They made it back to the house and Sonic laid Manic on the couch while Tails went to grab the first aid kit. Sonic fell to his knees at the sight of his youngest sibling. He couldn't understand… As Manic was slowly gaining consciousness, Sonic took this as an opportunity to get answers.

"Manic… Can you hear me? What happened?"

His sibling stirred at the sound of his voice, "Sonic…? Bro, it's horrible… Mobotropolis… It's…"

Tails returned but stopped right at the hallway into the room and listened…

"Manic, what happened back home? What about mom and sis? The resistance?"

"O-overpowered… Even mom… We need you…"

Manic tried to stay awake but his consciousness started to slip and he fell asleep once more. His words repeated themselves in Sonic's mind. Overpowered mom…? Impossible! There's no way! He couldn't have! But he wouldn't be here if it wasn't true… Sonic thought to himself before Tails snapped him out of it.

"Sonic?"

The hedgehog slowly turned his head to the two tailed fox with the most depressed face his friend had ever seen. It nearly startled him, he never saw Sonic so sad in his life. Sonic was always able to stay on the bright side of things, but this time there wasn't a single glint of hope in his eyes. Tails walked up next to him and started to tend to Manic's wounds.

"Sonic… What's going on? Who is this guy? And did he say Robotnik? As in Eggman…?"

Sonic didn't say anything at first, but gave out a sigh knowing the truth had been exposed.

"Tails. I-" The sound of a door slamming open was heard before a voice yelled out.

"SONIC!"

The two recognized the voice, it was the voice of the Guardian Echidna of the Master Emerald. Sonic got up and ran towards the door to see the echidna with a frightened expression on his face.

"Sonic! Somethings wrong with the Master Emerald. One moment, everything is fine. Next, it starts wrecking havoc! When I was trying to find out why, it gave me an image in my head. An image of…. Them."

Sonic just stood there without moving a muscle. He already knew what he was talking about since his brother was already lying on his couch injured. He closed his eyes and let out a long sigh and motioned for Knuckles to follow. He didn't understand at first, but when he entered the living room and saw Manic. His confusion vanished in an instant. In his head only one last question remained…

"What about…."

Sonic shrugged and shook his head, he doesn't know either. Tails finished cleaning Manic's wounds and wanted answers.

"There. Now, can someone please tell me what's going on? I'm so confused…"

Sonic turns around to face his 'little bro' and kneels to be at eye level with the young fox.

"Tails, there's… something I never told you. Something I didn't want to be known."

"What is it?" Tails asked worryingly.

Sonic looks over to his brother and says,

"That is my brother. My real brother, Manic."

"You have a real brother?!"

"And a sister, and a mother."

"You had a family and never said anything!? Why?!"

"Because I didn't want anybody to know who they are and who I really am!"

Tails stepped back after hearing what he just said. 'Who he really is? What does that mean?' Tails thought.

"W-what do you mean?"

"I am….I'm…" Sonic didn't know how to put this, that he is one of the royal triplets that defeated Robotnik and took back Mobotropolis.

"...I am Sonic Hedgehog, The oldest of the Royal Children of Queen Aleena Hedgehog of Mobius."

"WHAT?!" Tails practically screamed. "You're a Prince!?"

"Yes, I am…" Sonic then pulls out the same shiny object from before out of his quills and gives it to Tails for him to see. "Look at this."

Tails grabbed the medallion and examined it. It was shaped like a double necked guitar with a red leather strip meant to be worn around his neck. He looked over and saw that Manic had one in the shape of a drum set, but the only difference besides the shape was that it was dull and broken. Something must've happened to it, but what he doesn't know.

"I was given that from my mom when I was born. It's a magical medallion that allows me to use its power in an instrument. I just never used it because it would've exposed me. I'm sorry, Tails. I had to keep it a secret after all these years. So Eggman wouldn't attack them. I guess I wasn't doing a good enough job…"

"Eggman? What does he have to do with this?"

Sonic looked at Knuckles for support, but he doesn't know what to say because he is not the hedgehog that went through with his past and shrugs.

"Okay… Tails, you know that I am a triplet of Queen Aleena. Shortly after I was born, Eggman, who was known as Dr. Robotnik at the time, took over the city and my family and I had to go into hiding away from our home."

Sonic's voice was slowly dropping to a whisper with his ear drooping and brows fallen.

"My mother went to seek help from a seer, who revealed a prophecy with her. It revealed that one day, we would reunite with our mother to defeat Eggman once and for all and take back our home."

He had a short feeling of triumph about that, but when he continued with his backstory, his gloomy demeanor returned.

"But we had to be separated and given to different foster families. I was given to a hard working family, but when I was 4 or 5 I…"

He shut his eyes in an attempt to prevent tears from forming.

"I… I lost them. They were-... taken, one night. Then, I had to stay with Uncle Chuck who turned out to be my real uncle. I-I also lost him a few years later as well."

His sadness slowly transformed as he started explaining one of the best things that happened in his life.

"Then, my sibs came along. We had tons of adventures, met new friends. Finally, we were able to drag Egghead out of the capital and won the war! But…."

Sonic paused before Tails snapped him out of it.

"But?"

"It wasn't over. We may have taken the city back, but he got away. I couldn't just let him escape and conquer any more cities. So, I left my family to hunt him down and made sure he never comes back or takes over anything. Knuckles came along too, but we both kept our past a secret… Until now…"

Tails was just stunned, he never heard this side of Sonic before. It made him rethink who he really is. He handed back the medallion after he was done examining it.

Sonic gave an ironic smile. "If I told you I was a prince, you would never treat me like a normal guy. Everyone had always treated me like they owe me everything they have, which is not true." Sonic's eyebrows furrowed at the thought.

"But, that's impossible. The same Eggman that we mocked and joked about for years is the same one that attacked your home and separated you from your family?!"

"Yes" Sonic took one last look at his medallion before putting it on and said,

"I guess it's time to reveal everything. Right, Knuckl-"

Just before he could finish that question and after he finished putting on the medallion, it started to glow a bright blue, nearly blinding everyone in the room. They shielded their eyes from the light and then Sonic noticed the light had faded. He looked around to see that he was no longer in his home. The area was just a void with a dull light gray color.

"Tails?" Sonic called out, turning to look around him in the hopes of seeing any resemblance of his friends but instead being met with the same empty void. "Knuckles? Anyone there? …Manic!?"

Just after calling out to the void, the light gray color of the void turned into a bright purple color and a familiar voice called out…

"S-Sonic!"

He freezes up, starts to look around frantically.

"No way! Is that… Mom?! Is that you?!"

"I don't have much time. Sonic, I need you to focus on your medallion."

He blinked out of confusion. "What? Why? What's going on? Are you-" Aleena cuts him off.

"Please! Sonic! Your sister's life depends on it!"

His heart stops for a brief moment. My sister's life?!

"Sonia?! What happened to her!?"

"Sonic!"

"Right! Right…" Sonic did as he was told.

He closed his eyes and placed a hand on his medallion. It glowed softly before he felt an unknown power course through him. It felt like he was about to transform into his super form, but he didn't.

"W-what's happening?" He asked his mother.

"I'm giving you my power, I cannot let it fall into his hands. I have to go. Please take care of them, my son."

"Mom! Wait!"

The next thing he knew, he was back home with Tails and Knuckles shielding their eyes. He was cut off from his mother the moment the transfer was complete. There was something strange, though. He felt like something was weighing him down. Once his friends put their hands down from shielding themselves, they both looked shocked and gave a gasp upon seeing Sonic. That's when he looked down and saw what he was carrying. Or rather, who.

"Sonia?!"

(A/N) Well now! Looks like trouble came to Mobotropolis despite Sonic's efforts. What will he do without his mother once more? His siblings are injured and need care, What will he do? Stay tuned!
