"Finally!" I groaned, glad to stop the act and finally stop being a jackass. Serena hurried over to her friends to untie them and made sure they were okay
"Why are you asking us that?! Are YOU okay?!" Trevor asked
"I'm fine, Trevor. Calm down" she said in her cool tone that relaxes my mind after being mind controlled
"Okay..." he calmed down and glared over at me "Hey! Battle me for real this time! Don't pull that cheap shot like earlier and fight me like a man!" I removed my glasses and sighed
"I'm not interested in battling" I said
"You were the one that-" Shauna patted his shoulder to stop him before coming to face me
"Was this all an act?" She asked me "What kind of demoralization is this that you had Serena tied up like a sex slave with all those hickys on her neck like you're some vampire" I hid my blush by looking away "Why didn't you tell us this was an act?"
"That was my fault" Serena waved her hand "I was going to tell you after telling you everything about Team Flare's plan, but my phone died. Sorry!"
"And using the holocaster is out the question since it uses data to store trainers personal information" I explained "It's best to not use it for now. If you were smart, you'd tell your other friend about this soon. I implanted a bug into the system to keep the Ulimate weapon from firing sooner. The plan was to wait for Lysandre to arrive so we can find the source of power of this weapon and stop it"
"Source of power?" Shauna asked
"You expect us to believe you?!" Trevor glared "You expect me to believe you after what you put Serena through?!"
"I was wrong to have done what I did before to her, and I apologize" I said "I only did it for her protection. It's not a good excuse, but-" Trevor looked like he was about to punch me before his hand was forced back
"Serena!" Trevor gasped at her holding her hand out to stop him "What are you doing?! Don't you remember the abuse you went through in Frost Cavern?!"
"If I was seriously hurt, I wouldn't be so willing to be with him, Trevor" she released him to come and hug my arm "He's my boyfriend now" she smiled proudly, shocking him
"Are you insane...? Did you not hear what I just said?" Shauna got in between us again
"Oh Serena... you lovesick fool" she sighed "I always found it strange how you were lovey dovy when it came to Calem, and you went as far as to bring him to our side"
"What?! I call bullshit!" Trevor shouted
"It's true!" Serena smiled "we promised each other as kids that we were going to marry, so I made sure he stuck to his word! There was no way I was going to lose him to something like this! His vibrations have potential, and I was drawn to his power for a very long time"
"Calem has abilities?" Shauna gasped
"This isn't the time. Now that Lysandre is here, we can go in to find the source of energy as soon as possible. He would be the only one to have access to the secret room via passcode and finger print. No time to lose" I approached the elevator for it to open "Luckily this suit has access to the base doors" Serena cheered and hurried to follow me inside, followed by Shauna as well
"Wait! Are you serious! Shauna! You're allowing this!?" Trevor shouted from outside the elevator being held open by her
"Remember what we talked about, Trevor" Trevor slowly dropped his shoulders
"Fine..." I removed my jacket to throw at him
"We may need your help, so use that to come through the elevator" I said. Shauna let go of the doors so the elevator can close and take us to where we need to go
"You two are impossible" Shauna sighed and turned to Serena still hugging my arm "So, does this mean you're on our side?" I nodded
"Yes. As much as I can" she looked a bit annoyed at me while rubbing on her ears
"What's wrong?" Serena asked "does your ears hurt?"
"Air travel" we finally arrived to the Secret HQ and walked into a wide open room with many employees on computers, rushing to dig through codes I made it almost impossible to fix.
"Lysandre!" Serena shouted, pulling me along, never releasing me from earlier "You really think it's easy for me to stay captive in that cage like a wild Pokémon, huh?!" She glared
"Hm? Were you so troublesome that my best employee couldn't even handle you?" Lysandre looked at me "but it seems that there was nothing needed to be handled since apparently he was a spy" he chuckled "Oh Calem, bouncing back and forth on our sides can be draining, can it? I'll give you a chance since you've been so helpful to us since the beginning. You're such a bright young man. Ever since I found you in the street, you had so much potential. I'm not going to lose that so easily. Come back to us, now" I flinched at the demand, unable to deny him again
"No! Don't listen to him!" Serena shouted at me, bringing me back again. This went on for some time, one side demanding and the other pleading. I got dizzy and collapsed into Shauna's arms catching me
"Calem!" She gasped
"Little girl! Give him to us!" Lysandre shouted
"What? Why would I do that?" She sassed
"You're immune to his mind control?!" Serena gasped
"Say that again?" She rubbed her ears "I barely heard yah" she can barely hear her... so she barely heard Lysandre's demand. If I had some ear plugs, that would keep me from falling into the danger of going back to the wrong side
"I'm not going to waste anymore time on this" Lysandre snorted and looked back at the window looking at something we couldn't see "The Ultimate Weapon's flower has finally bloomed above the soil. As we speak, it draws its energy from the Legendary Pokémon."
"Legendary Pokémon...?" Serena gasped "We're not going to let you use that deadly weapon!"
"Even the resources, space and energy on this planet are limited number of people and Pokémon has increased to an unsustainable level" I gulped, having no choice but to listen to his voice, feeling too lightheaded to fight back or even move "whether it's money or energy, the ones who steal or the ones who win in this world"
"That's right" I shakily stood up "The ones who steal and kill are the ones who win in this world and get away with it" I subconsciously covered my ears to follow back to Lysandre's side. Serena kept yelling at me, but I was unaffected by her healing.
"These things you're all saying... that doesn't give you the right to destroy everyone but the ones Team Flare chooses!" Serena shouted. Admin Rin came over to me to give me ear plugs so I can put them on
"Here, you'll need these" her voice softened before gesturing me to follow her
"Perfect" I followed her to one of the computers to remove the bug I implanted "Bug had been removed"
"No! Calem!" Serena shouted, sobbing and hurrying over to me, but Shauna kept her away
"Serena! Stop! Focus! We'll get him back!" She shouted. I walked up to Lysandre to tell him the good news
"I expect nothing less" he smiled "I understand your frustrations better than anyone. The only way to create a world where people live in beauty, a world without conflict or theft, is to reduce the number of living things" I kneeled to him, glorifying his brilliance
"So, tell me" He faced Serena again "this young man. You have no intention on sharing him, do you? You've dragged him away from our side, even though he was under my control for the pass few years. Debating what to choose, you can only choose one. When there is only one of something, it can't be shared. When something can't be shared, it will be fought over. And when something is fought over, some must survive without it" Serena's face slowly started to look horrid and in panic
"No... no..." she shook her head and shouted above her lungs "I can't survive like that! I CAN'T! Give him back!" She shouted as loud as she could, breaking a few of my coworkers ear drums "Die! DIE! YOU GOOD FOR NOTHING BASTARD!" Lysandre lost balance and held his head in pain.
Serena shouted at the ceiling, raging hell and crying a storm. Shauna tried controlling her and settling her down by shouting that it'll be alright, but she wouldn't stop
"Calem! CALEM!" She shouted "Come back!" Objects started flying around the room in all directions. I kept my eyes on Serena's panic attack and red face devastated at my absence. What is going on..?
"Boss!" I gasped at Lysandre wincing in pain
"Enough of this!" He shouted, covering his head from the flying objects "If I give you back this boy, will you give up on trying to ruin our plans?" Serena immediately stopped crying and gasped with wide eyes
"Yes!"
"Serena!" Shauna shouted. Lysandre groaned at his headache and gestured his head to go to her. I nodded and went over to Serena holding her arms out to me. I kneeled to hold her close and feel how much she was shaking. This girl...
"Calem..." she cried, sounding a bit louder than I heard her before, but couldn't pass the sound blockage from the ear plugs "I love you... I love you more than anything" I was still her enemy, only here because I was told too, but my body knew that I didn't like that she was acting like this. I kept getting flashes of memories in my head of this girl standing by a cliff with a relieved look on her face, then at a blink of an eye, vanished.
I moved to the side and vomited from my dizziness "Calem..." Serena took my face once I was done, giving me better access to look at how beautiful she was "Calm down... please" I looked around at so many flying objects that people had to leave to run for cover
"What do you mean?" I asked "Boss said to come here. So I'm here" Shauna pulled out one of my ear plugs and shouted into my ear
"You're a fucking idiot, You know?!" I shouted at the volume and glared at her
"You little-!"
"Calem!" I froze and looked back at Serena frowning at me "Please calm down!" I felt my body finally settle and made the objects drop to the floor "Are you okay?" I held her cheeks
"What about you? What's... gotten into you? Do I really mean that much to you?" She smiled weakly
"Of course. I'm nothing without you" I didn't like the sound of that, but needed to put it to the side and put the ear plug back on just in case
"Lysandre fled. We need to go after him" Shauna said. I brought Serena back on her feet and supported her and myself to run after Lysandre by running down some stairs and battling some grunts as well trying to stop us.
The first set of grunts were battled by Tierno who came along with Trevor at the nick of time.
"You both came at a perfect time!" Shauna said "Lysandre should be at the bottom of these chambers"
"And that's where the legendary Pokémon should be located" I said
"Don't think I'm going to accept you just because you did something that wasn't so bad!" Trevor huffed at me "We'll settle this like men when this is all over!" I smirked and nodded, taking up the challenge
Trevor fell behind to battle another set of grunts to allow us to keep going. Later on it was Shauna's turn and it was just me and Serena now facing an electronic lock of a large red door with the team's logo on it. I held my stomach in pain and threw up again
"What hurt?" Serena gasped, making sure I didn't have any hair on my face
"Sorry... it's just from what happened earlier between your voice and Lysandre..." the dizziness really got to me
"Using abilities over and over on someone would make it feel like you're riding on a roller coaster from what I heard" she patted my back
"Serena..." I looked over my shoulder at her "What happened earlier... that" she frowned and looked back at Shauna hurrying over to us
"Took care of those guys! Hopefully the boys aren't struggling!" She leaned down to check on me "You doing alright?"
"Yeah... it's just a bit overwhelming. Being mind controlled and healed over and over takes a toll out of yah" she looked at Serena confused
"I'll explain later" we turned back to the electronic lock and I used the passcode I found in Xerosic journal to open it
"Nice!" Shauna laughed "You've always been pretty smart, haven't yah? You had so much potential, Calem. I can see why Lysandre wanted you so badly" I slowly nodded, finally seeing that potential I never considered being something, which ended up being an ability that absorbs knowledge like a sponge or computer.
"Let's go in now" Serena pushed the door open and ran in first. We followed behind and stared up at a machine holding the horns of a tree of life inside.
"Give me a minute to deactivate this" I ran to the machine but immediately got pushed down by one of my admins coming from behind the machine, along with a lot more others coming to stop us
"I'm disappointed in you" one of the admins said "You've helped us get this far, and you back out just like that?"
"How problematic, but you also removed the bug from the computers, so we'll go easy on you. As for your friend over there" they turned to Serena "she look away many members from us, like you. I don't know how convincing she is, but it's their lost. You won't back down in numbers this time!"
"The ultimate weapon has taken 99 percent of the legendary Pokémon's energy, but just to make double sure nothing goes wrong, let's take these runts down!"
"No! I hate being chased!" Shauna shouted as Serena covered for her "Calem! Do something!"
"Your power is a lot more powerful than mine. Use it like you used it on me at the other headquarters" Serena said, winking. I cleared my throat and moved everyone to the side with my levitation ability
"Out the way!" I hurried pass them to start working on the computer while the girls started battling the admins trying to stop me. By shutting down the download data taking the legendary Pokémon's energy, it caused a sudden quake to appear around us.
"Run for it!" The admins hurried out. I hurried to the girls to make sure they were okay
"We're fine!" Shauna said. A sudden screaming was coming from the machine, or legendary Pokémon. Serena winced and held her forehead in pain.
The ground was shaking harder. I kept my arms around the girls so they wouldn't get hurt and the watched the legendary Pokémon escape the machine in majestic light before landing on the ground and scream out in a cry.
Serena collapsed down to our bodies "Serena!" Shauna and I gasped. She was unconscious and wouldn't wake from soft slaps on the cheek "She won't wake up! What's happened!?" Shauna panicked. I hurried to face the legendary Pokémon to keep it from getting close to them "What are you doing?!" I dug in my pocket and took out the reward I received long ago from creating the system I destroyed; a Master ball
