Brax is sitting on the couch watching TV when there is a knock on the door. He pushes himself up to open the door to which he sees John and Marilyn.
"Hey, Marilyn, John; can I help you?" Brax asks, wondering if something was wrong.
"Look Darryl, I've been debating coming over here and talking to you, but I can't hold off any longer. I need to talk to your two youngest brothers," John requests.
"John, you're making a big deal out of nothing, it was just boys being boys," Marilyn defends; honestly thinking that John was overreacting.
"No Marilyn, it was disrespectful, and I think that they need to learn to respect their elders," John states.
"Woah, woah, woah; can someone please fill me in?" Brax asks. He is so lost, what have his little brothers done?
"Your darling little brothers decided that it was a good idea to prank call me. I just want to talk to them and tell them how disrespectful that is," John explains, causing Marilyn to sigh in the background, she didn't think the boys deserved a scolding.
"Your youngest brother was the leader and I could hear another young fella in the background and I assumed it was Kyle," John explains, "Now are they home?"
"I'm very sorry but the boys aren't home at the moment. Casey is at Romeo's and Kyle's at Dex's," Brax explains, apologetically.
"Well then it must have been Casey and Romeo, as it definitely was the voice of Casey on the line. Now you need to teach that boy how to treat his elders," John lectures and this causes Brax to get annoyed.
"I understand your frustrations John, but I would prefer it if you didn't tell me how to raise my younger brothers. However, I agree that it was wrong what Casey did, and I will be having a chat to him, when he gets home and afterwards, I will be sending him over to you to apologise," Brax says.
"You see that he does," John scoffs.
"Thank you, Brax, have a lovely rest of the night. Come on John," Marilyn says and pulls John away before he can say anything else.
Brax shuts the door in a huff; how can his little brother be so disrespectful?
It is now morning and Kyle and Dex are awake, showered and dressed ready for the day and are eating breakfast with Indi and Sasha; it's pancakes that Indi had made.
"That show was so good, I can't wait to watch more episodes!"
Kyle grins, he is so happy that he is now allowed to watch Titans.
"Is Dick Grayson still your favourite?" Dex asks, but he's pretty sure he already knows the answer.
"Yeah, I love all the characters but he's still my favourite. I love his friendship with Donna. It's great, they're just like brother and sister, although it's hardly surprising considering that they've literally grown up together," Kyle says with a smile.
"I wish Wally West was on the show," he adds.
"I know right," Dex agrees, "Cyborg as well, I mean the comics are so good with all of those characters, so I'm wondering why they aren't all in the show."
At the table with them, Sasha groans.
"Oh my god, my head hurts from all the geekness that is being said," she groans.
"Look, the only thing I know about that show is that the guy who plays Dick Grayson is hot," she says as she puts her bowl in the sink.
Dex rolls his eyes, but Kyle smiles sweetly at Sasha; he sometimes wishes he had a sister, it was a lot different than having brothers.
"Hey Sasha, be nice. Kyle's a guest," Indi says scolding her little sister, there was no need for name calling.
"It's okay Indi… I've ummm… I've been teased way worse by Heath," Kyle says and laughs nervously.
"By the way the pancakes are lovely, thanks for making them, but you didn't have to, I was more than happy with cereal," Kyle smiles at her.
"Thank you, Kyle, that was very sweet of you to say and it was my pleasure," Indi smiles back at Kyle who then looks shyly down.
"What do you want to do now mate?" Dex asks.
One of the things he loves most about Kyle is how chilled he is. He's happy to go with the flow, well other than when his studies are involved.
"Read some comics?" Kyle suggests; he wants to continue to read the teen titans comic.
"Yeah sure, and hey, if you don't finish it you can take it home," Dex offers, smiling, and Kyle smiles back.
"Cheers man, I'm loving it. Heath will probably tease me for reading a comic but hey, that's nothing new, he always teases me when I read comics," Kyle replies, causing both of the boys to laugh.
Just then Sid walks through the door after finishing his night shift.
"Morning Dad," Dex, Indi and Sasha call out to their father.
"Morning Sid, how was your shift?" Kyle asks as he smiles at Sid.
Even though Sid is tired he can't help but smile; he still can't get over how polite Kyle is. Brax has raised him so well.
"Morning kids, and it was good but busy thank you Kyle," he replies.
"Now Kyle, Indi will give you a lift home later today and I hope that you had a nice night and I'm sure I'll be seeing you sometime soon," he smiles.
"Thanks Sid, have a restful rest of the day, we'll be as quiet as possible so that you can sleep." Kyle says smiling at Sid.
"Thank you Kyle," Sid replies, and heads off to his room to get some sleep.
Afterwards Sasha leaves as well.
"Let's go man," Dex smiles at Kyle.
"Wait, shouldn't we help with the dishes first?" Kyle asks, knowing that it's not fair that Indi is left with it all.
Dex rolls his eyes slightly, Kyle's his best friend and he appreciates how polite he is, but sometimes he's a little too polite.
"You can go sit down, Indi, there's not too many dishes. I'm sure that Dex and I can do it," Kyle offers, smiling sweetly at Indi.
Indi smiles back at Kyle.
"Aww, thanks Kyle; that's really sweet, but you are the guest."
"I insist, besides you cooked breakfast," Kyle says softly.
Indi smiles and goes to sit on the couch.
"Seriously man?" Dex asks Kyle as they start loading the dishwasher.
"Why'd you offer to do the dishes?" he whispers.
"Because it's polite and your sister cooked for us, she shouldn't have to clean up as well, that isn't fair," Kyle explains.
"Okay, okay," Dex agrees as he continues to load the dishwasher.
"At least you guys have a dishwasher. We don't and if Casey and I do dishes we actually have to wash them," Kyle laughs.
Back at the Braxton house, Brax is tidying up when Heath walks in the door.
"The shrimps not back yet?" he asks. He is bored and ready to annoy his brothers, maybe give Kyle a wet willy or Casey a dead leg.
"Well, it's still morning so I can guarantee that Casey will still be asleep and Kyle's probably reading comics or building LEGO, they aren't meant to be back until about four o'clock," Brax replies.
"He's such a geek," Heath laughs lightly under his breath.
"What was that?" Brax asks having heard his younger brother.
"Nothing," Heath grumbles, he hadn't intended to say it loud enough for Brax to hear.
"That's what I thought," Brax says, not happy that Heath was calling their younger brother a geek.
He walks over to the kitchen and washes his hands to start prepping dinner.
"You staying for dinner, mate? We are having slow cooked pulled pork sliders and chips," Brax asks as he pulls out the crockpot and puts the pork in it.
"Yeah: absolutely! Anyways, I heard Palmer here last night, is everything alright?" Heath asks as John Palmer doesn't usually come around.
"Yeah, it's fine. Casey and Romeo just did some prank calls, that's all," Brax replies simply, he isn't impressed with his brother and is planning on having a word with him.
"Kyle and Dex too geeky to be involved?" Heath asks cheekily with a grin on his face, but he drops the grin as Brax glares at him.
"Nah, they stayed at Dex's. Casey and Romeo wanted to watch the Scream movies and Dex and Kyle didn't," Brax explains, causing Heath to chuckle, of course his little brother didn't want to watch a scary movie.
"Awww was Spooky a little scaredy cat?" Heath asks, smirking; he is going to have so much fun teasing his little brother over this.
"Heath, you will not tease him okay? You've bullied him enough for getting scared," Brax warns, glaring at his brother.
"I won't," Heath smiles innocently, planning on having some fun with his little brother as soon as they are alone together.
He then looks at his watch.
"Anyway, I've got work. I'll see you later," Heath announces, smiling and he walks out the door and goes to get ready.
It's later in the day and Dex and Kyle are now in Dex's room reading comics. Kyle's about halfway through his volume of New Teen Titans when Indi knocks on the door.
"Yeah, come on in," Dex calls as both he and Kyle look up from his comic books.
Indi walks into the room and smiles at the boys.
"Hey kiddos, would you like to come to the mall with Sasha and I?" Indi asks, causing Dex to turn to Kyle.
"What do you think, you keen?" Dex asks, he wouldn't mind browsing around the mall so see what new LEGO or comic books they had.
"Yeah sure, I've got money to spend and I want to buy a comic book," Kyle replies as he pushes himself up.
"Kyle, I'll probably drop you off straight after the mall so gather up all your bits," Indi says smiling at Kyle who smiles shyly back at her.
"Okay," he answers and gathers up all his stuff with the help of Dex.
Indi walks out to make sure Sasha is ready.
Dex hands him the comic book.
"Here man, I told you that you could take it home. I'll get it off you when you go to school," Dex says, smiling at his best friend.
"You sure?" Kyle asks.
He looks unsure as he knows how special comic books are to Dex, just like they are to him.
"Yeah. Just give it back when you're done, yeah," Dex says and ruffles up Kyle's hair which Kyle quickly fixes.
Soon they have packed up all of Kyle's stuff and are ready to go. Indi comes back in with Sasha behind her, she smiles at the two boys.
"Okay, so you three jump in the car. I'll just quickly let Dad know where we are going," Indi announces.
The three teenagers jump into Indi's car ready to go to the mall.
"What comic book do you want to buy?" Dex asks.
"Batman The Long Halloween," Kyle answers with a smile on his face.
He's been wanting it for a while and now he finally has a chance to buy it.
"You know what, I want that as well. I should buy it and then we can talk about it," Dex cheers with a smile on his face.
"Yeah, that'll be awesome. I'd love that!" Kyle replies with a smile on his face.
Sasha who is in the front passenger seat turns around and rolls her eyes at the two boys.
"As I was saying you two are geeks," she laughs just as Indi gets to the car.
"Okay boys, Sasha and I are going to buy clothes for her, what are you boys going to do?"
"Buy some comic books," Dex says smiling.
"Sounds fun! Let's get going," Indi smiles as she starts driving.
During the drive Sasha and Indi are singing along with the radio and Kyle and Dex are continuing to discuss comic books.
Casey and Romeo are only just waking up and are staggering towards the kitchen.
"Well, well, well, look who is alive," Romeo's Mum laughs.
"You're hilarious Mum," Romeo comments sarcastically, causing Casey to chuckle.
"What's the plan for the day boys?" she asks as she places a glass of juice in front of both the boys.
"Basketball," Romeo replies.
He and Casey grin at each other. They are the most competitive out of all the friends.
"Sounds great! Casey, I'll be dropping you off about four o'clock. What do you think the other boys are up to at the moment?" she asks.
"Next month's homework," Casey smirks as he drinks some juice.
Romeo smirks in response then gives his mother a serious answer.
"Probably LEGO or reading comic books," he answers.
"They're smart ones aren't they?" Mrs Smith smiles.
"The smartest. They could honestly be in year 12 classes. I mean Kyle already takes year 12 Maths," Casey says smiling.
"Yeah and Kyle would probably get top of the class," Romeo adds with a smile.
"Yeah, you're probably right," Casey says, chuckling, "Anyways, lets just eat some food them play some basketball."
Both the boys then grab some cereal ready to scoff it down.
