"It's over here!"

Electrified from the sight of a giant sign, Weiss tugged on Yang's sleeve to drag her around the corner. After school, Weiss wanted to surprise her new girlfriend with something special.

From her reaction, a burst of happiness flew into Yang. "Where are you takin' me?!"

Her question made Weiss hide a goofy smile. "You don't recognize the street?"

Before Yang could map the area in her brain, a large sign was finally in view. Several minutes of being dragged around were completely worth it. In large, bold letters, the sign read:

Tanglewild Gardens

"Ah, no way!" Yang yelped in genuine shock. "I haven't been here yet! I've always wanted to, but things kept popping up."

Weiss felt extremely accomplished from the sincerity of her reaction. Internally, she thanked Ruby and Blake for telling her that Yang loves flowers. In the past, Weiss caught her staring at the enticing petals. Anyone could appreciate nature's beauty, but she didn't realize how deep that love bloomed.

She's so happy, Weiss noted. As long as she keeps smiling, this date will be a success.

"No more excuses," Weiss said as the couple approached the check-in area. "We are going to admire the flowers today and there's nothing you can say to change my mind."

When she huffed, Yang got the urge to throw her arms around her. "You can act salty all you want. I know under that cold, icy shell, there's a sweet ice princess waiting to be showered with kisses."

Nothing gets past her, Weiss thought. How does she know I want…

When Yang called her out, Weiss blushed and approached the check-in desk. She casually slid some currency over to the cashier.

"Two please."

Before the cashier could grab the cash, Yang put her hand on top of it to stop him. "Woah, woah. I didn't say you could pay."

How can she even think that? Weiss thought. When I think she can't get nicer.

"Yang, I invited you on this date," Weiss gave her a pointed look. It was a cross between a scowl and a playful expression, which made Yang sigh in defeat. "If it makes you feel better, you can pay for the next one."

"Ugh…" Yang mumbled like she was still considering other options. "Fine, master negotiator."

In finality, Weiss slid over the money to the cashier. When they grabbed their tickets, they headed to the entrance. They were greeted with flowers and leaves of colors of the rainbow as dozens of petals drifted in the breeze. The pleasant sight caused them to stare in awe at the magnificence.

"This place is nicer than I thought," Weiss breathed.

Rather than reply, Yang only gawked at the picturesque scene. It was like the perfect painting with swirls of pink, orange, and yellow. Only bright colors, which was lucky since it was almost autumn.

Together, the couple walked down the pathway and enjoyed the sweet aroma all around. The kind breeze that kissed their cheeks to welcome them.

"Woah…" Yang murmured, loving the sweet aroma. "This makes me wanna make a giant leaf pile and dive in."

While there was someone sweeping the path, fragile petals scattered along the walkway. Leaves continuously drifted to the ground.

"Perhaps you can make a pile when fall rolls around," Weiss suggested, knowing they couldn't do that here. "Do you usually have such childish thoughts?"

"Absolutely, I'll never grow up," Yang replied, not thrown off by the sass but instead relished in it. Before Weiss could retort, Yang darted a short distance away. "Oh my god, I love these!"

Where is she going now-

Lilac lilies were scattered atop this section of the garden. Jokingly, Yang aggressively inhaled the sweet scent and grinned ear-to-ear. Her reaction caused a laugh to slip past Weiss' lips.

I thought roses were her favorite? Or maybe that was Ruby?

Determined to see a brighter smile, Weiss picked up a vibrant lily that fell off the stem. It previously fluttered on the pathway, begging for a new purpose.

"Here," Weiss said as she delicately slipped the flower behind her ear. "It matches your eyes perfectly."

I think lilac might be my new favorite color.

They paused when they were mere inches apart as both girls flushed crimson. While Weiss was entranced by those shimmering lilac eyes, Yang floated in those pools of blue.

Gradually, Weiss stood on her tiptoes to kiss her on the lips. Sweet sugar lingered on Yang's lips after she licked them with an even deeper blush. Redder than the roses across from them.

Yang slightly adjusted the lily. "When did you become such a flirt?"

Shyly, Weiss looked away and stammered. "S-shut up. This is all very new to me."

"Could'a fooled me," the blonde sent her a mischievous wink.

She brings out a side of me I didn't even know existed, Weiss realized. All I care about is seeing her smile. How cheesy.

"Agh, I need a picture to remember this moment!" Yang beamed as she fumbled for her phone in her purse. "It's one of the moments your little shell cracked. You're sweeter than sugar sometimes, you know that?"

"I said shut up," Weiss said weakly. "I'm ruthless."

"As ruthless as a chinchilla," Yang teased.

If only you knew…

Slowly, Yang pulled an item out of her purse. That definitely wasn't her phone. In her hand, was the large pair of black sunglasses that gleamed under the sunlight.

"Please," Yang said and lifted the glasses, which earned a scowl.

"No," Weiss replied, knowing what she wanted her to do.

That thing covers half my face.

"Please," Yang asked.

Weiss scowled at the taller girl. "Yang. No."

"I don't think you understand," Yang began in a bargaining tone. "I need another dose of bug Weiss. I'm running on fumes here."

Weiss glared and heaved a sigh.

Why must she beg like a helpless puppy?

Yang flashed her irresistible puppy dog eyes. The second she used her secret weapon, Weiss knew she'd been defeated.

"One pic, that's it," Yang pleaded. "No one'll see it but me."

"Give me that."

Begrudgingly, Weiss swiped the sunglasses and put them over her eyes.

From the sight, Yang dramatically sank to her knees. "The power of bug Weiss… it's too much!"

Unamused, Weiss said. "I think you're too much."

Laughing, Yang stood and lifted her phone to snap a selfie together. In the background, red roses swayed in the wind. The blonde winked at the camera, while Weiss subtly smiled while gazing at Yang.

"We're the hottest couple," Yang said, giddily grinning at the image.

Weiss handed her the sunglasses. "Are you happy?"

"Ecstatic."

The littlest things make her smile, Weiss thought. She's in a much better place than she was a week ago.

A warm, bubbly feeling welled up deep in her belly. Part of the reason Yang was happy was because of her. Knowing that made Weiss feel like she didn't have any problems. Like nothing else mattered in this moment. When she was with Yang, she forgot her worries. If only for a little bit.

In the distance, there was a blonde and red flame.

"Hey," Weiss said to grab her attention. "Isn't that Jaune and Pyrrha?"

"Yeah," Yang said like she couldn't believe it. "I heard he was friend zoned?"

On cue, Pyrrha kissed him on the cheek. Jaune responded by wrapping an arm around her waist. They shared wide smiles as they discussed the sprouting plants in front of them.

Weiss sent her a sly smirk. "You need a different source. That boy is not in the friend zone."

"Good for him," Yang said proudly, overly happy for them. "Looks like talking him up for weeks at volleyball practice paid off."

"There must be something in the air," Weiss said, referring to them recently becoming a couple and now this new development.

Yang watched the yellow fluff drift from the trees. "It's gotta be the plant sperm."

From her casualness, Weiss thought she imagined what her girlfriend said. That ruined any other potential special moment they could've shared when Weiss was grossed out.

"Why must you be so brazen?" Weiss asked.

"It's in my nature," Yang replied like it was obvious, which earned a scowl. "Fine, it's pollen. Not plant sperm. Definitely not plant sperm. Pollen totally isn't plant sperm-"

"Stop saying plant sperm!" Weiss yelped in embarrassment, flushing crimson again.

From her reaction, Yang felt oddly accomplished and held her hand. "I can't believe I actually got you to say 'plant sperm.' That sounded nice from your lips. Then again, everything does."

A faint blush tinted her cheeks.

"Come on, let's not disturb them."

After squeezing her hand, Weiss dragged her in the other direction.

"Unlike the plant sperm."

Yang's comment caused Weiss to shoot daggers at her. But Yang only chuckled from the way her brows furrowed. The way her lips slightly tugged up since she wasn't truly annoyed, only feigning.

"Yang, I swear..."

After another hour, Yang opened the door to her apartment with Weiss in tow.

Since they propped it open quietly, two of the local residents didn't notice their arrival. On the couch, Blake wrapped an arm around Ruby, while Ruby rested her head on Blake's shoulder. The TV blared in front of them as they watched with contentment.

In shock, Yang and Weiss stared at the affectionate display with their jaws dropped. Briefly, Yang and Weiss shared a puzzled look. When they looked away, Yang cleared her throat to announce their presence.

Hastily, Ruby and Blake separated with loud yelps and a tangle of limbs.

"There's somethin' in the air all right!" Yang exclaimed, pleasantly surprised from this turn of events. "Spill the tea, what is this?!"

"I- ugh, we-" Ruby blubbered and flailed her hands. "We-"

While Ruby tried and failed to explain, Blake's ears lowered on top of her head. The last thing she wanted was for Yang to think they were hiding their relationship from her.

While Ruby mumbled gibberish, Blake answered for her..

"We might be a couple now."

From the news, Yang blurted. "Since when?!"

Based on her reaction, Blake now knew there was nothing to worry about. Yang wouldn't warp into a raging inferno, rather she was still the same sunny girl she normally was.

With permission, Blake nodded at Ruby.

Nervously, Ruby fiddled with her own fingers. "We may or may not… have… become official a few days ago…"

To express her extreme interest, Weiss stepped in front of them with her hands on her hips. Simultaneously, Ruby and Blake sank deep in the pillows.

"And when were you going to tell us?" Weiss asked in a lecturing tone.

"Next week," Blake answered instantly. "We were going to invite you to dinner, Weiss."

With confidence, Ruby stood. "It was going to be a grand occasion! But you'll have to settle for this…"

"Unbelievable," Weiss mumbled fondly.

After they explained themselves, Yang's eyebrows rose in suspicion. "Wait, Weiss and I got together only a few days ago, too. What's with the timing?"

"Well…" Ruby began, tapping her fingers together again. "When you guys got together, that kinda- sorta- gave me the courage to confess to Blake."

"Rubes!" Yang exclaimed in happiness. "I'm so proud of you! You're all grown up!"

"Yang, shut up!" Ruby whined in annoyance. "I wasn't going to let you steal my thunder!"

"And I couldn't be prouder!" Yang retorted with tears of happiness almost breaching her eyes.

"I couldn't hide my feelings for Blake any longer! That's all!"

"Did I mention how proud I am?!"

While they lightheartedly bickered, Blake and Weiss shared a familiar look and giggled.

Stay dandy,
