Chapter 7
"Gelmud, huh," Naruto sipped his tea before focusing again on the ogres? "I see, he is an ambitious monster and an evil one." He sipped again.
"Gelmud? Is that what that masked guy is called," asked the ogres' leader. Right now, all the ogres were in seiza position in front of Naruto who was sitting on his engawa. A quick count showed only a hundred of the ogres had survived Naruto nodded, coming to the subject.
"Yes, and you were not his first victim," he said. This shocked all the ogres. Weren't they the first ones? Will Gelmud continue then? The leader felt a knock in his stomach and couldn't help to clench his jaw. "Before my champion and me installed here, a goblin accepted to be named by Gelmud, without realizing he never evolved, was scammed, and condemned to servitude." All the ogre clenched their fist. So, because they refused to be named and be his servant, he massacred them. Who did that guy think he is?!
"Your champion? Is that the wolf that save us or was it the slime," asked an old ogre in a white robe. He held a katana to his waist. For the ogre, it was the wolf without question, even if the slime was powerful and unique.
"The wolf, Shiroheki, is one of my guards. Nibi no Okami and one Bijuu," Naruto said. Bijuu? They never heard of this monster. "While the slime, Rimuru, is my champion. After all, the slime body couldn't hide the otherworlder soul." The ogres were surprised. They knew about otherworlder, as summoning was a practice done by humans. But otherworlders never came without being summoned or even in another form.
"A reincarnation. Rimuru-sama is quite something then," the old ogre said, chuckling to himself. Naruto smiled softly.
"Yes, even stranded in another world, his heart didn't change, his ideal remained the same. He didn't back down when meeting me even in the face of fear. He faced me, an outer god, a being beyond his imagination. Bravery, nobility, kindness, and protection, I choose him for those reasons," Naruto said. Yes, Rimuru always saw the good in others, they were quite alike. And he was here to make sure he didn't be crushed by his dream like he almost had been. But he survived and became a god, now guiding the new generation of saviors. "Right now, he is taking care of troubled souls. Even if they are humans, Rimuru doesn't discriminate against them." All now is for Fate to not screw the slime. But Naruto knew this event will occur as changes were challenged by obstacles.
And as Naruto thought, the sky darkened with a black cloud, and three fire pillars could be seen. The ogre in alert, stood up, ready to protect themselves and their new god.
"What is this," exclaimed the leader?! Naruto tsked.
"It seems that fire spirit was stronger than her mind," said Naruto. He could see it was indeed Ifrit, a superior fire spirit, fighting against Rimuru. "Let's watch the fight, so those thoughts about my champion will be purged from your mind." Naruto stood up and walked toward the fight with the ogres following him.
Meanwhile…
This is bad, Rimuru thought. Shizu had been possessed by Ifrit according to [Great Sage]. Apparently, she was meant to be fused with the spirit but refused to lose her humanity, and gained an imperfect fusion. After that, Ifrit tried to control her body and Shizu tried to resist, exiling herself from the population as she knew she was a ticking bomb.
Rimuru couldn't help but be sad for Shizu as he grew feelings for her and was angry at Ifrit for the suffering he caused her. But he should focus, as he needed to save Shizu. A fight was inevitable as the spirit already summoned three other monsters. He was happy that Naruto-sama's blessing protected the village from burning.
"Shizu," exclaimed Elen, on the side of the battle!
"Isn't that the superior fire spirit, Ifrit? What is it doing here," asked Kaval?!
"Shizu… Shizue Izawa, the Conqueror of flames," said Gido.
"But how could she be her. The Conqueror of flame disappeared fifty years ago and Shizu doesn't look this old," said Elen.
"Yeah, but if Ifrit is here…" Gido let his statement floating.
"Then Shizu is the Conqueror of flames. We're all dead," said Kaval, chuckling nervously.
"Well, I had a happy life even if it was short," said Gido, scratching behind his head.
"Oi! It's not the time to back down. Even if we're too weak, we need to save Shizu," said Elen, snapping at them!
"I take care of Ifrit, you take care of his mignon," Rimuru yelled to them. The trio nodded to him. Rimuru turned back to the spirit, ready to fight him.
Ifrit began by launching a fireball, which Rimuru countered with a [Water blade]. But Rimuru didn't stop there as he sent a barrage of [Water blade]. Ifrit protected himself by crossing his arm in front of his head, increasing the heat. All the water attacks evaporated in contact with him, creating a smoke screen.
Rimuru tried to see inside the smoke screen but must dodge when a bigger fireball was sent toward him. In his peripheral sigh, he saw one of Ifrit's mignon impaled by an ice projectile.
"[Ice spear]," exclaimed Elen, sending another one! Seeing this, a lightbulb appeared above Rimuru.
"Elen, send some ice here," yelled Rimuru. The humans were taken back.
"W-wha…" Elen tried to say but Rimuru quickly reassured her.
"Don't worry. I have an idea how to beat this guy," said Rimuru, referring to Ifrit. Elen thought for a moment before nodding.
"[Icicle spear]," she chanted, a ice spear shot toward Rimuru! Again, the humans were surprised as the slime ate the Icicle.
"Oi! Did you see that," exclaimed Kaval?!
"Did he eat my magic," asked Elen?! Gido only scratched his head.
"Maybe it's a slime thing," he said.
Now having some Ice, Rimuru was ready to shoot back toward his foe. But Ifrit created [Body Double], sensing the intention of Rimuru, surrounding him. But the slime didn't say his last word as he can be creative when needed.
"[Icicle shotgun]," he chanted! Multiple [Icicle spears] surrounded Rimuru before he shot them. All the [Body Doubles] and Ifrit were touched, making the clone disappear and Ifrit flinched in pain as it was unbearable for him. Rimuru didn't stop here.
"[Blizzard]," he chanted again! This time, like the magic's name implicated, he sent a blizzard to his foe, recovering him in frost. Seeing Ifrit trying to free himself from the frost, Rimuru took his chance. He jumped toward the spirit, using [Predator] on him. Ifrit tried to resist but Rimuru's willpower was greater. The spirit was swallowed in the end, leaving a floating Shizu before gravity took effect.
"Shizu," yelled Elen, running toward her. Rimuru already acted and inflated himself to cushion Shizu's fall. When he was sure she was safe, he turned toward the adventurers.
"Quick! Put her in the infirmary! Without Ifrit, her health weakens," he ordered, fear taking him over. Without a second thought, Elen followed it, helped by her party. Rimuru quickly followed them as he wanted to be next to Shizu. They never saw the spectator they have.
The ogres and Naruto had seen all the fights. The ogres' eyes were wide open, never imagining they will see a slime beat a superior spirit. But the result was clear. The slime was victorious.
Naruto was proud that his champion managed to lead his temporary party to victory even if Rimuru had done eighty percent of the fighting. But this pride was squashed when he saw Rimuru's fear. It's the event he feared would happen. All he could do was be there for Rimuru. There is a solution to save Shizu but all the cards were in her hand and he couldn't help her directly. Turning toward the ogres, he addressed them.
"I believe there is no doubt anymore," he said. The leader snapped back to reality, shaking his head to remove his thoughts.
"I will be honest, I never thought a slime will be able to beat a superior spirit," he said. The old ogre chuckled.
"Yes, everyone never believes it but this fight was proof. The adaptive nature of the humans was present too, meaning he really is a reincarnator," he said. Naruto nodded to him.
"Yes, now I have a champion to comfort. I let your party visit the village to adapt to their new home," he said.
"Of course," said the leader, nodding to the god. They all took a different direction after Naruto went to the infirmary. He passed the human party without a second thought. Opening the door, he saw a weakened Shizu on the bed with Rimuru next to her. He walked toward them, but they never saw him listening to Shizu's story. It was only when Shizu turned her head toward Rimuru that she perceived Naruto. Rimuru was surprised he didn't see him as he should thank for his connection to his god.
"Kami-sama," Shizu said softly before she began to cry when she realized her wish will never be realized. The children she left behind so she could a solution to save them, they will never be saved now she is dying. She felt a hand on her cheeks, removing the tears.
"Don't cry. I will make sure your prayer wasn't for naught," Naruto said softly. Shizu's eyes widen a little.
"You will make sure they are saved? I give you everything if needed," she said, hoping he accepted her proposition. Naruto was taken by surprise but didn't show it. It was the answer he needed to act for her and Rimuru. But he needed confirmation as this was not easy to give up their freedom.
"Are you sure about this? It will mean your soul will be mine to use," he said, shocking Rimuru. The slime turned to Shizu, hoping she didn't go this far but his hope was crushed.
"Yes, if it means saving the children, I do it," Shizu said. Naruto was right, she was truly a wonderful person. Someone that suffered because of the whim of a man but she didn't go down the dark path. And yet here she was dying because of the whim of a spirit who was the subordinate of her summon.
No more, she will never suffer again under his watch. He was the God-Savior of worlds and he will not accept this end as his existence demand to solve this injustice.
Rimuru looked at her sad, sad that she gave up her freedom for saving the children she mentioned. How could the good people always get the shitty ending? And it's a loved one at that, it's unfair. Unfair that he will never be with her again. Hopefully, Naruto-sama was a benevolent god, he was sure he will not use her like an object.
"Then sleep. I will take care of the rest and your wish will be realized," Naruto said, closing her eyes with his right hand. The moment he did, Shizu died, her body aging quickly and her hair becoming white.
Naruto, still his hand on her eyes, waited a moment to give Shizu some rest. Rimuru bowed his body in respect if he could cry he would. When the minute of silence passed, Naruto acted, the Origin glowed of a rainbow color, forming a star in front of the eye.
"Ningendo," he said. He lifted his hand, dragging softly a white transparent envelope with fire patterns on it, and a red core being the color of magicules and fire. It was Shizu's soul. Origin eye stopped glowing. Rimuru was shocked as he never saw what a soul looked like.
"Rimuru," Naruto called, getting his attention. The god saw his champion's sadness and pain. How much sadness will he need to see again? This was where his determination came from. To never see suffering again. To never see someone suffering at the hand of another. To never see a loved one separated because of the selfish actions of a fool. This action will be proof of it. "Rest her body inside you. Her human life ended here." Rimuru nodded turning to Shizu's body.
As respect for her, he could do that, letting her rest inside him so this world could not take more of her. He used [Predator], swallowing the corpse. But he didn't imagine he will transform after it.
Rimuru glowed, taking a new form. He was now a human with small stature, a hundred twenty centimeters to be precise, with androgenic features, bluish silver hair, long eyelashes of the same color, and golden eyes showing his status as a majin. But he was still genderless due to him being a slime.
Rimuru was surprised by the form, not knowing he was crying but happy about it as he could help the children now. He will realize Shizu's dream when she still lived… Wait…
Rimuru turned, confused a the mention of Human life. What did he mean by that? Was Shizu something more without realizing it?
"Remove your tears and dress, Rimuru. I want you to be the witness of my next action," he said, leaving the building and letting Rigurd help Rimuru as he knew the Goblin king hear them. He led himself toward the center of the village.
"Naruto-sama, I hope everything was solved," he heard the ogres' leader on his right. He turned to him.
"Yes, but the ending was not acceptable to me. I will resolve this," he said. The leader was confused but still nodded. It was quite difficult to hide his shock when he saw a soul inside his god's hand. But he was sure there was a meaning behind it. After all, someone was in the infirmary and his god exited it with the soul. He came to the conclusion that the human girl die and her soul will be rested by his god or something. "Have your group be ready to witness my next action. But be patient as we will wait my champion." The leader nodded, walking to retrieve his subordinate.
Naruto waited until all witnesses were there. Rimuru wore a simple white kimono, and black haori and hakama. The other villagers were there too. Now he will need to address them.
"I'm sure all of you have heard the death of Shizue Izawa, the possessed human," he began. The villagers nodded, having heard of the tragic end of her life. "This ending filled me with sadness, frustration, and anger." Now, the villagers were concerned for their god, hoping he will not go after her former master. Naruto frowned in determination. "But I will not accept it. My existence demand justice must be given. Fairness will be given. A chance of a happy life will be given, one you all can help. Be a witness of rebirth, of Oame-no-genten-no-kami, of how I denied evil of their pleasure." He gained surprised looks before the villagers, including Shiroheki and Rimuru, all stood tall. He lifted the soul in the air with his gravity control, his Origin eye glowing again, the same star appearing and the plates behind him rotating with magic complex circles and algorithms writing on them. "Now, Shizue Izawa, your prayer has been heard, and your wish will be granted. As you sold yourself to me, I give you a new life." Naruto's glow flared, and stones floated in the air, plates rotating faster, announcing to the world the deed he will do. "Be reborn, as Shuiro."
Ether went to the soul, leaving Naruto's body, led by his command. Using [Banbutsu Sozo] was child play for him. It was difficult to use it when he tried to learn it as the jutsu used Chakra before. But he managed to master it with Ether, as the divine energy still had yin and yang.
The soul was enveloped in a white sphere like Shiroheki's former cocoon. But it quickly glowed with fire dancing around it. The villager took a step back as they felt unbelievably intense heat, their bodies attacked by scorching winds. They crossed their arms before their head. Even Shiroheki used his tail to protect himself and Rimuru protect his head too. But for some reason, they didn't feel pain.
'What incredible power! This is the power Naruto-sama held,' thought Rimuru! 'But there is no malice, like a god hugging the world to protect it. This is his proof, showing he is indeed a god.'
[Notice: The Ether used by Oame-no-genten-no-kami is fifty times the amount you have. It is controlled with unbelievable precision. The birth of a new being is a hundred percent sure to succeed.
Notice: [Blessing of Oame-no-genten-no-kami] was given to the new individual Shuiro. The new individual will be able to use Ether.
Notice: Detection of [Fire dominion] and [Scorch manipulation] in the individual Shuiro.] said [Great Sage].
'I see, but [Fire dominion] and [Scorch manipulation]? It seems his blessing has increased the Fire power of Shizue,' thought Rimuru.
[Answer: Yes, Ether is denser than magicules, resulting in the possibility of more powerful skills and magic when using the amount of it compared to magicules,] said [Great Sage].
'I see, if his blessing can give so much power then I should be careful. It will attract the attention of greedy people. As he champion, I must protect my god from them,' thought Rimuru, promising himself to become stronger for his god. He came back to reality just in time to see the new body of Shizue now Shuiro.
And the sigh was awing and unbelievable. The villager again was flabbergasted as they never thought they will see one. This being was only heard in legend, describing it as beautiful and eternal. How his fire could purify anything. How his feathers were considered life given. It is…
"Phoenix," said the old ogre, in awe and happy he could see one in his life. Yes, a phoenix twice the size of Shiroheki with beautiful vermillion feathers ended with golden and white fire. Big golden feathers were on its head flowing like hairs and five giant golden feathers, as tall as the phoenix itself, stood on its bottom acting as tails. They were five of them.
'Oh, a gobi. You're really going far Shuiro. But a phoenix, Ifrit's influence took a role it seems. Combining it with a powerful and pure soul. Well, more mind games for me,' thought Naruto, as he finished the process of rebirth, all glows disappeared.
The phoenix scream loudly before its form was enveloped in a golden glow before it downsized to a human form. The glow disappeared on the golden light before revealing Shizu with new features. Then gravity took over but Rimuru ran to her and caught her before she fell to the ground. He admired her new form, she still had her previous features but changed. She had a vermillion kimono with golden fire patterns and red feathers. Her body was more pronounced, her hips flaring more, and had a D-cup. Her face didn't change but her hairs were the same color as the kimono. Golden feathers attached to her hair with five big ones attached to her tailbone.
All the villagers were in awe while Shiroheki smiled proudly. Until Rigurd began to clap and the others followed him. Naruto smiled softly, shaking his head at their behavior. It was nostalgia for him. He caught sight of the leader walking to him. He turned to the ogre noticing he submitted himself in dogeza.
"Naruto-sama, no, Oame-no-genten-no-kami-sama, you have purged any doubts in my mind. I request to let live my people in this village and serve you," said the leader. The other ogres were surprised by the request and followed his steps, submitting themselves to the god in dogeza.
Naruto eyed the leader pondering his request. He was ready to accept them in the village and let them be led by Rimuru. But now the leader wanted to serve him directly. He had no problem with it and he got an idea. Now the most important one… He turned to the pink ogre, observing her clothes before eying her past and her Fate with his Origin eye. He turned back to the leader.
"The clothes your daughter wore are miko's. Is this the fate she choose," asked Naruto?
"She was trained to be a princess but she didn't support the fact our teaching condemn her to be a caged bird. So, she choose those clothes and acted as a priestess, knowing this was all she could do," the leader said honestly. Naruto nodded before watching again the daughter, noting her clenched hands.
"If this is the Fate she chooses, I will let her be my miko," he said. He noticed her flinching before trembling but this was not of fear but of happiness he sensed. Meanwhile, the leader's eyes were wide open before he scowled his face.
"There are no words for thanking your kindness," said happily the leader. Naruto nodded.
"For now…" he began before turning to his champion. "Rimuru," he got his attention, "Put Shuiro in one bed of the infirmary. Shiroheki, when she wakes up, you will explain her new duties." The two nodded before Rimuru departed to the infirmary with Shiroheki following. "You will be there as well. When Rimuru will finish, we will process your insertion," he said to the ogre, receiving a loud 'HAI!'
Changing scene: In front of the infirmary.
Naruto and the ogres were waiting for the slime, the ogres spoke with each other while Naruto waited with his godly patience. The door then opened, revealing a smiling Rimuru.
"Finish, Naruto-sama. Shiroheki is guarding her and will explain when she wakes up," he said. Naruto nodded with a soft smile.
"Now, let's begin with the ogres' insertion," he said. Rimuru noticed the ogres and paled a little when he saw their numbers. But became curious when the god produced white marbles.
"Use them. The bigger one is for the prince, the pink one is for my miko while the other ones will be of your choosing the best," he said, giving them to the humanoid slime. He then turned to the leader and raised a finger, producing a star. "And leader will become Shishibushi, Boshoku Shishibushi." The star shot from the finger and entered the leader, graving the new name into his soul. The effect was instant.
While the leader's height didn't change, his muscles were more pronounced and his clothes changed to a black kimono, hakama with red stars at the bottom, and haori with red stars surrounding a big eight-pointed white star on the back. His hair became black with red stars patterns, shoulder length. His horns became slimmer but sturdier and changed from black to red. His face's features stayed the same except for the eyes which became sharper. His skin paled a little.
"Father," exclaimed the son! He knew about the Naming system but he never watched it in action. The oldest ogre in their party was near to becoming a Kijin. But the evolution took time to complete even with an acquired name. So for his father to change immediately meant his evolution was greater than anticipated.
"Are you alright," asked the daughter, concerned with his health? Shishibushi looked at his hand, closing and opening them three-four times before chuckling.
"Yes, I'm alright. I feel even vitalized," he said, smiling at his children. He never imagined that he will evolve this young. And this power, he didn't know what it is but it was dense and powerful. No, he knew. It was his god's blessing.
"I feel like you're more than Kinjin," said the old ogre. Shishibushi nodded but didn't know what he is.
"He is right. You are a blessed Oni as today. When your children will be named by my champion, they will become blessed Oni too but less powerful. The other marbles will grant the evolution to blessed Kijin, a rank under blessed Oni," Naruto said before smiling. "The family name meant you will serve me directly." The ogres gasped before they noticed their leader kneeling at the god.
"I thank you for your reward. I will serve you to the best of my abilities," Shishibushi said. Naruto nodded, still smiling. Rimuru smiled and walked forward.
"Well, let's continue then," he said before taking and pointing the biggest marble to the prince. "Your name is Benimaru, Bushoku Benimaru." The marble shot at Benimaru, entering him, and activating the evolution.
He became a little smaller, his horns a little slimmer and his red hair like his father's except they kept their color and the stars were black. His clothes were the same as his father's but red with black stars. He admired his new look.
"So, this is how you felt, Father," he said. His father smiled and nodded to him. Rimuru nodded too before taking the pink marble this time and pointing it at the princess.
"Your name is Shuna, Bushoku Shuna," Rimuru said. The same as before happened. Her features became more mature and womanly. Her breasts were a B-cup and her hips grew a little. Her horns too become slimmer. Her waist-long hair was decorated with white at the bottom. She wore a white kimono and black hakama with a white star at the bottom, and white sleeves with red stars on her arm, completing the miko's clothes.
"Wow," she said in awe, admiring her new self! Rimuru chuckled at that.
"Now, the last three," he said, looking at the ogres' party. His first choice was quick as the old ogre could be an instructor for this village.
"You will be Hakurou," Rimuru said to the old ogre. A marble shot at him, beginning the process of evolution. He became a little taller and younger and his horns became slimmer but didn't change that much after except for the black adorning his clothes and the bottom of his clothes.
"Ho oh oh, I'm happy you choose me. It feels good to be young again," said Hakurou. Rimuru nodded to him, content that the ogre was happy. He again observed the party, searching for the diamonds between the other ores. And he found one. Well…
'Wow, HUGE,' he thought! More like he found her breast. The ogre in question was purple and had a bombastic figure whose clothes showed cleavages. She found the staring at her.
"Is there a problem, Rimuru-sama," she asked? Rimuru flinched, getting caught by her.
"Are you admiring her form, Rimuru," Naruto asked? He had a mischievous glint in his eyes but hid it from others. He will wait what the future holds for these two. He knew his champion was staring at her breast. But Naruto had knowledge that people never will think of finding. Rimuru chuckled nervously, scratching his cheek.
"Well, I couldn't help thinking she has quite a warrior form," he said, trying to save his face. Naruto didn't call his lie as it wasn't one without the slime knowing it.
"Is that true," the purple ogre asked, happy they thought she was a good warrior? Naruto nodded to her.
"One form shows the spiritual and physical aspect of one being," he began, confusing the party. "Your form shows you accepted yourself as a female and work toward this path. Your soul had taken the form your determination and desires have sculpted, giving the form of your body. But the body could only take the form of the soul if it is filled with the physical aspect. And your form shows you're a dedicated warrior. The fact that genetics choose the form of one is far from the truth," he finished his explanation. Now, he had a surprised group of males and a gaping group of females. Even the purple one and the slime couldn't believe what they heard until she beamed in happiness. He chuckled at their reaction, turning to his champion. "You have chosen a good one." He chuckled again when he saw the embarrassment on the slime's face. Rimuru cleared his throat to calm himself.
"Your name is Shion," he said, another marble shot at her. She became smaller and less wild. Her horn on her front became smoother and slimmer. Her clothes changed to a purple kimono revealing her shoulder and the cleavage of her E-cup breast. The kimono didn't hide the flare of her hips too and her legs, giving mobility to her. The bottom and the sleeve were decorated with light purple stars.
"I like this name. Thank you for it," she beamed at Rimuru before bowing in respect to Naruto. Rimuru nodded at her before researching again.
"Your name is Souei," he said to a dark skin, blue hair ogre. The process again works, changing the ogre to a little smaller version with a slimmer horn, and ninja clothes, decorated with white stars and a moon.
'Oh, a shinobi. Another interesting one,' thought Naruto. He saw Souei bowing to Rimuru.
"I thank you for the gift. I will not disappoint you," he said, smiling a little before becoming stoic again. Rimuru had difficulties now finding the last one. The ones before were all easy to find as they were unique. But the rest of the party seemed to be… normal. But one separates a little more than the other. Could he be an artisan? He decided.
"Your name is Kurobe," Rimuru said. The evolution began and the result was something the slime didn't account for. The horns were small and white, with short black hair and a stocky body. He had blue artisan clothes decorated with silver stars. He appeared as a middle-aged one.
"Thank you for choosing me, Rimuru-sama. My services are yours to use," he said. Rimuru nodded but pondered something.
'So, after two epic warriors, a cute miko, a hot bombshell, a silent ninja, and an old instructor, we get a middle-aged one. Well, a little normalcy is good for health. Now, I should name the rest,' he thought. And it did take him until dusk to name them all. But unlike the blessed Oni and blessed Kijin, they didn't evolve immediately.
For now, the group separated themselves with Shishibushi, Shuna, and Benimaru following Naruto and Rimuru to the shrine. Shishibushi and Benimaru will take temporary residence before their new houses were constructed and Shuna will live with the god and the slime as she was the new miko of this shrine.
Time skip: One week later.
It had been a week since the ogre had been saved from their extinction. With their arrival, the village was in the middle of a boon. Kurobe helped the Dwarfs with menial tasks and exchanged knowledge with Kaijin as their passion for smithing bonded them.
Shuna helped the afternoon the goblina with making clothes. This is the scene Rimuru in his slime form saw. He was carried by Shion in her arms.
"Oh, Rimuru-sama! Did you come to see our work," Shuna asked, walking with a step?
"Yes, I came to see how you do. I hope making clothes is not too much with your miko duties," he said with some concern. Because Shuna did her miko duties in the morning which required her to wake up early in the morning. With clothes making in the afternoon, he is a little afraid she will burn herself. But seeing how Naruto-sama make her sleep early in the night, he knew that his god was attentive to her health.
"Oh, Naruto-sama doesn't give me much duty in the evening. He waits until the village is stable again before beginning my training," Shuna said with pink cheeks, her smile was radiant. Rimuru could only sweatdrop.
'Has she a complex with her appearance? Well, I think Naruto-sama's speech about Shion's body gave her some motivations,' he thought. Not only she, but every female in the village, also trained more, from running to meditation with all exercise they could come with. He will need to put on his feet if it became too much. The fact that Shuna tried to be close to Naruto-sama is another thing too.
"Rimuru-sama, it's time for lunch," said Shion. Rimuru agreed with her.
'Shion declare herself my secretary, helping me with my agenda. I wonder why,' he thought. Is she trying to be helpful? Or is she trying to pay a non-existent debt? He will think later. For now, let's eat dinner.
The champion and the secretary arrived at the cafeteria, and when Shion opened the door, they saw Souei, Benimaru, and Hakurou.
"Rimuru-sama," greeted Benimaru with Souei nodding to the slime in respect.
"Did you come to eat, Rimuru-sama," asked Hakurou? Rimuru nodded.
"Yes, Shion is cooking my lunch today. She wants to cook for Naruto-sama too and he accepted," he said. But he found them flinching in fear and scared for their lives. He pondered why until…
'Don't tell me…' he began to think, realizing where it was going. Is it going to be this trend? He hoped not.
"Well, I will begin lunch now, Rimuru-sama," Shion said, putting the slime on the table. He saw her leaving to the kitchen and took his human form to sit on a chair. He looked back at the ogres' trio.
"Don't you want to eat too," he asked them? He saw them flinching again.
"No, no, we pass. We're not much hungry," Benimaru said with a nervous smile.
"Yes, we will have just tea," Hakurou said calmly but there is sweat running down his cheek.
"I will…" Souei began to say, standing up before he created [Body Double]. "Scout the perimeter of the village." He disappeared then in a flicker.
'Wow, he can already create [Body Double]. This is a Blessed Kinjin for you,' Rimuru thought in awe before he became nervous. 'But their reaction confirmed something I didn't want to.' However, his nervousness disappeared when he saw Naruto and Shuiro entering the cafeteria.
Rimuru couldn't help but stare at Shuiro. She had been beautiful before her rebirth but now she had this supernatural beauty that humans will envy. Her figure was mature and elegant, and her golden feathers showed royalty but she was in reality a servant, one to a god. He didn't see it the first time, but the golden eyeshadows in the exterior corner of her eyes brought her fiery amber irises. And her smile. He couldn't help but blush. But he need to compose himself, he didn't want to be a creep to her. What he didn't notice was Naruto caught his blush and smile softly but there was some mischievousness in it.
Shuiro observed the cafeteria, thinking it was a nice place to eat. She had been shocked when she woke up next to Shiroheki. He had explained her new life as a Bijuu, and she noticed her new feature showing she was not human anymore, her new power, her new duties to her god. Her shock was replaced with tears of happiness, she couldn't describe how happy she was given a second chance. And she had thanked profoundly Naruto. Now, she did her best to serve him, to show him he didn't make a mistake. So she decided to train her new power. Now, she followed her god to eat.
She noticed the presence of the ogres and the… girl? Boy? The androgynous monster staring at her. But the bluish silver hair reminded her of someone, a kind monster with a beautiful dream, a monster she admired with all her heart. Until it tilted her. She smiled and walked to him.
"It's nice to see you, Rimuru," she said happily to him. Her smile was contagious.
"Y-yes, Nice to see you too. I hope your waking was not too shocking," Rimuru said nervously. Shuiro giggled, hiding her mouth with her hand. What an angelic giggle, he couldn't help but think.
"Well, my waking was shocking, to be honest. I was ready to die, but I still woke up. I was so happy that my wish will be realized," she said smiling widely, sitting next to Rimuru.
There is warmness entering Rimuru's chest, he couldn't explain it. But he knew he was happy that she didn't cry anymore, her smile made his day.
"I see," he said smiling at her. They continued to smile at each other until a surprised look came on Shuiro's face, and she stood up abruptly. She turned sheepishly to the ogres.
"Sorry if I ignored you, it wasn't my attention," she said before composing herself. She put a hand on her chest. "I'm Shuiro, the gobi no phoenix, and one of the guards of Oame-no-genten-no-kami-sama. It is nice to meet you." Her smile was really contagious as the ogres smiled too.
"It is nice to meet you too, Shuiro. I'm Bushoku Benimaru by the way," said the red ogre. Hakurou nodded.
"Hakurou. And don't be sorry about ignoring us. We have enough tact to know you young people need time to catch each other," he said. Souei nodded too.
"Souei," he simply said. He was a man of few words after all. Shuiro nodded to them before sitting down again. Rimuru smiled widely, nothing could stop his happiness.
When the scene stopped, Naruto took his place next to Rimuru, on his other side.
"Thank you for waiting," exclaimed a returning Shion! She then put a bowl in front of Rimuru and Naruto. "Here is your meal!" Well, the meal was too big of a word for the monstrosity in front of them.
Rimuru's mood broke and the breaking could be heard in the background, a fearful look on his face.
'She really can't cook,' yelled Rimuru in his mind! He observed scarily the purple and gelatinous meal in front of him as if it was alive. He swallowed hard.
Meanwhile, Naruto raised an eyebrow at the meal, wondering how did Shion fail so bad. It was the same result as Rimuru. An alive monster in his bowl. It raised the question…
"Shion," he called her. She was confused by his calling. Is there something wrong with her cooking? Will he not try it?
"What is it, Naruto-sama," she asked slowly? He turned to her, his eyebrow still raised.
"Did you taste it yourself," he asked? Shion was even more confused. Why will she eat the meal of others? She didn't need to wait long for his answer as his sigh made her weary of it.
"Shion, it is polite to taste the meal before serving it to others," Naruto said, presenting her a spoon of it. He assumed she was a beginner but never tasting her creation will never help improve her skill.
Shion was blinking before taking the spoon. She never knew it was polite to taste it herself. She put the spoon in her mouth and her reaction was immediate. She became green and rushed immediately into the kitchen. She came back a minute later, looking sick. She flopped on the table, sad she failed this bad. Naruto sighed again.
"I hope you understand now. It is a basic skill required in cooking. If you want to be a great cook, you need to gain knowledge before creating your own, like you need to learn to walk before running," he explained to her calmly. She was crying crocodile tears.
"Hai," she moaned. Naruto sighed. From what he saw and understood, she didn't begin cooking yesterday. It's been a long time since she tried it, but only the first time she realized what wrong she did. Realizing too late her error, even more, when it was a beginner error, was a blow to her.
While Shion was crying for her mistake, the three male ogres were crying too but with joy.
'Good job, Naruto-sama,' Benimaru thought, doing a discrete fistbump!
'This is our god here,' thought Hakurou!
'Finally,' thought Souei. Still in his character, even in his thoughts. Naruto internally sweatdropped at those three thoughts. Seriously, they don't even have the bravery to tell her. It will need to be resolved later.
Shuiro, seeing Shion's distress, decided to stand up and walk to her. She then put a hand on Shion's shoulder getting her attention. Shuiro smiled at Shion.
"If you want, I can teach you how to cook," Shuiro said calmly, a motherly aura surrounding her. Hearing that, Shion beamed at her, taking Shuiro's hands in her.
"Are you sure," she said, making sure she didn't mishear. Shuiro only smiled more, her aura still present.
"Yes, while I guard Naruto-sama, he doesn't have any problem with me helping others. Let's meet every midday to cook," she said. Shion beamed even more before bowing to her.
"Thank you, Shuiro-sama, I will not disappoint you," she said. Shuiro chuckled softly.
Rimuru observed them with a smile, happy that his secretary will be in good hands. He was sure that if there is other problems, Shuiro will take care of them.
'What a motherly woman! And the 'fufufu' does exist,' he thought in bliss! Naruto looked at his champion in amusement.
The ogres sighed at the scene, happy too for Shion.
"It was time someone take care of her. She has this complex after all," Benimaru said softly. Hakurou agreed with his young lord.
"Indeed, only knowing how to fight is not a good thing. Yet, we were not brave enough to help her. We were cowards," he said. Souei nodded at them.
"It means you need more discipline and training," Naruto said to the trio. They looked surprised at him. Naruto snorted at their reactions. "I will not accept pride and laziness going rampant. I will observe all your results, including facing others and their problems," he said with seriousness. Hearing their god that he will observe them, made them touched and determined to please him.
"Of course," Benimaru exclaimed with power! The others two nodded. Naruto nodded back, content that his followers will follow the right path. He saw just in time Shuiro and Shion, leaving for the kitchen.
'The days are peaceful but I sense the storm coming. Rimuru will need to be ready to tackle the orcs' army, as they will come to this village at any moment,' Naruto mused, plans and theories about Otsutsuki was been built. Time will tell him and his charges.
Meanwhile: Inside a cave…
The marchlands were the territory of the Lizards, humanoid lizard monsters, descendants of the dragons. They were a proud tribe of warriors, and the leader showed even wisdom, calmness, and power coming from a veteran. As a great warrior, the leader didn't fear death and was ready to guide his people. And this moment will not be the one which disapproves of him. Sitting on his throne, he watched one of his people running in panic toward him.
"Chief, we have a catastrophe on our hands," said the panic lizard, kneeling before his leader. The leader narrowed his eyes.
"What is the meaning of this," exclaimed a female voice next to the throne?! The leader raised his hand stopping the female from continuing. Even if she was his daughter, he will take care of it.
"Calm yourself and explain. What is the commotion," the leader asked? Hearing his leader, the kneeling lizard began to explain quickly.
"Us, scouts, have found a disturbance near the border of our territory. There was an army of orcs fully covered in plated armor. And right now, they are walking toward us," he finished in fear! This was quite disturbing.
But it didn't make any sense. Orcs were known for their reproductive feats but they weren't an intelligent species. If they wore armor as his scout said, it meant someone was behind the orcs, acting in the shadow. Now, he needed to know the power of this army.
"How many orcs are in this army," the leader asked. And he knew now something was amiss. Before was his scout stuck in fear, paling, sweating, and not moving. It began to worry him.
"Didn't you hear the question of your leader," yelled the daughter?! But she was stopped again by her father.
"Daughter of mine, this is not the moment to be agitated," he said to her before returning to his scout. He heard briefly her apologize, waiting for the answer.
"T-two hundred thousand, my chief. We double-check with magic and the count is correct," the scout said, more scared of this revelation than their reaction. The leader's blood ran cold.
"WHAT," he yelled! Two hundred thousand?!
"What are you saying? This is inconceivable! Even with their reproductive feats, they don't have the power to maintain an army this large," the daughter said, trying to make sense of what she heard. Two hundred thousand, it was terrifying. And the leader agreed with her. But if magic was involved to check, it was real then.
The leader fell on his throne like a puppet with strings cut. It indeed was a catastrophe. If they fought against this army, the lizards will be annihilated. And it struck fear in his heart. But he needed to be calm and think. Right now, information was important. He needed to find a weakness in this army he could exploit. As for the numbers, he will ally with potential monsters in the Great Forest of Jura. This was a beginning.
"Send me my son, Gabiru. I have a mission for him," he said, his hand hovering toward one of the guards. He received an 'Hai!' before the guard disappeared.
Right now, all he could do was to pray, and pray a someone above answered his prayers. Time was against them, but he was powerless against it. He could only prepare for the event coming to him.
