AN: Answer for the reviews:
Thor94: All I will say is that punishments coming from deities/gods aren't without meaning.
AlphaWolf00117: Thank you for loving this fanfiction. The problem with "god-like" Naruto is he changes everything without problem and the story become flat or he fights OP foes which has too much of those already on the net. I wanted something closer to Japanese folklores and having a simple limit like 'gods can't act directly on the world because they will bring too many changes and chaos' solve nicely this problem. The others characters has then more impact and Naruto playing mind games with his foes give a much deeper feeling to the story. They are features you didn't see that already happened but will be revealed later.
Chapter 6
It was dawn when Rimuru and Gazel finished their deal between their home. The deal was simple. He would let Rimuru have Kaijin and the Dwarf brothers, and in exchange, he would receive stock of the newly named Etherores or Ethersteels. And they were discussing the road between the village and Dwargon. To aid exchange, a new road will be built. Merchants will be able to travel in security and were free to enter the village. A fee of five silver will be requested to cross the village. It was cheap as the village didn't need money at this moment. The second point of this road would be for visiting the shrine. When news of a god would propagate, people will try to pray and offer offering to respect Naruto and gain his favors.
Rimuru saw Gazel's group, with Vesta taken as he couldn't get up, and flew away before retiring to Naruto-sama's shrine where his god was waiting for him. It will be the next morning when their new artisans will arrive.
Timeskip: A week later
Thanks to the Dwarfs, the village had been built quickly. Each dwarf has their chosen profession and there were masters in it. Rimuru already about Kaijin being a blacksmith, but the three brothers were a surprise.
Garm chose to take care of the clothes. His practical skills showed that with the silk he was given by Rimuru, who used [Sticky threat], was able to create any piece of clothing for male and female and all of greater quality than any other clothes they will be able to find. Garm decided to create japanese clothes and Rimuru has an idea of why.
Dord chose to create the farm. Thanks to his knowledge, the village had provisions and could farm vegetables and fruit. Rimuru tried to find a solution to farm animals but didn't find anything as the great concentration of magicule in the forest will transform the farm animal into monsters. But he didn't give up.
Mird was their architect, and Rimuru was in awe of his skills. The details and beauty his hands could create without sacrificing quality showed Rimuru a passion he never saw. Even when he never worked on japanese structure, the results were splendid. Rimuru thought the house looked like the one from the Edo period of Japan.
Now, why the brothers used japanese culture and not this world culture. Well, when they visited Naruto's shrine, 'awing' was too small of a word for their expression when they saw how beautiful and grand the structure was. So, they wanted to go beyond their limit and with Rimuru's guidance, the village was turned into a japanese village with each Hobgoblin having kimono. The best was Mird offering a wood statue of a little knight of Dwargon to Naruto. The god kindly accepted it and rewarded Mird's prayer: Knowledge of japanese structure.
Rimuru took the week to name all new goblins, and with the newly named came new Goblins' lord chosen by the Goblin King, Rigurd. Naruto even rewarded Rigurd with his new family name: Granblin. Rigurd was the happiest Goblin in the world right now. And the other villagers redoubled their efforts to be awarded too by family name.
Rimuru took Ranga to show his new [Black Thunder], a skill he got from his family name. The reason was simple, Rimuru wanted Ranga to learn it. So, while Ranga still trained under Shiroheki, he will train in this skill too.
The village was in peace. The Hobgoblins were building, the farm got planted crops, the Tempest wolf riders were hunting, and prayers and offerings were given to Naruto, increasing the protection and the health of the village. It was a peaceful day. Until the silence was broken.
"Rimuru-sama," exclaimed Rigurd, running to Rimuru! As the Goblin King, Rigurd wore a black kimono and hakama with a green haori, having a pattern of Naruto's star above his village.
Rimuru turned to Rigurd, and raised an eyebrow, wondering what problems he have.
"What is it, Rigurd," asked Rimuru? Rigurd didn't wait to catch his breath as he wasn't even breathing hard.
"The security group has detected suspicious individuals in the forest," explained Rigurd. Rimuru tilted his body.
"Monsters," he asked? Rigurd shook his head.
"No, humans," he said. Rimuru was surprised. While merchants coming from Dwargon now could enter the village, it was still rare for humans to come to the village. It is suspicious indeed. He nodded.
"I see. I will go to see if they are pacifist or hostile to us," he said. Rigurd nodded back.
"Be careful," he warned. Rimuru nodded, happy he was cared of.
"Ranga," exclaimed Rimuru.
"Hai, my master," the wolf said, exiting the slime's shadow.
"We're going to inspect the forest. Humans are coming," ordered Rimuru.
"Of course, my master," exclaimed Ranga, nodding.
Rimuru climbed on Ranga's back before Ranga took at great speed but not at his max speed. There is no need to go to 100 mph when it was next to them. 80 mph was enough. They didn't see Rigurd waving at them.
Meanwhile…
"Why did you have to touch a Red ants' nest," asked in panic a woman?
"I'm an investigator, it's normal to touch everything. And as your leader, I must show the example," said a panicked man.
"You're not a good leader then," said another panicked man.
"Don't complain about your leader," exclaimed the first man.
"If I die, I will haunt you for the rest of your life," said the previous woman.
"Not if I die with you, MWHAHAHA," the leader tried to joke but without success. Being chased by giant red ants was not the most attractive thing. The trio that talked was the same trio that RImuru and Naruto crossed inside Veldora's cave. But with them was a second young woman with japanese features, a form-hugging white shirt and tight black legging with a white cape, white shoes with black toes, and a white mask on her face with red patterns on it.
They were all running but the japanese woman decided she has enough. She turned around to face the monster. The trio stopped too.
"Shizu, don't," exclaimed the blonde girl! Her worry was not necessary as the japanese one showed how skilled she was. Ignited her sword with hot flames, she slashed the first ant before somersaulting above the second one, cutting its back. Landing, the fire user slammed the flat of her sword on the third one, a powerful blaze shooting from it. The red ant stayed lifeless. The trio regrouped with her.
"Are you alright, Shizu," said the pink-wearing girl. Shizu turned to her, her expression hidden by her mask.
"Yes, I'm alright. Thanks for your concern," she said softly, happy if you're attentive. The leader sighed.
"Don't worry us like that. Even if you're skilled, it's still dangerous, you know," said the leader? Shizu nodded.
"Yes, but I'm used to fighting monsters," she said. But their victory was short as the last ant was not dead yet. The blond woman noticed it.
"Shizu, this one is not dead," she exclaimed. Shizu faced the standing monster, but a pain in her chest stopped her.
'Not now,' she thought, falling on her knee. She was defenseless against the next ant's attack.
"Shizu," yelled the panicking blonde woman! The trio was ready to help her but something was quicker than themselves.
A white ball of energy was shot from somewhere, blowing easily a hole in the ant. The red ant was finally dead. They wondered where this came from until they heard a voice.
"Phew, I didn't know if I would make it. But this Ether is quite powerful, even my basic blew a hole in this ant," said a coming slime on a black wolf. The group of adventurers didn't know how to act. Here they saw a talking slime that help them. While they are graceful about its help, it was still a monster.
"Are you alright, everyone," asked the slime? Yep, it is a talking slime, and a unique one, if the white star in its body was any indication.
"Yes, thank you for your help, we're alright," said the leader, taking the lead. The slime nodded.
"Well, I should lead to my village. I feel you're not bad people and I'm sure you're hungry. But be civilized, please," said the slime. The group nodded wondering how strange the day it was.
Time skip
Rimuru bounced toward Rigurd, wanting to know how the group of four humans behaved. And his destination was the cafeteria. Maybe Rigurd gave them food. He should see.
"Ah, Rimuru-sama! What can I do for you," asked Rigurd, outside of the cafeteria.
"Oh, I'm just here to see how those humans behave," said Rimuru. He saw Rigurd fidgeting, nervous of him.
"Well, I gave them food because they were hungry, but…" said Rigurd but was too nervous to finish.
"I see, helping those in need is a good thing. But is there something bothering you," asked Rimuru? Rigurd didn't answer for a second before sighing.
"It's better to show you," he said. Rimuru had an interrogation point above him at this point. Rigurd opened the door, showing the four humans at a table, but three of them were fighting.
"This is my meat! Give it back to your leader!"
"You're kidding! I raised that meat! It is my meat!"
"This is where you two are wrong!"
Rimuru could only call this scene comical and stupid. They were eating the fastest possible while glaring at him and Rigurd. The only one with manners was the mask one…
'Wait a minute. Chopsticks,' thoughts Rimuru? Is she an otherworlder like him? He should ask her later. And eating with her mask still on. This was some skill.
"Guests, I hope the food is good enough for you. We're still building, so we don't have a lot of hospitality to offer," said Rigurd. At his voice, the group swallowed their food and focused on the monsters.
"Oh, sorry for eating so much. We were running for three days without eating," said the leader. The blonde girl nodded.
"Yes, the food is so good. I never thought we could eat meat like that. Oh, and thanks for the save," she exclaimed.
"We're appreciated for what you have done," said the second man. Rimuru nodded to them.
"I see. I wanted to ask why you were in the forest in the first place. You're not from Dwargon, are you" asked Rimuru? The leader sighed.
"For what is it, we could explain," said the leader, scratching his head. "I'm Kaval, an adventurer of the Free Guild branch in Blumund and the leader of this group. This is …"
"I'm Elen, thank you for the save again," said the blonde girl.
"And I'm Gido, nice to meet you," said the other man.
"And here is our temporary member. She came with us as we go in the same direction," said Kaval.
"I'm Shizu," said the masked woman.
'Shizu is her name? She is indeed japanese,' thought Rimuru before nodding.
"I'm Tempest Rimuru, the guardian of this village and the champion of Naruto-sama," said the Slime.
"And I'm Granblin Rigurd, Goblin king and leader of this village," said Rigurd.
"Champion," asked Kaval? The group of humans had an interrogation point above them.
"I will present him after," said Rimuru before becoming serious. "So what is the reason?" Kaval scratched his head again.
"We were here to investigate the disappearance of the Storm Dragon, Veldora," said Kaval.
"Yeah, you see, this evil dragon should be sealed but one day he disappeared without a trace," said Elen.
"The highers are worried as his presence prevent other to conquer the forest, like the Eastern Empire. We investigated his cave, but we found nothing. They ordered us to do the same with the forest," said Gido. Rimuru pondered on something.
'Did Veldora put orders without knowing with his own presence? Now, we must suffer the fallout. I hope they don't refuse us to build our village. Yeah, let's ask,' though Rimuru.
"I see. I just hope you don't have a problem with us building a village," said Rimuru. The three humans pondered while Shizu continued to eat.
"Well, the free guild will not have a problem. It's not their business," said Kaval.
"But what about Blumund," asked Elen?
"If the village is not hostile, there will be no problem. You will just get political battle as the Great Forest of Jura is a capital traveling road that people tried to get," said Gido. Rimuru nodded then an idea entered his mind.
"Then, why not visit the village? I'm sure you will love it," said Rimuru. Kaval scratched his head.
"Well, I don't mind. It will give proof of your hostility or hospitality," said Kaval with the others nodding.
"Oh don't worry. It will be alright. I'm not a bad slime after slime after all," said Rimuru. At his statement, Shizu stifled a laugh while the three others are confused. Rimuru looked at Shizu.
'Ah? Did she get the reference,' he thought? "Well let's finish lunch and I show you our village." He got four "Hai!"
After lunch…
The tour was without problem. Rimuru had shown them their structure, their farm, their shops, and the hospitality of the villagers. The humans were in awe at the beauty and confused about the culture. They never saw houses like that. Rimuru was ready to show them the shrine but one was missing. He searched for Shizu and found her near the gate.
"Oh, there you are. I was searching for…" he said but was cut off.
"Slime-san, are you japanese? That phrase, 'I'm not a bad slime.' I recognized it from a game," said Shizu. Rimuru sighed.
"Yes, I am. I die and was reincarnated as a slime. It's nice to meet a fellow japanese," he said with happiness. The woman then remove her mask showing black eyes and three burn marks under her left eye.
"Yes, it's nice to meet you too," she said happily closing her eyes. Rimuru admired her features, a real japanese beauty indeed.
"So, how did you get here," Rimuru asked? Shizu looked sad, and her face fell.
"I'm… a Summon," she said. Rimuru thought about where he heard this word until [Great Sage] explained he heard it from Veldora. Rimuru then became sad, as he knew how summons were treated.
"There was destruction everywhere, and everything burned. Objects were falling from the sky," Shizu said not meeting his gaze.
'Objects falling? Fire? Destruction? Don't tell me?! WW2! Then she is over seventy years old,' he thought with wonder!
"Then I was summoned by that man, this demon lord. I became a soldier for him," she continued.
'Demon lord?! Did they really exist?!' thought Rimuru, imagining some cruel and powerful guy controlling a demon army.
"But when he abandoned his castle, I meet her," she continued again.
"Her," he asked? She nodded meeting finally his gaze, but still sad.
"Yes, the hero. She listened to my story, she taught me everything I know," she said.
'Heroes exist too? I need to learn more under Naruto-sama,' he thought. He received a [yes].
"But after that, she disappeared. I didn't know what to do, so I am searching for my summoner. That's why I'm here today," she said. Rimuru could only pity her. Her life was not easy at all. But he got an idea.
"Then, why don't you ask Naruto-sama? We were ready to visit his shrine after all," he said with more entrain. Shizu was confused. What could this person do to help her?
"Naruto," she asked, an interrogation point above her head, tilting her head? Rimuru thought she was cute right now.
"Yes, he is really knowledgeable," said Rimuru. Shizu was lost but still nodded.
They decided to regroup with the others. They had different reasons for it. Rimuru, for showing him the shrine and presenting Naruto-sama, and Shizu, for meeting this Naruto, to know if he could really help her. They were talking while they were walking. Rimuru showed his memories, and how Japan was at peace after the war. Shizu was in awe and said she wanted her mom to see it. They discussed their like, their dislike, and their dream, Shizu was in awe of Rimuru's dream. Shizu talked about her past, the children she helped, and the academy she helped to create. Rimuru was impressed by her as not many would be able to do what she did her life.
When they arrived at the group, they saw a giant ice pillar created instantly before being destroyed in the same manner, shattered into pieces so small it looked like powder. It was a beautiful and terrifying spectacle. The glistening could be seen, shining like diamonds.
"What was that," exclaimed Kaval?! Elen was in disbelief.
"Ice magic? But this powerful? Who can do that," she asked. Rimuru sighed, knowing who it was.
"Don't worry, it's just Shiroheki. He trained hard, that's all," he said. The humans looked at him like he grew a second head but Rimuru ignored them and led them to the shrine.
The walk was silent, but the humans were still thinking about that ice magic. There was a being who can control Ice magic this powerful and she don't live here. So who could it be?
After a moment, the shrine could be visible. The adventurers were in awe at the structure. They never saw this type of structure except for Shizu. It was big and magnificent, that only a noble could have.
Meanwhile, Shizu was in shock. She was able to hide it in the village when she thought an otherworlder gave the knowledge and learned later Rimuru was japanese, so it must be him. But a shrine was a different story. They were the homes of the japanese gods where people could send donations and offerings. But monsters were godless, so why is a shrine here of all places? Her answer was quickly answered and she couldn't hide the widening of her eyes.
"Naruto-sama, Shiroheki-dono, we have guests I want to show you," said Rimuru, calling the two beings in front of the shrine, one on the engawa and the other on the ground.
The being on the ground was a white wolf with his fur acting like armor. The humans never saw a wolf this giant and elegant and less with two tails. The second being made flinched as if their own instincts knew it was not a being they should anger. He was a male with noble white clothes, Shizu recognized them as Kimono, Haori, and Hakama, closed by a red Obi. His chest was visible showing red patterns. He had golden hair, three strange eyes, and four horns. In the end, they didn't know how to describe this being.
"Oh, good day to you Rimuru-dono, I see you have your hands full," said the wolf. Rimuru nodded.
"Yes, I was touring with this group of adventurers to appease the worry of their home," said Rimuru. The wolf nodded and turned to the group.
"I am Shiroheki, Nibi no Okami, and one of the guards of my divine master," he said. The humans were confused but Shizu had an inkling. The statement and the look in the second being could affirm her thoughts.
"I am Otsutsuki Naruto, known as Oame-no-genten-no-kami, and I'm the god of this shrine," said the second being. And here is the confirmation for her. A silence fell on them. You can see the dots drawing themselves on the background. Until the humans broke the silence.
"KAMI-SAMA," exclaimed Kaval, Elen, and Gido in dogeza position! Shizu could only stare eyes wide open, even if the other couldn't see. But Naruto felt it, looking at her and she flinched.
"Oh, interesting," he said softly. He then clapped his hands to gain their attention. "Why don't you all tell me your presence in this presence," asked Naruto? They nodded.
They presented themselves and explained their journey, how they were ordered to investigate the cave, returning with nothing then ordered to do the same with the forest, meeting Shizu and running for three days because Kaval touched a Red Giant Ants' nest with his sword, which Shiroheki snorted at the foolishness, then saved by Rimuru.
"And here we are with still no clue of why Veldora disappeared," said Kaval.
"Yeah, it's so frustrating," said Elen.
"If we come back with nothing, the highers will use desperate methods," said Gido. Naruto nodded, seeing the tiring look they had. He observed Shizu, and how she stayed silent all along the explanation. He will wait, as the heart was a complex thing.
"Then let me appease your worries," said Naruto. The group focused on him. "The cause is me." Their eyes were wide open. "I move him somewhere else to teach him discipline." You could hear a DJ cd scratch sound in the background, their heads hiding between their shoulders.
Seriously? Had this being really moved the most chaotic of the True Dragons to teach him discipline? It's just…
"W-wow," said softly Kaval. Elen could only chuckle nervously.
"Well, I know which god to preach to now," said Gido. Shiroheki nodded at his respect for his divine master. Naruto sensed the time of the world and decided to stop their conversation as it began to be late in the evening.
"Why don't all of you take a rest in this village tonight? You can travel back to your home tomorrow," said Naruto.
"R-really," they exclaimed?! Naruto nodded and turned to Rimuru. The slime understood the look and nodded back.
"Well, if you follow me I will show you the inn," he said. The trio nodded, following the slime but Shizu stayed behind. Naruto seeing this decided to address her.
"Now, tell me, young lady. What weight on your heart," he asked? Shizu quickly turned to him.
"Ano, I would like to know where I could find Demon Lord Leon Cromwell," she said. Naruto sighed, already knowing the answer.
"Sorry to break your heart but he doesn't reside in this forest anymore," he said. And her world fell apart like that. Shizu took a step back, despair took her. Her travel was for nothing. Did she fail them? Won't they be able to go back to their world? But.. Maybe…
Taking three steps back again, she fell into the dogeza position.
"Sorry for being rude, but I have a request," she said. A request? Naruto listened carefully. "Please, save the children, I beg you," she exclaimed! Shooting star eyes glowing, he searched for his goal in her mind until he found the children she mention, and he frowned. What a noble soul she is, going from back to hell all for changing the fate of those young. A soul like her shouldn't cry like that. She approached her, crouched, and put a hand on her shoulder. She flinched while Shiroheki watched in curiosity.
"I accept your request, but it will take time and effort on your part as I can't openly act without prayers and offerings. For now, rest as you're tired physically and emotionally," he said. Hearing this, hope grew in her heart. She stayed in her position, not wanting it to be a dream.
"R-really," she asked? An 'Hai' was her answer.
"The inn is next to the gate. Take a good rest as you will need them for your journey," said Naruto returning to sitting on his engawa. She stayed in her position for a few seconds before thanking profusely and running toward the Inn.
Naruto observed her leaving until he frowned. He was not amused with the scheme of Ingrassia's humans. Banishing the young to a fate they don't deserve. And all for what… His elder was right: 'War, no matter the era.' And it hit too near home.
Feeling his guard's concerns, Naruto put those thoughts in the back of his mind before gesturing his wolf to come on the engawa. Falling the order, the wolf climbed on it, bloating against his master as the two took comfort from each other. They watched the day's star falling behind the horizon, leaving night instead. This was the scenery Rimuru saw when returning to the shrine.
"Did something happen? Shizu was happy but tears were falling from her mask," asked Rimuru. He was really concerned about Shizu as he grew fond of her. Naruto sighed again.
"A noble soul suffering from the cruel hand of Fate," said wisely Naruto. Rimuru nodded as he knew how Shizu had suffered all along her life. But Naruto smiled after. "But she is a strong soul. I can already hear her prayers." And what deep prayers. She was really a benevolent soul. It was rare to find nowa-
Someone…please…help us…
Naruto turned toward the direction of the prayer. It was full of distress and fear. Shooting star eyes glowing again, trying to find the source of the prayers. But when he found it, he was greatly displeased with the scene.
"What is the meaning of this," Naruto said?! Shiroheki and Rimuru were on alert. They never saw their god frowning this hard. His presence was filled with anger. Something was not alright and their god was displeased with it.
Naruto thought for three seconds to make two thousand plans before coming to a decision.
"Shiroheki, Rimuru," exclaimed Naruto! The two mentioned stood in the army standing waiting for orders. "There is a village of ogres being attacked by an army of orcs. I don't see the schemers behind this scene, but I will not accept genocide of the innocent." It was their time to frown as they thought about who will order the mass killing of innocents and for what reasons. "Shiroheki, you will create a passage for the orgres' escape while Rimuru will guide them to the village." He received a loud 'HAI!' before Rimuru climbed on Shiroheki and they departed, the wolf going full speed.
Naruto was still frowning. From his childhood, he always had the desire to better the world and as a god now, his desire was stronger. It's the reason he became so wise as he will not let a single evil deed take place again under his watch. But to have a massacre taking place behind his back when he knew almost everything about this world, showed he grew complacent and need to take more action. Even if he couldn't act directly, indirectly was still fair play for him. He will observe the world more. And if he found his nemesis took a hand in it and decided to do more of his evil, he will unleash hell on him and his army and there will be nothing to stop him.
Meanwhile…
A pink hair ogre was praying with all her heart for help, this was the only she can do in her mind. Her village was under attack by orcs with full armor plates. Normally, orcs will be no problem for ogres as they were weaker than them. But this many and the fact they grew stronger by eating their own and the ogres. The eating was the worse, she was petrified by the sigh and couldn't watch it, flinching at every scream of her people. So, screwing her eyes and ignoring the mantra of the orcs, she focused on praying.
"Look at that, a scared little girl. An easy meal for us," said one orc, ready to strike her. She prayed even stronger, ignoring the orc.
"Daughter/sister," two ogres yelled! The two were mainly red-skinned and hairs, but one was taller and led his village, showing he was the father while the other was the brother. They tried to regroup with the pink ogre but the surrounding orcs prevented them. They tried to cut even more with their weapon but could only watch in despair as the orc killed the pink one.
"Die," said calmly the executor of the pink ogre. The weapon descended on her, the father and son watching in despair. A tear fell from her eye, thinking her life was forfeit.
But a miracle happened.
She began to glow white, the glow repelled the strike, shocking the executor. He tried again but the weapon was again repelled, making him frustrated.
"Stop fooling around and kill her now," said an orc with black armor showing his rank of general. But he shouldn't have shown his back as a shockwave behind him sent orcs flying away in the air. Looking behind, he observed a shocking sigh. A giant white wolf with two tails whose fur act as armor. His form showed nobility and elegance. And right now, it was growling at him. But he didn't fear. He sidestepped to his left, avoiding a strike from a front paw. But he was blown away but the after-shockwave.
If the general thought that the strike was strong, then the strike shocked him even more. An attack from one of the tails was even more devastating. The swing was powerful enough to send wind at them, cutting many orcs in its path.
Meanwhile, the pink ogre was unharmed, relaxed by the presence she felt. It was so soothing, so pure, so powerful, so divine. She felt a hand on her shoulder, the one that heard her prayer.
"Continue to pray or our connection will be cut," the presence said. And she did. Her glow grew, pushing back her executor. It surrounded now the village, and the ogres were surprised by it and feel more vigor from the presence of the glow exhibited.
"What is the meaning of this," exclaimed the executor?! But he didn't have time to ponder as he was fried by black lightning. A slime came into view, shooting black lightning and white spheres at the orcs. Everyone was shocked by the power of the slime. While black lightning could easily fry an orc, the white spheres were even more terrifying as they pierced multiple orcs at the same time.
While the wolf was fighting, the leader regroup with Shiroheki.
"Thanks for your assistance," the leader said. Shiroheki nodded.
"There is no need to thank me as I was sent by my divine master. My companion and I are here to help you escape," he said, using [Icicle spears].
"Escape? Your master," asked the leader? He don't have time to ponder as he dodged and countered with a horizontal slash, cutting his foe, but one thing was sure. If this wolf served someone, then they were really powerful as he could sense the power the wolf released.
"Yes, while you have a chance to win this battle now, you will be left with nothing. And we don't know if another army of orcs will come. Because of that, my master decided to take your people under his protection," said the wolf, sending a tail strike. "The slime is with me, he will guide you to our village."
The leader tried to think of the possibilities he has. But the more he thought, the more the wolf was right. Looking at his village, he could see it in ruins and many of his warriors falling in battle. But could he trust the wolf? He needed an answer.
"Can he uphold his promise," asked the leader? There was no question about it for the wolf.
"Of course," he said instantly with confidence. This was reassuring for the leader. But he will need more proof. For now, he must make a decision.
"Everyone, retreat! Follow the slime, he will guide you to your new protector," yelled the leader. The ogres were confused by the order but followed it, regrouping with the slime. The slime in question stopped and began to lead them.
"This way," Rimuru said, bouncing quickly but at a rate that the ogres could follow. The leader's son took his sister in his arms who continued to pray.
"You will not escape, cattle," said one orc, ready to pursue the escapist. But Shiroheki will not have any of it. He took a surprised leader on his back before jumping in front of the army. He then howled at the sky, releasing a massive amount of magicules, and erecting a giant ice wall. Shocked, the orcs jumped back, and the unlucky ones were frozen by the wall. They tried to walk around the wall but it was too long for them. They were not known for their speed. The general screamed in anger at their failure. Behind the wall, Shiroheki inspected the wall before nodding and retreating.
Meanwhile…
Naruto opened his eyes, knowing the ogres had escaped. He never thought he will have to use a presence projection, the last one was two thousand years ago. He was surprised he found a miko too. Well, he will meet them tomorrow morning as he had faith Rimuru will take care of them. For now, he entered his shrine, ready to inspect more the world.
Timeskip: The next morning.
Rimuru returned to the shrine after his task was done. When the morning came, he went to the adventurers letting his god take care of the ogres. Exiting the shrine, he could see Naruto-sama waiting for him. They nodded at each other before going to their respective goal.
The ogres had camped outside at the request of the leader. Naruto knew where he could sense the miko's presence. It didn't take long for him to meet them.
"Father, the presence from yesterday is nearing us," said the leader's daughter. Hearing this, he quit his hut taking a big breath to announce the news.
"Everyone, be ready to receive our new protector, he will come any minute now," yelled the leader! The ogres prepared themselves to welcome their host. They didn't know about them but they must be strong if they have a wolf this powerful under their command.
Two minutes later, someone could be seen. But they sense no presence from them but an old ogre was weary.
"Could this be? The glow around this person, there is no doubt. Divinity," he said. The leader turned to the elder.
"Are you sure," he asked. The elder nodded.
"Yes, and from the horns he has, I have a guess," he said.
"And your guess is correct. Our meeting has finally come," said the new person. The ogres shivered from the power inside the voice, focused on them, and became shocked. They never thought that one day they will meet this being. The elder chuckled nervously.
