Chapter 3
Naruto walked toward the cave instead of just teleporting. As a god, he was immortal and must appreciate the little things if he didn't want to be in constant boredom. He had seen some of his friend to be trapped in this. So, it was walking for him, not that he didn't like it. Walking gave him ample time too to search and treat more knowledge about the forest. He arrived at a massive door after a moment.
The great door that prevents people to enter Veldora's domain was nothing to him. He didn't need to open it, just to faze through it.
Thanks to his Shooting star eyes, he didn't need to search the path in this cave. The only problem was the monsters in the cave. Because he was a higher being, the entity of this realm couldn't sense him and when they met him, they attacked immediately, thinking he was weak. He didn't care, a glare was enough to show them who was the strongest one. Monsters fled him after, leaving him walking peacefully.
As he continued to walk, he noticed the herbs and the ores scattered around the place. A quick scan with one of his Origin plates showed him there were Hipokute plants and Magiores. He stored this new information in his intern library before setting two parallel thoughts to analyze them deeper.
He continued again his walk until he saw something flying. Using his Shooting star eyes, he observed a small slime hitting a barrier containing his target. He watched the dragon interact with the slime, but he didn't hear any sound. He concluded they talked via telepathy, so he connected to their conversation enough to not be detected.
Veldora helped the slime to see and then explained who he was and how he was sealed. Naruto already knew the reason and he was still not impressed by Veldora. He would need serious discipline if Naruto recruited him. The slime impressed Naruto more honestly. Scanning the slime, Naruto eyed it with interest. After all, being a reincarnator in another world was no easy task. It required a strong soul to be able to travel through worlds when in soul form. Naruto concluded he could have a second recruit already.
He watched with amusement how embarrassed Veldora was with his friend's proposition and how the dragon looked like a puppy when the slime proposed his help.
Naruto scanned the slime deeper and saw the skills [Great sage] and [Predator], which interest him even more. He never had a champion with great wisdom, maybe this slime can be his champion in this world.
But as he predicted, the slime failed to break [Infinite Imprisonment]. It was normal, this skill put an infinite amount of Imaginary barriers. [Great sage] failed because of those two parameters, you need to calculate with imaginary numbers and infinite which the latter was impossible for now for the skill. When he heard the skill calculate the possibilities, Naruto acted.
He made his connection stronger to draw their attention. The slime flinched while Veldora was on his guard.
'Who's there,' yelled the dragon through telepathy!
Meanwhile, the slime, Satoru Mikami, a 37-year-old contractor who died and reincarnate into a slime, would sweat profusely if he could.
'What is this presence? It feels like I'm going to be judged by a god or something,' he said to himself.
[Warning: Detection of divine energy. Proceed with caution.] [Great sage] told him.
'Is it possible to know who he is, or he is dangerous,' asked the slime?
[Answer: Not possible. Gods are beyond the understanding of this realm's beings. Repeat: Proceed with absolute caution.] [Great sage] replied. It scared him even more.
'Whoa, even [Great sage] is cautious. Why am I set on impossible mode after my reincarnation? It's so unfair,' the slime said to himself!
As Naruto walked toward them, the tension increased. The slime became more scared while Veldora curled up as he could sense the divinity and powers of Naruto. When Naruto arrived before them, his presence shocked them.
The being before them was a tall, faired skin male with golden middle-back-long hair attached in a low ponytail, white eight-pointed-star irises with no pupil on the black sclera, a third eye with the same star but smaller, surrounded by rings with tomoe on an ever-changing colors background, four horns on top of his head, the middle being bigger. He wore a white kimono with embroidered golden vines showing his chest and abs, white hakama, and a beautiful haori that could only be worn by a god. Black-void plates encased in gold floated behind his back.
'Greetings Storm Dragon Veldora, Satoru Mikami…' His voice sent a shiver through their back. And how did he know their names? 'I'm Otsutsuki Naruto known as Oame-no-genten-no-kami and I'm here to give you a deal, Veldora,' said Naruto.
'A deal? What do you want from me? And why is a god from another world here?' asked Veldora. It got the slime's attention.
'K-kami-sama?' Mumbled the slime. Naruto sent his presence through telepathy to calm them. When they calmed enough, he continued.
'I'm here to remove a parasite from this world, my nemesis to be more correct,' Naruto said.
'Your nemesis? Parasite? Why?' asked the dragon.
'My pantheon is at war with our foe. Our side protects the different worlds from them while they only want to eat them.' They got another shiver. Is he serious? 'But they hide themselves from me and I can't act directly against them without them acting first and they meddle themselves with lower beings of this world.' Naruto paused a moment to let them digest the information. 'So, here is my deal. I will free from your prison for two conditions.'
'What are they,' Vedora said quickly flattening his head against the barrier? Why wouldn't he? This god would give him freedom if he fulfilled those conditions.
'First, I will send you to one of my dimensions to train. While you have impressive raw power, it is unpolished like a child.' An arrow pierced Veldora's chest. 'The second condition is you name this young man,' Naruto said. A silence fell on them.
'Is that all?' said Veldora.
'Yes…,' said Naruto.
'Then I accept! I was ready to still name the slime, so it is easy to do. And if get stronger, it is all benefit for me, GUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!' said Veldora, laughing loudly.
'I see. Then, I let you the scene,' said Naruto. That is how Veldora became Tempest Veldora, and the slime became Tempest Rimuru. Rimuru glowed for a moment when his name had been etched in his soul.
'Now that is out of the way, I will free you,' said Naruto walking toward the barrier before touching it. His irises glowed while his presence manifested, and stones floated around him showing the world the power he held so effortlessly. His divine glow intensified; each plate separated a little from itself like a mechanism ready to be used. The inner circle began to rotate before accelerating while the outer circle glowed with complex fuuinjutsu. He connected his power to the void between each barrier and calculated the structure of a sample of barriers. Only after ten seconds…
CRASH!
…the [Infinite Imprisonment] broke as easily as glass, in thousands of pieces. The two others were shocked by this development, but Veldora quickly changed to happy, smiling widely.
Naruto opened rapidly a portal behind the dragon, not wanting him to blow his plan by flexing his power.
'Now, your side of the bargain. I will come sometimes to see your progress and instruct you on your training,' said Naruto. Veldora nodded still smiling widely.
'Don't worry Naruto-dono, I will apply myself seriously. I will become so strong your enemy will fear me! HAHHAHAHA!' Laughed loudly Veldora. Naruto smiled softly.
'I see, I then count on you, Veldora,' said Naruto.
'Of course, Naruto-dono,' said Vedora before crossing the portal! The portal closed itself behind him. Naruto then turned toward Rimuru.
'Now, your turn young Rimuru, 'said Naruto calmly. Rimuru flinched.
'W-what do you mean, Naruto-sama,' asked Rimuru?
'I will be honest. I took an interest in you, Rimuru,' Naruto said still calm. It took Rimuru's attention, making a head-tilting movement with his body.
'An interest? But I'm just a slime, you know? I'm not that interesting,' said the slime, a little depressed.
'This is where you are wrong. While our meeting was short, it showed me you are friendly and possessed wisdom. It's the reason I asked Veldora to name you. While we will exit, I will observe how you will use your new power. Impress me, and great rewards will await you,' said Naruto smiling at the end. Rimuru made an impression of wide eyes before nodding rapidly.
'I will! I will show you how strong Rimuru Tempest is,' said a determined slime. Naruto chuckled softly.
'Then, let's go,' said Naruto moving to where he came from with the slime following him.
The two traveled the path with Rimuru swallowing the rest of Hipokute herbs and Magiores while Naruto was observing. They continued with Naruto lagging behind Rimuru to prevent his presence from scaring the monsters. After only five minutes, Naruto saw Rimuru encounter a Black snake.
'WAAAAAAAAA! What is that?!' Rimuru yelled while making an absurd shocked face. Naruto sweatdropped at his reaction.
[Notice: A Tempest snake, an A- Disaster rank. The strongest monster you could find in Veldora's cave.] Rimuru sweatdropped before turning, looking at Naruto who still observed him. He faced quickly again the snake.
'No, I can't be afraid. I need to impress Naruto-sama,' said Rimuru in determination.
The snake launched at the slime with an opened maw, but…
'Water blade!' The snake was quickly cut in the neck by pressure water. The head fell next to Rimuru, making his eyes wide open. Meanwhile, Naruto raised a delicate eyebrow.
'A clean cut to the neck. He is someone that don't want to hurt people. And the fact he didn't want to fight before means he never saw the dark side of his previous life,' thought Naruto. Then Rimuru ate the snake gaining his skills: [Sense heat source] and [Poisonous breath] and [Mimic: Tempest snake].
'Bleargh! I don't have a taste sensation but still bleargh,' said Rimuru. Naruto chuckled softly to himself.
They continued their walk, encountering other monsters like the Armorsaurus, which Rimuru melted with [Poisonous breath] when mimicking the Tempest snake. He directly sealed the skill when seeing the result.
'He is clearly someone that will always take the talking path. I hope he will not coward from battles, when necessary,' thought Naruto. Rimuru ate the melted monster, gaining the skill [Body Armor]. He gained the skills [Paralysis breath] and [Mimic: Armorsaurus] from the Evil centipede, [Sticky thread] and [Steel thread] and [Mimic: Black spider] from the Black spider, and [Drain] and [Supersonic wave] and [Mimic: Giant bat] from the Giant bat. Rimuru learned how to speak with [Supersonic wave] thanks to the vocal cord of the Giant bat.
They arrived at the door, Naruto still observing, to see how Rimuru will handle this problem. He didn't need to do anything, as the door opened itself. Rimuru hid behind a rock while staid where he was. If he would like to not be seen by others, then others will not be able to see him. Only he could give others permission to see him.
Three humans crossed the door, two men and one woman. The first man had dirty blonde hair, and brown eyes, and wore a black vest revealing a medieval yellow shirt, a shoulder armor on his right shoulder, a brown kilt with fur on the hem over pants, black knee-long sockets with fur in brown medieval shoes and a sword on his back. The other man had brown hair with a red bandana, brown eyes, and a goatee, and wore a leather sleeveless vest over a green polo, a white sash on his waist under a brown belt, gray pants attached to his chin with bandage and brown shoes. The only female had blonde hair with a blue ribbon, and emerald eyes with red marking under them and wore a red shirt under a white corset, a brown belt, a pink skirt, and dark mid-thigh length boots.
"Geez, this door's lock was so rusty, I was afraid it will not open," said the brown-haired man.
"It's normal, it's been three hundred years that nobody came to this cave. I'm surprised it didn't fall at all," said the other man.
"Right now, I'm more afraid to be ambushed by monsters. We could always use [Escape] in the worst case," said the woman.
"Don't worry, with my stealth art, no monsters will detect us. Come near me, and I will activate it," said the first man. He then pushed his hand again each other. The three became invisible to others but you could still see their footprints. When they passed Naruto, Rimuru quickly exited the cave with Naruto following him.
'We're finally outside,' exclaimed Rimuru! Naruto nodded at him.
'Yes, we're outside,' said Naruto. 'I've made my conclusion, but I need you to answer this question.' Rimuru looked confused, raising an invisible eyebrow at the god.
'What is it, Naruto-sama,' asked Rimuru? Naruto looked at Rimuru with a serious face, making him feel small.
'What is your ideal, Rimuru,' asked Naruto? The question was simple but was deep and hold so much importance. Rimuru thought deeply. For him, his ideal was a world where nobody needed to fight, only peaceful talk and enjoyment together. Yes, this was his ideal. Rimuru nodded to himself.
'My ideal is to stop fights and bring peace in this world. Instead of fighting each other, they should help each other, so nobody would be miserable and enjoy a good life with friends,' said Rimuru. Naruto's eyes widen a little before softening. Rimuru's words hit a chord in Naruto.
This was a dream shared by every peacemaker he knew. The first Hokage, his sensei Jiraya, himself, and even Madara. Everybody wanted peace. But ideals were selfish. Even the vision of peace was different for each person. And this difference brought tension, fights, and war. If Rimuru wanted to bring peace, he will need to fight for it. He was innocent and naïve, but Naruto had been the same before. Rimuru had potential and if he was determined to do it then Naruto had his answer.
'Quite innocent and naïve you are,' said Naruto. An imaginary heavy rock fell on Rimuru. 'But you have potential. It brings me to my last question.' Rimuru looked at Naruto, hoping he will not question his ideal. 'What will you do against evil?' Rimuru raised again an eyebrow. 'Even if you're the best orator in the world, there will be beings that will refuse your ideal and will eliminate you for their own. Beings that are thirsty for domination and destruction.' Rimuru's eyes widen. He didn't think about that. Now he was sad, thinking that no matter how he will be kind and appreciable, they will be some that will want to create chaos. He knew that his dream was naïve, but he really wanted it to become true. If he needed to fight for it, then he will do his best. He will show the world that his dream wasn't naïve. He looked at Naruto with determination.
'Then I will fight. I will show the world that my dream is not childish,' exclaimed Rimuru! Naruto smiled softly at him.
'Then, I made my decision,' said Naruto, releasing his presence. Rimuru flinched. Is it bad for him? 'Listen [Voice of the world]. I, Otsutsuki Naruto, declare the individual Rimuru Tempest as my champion. He has my blessing.' Rimuru began to glow white.
[Understood. Individual Rimuru has been bestowed the title [Champion of Oame-no-genten-no-kami]. Notice: The following skills have been acquired: [Calm mind], [Truth Seeker] and [Magic resistance].]
After the announcement of [Voice of the world], Rimuru stopped glowing, blinking dumbly. Only after one minute and a half Rimuru's mind rebooted.
'I-is it a dream,' asked Rimuru? Naruto chuckled softly at his reaction and shook at him.
'This is not a dream Rimuru. Now come. My shrine is next to here,' said Naruto, walking in the direction of his shrine. Rimuru shook his body before following Naruto.
This was what Naruto planned to do, going to his shrine and explaining Rimuru's new duties while he continued to search for his nemesis. But Naruto was not omniscient. He was maybe the god of supreme wisdom, but he can't know if he didn't actively search the data. Because of that, he didn't think about the next event.
A group of monsters blocked their path. They were little, green, and wore scrappy and rusty gears that could be found on the road by adventurers that lost them. Naruto raised an eyebrow at them, watching their shock and fear.
'Is that goblins? They look more friendly than what I imagined,' said Rimuru. Naruto chuckled.
'Never let appearance deceives you, Rimuru. Now, as my champion, you will represent me. So, you need to practice to engage conversations,' said Naruto. Rimuru looked at Naruto.
'You want me to practice with those goblins,' asked Rimuru? Naruto nodded at him and Rimuru nodded back. 'Alright.'
"Strong ones, do you have business here," the goblin with the red bandana in the middle asked. He seemed to be the leader of the group.
"HELLO, I'M THE SLIME TEMPEST RIMURU. IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU!" yelled Rimuru. His shout was so strong that it blasted the goblins with powerful wind. The goblins blocked their ears while enduring the wind.
"You don't need to shout! We know how powerful you are," the goblins' leader said!
"Oh sorry…" Rimuru said in a weaker voice. He felt ashamed that he blundered his first discussion like that. But he needed to come back on the good track. "As I said, I'm the slime Tempest Rimuru. Nice to meet you." The slime then pointed at Naruto. "And this is my god, Otsutsuki Naruto."
The goblins froze in shock, and their gears fell from their hands. Until fear came back stronger, their faces paling. They kneeled on the ground, heads touching the floor.
"We're sorry to be this rude to you, Naruto-sama, Rimuru-sama," the leader said. Rimuru was confused while Naruto sighed while shaking his head. Naruto gestured to Rimuru to continue.
"So, do you need something from us," asked Rimuru?
"Behind me is our village. Sorry for our rudeness but we beg you to come to hear a favor," the goblin's leader said. Naruto continued to watch while Rimuru raised an eyebrow.
"A favor," asked Rimuru?
"Yes. Again, we beg you," exclaimed the leader of the goblins. Rimuru turned toward Naruto, seeing him contemplating their words. The tension was high, the goblins waited for their answer in hope and fear while Rimuru wondered what his god will do. If he was alone, he will accept, not be able to refuse. But this time, he was with his god, so he can't do things recklessly.
After thirty seconds, feeling like an eternity, Naruto answered.
"We accept," he said. His voice sent shivers down the goblins' back while Rimuru was only surprised by it.
'Am I getting used to his voice,' thought Rimuru to himself?
"Now rise and lead the way to your village," said Naruto. The goblins didn't wait for a second to rise. They were all standing like military now.
"Yes, this way, Naruto-sama, Rimuru-sama," the leader said. The group then led our heroes to their village.
The first thing Rimuru saw was how small and worn out the village was. Naruto was not surprised as it was a village of goblins. The houses looked more like huts with woods and leaves. The only 'house' in this village was the elder's one. Naruto and Rimuru were led to this house. Entering, Naruto must stoop, sitting in seiza while waiting. Rimuru didn't have this problem.
Only two minutes later, an old goblin entered the house with the red bandana goblin.
'Father and son,' thought Naruto. The elder walked in front of them.
"I'm sorry to have you wait, Naruto-sama, Rimuru-sama. I'm the elder of this village," said the old goblin, kneeling.
"Oh, don't worry we didn't wait long," said Rimuru. Naruto nodded.
"Thank you for forgiveness. I heard you here to hear our request," said the elder bowing deeply.
"Yes, what is this favor you want," asked Rimuru? The elder stood straight still kneeling.
"Have you heard of the agitation of the forest," asked the elder? Rimuru had a confused look while Naruto remained neutral, wanting to listen.
"Well, we didn't hear anything. What happened," asked Rimuru? The elder nodded.
"A month ago, the presence of our god disappeared. The different monsters in the forest tried now to conquer the forest. Us goblins are in the middle of their fight. We fear we will be exterminated," said the elder.
"And now we're fighting the Direwolf," said the elder's son.
'A god? Could this be Veldora? The time fits correctly with Veldora taking Naruto-sama's deal,' thought Rimuru. Naruto frowned at that. This was the reason why gods didn't act directly on the world. They could break too effortlessly balances. He couldn't let this balance broken. Or darkness will consume this world and his nemesis will take advantage of it.
"It takes ten of us to have a chance to fight one of them. And with our proudest warrior dead, we have less chance against them," said the elder.
"Did he just throw his life then," asked Rimuru. Naruto frowned at Rimuru. He will need to discipline him on how to act correctly in front of mourning.
"No, he fought to retrieve this information. He was his older brother," said the elder, looking at his depressed younger son. Rimuru felt guilty now.
"Ah, sorry to have asked," said sadly Rimuru.
"Your kindness is wasted on us," said the elder.
"So you want us to fight the Direwolf? If we accept, what will you give us in return," asked Rimuru. Naruto approved his decision. It was not easy to act tough when you were a kind soul. But Rimuru was his champion, his representative. And gods couldn't give their services freely. Because they will be mayhem if not. The elder fell more in despair before his son and he kneeled deeper than before, begging with all their soul.
"W-w-we will give you our absolute loyalty. We don't have anything to give you in return. Please, protect us from the Direwolf," exclaimed the elder!
"Please," exclaimed the son! Rimuru was pondering while Naruto already had his answer. It was a prayer from their heart. As a god, he could sense them from another world. Plus, it was his fault that they were in this situation. He was the origin of this problem. He will not stand it.
"I hear your prayer," said Naruto. Rimuru looked surprised that his god will take the lead while the elder shivered at his divine voice. "We accept to offer our protection."
And like that, it was the beginning of a new nation, not like they knew except maybe Naruto. But Naruto will watch it and protect it like this world. As he was the God-savior of the worlds, and he will not let his nemesis continue his crusade. This was Naruto's promise.
