During the brief passing period, Yang leaned onto her locker with a stack of papers in her grasp.

"Alright, here's an easy one. What does the pig head represent?"

Next to her, Weiss leaned on the lockers and crossed her arms. "The Lord of the Grimm. It represents the evil inside each one of the boys on the island."

Since the big literature test was coming up, the girls decided it would be wise to quiz each other right before class.

"Ding, ding, ding," Yang chimed. "Why're Sterling's glasses important?"

"The glasses enable Gray's group to light a signal fire for them to get rescued," Weiss answered confidently. "They represent the power of fire and bring comfort to the boys as a link to civilization."

"Couldn't have answered it better," Yang praised and thought of a much harder question to quiz her. "Why's Gray chosen to be chief?"

Like she was waiting to be asked, Weiss adorned a smug smirk and recited each word precisely.

"'There was a stillness about him as he sat that marked him out: his size, his attractive appearance, and most importantly, there was his conch. The being that had blown that, had sat waiting for them on the platform with the delicate thing balanced on his knees, was set apart.'"

When Weiss finished the quote, she sent her an adorable smile. From her reply, Yang's jaw dropped.

"Ugh... is that the exact quote?"

Weiss nodded, loving her priceless reaction. "I told you I liked it."

"Do you have a photographic memory or something?" Yang asked in awe.

"Only when I deem something important," Weiss revealed, which didn't happen often. "Why're you looking at me like that?"

A sly smirk slid onto Yang's face as her hand settled right next to Weiss' head on the locker. Slowly, Yang leaned in as her voice lowered flirtatiously.

"You gonna photograph this?"

A fierce blush tinted Weiss' cheeks when her breath ghosted on her face. It felt like steam rose from her head when Yang got so close, their lips mere centimeters apart.

"It- it doesn't work like that…" Weiss stammered, a blubbering mess from Yang's close presence.

Yang drank in her flushed expression. "You, ice princess, are way too cute."

Since Yang was leaning over her, Weiss closed her eyes and tilted her head up to enjoy a tiny kiss. Yang almost closed the small gap, but a low voice next to them yanked them out of their reverie.

"Um, excuse me?"

He said that in the most dramatic way possible.

"Oh, hey, Neptune," Yang greeted and pouted from her lack of contact with those sweet lips. "Sun."

Next to Neptune was the blond guy with a yellow tail. The boys looked at them in disbelief.

"When did this happen?!" Neptune exasperated, pointing between the two grinning girls.

Weiss adjusted the books in her grasp as she gazed at them, secretly amused by their reactions. Then again, this is what they get for public displays of affection. She should probably talk to Yang about that later.

Weiss suppressed a laugh. "Wouldn't you love to know?"

"I very much would!" Neptune replied. "Was it because of what I said?"

From the question, Sun elbowed him in the gut. This elicited a grunt.

"Dude, you gave her advice?" Sun asked, skeptical. "Why? You suck at that!"

Yang looked utterly confused and looked to her girlfriend for guidance. "What're they talkin' about?"

Neptune nodded in finality, pleased with himself. "It was totally because of me, wasn't it?" he put a hand up to his ear and leaned down closer to the short girl. "I'll wait to be thanked."

It was true that his earlier words helped confirm Yang's attraction to Weiss. However, the desire to wipe that overconfident smile on his face trumped all other thoughts.

With a smirk, Weiss gazed at Yang. "He did nothing."

Neptune put his hands over his heart and feigned hurt. "I'm hurt. I really am."

The group shared brief chuckles until an object was thrust into the air in the distance. It was the paper mache pig head on a stick and held up by an energetic Ruby.

There was a familiar, muffled voice that belonged to Ruby.

"Who wants bacon?!"

A few students chuckled from the display and eyeballed the project in curiosity. From her antics, Blake placed a hand on Ruby's shoulder. She had a poker face, but they could tell she was flustered from the sudden attention the pair received. Pouting, Ruby reluctantly lowered the pig head, which allowed some students to poke it.

Weiss playfully huffed from the sight. "Our project isn't even going to make it through the door."

"That's your project?" Sun asked and licked his lips. "Looks appetizing."

"We present today," Yang said and watched her sister jut it into the air again. "Unless she breaks it first."

When the bell rang, Weiss walked over to Ruby and grabbed her red hood to drag her away from the prying students.

"Come on, dolt."

Ruby yelped as Weiss dragged her away from the crowd. Simultaneously, Blake took the pig head from her and followed.

The girls slipped into their nearby classroom. The presentation passed without a hitch as each girl took turns explaining the slides. While Ms. Goodwitch typically adorned a poker face, she appeared immensely proud of the group with a slight smile.

Before anyone knew it, the bell rang to end class.

While everyone packed to leave, Blake lingered next to her friend. "Are you coming, Yang?"

"I did the crime, gotta do the time."

That's when Blake remembered she got detention.

"Ah, right," was all Blake said before she headed out the door. "I'll let the team know."

"Thanks!"

When everyone left the room, Yang was left behind with the teacher.

"That was a good presentation, Yang," Ms. Goodwitch praised. "Did you make the pig head?"

"We all did," the blonde answered and watched the teacher at her desk. "I actually read the book. It was pretty good. Messed up, but good."

Based on her tone, Ms. Goodwitch could tell she didn't initially intend to read it. Which wasn't too surprising. She was mostly glad that her student read the whole thing and even enjoyed it.

"I knew you'd like it. Does Ruby think that, too?"

"Yeah," the blonde confirmed. "She liked how they hunted."

"Of course she did."

In her seat, Yang emitted a bright aura. It was a dramatic change from the last time she was reprimanded in detention. She'd given up on herself. But now, it was like she was brighter than the sun. It reminded Glynda to check up on her.

"How was therapy?"

Casually, Yang leaned back in her seat and kept her smile. "It's not what I expected. I like Maria a lot. She knows her stuff."

"She's been in the field for… about thirty years now," Glynda informed, glad she picked that therapist.

"Wow," Yang breathed and smirked. "She's even more ancient than you."

"Watch it," Glynda warned lightheartedly and then adorned her own smirk. It was time to throw Yang off her tempo. "I've noticed you're close with a certain Ms. Snow."

From the unexpected comment, Yang abruptly became bashful and rubbed the back of her head, her cheeks rosy.

"Yeah…"

It'd been a while since Glynda had seen her like this. Like some lovestruck schoolgirl. Since her parents died, Yang didn't form any new meaningful relationships. So she was surprised, but thankful.

"Are you open to advice?" Glynda offered, adjusting the papers on her desk.

"What does the wise sage have in mind?" the blonde asked, curious as to what she would say. "Just don't make it weird like dad did."

"I would never," Ms. Goodwitch reassured and cleared her throat. "I know it seems like your new relationship is perfect now, but no relationship is perfect and there will inevitably be conflict. What matters is your desire to solve the problems together."

"Sound advice," Yang appreciated that. "I'll keep that in mind. Whenever a problem pops up."

When Glynda checked the clock on the wall, she said. "You may go to volleyball practice now."

"But there's fifteen minutes left."

Ms. Goodwitch used a mischievous, bargaining tone. "Let's see… it will take you fifteen minutes to get to the gym, change into your uniform, then join your team. So you should go now, don't you think?"

From her reasoning, Yang grabbed her backpack. "You really are the best."

I love how she had to do her time for punching Cardin and got to leave early LOL.

Stay dandy,
