Sora never was good at owing people favours. That meant someone had expectations of him.
If he just showed up and helped out with some random quest, it would mean they'd owe him a favour and he could just be happy having helped out.
But now Elsa expected him to learn to dance, just to please some emperor.
And with his clown feet it was better said than done.
Still, he'd tried. Apparently this dance had nothing to do with flamingos, and everything to do massive poofy clothes, moving to the feel of the music - whatever that meant - and a lot of clicking.
Finding someone to teach him wasn't so simple. Sure, he could look up all the information he needed in Belle's library, but without a convenient princess to teach him the practical side of it, he was as good as useless anyway.
Yuffie straight up refused. Apparently it was unbecoming of a ninja to dance.
That meant there was only one person for the job.
"Okay, and step, one two, twirl, one two, step again… good." Leon nodded with approval. Hands intertwined with Sora's, his trademark icy glare could've been softer, but Sora was getting a feel for it from his imperious commands.
Dressed up in some sharp uniform Sora had never seen before, a military pewter with golden regalia, he wasn't the first choice. Apparently an expert in dancing, though.
"So uh, not that I'm complaining," Sora muttered. "But why do I have to wear a dress?"
The atmosphere had been weird ever since he'd shown up in it. Cid immediately stood up from the computer chair and grabbed a bottle of whiskey, while Donald wouldn't stop snickering like a broken radiator.
"Because it won't fit me." Leon didn't even bat an eyelash. "Besides, Aerith likes it."
"I could watch you two dance forever!" She gasped, all starry eyed.
"…maybe a little too much." Leon said. "Anyway, that's the basics Sora. It's ballroom, not flamenco, but honestly you'll be fine. Just take some castanets and this Kuzco guy'll love you."
"Uh huh. And Elsa?"
"Hard to tell, she actually has standards." Leon put a hand to his chin. "Welp, you had a week to learn how to dance, Sora. She won't be expecting miracles, I'm sure."
"That's true," Sora hung his head. "I don't owe you a favour for this now, do I?"
"Nah, you've suffered enough." Leon smirked. "Tell you what, get me a hotdog and we'll call it even."
Sora cocked his head. "Oddly specific, but sure! It's a date!"
And finally, Sora got one over on him. Blushing the shade past crimson, Leon just waved him away.
Practically tearing off the dress the moment he could - apparently the royal blue suited him - he changed into his normal clothes, silenced Donald with a look, and started making preparations for another trip to Arendelle.
