Sonic was indeed standing on top of the boss room. Getting out of the way, he set one bomb down on the floor which exploded it. Then, Sonic jumped into the boss room and waited for the boss to come. It wasn't long before footsteps lumbered toward him. The boss Sonic had to fight was King Dodongo. When he opened his mouth, Sonic threw a bomb in there to stun him. Sonic did a jump attack on him. King Dodongo rolled after Sonic, but the little hedgehog was much too fast for the heavy guy to catch. When he stopped rolling, Sonic threw another bomb in his mouth and did another strong attack when he was stunned. "Only one more left," Sonic panted as King Dodongo chased him round the room once more. When he opened his mouth again, Sonic quickly tossed another bomb at him before he could shoot fire. The bomb stunned him and Sonic delivered the finishing blow. The rocky monster was defeated. He rolled into the lava pit and his now-defeated body put it out. Sonic thought it was pretty funny. But now that the lava was gone, it was safe to walk in the pit toward the blue portal that magically appeared. Sonic was soon taken to the outside of the Goron City.
On the Death Mountain trail, Scarlet Scorch appeared. "Well done, Sonic!" she said, happily hugging him. "The Gorons can once again eat the delicious rocks from Dodongo's cavern until their stomachs burst!" She chuckled excitedly. "What a wild adventure! This will make a great story."
"I'll never forget it," said Sonic.
Scarlet Scorch sighed and hung her head. "I can't believe the dodongos suddenly appearance in such great numbers. It must've been that dark man in black. He said 'Give me the spiritual stone. Only then will I open the cave for you.' That's why I didn't trust you before." She gave Sonic a smile as warm as her body. "But you risked your life for us. I like you Sonic! How's about you and I become sworn brothers?"
"Sounds good to me," said Sonic. "I suppose I could stick around for a ceremony before I have to find the last spiritual stone."
"Oh, no, there's no ceremony involved," said Scarlet Scorch. "It's just my way of expressing my friendship to you. Now here's a token of my thanks." And with that, Scarlet Scorch carefully took the red spiritual stone out of her tiara and handed it to Sonic. "Wow," said Sonic, placing the stone in his bag. "Sonic, be sure to keep brushing up on your skills, okay?" said Scarlet Scorch, placing an arm around her sworn hedgehog brother. "Will do," said Sonic. "You should see Prince Daniel Dolphin," said Scarlet Scorch. "He guards the spiritual stone of water."
Hmm, water eh? Good thing I have my magic water bracelet, thought Sonic.
"Hey, Gorons, come here!" called Scarlet Scorch. "Let's see of our brother." She gave a loud whistle and two gorons appeared. "You did great," said one. "How about a big goron hug, brother?" asked the other. Sonic backed away nervously. "Uh, thanks, but, I think I'll pass," he said.
