Thank you for loving the story, please keep posting your reviews…..I enjoy reading them and are very encouraging. Although I'm not particularly good with angst, I felt it was vital to share that viewpoint. It's never simple to start a new relationship with someone you work, and I wanted to express that point of view. Believe me, I detest their fighting as well, and I'll do my best to settle it fast. LOL.

Chapter 4- The truth

He turns around and walks back to Scottie after feeling confused by what happened with Donna.

"Scottie, what are you doing here".

Scottie immediately puts both her palms on his chest and purrs "I am here to talk to you".

Harvey looks at her hand on his chest, taking hold of her wrist he removes her hand. He turns around and ask her to come in.

"So, tell me, Scottie what do you want to talk about".

"Why don't you pour us both a drink and I will make myself comfortable."

Harvey grabs couple of glasses and fetches a bottle of scotch. He hands her the glass and sits on the far end of the couch that Scottie was sitting at. He takes a sip and sees Scottie staring at him from the corner of his eyes.

"What" he asks looking straight at her.

"Usually when we work together, you waste no time pinning me down." She put her glass down gets up from her place and walks towards where Harvey is sitting, she straddles him up and says" it's been 2 days and you haven't even properly looked at me Harvey, what's going on."

Harvey straightens up and looks at Scottie, they have had a long history and even if it has always been casual, he has always admired Scottie for her tenacity and her never back down attitude.

"Nothing is going on".

"You seem different, you don't flirt, you….you feel distant"

Scottie puts both her hand on his shoulder and very slowly starts to roll her hips. He puts his glass on the side table next to the couch and immediately puts his hand on her hips to stop her movements. He looks back at her and says "Scottie, I can't". He starts to lift her, but Scottie holds him back and asks, "Why not."

Rolling her hips again she continues "Talk to me Harvey. What's going on".

He looks back at her and contemplates what to tell her. He decides to go with the truth, "I am dating someone".

Scottie laughs, "that's ridiculous, everyone knows Harvey Specter doesn't do relationship".

He just looks at her and when she looks back at him she says "Oh my god, you are serious".

"I am".

"Who? When? How?"

Harvey tries to pick her up and she hops down and settles next to him. He gets up to get a refill for his drink.

"You don't know her, its fairly new and It just happened". a small smile creeps on his face while talking about Donna.

"Oh my god, you are smitten. She must be special."

"I am not Smitten and yes she is special" he confesses.

"I am happy for you Harvey."

"Thanks Scottie".

"Well, in that case I will leave you be. See you tomorrow at the deputation."

Harvey gives her a curt nod "Goodnight Scottie."

"Harvey, can I at least get a hug."

"Always", he steps ahead and hugs her. They stay embraced for a couple of minutes. Tears well up in her eyes. She pulls herself away and without looking at him just says "Goodnight Harvey" and leaves.

Harvey threads a hand through his hair and checks the time. Its late but he still decides to call Donna. He picks up his phone and waits for the call to get through but all in vain. Sighing he sets the phone aside and goes to bed.

Next day Deputation went the way Harvey wanted. The plaintiff recanted and looked up at Scottie. Scottie wilted and got up from her seat. Tilting her head, she looked at Harvey defeatedly and walked away. Harvey shook hands with his clients, and they thanked him.

He quickly texts Jessica "It's done", puts his phone back in his suit pocket and turns to leave.

He comes across Scottie at the reception, and she looks at him, "I know you are not interested in me, but the least you could do was not to screw me over. You know your client is not being fair."

"Scottie, what I know and believe is in facts and right now, your client is dead to rights. So, unless he decides to perjure himself, which after this deputation is less likely I say you drop this case".

"Harvey"

"What? Hey…. what's going on."

"Last few months haven't been great for me workwise. I thought a class action would help me cover for the previous few months. This loss won't bode well with my boss".

"Hey, the Scottie that I know is tougher than this, when did you start to give up".

She bowed her head down and didn't look up. He gently lifts her chin so that she is looking at her. She looked so defeated.

"Okay Scottie, how about you drop this case, your client gets the severance pay. I will convince my clients not to counter sue, but your client will need to cover the court charges."

"You will seriously do that for me."

"Yes. Why don't you ask your office to type up the paperwork and send it to me and we can put this behind."

Nodding she says, "Thank you, Harvey". She reaches up on her toes and kisses him on the cheek.

Squeezing her arms slightly he says, "See you soon Scottie."

Harvey takes his flight back to New York. He lands later in the night and decides to go straight to Donna's. Entire ride back to her place he keeps thinking about what to say, usually confident Harvey was nervous. He pays the driver, fetches the bag and takes the lift to her house. He knocks the familiar looking door and anxiously waits for her to open.

Donna on the other hand just stepped out from the shower and wraps her silken night gown around her still damp body. She decides to pour herself some wine and settle on the couch to read her book. She just settles when she hears the knock on her door. Surprised as she wasn't expecting anyone to be here, she gets up to open the door.

"Harvey, what are you doing here? I didn't know you were back from Chicago."

"Donna. I wanted to talk. I came directly from the airport. Can I come in?"

"Sure" she steps aside to let him in. Harvey drops his bag near the foyer and goes to stand near the couch.

He had been to Donna's a few times now, but the air between them felt so heavy and unfamiliar. He felt unsettled.

He sees the glass of wine and the book on the center table. Donna immediately catches up on his anxiousness "Settle down Harvey".

She walks towards her kitchen "Do you want a drink? Scotch?"

"Naah….I will have what you are having" she looks back at him…..in all these days she has rarely seen him drink wine, she pours him some and hands him the glass and settles on the couch next to him. She wasn't close but she wasn't sitting far away from him, just within arm's reach.

"Donna, I don't understand what I did wrong. We were talking the other day and I thought you understood but then you hung up and I tried calling you back, but you didn't pick up, neither did you call back."

Donna slightly turned around so that she could face him. She could sense that he was bothered and was trying hard.

"I don't know what to do"?

"How did it go?" He turns to look at her wondering what she is talking about.

"The case Harvey, how did it go?"

"That's what you want to talk about? Really?"

She simply shrugs.

"It was fine."

She keeps looking at him hoping he would say more, Harvey looks at her confused "What? What is going on Donna"?

"That's it? That's all you are going to tell me while I have been burning my head thinking what is going on there"?

"What…...what do you mean? What was supposed to happen there?"

Irritated she asks, "What happened with Scottie?"

He looked at her all confused.

"Come on Harvey, I know how it's like between the two of you. For Christ's sake she came to your room the other night. You really want me to believe nothing happen".

"Donna, listen to me" he puts his glass on the table and shifts closer to her. Picking her glass and putting it away, holding her hands in his he looks back at her straight in the eyes.

"Nothing happened between me and Scottie" she scoffs, and he squeezes her hand to get her attention back. "I am telling you the truth. She tried to make advances at me, but I told her the truth. I told her I am dating you."

She gapes at him, shocked to say the least "You what? you told her about me? "

"I mean I didn't tell her your name or that we work together, but I told her I can't do anything with her as I am dating someone."

"How did she react."

"She was…surprised to say the least" he smirked "but she said she was happy for me."

Nodding Donna calmed a bit and realized how embarrassed she was about this entire situation.

"I am sorry Harvey" she said shyly.

"For what" he said smirking.

She looked at him sneeringly "Don't push it".

Chuckling Harvey looks back at her "Has anyone ever told you, you look cute when you are jealous".

Scrunching her face "I wasn't jealous."

"C'mere" he gently tugs at her.

She goes around and Harvey adjusts himself so that she could straddle him.

"I will share something with you Donna, something that I have never shared with anyone. When I was 8, I caught my mom cheating on my dad. I confronted her and she asked me to keep it a secret. I was young but I knew it was wrong and when years later I got to know that she continued cheating on my dad I told him, and it broke us all up."

The somber look on his face tugged her heart.

"You know you don't ever have to be jealous like that again. I know I have this reputation of being a womanizer and I am sure I will screw what we have in a lot of ways, but I would never cheat on you Donna. Never".

Like a moth to flame, that's what his words felt like to Donna. She holds his face and dips her head immediately to capture his bottom lip.

The kiss felt like heaven, like this entire weight has been lifted off from their shoulders. It was slow but sensual. Harvey wrapped his arms around her and held her tight like his life depended on it.

Abrupt ending…don't worry the next chapter will start with a "Bang" literally. Sit tight. *wink wink*
