Mike sighed and rubbed his eyes. He'd been staring at his math homework for so long, his vision started to blur.

Mike usually was better at math but today he couldn't. It wasn't his fault though. He just had other things on his mind.

While he was doing that, Max plopped down in the seat next to him.

"Hey," she whispered, which was understandable seeing as they were in the library.

"Hi, Max." he responded, still trying to concentrate on his homework.

Max rolled her eyes at him. They'd been best friends since spring break a year ago, they didn't know why or how it happened, it just happened.

"I have some more ideas." she sang in a soft voice.

This caught Mike's attention. He turned to Max, who was smirking.

"Well?" Mike asked impatiently. "What are they?"

Max rolled her eyes once again.

"Not here, dork." Max said. "At you're house."

"Fine!" Mike sighed. "I guess I can just take the F on my math assignment."

"I saw you trying to do it." Max teased. "You still would have gotten a F with how little of concentration you had."

"Only because I was trying to come up with some more ideas." Mike defended.

"Well, I did it for you. Come on!"

They'd been doing pranks since Halloween night when they toilet papered a couple of houses.

They were always helpless, usually on their friends but sometimes they were on other people around town.

The best thing about it, no one knew it was them, not even their friends.

The two had to do a prank or two on the Wheelers so they didn't raise suspicion though.

The two met up regularly to come up with ideas and executed them about two times a month.

They were going to strike tonight.

Mike and Max wore all black and Max stuffed her bright red hair into a black beanie.

They packed up their bags and started into the night.

"Alright, let's do this."

First up, Steve's.

Max dumped out a giant bag of plastic forks.

"Start sticking them in the ground." she hissed.

Mike and Max started to plunge the forks into the ground, surrounding the pool with plastic forks sticking up.

Snickering the whole time, Max and Mike finished their task and ran to the next house, which was the Johnsons.

Mike took out bars of soap from his backpack.

Max started to smother the soap all over some of their windows while Mike wrote some notes on others.

They ran to other houses, doing the same thing.

When they were done, they circled back to the Wheelers, where they quietly hooked up the hose and filled the Sinclairs garbage cans with water.

After about two and a half hours of pranking, Mike and Max went their separate ways, excitedly waiting for what tomorrow would bring.

When Max and Mike walked around town the next morning, they saw Steve bending over backwards to get forks out of his yard, the Johnsons scrubbing their windows along with others, and the Sinclairs heaving and sliding their trash cans down the driveway.

Max and Mike acted as if it was surprising that all these things were surprising, but they knew the truth.

The best friends high fived and ran off to plan what pranks they would be doing next.
