Author Note: This is very sad. But I definitely saw this coming. Shout out to Susanna D, I wish you a happy birthday! Hope this is a good present even though it's not a happy chapter. This is where Claire realizes she must go on her journey.

I see the beautiful sight of the party and me in front of the crowd, but then, a flash of fire makes me see the attack in the courtyard. I see Abuela being hit by Bellroc, causing my magic to explode from my chest and blast Bellroc and Skrael away. Then I pass out. I hear screaming all around me, and I finally hear my own. I gasped as I opened my eyes to see a room's ceiling. I listen to voices around me and snap up, looking frantically around me. I see Dad, Jim, Mary, Darci, and Douxie in the room with my blurry vision.

"Shhh! Shhh! Shhh! Claire, calm down! It's alright! It's ok! Shhh!" I hear Barbara say and feel hands on my back.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!" I mutter, shaking in fear.

"Shhh! Claire. Calm down." I hear Zoe's voice behind me and feel my fear and anger slowly die, and I feel drowsy. All the bad memories and visions become blurry.

"What...What." I try to speak.

"Shhh! Claire, close your eyes and take deep breaths. It's ok." I hear Barbara again, speaking softly to me.

I do as she says and feel myself calm down. After taking deep breaths, I look around the room and see all my friends except Blinky and AAARRRGGHH! "What happened?" I ask calmly, my mind racing.

Everyone looks at each other nervously before Douxie steps up. "Well... Claire... Something bad happened during the attack, and you freaked out. We don't know what happened, but you loudly screamed, and an explosion threw everyone back from you. You started glowing purple and levitated off the ground. You were so bright and powerful. I saw a ginormous transparent wolf wrapping around you, but the light became so bright that I looked away. When everything stopped, I saw the Shadow Mephits, the Half-troll, Bellroc, and Skrael were gone, and you were on the ground, passed out cold." He explains with sadness but relief in his voice.

"You were unconscious for two hours," Barbara adds, touching my shoulder.

I turn my head to look at Dad. "Is everyone ok?" I ask worryingly.

He nods his head. "Everyone is alright. Except for one." He says softly but sadly.

My eyes widen, and I feel fear creep into my heart again. "Where's Mom and Enrique? Where's Abuela?" I ask in a panic.

He walks over to me and sits next to me. "Mom and Enrique are with Abuela in her room, and she looks terrible from the battle." He replies cautiously.

My heart stops. Without thinking, I quickly jumped out of bed and rushed to the door, but my legs were weak, and I fell before Jim caught me.

"Whoa! Claire, what are you doing?" He asks worryingly.

I struggle to get up. "I have to see Abuela! She's hurt! I need to see her!" I shout, adrenaline pumping through my veins, scared for her life.

"Shhh! Shhh! Claire, you're exhausted and need to rest." Barbara says with concern.

"No! I want to see her!" I protest.

"She should." I hear Diego's voice. We turn to the door and see him standing before us, looking sad and pale but trying to hide it.

"Diego, is Abuela ok? I want to see her!" I say in a panic, rushing up to him.

Diego is the fear in my eyes and pulls me in a hug. "It's ok. It's ok. Shhh!" He tries to comfort me, sounding gentle but a bit scared. "That's why I came here. Abuela is in a lot of pain and asks to see you." He adds, releasing his grip on me. "Maybe for the last time." He mumbles, glancing down at the floor.

I gasp and shake, feeling like crying. "Please! I want to see her!" I cry.

With that, Diego and I walk down the hall, my heart beating in my chest, preparing for the worst. We get to Abuela's room and open the door, and Mom greets us and throws her arms around me.

"Mom, where's Abuela? How bad is she?" I repeat, my voice shaking and scared.

Mom strokes my hair. "She isn't doing good; she got shot with a blade and can barely breathe." She says softly, trying to hold her composure.

The room is big, and I see a crowd of my family surrounding a bed. I look around frantically, my mind racing and feeling sick. Mom leads me through the crowd, and I see a frail woman lying on a bed with an apple-scented candle on her nightstand. Her body is covered in a light blue with a white Celtic design blanket.

Abuela turns to me and gives me a weak smile. "Hello, Claire! Come here." She says sweetly, gently padding a spot on the bed.

I rush over to her side and carefully sit down. Abuela takes my hand. I watch her slowly closing and opening her eyes.

"Claire, why are you crying?" She asks incompetently.

"You're hurt Abuela... I hate seeing you like this." I reply softly, tears blurring my vision.

"Shhh! Shhh! It's alright, Claire. Everything is alright." She says before coughing.

"Abuela! Shhh! Shhh! No, it's not." I cry. After a moment, she calms down and stops.

"Hey! What are they doing here?" I hear a female voice, probably Olivia, shout.

I turn to see my friends beside Dad, Barbara, and Diego just in front of the door.

"Abuela asked them to be here!" Diego hisses.

"Diego! This is private!" They yell and show themself's. Yep! It's Olivia.

"No... Let them come." Abuela says softly.

With people glaring, my friends slowly walk over. I look at Jim and see his worried eyes. Mom and Barbara walk over to the other side of the bed. Mom asks if there's anything she can do. Barbara already saw Abuela. My heart breaks when she looks at me with guilt in her eyes. She turns to my mom and says softly, "there's nothing I or anyone can do."

"Claire." I hear Abuela say, and I turn my head and look back at her. "Follow the wolf." She says quietly, almost not hearing her.

My eyes widen, and I lean closer to her. "What?" I ask, confused.

"Claire, they're calling you. A curse on our family; someone is waiting for you to help them." She replies.

"Oh great! Abuela is talking nonsense again." I hear a male's voice behind me. "Lucas!" I hear Abuelo hiss.

But I keep my eyes on my weak grandmother. "Abuela, what are you talking about?" I ask with worry.

"The Prophecy... It has come true. They're coming for you again... Follow the wolf. They will lead you to our lost past. Even though it might be scary... all the lessons you've learned in your life will help you." She replies.

I'm more confused. I shake my head. "Abuela, you're not making any sense; you're hurt," I reply, trembling, but a voice in my head tells me it's true.

"Claire, I've kept an eye on you since you left five years ago. Your friends and family will help you. I know you're scared... but you can do anything. I've seen you do it." She says, and I gasp slightly. "You're ready."

I shake my head. "No! I'm not." I reply, almost crying.

"Claire, don't. You have everything you need to." She argues weakly.

"No, Abuela. I can't leave you." I cry, feeling her grip become weaker.

"Shhhh! There is nowhere you can go that I won't be with you." She says softly, lifts her finger, and points to my chest. "I will always be here for you." She whispers, and her hand drops to the bed. She turns her head slightly, and I look to see my boyfriend. "Come here, Jim," Abuela calls out, and Jim walks over to us, standing right next to me. She lets go of my hand on the bed, grabs him, and places it on mine, making my eyes widen. I look at Jim and back at Abuela. She then puts her hand on ours and smiles. "And you have people like Jim who love and care about you to help and guide you. Bendigo Este unión." I hear gasps around the room. I look at Jim, stunned. I find my parents, who are shocked, with Enrique in Dad's arms. I turn back to Abuela and let go of Jim's hand. "Claire, hand me your necklace." She asks, and I waste no time taking it off. Abuela grabs my hand and grips it as tight as she can. "Promise me, Claire; you will find who is calling you and follow your heart. No matter what people say, you will stay true to who you are." She says weakly.

I nodded several times, trying to hold back my heavy tears. "I promise, Abuela. I promise." I mumble.

Abuela smiles and takes a painful breath deep. "The time has come. I'm sorry, Claire. I'm sorry I must leave you and our family, but I will always be here with you no matter where you are." She says sweetly and closes her eyes, but her grip remains.

I start crying and lean on her, hugging her. I feel Abuela's hands wrap around me. I hear her heartbeat slow down. I listen to her last breath, and her grip is gone. My heart stops. I grip Abuela tightly and start wailing. "No! No! No!" I sob, closing my eyes. My whole world is crashing down. I hear soft sobbing behind me. I stay still, rocking back and forth slightly, holding Abuela in my arms. After what feels like hours, I feel a hand on my back. My sense becomes blurry, but rage boils in my body, feeling like I want to scream and hunger for vengeance. I slap the hand away, get up, and run out of the room. I hear distant voices shouting behind me, but I keep running. Down the stairs, across the courtyard, and out the door, running away from all the pain. Run away from all the evil, horror, and life.

Abuela is dead. Abuela is dead.

Author Note: I was inspired to write the conversation with Claire and Abuela from the scene in Moana with Moana and Grandma Tala on her death bed. And this is a sad chapter. But I hope you enjoy it anyways. Even though Abuela is gone physically, she's not gone in the storyline. You'll see what I mean soon. Hint: think of a guardian angel. Please review!

And Happy Birthday Susanna D! You are awesome!
