Katie’s summer plans are put on hold when she is signed up to be part of a local youth soccer team for girls her age. She reluctantly participates to make her mom happy. Every girl on the team doesn’t seem interested in talking to her at all and she feels extremely insecure and left out. She wants to quit but is encouraged not to by a potential friend

18. Chapter 18

Later that night during dinner*

Tyler is visiting*

You think I can meet Izzy soon? "He says"

Yeah when the time is right "Katie says" I just don't want those mean girls to vicious attack you with mean words. They already did behind your back and they haven't even met you. They don't even know what you look like and assume cuz you're my friend it's a bad thing

Wow. That's rough "Tyler says" Good thing my mom doesn't know about all this

Soon Tyler goes home*

Thursday*

At Palm Woods Park*

Tyler helps Katie again with her dribbling and drills*

They practice most of the day and go inside for lunch and eat outside by the pool area*

You ready for you second game? "He says"

They go upstairs when they're done eating*

Friday*

Logie wanna play some Mario Kart? "Carlos says"

Don't you think there's more to life than that game? "Logan says"

Yeah sometimes "Carlos says" Come on you promised you would play it

Fine "Logan says and sits on the couch"

What do you have against this game? "Carlos says"

Nothing Carlos. It's just that I think you could be doing something more mentally stimulating with your time "Logan says"

Puzzles, drawing or reading "Logan says"

The rest of the day goes by quickly*

Saturday morning at the soccer field*

Ok girls today we're playing against The Blue Bandits "Coach Fernandez says" You all know your positions. Go have some fun

Don't screw up idiot! "Veronica says"

Katie sighs and stands in front of the goal*

So far after 30 minutes the other team is winning*

Do your job right fool! "Bethany yells"

I'm trying but you've gotta do your job stop them from getting past you and our team mates! "Katie says"

We're doing fine! You're the failure! "Bethany says"

Time out! "Coach Fernandez says" What I'm hearing out there is absolutely appalling!

She's the one who keeps messing up

"Sammantha says"

That's not her fault. She's not as experienced as you guys are. Encourage her to do better "Coach Fernandez says"

That's a waste of time "Leah says"

Just get back on the field so we can continue the game "Coach Fernandez says signing and face palming"

After an hour the game ends with the other team winning. The final score is 3-5*

You're the worst goalie in the history of soccer!! "Cassidy says"

No I'm not! I'm doing my best! "Katie says" You could be better teammates and not belittle me with every single thing I do on the field!
