Eddie was bored.

That's really all you could be when you're stuck in a hospital bed.

He hadn't any visitors except Dustin and Wayne in the last two days since the doctors didn't know if his wounds were "contagious" or something.

Eddie knew they weren't.

Steve had gotten off easy, after Hopper came back, he called one of Dr. Owens buddies and got Steve checked out. Lucky.

But since he'd blacked out when the demobats attacked, the others decided to take him to the hospital just in case.

He shouldn't be too mad at Hop though; he was the one that made sure the Eddie wasn't handcuffed to the bed right now.

Eddie knew Max was also in here somewhere, getting treatment for her broken leg.

Lucas had gotten checked out since he got beaten half to death by Jason.

Eddie scowled at the thought. Jason.

He'd run off when he gained consciousness.

No one knew where he was.

Eddie sighed as he rested against the pillows that were propping him up. He closed his eyes even though he wasn't tired. He just wanted something to do.

Eddie heard the door crack open. "Eddie?" a voice whispered.

Eddie's eyes shot open. There was Chrissy, sitting in her wheelchair.

Eddie had run away when Chrissy had been targeted, thinking she was dead.

Turns out she wasn't, but she'd been in a coma with a broken arm and leg for a week.

It had a miracle that she'd wake up.

Dustin told Eddie that he a suspicion that El, the super powered girl had something to do with Chrissy waking up.

"Hey, Chrissy." Eddie gave her a small smile. "How are you?"

Eddie hadn't seen Chrissy since she'd been floating in his trailer.

"I've been better." Chrissy returned the smile. "What about you?"

"Oh, never better." Eddie joked. "Always been my dream to live out DND."

Chrissy giggled.

"So," Chrissy said, becoming serious. "There was a creature stalking people?"

Eddie nodded, looking at his blankets.

"Chrissy," Eddie started. "I- I'm sorry that I ran."

"It's okay," Chrissy told him. "I would have run too."

"Really?"

"Yeah," Chrissy nodded. "I would have run all the way to the other side of Hawkins."

"That's what I did!" Eddie exclaimed.

Chrissy chuckled.

"How's Max?" Eddie asked. "Have you been able to visit her?"

"Just came from her room, actually." Chrissy replied. "Her leg's been hurting her a bit but otherwise she's fine. Well, on the outside."

Eddie's smile was sad. Nobody should have gone through that. Especially not a 14-year-old.

The door opened.

"Oh, Chrissy." the doctor said. "I thought you were visiting your friend."

"I was," Chrissy responded. "But then I decided to make a pit stop."

"Well, I'm sorry to cut this short but Eddie needs rest."

Chrissy nodded, maneuvering her wheelchair towards the door.

She said a small bye and then she was gone.

The doctor told Eddie to go to sleep.

So, without anything to do, Eddie closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.

Dustin was beginning to hate hospitals.

He was pretty sure everyone else was also beginning to grow a hate towards hospitals.

Dustin was currently in Max's hospital room with the rest of the Party.

The adults were dealing with the military stuff.

Dustin was waiting for Eddie to wake up so he could visit him.

Steve had been shooting concerned glances the whole afternoon, seeing Dustin's knee bouncing and his hands twitching nervously.

He finally moved towards him, bending down and whispering, "Want to go get some snacks?"

Dustin knew this was a ploy to be able to talk to him in private, but he nodded.

Steve and Dustin moved out of the room quietly.

They walked down the hall in silence until they reached the vending machine.

"So," Steve broke the silence. "What's on your mind?"

"I just really want to see Eddie."

Steve nodded, as if he knew that's why Dustin had been so fidgety.

"I figured," Steve confirmed. "I just wanted to-"

"Distract me?"

Steve smiled sheepishly. "Yeah."

"Thanks." Dustin said quietly.

Steve just patted him on the back.

Dustin opened his mouth to say something, when they heard voices.

"Why are we doing this?" a voice asked.

"Keep it down." another voice hissed. "I told you, to get back at that long haired freak."

The duo froze.

"Just go in," the voice continued. "And hit him on the head, like we planned."

"Why don't you do it?"

"Because!"

"No," the voice was firm this time. "You do it."

"Fine! I'll do it."

The voices were fading as they walked down the hall.

Dustin looked at Steve.

"We need to get the others."

Eddie was in a peaceful sleep, which was rare nowadays.

He was so out of it; he didn't hear the door open.

Jason took a deep breath, clenching the baseball bat in his hands.

He looked around one last time, making sure there was no one watching.

Jason moved into the room quietly, raising the baseball bat.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." a voice suddenly said.

Jason spun around, wide eyed.

El stepped out from behind the door.

Jason huffed. "And who's going to stop me?"

"Me."

Jason rolled his eyes.

"Well, sorry princess but-" Jason suddenly stopped with a screech when the baseball bat was dropped to the ground and his arm was bent in an unnatural angle.

"W-what?" Jason cried.

"Yeah, you really don't want to mess with her." Eddie remarked, having woke up due to the screech.

"Yeah, she's dangerous." Dustin said walking into the room. "So dangerous that you might not want to mention that this happened."

Jason nodded frantically.

"Good." Dustin said. "Have a nice nap."

"Wait wha-" Jason said, then fell to the floor.

Steve gave the baseball bat a twirl. "Not bad," he commented. "But it needs nails."

"Are we getting another one?" Max asked, getting wheeled in by Lucas.

The rest of the Party are behind them.

"Possibly." Steve says with a look that Max must understand since she rolls her eyes.

"Thanks, guys." Eddie said.

"No problem." Robin told him. "Sorry to interrupt your beauty sleep though."

"Eh, I can get that anytime." Eddie shrugged, smiling.

"What's going on?" a voice asks.

Everyone turns and sees Chrissy, who's glancing at Jason with a horrified look on her face.

"We kind of," Dustin started. "Had to knock out your boyfriend."

There was a wave of silence.

Then, Chrissy snorted.

"He deserved it." she said.

Everyone chuckles.

Steve clears his throat.

"Well, we got to get Max back to her room." he said, starting toward the door.

Everyone followed except Dustin.

"What? No!" he protested.

Steve rolls his eyes and starts leading Dustin towards the door, whispering something in his ear.

Dustin's mouth formed an o shape, and he hurried out of the room.

Steve gave Eddie an exasperated look and closed the door.

Eddie smirked, turning to Chrissy.

"So." she said.

"So." he replied.

"My ex-boyfriend just tried to kill you." Chrissy stated.

"Ex?" Eddie.

"Well, yeah. I'm not going to be in a relationship with a psycho." Chrissy explained.

"Yeah, Jason was a jerk." Eddie replied.

Chrissy chuckled. "That also."

The two sat in silence for a few minutes.

Eddie started shifting in against his pillows.

"Something wrong?" Chrissy asked.

"I think I need to sit up, my back's hurting." Eddie replied.

"Here, I got it." Chrissy wheeled over to his bedside and hit a button, so his bed raised up.

"Thanks." Eddie said, gazing into her eyes.

The two started to lean into each other, their faces becoming closer and closer until...

"Yes!" a voice shouted.

Eddie and Chrissy ripped apart, both blushing.

"Dustin." Steve hissed. "I told you not to snoop."

Eddie and Chrissy looked at each other and chuckled.

"Bye Dustin." Eddie said.

"Okay, okay." Dustin retreated. "I knew it!"

Eddie shook his head, grinning.

"So, should we try that again?"

"I'm not opposed."

Eddie and Chrissy's first kiss were definitely one of the weirdest and the funniest first kiss out there.
