Alright I normally wait until the end to drop an Author's Note but I wanted to go ahead and get some stuff off my mind from the jump before we get started with this story. One principle I have lived my life by for the past few months is: Life is short and unpredictable so while I'm here on this Earth do what makes me happy no matter what. So with that being said, I'm here with a NEW OC by the name of Solarion and you guys will learn all about who he is throughout the story. I'm just gonna say some things are gonna happen throughout the course of this story that some of you will not like and certain characters may be out of OOC. If you don't like it then by all means keep it moving but for those of you that wanna stick around, let's get this shit started.

Chapter 1: "The First Steps"

Arc 1: The Dawning of a Hero

*Disclaimer: I don't own any characters or anything DC-related, all I own are my OCs and Sunstone City. AU, characters and events of this Earth are independent of the typical DC Continuity.

August 10th, 1992- Sunstone City, CA - 12:32 PM (PDT)

The year was 1992. And it was in this year that the world had undergone a lot of changes that could shake the foundation of the world as everyone knew it. Technology, Science, Medicine and etc had all started to make advancements that would further the advancement of human society as everyone knew it. And on the cusp of that change was Advanced Technological and Life Advancement Systems, ATLAS Labs for short. And at the forefront were two scientists who in the past 2 years had made some of the biggest advancements, Dr. Jonathan and Catherine Rayne.

Jonathan and Catherine were two young doctors who were focusing on using one of the biggest natural resources in the atmosphere of the Earth, the sun, to power the technology that would truly make their city "The Sunlit Haven" or "The Radiant Metropolis" that everyone had dubbed it as.

Sunstone City, California housed nearly 800,000 residents. The city was huge with a 900 square mile area. The city was located along the coast just a few hundred miles from Santa Barbara. The city had several skyscrapers with the most noticeable being Locke Tower standing nearly 82 stories and 1120 feet. The city had several noticeable and noteworthy places of interest. The Gardens of Nash, dedicated to the city's founder who found the namesake of the city, The Sunstones in a cave. The Sunstone Plaza situated in the heart of the city was a bustling public square that served as the focal point for community gatherings and events. The plaza featured an impressive solar-powered art installation capturing the essence of the sun's radiance. The famous Sunstone Museum of Science and Technology, the Solar Sculpture Park and the Sunstone Promenade, a vibrant district offering a diverse range of shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Several sports teams in Basketball, Hockey, Football and Baseball.

And pretty soon the city would be the home of ATLAS Labs' Solar Nexus Collider. The collider would unlock the secrets of the future and allow them to truly power the city with clean energy for the next milenia.

At the helm of this project were the Rayne couple. Catherine specialized in the science of different energy sources while Jonathan specialized in the mechanical side of that project. Together the two were a formidable couple. And together the two would be bringing in their first child into this world. This was their third attempt at a child after 15 years of marriage. The first child was lost in a miscarrage and while it devastated the couple, they were still gonna try for a kid. So they did again. And this time, they thought everything was good but when that baby came out dead, dead before it even took its first breath that hurt the couple again. Almost to the brink of divorce but luckily they were able to work through their problems. And they tried again. This time being successful. They didn't know the gender of their baby, they were waiting till it came out of the womb to find out which kept some level of excitement for this pregnancy.

And even though she was pregnant, Catherine Marie Rayne was not going to allow her pregnancy to stop her from working on what she considered to be her life's greatest work.

Currently the 38-year old caucasian woman stood in her white lab coat with a clipboard in hand and a pencil writing notes down on her clipboard as her piercing blue eyes stared at her husband watching as his muscles were bulging out of the short-sleeve white t-shirt he wore as he stood inside a lab working on a silver globe like object that was studded with hexagonal plates.

"You know I see you staring at me," Jonathan said as he turned to look at his wife, eyes trailing up and down her 5'4 figure. Her hair was in a tight dark brown bun with sharp eyebrows. Her stomach was huge, almost as if she were carrying a mini-globe in her belly.

"I just like to watch you work, it's very soothing and relaxing in a way," she said making him let out a hearty chuckle as he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a red rag, wiping the excess oil off of his hands as he stood tall at his 6 foot frame.

"Yeah, I do the hard work, you do the easy part, you like that don't you Mrs. Rayne," he said as he smiled nodding her head as this time, she began to check her husband out with her eyes looking at his toned frame. He wasn't too muscular like a bodybuilder but he was still toned. He had short dirty blonde hair in a combed slick back style with a singular strand hanging down. His piercing blue eyes looking on meeting her gaze.

"I love that Mr. Rayne."

"If you two are done flirting, I would like to get back to work," said an older scientist in his early 50s looking on with a full head of salt and pepper hair and dark brown eyes as he wore a white lab coat over his garments.

The couple laughed at their colleague while he looked on with an unamused frown on his face.

"I think it's ready to be turned on. Don't you think so?" Jon said as she nodded, walking over to a console set up just a few feet away from the collider.

"Shouldn't you be safe, away from this machine?" the older scientist suggested as Catherine turned to look at him with a frown.

"Dr. Metcalf, I have been working on this machine for the past 2 years, I would like to see first hand what it can do," Catherine said Jon and Dr. Metcalf shared a look at one another. Jon simply shrugged and pressed a button on the console, causing the reactor to start glowing with yellow energy as it let out a light hum.

Jon smiled as he looked on but his smile turned into a frown as he saw the ball began to glow brighter to the point that it was almost blinding. Cat shielded her eyes from the light just like Jon and Dr. Metcalf.

Everyone in the room gasped as they felt the ground began to rumble at their feet. Suddenly energy started to radiate from the machine as sparks began to fly out of the machine's circuitry. Suddenly a wave of golden energy dissipated from the machine. Jon saw this coming for everyone, especially his wife and his unborn child. Jon jumped into the fray and grabbed Cat and turned her away from the wave shielding her the energy.

He closed his eyes and braced for impact expecting the wave of energy to hit him and destroy him. But the waves simply immerse into both of their bodies and spread down into their unborn child. Dr. Metcalf felt the energy hit him, making him drop down to a knee as the energy coursed through his body.

The humming ceased as the machine faded back to black. Jon opened his eyes and loosened his grip on his wife, still holding her in his arms.

"You alright honey?"

"Yes, I'm fine," she said, nodding her head. Her hand went down touching her belly as her gaze set upon her pregnant stomach which housed the couple's offspring, "we're fine."

Jon let out a deep sigh of relief before turning over to Dr. Metcalf. He walked over to the scientist and held out his hand offering a hand to help the doctor up to his feet.

"Are you okay Dr. Metcalf?" Jon asked.

"Yes, I'm fine, just got light headed," Dr. Metcalf said as he rose up to his feet, face wincing in pain as did so, "Maybe we should cease all experiments for the day and just go home."

Jon and Cat shared a look as Dr. Metcalf walked off, perhaps feeling some type of pain in his body as he did so.

Rayne Residence - 11:42 PM (PDT)

The room was dimly lit with a cozy atmosphere as the couple of Jonatahan and Catherine Rayne were now in the comfort of their own home lying peacefully asleep. Suddenly Catherine felt something, a warm liquid rushing down her leg causing her eyes to pop wide open. She peeled the covers off of her body looking down to see a wet stain in her nightgown between her legs.

Panic starting to set in caused Catherine to look over to her husband and frantically shake him awake.

"Huh? What's going on?" Jon said groggily and confused after being jolted awake until he turned to his wife seeing the worry on her face. The grogginess disappears instantly noticing the worry and urgency on her mug.

"What's wrong Cat, are you okay?" he said, eyes glancing over her with concern until his eyes set on the stain.

Cat clutches her belly, breathing heavily, struggling to find her words.

"My water….it broke. That baby's coming, Jon!" she said breathlessly.

Jon's eyes widened with a mix of excitement, nervousness and fear. While this was his 2nd time going through this exact situation it didn't make it any easier. He quickly jumps out of bed, his mind racing with thoughts and the sudden realization that their lives as they knew them were about to change forever.

"Okay, okay, okay. Stay calm, Cat. We've got this. Let me get dressed, and then we'll head to the hospital. Just breath baby, breathe!" He said panicky yet composed at the same time if it were possible.

Catherine simply nods, trying to steady her breathing as Jon rushes around the room, throwing on clothes and gathering essentials.

"Do we have everything we need? Did you pack the bag?"

Catherine nods, her face contorted with a sense of anticipation and pain as another contraction hits her body.

"It's…in the closet. We're ready, Jon, it's time," she said, gritting her teeth.

Jon grabbed their bag, the same bag that they took on the first pregnancy. With the bag slung over his shoulder, Jon rushed to Cat's side, gently helping her up from the bed. He supports her as they make their way towards the bedroom door.

"You're doing great, Cat. Just focus on breathing and stay strong. We're going to meet our baby soon, and I couldn't be more excited," Jon, being supportive, continued to say words of encouragement to his wife.

Cat manages a small smile through the discomfort, finding strength in Jon's words and presence.

I love you, Jon. Thank you for being here with me.

"I love you too, Cat. We're in this together, every step of the way."

They slowly make their way out of the bedroom, embarking on the journey that will lead them to the arrival of their precious child.

August 11th, 1992 - Sunstone City General - 12:02 AM (PDT)

The room was filled with a mixture of anticipation and nervous energy. Jon, a loving and supportive husband, stands by Catherine's side as she lies on the hospital bed, ready to bring their long-awaited child into the world.

Catherine laid there gripping her husband's hand tightly trying to use it as a means to let out her anxiety.

"Jon, I can't believe this is finally happening. After everything we've been through... our baby is really coming."

"I know Cat. This is our moment. We've faced the challenges together and now it's our moment in the sun after the darkness. You're so strong, my love," he said as he gently squeezed her hand giving her some reassurance.

Catherine's eyes well up with tears, a mix of joy and lingering fear from their past losses.

"I never thought we'd make it this far. I'm scared, Jon. What if something goes wrong again?"

Jon leans in, gently wiping away his wife's tears and gives her a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"I understand your fears, Catherine, but we've come so far. We've learned to be resilient, to have hope even in the face of heartache. Our baby is strong, just like their mother. We've got an amazing team of doctors and nurses here to support us every step of the way."

A nurse enters the room, offering a comforting smile.

"Everything is progressing well, Catherine. You're doing great. Just a little longer, and you'll get to hold your beautiful baby in your arms."

Catherine takes a deep breath, finding strength in Jon's word and the nurse's encouragement.

"Thank you, Nurse," Catherine said with determination in her voice before she turned to her husband, "And thank you, Jon, for being my rock. Our baby is lucky to have you as their father."

Tears started to well up in the corner of the eyes of Jonathan Rayne, eyes filled with pride and love for his wife.

"And I'm the luckiest man in the world to have you as my wife and the mother of our child. We've waited so long for this moment, and it's going to be everything we've ever dreamed of."

As the contractions intensify, Catherine grips Jon's hand even tighter, finding solace in his unwavering support. Catherine panted for her breath as she looked on.

"I love you, Jon. Thank you for never giving up on us."

"I love you too, Catherine. We're in this together. Our love will guide us through, and soon we'll be holding our miracle in our arms."

The couple share a tender moment, their hearts filled with hope and gratitude, as they prepare to welcome their precious child into the world.

Delivery Room - 2:12 AM (PDT)

The room was filled with a mix of excitement, tension and anxiousness as Catherine continued on in labor. Remaining by her side was her husband, offering words of encouragement and support.

"Catherine, you're doing amazing. Just a little more, and we'll be welcoming your baby into the world. You're almost there," the nurse cheerfully said.

"I can feel it, Jon. Our baby is so close. I'm ready to meet them," Catherine said, straining as she did so.

Jon leans in, his voice filled with love and determination.

"You're doing incredible, Catherine. Just a little while longer, and we'll have our miracle in our arms. Stay strong. I'm right here with you," he said whispering into her ears as she gave his hand a gentle squeeze and nodded on, focus unwavering despite the exhaustion.

Silence filled the room as the sounds of the baby's heartbeat on the monitor rang out throughout the room. A steady rhythm that serves as a reminder of the new life soon to arrive.

"Alright, Catherine, it's time to push. With each contraction, give it everything you've got," said the Doctor enthusiastically. Catherine takes a deep breath, channeling her strength as she pushes, guided by the doctor's instructions.

"That's it, Catherine! You're doing amazing! Keep going!" Jon said, cheering his wife on. Catherine's determination radiates as she pushes through the pain, her face flushed with effort.

After a series of intense pushes, a cry filled the room. The atmosphere shifted from tension to pure joy as the doctor lifted the baby, swaddled in a blanket, into the air.

"Congratulations! It's a healthy baby boy! Weighing 12 pounds. You did it!"

Jon's eyes welled up with tears of happiness as he gazed at their newborn child. A son.

"Oh my goodness… Look at him, Catherine. They're perfect. Our little miracle."

Catherine's exhaustion melted away, replaced by an overwhelming surge of love and joy as she caught a glimpse of their baby, making tears well up in her eyes.

"Our baby, Jon. We did it. He's finally here."

The doctor carefully placed the baby on Catherine's chest, skin-to-skin, fostering an immediate bond. The couple shared a tender moment as they welcomed their new baby boy into the family.

"Jon, he's here. I can't believe it," Catherine said as her hands caressed her baby's smooth, silk-like skin.

"We need to give him a name," Jon said with a light whisper.

Cat nods as they two share a brief moment of silent contemplation as their gazes lock onto their precious bundle of joy.

"You did say he was the light in a world filled with darkness. He's the bringer of light in a world filled with darkness. What about-"

23 Years, 9 Months Later - June 5th, 2016 - Rayne Household - Sunstone City, CA - 8:00 AM PDT

"Lucas Samuel Rayne, it's time to wake up, remember you have an interview with ATLAS Labs at 9:30!" said a slightly older Catherine Rayne standing in the doorway of her son's half-packed bedroom. Today was a big day for the Rayne family. The son of scientist Jon and Catherine Rayne would be moving out of their house and into an apartment downtown Sunstone City just a few miles away from the ATLAS Research Facility, the same facility where the collider had failed for the first time.

And who would've known how the energy from the collider would've changed everyone's lives that day. Especially the Raynes.

The boy named Lucas had bolted up, shirtless as sunlight peeked from his open curtains radiating over every inch of his smooth, silky sun-kissed body exuding a warm, vibrant glow reminiscent of a sunrise. His skin's slight golden undertone was reminiscent of a brillant golden sunrise. The light cascaded down his well-developed chest and arms. He ran a hand through his golden, blonde cascade of thick, silky hair.

He turned his head to the alarm clock seeing that the time was 8:00 allowing him to let out a deep sigh of relief.

"Thanks mom for waking me up. I normally wake up on my own but today I really needed to make sure that I was up. An interview with Atlas Labs isn't super easy to come by," Lucas said as he stood up, standing tall at 6 feet 2 inches giving him a commanding presence as his sculpted arms, developed chest and broad shoulders giving him a powerful and athletic physique.

"It's fine son. For as long as I can remember, you've wanted to change the world. Change it like those heroes you like I suppose. Well, breakfast should be ready in about 30 minutes so you can join us when you're done getting ready," his mom said flashing him a smile as she closed the door behind herself leaving Lucas to stand there in his boxer briefs.

Lucas walked over to his mirror, gazing upon his reflection. His eyes were a striking shade of amber giving his eyes a captive and alluring quality. Intense and expressing, being able to reflect his emotions. His irises shimmered with a radiant golden hue almost reminiscent of miniature suns, pulsating with golden energy. His face is defined by his strong, chiseled features giving him a rugged masculine look. His well-defined jawline, prominent cheekbones, naturally thick and well-shaped eyebrows framing his amber eyes. His straight and proportionate nose and medium-sized lips that had a natural, subtle curve.

"You got this Luke. You got it!" He said, hyping himself up as he turned his head to a small black box sitting on top of a brown box. He walked towards the box picking it up as a small frown snaked its way onto his mug. He opened the box revealing a black glossy ring.

He looked down at the ring that had sort of become a daily accessory for him everyday. And while most people thought it was just an ordinary ring, that could be the furthest thing from the truth. Luke placed the ring on his right hand's middle finger. He took a deep breath before walking back over to the mirror.

His facial and muscle structure were still the same but his hair was no longer a golden blonde color but instead a dark brown. Gone were the amber colored eyes and replaced with ice cold blue eyes. His skin still had a light tan undertone but not as much as before. This helped him mask his appearance so he didn't catch any unwanted attention. His mother designed the ring while his father physically created the ring. The ring worked by absorbing the energy from his external features allowing him to appear "normal".

8:32 AM PDT

Lucas walked down the stairs clad in a pair of black chinos with a pair of black loafers, a white and blue plaid button up with a black vest. His eyes set on his father sitting at the table with a newspaper in hand and a pair of glasses on the tip of his nose.

"How do I look dad?" Lucas asked as he did a spin. His father looked chuckling amused at his son.

"You look ready for the interview. You're just missing one thing that will really make your outfit," Jon said as Lucas looked on with a confused look on his face.

"What?"

"This," Jon said, taking off his watch and handing it to his son. That watch was something that he always wanted growing up. Seeing his father get up in the morning to go to work and put the watch on was something that inspired him. Something so simple was so symbolic to him. For him, his father was Superman. The Man of Steel was someone that motivated Lucas but Jonathan Rayne was someone that Lucas idolized. And this watch was his symbol.

"Dad, I can't. Grandpa Frank gave you that watch."

"He did. And he told me when I got older to give it to my son. He said I would know when to give it to you and I can't think of a better time. You're moving out, interviewing for the job you've always wanted. You're becoming a man and I'm so proud of you," Jon said. Lucas smiled as he grabbed the watch from his fathers grasp and placed it on his wrist. It was a gold watch, white face with a brown leather strap.

"Thanks dad," Lucas said, engulfing his father in a tight embrace.

"Your welcome son but do me a favor and loosen the grip," his father said, groaning as Lucas quickly released his father from his grasp.

"Sorry, I forgot my own strength," Luke said, letting out a nervous chuckle.

Just then Catherine came in with plates full of food sitting them down at their places on the table.

"Eat up kiddo, you've got a big day ahead of you," Catherine said as everyone made their way to the dinner table and sat down in their prospective seats.

Downtown - 9:02 AM (PDT)

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air in the bustling coffee shop. Customers were chatting, laughing as their interactions created a lively atmosphere. The coffee shop that was deemed the best in all of Sunstone City, beating out places like Jitters and other coffee shops. The young extraordinary man walked into the coffee shop to grab some caffeine before his big interview. Of course, he didn't truly need it but he wanted it. Coffee was one of his favorite things on the entire planet, it made him feel human in a way.

He walks towards the counter with his phone in his grasp. Looking down at his phone as he walked left him vulnerable to bump into someone and that's exactly what happened allowing him to bump into someone, someone much smaller than him luckily for him, there wasn't any coffee that spilled. He looked up to see a woman standing at an average height around 5 feet 6 inches with a radiant complexion, combining the warm golden undertones of her African ancestry with the smooth, porcelain like skin associated with her Asian heritage.

Her skin glowing with a healthy radiance, reflecting her inner beauty and vitality. Her face captivating like a painted canvas in the Louvre Museum of art featuring striking almond-shaped eyes that were expressive and enigmatic. These eyes had a dark, alluring intense feel accentuated by long, fluttering lashes that frame the rich brown eyes reflecting her diverse heritage. Her perfectly arched thick and lush eyebrows effortlessly compliment her eyes, adding a touch of elegance and sophicaly to her overall appearance. Her nose possessing a graceful and refined shape, combing the distinctive features of both African and Asian ancestry.

Her lips, full and inviting, exuding a natural sensuality. Boasting a plushness that demands attention with a shape that is beautifully defined alluringly soft with a delicate, pinkish hue. Her beautifully conquered cheekbones, adding a touch of elegance to her face, creating a subtle play of light and shadow that accentuates her facial structure. Her beautiful long hair is a magnificent testament to her mixed heritage, showcasing a rich variety of textures and colors. Long and voluminous, cascading in waves that frame her face and accentuate her features in a dark, glossy black with natural highlights of brown that seemingly capture the light. Her curvaceous figure, seemingly a celebration of femininity and strength captures the essence of her hourglass silhouette with a well-defined waist that gracefully transitions into her shapely hips. Her curves are soft and inviting, exuding confidence and sensuality.

"Damn," he said thinking that he was whispering but his statement was very audible allowing it to be heard by everyone including her.

"What?"

"Uh-nothing," he said as he let out a nervous chuckle, "I'm sorry I wasn't watching where I was going," he apologized, still enamored by her beauty.

"It's alright. Shit happens. Are you okay?" she said flashing her beautiful smile, a smile worth a million dollars, hell probably more.

"Yeah, I'm fine. And again, I'm really sorry about that I should've been looking," he said as her smile widened, eyes sparkling with warmth.

"Well be careful next time, you never know who you'll run into," she said, teasing him as she raised a brow.

Lucas chuckled nervously, feeling a mix of embarrassment and attraction.

"I'll keep that in mind. I'm Lucas," He said, extending his hand out, still captivated by her beauty.

"Nice to meet you too, Lucas. I'm Maya."

The pair shake hands and a jolt of electricity seemingly pass between them. The young man seemingly finds himself unable to look away from Maya's radiant presence.

"Maya, that's a beautiful name. It suits you."

Maya blushed slightly, her confidence momentarily faltering at the young man's attempts to flirt.

"Thank you Lucas. I hate to cut this short but I have a story to write. I'm a reporter for the Sunstone City Chronicle, maybe I'll see you again one day. Don't bump into any other girls while I'm gone," she said, winking at him before walking on making her way out of the coffee shop leaving him standing there with a small smile on his face.

ATLAS Corporate Office - Sunstone City, CA - 9:30 AM (PDT)

A sleek and modern corporate office with glass walls and bustling employees. The reception area was pristine, adorned with the company logo of stylized depiction of a globe encircled by a ring with ATLAS written across the front. A nervous yet determined Lucas Rayne sat in the sitting area going through his notes.

"Mr. Rayne? They're ready to see you now. Good luck!" The receptionist said, calling his name.

Lucas rose up to his feet, taking a deep breath as he gathered his belongings and walked towards the interview room. The door swung open, revealing a spacious conference room with a large glass table with a panel of three professionals from ATLAS Labs sitting across.

Sitting at the head of the table was Dr. Margaret Harris, the brilliant and accomplished CEO of ATLAS Labs. To her left was James Robinson, the head of the renowned R&D Department and to her right was Lucy Parker, the head of Human Resources.

"Welcome, Mr. Rayne. I'm Dr. Margaret Harris, CEO of Atlas Labs. Please have a seat," said the young CEO of the company with a warm smile. If Luke had to guess she was probably in her mid-30s judging by the fact that her skin was damn near wrinkless and she still looked like she had just finished college yesterday.

Luke nodded gratefully and took a seat, nerves gradually settling. It was hard to believe that he had the abilities he had and felt powerless just about right now.

"We're excited to have you here today. Your academic achievements and references speak volumes about your potential. We're eager to learn more about your skills and how they align with our company's mission," James said enthusiastically. Lucy nodded as she listened to her partner's words.

"Indeed ATLAS Labs is at the forefront of scientific innovation. We focus on pushing boundaries, exploring new technologies and solving complex problems. Tell us what motivated you to apply for a position with us?"

Lucas straightened up, exuding confidence.

"First off I would like to begin by saying thank you for having me. ATLAS Labs reputation for groundbreaking research and the opportunity to work alongside some of the most brilliant minds is one of the things that drew me to this company. Another one, I've always been fascinated by the potential of technology to revolutionize the world and I believe that ATLAS is on the forefront of that movement. And ever since I was a young kid, the only thing I have ever wanted to do was save the world," Lucas said determined. Dr. Harris looked on engaged by his speech.

"That's a great perspective. We value curiosity and a hunger for knowledge as well as a desire to make our planet better. Can you share an example of a project or experience that demonstrates your ability to think outside the box and solve complex problems?"

Luke's eyes lit up, eager to share his accomplishments with a few science nerds much like himself.

"Certainly. During my final year at college, I led a team of researchers in developing an artificial intelligence algorithm that optimized energy consumption in smart cities. We analyzed vast amounts of data, identified patterns, and created a system that dynamically adjusted energy distribution. This not only reduced costs but also had a positive impact on the environment. It required a multidisciplinary approach and innovative thinking to achieve those results. I hope that I can maybe do the same for Sunstone City."

James looked on with an impressed smile on his face.

"That's impressive work, indeed. Collaboration and innovation are the cornerstones of our company. How do you envision your skills and expertise contributing to our team?" James asked.

"I believe my strong foundation in data analysis, problem-solving, and my ability to adapt to new technologies will be valuable assets to ATLAS Labs. I'm eager to work alongside experts in the field, learn from them, and contribute to the company's mission of pushing the boundaries of scientific discovery," Lucas said with a smile as he spoke confidently.

Dr. Harris exchanged a glance with her colleague as a glimmer of satisfaction coursed through her eyes.

"Well, you have certainly given us a lot to thank about. Thank you for sharing your insights and experiences, Mr. Rayne. We're impressed by your passion, your desire to make the world a safer place and your accomplishments. We'll carefully consider your application and get back to you soon," Dr. Harris said with a nod.

The young man stood up, feeling a mix of nervousness and hope.

"Thank you all for this opportunity. I'm truly excited about the prospect of joining ATLAS Labs and contributing to its groundbreaking work," Luke said right before he shook hands with the panel of executives, determination shining through.

Lucas' Apartment - 8:52 PM (PDT)

A couple of hours had passed and now the young son of the Rayne family sat inside his new apartment that he had just finished moving just a few hours ago. His studio apartment is in a vibrant neighborhood known for its convenient access to amenities, entertainment options and public transportation. It was situated in a secure residential building with easy access to nearby restaurants, shops and recreational areas.

The bedroom apartment includes a cozy sleeping area with a comfortable queen-sized bed. Large windows that provide plenty of natural light and offer views of the surrounding area. Take a few steps and you'd be in the living area furnished with a comfortable sofa, a coffee table, a wall-mounted TV. Adjacent to the living area, there was a small dining table with chairs, suitable for enjoying meals or late night work sessions on his laptop.

The apartment included a compact kitchen equipped with essential appliances and ample store space. A fridge, stovetop, microwave and a dishwasher set-up with a small breakfast bar. One basic-style private bathroom including a shower, a sink with a vanity and a toilet. And 2 closets built into the apartment, one walk-in closet and one coat closet. Just a few amenities in the building including a fitness center, laundry mat, rooftop deck, free cable and wi-fi and a communal lounge area. And for $1900 a month, it was pretty nice, walking distance from the city and not too far from his parents.

The young kid sat on the couch with his laptop in his lap as a fresh cold beer rested on a coaster on the coffee table with droplets of condensation running down the glass bottle.

The sound of an incoming message notification breaks the silence and his heart nearly skips a beat.

He quickly clicked on the email and his eyes scan the words on the screen. A smile gradually spread across his face as he read the message.

Subject: Congratulations! Welcome to ATLAS Labs

The young man's excitement reached its peak as he read the email confirming that he was offered a position at ATLAS Labs. It details the specific role they have been chosen for, and his eyes widen with delight.

The position: Research Associate, a vital role within the company's R&D team. He will have the opportunity to work alongside brilliant minds, contributing to groundbreaking projects and exploring new technologies.

Overwhelmed with joy and a sense of accomplishment being able to work for a company he dreamed of working for. Working for the same company that his mother and father worked for. The kid's face lit up with enthusiasm as the gears in his mind started to rotate thinking about his potential impact that he could have on the R&D Field across the board.

Filled with gratitude, he took a moment to appreciate the trust that ATLAS had placed in him, knowing that his hardwork and deviation had paid off. He quickly rose up to his feet and ran to his closet to grab his coat before bolting out of the door in a blur.

Rayne Household - 9:01 PM (PDT)

With a woosh, Lucas rushed into the living room where his parents were sitting on the couch together in embrace. They both rushed up to their feet looking on with looks of concern on their faces.

"Mom! Dad! Guess what? I got the job!"

Jon and Cat looked up, faces filled with anticipation and curiosity.

"Really? That's amazing, sweetheart! Congratulations! We're so proud of you!" Catherine said surprised but amazed by her son's accomplishment.

"That's incredible son! Well done kiddo! You've worked so hard and we're happy to see that it's paying off," his father said, beaming with excitement much like his son.

The young kid's eyes started to shine with joy as he shared the details of the job offer, voice filled with enthusiasm.

"Thank you, Mom and Dad! I'll be working as a Research Associate. It's an opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking projects and collaborate with brilliant scientists and researchers. I can't believe it's really happening!"

Cat got up from the couch, engulfing her son in a warm and tight embrace.

"You always said you were gonna change the world. I'm just glad you're starting to realize that dream!"

Jon rose up from his spot on the couch and walked over to his family joining in on the embrace.

"Son, this is just the beginning. Your hard work, dedication, and passion have brought you this far. We're here to support you every step of the way," Jon said with a grin as the family sat there sharing a moment of celebration, filled with love and pride. The young man's dreams have taken flight and he knew that with his parent's support, anything was possible.

Downtown - 9:32 PM (PDT)

The young man had just left his parents home and now walked along the streets of the city looking on with a smile that couldn't be wiped away simply because had finally gotten his dream job. Currently he walked along the sidewalks of Sunstone City, eyes staring down at the luminated screen of his phone.

Over his head, he could hear an airplane going above him making him look up to see a plane gliding across the sky. The plane was descending but it wasn't descending at a normal rate, it was descending rather quickly. Too quick making Lucas frown as he looked at the plane seeing one of the turbines on fire. He looked around seeing if there was a way he could discreetly go up to save the plane.

He turned down an alleyway and started to run down the alleyway to give himself a runway as he pulled off the ring and shoved it down into his pocket allowing his natural form to be present. It's been years since he had flown so he might be a little rusty. He jumped up, getting a little bit of momentum.

He landed and kept on running before jumping again.

This time floating for a few seconds before landing again.

He kept running before jumping once again and this time, he was able to defy the laws of gravity and bolt up into the air. Lucas smiled, chuckling as he flew through the air. He glanced down momentarily and could see the eyes of several civilians set on him. He smirked until it faded as he lost his wind and plummet down to the ground in the middle of the street leaving a man-sized crater in the center of the street.

Lucas grunted as he rose up to his feet after making the dent. He looked around the street seeing the civilians who were looking at him, recording him and snapping pictures of him. He took a deep breath and kneeled down allowing himself to feel the gravity bend to his will before bolting up to the sky. He made a beeline flying to the plane.

The sky was filled with cahoots as the enormous passenger plane hurtled through the air, its engine sputtering and blowing smoke. Thousands of lives hanging in the balance and Lucas wanting to do the right thing and save the innocent people to prevent the tragedy. With unwavering determination, Lucas soared through the sky.

He flew to the wing and grabbed a hold of the wing trying to stop the plane from spinning. He grunted, grinding his teeth as he pulled on the wing of the plane trying to stop the plane from spinning to his demise, putting a deep hand print on the wing as the spinning stopped. The plane stopped spinning momentarily before it started to nosedive as he ended up tearing the wing of the plane off.

Lucas positioned himself beneath the descending plane, muscles tensing in anticipation. He extended his arms, ready to exert his immense strength and halt the aircraft's deadly descent. It had been a while since he had to carry something that heavy. A plane weighing several tons, he had to try to carry the weight to save those people. He strained against the weight, a look of strain across his face. The plane proved to be heavier than he anticipated, its weight almost overwhelming but he was determined to save the day.

Gritting his teeth, he felt his muscles bulging with the effort. He looked down seeing that the ground was approaching fast but he refused to yield. He dug down deep, summoning his inner strength, tapping into strength that he thought he had lost. His determination grew with each passing moment and he refused to let the weight crush. With a primal roar, he channeled every once of his might into final push!

And then against all odds, he pushed through. The plane's descent halted, its rapid downward trajectory coming to a sudden stop. His muscle bulged with newfound vigor as he held the massive aircraft aloft. The ground beneath them trembled with relief as a wave of cheers erupted from the crowd gathered below.

Lucas' face now drenched in sweat, he maintained his grip. Despite the immense strain, he managed to gradually direct the aircraft to a safe landing spot in the center of a park. The passengers erupted into applause, faces a mix of gratitude and awe. He took a few steps away from the plane looking around.

Exhausted but triumphant, Lucas stood tall, chest heaving with exertion. A crowd of bystanders cheered as their cameras flashed, Lucas couldn't help but smile, knowing that he had prevailed as a helicopter with a light shone on him. He was in the spotlight whether or not he liked it. He just exposed himself to the public. There was no way to go back now. Sunstone City just found its guardian.

That and face claims but at the moment I don't have any face claims in mind for these characters but I hope you guys can somewhat imagine what I imagine with these characters.
