At the Uchiha residence

Sarada was lying on her bed with arms spread out, facing at the slowly moving fan on the ceiling. It was night time, the crescent moon was out and the stars glistened from Sarada's bedroom window, which was on the upper floor. She and her team had just returned from a mission to Sunagakure, they were to escort the one-tailed Shukaku to Suna so that it can be sealed into Gaara the kazekage. Fortunately, they had encountered little trouble on road to the hidden sand as they were accompanied by two Jonin as well as Konohamaru. The mission was a success but tiring. Sarada took off her glasses and put them on a table beside the bed, then slowly, her eyelids started lowering as she started succumbing to sleep. She was about to fall into slumber when a nock on the bedroom window woke her up. She turned her head towards the window while still laying on bed, she could only see a shady figure of a man with a well built body. She was startled at the sight and quickly tried to get up. The man, having alarmed his target, used some tool to silently make passage through the window glass and entered the room. Sarada reached out for her glasses but seeing the figure having already entered the room, tried to grab her Kunai from her waist pocket and resist. Though it was to no avail as to her poor vision without glasses and the drowsiness. She tried to make some noise to wake up her mother or the neighbors but she got captured anyway. The man covered her mouth with his strong, bulky hands and injected some chemical into her body. The substance acted quickly and she could feel her body going numb and mind going blank, she was soon unconscious. The man who picked up her unconscious body and dashed out of the village like a shadow. While all this was happening, Konoha slept soundly, unaware of what had happened.

At the hokage office

It had been two days since the abduction, the old rookie nine(except Sasuke) were gathered in the hokage office, Naruto sitting on the Hokage seat and the rest standing on the floor. Everyone's face was stern with only Sakura sobbing time-to-time.

"How do we come to know of this?" Naruto questioned with a serious tone and an angry demeanor.

" When we found the girl missing me and Akamaru tried to track her down by her scent, the Earth country was as far as we could go safely and without encountering scouting parties. As much as I can put she is being held hostage by the enemy. Some Anbu that were spying in the land of Earth have also reported sighting the Uchiha girl in the lands." Kiba spoke in a low voice.

"So, what should be the immediate actions?" Naruto spoke.

"The girl isn't a high ranking shinobi so she can't spill any serious information. Her clan lineage is, well, the Uchiha. She must've been kidnapped for the sharingan only. The girl already has a two tomoe." Shikamaru replied.

"We do have time, though. Transplanting an eye is no easy task and especially when it's a dojutsu. They must block a certain nerve in the eye in order to lock the activated sharingan into not being turned off which itself will take days as seeing Iwa doesn't have much surgeons talented in this sorta thing. I am an expert in medical science myself so I can guarantee what I'm saying." Shizune said in a lenient manner.

"Well then, if we got time then I'm sending one person who will undoubtedly bring back Sarada." Naruto spoke and grinned a little.

"Who?" Sai asked.

"You'll soon know." Naruto calmly replied as a man with bold eyes and wearing the leaf flack jacket entered the room.

"You requested my presence, Naruto?" asked Yamato as he entered the office.

" Well Yamato-sensei, I am dispatching you to a rescue mission to bring back the recently abducted Sarada Uchiha. You will also have company with a strong shinobi who will give you the details, you will find him on the entrance of the village." Naruto ordered.

"Of course, Lord Hokage." Yamato said and left.

"It's quite extraordinary to see someone with Senju cells go and rescue an Uchiha." Choji said and chuckled.

"The olden days are gone, Choji. Now go and see your wife, she must be in a serious dilemma right now." Ino replied.

And it was indeed that Karui was in a serious dilemma. It was a lot for her village to let her immigrate to the leaf after her marriage while carrying all the secrets and jutsus of her village around, but now she was in a war against her former home and countrymen. It was good she retired from shinobihood, otherwise she would've likely faced old friends and even family on the battlefield.

Thinking this she was sitting in her room giving thoughts to all the recent events that had happened when the door handle turned and in came her husband.

"You should stop thinking over this matter, Karui. It will only be worse, Ino has advised you try to immerse yourself into daily life to avoid thinking about this. I am only saying this for your own well-being." Choji sat beside his wife and consoled her.

"Perhaps, I'll try." Karui softly replied and then went out to greet Chocho who just had returned from a mission.

In some of Orochimaru's hideout

Karin sat on a desk in her room in the hideout, a cup of coffee stood on the right of her on the table and a newspaper was spread in front of her. Her eyes were focused on the newspaper with several others piled around her. The desk was near a window and the whole room was lighted by the sun. Karin was taking a sip from her coffee when Suigetsu entered the room.

"It's not ordinary for you to be reading the newspaper, most of the time I only see you experimenting with your chemicals or writing reports." Suigetsu spoke as he entered the room. Karin was irritated by this intrusion but decided to cope with her colleague and replied,

"From what I have heard the events in the shinobi world have been peculiar ones. So, I am interested in knowing what's going on. Besides another world war has been waged it seems."

"Well it suddenly draws my interest too, may you kindly summarize for me what has been happening around the world while we are stuck in this dark, isolated hideout?" Suigetsu replied.

"Well, no. I don't have time. But since you helped me with the documents the other day I may repay you." Karin spoke with clear irritation in her voice and then continued,

"There had been an assassination attempt on the 7th Hokage of the hidden leaf, reportedly it was conducted by the hidden cloud but failed and the plot was revealed to Konoha. The daimyo of the land of fire has also been assassinated. Iwa and Kumo were planning to make a seemingly unbreakable defense line but Konoha did a destructive sabotage and foiled their plans."

"Interesting, perhaps I will some day go out to the battlefield and search for bodies with kekkei genkai."

Alright chapter complete. I had fun writing this and will upload the next chapter in which the rescue will occur. Ideas are always welcome.
