getting that opportunity."
With a final nod, Naruto handed over the scroll to Gaara, completing their mission. "Here you go, Gaara. The scroll's all yours."
Gaara accepted the scroll with a small smile. "Thank you, Naruto. Your efforts are appreciated."
As Naruto's team exchanged a few more pleasantries with Gaara, the sense of accomplishment was evident on their faces. Hina, Shin, and Hanabi exchanged greetings with Mai, feeling at ease in her company. It was clear that both Iruka and Mai were genuinely happy to have them there.
As they gathered around the table for dinner, the conversation flowed effortlessly.
