I know it's been awhile but I have a good reason. The next semester for my collage classes started and I now have other priorities and other stories I'm currently focusing on, so any future update to this story is going to be less frequent than the previous ones.

So please, bear with me and continue to review and comment or at the very least be a silent reader. Either way I deeply appreciate it!

Now, On to the Endgame!

Dawn had just risen from the horizon and everyone was getting ready for their final battle, at least for the Underground. Tails, Amy, and Knuckles returned from Angel Island and found three more emeralds along their journey. Shadow and Rouge found two more. So that leaves the one emerald that Eggman took. Once they take his, they'll have all seven emeralds to use against the dictator.

"Is everyone ready?" Amy announced.

"Yeah, let's do this!" Silver beamed.

Tails was with the group, giving the best smile he could, but when he turned away and saw Sonic looking out the window, it fell. He walked past the others to get closer and stopped when Sonic unexpectedly called out to him.

"Yes, Tails?"

Startled, Tails tried to speak, but it came out incoherent. "I-I… Uh- Are you- "

"Listen, Tails…" He interrupted, causing Tails to shut his mouth and stand still. "If you still think I'm just going to abandon you once I get my whole family back, you are dead wrong. I know I should've said something to you about them, but I couldn't. If I did, I would've lost them entirely…" He let his head fall and his forehead landed on the glass as he shut his eyes. "Ever since we became best friends…" He lifted his head and looked at Tails with a smile. "I hoped that one day, when all of this was finally over, you could join me."

Tails froze in place, he wasn't expecting that at all, but the reassurance he gave was deeply sincere. The thought that he really was never going to leave his side no matter what, made him smile back. Tears welled up in his baby blue eyes and Sonic pulled themselves into a hug, which he gratefully accepted. After they parted, something was still processing in his mind.

"Sonic? What do you mean that, 'I could join you,' exactly…" he hesitated.

"I mean you could be-"

"Sonic! Come on, Faker. Everyone is waiting." Shadow yelled.

Sonic groaned and stood up, gesturing to his buddy to follow. Everyone was finally gathered in the living room, packed and ready to fight. Even Sonia and Manic were already starting to leave with them, but when Sonic saw them leaving the front door, he stopped them.

"Where are you guys going?" He asked in his cheerful voice.

"You can't be serious, blue. Did you forget everything we just planned?" Rouge grunted.

"No…" He smirked, "Why travel when I can Chaos Control us there?"

"Doesn't that take a lot of energy for a group of this size?" Blaze wondered.

"Not when you have the Chaos Emeralds!"

At the mere mention of them, the Chaos Emeralds started to glow and float towards Sonic, hovering slowly as they spun around him.

"It would be a lot faster… and we don't have to waste our energy on walking for the battle." Amy concluded.

Everyone agreed and made a small circle with all of them huddled together as Sonic channeled his and the emeralds energies. With one swift snap of his fingers, they all teleported to the outskirts of the destroyed capital and began their arrival. The gang besides Shadow and the royal triplets looked in horror at the destruction and they were all disgusted when the sight of construction for Eggman's base came into view. He was attempting to rebuild what the city demolished years ago.

Of course, robots showed up whenever they were spotted, 'Classic Egghead' Sonic thought. They never stood a chance against Sonic alone, let alone the rest of the group. This was happening over and over until they reached some kind of hanger at his newly built base. Tails was able to override the doors and they lifted. Once they were all inside, the gate shut and they were all in pitch black darkness. Blaze used her fire ability to make a small flame in her palm, large enough to see past themselves, but only by several feet.

"What is this room?" Knuckles questioned.

No one could give an answer as they could barely see their surroundings. They all walked maybe several feet with no luck in finding any door, but several walls blocking their path. However, Manic's eyes caught something, but it faded away as Blaze walked away with their only light.

"Blaze! Over here!" he called.

Blaze obeyed and the others followed as to not be lost in the darkness. The area was fully lit up by the flame to what revealed to be a cage or a cell in the wall. The hedgehog's eyes went wide with fear as he saw that the cell was empty and the bloody, loose, open chains. He clenched his fist and slammed it into the chains.

"No!"

"What is it?" Sonia asked.

"Can't you see? This was the cell from the image, But mom is missing!"

"What?!" She screamed.

The fuchsia hedgehog grabbed onto the bars and looked inside, only to have the same fear. She gasped and fell backwards in shock.

"I-Impossible, he must've known!"

"Rule number 1 - Never trust Eggman's word." Sonic stated matter-of-factly.

"MWHAHAHA!" A loud voice laughed. It echoed around the room and everyone started to feel a chill down their spine. It was him, he lured them into a trap.

"Tsk tsk tsk. Foolish Hedgehog, Did you really think I was stupid enough to keep the queen here?"

"Robotnik!" Manic spat.

"What did you do with mother?" Sonia barked.

Eggman only chuckled at the sight of the royal triplets' presence.

"OOOO! I see you brought your family with you! Not to worry, your mom is alive and well, but she won't be in a while. You see, I knew you were gonna come speeding into my fortress and expect to rescue her. But unfortunately, you were wrong."

"Where is she, Robuttnik!" Sonic demanded.

"My, I haven't heard that insult in years! But to answer your question, what if I told you that you're right below her?"

Everyone gave a look of confusion and stared at each other.

"What does that mean?" Tails spoke.

"How about I show you?"

Eggman then pressed down hard on a button in his egg mobile and laughed as a hatch above the crew opened. A new figure appeared freefalling towards them.

"WATCH OUT!" Knuckles warned.

Everyone jumped out of the way just before whatever was falling hit the ground. The impact was so hard that the ground shook and a slight crater formed in the ground. After the smoke cleared, a figure stood up from the dust. Once the smoke and dust cleared, they saw a horrible sight,

"N-no…" Sonic whispered.

In front of him was… Aleena, but she is not herself. She was covered in robotic parts, her wrist was turned into an arm cannon and the right side of her head was covered in a metal sheet with some sort of optical screen glowing red in front of her right eye. Mechanical parts and wires were placed spread out along her body. Some wounds are still bleeding from the implants. The gang was completely disgusted by what he did to her, but not as much as the Underground crew. They felt nothing but rage build up slowly.

"Say hello to your new mother! HAHAHAHA! I hope you enjoy her, I worked so hard on it!"

"Mom! No!" Manic squealed.

"I'm going to kill you, Robotnik!" Sonia screamed.

"Kill me? How are you gonna do that when your mother is gonna kill you? Aleena, FINISH THEM!"

Aleena obeyed without hesitation and raised her arm cannon, charging slowly before firing a huge blast. Everyone scattered to avoid the shot, but Sonic tripped and fell. At that moment, he remembered his dream. The scream… The dreamscape… Her injuries… He did all of that. Sonic's rage started to rise even faster than before, causing his aura to flare and his eyes go blood red. He starts running towards the Egg mobile, screaming a battle cry.

"EGGMAN!"

"Not so fast hedgehog!" He pressed another button on his remote and two metal bars rose up and latched onto Sonic's arms, not allowing him to move. "Let's see how you feel watching the carnage."

Sonic is forced to watch his own mother attack everyone... Shadow and Rouge attempts a full on attack run. Silver, Knuckles, and Tails try to dodge the blasts from Aleena's arm cannon. Blaze and Amy try to flank her, but Manic and Sonia are trying to get through to her and beg her to stop… Sonic closed his eyes and tried to channel his energy, but the dictator saw this and began his counterattack. Some kind of device from his hovercraft extended and rotated to aim for Sonic. One good look revealed that this weapon was using the last chaos emerald as a power source. Sonia looked around and gasped at the sight.

"Sonic!" She ran and used her medallion to transform itself into her keyboard and aimed directly at Eggman. "Let him go!"

"What? Are you going to stop me? Go ahead, try." he mocked with a wicked grin.

"Don't, Sonia!" Sonic begged.

Sonia readied her weapon and was about to fire, hands steady on the keys. But before she could press any key, a loud blast connected to her back.

"SONIA!" Sonic screamed.

Everyone stopped their assault to process what just happened. They saw Aleena with her arm cannon stretched out towards Sonia, completely still with her cannon powering down.

"NO!" Manic yelled.

Sonia dropped her keyboard and fell to her knees, only giving a scared expression on her face. She looked back up to Sonic before collapsing entirely onto the floor. Manic raced next to her and checked on her. She had severe burns on her back from the impact, let alone any other effects in her system. He grabbed her hand tightly in his hopes to keep her awake.

"Sonia! Sonia! Look at me!" He pleaded.

She didn't respond… She just laid there with her eyes closed shut tightly.

Eggman just laughs, "Nothing better than a family reunion. Maybe I should've brought a bite to eat, maybe not. The guests won't be staying much longer…"

He pressed another button and fired his weapon on Sonic.

"AHHHHHH..Hgrnnn..WHAAAAAA!"

"SONIC!" Amy screeched.

Eggman was draining Sonic of all his power, including his mother's. He had to do something. He had his mind racing to come up with something before time was up, but nothing. Time was running out, his medallion losing its shine, and he could feel Aleena's power being stripped away. He had no choice…

Silver and Tails took that moment to run and pin Aleena down to the ground so that she is no longer a threat.

"Now we don't have to use viole-..." Tails tried to say before he looked over to Sonic, "Uh-oh…"

"What's wrong hedgehog? Egg caught your tongue?" Eggman asked.

Sonic's fur starts to change from the tip of his quills downward into a dark shade of purple and his aura flared uncontrollably the same color.

"Oh, no… He's-" Silver breathed.

"Grrr…RAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Sonic screamed at the top of his lungs as a huge shockwave of energy disperses around the room, breaking his chains. "Ah ha ha ha!"

"Uh-oh, This is gonna get ugly. Robots! Attack cell number 5!" he barked before flying away.

"Oh, no you don't!" Sonic's deep and demonic voice spoke before he followed after him.

The room went totally silent besides Aleena's attempt to escape, but that stopped when a hoard of bots started rushing in. Shadow, Rouge, Silver, and Blaze gave cover to Tails who was trying to do something with Aleena. Manic took Sonia to their protective position with Knuckles' help and Manic stayed by Tails' side.

"What are you doing, Tails?"

"I'm going to see if I can do anything for Aleena, maybe I can try to reprogram her." He replied.

"Reprogram her?! This is my mom we're talking about! What if you make a mistake and she's lost forever!?" Manic trembled.

"Manic, it's the only choice we have currently.. If I can just get rid of Eggman's program…"

Tails opens some kind of panel behind Aleena's head and starts to rewire her circuits. A few button presses later, he completes his task and yanks hard on a wire, removing both ends from her mind. Large sparks flew out in response and Aleena screamed as if she felt the pain. Then, she goes limp and her optical screen dimmed to black and she closed her eyes.

"TAILS, WHAT DID YOU DO?!" Manic fumed.

"I tried to release her mind from his control!" Tails stuttered.

"Mom?! MOM?! TAILS, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?"

Tails was starting to get confused. Normally, his hacking attempts are instantaneous, but this time…"I-It should've worked…"

Manic's eyes started to fill with tears once more, now having lost his sister and mother. "T-Tails… If- If she doesn't wake up… You. Are. DEAD!"

The others were just finishing up destroying all the other bots, but one slipped by Blaze and made its attack run.

"Tails! Manic! Look out!" she warned.

But it was too late, they didn't have enough time to get up and run. Any second now, one of them was about to deal with a heavy blow from the bot. But then, the sound of a cannon rings out and the bot is destroyed. Tails, Manic, and all the others turn in shock. Aleena was the one who fired, something happened to her. Her untouched eye was open wide and her optical right eye shining a purple color instead of Eggman red. She was breathing heavily from the sudden movement after waking up.

"Ah-ha! I knew it worked!" Tails rejoiced.

"M- Mom?!"

Aleena snapped her head around to face Manic with a look of terror. She tried to stand and run, but with her injured state she only groaned in pain as she fell.

"Mom!" Manic ran to her side and held her up.

She could only look away in tears and shame. She didn't want him to see her like this.

"Mom, it's ok…" Manic whispered.

Aleena continued to cry right in front of her son, "I- I'm sorry…"

Her voice sounded distorted and slightly robotic. Manic shook his head in confusion, what is she sorry about?

"For… For what?"

"For what my fate has become…"

"H-How can you be sorry for that?! This wasn't your fault!" He reasoned.

"I should not have become… This…" Referencing her roboticized body, "I was too weak to stop him…"

"Mom, you weren't weak… Robotnik just got us by surprise…"

"No, Manic… I should've been better…"

Manic saw that words will not get through to her, so he does what does get through to her in times like this. He went in for a tight, loving embrace. She instantly ceased her crying as the realization kicked in, she slowly returned it back and they both were silent before a pink hedgehog reached out to them.

"Manic…"

The hedgehog mother and son broke off and looked over. Much to Aleena's shock, they saw Amy by Sonia's side, she has not moved an inch since she fell. They both moved over to her and Aleena could only feel guilt and shame for what she did to her own daughter, she carefully picked up Sonia and hugged her as well.

"I'm so sorry, my daughter. I didn't want any of this…"

Sonia heard her plea and tried to talk but it came off a bit of a raspy whisper,

"It's alright… mother…"

"I'm sorry to interrupt…" Blaze spoke, "But are we just gonna ignore the fact that Sonic just transformed into… whatever that was?"

"We need to find him now. Who knows what kind of destruction that transformation can do." Knuckles chimed in.

'Transformation…?' Aleena thought. 'Wait, are they talking about-'

Aleena gasped at the thought and carefully lowered Sonia into Amy's arms. She slowly got on her feet and started to walk away. Manic looked at her puzzled,

"Mom?"

She didn't answer, she only limb towards the direction Eggman and Sonic blasted through.

"Mom, where are you going?"

"I need to find Sonic." She replied.

"You can't! You need help!" Silver blurt out.

Knuckles screamed at that bizarre response

"You can't be serious, that's suicide! I sensed his power, it's unstable and-"

"Dark…" Aleena finished. "That's why I'm going, he needs me now more than ever. Please, don't stand in my way, Knuckles."

"Your majesty, you are in a critical state. You are in no position to fight Sonic, you must follow us to safety. I am the only one that can rival your son, I will deal with him." Shadow asserted.

"Your concern is noted and your courage is admirable, but I must do this myself."

"At least let me go with you!" Manic pleaded.

"No! I may be queen, but I still am your mother. Manic, stay here. That's an order."

Aleena was halfway through an exit when a small two tailed fox stopped her in her tracks. He had the most saddening look on his face as they made eye contact.

"Please, help him…" he pleaded.

Aleena stared at him for a little while longer into his eyes and sensed nothing but worry and sincerity… and something else… It felt so familiar, but she had never seen him before. Maybe this is just from Sonic's feelings towards him, she did sense a strong bond with him and this fox. Before she could reply, she felt something being placed in her hand. She broke eye contact and saw a bright yellow emerald, shining in the palm of her hand. Her optical eye was scanning and analyzing every detail, she had to focus on her normal eye to focus. She clutched the emerald and resumed eye contact.

"Thank you…" she smiled.

Tails smiled back and moved out of the way to let her pass. She walked out to what seemed to be a back door to the outside and shut the door behind her. The sound reverberated all around the room and died out a few moments later, but the sound of a certain hedgehog complaining filled the silence.

"Like mother, like son…" Shadow groaned, which deserved a slap in the head from Manic.

"That's my mother you're talking about!"

It took nearly all of Shadow's strength not to obliterate him on the spot.

Manic looked back at the door with a determined look,

"I'm sorry, mom…" He pulled out cyan emerald from his quills, "I have to disobey that order…"

Manic started running towards the door, but Shadow Chaos Controlled in front of him and grabbed him by the vest.

"You heard her orders, didn't you?"

"Bro, I'm her son, not a subject. I can disobey if she puts herself in danger!" Manic asserted.

"You are just like Sonic…" he grunted.

"Heh, Runs in the family." he said before headbutting Shadow to break free and ran outside the door.

"That little-"

"Cool it, Shadow. Let him be." Rouge interrupted.

"He's just trying to protect his mother…" Tails said, "I would do the same if…"

Tails didn't need to finish his sentence, everyone knew his situation about his parents. They all lowered their heads in respect. But what would happen now that Manic is after her?

"Guys…" Amy interrupted, "We need to get Sonia some help, she's losing consciousness!"

"Fine…" Shadow pulled out his red emerald and Chaos Controls him, Sonia and Rouge out of the base, possibly to a hospital back home.

Amy, Knuckles, Tails, Silver, and Blaze were left alone.

"So, what now?" Amy asked.

"I think we should follow the others, maybe they could use a hand to deal with Eggman." Knuckles suggested.

And that's what they did. The three opened the back door and started to track down Manic and Aleena to render aid in case of trouble.

Aleena continued walking down a path of destruction until a damaged hovercraft crashed into a field nearby. She walked as fast as she could in her current state and managed to arrive at the scene before her. Eggman's craft was damaged and possibly beyond repair, the device he used that had the emerald inside was on the ground nearly completely destroyed. Eggman was crawling out and was about to stand, but a certain hedgehog stood in front of him.

"Well, Robotnik... It seems you have reached your end."

Sonic saw the last emerald in its cage, he punched the glass case and pulled out an overloaded blue emerald. He turned to the so-called emperor and raised his palm to aim at him with a large energy ball,

"Any Last Words?"

"Sonic!"

He turned his head around to see his mother struggling to run towards him. For a moment, his eyes returned from completely white to his green pupils.

"M-Mom?"

"Don't do it, Sonic!"

"But…" His eyes fade away to white when he remembers everything he did to them and faces back to Eggman's frightened face. "HE is the reason for our pain, our separation, his continuous attempts to take control, the destruction of our home, harming or killing innocents for his pitiful excuse for an empire, and everything he has done to us... " He turned back to his mother, "EVERYTHING HE HAS DONE TO YOU! WOULDN'T YOU WANT THIS SCUM TO GET WHAT HE DESERVES?"

"Look at yourself! You are losing control!"

Sonic chuckled, but his laugh was not his own. It was almost as if he was someone else entirely…

"Sonic realized there was no other choice. He didn't lose control... He gave me control. Even with his power combined with yours he was powerless to save others. And... I suppose killing off his enemies is a good exchange for my release…"

"But this isn't right! You can't end it like this!"

"Not everything has a happy ending... That's why they leave it to people like ME to deal with it. I have no problem ending one's life unlike that puny excuse of a prince... If you think you can stop me, go ahead and try…" He smirked with a quivering evil grin.

Aleena raises her emerald and it starts to glow brightly, energizing herself and the emerald for battle. She also armed her cannon and pointed directly at Sonic.

"Alright, have it your way... HA!"

Sonic moved his hand faster than light and fired his beam. Aleena tried her best to avoid the attack, but because of her condition, speed was not on her side. She was able to avoid a few shots, but the next hit and sent a few feet back. The sudden burst of energy overloaded her mechanical parts, causing some of them to shut down. She couldn't fully sit up anymore. Sonic could only laugh at the result.

"HA! I thought Egghead would've had protection against energy spikes!" He turned back at the doctor who was running away from the fight. Sonic furrowed his brow and raised his palm once more. Another energy ball formed even bigger than before.

"Coward…"

"NO!" Aleena screamed.

He fired…

The beam connected and anything in its path was completely obliterated with no trace. Eggman was nowhere in sight…

"What an excuse of-"

He stopped mid sentence as he felt a sudden jab of pain in his head. He grabbed his head and started to shake violently from the pain.

"What?! Impossible! How are you- AGGHH!"

Aleena looks back at Sonic and is confused on what is causing his pain, but when she took another look, she saw a new color start to appear from the tips of his quills. It was starting to glow more of a golden color rather than dark purple. His eyes were struggling as well and she saw them fade from white to his green eyes and back.

"Ugh! No one-... AH! Hurts my… Mother!" He grunted.

"Sonic?" Aleena gasped.

"What are you doing?! You need me!" his counterpart argued.

"You hurt Mom! All bets are off!" Sonic snapped.

Sonic's fur was starting to turn more golden than purple and continued to struggle to fight for his mind as Aleena finally rebooted and stood up. She raised the emerald and used some kind of beam that enveloped Sonic like a small yellow bubble shield. Sonic's counterpart started to feel the effects and screamed in pain from him losing control, just like the first time, but it was too slow. He was trying to break free from the bubble and Sonic's influence. It was only a matter of time and strength before the next thing would happen. The counterpart was preparing another attack on Aleena and she would not be able to avoid this one. He was about to fire when another beam connected. It was cyan in color and Aleena turned her head to the source. It was Manic standing a few feet away behind her,

"Manic-"

"I'm sorry, mom, but I couldn't let you do this alone. Not with you and Sonic on the line!"

Aleena didn't know what to say. She was angry that he disobeyed, but proud for what he's doing.

"Come on! I can't do this by myself!" Manic said, which caused her to snap out of it and hold their ground.

"GAAHHHH! You can't stop me! I WILL KILL ALL OF YOU!"

Sonic's counterpart gave one final scream before he lost all power. His fur is no longer purple, but not golden either. Aleena and Manic lowered their arms to see Sonic on the ground unconscious with his normal cobalt blue color.

"Is he… back?" Manic whispered.

"I… believe so…" Aleena replied.

"Guys!"

Aleena and Manic turned around and saw Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Silver, and Blaze running towards them in a hurry. They arrive to see Sonic on the ground and Amy immediately drops to his side and holds him in her arms.

"What happened here?" Knuckles questioned.

"Long story, Knux. Let's just get out of here…" Manic answered and started to walk away.

Tails looked around and saw the destroyed weapon and damaged Egg Mobile without its owner.

"Hey, Where's Eggman?"

This question was answered by a horrified look from Aleena who just shook her head slowly. They all got the hint and decided to follow Manic back home. Knuckles carried Sonic as he was still unconscious and probably has injuries he doesn't know about while the rest filled them in on what happened after they left. They all arrived back home maybe an hour later with a few horrified looks from the citizens that were walking by. They were all likely towards Sonic who was knocked out and for the poor roboticized Mobian who they didn't recognize. Just as they were all about to arrive at Sonic's house, Manic stopped and turned around. Aleena saw this and followed him.

"Manic? Where are you going?"

"I'll be right back, mom. I just want to check on Sonia. Silver said Shadow and Rouge took her to the hospital, right? I'll be fine." Manic assured.

Aleena was hesitant at first, but he has shown that he can hold off in simple fights before… and with Robotnik gone, there shouldn't be any trouble.

"You better be here before dark."

"I will, I promise."

Manic turned around and walked down the path closer to the center of the village.

Manic walked alone for a while before reaching the same hospital he went to days ago. There wasn't any trouble when he walked past shops or other people, but he did hear some of the other Mobians whispering behind him. Most he couldn't hear, but some of the whispers he did hear was something about the way he looked or something about his medallion. The double doors automatically slid open and he walked in to see Shadow waiting for him in the lobby.

"Finally, you showed up."

"Well, sorry for making sure everyone got home ok, dude."

"Just head to room C62, she's in there."

Manic did just that, he left without saying another word to him. He walked down the long hallway until he saw Rouge guarding her door.

"Hey, green. Great to see you alive!"

"Green?" Manic puzzled.

"I have to call you something, don't I? Don't sweat it, I called Sonic 'blue' when I first met him." Rouge said.

"You know you could've asked for my name, you know?" He grunted.

"Now where's the fun in that?"

Manic sighed, "Look, can I just please see my sister?"

"Oh!" Rouge immediately moved out of the way with an apologetic look, "Right, sorry…"

Manic slowly opened the door and saw Sonia in a hospital bed sound asleep. That was until she heard the door. She opened her eyes and looked to her side.

"Manic…?"

The green hedgehog walked slowly closer and gave his sister a long and warm hug.

"You alright, sis?" He whispered.

"I'm okay…"

Manic released her from the hug and she rested her head back on her pillow.

"How's your back?"

"The doctor said that it would heal, but whatever hit me, pushed my system hard. D-Did we win the fight?"

"Ye-Yeah… sorta…" He stuttered.

"What happened with Mother…? Is she…?"

"...She's fine…" Manic stated as he sat next to her and looked out the window nearby. "She's back… but…"

"..Is she still-...?"

"R-Roboticized… yep…"

Manic lowered his head in sadness from giving that response and Sonia looked down at her hands as she twiddled with her thumbs.

"Then, you should go back."

"What? N-No, I'm staying here until you're out." He protested.

"Manic, I'll be fine. You need to go back and help mother."

"I can't just leave you here! We're siblings, we need to look out for each other!"

"And you did! But now you need to look out for mother! She needs all the help she can get right now. I'll be fine, Manic."

He sighed in frustration. He didn't want to abandon his siblings, but he can't just ignore his mother too. And the hospital is aware of their royal status, so they would immediately respond if anything went wrong. Meanwhile his mom is back at Sonic's home upset about everything that's happened to her and us. Since Sonic is knocked out of commission, he is the only one left to comfort her.

"Alright, fine. But I'm gonna check on you tomorrow morning."

"Just don't wake me up." she warned.

"No promises." he chuckled.

He got up and walked to the door and opened it. Rouge was still there, standing next to the door.

"Say hi to the others for me." Sonia spoke as he was halfway out the door.

"I will."

He shut the door and Rouge told him that her and Shadow were going to guard the door in rotation for the time being. Manic was a little confused but didn't question it. He walked down the hall to the entrance and left to head home before sundown.
