Chapter 19: The curtain calls
Cloud began to pass over the academy. Sora had a horse prepared and Louise was following them. The two were informed by Agnès that there was indeed a traitor in the castle. The counselor of legal affairs…
"So the counselor of legal affairs is working with Albion." Sora asked Louise as she followed him on foot.
"That's right. Agnès got confirmation from Michelle that night. She said that he's responsible for the recent events that had been happening. And if we're lucky we might also find the spy we're looking for." Louise said to Sora who was lost in thought.
"Michelle…I can't believe she was an enemy this whole time." Sora said
"Goes to show you that people really can be more than one person." Louise said "But what worries me is what happened to Michelle afterwards."
"You mean how she disappeared into a dark corridor and Xemnas showed up in the school too?" Louise nodded her head.
Agnès came barging into her room the other night and immediately woke Sora up, telling him that the one he called Xemnas showed his face in the academy. Sora was shocked to hear that he would show himself here and have Michelle disappearing into a dark corridor as well.
Sora stopped towing the horse and began pondering. "Well, back at the lake they said they were recruiting new members. So maybe…"
Louise followed up knowing what he was thinking "Maybe they saw her as a candidate."
"Yeah that might be the idea." Sora said to Louise looking at her face to face. "But what I'm concerned about is Agnès."
"Why her?" The pink haired explosion mage asked.
"Well I'm only guessing, but I think they might also see her to fill out their ranks."
Louise said in disbelief "No, no they couldn't."
"Yeah they could. Remember how she told us how her village was burned down to the ground, and that she alone survived." Sora recalled Agnès' story. "I could see the look she had in her eyes. Pure desire for revenge, I'm positive they know her situation too and they want to take advantage of that."
"They wouldn't—"
"They would, believe me. They always know what buttons to press. And they know how to keep you wrapped around their fingers." Sora thought.
"So is there any way to help Wales?" Louise asked. She wondered if there was something that they could do to set him free.
"Just two… and one of them does involve fighting Wales. When a heartless and the nobody of the person are defeated, then they become recompleted." That or let them grow their own hearts since they became nobodies but they wouldn't believe it. The lies told to them from the organization likely took root. So it is likely that
Louise heard sounds like Sora will have to fight them regardless. But could he do it alone? Was there any way for her to help? She didn't want him to shoulder this by himself.
"You two!" Just as they were about to resume, Sora and Louise were called out by someone, the two turned to the side and saw Elèanor and Cattleya, Louise two older sisters approaching them.
"Cattleya!" Louise called out.
"Elèanor?" Sora said, greeting the eldest.
"Where are you two going?" Elèanor asked.
Louise answered her sister "We're going into town."
Elèanor narrowed her eyes to her younger sister. She asked if it had anything to do with the other night. Louise looked to the side not wanting to answer, but her name was called out as Sora lightly tapped her shoulder and he said to let her stand up for herself for once.
Louise took a deep breath and said yes…yes it does. They were going into town to help draw out a spy from Albion so they were to go into town and wait for instructions. Cattleya asked where they were supposed to meet. Sora happened to have a place in mind where they could talk, a certain shop that one of their friends' father owns.
Louise knew who he was talking about and where, 'the charming fairy inn' of all the places for them to go to, why that place, Louise still has bad memories of working there. But there was nowhere else she thought of, as much as she did despite the idea she had no choice but to agree.
"Well you can forget about it." Elèanor said to Louise.
"You are a proud daughter of Duke de la Vallière, you shouldn't be wasting your time with this. Just let someone else deal with it, or just have your familiar handle this." Elèanor replied bluntly
"But…" Louise choked on her words before talking one last glance at the brown haired teen. "I'm not going to sit by."
"Louise." Elèanor growled at her sister, as she would not like what she was hearing. So Louise better choose her words carefully.
"I came to this academy to keep an eye on you, so that you wouldn't do anything stupid like this! As I just said, you are a Vallière, so you should be expected to act like one!"
Louise raised her voice slightly "I know, but this is important to me!"
"Important how, you can't—."
Louise cut Elèanor off knowing what she was going to say. "I know I can't use magic. But this isn't about whether or not I can use it, Henrietta is requesting my assistance. She was already kidnapped once before, who's to say it won't happen again, or something even worse!"
"Louise-."
"I told you before that I'm not the same Louise from back then, I'm not that little girl anymore! I'm growing up and you're wrong about this, now I might not always be so confident in my powers but if I can do something to help her highness or one of my friends with my abilities I'm gonna do it! You can't stop me from that!"
Louise stood her ground looking Elèanor dead in the eyes. Elèanor was speechless to see her sister standing up for herself. She couldn't believe it, her eyes were not wavering in the slightest, and to speak to her in such a tone of voice. She remembered the Louise from their childhood and compared her to her sister who was standing right in front of her.
'Louise…'
Elèanor looked at Cattleya as she wore a smile, Louise was not going to stay put, and she knows her sister better than anyone else. That's when Sora stepped forward saying to her that he told her that she really wasn't the same Louise, she really is growing and will continue to grow, not in power. But in heart and in spirit. There was no way she could hold her back.
Elèanor composed herself and wore a serious expression staring back at Louise "You think you know what you're doing, but you don't know what you don't know. I just hope you realize what you're doing before you get yourself killed." Elèanor said as she stormed off leaving her sisters behind Louise looked at her but failed to say anything to her all she could do was watch her walk away.
"She's definitely mad at me now…" Louise said.
Cattleya approached her baby sister "She isn't mad at you, she's just worried that something might happen to you."
"You might think she's strict with you, but the only reason she's like this is because she deeply loves you Louise. Elèanor is just concerned for your safety." Cattleya responded, but as she watched her sister disappear from sight. Maybe she should apologize for her outburst later.
"I'll be sure to talk with Elèanor later and be sure you do the same Louise." Cattleya said to Louise.
"I will." Louise said before hugging her sister, Sora watched while he was smiling; he couldn't help but wonder if she was getting too involved in their family.
"So Cattleya, how do you feel?" Louise asked her sister, she was wondering how she was doing after Sora gave her that potion from the other night.
"I feel great, Louise. Better than I have in years." Cattleya told her since this morning she's felt a whole lot better, her breathing was more clear, and her physical condition was more stable than before but whether or not she is really cured is another story. She'll be sure to check herself with the doctors later on.
"Sora that potion you gave me, where did you get it?" The middle sister asked.
"I had it for special reasons. In case anything happened, but it looked like I was right to give it to you." Sora replied to Cattleya.
"Special reasons, do those special reasons have something to do with you not being from Tristain and also you having that sword from the other night?" The middle Vallière sister asked.
Delf came out from the sheath and began talking [Miss, isn't time you stop beating around the bush.]
Cattleya acted innocent "Whatever do you mean?"
[Be real with us, you know my partner is from another world, don't ya?]
"Oh come on!" Sora blurred out. Cattleya let out a small laugh.
"Another world. Well that certainly explains everything. It looks like my guess was right after all."
"Sister you knew!?" Louise was shocked.
Sora also asked "How was it from that time with the bird?" Cattleya shook her head saying she had a feeling long before that. It was the first time that they met back at the mansion. When Cattleya and Sora met for the first time he was with that dark haired girl and Louise. She couldn't explain it but the aura he possessed was something that she knew felt before, something that made him stand out from the person.
She thought of reason and him being from another world was also one of those reasons.
"Y-You're telling me, that you guessed, you assumed that I was from another world without any evidence?"
"That's right."
'Okay, I'm scared now.'
Cattleya gently placed her hand on his hand "Don't worry, even if you are from another world, I have no interest in prying into your life or asking you about anything related to you. I mean, who would believe in something like that." The middle sister replied.
"There's just one thing I ask of you, Sora, is that you please take care of Louise. She can get into trouble sometimes and she's not so great at expressing her feelings but please say that you will keep her safe."
Sora gazed at Cattleya as he graciously accepted her request, promising her that he will take good care of Louise for her. But he didn't understand why she asked that.
Cattleya thanked him and left her sister and Sora alone, Sora looked at Louise to ask her if she was ready but she was silent and her face was a light shade of red, he asked why she went quiet, the pink haired girl yelled at him to shut up and that it was. She climbed on the horse and ordered Sora to get on.
(Castle)
At the Castle Agnès was getting chewed out by a noble but this noble was none other than Lishman. All the preparation was made now all that was left was for him to take the bait.
"Kidnapped!?" Lishman replied, squeezing a piece of paper tightly.
Agnès bowed her head "I'm sorry sir, my unit is already searching the streets for her."
"I can't believe how incompetent all you musketeer knights are! Here this will block off the harbor and any air traffic that might be used as well!" Lishman turned around before facing her one last time.
"It is imperative that you find her highness if you fail to do this Agnès, you and your entire unit can expect a firing squad." That threat was made to her and she immediately began to leave the castle. Lishman watched her.
'That damn woman, acting so high and mighty…she only has the ranking of a Chevalier. She is still far from ever being a real noble. But with her and the queen gone, this might be our chance.' He walked into an empty room. And began writing on a piece of paper. As he finished he handed it to someone behind him.
Meanwhile Agnès got her horse settled up. Just as Xemnas has made another appearance towards her. She immediately drew her sword "Why didn't you kill him?" The silver haired man asked
"Who?" Agnès played dumb.
"Don't be a fool, you know very well who I was referring to." He said.
Agnès growled at him "Don't worry, I will see to it that I will have my revenge. But right now my mission comes first. Actually this is good for me too, now I can place you under arrest!" She charged at him and swung her sword at Xemnas, but he conjured his ethereal blade from his right hand and blocked it until she jumped back.
She ran towards him prepared to stab him but he disappeared and reappeared behind her. She snarled at him as darkness covered her body which lasted for a second. Xemnas smiled as he knew that it was growing, that darkness inside of her.
"As yes. The plan to use your own queen as bait for this fox hunt. First to corner one rat, then another. Bold, stupid but bold."
That most definitely startled her, how can this man know about their plans. Just how much does this man know, this isn't ordinary. "Just what in hell are you?" She gripped her sword tight.
"Nothing, that is all I am." He vanished in a dark corridor.
Agnès just stared off into space as her blood began to boil from that man, but one thing is for certain if he knows about their plans, does that mean Lishman also aware or does he already know and is only playing games. Agnès immediately got on top of her horse and ventured into town to search for the queen.
(Tristain)
Sora and Louise walked through the streets and made it to their destination, the place where they were going to meet. After walking through the crowd the keyblade wielder and the explosion mage made it to their destination: The charming fairy inn. Louise looked annoyed at the place still hanging onto the vivid memories of the humiliation she had to endure, of all the places why did it have to be this one.
Louise sigh "Why did you have to choose this place?"
"It was the only place I could think of." Sora scratched his head. "I mean it's a perfect spot for a meet up too. Plus I like to see how everyone's been doing."
Louise narrowed her eyes "You mean you wanted to see Jessica, right."
"Huh, well yeah."
Louise huffed so his true intentions showed themselves "You're an animal!" She shouted marching into the store leaving Sora behind. The spiky haired teen just stood there wondering what got her so mad this time.
"Hello." Sora called out as he and Louise walked inside to see a rather good looking male with long black hair upon closer inspection this boy was without a doubt Jessica.
"Jessica?" Sora called out to her ..
"Sora? And Louise too. What a surprise." Jessica said seeing the two of them here.
Louise asked the questions "What's with the outfit?"
"It's for tonight's show." Everyone turned around to see Scarron wearing a purple color wig and a pinkish-red and green dress.
"H-hello Scarron."
"What's up?" Both Louise and Sora greeted them.
Scarron replied with a greeting as well "Hello to you two, Louise darling, Sora."
"So what's everyone doing in costume?" Sora asked as Jessica pointed to the poster over to the wall.
"Well my father wore a play that he submitted to the royal theater in the Taglialegna district, and guess what they actually allowed him to publish his work."
'Vacances en Tristania…' Louise read it silently and awkwardly.
Scarron weeps tears of joy "It's like a dream come true, my work is finally being recognized by the world." He continued to cry from sheer joy as the rest of the girls followed.
"Speaking of what are you two doing here?" Jessica asked.
"We're just waiting to meet up with someone." Sora answered.
"Well then why not work here till then. And Louise you can assist us with the play as well." Scarron replied to the pink haired girl who was shocked. He wanted her to join in the play.
"Why me!?" She shuddered.
"We're down an actress and you would be perfect for the part." He said "Okay everyone. Time to open up shop, my little fairies." Scarron said and the girls were all beginning to finish up what they were doing.
"Yes. Mi Mademoiselle."
"Wait a minute! We didn't come here to do some work we're here because-"
"No time to dilly dally, ladies!" Being interrupted by the owner. The girls dragged Louise upstairs to get changed.
(Night)
Business was bustling in the store. The girls were serving food to customers Louise was awkwardly smiling at the people who she was serving. They were making complacent moves like flirting with her. Sora was behind the counter working on orders, Scarron has him work as well since he is quite an amazing cook.
"Kate, Table three is ready!" He called out to one of the fairy who was wearing pink.
"Thanks!" She picked up the plate of food and walked over to the people handing them their order.
Sora smiled as he was really enjoying cooking, maybe when he returns home he could cook for everyone.
"You look pretty happy." Sora was approached by Jessica who had her hair braided into two long pigtails and wearing a green color outfit similar to the one everyone else was wearing and her
"Just thinking about stuff is all." Sora replied to the long dark haired girl. "By the way. That outfit you're wearing?"
"Oh this, like it?" Jessica gave a twirl flashing a smile. "Though I could help Papa with business."
"Well it looked great on you. You look pretty in that." Sora gave a compliment.
Jessica blush lightly as she was happy and giggled slightly "Aw thanks."
"Jessica!" One of the girls called out her name.
"Coming!" She replied back, "Gotta get back to work."
"Alright." She dashed leaving Sora alone, meanwhile a dark atmosphere was showing behind him, as he felt eyes digging into his back. He turned around and saw Louise glaring menacingly at him as her eyes turned red.
Sora jumped, "Really, I'm wearing this provocative dress and you give her a compliment!" Louise growled and tried to grab him but Sora caught her hands with his.
The two of them looked like they were wrestling now. "Take it easy would ya!" They continued for about a few more minutes until they both got tired and stopped holding hands.
Louise couldn't believe it last time he saw her in this get up. The only thing he said to her was that it was alright but when the maid's cousin was wearing it he called her pretty. Of course he would compliment her more likely because of those sacks of fat filling out her clothes.
Louise huffed "I suppose I shouldn't expect anything less from a dog!"
"And what does that mean?" He asked not sure what he did wrong.
"My clothes! I'm being made to wear this again but here you are flirting and wagging your tail at Jessica." Louise yelled.
"That's what this is about, I was just saying it looks good on her is all." Sora replied to her but she ignored his words.
'So now she's mad because of a compliment.'
"Well you look good in it too." Sora said.
"Don't try to butter me up." Louise said harshly.
"I'm serious, Louise, it's cute on you." He looked to the other side as Louise's face light flash red before turning into a confident grin.
"Well of course. As a daughter of a duke, I can even make mere commoners' clothing look extravagant on me."
'She is so easy to please….'
"Yeah…Although to tell the truth, I liked you more in the black one."
Sora said out loud what he was thinking. Louise was caught off guard as Sora soon realized what he just said his cheeks turned a deep crimson color.
"No wait! I-I mean…"
Sora groaned, holding his head in shame and embarrassment, 'Idiot!' What was he saying? Thought he wouldn't deny that he really did like her wearing that black- No!
Louise then flashes a grin at Sora and decides to toy with him "Soooo… You like a woman in black, huh? Never thought someone like you would have a mature taste."
"No! Y-You got it all wrong!" He redundantly tried to deny it.
"No it's fine, you must have been captivated by the sight of how perfect that bustier was on me." Louise posed with one hand on the back of her head and the other on her hip.
"Can we just—."
"Louise darling, there's a customer wanting to see you." Scarron broke up Louise's teasing and soon got back to work.
Sora breathed a long sigh of relief "Thank you Scarron."
"It's nothing to worry about, I just happened to see you were in a vine. So you loved seeing Louise wearing the enchanted fairy bustier?"
"Come on, don't you start." Sora pleaded with the store owner.
"You know if you want, I can lend you that bustier if you're interested. You can ask her to wear it for you…Or any other girl."
"Wha-!?"
That was a treasure to him and he would be willing to part with it. And to let anyone wear it…anyone.
(Sora's image)
Sora was slowly picturing Louise, Siesta, Kirche and Kairi wearing the enchanted fairy bustier. Each one of them posing seductively laying up on top of a bed giving seducing grins.
(Reality)
Sora flinched, shaking off those thoughts he held onto his nose to prevent any bleeding "Come on Sora, get your head out of the gutter." Why!? Why was he thinking about his friends wearing that.
"Aww~!" Sora heard a shriek.
"He's so handsome!" The girls were gushing over someone who was sitting at a table nearby, he looked over at who it was and much to his surprise it was Julio. Sitting with a bunch of girls…and Louise was sitting next to him.
"Hey, what are you-?" Louise said as he was wrapping his arm around. He smiled charmingly at her.
"Come on now, there's no need to be worked up. Am I right?" He toasted, raising his glasses as the rest followed him.
Louise sighed, just as she was immediately jerked up from her seat. Sora was grabbing her shoulder wearing a displeased expression on his face.
"Oh Sora, good to see you're here too." The young priest said.
"Julio, would you please refrain from getting physical with the girls…" He told the platinum blonde in a plain voice. Sora was still holding onto Louise not letting go of her.
"I was told by Agnès to stand by this shop also." He didn't cut any corners. Sora's expression changed as he let go of Louise. Julio explained that he was out gathering information and when he found something out he was told to hangout at the store until she arrived.
"Okay…is that all."
"Well since I'm here I thought I might have a meal, but I never thought I would see an actual fairy in this place." Julio grabbed Louise's hand and kissed her knuckles. Sora's eyebrow twitched slightly as he was again displeased with Julio's affection for Louise.
"Come on Sora, I'm merely just having fun there's no need to get jealous."
"Jealous? I'm not jealous!?" Sora said.
"Oh really. Then what's with you treating Louise like she's your property?" Julio said as he was referring to when Sora got possessive of Louise.
"I'm…going on break." Not wanting to talk about it he took off his apron and quickly rushed out the back door. He was standing in the alley thinking to himself. Him, jealous…no way, he was just her friend and her familiar nothing more than that. But what Julio said also got to him, has he really been getting possessive with Louise… was he really jealous?
He wondered just as a drop of water fell in his nose. He looked up at the sky as it started raining, immediately falling harder. Great even the weather was mocking him too. Just then he felt something bump into him from behind, he turned around and saw someone wearing a brown cloak.
"My apologies." The person sounds female.
"Don't worry about it." Sora kneeled down "You alright though?" The keyblade wielder asked as she gasped.
"Sora?" The girl asked, pulling off her hood.
"Henrietta?" Sora was surprised to see her.
Two more voices were coming this way. The queen pulled Sora's clothes helping her up as they entered back into the charming fairy inn.
(Attic)
Sora was careful to keep Henrietta's unnoticed by the rest of the staff and the customers. The only place he was able to bring her too was the upstairs attic.
"Glad to see you found this place. Wait here while I get Louise." Sora's hand rested on the handle.
"No, don't." She said, He stopped "Sora, you can't tell anyone about this."
"Why not?"
"I only had a short time to sneak away. And it causes quite a stir."
"I thought this was a meet up."
"It is in a way…I'm glad I was able to find you." Replied the young queen again, asking not to tell anyone she was here. Sora complied saying that he wouldn't tell anyone.
"Thank you. So Sora, I need a favor for you."
"What is it?" Henrietta stood up from the bed and held his hand.
"Please, I need you to be my bodyguard for a few hours. I need to be able to blend in with normal people for a while."
"Is that why you snuck out?"
Henrietta looked at Sora desperately "Ever since I took the throne. I've been on the watch for people that would aim for my life and those around me…" Her mind flashback to Wales assassination to him now working with opposing forces.
"Even my lover turned out to be my enemy. Now I feel so isolated in my own castle. You are the only one I can turn to." She said with everyone feeling like there is no one she can trust. Only Louise and the other are the only people that have her back in this situation. And she probably didn't want to blow her cover by going to Louise.
He looked deep into her eyes "Henrietta…" Sora gave her his signature smile.
"Alright. I don't care how dangerous it is. I will do my best to help you out." He said. Henrietta quickly let go of his hands as she had a brief flashback to Lagdorian lake. Her face having a light shade of red to it. She remembered how he looked despite all that.
He asked if something was wrong but she coughed and played it off saying that it was nothing. The queen then asked if there were any clothes for her to change into, to help her fit in with the crowd. Sora looked over the closet and saw that the only thing in her was Louise's school uniform.
"This is all we got." He said as she was caught off guard by Henrietta, who was only in her underwear covering her breast with her arm.
"That'll do." She stretched her arm out. The young brunette turned his head and gave her Louise's clothes.
'A little warning next time!?' Seriously, she's a queen, how could she just strip so casually. But that's when something else came up, could she even fit her clothes.
"Hm, a little small but better then nothing I guess." Sora looked at the purple haired girl. She made a little adjustment. Opening the top exposing a good portion of her chest and stomach. And finishing her disguise by tying her hair in a ponytail.
"We should be fine. If we act like we're lovers." Sora gasped but grinned and tried to bear it.
"Yeah…" He mumbled, throwing her his jacket.
"I-It's raining outside so I don't want you catching a cold." She looked at the jacket he usually wears and looked at Sora.
"Won't you get a cold though?" She asked, wearing his hoodie.
"I'll be okay. Come on!" He picked up his sword off the wall and. opened the door, leading the young queen outside of the tavern.
Meanwhile Louise was getting tired of the repeat cheers that Julio was making. She was stationed to work in aiding her majesty not serving drinks.
'Where is Agnès…' She wondered, slouching on that table. And come to think of it she hasn't seen Sora at all either.
She began to worry and got up from her seat and ventured outside to look for him.
(Castle)
Speaking of Agnès. She was residing in the castle over the fireplace. She received a note from Julio before hand telling her where the location of the Albion spy was held up in. She quickly read through it, preserving the memory of the location before throwing it into the fire. She watched the letter but into the flame her eyes reflecting the flame but no more so then the flame of revenge she still harbors.
Darkness began to seeth out from her more and more. This flame of hate and anger. This flame to see the death of all those who wrought the destruction of her home. And she would not rest until they all were dead in front of her eyes. The darkness dissolves from her body.
The door opened and Lishman looked at the ex-plebeian standing in front of her.
"Give me a report!" He demanded Agnès give him an answer.
"Sir! I apologize, but we still haven't found her." She replied.
The chairman click his tongue "You seriously are drying my patience, do I have to remind you what will happen if you fail." He said slowly confronting her.
Right now there was nothing more than her gutting him open like a swine but if she did anything right now she would get in trouble. She curbed her emotions for now and proceeded out the door. But before leaving Agnès turned around.
"Sir. There's one more thing I need to ask."
"What now?" Lishman was annoyed, wondering what she wanted this time.
"There is something you should know. Right now, I'm doing a little investigating of my own in a case that happened over twenty years ago."
"What kind of case?" He asked.
"A case you should be involved with…I'm talking about the destruction and death of the village D'Angleterre. I heard you were involved with that slaughter.
"D'Angleterre…" He slowly began to remember "A yes… But it wasn't a slaughter as you would put it. Those people were plotting to take over the country so they had to have been dealt with, the ends justifies the means."
"The ends justifies the means….I see, then tell me. You wouldn't happen to still remember the name of the captain who went ahead with it…"
Lightning flash. Lishman said that it was over twenty years ago so naturally he forgot. She narrowed her eyes piercing deep into his soul for an answer. To see if he was telling the truth. And as it turns out he was being honest. Not wanting to take up more of his time, she left the room leaving the nobleman by himself.
But as he was standing there alone. He began to question why she would take interest in a care two decades old. 'No…Don't tell me that she's a survivor of that place…'
(Tristain)
Sora and Henrietta were pressing their backs against the wall of an ally they were walking through. Upon inspection they could see knights standing around checking people out.
"Looks like a search point." Sora observed.
"They must have been ordered to look for me." Henrietta added.
"Well, we could scale the wall, I can carry you up there."
"No, that'll draw too much attention. I have a plan to slip by them." She said getting the brown haired keyblade hero's attention, she has a way around them.
Over at the search point they were checking out a young man and woman giving them clearance to pass. They hated that they had to do this in the rain but orders are orders. Just as they were complaining about this the eye of the knights caught a look at two young teens out on a nightly stroll. They were even holding hands.
"I can't believe we're going with such a simple plan?" Sora said as Henrietta's idea was for them to act like a couple.
"Trust me it'll work." She whispered to him. Next thing she did was link arms with him pressing herself onto him, wearing a smile. Sora was really uncomfortable but it was all for the mission so he had to suck it up and deal with it. They made their way past the guards, some clicked their tongues not with just how lucky that kid looked, having a beauty of a woman like her, but not being able to find the queen. On orders they dispatch to another part of town to search.
They turned their backs and were glad that they were gone. But there was a chance that they would be back. So they had to make themselves scarce before they came back.
Louise was running down the streets looking all over for Sora as she began to worry about him. It must have been what the blonde priest was saying, he really didn't want to admit to himself that he was jealous she could have stood up for him. She would make sure to apologize for that. She kept walking when she passed by someone she recognized.
"Agnès!" Louise called out to the blonde haired woman.
"There you are, I've been-" Louise was appropriately interrupted. Agnès had her hand over her mouth to keep her from saying another word.
"Shh!" The blonde haired knight shush Louise, turned back to the corner seeing a young man with a bag strapped to his waist. He was walking into an apartment complex.
"So that's where he is." She said taking her hand off of Louise.
"What is it?" Louise asked.
"Call or a game of cat and mouse. And It looks like our time to pounce." She ran inside with Louise following her upon entering she could see the man she was tailing going up the stairs. The girls began to follow him up the stairs. He knocked on the door and it opened and he walked inside of the room.
Agnès and Louise were hanging by the corner waiting for him to come out. Louise asked if that man was who they were searching for. But Agnès said no, that one was just a messenger, his client inside was likely the spy from Albion that they were pursuing. Louise wondered how she knew.
The female knight said that earlier Julio was tailing a suspicious person early in the day. She then asked him to send him a letter of description of what he looked like and where he was staying. Julio was also ordered to wait at the fairy inn until further notice.
So he already knew where to find the spy, did he just want to sit around and poke fun at Louise and Sora.
After a minute, the door opened and the person who Agnès was chasing came down the hallway. "That's what is happening."
"I see…Well I'll be at the theater as well. We'll discuss more afterwards." Said a second individual, most definitely the spy.
The messenger was walking down the hallway when he caught a peek at someone. He went straight ahead to see who it was, but he gasped when he witnessed two females kissing. Not wanting to interrupt them he took his leave.
Agnès let go of Louise as her face turned bright red and stream was coming off of her.
"What was that for!?" She barked at Agnès for suddenly kissing her.
"Don't get any ideas, I'm not into girls. It was just to distract him." She said equally red.
"I'm not into girls either!?" Agnès ignored her and walked down the Louise followed still fuming in embarrassment.
"Should we be following that guy?" Ask Louise.
"He was only one messager. We need him to return back to the palace, if something were to happen to him than this plan won't work. Who we need is inside, think you can blow that door down?
"Overkill much…?" Louise said even she was cautious about it.
"If I picked the lock, he'll most definitely run. An explosion would be the best idea."
Having doubts about this plan but choosing the follow along. Louise pouted her want and blew the door open. The spy jump from his chair and had a wand pointing at the destroyed door.
But with no time to cast he was thrown to the floor.
"Dammit!" The spy cursed.
"We got him. This is amazing, we really caught him!" Louise was overjoyed.
"Now is not the time to celebrate there's still one more thing we have to take care of." Agnès said still pining him down.
"We overheard you two talking about theater, is it a theater that you are most familiar with." Agnès questions but the spy only spat in her face telling her that he wasn't saying anything. What felt like a long silence for the captain of the musketeers. When she unexpectedly twisted his arm braking it.
He hollered out in pain. "Agnès!!" Louise shouted by her unexpected move.
"Your pride of nobility won't allow you to say anything… Well that gives you two choices: You can tell me what theater he is supposed to meet you and only settle with a broken arm…" Agnès drew her gun and aimed it at his head. "...Or you can die here and now."
The tone of her voice stated that she was serious just one look in her eyes told him that she was serious. Louise was surprised by this course of action she was taking… No surprise wouldn't be the word she'd use more like scared. Scared of Agnès right now for how she threatened the man and for how lifeless her eyes were.
It was like she was becoming a different person.
(Sora Henrietta)
Sora and Henrietta were hiding in a room that was paid for by the queen. It was just a plain looking room with one bed and a round table. Sora picked up a lantern that was on the table and with a small flick of his finger lit the lantern with a bit of fire magic.
The queen didn't lie, saying that she was jealous about how he can use magic without the aid of a wand. Sora countered saying that his brand of magic is special like that.
The two were now sitting on the bed both tired from hiding. Henrietta looked out the window feeling sorry for making Sora do this. But Sora said that it was fine, he did promise to do this so she should complain.
The purple haired queen turned back to Sora and gave him a look as he was lost in his own mind thinking of Louise and Julio were doing okay, of course that didn't stop him from thinking about other things. She glanced at his upper arm that has a bit of muscle. The water from the rain made his tank too soaked as a small raindrop traveled down his to his chest that was poking out slightly. His hair was also drenched until he flipped it aggressively.
What felt like time had slowed down a bit as was getting rid of the water that was still in his locks of hair. The queen continued to look at Sora in mesmerization. Had he always looked so… She stopped herself from thinking about any further as her face slowly began to warm up. After he saved her there was this strange feeling she was getting. From after she came to the academy to right now.
Sora soon caught wind of her gaze. "Is something wrong?" He asked, completely unaware of her.
"Uh, no." She said quickly.
There was an abrupt banging on the door. "Open up! We're from the castle!"
"This is an emergency, we'll break down the door if we have to!"
Sora got up and Henrietta walked next to him. "Oh man!"
"We need to get out of here!" Sora said.
"There isn't time!" The queen replied back.
She then opened up her shirt, surprising Sora, when she grabbed his shoulder, pushing him onto the bed and lifting up his shirt.
The guards broke in but blush to see a young couple being intimidated. They quickly left, leaving the two of them.
Henrietta got up off of Sora as he was hearing their footsteps fade. "I think they're gone now."
"Henrietta…" Sora called her name out and slowly moved back down, taking off the shirt and jacket and the rest of her clothes. She started to nuzzle up to the young keyblade wielder whose heart was racing out of his chest.
"What are you—!?" Sora asked in shock.
"Sorry…But can we…stay like this." The queen said hold on to Sora.
"I'm sorry. You must think I'm shameful. I am supposed to be a queen but in reality, I'm still a woman, I get lonely at night. I'm not asking you to be my substitute, just let me feel the warmth of a man." She said in a sad tone of voice.
Sora was extremely uncomfortable for this "You recall how.. Wales was manipulating me and you brought me back to my senses."
"Yeah." He remembered.
"I still find it difficult to wrap my head around what he said. Do you know what he was talking about."
"I do…You see when a heartless is created, sometimes the vessel they leave behind moves and acts on their own. They always act like they have emotions but really they weren't supposed to exist we call them nobodies."
"Nobodies…" The Queen said letting that work ring in her mind.
"Yes. Just because he looks and sounds like Wales. That doesn't really mean he is him."
"Is there no way to help him?"
Sora gently lifted her off of him. "There is and it involves fighting. When the heartless and nobody of a person are defeated, they will be restored to who they were."
Henrietta looked down. So if Wales were to be back to his old self he must first be defeated. Why does everything always have to involve some form of conflict. Like it can never be avoided.
"You know I was relieved when you stopped me…If possible, I would like you to do it again."
Sora didn't like how she put it. "What are you saying?"
"If I were to make another mistake like this…then please Sora, kill me…" He flinched
"I just don't know what I should do. I'm worried about how my actions will shake the state of this nation, and that I might make a reprehensible choice, if I do then I want you to strike me down, I thought about asking Louise to do it but I can't, she wouldn't allow it."
"Yeah she wouldn't! And neither will I!" Sora held onto her shoulder "You can't seriously ask me to do something like that. Think of Louise, you know how devastated she would be, what happened to the Henrietta who fought for Tarbes, where is she, why are you acting weak!"
"Sora…"
"Listen, I don't know the first thing about being a king, or a queen, or a noble. But I know that you can't make a mistake. There are people who do depend on you, and they will follow you because you are strong not just because of some fancy title. You choose to follow your heart and fight for the people, if not that then Siesta and her family might not be here. What makes you the queen is because you are strong and what makes you a good leader."
"You think I'm strong…"
Sora nodded "Without a sliver of doubt. You are one of the strongest people I know. And about you saying how you don't know what to do. No one's looking for an answer right away, give yourself time to think about it. That's what thinking for yourself means, it's your life. Your life means your consequences, choices but more importantly your own suffering and happiness. It's no one's place but yours on what road you take."
Sora finished leaving the naked queen speechless, her heart skipped a beat when he told her that last part. Just as he soon remembered that she was still in her birthday suit. He picked up the cover and wrapped it around her. "B-Basically. What I'm saying is don't be afraid to follow your own will.
Tears ran down her face as she clutched onto Sora she buried her face into his chest crying her heart out. After a few minutes of crying she started to calm down. And she put back on her clothes.
"Sora, thank you. I'm sorry about how disgraceful I was just now."
"No sweat. Just promise me you will never say that again." Sora said. The queen agreed
"Now what's going on."
Henrietta told him that this is a plan to lure out the traitor. She has told Agnès to decline a false state of emergency that said that she went missing. But at the same time there was also the chance that the plan wouldn't work so she ran as fast as she could.
"Is that why you asked me to be your bodyguard?"
Henrietta nodded. "I knew you wouldn't think twice about protecting me, like you do with others."
"Smart but a little surprised that you would keep it from me."
"To trick your enemies you must first trick your allies." Henrietta stood up from the bed. Sora did the same.
"Well then, I think it's time we be on our way. The show is about to begin."
Sora had a question mark over his head. What was she talking about, a show? Henrietta walked out of the room with Sora following her.
(Theater)
The rain stopped. Agnès and Louise arrived at the theater in the Taglialegna district. While they were waiting outside Louise reprimanded Agnès. Saying that she didn't need to go that far as to break his arm. The guy may have been a spy but he was still a human being.
Agnès retorted saying that she had to for the mission.
Still the void user started to grow wary of the musketeer captain, she knows she's strict but to just break someone's arm without remorse and to hold a gun to him that was just dishonorable even if he is a spy.
She then turned around as did Agnès to see Sora walk next to the queen she pulled off the hood of her robe.
"Your Majesty!" Louise said as she ran and hugged her childhood friend.
"I was getting worried when you didn't show." The pink haired girl cried.
"Forgive me Louise. I had to borrow your familiar for a moment to hide in the city."
"And the same for me." Sora said "Sorry if I made you worry."
Louise let go of Henrietta and approached her familiar. "You're right, you made me worried. Still I'm glad you're both safe." She said.
Agnès approached the queen. "Highness. I have the musketeer surrounding the theater. All the preparations are completed."
"Thank you Agnès. Exceptional work." The violet haired girl said.
"Now then I believe it's time for the curtain to fall tonight."
(Theater)
Henrietta led everyone to the auditorium. Inside everyone was watching Scarron's play which turned out to be not as bad as they thought. But out of everyone here who was enjoying the play. Lishman was not; he had been waiting for some time; he looked at the seat next to him and thought to himself.
'Was the queen's disappearance another plot of Albion. No, something is still not right.'
"... Excuse me, is this seat taken?" A young sounding female voice asked as she suddenly sat next to him.
"Yes it is. Now move." He said as she didn't get up from the seat.
"Did you not hear me miss? That seat is already taken."
"Spectators should watch the performance, chairman Lishman." She pulled off her hood and exposed her face. The chairman was shocked to see Henrietta.
"I must say this play is quite interesting."
"I'm looking over such a trivial show only because it is my job." He replied "So what brings you here. Last I heard you went missing, was that for safety reasons?"
Henrietta narrowed her eyes like a hunter
"Anyway you should know I'm meeting with a partner of mine. Best to take your leave now."
"… Yes. A partner…. And that partner wouldn't happen to have come from Albion would he." Lishman's eyes popped out of his head. "It's pointless to try and deny it, he confessed everything, including your plan to get rid of me…"
"You've been outsmarted Lishman. Surrender and make this easier on yourself."
He grit his teeth, he can't believe that he was fooled like this. "You're about ten years too early to try and pull the wool over my eyes!" He got up from his seat and was surrounded by musketeer knights.
"What in heaven!?" He said
"I have knights stationed both in and out of the building. You have no choice but to give yourself up."
Lishman smirked "I'm amazed to see you though this far ahead. You've grown, my queen." He complained.
Henrietta close her eyes. Thinking to what Sora said to her. 'B-basically what I'm trying to say is don't be afraid to follow your own will.'
'I shall not be a child who can't throw a tantrum just because I can't get what I want, nor be led astray by others blindly waking with people who align themselves with the shadows. I'm going to trust my own eyes and my own heart to see what truths lie within the soul.'
"But you don't think I didn't come prepared as well." He snapped his fingers and knights rose up from their seats.
"Just as you have knights, I have some from Albion. You're still a hundred years too early to believe you can fool me!"
"Captured Lishman!"
"Kill Henrietta!"
A fight immediately broke up and the knights from both sides; Tristain and Albino were engaged in fighting. Everyone got scared and hurried to the closest exit not wanting to be a part of this. Jessica and her father watching the battle take place wondering what in the world was going on. One of them came up to attack Scarron but Jessica quickly blew him away with an Aero spell.
Lishman ran to the stage as Henrietta began chasing after him. One of the knights from Albion stopped in front of her with his sword aimed at her "Die!" She closed her eyes prepared for the attack.
Clink*
She opened her eyes to see Sora holding both blades in a X form blocking the attack.
"Sora!" She cried out as he kicked the man to the side. The young swordsman didn't say a word as his look was enough to say that he's here.
"Sora he's getting away!" Louise pointed out.
The keyblade wielder ran towards him but was stopped by a dark corridor suddenly opened and dashed a boy wearing a black mask.
With only seconds Sora blocked his sudden attack.
"Vanitas!" Sora growled.
"Been a while Sora. Happy to have this family reunion."
"Family reunion?" Henrietta asked.
The two broke away from each other. Both standing up.
"Sora I'm a little hurt…" His mask slowly dissolved and his face was exposed, Henrietta gasped at his face…he looked so much like Sora. "...You didn't tell your new friend about your brother."
"Brother!?" Henrietta was shocked, Sora has a brother.
"We aren't brothers. If we were you wouldn't be fighting us!" Sora hissed.
Sora then swapped from his kingdom key to his hero's origin keyblade and transformed into his guardian form with the counter shield in his hand. Vanitas reciprocated by summoning his void gear keyblade to his hand and the two began dueling.
Vanitas struck first as Sora blocked it with his shield and trusted Delf towards him. The dark keyblade user and the guardian of light were crossing blades with each other.
"What are you doing here Vanitas." Sora asked.
"Just making sure that everything goes according to the script, I just can't have you meddling like you always do." They rushed to each other as he disappeared from Sora's sight only to reappear behind him, he raised his keyblade up and was about to strike but his attacks met with another sword. One not belonging to Sora. But to a familiar platinum blonde.
"Julio!" Sora said.
"Intriguing, so you have a keyblade yourself. I have to ask you a question, how do I get one myself." Julio asked partly joking and partly serious.
"You want one, well here's how!" He dashed towards Julio and blocked his keyblade with his sword, the two of them were in a deadlock as Sora ran to Julio with his sword in hand and slash at Vanitas only to miss. The dark haired boy jumped back.
"Hey man, Thanks." Sora thanked Julio
"Don't mention it. I'm not sure who he is, but let's take care of him."
"Right!" Sora agreed and the two on one duel began.
Lishman ran to the center of the stage and tapped his cane onto the floor and fell into a trapped door. Henrietta watched him disappear Agnès…Please'
Lishman continued to fall through the floor as he was coming close to the end. His staff glowed and he began slowly deciding to the floor until he came into an underground cavern.
"I know the ins and outs of this theater are like the back of my hand. But that girl, I can't believe she came up with a plan like that. I will definitely get revenge for that." He said to himself as he heard the sound of a gun click.
"This is as far as you go." He turned around to see Agnès with her gun in hand.
"Dammit! Do you know about this underground passage!?" Lishman said but Agnès didn't say a word to him, her eyes were void of light and upon closer inspection you could see the pure hate in them. Her emerald jewels filled with anger.
"Don't think that I'll be caught by some ex-plebeian."
"Who said anything about taking you in alive…this is where you die here and now!" She fired her gun at him but he raised his staff and conjured fire, melting the bullet and nearly burning her.
"When you mentioned D'Angleterre. I had a suspicion that you might be a survivor. I can't believe there was still a straggler." She began to fester her rage at the man.
"Do you miss the rest of your villagers? Allow me to give you solace and you can join them." He smiled wickedly and summoned a powerful burst of fire towards her.
He laughed as she was now likely a piece of burnt meat unrecognizable. That takes care of that he slowly turned his back and on only to feel a chill suddenly run down his spine he quickly turned around and was met with a diagonal flash causing him to fall down on his back. He looks up and saw Agnès completely unarmed.
"What… How?!" She slowly turned to him with a sword in her hand but this wasn't the sword she usually carries. The blade was a double edged longsword sword that was black on the outside and red on the inside with a black handle and with a dark gray grip. The guard of the blade was curved upward slightly and the cross-guard were two black wings. The bottom of the blade had runes engraved into it. The pommel of the sword was in the shape of a claw and in the pommel was a demonic looking eye.
Lishman looked up at her in fear. "Wait…I have money, name your price!" He desperately tried to beg for his life but she once again held her gun.
"My home, my village. We were innocent and you pinned us for false crimes. And for the sake of money, you betrayed your queen and country. Is that want it really means to be an aristocrat. I only live for this one reason, so take your money and spend it all in hell!" Without even blinking Agnès pulled the trigger and shot him in the head.
Agnès looked at the sword and examined it. She felt her anger explode for a minute and the next thing she knew is that this came into her hand. After a brief examination it disappeared in a dark crimson light.
"What was that?" She said.
"That would be your power." A dark corridor opened and Xemnas came to greet her once morem. "As I said before, you do possess powers that no one else possesses in this world. Darkness, the only counter to light." He said as she took a look at her hands to see darkness emanating from them.
"And since you took the first step…Allow me to give you a reward. The documents of your home's destruction lie beneath The academy of magic." She gasped. He slowly backed away and disappeared.
The commotion that went on in the theater finally ceased. The knights from Albion lost the battle and were all arrested. Scarron was weeping because his performance was ruined by this. Jessica met up with Louise and Sora who were apologizing for destroying the play.
Jessica was fine, what was important was that now was hurt. But what sucked was that after the fight Vanitas got away. Sora wasn't sure what he was doing here but it definitely wasn't good at all.
"Sora! Louise!" Henrietta greeted them. Agnès follow suit.
"Henrietta!" They replied back.
"I'm so glad you two are safe." She said.
"Yeah. But what about Lishman?" Louise asked.
Agnès stepped forward "There is no need to worry about him, he's been taken care of." That was all she said.
"I take it he didn't give you much of a choice." Julio approached everyone else.
Agnès didn't say anything more than what she had to. "You all did excellent, first, Jessica was it? I like to apologize for ruining your father's play."
The black haired girl shook her head "It's not a problem, your highness. He'll bounce back eventually."
The queen shifted to Sora, "And Sora thanks again for what you had done today."
"Hey no sweat. I'm happy to help." He said, giving a light nod. Louise smiled at him.
That's when she caught a whiff of something on Sora's jacket. She brought Sora closer to her and smelled it.
"What?" Sora said, confused.
"I can smell the queen's perfume on your jacket." Louise narrowed her eyes.
"It was raining earlier. I just didn't want her to get sick."
Sora replied as Louise kept sniffing, Jessica did the same to Sora. "No…Not just your jacket, it's all over your clothes. You didn't do anything to the queen when you were her bodyguard…"
Sora flinched remembering how she kissed him in that building and was embracing him while she was stark naked. "No no. Nothing happened. Right!"
He said as she also remembered, her face began to warm up as she didn't say anything at all. She looked down at her feet. Causing the girls to glare at Sora. He flinched.
"Sora! Sit!" He fell to his knees and listened to Louise yelling at him, Julio couldn't help but laugh at him, he has almost no authority with women whatsoever.
Henrietta began to walk away as her captain of the musketeer knights asked if something was wrong.
Although she tried to act calmly, she couldn't stop the uncontrollably pounding in her chest as she looked over to Sora who was getting scolded by Louise and with the other girl.
She soon realized what this loud beating in her chest meant. She was in love…
"It's nothing…nothing at all."
End.
P.s. I did my research for this chapter I know that Agnès does kiss Louise but it was actually confirmed that she really did so it just as a distraction, there was no confirmation that is a lesbian. Check out the light novel if you don't believe me.
