Hello Readers: And welcome to your nightly update of The Caseys. I hope that you have been enjoying the chapters that I posted for you today and are ready for one last update about Matt's birthday. Now, let's not waste time and get right to it this evening.
Chapter Three Hundred and Seventy-Six
Happy Birthday Daddy, Part Sixteen
Casey Living Room – After finishing up in the shower and getting dressed for the evening, Matt Casey couldn't wait until his wife was ready to get out here. Get out into the living room, where his four beautiful children were waiting for him to continue celebrating his birthday. So much so, that he told his wife that he was not going to be waiting around; and that once he was dressed, that he was going to be leaving so that he could go be in the living room with their children. And that's precisely what Matt did, he got dressed and made his way out to the living room where his children were waiting to keep celebrating his birthday with him. Well, just as soon as he got Andy all situated. Because the last thing that Matt wanted to do, was have his service dog attack his children; not that he would ever do such a thing, because Andy is the sweetest dog in the entire world. He truly does remind him about his late best friend, which is just another reason why he believed it truly was faith that they were paired up together when they first met in Hawaii months ago.
And now, they go everywhere together; and I mean everywhere. Heck, there are even sometimes where Matt has to tell him to lay down because he wants to follow him. Like the times where he went to go to the bathroom, which most certainly is one of the times where Matt doesn't need his service dog to be with him. And the truth was, he didn't need him at the moment either as he was going to spend some time with his children. More specifically, he was going to be spending some time with his namesake as he was currently crawling up to him the moment he saw him come into the room. "Hey lil' man. Is there a reason why you decided that you want to come see me right away?" Smiling as he looked up at his daddy, Matteo put his arms out due to the fact that he most certainly did want something. And that would be some attention from his father, which he most certainly will get just as soon as he brings his iPad (and keyboard) over to where he was going to sit. Because that was something that he needed to do right now, before he got Matteo.
He needed to set his electronics down, in the place where he was going to sit; and where he most certainly was going to be very comfortable, as he sat down on the couch with his little boy in his arms. "Uh oh, I see the keyboard that you brought out with you Matthew." Turning his head to look at Camila as she said that, Matt snickered as he made his way over to her so that he can hug her. "It's just in case. If I need to reply to an e-mail, I can do it from here in the living room; I don't have to go to my office this time around." Camila agreed with Matt as he told her that, as that made a lot of sense as to what he was doing; he just wanted to be ready just in case he did have to do business at the end of the day. "But god willing, I am not going to have to do any business right now as I would much rather be here and concentrate on what really matters at the end of the day. And that would be these beautiful children here." Camila agreed with Matt as he said that, as that most certainly is something that she believes that the father should do.
He should spend time with his children on his birthday, yet that didn't mean that she didn't understand why he needed to spend a bit of time in bed with Gabby when she needed him to take it easy and just relax with her. But now, they were out here; and she hoped that they were going to stay out here. "So, how long are you guys planning on staying out here this time around?" Matt snickered as he heard Camila say that, well aware that they often go back and forth to their room constantly; but she has no need to worry right now, as he and Gabby don't plan on going anywhere. They were both planning on staying here, with their children until they themselves put them to bed. After which, they will go to bed too and just take it easy. "You have nothing to worry about, as we're going to be staying out here until we put the kids to bed." Camila just looked at the father (and birthday boy) as he said that, not honestly believing him due to the fact that he always says that; but one person whom she will believe, is her daughter.
Because she knew that she always got the unvarnished truth from her. "Mom, stop giving my birthday boy husband the side-eye. We are staying out here until we put the kids to bed, and that's final. Please do not make me kick you out as well." Turning to look at Gabby, Matt then proceeded to wrap his arm around her before kissing the side of her head as they both held each other close. "Hey, take it easy and just relax babe. You are worrying for nothing." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that was the case. She was worrying for no reason, which was causing her to get a bit agitated, which isn't something that she wants on Matt's birthday. "Sorry about that." Matt shook his head, as he also didn't want his wife to apologize to him. If anything, that was the last thing that he wanted her to do. "Here, do you want to sit together on the couch and watch TV? Because I can set Matteo back down in his play area." Gabby shook her head as Matt asked her that question, as he looked very adorable as he held his son in his arms today.
So much so, that she decided to get close to him and wrap her arm around his back, before leaning up and kissing her husband softly. "I love you." Matt agreed with Gabby as he wrapped his arm around her back as well, just taking things nice and slow with the woman of his dreams as they both held each other close for a moment; after which, he pressed his lips to her forehead as they both just held each other for a moment. Something that they both needed right now. After which, Gabby let Matt go so that she can go sit down and relax. "You already put Andy out?" Matt shook his head. "I think that he should be okay, or do you want me to put him out?" Gabby bit her lip. "I think he should be okay. However, I think that I want something else." Matt was confused. "What else do you want? We're already out here with the kids." Gabby smiled as Matt asked her that, as there was something else that she wanted; to cuddle up to him as they sat together on the couch. And that most certainly was one thing that Matt was going to want to give her, every time.
And if he didn't realize that, then it seemed like she was going to need to point it out to her husband (whom she loves like crazy regardless). "Wow, you still don't know how I like to sit with you on our couch." Matt snickered as he heard Gabby say that, well aware that was what she was talking about. "I should've known that was what you were talking about, sorry that I didn't." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before walking back over to him and cuddling up to him; after which, she put her hand on his face and started to take things nice and slow with the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware of the fact that she loves him. "So, am I going to be setting this little guy back down so that we can cuddle up to each other?" Gabby agreed with Matt, as that's exactly what she wanted to do with her husband; she wanted to cuddle up to him. Well, right after she went to fill up their water bottles. "I'll get us some more water first, you sit down." Matt agreed.
Because even though it was his birthday, the last thing that he was going to do was disobey his wife when she's the woman he loves more than anything in the entire world, the mother of his children, his beautiful wife, and the love of his life. His forever.
She was back from the kitchen with the water that she went to get herself and Matt, which was the last thing that she needed to get ahead of joining the man she loves as he sat on the couch looking quite comfortable. "I have to say, you do look quite comfortable there on our couch." Turning his head as he heard Gabby say that, Matt smirked as he most certainly was very comfortable as he sat down on the couch; while also waiting for her to sit down with him, so that they could cuddle up to each other on his birthday. "I think we both know that I'm still waiting for something, or should I say someone to help make me much more comfortable. Oh, and I already connected my iPad to the TV in case you want to steam anything. I mean, if that's okay with you Camila." Camila agreed with Matt as he asked her whether it was okay, as it most certainly was. "Matt, of course it's okay; if you want to watch TV, then go ahead." Matt agreed with Camila as she said that, glad that she was okay with them watching TV if they wanted to watch TV together.
But the truth was, he was probably just going to take it easy and relax right now. "I think I might just take it easy right now, as I hold my beautiful wife close to me and watch my children play." However, Gabby was quite interested in watching some TV. "Maybe it would be a good idea to have something playing, if just in the background baby. Might bring up some nice conversations that we can have, should things get a bit awkward." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was something which could easily happy if things got too quiet out here; things could get awkward, which is the last thing that they wanted to have happen when her mom is here with them. "I think we can leave it on the music channel maybe. I remember reading somewhere that kids shouldn't watch too much TV." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, as she remembers reading that as well. "Right, I remember reading that somewhere too. Now I get why you don't want the TV on." Matt agreed with Gabby as he reached for his water bottle.
After which, he opened it and proceeded to take a sip of the water that Gabby got for him. "I appreciate you getting us some water, by the way." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before looking at him. "Yes, but I don't think I gave you permission to grab the water bottle yet." Matt then realized why that was the case, as she wasn't in his lap yet. So, he went ahead and did what he needed to do to remedy that fact. He set his water to the side, while also opening the covers so that his beautiful wife could cuddle up to him here on the couch. "I think we both know what you want to do right now, and that means that you need to sit your ass down now Ms. Casey." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before moving to do just that. She proceeded to sit down in between his legs like he wanted so that she could get all comfortable with him, which is exactly what she did while leaning back against his chest. "Now this is already comfortable." Matt agreed with Gabby as he watched her roll over so that she was leaning against his chest just like he wanted.
After all, he always loves it when Gabby cuddles up to him like this; especially due to the fact that Gabby is very comfortable. "So, do you want me to put anything on the TV here?" Looking up at Matt, Gabby bit her lip as she wasn't sure whether she wanted to expose the kids to screen time. "Should we really expose the kids to screens yet?" Camila then went ahead and spoke up, as that was something that she was worried about as well. "Yeah, I have been meaning to talk to you guys about that too. What are you guys doing when it comes to screen time with your children?" Matt bit his lip as he started to think about it, before turning his head and looking down at Gabby. "Yeah, what are we doing when it comes to screen time?" Looking up at Matt, Gabby bit her lip before deciding that they should just take it easy and relax. Honestly, she could just go for them talking for a bit due to the fact that she hasn't spoken to her mom much. "Honestly, I could just go for talking to my mom. Haven't done that in a while." Matt agreed.
He then proceeded to bend down and kiss the top of her head, an action that made Gabby smile like always; so much so, that she also turned her head and looked up at the man she loves (which then prompted Matt to bend down and kiss her softly as they both took things nice and slow with each other even though they weren't alone). "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, well aware that he loves her. And she also loves the shirt that he's wearing, as it is very comfortable. She just loves cuddling up to him as he wears this shirt, while he wraps his arm around her back and kisses the top of her head, which is what he's in the midst of doing right now. He's kissing the top of her head, as they both hold each other close on the couch. "I hope you know that I love it when you kiss the top of my head." Matt agreed with Gabby, as he most certainly does know that she loves it when he kisses the top of her head. There's just something about the feeling that comes with him kissing the top of her head that always puts a smile on her face.
And honestly, that's the reason that Matt doe sit. He kisses the top of her head because he knows that it makes her smile; because he knows that it makes her want to smile, and just relax as she lies here in his arms while they spend time with each other on the living room couch. It's the best feeling in the entire world, just the way Matt's strong arms wrap themselves around her the entire time; it makes her want to do this as much as she can. So, that's what she plans on doing during the pandemic. "Promise me that if you work tomorrow, we can do it in bed as we hold each other like this? I actually really like this feeling of you holding me in your arms like this." Matt laughed as he heard Gabby say that, well aware that was something that he most certainly could very much do. "I think maybe I made a mistake making a real office, because I am certain that I am just going to be working from bed a majority of the time." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, as that most certainly is something that she can see the both of them doing when they work.
Or at least, if they have to work. They'll work from the comfort of their bed, so that they can be all cozy and comfortable in bed with each other like they are right now; and that was actually something that Camila decided to speak to her daughter about. "By the way, I hope you guys know that I am here to help in whatever way I can whenever you guys need to work; regardless of where that is." Gabby laughed as she heard her mom say that, as that was literally what she was just thinking about. "Funny enough, I was literally just thinking about that. And I was thinking about how I really regret making an office out of that room. I could just work in bed." Gabby shook her head. "Not all the time, as I do not want to hear you talking to people in Japan at 2 in the morning." Matt agreed with Gabby as she said that, while Camila as confused as to why her son-in-law would have to speak to people in Japan. "Japan?" Matt sighed. "it's where we may be getting some of the material for Casey Apparel. We're still shopping around for stuff." Camila agreed.
After all, she has just been finding stuff online. "Honestly, most of the things that I am making as prototypes has been using fabric that I have been buying online at Amazon, or at thrift stores that I find. I hope that's okay." Gabby agreed with her mother, as that was more than okay. "Mom, that's more than okay. Remember, these are just prototypes. They aren't the final products, as those are going to be made by professionals. Not that yours don't look professionally made." Camila agreed with Gabby as she said that, well aware that was the case. "Thank you very much sweetheart." Gabby smiled as she heard her mom say that. "Wait, are you just saying that so that you can have more time alone with Matt later?" Gabby shook her head, as that most certainly isn't what she was doing. "Mom, if I wanted to be alone with Matt…I would pick up the kids and bring them to our room. They can play on the floor while we cuddle in bed; as I want my husband to spend some time with his children on his first birthday as a father." Camila agreed with Gabby.
After all, that most certainly is something that the two of them already agree on; the fact that Matt wants to be with his children on his birthday. "And how are you enjoying your first birthday as a father Matt?" Smiling, Matt was very happy as he spent his first birthday as a father. "I have been loving it so far, especially the time that I've been getting where I am all cuddled up to the woman I love more than anything in the entire world." Turning her head, Gabby smirked as they've done much more than cuddle. "Last time I checked, we've done a lot more than just cuddle when we're in bed sweetheart." Turning his head, Matt smirked as that most certainly is the truth. "Now if that isn't the truth." Gabby agreed with Matt, as she leaned up and kissed him softly; after which, she turned her head and looked at her mother so that she could apologize. "Sorry about all the kissing mom." Camila shook her head, as she knew that she wasn't really sorry. "Yeah, save the apologies when you don't really mean them." Gabby laughed, as that was true.
She most certainly doesn't mean any of the apologies when it comes to kissing her husband, simply due to the fact that she loves kissing her husband more than anything in the entire world; especially since he's the love of her life, and the father of her children. Something that Matt most certainly knows by the number of kisses that he's currently in the midst of giving her, kisses that she most certainly does love the feeling of. As she will always love the feeling of his soft lips on her forehead. God, the way he gives her attention is perfect. However, that didn't mean that she had his attention right now as it seemed that his phone also had his attention since it just dinged. "If that's an e-mail, then I am not going to be happy that you read it." Matt agreed with Gabby. "Well, that's a text ding my dear." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, while watching as he proceeded to grab his phone to check his texts.
TEXT MESSAGE THREAD – Jay Halstead & Matthew Casey
J: Just remembered that it was your birthday. Happy birthday Matt. How's Diego?
M: Thanks Jay, and I think that Diego is going to be okay based on what we have. How are you guys?
J: Things are great here. Taking it easy with the kids.
M: And Will? He still COVID-free?
J: He most certainly is, or else he wouldn't be with our kids.
M: Oh, Will and Natalie are visiting you right now?
J: No, but he has visited in the past. I just mean, hypothetically.
M: Ok. Well, you let me know if you guys need anything. And I mean it, as I am here to help.
J: Can you magically make my problems with H.V. go away? SOAB is a PITA!
M: Seriously? You bring HIM up on my birthday? And PITA?
J: LOL. PITA: Pain in the Ass!
M: LOL. Yeah, that makes sense now.
J: Yet, I need to stay on good terms with him for the sake of my children.
M: The things we do for our wives and children.
J: IKR?
Looking over her husband's shoulder, Gabby turned her head and glared at her husband. "The things you do for you wife and children?" Looking at Gabby, Matt got nervous. "Babe, I was just making…" Gabby just looked at her husband. "I love you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, leaning in before kissing the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. After which, she cuddled up to him again; while at the same time, her mother was confused. "What was that all about?" Gabby smiled. "Oh, just my husband texting a friend 'the things you do for your wife and children' when he should move heaven and earth to make them happy." Camila agreed with Gabby as she said that, as that most certainly is the truth; and will always be the truth when it comes to what you should do for the woman you love. "I agree with you there Gabriela." Gabby agreed with her mom, smiling at her as she was happy. After which, she turned her head and looked up at Matt. "So, have you decided what you want for birthday supper?" Matt smiled.
"I was thinking that we could just order in, and take it easy when it comes to my birthday."
Camila looked at Matt as he said that. "I thought that I was making you your favorite pasta?" Matt then realized that. "Right." Camila smiled as she heard Matt say that, before looking at him as she also checked the time. "Speaking of which, I just realized something. What's with the kids being awake? I thought they were supposed to go down for a nap before now." Camila smiled. "I thought that I would put them down early, so that they were awake when you were awake. I had a feeling that you would be down here around this time." Matt agreed with Camila, as he really does have a smart mother-in-law. "Smart." Camila then added on. "However, the girls are still asleep." Gabby agreed with her mom as she said that. "Then how about me and you go get the girls Matt? We can bring them down." Matt agreed with Gabby, as that sounds great. "Mom, can you just watch the boys for one more minute til' we're back?" Gabby then proceeded to get up as that was what she needed to do ahead of them going to get the girls, while her mom answered.
"Of course I can sweetheart, go get the girls today."
Matt agreed with Camila as she said that, before getting up and reaching for his wife's hand. "Let's go do just that, ahead of us spending more time with the kids down here." Gabby agreed with Matt as she grabbed Matt's hand, before leading him upstairs to the girls' nursery.. And funny enough, they just heard them cry. "What are the odds?" Matt laughed as they both walked together to get the girls in their nursery so that they can get time with them ahead of supper.
