The Commander watched his apprentice practicing his basic katas, the brat had been going at it for about 3 hours, it had been 2 weeks since they started to learn the basic taijutsu style, since Naruto already knew the basic katas and they just needed correcting, it took the 2 weeks to not just correct the katas but to learn how to use them effectively in combat.
But the Commander also wanted him to master two important exercises, the tree climbing exercise and the water walking exercise, so of course, they used 2 shadow clones to do the exercise, and now Naruto was ready for two more techniques. Once he learnt these two techniques, he planned to take the brat on a C-rank.
"Commander-sama," a voice called out behind him to find a brown haired Anbu dressed in the usual Anbu flak jacket and black clothing with a mask that resembles a cat with green and red intricate marks.
"tenzo," replied the Anbu Commander.
"So that is your new student, sir?" asked Tenzo, as he watched Naruto practice basic katas.
"Indeed, interesting brat, picks up and thing I teach him like a fish to water, the academy said that he was talentless, yet he has honestly exceeded by expectations," answered the Anbu Commander.
"So do you think he'll make a good Anbu Black Ops?" asked Tenzo, as he thought that was the reason the Anbu Commander was selected as the boy's sensei.
"He has good enough stealth skills, but it depends on his mindset as a shinobi and if he has the appropriate darkness," answered the leader of the Anbu.
"So what is his personality like?" asked Tenzo.
"I would say, extremely cheerful yet cunning with good ambition and a will to learn, he is naïve but I am sure after the C-rank, he will truly learn what it is to be a shinobi," answered the Commander.
"Sir, is this you or one of your shadow clones?" asked Tenzo.
"Me, sometimes I do use shadow clones but now we are going to go on his first C-rank," replied the Commander.
"Good day to you sir," said Tenzo as he disappeared in a body flicker.
"Good day to you, Tenzo," replied the Commander as he walked up to his young apprentice, who stopped practicing his katas, to look up to his sensei, with his wonder filled eyes.
"So what are we going to do now, sensei?" asked Naruto, as he handed Naruto two scrolls.
"You are going to learn these two techniques," answered the Commander, as Naruto opened one of the scroll just enough to see the name.
"'Shuriken shadow clone technique' and 'clone great explosion'," read Naruto, as he looked up to the Commander confused, "I can't use clones, who am I supposed to use the 'clone great explosion'?"
"Indeed, but the clone great explosion uses shadow clones, rather than regular clones, you are allowed to use five shadow clones to help you with the techniques each," said the Commander, as the Commander and Naruto began to train in the shadow clone shuriken technique. The first time he wasn't able to get any shuriken to appear, but he kept trying and suddenly another shuriken appeared, next to the one he threw.
"Remember, you are trying to get hundreds of shuriken to overwhelm the enemy," reminded the Commander, as Naruto groaned.
"alright!" shouted Naruto.
-4 hours later-
Naruto had finally gotten the technique to the level where he could finally throw hundreds of shuriken. Now onto the second technique, the more exciting technique, the shuriken shadow clone technique.
-A day later-
Naruto had finally mastered both techniques, it had taken constant practice using shadow clones, but he could use them extremely effectively in combat, as he walked through Konoha to the mission desk to receive his first C-rank mission, he started to looking around, but he ran into someone, someone who didn't like him and he didn't like either.
"Sorry-" said Naruto as he looked at who he ran into, "Sasuke?"
The young Uchiha heir looked at the person in front of him for a second with confusion before realizing who was in front of him, as Naruto had changed clothes into a black and dark orange jumpsuit instead of the bright orange one that he was always seen in, and noticed something even more interesting on the boy's fore head, the head band.
"Dobe, what are you doing wearing that?" asked Sasuke, as he got annoyed at the dobe for 'pretending' to be a shinobi.
"Being a Genin, now I have a C-rank to get to," said Naruto as he released sensing chakra and noticed small chakra reserves, too large to be civilian but good enough for academy students, he knew exactly who was in the trees, but he did note that there were around 40 girls trying to hide or blend in, "also you're fangirls are stalking you."
"I noticed," said Sasuke gritting his teeth.
"I think it's your entire fan club," said Naruto, once again as Sasuke's eyes suddenly widened.
"Naruto, how many are there?" asked Sasuke, as he turned around, looking a bit scared.
"Around 40, though some are actually shopping," answered Naruto, as he grabbed a smoke bomb. Sasuke thought about his odds to escape and let's just say they weren't looking good.
"So why are you here, shouldn't you be at the academy?" asked Naruto, as Sasuke turned back to Naruto.
"The academy is closed for another month, also stop pretending to be a Genin," answered Sasuke, he clearly didn't believe that Naruto could actually pass before him.
"Sasuke, I'm not pretending, also they have formed a crowd, waiting for you to turn around," replied Naruto, as Sasuke turned to find multiple girls surrounding him, including the Yamanaka heir, Ino and her rival, Sakura Haruno.
"Naruto, how dare you pretend to be a shinobi!" screeched Sakura, as she and the other fangirls released some killing intent. Naruto just raised an eyebrow and smiled.
"Hi, Sakura-chan," said Naruto, excited by suddenly got punched in the face by the Haruno, sending him a few feet back as he fell onto his butt, Naruto's eyes lowered, as he realized that he had let his guard down with Haruno, he got up and decided to speak about the obvious.
"You know it is illegal to assault a shinobi," said Naruto with annoyance in his tone, as he had spent time with both Team 10 and the Commander, and they treated him decently, not like these guys.
"You're no shinobi, I bet it's a fake or stolen!" shouted Sakura, with a chorus of agreements from most of them.
"Right, Sasuke-kun?" said another of the fangirls.
"I'll show you a shinobi skill, I picked up from my sensei," said Naruto as grabbed something, and hid it from them, as he pulled a pin with a grin and grabbed Sasuke's hand who looked at him, shocked.
Suddenly smoke filled the clearing, making it impossible for anyone to see, even Naruto but he was a natural born sensor, meaning he could sense where everyone is. He suddenly pulled Sasuke as they ran up the wall, Naruto using his chakra to stick to the wall, as they got up and hit from the annoyance that was trying to find Sasuke through the smoke.
"I have a mission to get to, so bye," said Naruto, as he walked away.
"Why did you help me?" asked Sasuke, confused by the kind gesture.
"I was feeling like it, and i wanted to annoy the fangirls," said Naruto as he started to walk away.
"How in the world did you get us up here?" asked Sasuke.
"Oh I used a focused amount of chakra, to the bottom of my feet, and used that to stick to the surface or the wall in this case," answered Naruto as he jumped away.
-Time skip-
Naruto's first C-rank was nothing complex, a simple bandit elimination that made him nervous, because it was a bandit elimination, they knew where the bandits had attacked and how the bandits acted, so the mission should be easily completed, about 5 miles out of Konoha, they kept walking and talking about normal topics.

"Naruto, I'll deal with them, time to see how much you've learnt," said the Commander, as Naruto rushed towards the 20 bandits, and threw a kunai at the twenty, and quickly went through hand signs.
"Shuriken shadow clones!" shouted Naruto as that one kunai turned into 30, 10 of the bandits were hit as they fell down dead. Suddenly he summoned 2 more clones which then rushed into the bandits before exploding, killing the rest of the 10. Naruto looked at the ruin, horrified as he finally understood what he had done.
"What have I done?" asked Naruto, horrified.
