Sometimes, he still dreams about his family, his real family, who loved him so much the warmth of it still lingers at the edges of his heart even now.
It distracts him from the mission, from the cause, and so, when he wakes, Kylo Ren works hard to force the memories of his childhood away, of the mother who stroked his hair and called him her precious boy, of the father who assured him there was nothing he couldn't do if he put his mind to it.
The dark side is his place now, Snoke is his master, and the Knights of Ren are the only allies he needs... that's what the pain-filled boy dressed up in the black cloak tells himself, but deep down, he knows better, because he can never completely forget being Ben Solo.
