Disclaimer: I do not own any characters. If I did, the Party would actually care about Steve when he's injured.
This was not going well.
They hadn't seen Vecna yet.
But Will said he was to tired for the fight.
Eleven was doing most of the heavy lifting.
They were in the junkyard, fighting vines, demogorgons, and demo-dogs.
The adults were in Ohio, looking into something for the lab.
The Party was hanging out in the Wheelers, when they got a Code Red from Max.
She was walking from the trailer park, the physical therapist said walking was good for her leg.
She passed by the junkyard, when she saw something
The Upside Down was back.
So here they were, wielding weapons, cutting off demo-dos heads, cutting vines.
When it was finally going good for them, it got worse.
Steve was swinging his bat toward a demogorgon, not looking behind him to see a slithering vine come up towards him.
It grabbed him from the back of his neck, throwing him to the ground, vines wrapping around his ankles and wrists, securing him down.
And if it couldn't have gotten worse, 3 demogorgons and 2 demo-dogs were coming at him.
"STEVE!" Robin screamed running toward him with her spear.
Eddie and Max followed in suit, stabbing, and killing the demogorgons.
Two shots rang out and the two demo-dogs were on the ground, dead.
Nancy was holding a shot gun with a scary look on her face.
Eddie and Robin were able to cut the vines, freeing Steve.
While Steve was lying on the ground, gasping for air, Eleven was realizing that this wasn't a fight they shouldn't stay for.
She started to push the creatures of the Upside Down back where they came from, a stretching gate under a busted car.
She pushed them all in, starting to close the gate.
With a final scream, it was closed.
Panting heavily, she breathed out, "Let's get out of here."
They were a weary looking bunch.
Steve was being supported by Eddie and Robin, the vines cutting into his skin more harshly this time.
Max was being supported by Lucas and Dustin, having overdone it, causing soreness in her leg.
Eleven was being supported by Mike and Will, having used not all her powers, but just enough that it made her dizzy with every step.
Erica and Nancy were leading the group to Eddie's van, which was parked down the road.
They all climbed in, Nancy turning in the driver's seat to look at the group.
"Where to?" she asked.
"Steve's?" Robin suggested, but Steve shook his head, mumbling something about how his parents were in town.
Of course. The one time they needed an empty house, Steve's parents were in town.
They all sat in thought for a few moments.
The Byers were out. The lab was testing other things there, since a lot of crap went down there.
And everybody's places were out. They all had people who would ask to many questions.
Well besides Eddie's and Max's trailers. They were vacant most of the time, but the cops still drove around that area often, despite of Eddie getting his name cleared.
They were all trying to figure out where was the best place to go, who would ask not so many questions, who had minimal people in their house.
Finally, Robin thought of someone.
"I know where to go."
DING DONG!
The Party stood on the front porch, only Steve needing to be supported, with El and Max getting their strength mostly back.
The front door opened, and there was...
Vickie.
She looked confused at first, then shocked when she saw Steve.
"Hey," Robin started. "We need a place to crash. Would you mind?"
"Uhm," Vickie looked to each of the Party members. "Sure, I guess."
Vickie held the door open for everyone, and when Steve passed through the doorway, she pointed him toward the bathroom.
While Nancy and Eddie were cleaning up Steve and the kids got blankets from the closet laying them on the floor, making beds for everyone, Robin tried to explain everything to Vickie by... lying.
"We were at the Wheelers, when Max radioed us and told us Jason and the basketball team was in the junk yard coming towards her. When we got there, Max had been running from them, making her leg sore. Things didn't go to well for Steve. They had sheets that they tied him down with. Jane was sick the last couple weeks, so all that fighting exhausted her. Our parents hate when we get into fights, since we get into lots of them, even though it isn't always our fault, so the last option was to come here." Robin finished with a deep breath.
"Wow," Vickie whispered. "Didn't Max break her leg over spring break?"
"Yeah," Robin responded. "She was attacked and put into a four-day coma, and they broke her leg and fractured her wrist."
"Oh gosh," Vickie breathed.
Robin just nodded.
Steve came out of the bathroom, all bandaged up, supported by Eddie and Nancy.
When Steve was on the couch, the kids all go and curl up next to him, murmuring soft words.
Robin and Vickie just observed, until Robin broke the silence.
"I'm sorry that we bothered you."
"On no, you weren't a bother at all," Vickie assured her. "I do have one question."
"Shoot."
"Why my house? I don't mind at all, but why did you think of me as a place to crash?"
"Well, I remember you saying that your parents were going to be gone for two weeks and you seem like a person that doesn't ask too many questions right away, instead just waiting for a good chance to. Also, I didn't know how bad Steve's injuries were and I didn't really want him to die." Robin explained.
Vickie nodded, looking over everyone, who were fast asleep.
"Guess we should hit the hay," she said.
Robin nodded, grabbing a blanket and adding herself to the pile of Party members.
Vickie headed to her room before turning.
"Night Robin,"
"Night Vickie,"
Everyone slept peacefully that night.
Vickie woke up to an empty house and a note.
Thanks for letting us crash
-Robin and others
Vickie smiled
"Anytime," she said out loud. "Anytime."
