AN: Sorry for the delay in getting this out. I hope you enjoy it and are not too confused. There was a jumping of events at the end of the last chapter and this gives more explanation. I also want to say that this is a Klonnie story but it really is about Bonnie and her journey of becoming what she is meant to be. This is about a woman that has been boxed in and labeled by other people and their thoughts and expectations of her and how she breaks free. So there will be times when you will not like Bonnie but it is okay. Trust me and take this ride with me. I appreciate the reviews and feedback, they help me go on. Thank you so much. Stay safe and continue to be good people.

Chapter 6

They had argued from the time Elijah left them alone after making sure everything that Klaus had arranged was perfectly executed. Bonnie was so done and needing to be away from Jeremy. So Bonnie suggested they just go home, but Jeremy wanted to continue on with their original plans.

As they went back and forth debating the issue, Jeremy peppered in questions about the night before trying to see if he could trip her up, catching her in a lie, but unknown to him lying to him was becoming a second language to Bonnie, one that she was mastering.

When he couldn't get anything out of her he resorted to pouting, giving her the cold shoulder, next came shouting and cursing while spewing outlandish verbal attacks at her, anything to get his way. And it worked. Finally, Bonnie decided to call the airbnb host again letting him know that they changed their minds and if at all possible , they would like to uncancel. She offered to pay extra for the confusion and inconvenience.

She dropped Jeremy off after giving him the host's cell number and making him aware of the rules of the host's house. Then she gave him some spending money and left. She drove the rental car back to the airport, paid for a ticket for Jeremy to be waiting for him, then she got hers for the next available flight back home.

...

At home, later that night after a hectic day at the airport, Bonnie was sitting in a hot bubble bath. Her thoughts quickly turned to Klaus again, but thoughts of him did nothing to cease the strange feelings she was still having so she just let her mind go blank.

With her eyes closed, soft violin music playing throughout the house and candles setting the mood she relaxed her body, disengaged her mind and allowed her body to relax completely.

She drifted off, allowing sleep to overtake her.

Bonnie opened her eyes to find herself in the woods behind her house. She felt the cold breeze upon her face and skin as she walked as if guided by an unknown force.

The cloudy sky hid the stars, but the unusually bright full moon shone to illuminate Bonnie's way. The object of her journey stood before her, majestic and grand; an ancient tree stretched high and broad, its many branches were thick and twisted, but there were no leaves on the branches.

At the base of the tree where its thick roots burrowed deep and far into the earth, laid the fallen leaves, so many that the grass was completely covered. The red leaves cast an illusion of the tree being surrounded by a sea of blood. The leaves had fallen before their time.

Bonnie layed down on the bed of leaves and although they were dying they were as soft as rose petals. She closed her eyes, sinking lower into the leaves when she heard the voice talking to her.

Child….the line is broken...the tree is dying...blood for blood….blood for blood...blood for blood…

Over and over the voice rang out a mantra of blood for blood, getting louder and louder and more distorted and angry. Suddenly, through the leaves Bonnie felt sharp claws trying to restrain her. She struggled against the claws feeling her skin being ripped and torn the more she moved. She screamed out in pain…

Bonnie suddenly awoke from her dream still thrashing and struggling, splashing and spilling water unto the floor from the tub. Slowing down her breathing she quickly got out the tub.

In her nightgown, Bonnie was still shaken from her dream and not wanting to go back to sleep so she found the book Klaus gifted her and got in bed. After re-reading the first few pages she started to get sleepy.

When she placed her bookmark on the last page she read and closed the book, she noticed what was carved on the leather cover...it was a huge tree with thick twisted branches covered in leaves. It looked like the tree of her dream. It was the tree, she was sure of it.

What did it mean?

Three days after Bonnie had gotten home, Jeremy returned. He headed straight to Bonnie's still pissed about how things went down. He wanted to get back at her and he was feeling petty. So he blindsided her with the idea of them needing a little break, citing all the recent arguments, fights and her leaving him behind. He even threw in the b.s. of wanting her to be sure that she wanted to be with him.

He laid it on thick about how taking a break would make their relationship stronger. And how this would help him get focussed about his future and his maturity.

He knew all about her insecurities and abandonment issues. Surely this would knock her down a peg or two, plus give him the opportunity to seek out Anna and convince her to come back to him without having to worry about Bonnie being in the way.

He hadn't expected her to take it as well as she did, but he figured she was putting up a good front for his benefit. He didn't care much as long as it worked for him. This was a win-win situation for him, he couldn't see a negative for him at all.

While he was in New Orleans he thought about how he could get Anna back after he called her several times but she never picked up, while having Bonnie sitting on the back burner just in case he couldn't talk Anna into coming back.

He missed Anna and didn't stop thinking about her even when fucking some girl he met at a bar. She was pretty with a nice perky tits and she wanted rough hot sex and no commitment. He was game for that.

The next morning when he got up she was gone, while getting ready to leave for the airport, packing and checking his wallet, he found that the girl stole his money and his weed, luckily she hadn't found his hidden stash.

He called Elena giving her some cock and bull story that Bonnie stranded him without any means of getting home because she was mad at him for getting them lost. Elena being a dumbass believed him and cash apped him four hundred dollars.

He couldn't believe that she thought meek and mild Bonnie Bennett would do something like that but he was glad, it helped him enjoy in-flight alcohol in addition to being totally high. But, damn, he thought, Elena was gullible and out of touch and didn't know Bonnie as well as she ought to.

...

Jeremy visited Elena first, before he went to see Anna. He needed to make sure Elena hadn't spoken to Bonnie, catching him in his lie. He doubted that she would get too pissed about the money, but he didn't want to hear her mouth about his reckless behavior.

He told her not to say anything to Bonnie, assuring her that he would handle his own relationship issues. She agreed not to say anything, but she was fuming over how shabily she assumed Bonnie had treated her brother.

...

Ultimately getting Anna to agree to meet him at the cafe to talk had cost him five hours of sitting in her driveway, blocking her ability to leave for work, refusing to leave until she consented.

Jeremy knew that he wanted her back, to him, she was the best thing for him. Waiting for Anna at the cafe, he just smiled thinking about the make-up sex they would have and how he would do all the things he had been missing.

At first, after agreeing to Jeremy's idea of a break she felt really good, almost as if a weight had been lifted from her. After all the bullshit she was ready to take a break from him and she needed and wanted it, which is why she left him in New Orleans.

Now as a few days had passed and she hadn't heard from him she started missing him, second guessing her motivation in agreeing to this pause in the relationship.

Clearly she had still been on a high from what she did with Klaus. But maybe it was a big mistake. He probably forgot all about her, she mused. He couldn't have been too attracted to her if he didn't even want to have sex with her and he wasn't even there the next morning, part of her brain screamed at her. But the other part equally screamed that there was something there, some kind of connection.

She was confused and there were so many things going on suddenly that the familiarity, if not quality, of being with Jeremy was comforting. So she decided she would go to Jeremy and tell him the separation was over. She felt pathetic, Care would say she was, but old habits were hard to break.

Now that you know better, it is time that you do better echoed in her head, sounding very much like a disappointed Klaus or as she imagined what a disappointed Klaus would sound like, but she ignored it.

Currently standing outside of Jeremy's apartment she heard The Offspring, Jeremy's favorite grunge band blaring so she didn't knock, instead Bonnie fished out her spare key.

The odor that assaulted her was the pungent aroma of marijuana, stale cigarettes and something else, as she entered. Pizza boxes littered the floor and counter as well as beer and wine cooler bottles. A half empty bottle of Jack Daniel's was laying on its side on the coffee table. Bonnie was puzzled as she stood in the living room surveying the mess, Jeremy didn't drink hard liquor.

She called out to him once, but she knew he couldn't hear with the music up. Assuming he was in the shower since he always turned on Spotify while in the bathroom, she headed for his bedroom.

She stopped in her tracks, now realizing what the other smell was, it was the smell of sex, which was stronger now that she was standing at the slightly ajar door of his bedroom. To her initial surprise and her utter revulsion, Bonnie watched a naked Anna riding Jeremy in reverse cowgirl style as she moaned with her eyes closed and head back.

From the angle she stood and the position of the bed she could see another girl sitting on Jeremy's face, holding on the headboard as he was holding onto her thighs as he was noisily eating her pussy.

The rhythmic squeaking of the bed mirrored Anna's movements and morphed into the thumping inside of Bonnie's head as she heard her heart rapidly pumping blood through her veins.

Bonnie was unaware that her eyes turned pitch black as she tried to contain her rage. As if in a trance she slowly walked out of the apartment silently closing the door behind her. She left the apartment just as she entered it, unnoticed.

As Bonnie got into her car she had no cognitive awareness that she had deeply carved 'Pussy Ass Fuck Boy' on the hood and side of Jeremy's pick-up truck and stabbed both of his back tires with the spare key before breaking the key off in one of them.

...

Returning home Bonnie dropped her things on the floor, walked to her favorite chair and sat down still trance-like. She leaned back and closed her eyes trying to control her breathing and the itching in her skin. She couldn't believe what she had just witnessed.

Something was different, though because on some level she was hurt, but she wasn't broken, there was pain and humiliation but they were tempered with rage. So much rage, like a blinding white light, an emotion so pure it was intoxicating. Rage and bloodlust, bloodlust and rage, she could almost taste it and her mouth started to salivate and she was reminded of Klaus' blood and how sweet and powerful it tasted.

Yes, seeing Jeremy fucking Anna brought everything into laser point focus and sealed all their fates. Now she willingly embraced the volcanic emotions that churned and bubbled within her and visions of blood and carnage danced before her mind's eye.
