Author Note: This is one of the original chapters of the book. Again, like I said in chapter 23, this is my idea of the story of Morgana La Fey. You can totally not agree with it and stop reading the story. I almost cried at the end of writing this. I think it's a beautiful chapter about life.
"Wake up, Claire."
I open my eyes as I hear a female scream. I jump and look around frantically, noticing I'm in the same castle hallway from my dreams. I hear the screaming grow louder and louder.
"Morgana, Calm down. Shhh! Just keep breathing and push." I hear Guinevere's voice say.
Morgana? Why is she screaming? Is she in pain? Is she hurt? What's going on?
"Ahhh! It hurts! I can't! I can't!" I hear Morgana cries loudly.
I feel a strange tingle in my arms and legs and subconsciously get up, walking toward the direction of the sound. My heart starts beating fast as the screams become louder. I cover my ears and feel pain in my chest and forehead. I hear a voice say to keep going. I want to stop, but I can't. Why? Why should I care about Morgana? Why am I drawn to the sound even though it's painful? But I wonder why Morgana is crying in agony. Why is she screaming, sending me physical pain?
"Elaine, I need your help. Hold Morgana's hand while I catch the baby. Morgana, keep breathing and pushing." I hear Guinevere trying to be calm.
My eyes widen. Baby? Oh my god! Morgana is giving birth. I start to pick up the pace. I hear her scream more, making the pain more intense, feeling like it's stabbing my head.
"I see its head; it's almost coming. Come on, Morgana. Keep pushing."
"Ahhhh! I can't; I can't! It hurts! It's unbearable!"
"Yes, you can!"
"Come on, Mistress. You can do this!" I hear another woman, probably Elaine, say calmly.
"It's coming out! Keep going!"
I hear Morgana cry in agony, making the wall and ground shake. I collapse to the ground, feeling the pain for me to become unbearable. I wrap my arms tightly around my stomach, tucking my head into my legs. "Stop it! Stop it!" I scream, hearing the sound and pain become one, making me cry in agony. My magic starts to rush through my body fast and strongly. I close my eyes, struggling to fight and open my eyes to the real world. Then I hear a baby wail, replacing Morgana's screaming.
"It's a girl; it's a girl!" I hear Guinevere's joyful cries, and the pain stops in my head and stomach, but the crying doesn't. "Shhh! Shhh! It's alright, child. You'll see your mother soon."
I catch my breath as I struggle to get up, feeling sick, and my brain rattled off the pain. I dash down the hallways, trying to search for Morgana. When I turn a corner, I see an illuminating light in a room. I walk towards the light and look into it. My heart skips a beat. There, in the room, is a bed with Morgana, sitting alone with candles around her and a bucket full of water near the foot of the bed. Morgana looks pale, sweating, and exhausted. There are pillows behind her back to support her. She's wearing a simple yellow dressing gown, coving by a beautiful embroidered green blanket from her torso to the end of the bed, looking cozy but breathing deeply and slowly, trying to calm herself down.
"Morgana, I have someone who wants to meet you." I hear Guinevere sing softly. I turn to the sound and see a woman, and Guinevere, who carries a small yellow crying bundle in her arms.
Morgana gasps, her eyes and lips widening, trying to sit up and reach out her hand, but she groans in pain and falls back on the pillows. The other woman rushes to her aid. Guinevere comes next to Morgana and hands her the bundle. I carefully walk into the room and take a few steps toward the woman.
"Oh, my goodness. Hello there!" Morgana cries weakly to the wailing bundle as I see tears coat her eyes. As I get closer, the wailing fades and stops.
"Mistress, she looks so beautiful." The other woman speaks, causing Morgana to look up at her.
"She looks like her father." She replies, making me think the baby doesn't have red hair and/or green eyes.
"What are you going to name her?" Guinevere asks curiously.
"I've been thinking about it for a while, but I'm going to name her what her father would've wanted to name her," Morgana pauses momentarily, looking down and smiling. "...Veronica."
Veronica? Like-Wait-No! It's not our family's Veronica. No! It can't be.
"Veronica. That's a perfect name!" Guinevere cheers happily, sitting next to Morgana.
"A beautiful name for a beautiful baby Mistress." The other woman says and bows.
"Thank you, Elaine," Morgana replies kindly, smiling at the woman and confirming my suspicion of her name. Strange. I've never seen Morgana act like this. Happy, joyful, and seeing her cry. I have seen her act compassionate, caring, and selfless in Camelot, but that was after I knew her as the ruthless, cruel, vengeful, heartless witch who tried to kill me, Jim, my friends, and everything loved. But I see in her eyes, looking down at the bundle in her arms, are filled with love and kindness. "I love you, Veronica."
Author Note: Oh no. The tears are coming. (Sniff) Ok now, don't cry. Save the tears for later. Wow! Morgana gave birth to a baby girl name Veronica. Hmmm... a coincidence that her name is the same as-. Wait-Don't want to give anything. Stay to if you want to find out what happens next with Morgana and her baby , I'm going on a trip on Wednesday and won't be back till late Sunday night. I'll do my best to write but don't expect to get another chapter until next week. Please review!
